Im probably gonna ranting about why simba is better character than stolas and let start that simba actually trying being better father to his children despite he having severe PTSD due to he literally witnessing his own father brutal death while getting blamed for it by his evil uncle and he doesn't had chance for processing his grief properly that we saw that he literally often having anger outbursts almost his emotional coping whole stolas on other side is very neglectful father literally prioritizing his affair partner whom also he coerced into the relationship than his own fucking daughter and he also more putting his time on his affair partner rather than his daughter then crying that he say "no one need him or loved him" like is he forgot that he had literal daughter whom cravings for his attention and in conclusion that simba is way BETTER character than stolas that it my ranting

idk i just feel like there's something particularly cruel about having a solid episode concept like "verosika hosts a fuck you party for blitz and everyone else he's fucked over," because its a great way to show a pattern of behavior in blitz and the effect he has on others he's been with and hurt!

then.. they put stolas there. stolas, "you have sex with me every month or your I.M.P is going under without my book you need, no exceptions until i legally gave you an asmodean crystal a year later, for your work", goetia, or whatever the fuck his last name is.

this episode is trying so hard to make stolas on equal levels to verosika and the other imps dumped by blitz, but if any of these hellborn actually knew how he got into a "relationship" with blitz to begin with, and how blitz never even had a choice in whether or not he wants to be with stolas, (even when they were kids!) i really doubt theyd want anything to do with him. stolas never explains that their relationship wasnt a relationship, just a transactional monthly hookup to literally keep blitz's business afloat. he doesn't, because he STILL doesn't fully understand what he did wrong, but understands it enough to know he had to be the one to break off the deal he made. i doubt he'll ever actually explain what the deal was to any outsiders who ask, because then stolas would be forced to actually be held accountable for his own actions, and we cant possibly have that! /sar

i think one of the worst lines from stolas in this episode, aside from most of them because i think hes annoying, was when blitz expressed he didnt know why anyone would care about him, stolas responds that this party, dedicated to blitz, because they hate him so much, shows how much they ""care."" and that might have some kind of point coming out of verosikas mouth- implying that these people genuinely cared for him at one point and he pushed them away- but absolutely not stolas's. so its no wonder that blitz responds by self deprecating himself, saying, "i dont even know why youd want to be with me." followed by stolas admitting that what he really wants is someone to care about him.

and honestly, thats another thing too. i cant believe that after everything, after everything stolas has claimed about wanting blitz because he loves and respects him, when blitz then asks WHY stolas wants him, stolas responds, "you know what i want? i want to know what its like to not be alone. i want to be someone's someone. i want someone to care about me." because it shouldve been his moment to explain to blitz what he sees in him, and why he fell in love with him to begin with the more they slept together. but it wasnt.

not only is it unbelievably selfish of stolas to make blitz go through all of this for almost a year, to not only have NO reason as to why he has/had feelings for blitz, (basically confirming to me that stolas never really cared about blitz or his feelings, still doesn't, and just needed to have an adult relationship someone who didn't outwardly hate his guts like stella did, because were 2 and a half fucking seasons into this show and still dont know why the love interest romantically wants the main character, and die hard viv stans still think the stoliz insta posts count as canon because they're on copium,) but to ignore the one good thing in his life that he insists that he genuinely loves, octavia, in favor of him acting as if he'll die alone completely if he doesn't have a partner..

y'know that one scene in adventure time where jake is like, "dude.. let's kill the horse."? thats how i feel towards stolas right now.

Oh…oh. He’s no longer being called “the entity” in the episode description. He’s his own person. He’s like—he found himself in that. He knows who he is now. Fully. He is himself, who he wants to be. I haven’t even listened yet and I’m going to sob.

Honestly mostly thought calling him “the entity” was a thing for any new listeners. So they didn’t get spoiled about the name and all that. But always thought it was kinda odd considering he’s called John so early on.

But it was an intentional choice. He’s *John* now. Wholly. And fully. And he believes that too and so it shows.

God I’m so attached to this mf.

The singing is lovely actually. Have no idea what the fuck is going on through. Song seems fitting lol.

Ocs and skirts/dress

Jin: I honestly have not really thought about Jin wearing a skirt often. Not saying that they don't but I don't know how they would feel about it.

Amber: Doesn't wear them often unless for a fancy event. Other than that, she's prefers pants, shorts and the like. Better for work anyway.

Kenji: At the moment, I think he's okay with stuff that looks like a skirt, or wearing a skirt with pants underneath. But a skirt-skirt? Eeeeeh, I don't think he's comfortable with those. I might change my mind tho, all of these are in the moment gut instincts.

Aiko: Was honestly always a tomboy , wore overalls 95% of the time. She has worn skirts before, both when she was younger and like. Rarely as an adult. She doesn't mind them but prefers something she can do acrobatics in ( she says as she does flips and shit in overalls).

Beryl: Similar to Jin, I've always seen them in pants/leggings, but never a skirt, but I don't know how she feels about them.

Danica: More often than not, is wearing a skirt or a dress. Probably not the most practical for Sinnoh 's climate but she likes looking cute. This isn't to say she hasn't worn pants ever lmao, she just generally prefers skirts and dresses.

Kiran: I don't think he cares lmao. As long as it's comfy and he can sleep in it, then he's good. I usually see him pants though. Tbh, I can see Kiran as a " wear the same outfit for several days" type of guy.

Alexis: Wears skirts as often as he wears pants. The way I see his "main" outfit is him literally wearing a long skirt. So yeah, he wears skirts and dresses often, it's part of his everyday wardrobe. With fancy events he tends to play safe and wear a suit, but he's slowly getting past that anxiety.

Elliot: Never minded skirts, but always preferred pants. Similarly, her usual go to for fancy events are suits, unless she sees a dress she know she'll rock.

Eva: Very similar to Alexis, skirts and pants are pretty equal to her. In recent years I would say she's gotten really attached to jumpsuits - though that's probably bc she works in them lmao.

Wayne: Honestly? I'm not fully sure. But I think Lacey being his little sister has subjected him to lots of dress up, which ironically made him more used to dresses and skirts as a whole. I think he would like sport skirts best, since he still wants to move around and exercise in them.

Jude - literally wears them whatever, whenever. So. Yeah they are comfortable with skirts and dresses.

Dante: So I never really thought about Dante wearing skirts and dresses until recently. And unlike Jin and Beryl, I kinda have a feel about how he feels about them. Like me, he never really thought about it, at least when it came to himself. But post xy m, Dante is thinking about a lot of things and how his own view of the world is slightly....limited? So the thought of if he would enjoy wearing a skirt has crossed his mind occasionally. I think he would enjoy them, though there might be a lot of insecurity and questioning that he has to go through in order to truly feel comfortable.

Ames: Not fully sure tbh. I know she often wears shorts and pants though. At fancy/ cultural events? Maybe yeah.

Ray: Similar to Ames.

Naomi: LOVES skirts and dresses. Especially "fancy" ones. If she could wear a fancy dress everyday she would.

Carol: Likes skirts! Not as much as Naomi but they like them enough. Would actually mix n mash a skirt and tux for fancy events ( think luz from owl house)

Luca: Likes skirts and dresses!!! Would wear them as often as pants n shorts.

R.B: Was kinda forced to present more masculine for a good chunk of her life. She doesn't exactly hate it ( she finds it mostly comfortable) but wearing skirts and dresses really ups the euphoria. Overall, now that she's in a safe environment she feels safe enough to express herself ( she doesn't exact hate the school uniforms btw, but she does wish there was the option for skirts. )

Honestly would like to see if you take into account different Ars Goetia lore for them. Especially if you go with either pilot Stolas of being a villain who wants to hire the IMP or if you go with the selfish man he is in canon and amplify that considering the setting.

Also with Stella not being in Ars Goetia canon but Andrealphus IS but instead of a peacock he's a... snowy owl I think?

Ahhh yes. Stolas... I do actually have ideas on what I want to rewrite Stolas' role. He's definitely going to be a villain like he was set up to be in the pilot and episode 1. But I kind of decided that instead of exchanging the book for sex, maybe he uses IMP to do some dirty work for him every once in awhile in exchange instead. But maybe he and Blitz had a one time thing, so he still does that creepy "little imp" shit to add to his malicousness. I want to see this man (owl) be the unapologetically evil asshole we were promised okay. I want to hate his guts because he's a villain not because he's a terribly written character.

Also yeah... What's up with that? I mean- I by no means know much about anything with the Goetia because I never had resources or a desire to research it, but I fucking hate Andrealphus' design in the show AGH. Tbh, I don't really like any of the bird-like characters designs. Even if they did make him a peacock he'd probably still look the same, just recolored. None of them even look like birds to me in the first place, which is why I'm excited to redesign a few of them

commentary: this was THE jaydick fic anon. one of my most favorite fics that had me crying at 3 am from the angst and feels. this fic pretty much ruined me, but it's okay because it was THAT good! highly recommend reading!

i wasn't really into identity porn before, but this author changed my mind with how good this fic is! i highly recommend checking out their other works! the way they also wrote the romance between Jason and Dick is just *chef's kiss*

It does make sense. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed, but that's only because I'm either incredibly nervous or I think it'd be negative.

Arabic poetry is definitely beautiful, I read a lot of it when I got into literature, and the words in English was always so pretty. It's a talent to have Arabic as your first language, it seems very complicated. Then to be fluent in English? You're smart. I've been writing since I was a child. Okay, i may finally have finished nury's design

Since i'll be making a fanfic about the au im creating.. still, the one i made in my native language isn't exactly a 100% how i want to be. Cause.. i kinda wanted to re-writte just a little about jade's personality cause of her age in that universe

And cause of that, survivors live under the surface.. but if you wondering why. Simple, the monsters and infected ones are always on the surface, which makes a lot of sentient or sane creatures stay in the undergrounds.

And also, a thing about this au, there is a certain entity that will be a plot for the fanfic, but here's also a explanation.

If you want to make a oc monster, you will have to put one certain trait similar to their owner, cause there's a rank between monsters, if you are dead after getting killed by one of the bosses, there might be the chance you could've got their interest, mostly and usually cause of skills, such as if you have a good speed or strenght, but also quick thinking or QI, since most of them minions they have are cause their habilities or certain skill caught their interest.

And after getting killed, the bosses will basically use your flesh and remake you into whatever they want, likely, they choose your appearance, which means that you may be lucky or really unlucky, and i gonna list their names and also kind of styles they like

Zazzit:is more of a monster with theater and 1950 style, which means if you get owned by they, your appearance could be likely of a ghost, black phantom, or a puppet.

Naretsu:she is a monster that has quite a temper, but she is also pretty fast and likes seeing people be obedient or honest with her, her style is usually very near of revealing clothes that sometimes could benefit you in certain situations, but if ya owned by her, you may have a appearance similar to succubus, doll, or dancer

Kazik:he is a monster that is like a wendigo, but he is aswell someone pantient and pretty blunt, but has good manners, he is more of the medieval kind, so if you owned by him, your appearance would resemble one of a anthropomorphic being, such as lambs, bunnies, cats, wolfs, foxes, hares, deers, bears, and owls

Obelix:he is honestly a perv, and possibly is someone that you will hate their guts cause of their actions. If you owned by him, it will just be like naretsu, but the clothes you might wear will show a lot of skin.. so hope ya strong..

Teretsu:he is someone really charismatic, but also very sadistic and loves people suffering, he has a appearance of a monochrome court jester, if you owned by him, you will get to have a physic more of a old cartoon and be able to regenarate yourself, such aswell having a more demonic appearance and lose a bit of sanity that makes you basically a little insane

And yeah, for now these are the ones i working on. I still will show their minions, but that will be more for the future

The main antagonists will be the same as the show, but with times they would need to work together to survive, and also, the main characters on this fic, some of them will be ocs and have aswell canon characters, which means will be almost likely a bunch of teens going to the surface to kill those monsters, find talismans and also do missions to collect files to discover which people died to certain bosses

She is half russian and half brazilian.

Her mother is a widow cause one of the bosses killed nury's father infront of nury when she was only 6, which was a huge trauma that made nury blame herself, cause that happened on her birthday and she asked for her to take her to the surface so she could see the sunrise. But it ended up with her father getting brutally killed infront of her.. she only survived cause she ran away and was found by a soldier, currently, she isn't someone physically strong, but cause of her father, she learnt how to use weapons quite well, which means she is the type to use weapons of long distance in fights rather then physic combat.

She is aswell a sniper main, which means she has a good aim and fast agility.

She usually also wears a dress with pants, since she keeps her weapons under her skirt, which means her opponents will think she has no weapons, but will see a minute later she pull out a shotgun from under her skirt and shot them.

She is aswell someone pretty touch-starved, but also doesn't like to bother others at being physical, so she rarely asks for a hug, which is usually jade who she asks to, cause nury has more trust on her mom and in jade about being physical, nury also rarely feels attraction to anyone, which may seem similar to arromantic. But she actually will delevop feelings for someone, but i won't reveal cause i want it to be a surprise.

And well, i also plan on making the fanfic on Ao3.

Angelcore: The Juniper Tree there was this stepmom with a daughter and a stepson, he ends up beheading and killing his stepson with a heavy chest gives her daughter trauma by making her think she killed her stepbrother, fed her husband his son. And then the daughter takes the stepson and burries him under the juniper tree and he turns into a bird going around singing and its basically everything that happens and after he sings he collects presents for his family (which i dont remember) but the last thing he got was a heavy mill wheel, and he came back to his house and sung; his stepsister came out he gave her her present. Same thing with the father, and when his stepmom came out he dropped the heavy mill wheel on her head and when that killed her he turned back into a little boy.

The Tale of the Tongue Cut Sparrow: there was a old farmer and his wife and they befriended a sparrow. And early every morning the sparrow would sing to wake the old couple up so they knew when they needed to start working. Their neighbor was a grumpy old lady who hated being woken up early; so she cut out the sparrows tongue and the sparrow flew away. The old couple was heartbroken went on a big journey to find their friend and when they found him the sparrow welcomed them. He fed and entertained them and by the end of the visit he brought out two packages a big one and a little one. It was a present and they got to pick which one they wanted; but the old couple didnt want to take to much from their friend so they chose the smaller one and headed home. And when they got home and opened it there was gold,silk, and jewels.

Their grumpy neighbor saw and wanted treasure too so she asked the old couple how to find the sparrow saying she wanted to apologize when she found him he was a nice host again and again offered the two packages. The mean lady took the biggest one and when she got home SNAKES! Spiders! All sorts of creepy crawlies that devoured her.

I also loved Edger Allen Poe as a small child and would ask my grandma to read me his stories for bed.

Softcore: Tea, Baths, My bfs clothing/Blankets, the bottle of his cologne i bought (basically i want his smell) Candy, Meditation, Journaling, Video Games ( Fighting if I’m angry or need to get out energy Puzzle/Rhythm games if I’m upset. Basically the last two need a-lot of focus and are distracting)

Cyberpunk: love robots! They are cute and fascinating and if i wasn’t dyscalculic i would have totally joined the robotics club. However i HATE AI. I think people who make ai are jokes who want instant gratification and attention without doing any work or having any valid skills or any real things to offer. I also think they are lazy, just learn how to create like a normal person. So it kind of depends on the type of artificial intelligence

Vaporwave: Not even trying to be edgy here; but most of what i have is nightmares/night terrors (you know where i scream/cry in my sleep) they have been a chronic thing since i was a small child; typically stress triggered and i don’t feel comfterble sharing what their about but what i will say are they are trauma related. I drive people crazy talking about my “good nightmares” but i mean they’re fun! I enjoy them! Don’t get me wrong they still shake me up, but once i calm down it’s a good time. Like staring in my own personal horror movie with no real negative repercussions. And like i always die terribly and brutally but they are really pretty and interesting. Like the “dream” that looked like it was a painting, and i was on a stage being chased by a monster having to dodge falling sandbags and shit. And i died and it was graphic and then i was watching the cops as a ghost while they were trying to solve my murder and was kind of stuck there and the cops were SO DUMB.

Steampunk: i think it would be really cool if i had like tony stark computer tech. But use it for video games.

i had to pick a neutral option because i feared like, its so stupid, but i had this thing say like "ohh wings are like so important to our relationship with apollon lets choose that" but then like "ok but if we get close enough to asmodeus for nicknames & symbols or whatever then we'll feel bad so" does that make sense????? im sorry lol

i decided to go with🦉because owls are my newest special interest at the moment, i hope thats ok!! (& speaking of nicknames, THANK YOUUU for wanting to give me a proper way of addressing, i love nicknames so much, ugh)

but, i don't wanna overwhelm you or anything with my questions, so i'll for 1 make this the last one for the day, and 2, do you have boundaries do you have that i should keep in mind?

and, you said anything can be devotional, how i can decide whats big and whats not.. thats so freeing but so worrying lol. like we know, i cant practice openly, so i try to do "discreet" things. for apollon, i paint for him, devote a plush and give offerings of matching jewelry, ect. i find it super easy to do devotional things! but, with the way i've seen people paint infernals in general online, it scares me to think i'll be like "my king!! (insert nickname or smth), i made you this!" or "i did this in honor of you!" and him going "... ok??"

i actually used to work with dionysus! (i plan to continue when i move out, but,) unfortunately i did have to distance myself and focus on a single deity, because i suck at multi-tasking my worship, and i have a serious fear of spending "too much" time with a deity, or, "too little." i don't want any of my deities to feel "unloved" or something because i feel shy or something around them at first.

i don't wanna seem weird, or cringey. especially with how sometimes i'll have to just randomly put up my pendulum or something in the middle of a conversation because my mom walked in or something.

i've seen a lot of people say "oh lucifer hates people with trauma" or something, and i know asmodeus isnt lucifer, but it's a little scary to think i'll end up ugly-crying in front of him one day and he's just gonna disappear. i really hate the thought of being abandoned, especially by my deities, so i get so skeptical of them at some point. like, apollon was reassuring me like 5 times a day or something that he wasn't tricking me, hating me, going to just pack his bags and dip out randomly, ect. and it scares me to think asmodeus is going to see my trauma, and, idk, laugh? i know it ultimately comes up to how our relationship goes, but, i genuinely feel safe with king, he doesn't scare me, per say. i just, don't know.

It's a very valid concern to worry about spending "too much" or "too little" time with your deities. I worry about that all the time with my five about to be six! I think you made the right choice going for something neutral!

I also understand, the gut wrenching fear of a deity abandoning you. It's not necessarily abandoning you. Many deities come with lessons, and once they've taught you their lessons, they'll leave.. It's sad, and hurts. When Lucifer and Lilith left me, it took everything in my power to not bawl. It hurt, but they had taught me what I needed to know, and knew I would be ok without them by my side.

Deities may be made out as if they don't want anything to do with your life outside of worship, but that's how you build a more personal relationship! Ugly crying in front of your deities isn't anything to apologize for, it's human. Naturally and truly human. You don't have to apologize for being human.

Deity work is alot, but i truly believe you'll make it through without being abandoned.

You can decide what's "big" and "little" based off anything! Expense, size, how it looks, etc!

All of these things can make something a big or little offering or devotion. But even if something dedicated to a deity isn't indicative of how worthy it is of a deity!

Is it okay to say you don't like a certain ship and that you're looking for people who love the same character you do who don't ship it either because the fandom is unfriendly to those who don't like the popular fanon pairing? Is it okay to tag that with 'anti'? Does that deserve getting hate/bullied?

It's okay to not like ships! Honestly, I'm not really active in certain subsections of the SW fandom due to the prevalence of my NOTP.

I can also sympathize, in most fandoms there's one pairing that's fucking everywhere. It can be so frustrating sometimes.

The one thing I would point out is that multishippers can ship the main otp and other ships, and that is likely isn't as binary as you perceive it. I'd personally phrase it was a "No talking about A x B" friend group, as opposed to a "for people who don't ship A x B" friend group.

That being said, I'd base my decision on if I'd tag it as #anti a x b or not is 100% on how toxic the fandom is. For instance, if this was The Owl House, I would without a doubt. If it was a more mature fandom (emotionally, not in subject matter), I wouldn't. That being said, I'd err on the side of caution.

But even if you put "A x B is the saddest ship ever and I hate it with my entire guts" flame, you don't deserve to be bullied. Nobody deserves that.

Nonetheless, you hadn’t had much to complain about. Because you were all too happy to have the chance to catch up with Kuroo. He had, of course, been lately busy with training camp going on.

You catch his eye, offering a bright smile as you make your way into the gym. All eyes fall on you at your intrusion, but Bokuto being the way he always is, continues on with his conversation with Kuroo, quite loudly if you were being honest.

“It’s honestly thanks to you, man,” he sends a jab to Kuroo’s side, “that that puppy is now safe and all warm and happy in it’s new home. Without you, it would’ve probably starved, maybe even to death, and--”

Sending a look Kuroo’s way at Bokuto’s words, to which the man only blushes, you come to a stop in front of the two, as the other’s gather around them. “Hello boys,” you greet warmly, tilting your head to the side in a greeting that has Kuroo’s stomach fluttering with butterflies of all things and he’s almost completely enamored by the presence of you.

“Y/N/N!”

At least until he nearly goes deaf at Bokuto’s boisterous greeting.

Kuroo straightens out the second Bokuto’s arm leaves his shoulders, letting out a small sigh at the relief it puts on his already tired muscles. But Bokuto seems all too oblivious, his attention now fully on you as the rest stare on in wonder. Well, at least, Lev and Tsukishima seem curious, Akaashi looks like this is a daily occurrence for him.

“I did not see you come in at all,” he adds, putting a little too much emphasis on his words.

You just seemed confused, baffled even -- which was a lot given that Bokuto didn’t really make sense most of the time. And Kuroo can’t help the small smile that curls onto his lips when you once again look towards him for some kind of guidance, to which he simply shrugs, and the two of you, in his opinion, share your own little moment.

“Ah, well, anyways,” you laugh lightly, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear and Kuroo shamelessly watches the movement of your hand with great focus. “I came to grab you guys because they’re about to put dinner away and start cleaning up for the night and I didn’t want you--ahh!”

A squeak leaves your lips as you’re all but suddenly swept up into a pair of strong arms, your feet leaving to comfortable ground beneath you completely. It takes you a moment, a blink or two before you realize it’s Bokuto whose got you all wrapped up in his arms, cheering loudly; “you’re an absolute savior, Y/N/N! I’m starving!”

Frowning, Kuroo steps forward; “put her down, dumbass. Before you drop her.”

Bokuto heeds, but the second you’re back on your own two feet, a little dizzy if nothing else, he’s sending a pout the boys way. “Moo... You’re so cruel, Kuroo.” But his sadness doesn’t last as Akaashi simply reminds him the two of them better start heading towards the cafeteria before the foods all gone, pointing towards the door Lev and Tsukishima have already made their way out of.

“Hey hey hey!” Bokuto cheers, voice booming as he drags Akaashi along with him.

Kuroo and you watch the two run off, realizing a second later that it’s just the two of you left.

“Did you eat?” Kuroo asks you, pulling your attention on him as he moves forward.

You nod, smiling softly. “I ate with Kenma,” you explain, “and I put a plate aside for you.”

Kuroo’s eyes gleam. “How thoughtful,” he whistles, pressing a hand right above his heart before sending you a smirk. “I never thought you cared about me so much, Y/N/N.”

You flush lightly, “sh-shut up,” you huff, picking up the speed in your step. “I made one for Lev too, of course!”

But, in reality, you didn’t.

“Didn’t you save a kid from drowning once?”

It’s breakfast the next morning, and instantly you’re one sided focus on your breakfast is interrupted as Bokuto’s words drift towards you. Swallowing the food in your mouth, you look up from your spot across from the two boys, quirking a curious brow.

“You did?” You question, attention focused solely on Kuroo -- thus, you miss the sly grin that grows on Bokuto’s lips.

“Well, not--” He cuts off by a groan, Bokuto’s elbow hitting him directly in the gut and sending an unpleasant feeling throughout his entire body. Kuroo sends the boy a sharp glare, but he only responds with a harsher one, subtly tilting his head in your direction as if Kuroo was dumb.

Oh.

Oh...

so this was Bokuto’s plan? Come up with obscure heroic acts to brag about for the sake of impressing you for him... He had to admit it was a good plan, and not a complete lie. He had found a puppy once on the side of the street, but hadn’t necessarily nursed it back to health himself. And there was that one time his cousin had been drowning in the pool, but Kuroo had been too busy laughing at his misfortune to focus on saving him and oh-- what the hell.

Why not?

“I-I did, yes,” Kuroo nods, turning to you with a smirk. “My cousin.”

“That’s right,” Bokuto grins, clapping his hands. “Your mother went on and on about it that one time I came over. She wouldn’t stop gushing about how brave you were.” 

Kuroo eyes you and honestly, you seem a little skeptical if the narrowing of your eyes was any telling. But, you were smiling that cute little smile of yours and you seemed amused nonetheless -- not to mention your attention was focused on him, so, Kuroo felt Bokuto’s plan, despite how odd it seemed to compliment the idiot, was actually working.

“Well then,” you smile over at Kuroo, eyes twinkling with delight. “I’ll make sure to bring you along the next time I go swimming. I absolutely suck.”

Kuroo practically beams with praise.

“Of course!”

“Isn’t it kind of bad to... lie?”

“Nah, nah, see, my padawan,” Kuroo pointedly chooses to ignore that comment, “we’re not really lying. Just bending the truth a little.”

“It still seems wrong,” Kuroo frowns, “I don’t want her to be disappointed when she learns I’m not actually that amazing of a person.”

Frowning, Bokuto’s expression turns suddenly serious at that. He promptly sets his hand on his friends shoulder, squeezing tightly in what he’s sure is a reassuring way (but honestly, Kuroo is more weirded out then anything) and sends the boy a wistful look (he just looks like an owl) before nodding; “you aren’t.”

Kuroo blinks. Once, twice, and then all but rips Bokuto’s hand off of him; “what the hell man!”

“Don’t get mad,” Bokuto cries, holding his hands up in surrender. “I’m just telling the truth. We’ve painted you out to be some war hero or something--”

“Hardly.”

“--And you’re definitely not--”

“We don’t know that.”

“But fear not,” Bokuto grins, sending him a thumbs up, “my plan will work.”

And honestly, Kuroo figured it was too late to back out now.

“And then he pulled a itty-bitty-kitty from burning in a house--”

“Tetsuro?”

All falls silent as you speak, and Kuroo, wincing, turns to look at you. “Yes?”

Smile never faltering, you tilt your head to the side; “can I speak to you for a minute?”

“Um,” hating the way his chest tightens and everything seems to close in on him, Kuroo forces himself to respond. “O-Of course,” he nods, moving to walk in step with you but not without sending a pointed, somewhat panicked look back at Bokuto who seems plainly oblivious to the fact that they’ve been caught in their lie as he sends him a grin and a thumbs up.

This was so not good.

You don’t stop until the two of you are out of the gym, in the cool night air, away from any prying eyes or ears to listen in on the conversation. Kuroo finds himself uncharacteristically nervous and he almost feels like he’s going to vomit as he prepares himself for your lecture.

You’d have every right, and that’s something he can’t argue against, and he curses himself because he knew he shouldn’t have let Bokuto continue spouting these absurd stories that were so clearly meant to brag and--

“You know you don’t have to make up absurd stories to get my attention right?”

And Kuroo blinks but you seem so entirely not angry that he’s stunned silent.

“I mean, I’ll admit I believed them at first,” you laugh lightly, and the sound of it is so soothing to Kuroo. “But honestly, there’s no need to try and get my attention because... because--” and then you falter, and Kuroo blinks as he notices your gaze lower and your cheeks warm, as if you’re embarrassed--

“I already notice you. Just the way you are.”

Did he... did he hear that correctly?

Was that... was that meant to be a confession?

You’d just confessed to him, and Kuroo’s so completely in his own head with disbelief that he doesn’t realize with each passing moment you’re growing more and more unsure.

“Unless,” you squeak, causing Kuroo to blink down at you. “Unless I misread the situation and you weren’t trying to get my attention. Which if that’s the case, i’m so--”

But you never finish because in the next second Kuroo’s lips are pressed firmly against your own and his arms are slipping around your waist, pulling you flush against him he pours his absolutely everything into that kiss like he’s being dying to do since you walk through those gym doors three years ago.

“Yes, operation get-Y/N-to-notice-Kuroo a success!”

“What an original name...”

“Were you watching us?”

“Bokuto!”
