Kinda started rereading Dressrosa and... Although I always chalked up the similarities between Crocodile's plan to take over Alabasta and how Doflamingo took over Dressrosa as nothing but Oda reusing similar plot elements but in a slightly different way (just to show us what could've become of Alabasta had Croc gotten away with his schemes, what Luffy helped prevent from happening to begin with)...

Robin's reaction to hearing the story of Dressrosa and HOW Doflamingo took over the country, that simple little "...!!", actually does kind of speak volumes

Like if you wanted canonical evidence to Crocodile having been "inspired" by Doflamingo, then yeah, Robin would be The Person who would pick up on that, she'd be the person who'd be like "hey, that story sounds awfully familiar to what Crocodile did", since he was her boss

Do want to note that, timeline-wise, Doflamingo only took over Dressrosa 10 years ago, where as Crocodile had been Scheming and establishing his position as the Hero of Alabasta for 16 years. Like Croc's intent to obtain Pluton and create his military nation utopia absolutely pre-dates Doffy's takeover, so that wasn't and can't have been inspired by Doflamingo at all. It's more just the plan and method Crocodile ended up going with (framing the king (through a bloodbath) and putting the country in a position without a ruler where he could just yoink it for himself with ease) where the similarity becomes more obvious. But it is also kind of where it ends. Doflamingo wanted Dressrosa because he felt like he was entitled to the island (as his family had been its original rulers and he was a Tenryuubito), and was using the island for his own gains (Smile manufacturing etc, for his dealings with Kaidou), all while having a great distain and hatred of the world and how he had been "wronged" (=Tenryuubito rights revoked). Meanwhile... yeah, Crocodile wanted to create a "utopia", only targetting Alabasta because he believed Pluton was there and because Pluton would be needed for his ideal military nation. That minor difference and Crocodile's clear and great distain and hatred of Doflamingo combined...

Yeah, I dunno, this is just interesting to me. God I need Robin and Crocodile to have a lil reunion chat

Like I'll be first to admit I did not enjoy it when it was first unfolding in the early 2010s #But rereading it... It's good man. It's good #Dressrosa gets to much shit it doesn't deserve #Sidenote but yes people are quick to point out how Doffy's crew has DFs that're just more powerful versions of what Baroque Works had #I do not think Croc was recruiting people based on their Devil Fruits like that though. Like that I think really is just Oda reusing ideas #'Cause literally the only people in Baroque Works who Crocodile actually and specifically *needed* to do his thing were Robin (Poneglyph)#And Bon-chan to impersonate Cobra (and thinking about it Galdino+Marianne could've been like a Back Up)#(Like had something happened to Bon-chan then 3 Pair could've created a wax replica of Cobra to frame him for the port attack)#All the other tasks? Could've been done by literally anyone (as long as they were competent enough)#(Maybe Miss Merry Christmas was required for Cobra's kidnapping though considdering how fast she could haul ass etc)

The most appropriate response to what’s happened is very obviously to find a clearance steak for Jack and cook it for dinner with some to add to the dogs’ and cat’s meals. Buy a JUMBO bag of sunflower seeds to spoil the birds. Get myself a slurpee, a big box of freezies and Jack a case of beer. Then just sit in the house, play a good game, and occasionally go “AND ANOTHER THING” in a bitch fest circle

#we haven’t been able to buy anything remotely nice for ourselves because of how much he was leeching #plus if we did buy anything even remotely frivolous like a $3 slurpee #it would immediately be a matter of #I see you have money to spend so where’s money for my Totally Used For His Gas Tank And Not Drugs #so even if we could we would t buy anything nice for ourselves #just pasta and flour to make our own sauce and keep it keep as can be #also got some fruit today!#so excited to eat a fruit!#and if I had bought freezies with him here he would again say we have money so where the money he wants from us #or eat all my freezies in one go #like the $40 box of chocolates he downed a third of in one night #and pretended he only ate one bar #which he never asked to have either #anyways #we’re still financially Tight #but Loose Enough that we can eat something other than $1 bag of pasta and .30$ sauce to sustain life

In 2018, I made Fight Kiddo as a way to vent frustration with some stuff, but I didn't know what to name her 'cause I didn't really wanna call her Fight Kiddo the entire time. I ended up naming her after my grandma, an incredibly kind and loving lady who would not put up with people's bs.

She passed away year ago today (or. a year and a day ago today because tumblr formatting decided to be difficult, sorry) and like. When I say my 2022 sucked I mean like I caught covid the day before she passed away so for me it was just. Yeah it sure was a summer. It was a rough time to say the least but kept the fight goin huh?

I wanted to bring Fight Kiddo back to honor her namesake in a way, and though I can't do much else now besides draw this for her, I do thank you so much for reading along <3

acnl is a superior game to acnh in almost every way except the graphics. it’s actually making me mad

#purrs #working at the roost… mr shrunk… main street … multiple shop upgrades… megaphone (and microphone AND CAMERA on the ds)… villagers have #distinctive personalities and spread rumors and ask to schedule a time to come to your house… pattern grass… kappn island minigames… bananas #and mangos and durians and perfect fruit… the town tree and all the history in it… like idk. i love acnh too but it’s just so hollow and i #wasn’t even around for acnl in its glory days. like i STILL haven’t unlocked all the shops or shop upgrades on acnl or even met Gracie yet #or whatever and on acnh the only thing i need to do is get like 2 more reactions and then ive completed the game. and it just feels #pointless logging on and whatever (ik im saying things that have already been said a million times) bc the villagers are just dolls who say #the same 3 things over and over again. meanwhile eunice and benjamin are two of my og acnl villagers and they’re still there 5 years later #and i log on and talk to them and it’s so rewarding to bc they feel like actual.. people! who i love and who love me. whereas my acnh #villagers who i also love will just carry on exactly as they were no matter how long ive been gone. idk. i just don’t understand why they #decided to downgrade so much for acnh and let go of all these features and characters. i really hope they’ll make another game and that jtll #have everything new leaf had and more. and i mean the new horizons features can stay too (except for diy. i HATE diy)#ac #exterior building customization beyond just houses… sitting on rocks and tree strumps (and tree stumps having patterns)…. 😭💔#the basket where you could put stuff from kappn islands in there so it wouldn’t fill up your inventory….

It always seems a bit unbalanced on The Great Food Truck Race when there will be multiple teams who are cooking a wide variety of complex dishes with 10 different components and a bunch of prep work, and then there's that one team who like... exclusively serves plain crepes with some premade nutella on them, or plain waffles with just some whipped cream and cut up strawberries lol...

#AND then they'll be the winning team or whatever and its like... wow... imagine that... I wonder how its possible that they can get #more dishes out faster than the other teams... hrrmm.... lol #Not that they aren't still doing work like. obviously it's still hard and there's still a sales component and other stuff to be done #but It's just kind of unbalanced seeming when one group is serving like grilled shrimp sandwich with 3 homemade sauces and a #slaw and two sides and the other people are like... slicing fruit and drizzling a bottle of hersheys chocolate syrup on top of some thing #they just threw in a waffle maker for a few minutes #You see the footage of the teams cooking and everyone is like prepping a ton of different things and meat and vegetables and they have #boiling pots and pans and fryers going and tossing stuff in bowls and compiling these multi component dishes #and then That One Team is always just casually slicing bananas or doing some whipped cream in a bowl gbjhbhj #They usually dont even make their own caramel or chocolate sauces or anything. Nutella out of a jar babey!#So all you're really Making is like... whipped cream. and some sort of batter (waffle. crepe. etc)#If I got placed in a competition like that and I found out one of my opponents just sold waffles or pancake sticks or etc #like that I would just be like... okay.. I'm out then. bye. OR I would pivot and be like.. right I shall remove all complexity from my menu #whatsoever and just start selling plain balls of fried dough with powdered sugar or plain fries with nothing on them or something lol #update: OH my god.. one of these teams on a newer season is selling a 'bonus add on' where you can add #cinnamon sugar and caramel syrup (possibly not even home made by them???? just from a bottle) for $5 extra on your order #If I bought a $12 waffle from a food truck and they were like 'hey do you want to upgrade? for only $5 we'll drizzle a teaspoon #of caramel and sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on there!' I feel like I would cancel my order and walk away.#that is a $1 add on at MOST.. for a freaking DRIZZLE of caramel sauce LOL #and of course this team is in the top 3... squirrel.... come ON...#Which I know all these shows are fake and bad and whatever. I dont watch them seriously. I think I liked the first few seasons #but then anything past like season 4 (or whenever they started having established people who already ran food trucks on there #instead of taking a bunch of peope who had never run a food truck before and giving them one - which is a much more equal footing #premise to me) I have just been increasingly annoyed at and I really just have the show on for background noise #whilst doing chores or something and am not genuinely paying that much attention but... my god.. At least try to pretend its fair lol #WHICH I KNOWW... you can say 'well the other teams could do similar if they wanted.' or blah blah. tehcnically it's THEIR choice to #make stuff from scratch and not sell a bunch of packaged frozen chicken wings dropped into a fryer over a shitty 6min waffle or etc.#but... I will never respect a $5 for 1tbsp of caramel sauce type of situation.. even if they win.. you will always be losers in my heart #So many teams with real cooking skill & good concepts go home to the 'slap nutella on fried dough' people... how...

praying the takoyaki party movie turns out better than the last one i really can't handle a flop like that again

#it's not that i hate it and i'm not expecting osomatsu san to ahve the most coherent of storylines #but the first movie set the bar too high i think #all the angst was a little overbearing at times but it was well paced #and the hipipo fruit felt too wild? lacking direction? whenever i thought i knew where the story was going it just kept changing #and i think it also ties with the lack of direction season 3 had and i REALLY hope they sort it out with this movie and s4 #but both had atsushi content and cameos so i wont shit on them too much <3 #text

wish i could gain weight without eating 😭😭😭 like a sims slider i just wanna gain like 15 pounds in 15 seconds is that too much to ask of my body?!?! apparently

#put on shorts i wore when i was 12 and they are TOO BIG #i dont know how much i weigh because i dont have a scale but i was just underweight a few weeks ago #and i have gotten BETTER at forcing myself to eat but i basically only had bread fruit and a monster energy drink yesterday #and by basically i mean... i know thats all i ate #but i mean i ate a lot of bread... like a bagel #half a loaf of french bread and several slices of rosemary sourdough #my mom bought me groceries which i so appreciate but she did not really... buy me healthy foods #like... 3 different bread products... nothing to put on the bread?! when i am in food funks 80% of my nutrition comes from hummus and guac #oh she did buy me soups but my microwave is broken but i literally havent been getting enough calories to HEAT THINGS ON THE STOVE!!!!#they said i might gain weight on zoloft which i was excited before but instead i lost the same amount of weight i lost this summer in half #the time #bc at least this summer i WANTED to eat i just wasnt given long enough breaks at work to eat ENOUGH food #and i was super active. now i am an art hermit not exercisng & going days where 90% of my calories are energy drinks and the occasional carb #i think its a side effect of the meds and not #disordered eating #but im tagging it as that anyway
