this might end up being really long and rambly and sappy but maybe not who knows.( it was) (and also featuring numerous spelling errors i am way too tired to fix and i am not re reading what i just wrote) SO. yknow how when chap idek..25(?) came out and i was all like “yeah so i made this animation for TNV and ill drop it when the fic ends” in your ask box? so. I FINISHED IT RAHHH. technically it has been finished since i sent that ask but ohhh my goodness did it need polishing. i haven’t animated in 4 years before that and omg it felt so good getting back into it but IDFK SOMETHING IS STILL NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS. i feel like i could have done so much more with it and i deffo wanted to but as soon as i told myself “oh yeah this is basically done” art block literally sucker punched me in the gut out of NOWHERE. I COULD NOT PICK UP MY I PAD. I COULD NOT DRAW. I WOULD STARE AT THE WIP ANIMATION AND BE UPSET BC I DDINT WANNA WORK ON IT AHH. that goes with saying. i kept having this thought in the back of my head “you need to finish it. you have a wip sitting. finish it. go do it. what are you doing are you STARTING ANOTHER PROJECT??? anddd yeah i got super distracted with other stuff and other projects and then i started spending my free time rewatching 2012 turtles and omg this summer has been a mess. i have all the free time in the world and i choose to be the least productive as possible with it even though i have a job that lets me literally sit on my phone and do whatever i want if no one is there. (i’ve brought my switch to work numerous times ☠️) what i was trying to get at is the fact that TNV has inspired a lot of the old me to come back and i lowk missed her. i really missed the point in all those words up there but im here now so whatever. BUT. TNV made me make a tumblr account, i got back in to animation AND digital art in general, got back into longfics that are ongoing, AND it also helped kickstart ideas for writing. i’ve got so many stories now!! you are such an inspirational person pastels i just- every time i read a new chapter of yours it made me wanna go get up and do something. i wanted to create something. because at the end of each chapter, i would think- “woah. a person out there just wrote this. they just sat down one day and committed. i wanna do that” so i did that. just huge thank you and shoutout to you pastel. like damn. idk no words from me here. just a bunch of platonic hugs and kisses and thankyouthankyouthsnkuou for this lovely heart wrenching but also sweet story. i love this fandom (tmnt) so SO much and i think it’s so awesome how interactive you are with your own personal NV fans. crazy how we’re all here because of a bunch of turtles. 

STUFF ABOUT THE ANIMATION:

okay i really like to talk and if you let me, i will run my mouth. this is the internet so im gonna do just that. so more words for you to read 😁. AHEM. so like i stated before in the genuinely scary mess of words up there, i haven’t touched animation in a while, like, 4 years a while. yes i’ve done digital art here and there along the years, i haven’t been doing it nearly as much as i need to to use some programs to their full potential. layers are still confusing, and don’t even get me started on multiply and all that jazz. shading never comes out right on digital for me, i gotta work that one out. so, for this animation, i decided to go with a very rough style. nothing needed to be perfect, i just wanted to live my little life of trying to experiment with a bunch of different things all at once in one short animatic. I wanted to do that little ball bounce thing all animation artists start with (i kinda included that with the key). i also wanted to have a go at lip sync (no hate it was my first time) and also timing the animation with the music. i wanted to see how smoothly i could move a figure in and out of and out of the screen as well, which honestly, i think that part might be my favorite. i think i did a good job, and thats what matters. the animation itself lost a bunch of quality on importing it- no clue how it happened but now the ending is grainy af. ignore that pls lol- but it was sitting in my flipaclip for god, i dont even know, 3 months now? i kept going back and forth on if i wanted to share it or not, so im throwing it to the wolves and i guess whatrver happrns happens and im good with that. yay. im actually rrwlly tired now sooo *leaves this absolute pile of words with a video attached at your feet and stumbles away quickly*

also i’ve genuinely never posted anything so i’m learning how to use tumblr too ☠️

if you have paid any attention to my ramblings on my process, you know that i tend to rethink my comics and toss out a lot of work if im not satisfied with how it turned out. so i thought id share some previews of comics that have gone unseen, and why they havent been posted (yet?) in order of how likely i am to finish and/or post them :)

Be nice to each other: Main 4. Tomtord/Polyworld, angst. 4 pages. Matt confronts Tom and Tord on how have been acting, accidentally compelling them into saying how they really feel.

Status: abandoned.

I drew this one quite a while ago and i still really like the dialogue and character interactions i wrote for it! vampire hypnosis is a super cool concept and im definitely going to use it in the future, but this ultimately didnt pan out how i wanted it to.

Why it's not posted: while the buildup and climax are really good, this would be a huge mess to clean up. this would require some serious work both between the four of them and on my part for writing and drawing all of that!! plus, it would totally change the relationship dynamic between Tom and Tord, possibly ending it altogether (and i still have so much i want to do with them!!!)

Ed and Edd: Eduardo, Edd, Eduardo's mother. No pairings, angst. 3 pages. Eduardo can't wait to introduce himself at school, but he's got competition for the name he chose.

Status: abandoned.

Trans Eduardo is such a good concept. imagine figuring out who you are only to find out someone else already is that. of course you're going to hate them.

Why it's not posted: two main reasons. one is that i couldn't figure out how to end the comic (a recurring theme lol), but another is that i'm still not super confident with writing Eduardo yet. ...or writing children. so kid Eduardo is a challenge.

Can't tell where you're looking: Tommatt, fluff. 3 pages. Tom isn't as sneaky as he thinks he is.

im combining this because omg imagine xavier drawing you and hes just obsessed with your wings and body… anyways imma get writing

initially, when you approached xavier about the idea of doing a portrait of you, he loved it.

considering he had done many sketches of your beautiful face, it should be easy.

but then you clarified what you meant.

“can you draw me like one of your french girls, xavier?” you mimicked rose from the movie, titantic.

you leaned against your boyfriend, your wings wrapping around him enough to make him flustered.

he spun around in his stool, his eyes full of admiration. he put his hands on your waist and brought you closer.

“you know i always draw you, baby.” xavier told you, referring to the multiple portraits he had done of you.

“what if i want you do draw me with my wings? with only my wings…” you trailed off. the look you gave xavier was suggestive and he couldn’t help but feel excitement.

so now, as you stood in front of xavier in nothing but a robe in the center of his dorm, he couldn’t help but feel flustered.

“where do you want me, baby?” you teased, seeing your boyfriend blush.

“how about you lay on the bed.” xavier grabbed a chair and brought it over. he watched as you gracefully dropped the robe before laying down.

his eyes roamed your naked body. he had seen it numerous times before, but for some reason this seemed more intimate.

“you’re so beautiful, y/n.” xavier whispered as he began to sketch.

you grinned at your boyfriend. he always made you feel special.

the focus look on his face as he drew you was enough to make you flustered. being so vulnerable while he memorized every part of you was intimidating.

“relax, baby. your wings are moving.”

xavier knew when you got flustered or embarrassed your wings would tend to show your emotions more than your face.

for instance, your wings had began to scrunch together instead of being fully displayed.

that’s one of the things xavier loved most about you. the way he could always tell how you felt by your wings.

he loved everything about you. he was quite literally smitten by you, ever since he first saw you.

you were never scared to be yourself.

xavier finally finished your face when he began to draw your boobs. the memories of him leaving hickies, kissing them, sucking them made xavier blush.

“what’s got you blushing, pretty boy?”

“you.”

“i’m not doing anything.” you laughed.

Beach Episode (Venture X GN! Reader)

went to the beach, brain cooking up ideas yknow how it is. (im coming for Space Ranger after that nasty kick)

Slight suggestive, kissin',

Planning for the trip at the beach is something more of your kind of thing meanwhile Sloan packs and carries mostly everything into your vehicle of choice as well as unloading everything while looking for a spot. You'd of course appreciate the effort but you worry for their arms considering they always hold that heavy-duty drill of their nearly every hour of work...but also you can't help but take a peak of their flexing muscles withholding all of the weight not to mention how good they look in their swim shorts and skin tight top.

"...Me? Nah i'm okay baby! I promise everything you see is lighter than anything I'd have to move back at work."

Sloan would try their hardest not to immediately run into the crashing waves after finding the perfect spot. But they huff before giving you a quick kiss on the cheek with a small jump of excitement as they drop the cooler into the golden sand as you smooth out the chosen sheet, kicking both your shoes and letting your feet rest into the sand with a sigh. Until the sun's heat radiating off the sand makes you hop on top of the sheet and finally take out the umbrella making it dig into the sand with ease.

After taking in the beautiful sight of the beach you turn to Sloan noticing their grin which quickly fades away as you pull out the sunblock. It's not that Sloan hates sunblock nor wants to get any sunburnt, they just REALLY want to get into the waves as soon as possible.

"I don't want you to get sunburnt then have you complained about being sunburnt and needing aloe!"

"Alright alright! I hear ya. And..."

They draw off averting their eyes. You know that look, they want something...

"What.? Sloan...if it's about me coming in with you I will soon okay.?"

They perk up with their iconic smile pulling you into a tight hug under the cool shade and giving you a small shake when they pull away offering their hand out allowing you to put a dollop of sunscreen on their hand to which they quickly get to work with their arms and face letting you cover their back. You don't know it but they of course smile with feeling your hands message and smooth out the sunscreen into all of their poking muscles and exposed skin, they can't help but tease when you pull back their top just to be extra safe from the ever-burning sun.

"Oh.? Not here baby there's family here..."

"Shut up I just don't want my partner to cry and whine when they get beaten up by the sun...again."

With a scoff, you turn them around most likely knowing they left some unrubbed spots on their face. To which your thumbs gently press into the missed spots, while focused on their eyebrows and cheeks you notice Sloan's cheeky smirk with their chipped tooth peaking out. With this, you finish up on their face giving them a light playful slap on the cheek and with a nod they rush out from the protecting shade of the umbrella and soon join the screaming round of kids and teens jumping into the water with a whoop...until a wave comes from behind and knocks them into the water. You can't help but break into laughter as you lather on sunscreen yourself.

Eventually, soon enough Sloan comes over back to your spot dripping wet, their hair flopped over their face like wet dog with a giggle they shake all of the water off grinning at you.

"Whoo! Man there are some real breakers out there.! You should come with me soon."

"Alright, I will! But how about we do it after lunch, mkay baby.?"

You both agree to go to the water after lunch which is packed in a comically romantic picnic basket full of the choice of both Sloan's and your favorite foods, in the cooler Sloan also stuffed a tub of vanilla ice cream which they save around sunset. But back to finishing off lunch, Sloan tugs on your hand with puppy eyes begging for you to swim with them.

"Come on! We need to go before the water settles again.!"

To which you of course don't want to disappoint your lover you follow them letting the grip on your hand turn into a simple hand-holding as the cold but refreshing water hits your toes but Sloan keeps on walking as the wave pulls back which overlaps into a bigger wave. Soon enough the water becomes cool as it reaches up your highs.

"Ugh isn't this the best day ever.?!"

Sloan yells letting go of your hand then flopping into the water, and before you think they pull you into the water with a yelp crashing into their body surrounded by the saltwater. This takes you by surprise but you can never be made with your lover as they hold you tight by your waist, they hold a smirk with how close they are holding you, you could swear they saw them leaning in for a kiss until they say this.

"Mi diamante, you are burning up..."

It takes a moment to realize that you haven't put on not even a pennyworth of sunblock on your skin as you slap a hand to you cheek feeling it's unnatural warmth as you snap out of you thoughts with Sloan clicking their tongue disappointed.

"Aye aye baby, and here I thought I was going to burn!"

They break out of their flirty tone with a cheeky smile soaking in the fact that you are going to be sore and red for the next few days. Having to rely on them for the time being but we are only at the beach. You huff letting yourself take in the shame as you think of a lil something to get back.

"Yknow what Sloan.? It'll be fine because I'll be doing this..."

You tightly wrap your arms around them pulling them back in the water as a wave washes over you, quickly pulling up to slam your lips into theirs, their eyes widen but they don't resist it pushing themselves even closer letting the mix of your lips mesh into one. The kiss only lasts as long as the wave covers the two of you which is a decent amount of time. Eventually, the prolonged time kissing leaves Sloan having to pull away flushed and breathless for a moment their eyes trained on your lips desperate for more but the wave is long gone for more kissing so they look at into yours.

"How about that my lovely Sloan.?"

"Oh god... Golly- I mean gosh... Your kisses are making more heaved than the actual beach.."

"We can always do, more. Yknow...Back at home."

Without a moment to think they grab your hand again pulling you out of the water, dragging you back to the spot. Your suggestion seems to inspire your lover as they quickly gather up everything you set out. Of course, you help them out but they stay quiet keeping their eyes on you eventually moving back into the vehicle the drive home is also just as silent with you trying to make some conversations to which Sloan gives quick answers It is clear they are focused on getting home to fully love you and your lips.

When they finally pull out into the driveway they don't even bother taking out the stuff into your shared home, they wait for you grabbing your wrist pulling you in rushing you into the bedroom to which they pin and tower over you with flushed cheeks.

"My god... The things you do to me mi amor."

They press their lips into your hard to which you grab the sides of Sloan's cheeks, a leg wraps around their waist pulling them closer to you, you chuckle with the kiss as they muffle a gasp. They groan with a newfound growing pressure in their tummy as they rest their hips onto you making you pull away to breathe, they are ruthless as they take advantage of your exposed neck laying hot long kisses on every spot they can see.

"Sloan! I didn't know you could be that riled up..."

You let your hand sift through their hair before getting a fist full and giving it a good tug, they pull back from your neck huffing and lips swollen from the kisses.

"Its your fault you know that.?"

You groan as Sloan pushes you further into the bed, the sunburns add a sudden wave of pain which makes Sloan draw back worried. They pull you up realizing how much of a haze they were amidst jumping from the beach straight into the bedroom. They hold your hands falling back into their goofy state with a smile.

"Geez I didn't realize how burnt you've gotten... Maybe we should take care of that before we do anything else."

Their cheeks flush with slight shame and embarrassment to which you ease them with a chuckle holding them and letting them rest on your thighs.

"I'll be fine! Just will need you to rub some aloe into me.."

You say with a wink giving them a small kiss on the lips before groaning feeling the tightness and heat of the many sunburns which makes Sloan jump from the bed into the kitchen. What a goofball they can truly be.

hello! I’ve never sent and ask before-so I hope I’m doing this right!!

so I had an idea for an au based on one of ur posts- I’m not sure what universe it would be in but here’s the idea, (it could go in the round 7 Ivan v Luka au but u can make the call)

so for publicity and probably “breeding purposes ��� the aliens decided to put together an arranged marriage there two favorite stars, using all this cute concepts they found from humans old culture! Obviously as the #1 most popular human right now Ivan is offered for this idea- but they aren’t told who he will be marrying until later. Ivan has at this point accepted that Till will never love him so he tells his owners he’s okay with it(he feels like without the need to protect till anymore he really has nothing of himself left)

So now Ivan is engaged, to drum roll…..

Luka obviously! And since Ivan has over time been made even more docile he doesn’t even blink and goes along with all the things he’s told to do. When he is told to give Luka a kiss he does when he is told to hold hands with him he does. And as this goes on i think Luka develops that sorta possessive thing he does so he looks at Ivan like “this is mine “

and then once they are further into the wedding planing process, Ivan receives communication from the rebellion like “hey we can u out of there”(that are obviously from till but Ivan doesn’t know that) and to tills shock Ivan says no, he nothing he wants is his to have so what difference does it make if he marries someone he does not love.

the messages continue as the wedding draws nearer and nearer, and Ivan continues to say no (in encreasingly sad and depressed ways that only make till worry more)

then on the day of the wedding till and the rebels crash the wedding! (And maybe it’s right at the does anyone object portion) and they try to take Ivan away , Ivan obviously will go wherever till asks but Luka stops them and says that Ivan is his and they can’t have him! So then till is like ugh whatever if u won’t let us take him u can just come too-

so they all run away and now Ivan is in a love triangle between a guy who he is technically engaged/(married to if they managed to finish the ceremony) who he has grown to care for and is deeply possessive over and his first love !!! The drama!!!

LMAO!! might i add: ivan grows a sort of dependency on luka?? like, theoretically, nothing is growing—but luka is giving ivan hourly doses of physical and other affection that ivan had not had in his life before.

im going off chinese wedding traditions (...or maybe only in dramas, idk) here where the rebels kidnap ivan and luka when they're in the bridal chamber. so they are married, and the last step to truly officiate it is by fucking...which they do in the rebellion base at some point. marital duties, everyone!

so, back in the rebel base while till and luka have animosity together, ivan (very subtly) signals for affection from luka. till is watching, fists clenched, ready to punch the guy like mizi did.

and everyone, really, kinda hates luka except for ivan who has a weird dependency on him. one night, luka is like, let's run away. ivan agrees and they run off to the sunset together.

(i think ivan sees how his presence affects till: till flushes red, is more prone to anger, etc... thus, he thinks it'll do till good if he weren't there)

Big fckn redesigns here. Well mostly Charlie but Vaggie somewhat too 🥰🥰

Blue fits Charlie soooo much and I cease to see that many redesigns with this color. I still want red to be used in most of their designs because well. They are in hell, but not too present so to make way for other unique colors. Charlie has several physical traits from her parents but also she has some details in her clothes that match with them. When I uhh, introduce their designs you'll see lmao. I also tried to make her have a more roundish design, I jst LOVE those typ of designs omg. I just want the characters with not too many sharp corners pls Viv bro... 😔 oh yeah she's mixed cuz her mom's are darker in their redesigns. Alot of their genetics went down to Charlie so she doesn't look like an exact copy of Lucifer, I kind of hate that trend with hh and hb characters, like did the moxxies dad give birth to him bro 😭 also I kept her bow because it looks so cute and silly on her it just fits, I wish they made it bigger in her show design because it would fit her silliness so much. She has a cape with stars because morningSTAR smh why didnt they do something fun with that, missed potential but whatevs yknow I still love og designs no matter what anyone sayss. The wife ever. I had animation in mind more when I designed her, not like in a "How easy or hard would this be to animate" way. Vaggie's is in her armor. She has several pairs of armor lying around in the hotel in completely hidden spots. It's kind of surprising uhh. Yeah she wears it alot more than Charlie wears her alt uniform but still rare to find her in it. I don't get the whole thing with the exterminators and them not being able to fight according to Carmilla. Which is kinda stupid, I'm not gonna lie. So, instead of that, Vaggie has just let her guard down and has gotten much more comfortable in her surroundings so she feels like she doesn't need to fight anymore, she's just gotten rusty 's what I'm sayin. i’ll be honest i have bare minimum info on raphael, all i know is that he owns a punishment room and he doesn’t seem to hate the mc (why in the world would kidnapping the mc into heaven be a good idea ever).

How much time do you spend planning some of your visual novels? At least going by some of them being jam submissions, it feels like you go from pre-production to a finished build very quickly, and it's amazing how you can manage that while still having an awesome story and so many assets.

Also, what is like, the process of planning a story out for you, if there's any vague or concrete similarities that you've noticed?

i think the important context here is that if i get bored/have nothing to do i jhust immediately get really suicidal its like ridiculous how bad it gets(ITS FINE DONT WORRY ABOUT IT IVE HAD 5 YEARS OF THERAPY). so i hate being bored and want to occupy my time wit something fun whatever that is. if i have a project to focus on but especially if I'm working for a game jam i have a deadline and i just decide to myself okay i will release a game now.

because ive made a decent amount of games i roughly have an idea on my capabilities, i can estimate how long it takes for me to write a story so and so long and how long it takes for me to draw stuff i need and how long it takes for me to throw stuff in renpy. these are estimates like as in I'm not accurate with it but still enough that i generally know where to start cutting ideas since the most important part is just having something to submit. i also know to plan around my brain wanting to slam my head into a wall an my hands suddenly giving up on being able to draw.

i think thats the beauty of game jams it forces you to just go for it and release something. releasing a 'bad' game is better than no game at all. experience only comes over time and i think just going for it is the best approach there is. like its literally 2 weeks 1 month whatever of your life. if you have the time and motivation go for it. make it work or fuck it up it wont matter in the grand scheme of things

im not sure what is the motivation behind the question but i do want to point out that this is just my method (if you can even call it a method) and the only way to figure out what works for you is to just try until you find something that actually works for you

idk not everyone will find it doable/fun to plan around spending two weeks gamedev 10 hours a day just cause i wanted to fit in 100 cgs for a jam game but apparently i can do that when i cheat my stupid adhd brain into hyperfocus with adhd meds

as for planning tho i think ideas on their own are worthless and its always about execution in the end. a great idea or a meh idea are the same for me but i do still enjoy the planning process so i keep notes

like i see a great tumblr post or i see some art or visual novel has some scene that inspires me: i save that shit for myself

having a big collection of random floating ideas like that helps me easily pick from especially during a jam type duration. right now i have like 4-5 half-baked project skeletons, some are literally like 3 pictures and some like naomida are a hundred hours worth of me writing world building about how the toilets work in a city with no plumbing cause its -30celcius(i love bringing this up)=

i dont normally plan that much, i tend to just wing it. like for malmaid i seriously just had some rough ideas and just went along as i wrote

same thing for dddeviance i had a handful of scenes that i really wanted to make and knew what kind of start and end it was meant to have and just figured out how to fill the in between. a lot of plot points changed vastly like halfway through i realised my devil + angel combination was stupid and i should just go for fallen angel + angel.

i think there really is no simple answer tho (as evident from the long as hell post) i don't really have a 'process' because every single game has been worked on has come with different type of planning since I'm always trying new stuff to try and distract me from boredom. like I've been using obsidian for naomida while previously I've just used a empty discord serve as my notes app for malmaid and dddeviance

and tbh with naomida I'm running to a new problem where I'm definitely planning too much. like I'm spending too much time fidgeting with details in chapter 4 even when i haven't finished writing chapter 1 just cause its so easy to get in the loop of "oh ill just change this one line" and boom 20 mins spent playing with my notes that didn't really progress my game since by the time i reach this point the whole scene might have shifted to something else

but if i had to squeeze an answer itd be something like everything related to my art or writing or games is just like "oooooo that seems fun i should remember this for later" and then i just string 10-100 of those into a story

and just like start filling in more details and working on my story in a nonlinear fashion until i feel like i have a strong enough skeleton that i can start writing my scenes. i hop around a lot, often preferring to write the fun scenes first like ero stuff or the ones I'm the most interested in and then the rest is just filling the blanks and stringing the cool scenes together

thank you!!! Im not great at giving art advice but i can try lol…

here are some rules i try my best to follow to this day when im aiming to improve:

make art a habit: mileage isnt everything, but it certainly helps!! It’s much harder to improve if youre rarely creating.

dont be afraid of making mistakes, but always try to understand the mistakes you make. If something doesn’t look right, try your best to figure out why!! you’ll get better at catching yourself with time.

get to know the tools you already have instead of fixating on the tools others use. i find that beginners especially tend to obsess over the brushes/programs/tablet/etc. that their favourite artists have, but the truth is that artistic skill is transferable between mediums and no single tool is going to magically make you a better artist. its very easy to get caught in this trap, and i still do sometimes!!

draw the things you want to draw, even if you know they’re beyond your current skill level. taking risks goes hand in hand with my second point—the more mistakes you make, the more you’re going to learn!! and remember that you can always redraw a bad drawing.

go into a drawing knowing roughly what you want to create. mindless doodling is an easy way to make yourself believe that you have no ideas, and it can lead you to hate the act of sitting down to draw. you don’t have to know exactly what the finished product will be like, but make sure you have a tangible goal!!

these aren’t concrete rules you HAVE to follow by any means, but they are things that i wish someone had told me when i started out. i hope you find them useful!

I know triton arent canon in infinights but ive had them as an idea for quite a while now and also theyre a really cool race. I had fun with drawing their markings (ex forearms + mouth) because why not?? A cool detail is that the single strand of hair falling out of their bun is supposed to represent an angerfish antenna thingy, and the markings on their forearms are supposed to be like water splashing. Plus they're in the blue-greenish color variety thingy and I didnt color it bc I was tired af

For their backstory- i thought of the idea of a small group of triton living among the merfolk. At some point- Ethryns parents we're all like "okay when will you get a real job instead of chasing the krill around all day?" And they replied with "im not allowed to chase the krill around all day??"

Since their parents believed paralyte was 'doing the right thing' they sent Ethryn off to become an everguard as a boot camp sort of thing.

They absolutely hate wearing their uniform- which is just a shirt to go over their armor, a cape belt thingy (idk what its rlly called), and boots. I want to make it very clear they dont know what socks are.

Theyve been fired quite a few times but their parents (with quite a lot of convincing) sends them back. Ethryns opinion on the infinights is all "Oh if theyre so powerful and great why do we have to clean up their mess??" And stuff
