jisung's voice is quiet, but it gets your attention anyway. the two of you are out with your (shared) friends since felix wanted to go out. hyunjin's sketching the table before you guys, his cup of ice cream tucked close to him as he works. felix is already digging into his, happy to have a sweet escape from the summer heat, and seungmin's yet to get his own order and join you. when you turn your head, jisung's scooped up a spoon full of the chocolate ice cream he bought. you don't even think twice about opening your mouth as he serves you the first bite with this subtle smile.

"ugh," hyunjin wrinkles his nose despite the fact you swear he didn't even look up. he has this tiny smile though when you look at him, content with teasing the two of you. you don't think jisung even notices as he admires you. you see felix smiling a little at the two of you, though--some days he'll tease, but today he just lets it slide.

jisung sees your smile, though, and his gaze softens. "good?"

"mmhm," you say. "do you want a bite--"

seungmin groans as he makes his way over. "groooooss. can't you two stop for even a minute?"

the answer is a no in your mind. jisung's a little insistent of you always getting the first bite of his food unless he knows its something you hate. you like sharing with him, too: especially when it leads to his cheeks puffing out a little as he eats. he doesn't do it now while you give him a spoonful of your own ice cream (not with the small ice cream spoons--maybe if you were at home with bigger spoons) but it's still endearing when it happens.

but jisung waves a hand. "we will, we will..." but he smiles at you anyway, hand finding yours underneath the table anyway.

even if the two of you cut down on the couple-y stuff... he'll always be right there, holding your hand. that's just how the two of you are.

Way off topic but you know something the state of Georgia does that every state in the union should do? Require restaurants and such to post their health inspections somewhere visible to their customers and also upload all inspection reports online into a database easily searchable by the public. My sister was going out to dinner tonight and right there on the door was a giant sign that said the restaurant had failed their health inspection yesterday (but it wasn't low enough to require them to shut, just post the "U" grade right on the front door). Usually the grade is posted somewhere near the register or at the little lobby area inside. I pulled up the report and read everything wrong with the restaurant. They have rats, don't wash hands, are storing food at the wrong temp, storing raw meat improperly, don't have properly functioning thermometers in the freezer, and aren't cleaning their ice/drink machines. Every state should have that kind of transparency. I want to know if the place I'm eating at is handling food safely! Food poisoning is NOT FUN!!!

idk if i ever came up with names for them but bob's maternal grandparents are like emily and richard gilrmore except nicer and jewish. think retired surgeon for the grandpa who still lectures and sits on boards etc. both are well meaning but sometimes a lil outta touch. and they're a little disappointed that only bob's uncle and cousin followed in those doctor footsteps.

on the flip side, bobs paternal grandma is running the floyd family ranch and is something of an old stubborn bat. think y.ellowstone but better morals and less murder. mama floyd got smart in the 90s/2000s and turned part of the ranch into a dude ranch and a decently known horse program/riding school. now that she's older she's had to delegate a lot more but she refuses to retire.

So I've never really lived in a neighborhood that's like fully a community that supports each other before? I mean, there's been a neighbor or two that my family has been on like "exchange cookies at the holidays" status with, but not like my current neighbors, who made extra mini cheesecakes to share with us and made mine without the apple pie filling the others had so that I could eat it with my allergies (they are so nice and the mini cheesecake was so good!), who look out for each other and help each other move furniture and stuff? Anyway all that to say I really enjoy where I live now, and I have no photos to share for this afternoon's crafting update because my neighbor asked me to fix their dog's bed's cover and I removed and added a new zipper for them
