WAIT okay- so speaking from a personal mindset- you ever think about how Harry actually had to THINK about what his true worst fear was before he got a Boggart that genuinely emotional wrecks him, just like Molly is wrecked when she sees HER Boggart? Meanwhile, Neville, Ron, and the others just pop one out that's not only easy to deal with but really DOESN'T have the same emotional effect on them? I just remembered that when I read PoA, I thought to myself as a KID "I would see my dead family so I'd have to think of something quick and easy to replace it like a horror movie villain" because of le mental illness.
My point is that I don't think any of those Boggarts were those kids' actual, genuine worst fears. Were they VALID fears? Yes. I won't pretend they aren't. That would be cruel, especially towards characters I like (like Neville!). But from experience, I reeeeally think the intense trauma of certain characters- and their age- shows that those other kids were really afraid of what they viewed to be the biggest threat to them they could currently perceive. They didn't have to think about their real worst fears because as far as they knew, everyone was locked up and Voldemort was gone.
Obviously, none of them saw Death Eaters or Voldemort as potential threats, nor do they have the same specific trauma as say Harry or Molly. I didn't have that trauma either but my own le mental illness caused me to think about what MY Boggart would be in a similar way that Harry considered his. I doubt, if Neville saw a Boggart during OotP, it'd still be Snape and I doubt Ron's would still be a spider after GoF.
#i had a Snape as a kid tbh#i bet once Bellatrix escaped#she absolutely could be Neville's Boggart#is this anything?#harry potter retrospective#rereading harry potter#Hermiones Boggart i think is also genuinely her worst fear#failing and being expelled means leaving the Wizarding World#plus her reaction#harry potter#neville longbottom#severus snape

What are your top five Severus Snape headcanons?
(Feel free to add more)
Aaah thank you for such a lovely ask, I have quite a few but I'd say my top 5 are :
He's autistic. For me his social awkwardness and his very clear special interests read as neurodivergent traits. Ofc he was raised in an poor abusive home as an only child which didn't help him socialize normally but I always found 'odd' how much he seemed to have struggled making friends at Hogwarts. Figuring out in his mid-teens how to finally blend with people reminds me of an autistic person figuring out the weird rules of society. He's clearly highly intelligent and I can imagine his talent as a spy coming from his capacity to observe other people and be whatever they need him to be, which reminds me a lot of masking. Also I imagine him not being very expressive (he has such a resting bitch face mood) and liking having a clear routine. Like, let him have his coffee and breakfast every morning the exact same way, sitting in the exact same spot, reading his newspaper. He'd make a scene in the staff room if they were to move his armchair by the window. It was perfectly well there, don't you dare move it.
He smokes. He picked up the habit when he was 14, in Spinner's end, while hanging out once with other kids from the neighborhood. He doesn't smoke often but as he's so stressed all the time, especially at the end of terms at Hogwarts (he's so overworked), he takes smoking break. A few members of the staff are aware of it but he doesn't like people knowing.
He gets along really well with Minerva. They have a lot of mutual respect for each other, both being hard-working and having strong sets of values (even if they disagree). They have a strong friendship, though it come across as professional, and an unspoken mother-son bond. They never addressed it, though when he started teaching at Hogwarts and fell hard in depression after Lily's death, Minerva was the one who helped him the most in a strangely maternal way. She also knew he had lost his mother and even though he absolutely refused to talk about it (maybe it happened once), she knew he was going through a lot. She's the only one who ever saw him cry, once, during that period. She's also the only one who addressed the fact that they should have done something about James and Sirius back then. He didn't comment on it but deep down he appreciated it. Also they take smoke breaks together.
About his body: he's got a mole on his cheek. I just think it suits him well. He's got quite a few on his body. I don't see him having many scars tbh. I know a lot of people imagine him covered in it from his DE time or his father. I think he has a few from his father (the belt didn't leave much mark, maybe one or two but it's very hard to see) but the cigarette buds on his arm are quite visible. Other than that, I imagine him having very soft, delicate skin.
He's got a dirty mouth. Again, that's from his upgringing in Spinner's End. His father was very bad mouthed, and I think that when his mother was pissed she might have been a bit too. Also everyone outside was spitting out the worst vulgar shit you could imagine. He's not proud of it as it reminds him of his childhood and he tried his best suppress it and look posh but deep down... he's just a very bad-mouthed kid. And he swears like a sailor when he's furious or - especially - when he hurts himself. I read a fic once where he had to have his bones mended in the infirmary when he was a student (thanks JP) and Mrs Pomfrey was the only one who knew about this as it had happened quite a few times already. And it was all "cock-sucking-motherfucker-mmmAAHHGH" and I loved it sm I think it happened ONCE in front of the students when he had to save a someone from a badly bubbling cauldron and got burnt HARD and he started shouting a few insults but stopped himself very quickly. It was quite the talk for a few months.
I could add much more but these are the ones I could think of at the top of my head !
Bonus one : he hates corn. Don't ask me why, I just decided (well because the first time we ever see him in the first movie, he has a PLATE OF CORN in front of him and I don't know, I just cannot picture him eating corn, it looks so stupid in my head and I just randomly decided he didn't like that lol)(but maybe I should do a hc post with foods/drinks he likes, waddaya think ?)

I dont think Lily’s a particularly empathetic person tbh. Petunia’s a cow, but they were obviously close once and Lily doesn’t possess the sensitivity required to understand that it’s coming from a place of being made to feel less than. She flirts with James while her friend is choking on soap suds and throws Severus’ otherness right back in his face after he does the same to her, but only one of them thinks they behaved poorly in that situation. She’s fine with dating an abuser once he (publicly) calms down a bit, but doesn’t require evidence of him making amends to his victims. It’s an interesting character quirk, her self righteousness, but not one that tends to come with introspection. I wonder if people mature mentally in the afterlife? If she’s stuck at 21, forgiveness is probably off the table. If she’s 38, well, I think it’s totally reasonable to be angry at the prophecy debacle, but she also has decades of evidence of his genuine atonement.
Severus is so self-loathing and desperate for connection that he’s incapable of accepting he’s ever got a point when it comes to conflict with Lily, and Lily is a golden child unused to being held accountable for anything. It’s a toxic combination even when they’re children. Add in the fact that Severus’ mistakes indirectly got her killed, and I think they’d both end up feeling that her failures as a friend were so insignificant in comparison it’s not even worth discussing. Maybe the best case is that doing some more self-flagellating and her blessing him with forgiveness even with no reciprocal exchange allows him to move unburdened onto a Lily-free afterlife.
Yes, I think you’ve absolutely nailed it. Severus feels so terrible because he had a deep emotional dependence on Lily. And honestly, I get it—a marginalized kid from a conflict-ridden home, likely neglected by his parents, with zero social skills. I’ve always thought Lily was his attachment figure, which is pretty common among people with emotional deficits: they latch onto those who show them any affection in an exaggerated way, leading to dependency. And clearly, Lily didn’t see their friendship the same way, because she didn’t have those emotional needs.
I mean, as much as Petunia was conditioned to be resentful and we dislike her, we can probably credit her when she implies multiple times that Lily was the favorite child. It’s logical: Lily was the "magical" child. Plus, being the younger sibling likely meant she was spoiled by default, and being a witch added another layer of fascination for her parents. She was probably used to a lot of attention and praise, which only solidified during her school years as she became popular, well-liked by adults and peers, and widely considered very attractive. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a bit egocentric, which fits with her inability to put herself in someone else’s shoes or care about anything unless it affected her personally.
For instance, she didn’t care about Mary McDonald being bullied because Snape was her friend. But the moment Snape stopped being her friend, she suddenly brought it up. Like, what? It didn’t bother her before? Or did she not care because she didn’t need leverage against Severus? And isn’t it convenient that she "hated" James because of how he treated her friend, but once that friend wasn’t in the picture, she ended up dating him? What, did she suddenly forget everything James did, or was it just that she no longer needed to pretend to care? In my headcanon, she was all about appearances. She got involved in the war because it affected her directly; if it hadn’t, I think she wouldn’t have cared at all.
That said, I don’t think Severus owed anyone an apology. I mean, I understand why he felt guilty, and it’s commendable, but if I’d spent five years being bullied and harassed and then my ex-best friend—who witnessed all of it—started dating my bully? I swear I’d burn her hair off. I’d grab a lighter and make a bonfire right in the middle of class. And then I’d pluck her eyelashes out, one by one. Honestly, it’s like if your friend decided to date a guy who tried to assault you—what the actual fuck, girl? What are you even thinking? Let her mother apologize for raising her with no sense of ethics.

what are your thoughts on Severus Snape?
AW HECK YEAH I FREAKING LOVE SEVERUS SNAPE!!!
I've talked about him a lot on my blog lol- not as much recently, but rest assured I still love him <3
He's one of my favorite dudes!! Percy is awesome because he is me and I am him sometimes but Snape is awesome because HOLY SHIT the amount of trauma this man went through just to become one of the saviors of the wizarding world?? holy shit it's insane
I have so much love and admiration for him as a character. He's the most heroic hero to ever hero tbh (overexaggeration I know.. but still)
Also, honestly, no I don't really care about the whole thing with Neville. In the most polite way possible, canonically, that kid was either a cowardly idiot or a kid who didn't listen in class and needed to get straightened out. Signed, an autistic nerd who would have hated him in real life. I'm sorry but I just cannot listen to any argument that basically goes 'ohh but he BULLIED CHILDREN!!' like no he was a strict teacher and Neville was a bad student who endangered others 😭😭
Oh also I absolutely love the John Nettleship lore!! (Basically Snape was based off JKR's old chemistry teacher, who she hated for like no reason lmao. He was super nice and everyone else loved him and he dressed up as a wizard and sang songs in Welsh. He was also most likely autistic and most definitely a mega feminist!! Absolutely based dude tbh. He even had disability accomodations installed in their building for JKR's mother!) Anyways book!Snape is autistic and you can't convince me otherwise <3
OH!! ANOTHER THING!! I love Alan Rickman, think he was an awesome actor, but movie!Snape is inferior to book!Snape in every way to me. He makes me shudder. Canon Snape is screamy and rough around the edges and mentally unstable and traumatized AND IT SHOWS! Movie!Snape is... smooth speaking... and calm... and slaps student... and is NOT book!Snape in any way shape or form!!!
Oh speaking of (can you tell I love yapping about Snape?), despite being pronounced a student-hating abusive bully by a certain side of the fandom, he's actually one of the only teachers that canonically never put the students in physical danger, and I think that's very snexy of him.
Anyways yeah I love Snape :) there's literally only one thing he's done in canon that I can't defend. Ask me questions about him anytime <3
#whoo ee this is a long post#aj rambles#severus snape#pro severus snape#URG I LOVE HIM#didnt talk about young!snape in this post because he literallt did nothing wrong ever lmao#THANK YOU BTW ANON!!! ILY MWAH#asks

Random vent cause I found a post of yours in the discourse tag and it reignited my passion for a moment, feel free to totally ignore lol
Bro I am so mad that Harry & Draco don't canonically end up friends. After all that? After Draco throws him his wand and yells his name at the final battle?? AFTER ALL THAT? No way. No frickin way dude. While I do love dr/arry (don't wanna tag on accident) I don't even mean this in regards to the ship... literally you cannot convince me that they don't talk and become some kind of friends. WHO ELSE COULD UNDERSTAND BEING A PUPPET IN A WAR YOU HAVE NO DESIRE TO BE IN... 😭 (that and they were teenagers ofc they grew into "different" people than who they were made to be tbh who is the same at 24 as they are at 16? or any other age.) They were just kids... they deserve a second chance at friendship 😭
It's so true. (Though the wand throwing scene is only in the movie but still). Regardless of whether you ship drarry or not, Harry and Draco are so central to each other's arcs. I mean, Draco risks everything and throws away his last chance to get his family back into Voldemort's good graces to save Harry. Harry risks his life to save Draco. Harry defeats Voldemort with Draco's wand. They've been a key part of each other's lives since book 1. Draco even realizes he was wrong and changes his attitudes.
And there's just...no payoff. No final interaction. No conversation. It feels like something's missing. And it's so natural to bring it in since Harry needs to return Draco's wand. They could've had a moment. They could've finally shaken hands. Maybe in a callback and reversal this time it's Harry who offers his hand first. (Maybe Draco looks a little bit doubtful and indicates his left arm and makes a little quip about Harry needing to be careful not to make friends with the wrong sort. But Harry just says he can still tell who the wrong sort are and leaves his hand out till Draco takes it.) It could've been so good.
But for some reason even though JKR wrote Draco growing and changing his mind she views him as fundamentally different from Snape or Dumbledore or Regulus, whose redemption arcs she acknowledges. And that leaves a huge piece of the story feeling a bit unfinished. Because what she actually wrote doesn't seem to match what she wants us to feel about it.
#send me more asks anytime. i always love reading and answering them! :)#asks#Harry Potter#Draco Malfoy#drarry#(if you want)

This has been on my mind for a while now.
Movie Snape immediately shielded the kids with his body from Lupin, I was wondering if you think Book Snape would have done the same if he didn’t have his wand. (Personally, I think he would but I’m curious to see other people’s opinion on this)
By the way, just recently discovered your blog and I love your takes on HP!
Of course he would, he would for sure be scared shitless due to his trauma with Werewolf!Remus but one thing we know about Severus is that he would stop at nothing to protect Harry (or anyone else tbh, but especially Harry since it’s literally his life mission to make sure he’s alive).
By recently you mean 2 months ago, because that’s almost exactly how long I took to answer this ask 😭😭 So sorry for the late answer!! I was dealing with a lot at the time and I had no energy to answer any asks or even go on tumblr. But thanks, I’m glad you enjoy my takes :)

Dude, I need someone to simp over David Thewlis with and I have no one to go to. I have a feeling I know your opinion about David Thewlis as Remus Lupin (and I think it's a positive one? correct me if I'm wrong, I know some people don't think he did the character justice).
To be honest, I don't think the movies did his character justice, but I think David Thewlis was THE cast for him. The movies made him too soft, too gentle, too perfect. Book Remus is a lot more polarized than that. For every soft quality, he has a YIKES counterpart that is never shown in the movies. The only time we truly see this "yikes" counterpart is the Shrieking Shack scene when he smirks menacingly at Sirius and you think he's a villain. David pulled that off really good. I saw the movie before reading the book (I was a young kid at that time and PoA was too much to read for me) and I felt cheated, I suddenly didn't think I could trust him anymore.
The thing David Thewlis pulled off best, imo, is the fatherly quality of Remus. I know, Remus is a pathetic man with an avoidant personality, but we can't deny he is fatherly. And I feel that, no matter what movie I watch with David in it, the fatherly vibes just radiate from him. In a way I am glad it is like that in the movies because I use PoA as a coping mechanism in life. Stressed? PoA. Sad? PoA. Crisis? PoA. David absolutely nailed the comfy professor aura. Everything about him in PoA is inviting, it draws you in. His voice, his smile, the way he carries himself, his quiet strength. Who could've done it better? I love him.
Enjoy this young David Thewlis edit that I'm obsessed with. Cheers my tumblr friend <3

David Threwlis is a fucking GEM and the PERFECT pick for the character in every aspect, yes. I can't think of how anyone could actually think otherwise. He looks perfect and acts perfect.
To the point where I would actually be happy if he played Remus AGAIN for the TV series or whatever - even though he looks so much older. Play up the fact he looks 'older than his age' or do some makeup, I dunno, I don't care. I would be alright with it.
I don't think any of the movies do anyone justice, TBH - ignoring the fact that of course things will have to be trimmed and simplified. I think most people agree though that the way they chose to do so was destructive and missed the point of the overarching story.
OotP and HBP were enjoyable as individual movies - but cut out so, so much that it damages the series as a whole. OotP especially should have been two movies, to REALLY get to know the Order Members, the adult world harry desperately wants to enter - revisit Lupin and Sirius, get attached to the real Moody - set up Tonks... maybe end the first one with Dumbledore leaving...?
But some actors pulled through wonderfully with the limited time they were given to portray their role, Alan Rickman of course being one - and I think David Threwlis is an underrated other. He did fucking BEAUTIFULLY and it made up for imo a half-assed performance from Gary Oldman as Sirius. He has perfect aesthetic and his fatherly moments with Harry were gorgeous... but most of the time he felt like his heart wasn't in it.
Remus, in the movies, HAD to be soft... but always carry a touch of coldness. A comfortable room but the heater isn't on. A cup of tea but you're asked to leave right after. Gentle eyes that pierce. Slightly odd expressions that feel kind, but also... off. He nailed that. Absolutely. That softness that makes you want to cozy up close, but a constant distance that makes you wonder why. Also the mustache was absolute genius. If only they gave him greys...
THIS LOOK? Underrated. SO MUCH PACKED INTO IT. Displeasure, surprise, 'oh shit im in danger' - but then forced innocence, a bit of weariness, a cheeky idea...
How he came out of the darkness, too - Snape specifically calling Lupin to show him the map was meaningful in the books, but Remus walking out of the pitch black was symbolic in the movies. It was a decent change. THIS is when I felt a 'Hm...' about Remus. (I saw it as an adult though, first time last year. I had no idea I'd love him so much.)
I LOVVEEEE going on and on about Remus being a wet tissue paper - because he is so often mischaracterized in so many different ways... but he IS good. He IS strong, compassionate, wise, clever... Fatherly. He will put himself aside to comfort someone in need. He just can't do that for himself. He will punish himself for the things he is gentle with in others.
"His voice, his smile, the way he carries himself, his quiet strength. Who could've done it better? I love him." YEAHYEAHYEAH David can pack layers of depth into every movement he makes. His little head bobbles, the ways his eyes pin on something and stare, his control of exactly how he smiles... ITS SO GOOD AHH
Normally a link to tiktok earns an instant vaporization but you get a pass aight I wont kill you God he's so wonky looking, look at him, he is delightful, I am going to spread him on toast with my vegemite

I'm black, not in the marauders fandom at all.
The optics of Snape being a poor black man with a missing father (if his father is also black) being bullied by rich white kids, then having a black man join a racist cult (not that we can't but it's far less likely)
The years later Harry saying he looks suspicious because reasons, is just not it.
Unless they're planning on making other characters POC (which I know they won't do) it's gonna look bad all around.
Ntm Snape's defining characteristics are so tied to his appearance stated multiple times in the book over and over again.
Greasy hair fine, we oil the fuck out our scalp and hair, but long, our hair naturally grows up and out unless we straighten it, they gonna have him looking like Snoop in the 90s I guess lmao.
Ain't no one happy about this casting choice. Annabeth works because tbh they could've given the actress blonde braids and grey contacts, boom problem solved (and her hair looks lighter next season already)
Snape has sallow skin, Annabeth had tanned skin, like?! Why. Plus if they are gonna change stuff for diversity maybe give us a non controversial character, considering everything we do is made controseverial irl.

for the 21 q thing 1) James
2) Prongsfoot
3) I have so many controversial opinions-- I hate WS and Jegulus and i don't think they could ever really work. I don't like Remus much. I hate Snape. I think PF is the best ship. I don't like Jily. feel like James would have been a bit neglected growing up (bc I see his parents as like dumbles age-ish old). I think Remus and Peter and sirius were all inlove with James but James only was in lov with Sirius and that he (james) was the guy like everyone wanted and I think James was Voldy's kid. James is scottish
4) Sirius.
5) First came in 2019 (I only read fics then and had no idea that there was a fandom j thought people randomly made fics aboug HP lol) but then left and came back in 2022 (properly with knowledge of fandoms)-- both times thro WS fics that i abondened withint he first 10 chps bc I could not get WS at all. But i came and stayed for James both times.
6) Tall Sirius! With James being second and like 5 or so cm shorter (remus is so average hieght in canon that JK didn't even bother mentioning his height lol) like that dude could never be short. Regulus got the short genes j like he got the ugly genes :>
7) Prongsfoot
9) ooh I have a few-- Marauders Guide to Saving the Wizarding World Tattered I've never known colour (like this morning reveals to me) Professor Tommy Welcome to The Black Charade These Wounds don't seem to heal Never Leave I don't want to Listen Anymore Darkness Only For an Year Till My Last Breath
15) I like AUs a bit more, though I'm fine with canon compliant. fav AU is either Werewolf James, Vampire James, Royalty AU neglected James AU or Voldy is James' father AU (PF fics tho)
16) I started reading but then dnf it. I was given the impressiont hat ATYD was a prequel, and I'd even seen people say it was written by JK and completely canon and stuff, so I looked for it for two years b4 finding and dowloading it and the whole thing confused me so much. Orphaned Remus, Sirius and Remus' dynamic, Dyslexic Remus. I left it aft the scene where Sirius points out the book james wanted in the 6th I think chapter. tbh is I read it as a fanfiction i might have been less bothered and read for a bit longer, but the way it was presented and how long I'd waiting meant that I couldn't manage it bc i was filled with confusiont hat gave way to pure rage and hatered. It is a WS fic so tbh I was neve gonna finish it.
17) I feel like James would have been a bit neglected growing up (bc I see his parents as like dumbles age-ish old). I think Remus and Peter and sirius were all inlove with James but James only was in lov with Sirius and that he (james) was the guy like everyone wanted and I think James was Voldy's kid. James is scottish. I also like the thought of a vampire or werewolf James. And I think the Blacks were legimens/occlumens and Poitters were necromancers. James is ambidextrous, a mother hen and pretty good and is not good at asking for help (thinks he has to be there for others but that he doesn't deserve someone to be there for him). Oh and that James spent like 60% of his money in the war making sure everyone was alive an not dyign of dehydration or starvation or summat (my fav character is pretty clear lol)
20) is being a necromancer secretly a secret talkent (my HC for James/Potters)
21) I think Jily would have broken up and James and Sirius would choose to do some stupidly dangerous thing-- a curse breaker and a magizoologist or something like that.
Hellooooo, thanks for playing! I'm glad you're a prongsfoot enthusiast because I've been wanting to write some more prongsfoot recently and haven't had the energy to open up and work on my longfic for them, lol. Anyway, I'm gonna write some vampy prongsfoot for you :)
Warning, it gets a bit suggestive at the end sorry
🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾🦌🐾
James is fascinated by the tall, dark man across the pub.
He's got long hair, a set jaw, the most piercing eyes, is unequivocally handsome, and his blood smells divine. James hasn't smelt blood like his in a very long time.
He's been watching the man all night, as he dances and drinks and beats every man he challenges to an arm wrestle. James is under his spell, completely, without much worry about it at all.
He wondered, for a moment, if the man were a warlock, or perhaps a wizard, a spell caster of some sort. Though, vampires can sense the magic sorts from a fair way away, their blood smells metallic and rusted. No vampire wants to feed on a magic man.
So James is at a standstill, wondering how such a man has him this heavy under trance. It's almost embarrassing. Well, it would be if the man weren't so unbelievably handsome.
And James can't quite put his finger on why he's so familiar.
James knows that if he had ever seen this man before, he's sure he would remember it. He could never forget a face so charmingly perfect, never forget a smile so sharp. But there's something about him, something James can't quite place.
And so he remains stumped. And he stares, and watches, and daydreams all through the night.
He orders another drink, and looks back into the room to find he's misplaced his dark beauty. Frantically, he scours the pub with his eyes in hopes of finding him, of following him home and feasting on his sweet, sweet blood.
"Missed me?" A deep, raspy voice whispers in James' ear from behind, and he spins to find himself a mere breath away from the man he's captivated by.
"I beg your pardon?" James splutters out, already a mess somehow.
One thing James prides himself on is his ability and confidence to talk to people, to flirt with people, but there's something about this man. Something that's frying his brain.
"I hope you don't think you've been subtle." He smirks, looking James up and down as he sits dumbstruck on his stool.
He feels as though he's stripped bare under the mans intense gaze.
"I noticed you watching me hours ago. I was curious to see how long it would take for you to approach me." He leans in closer to whisper again, "I've been waiting, Vampire."
If James still had the ability to blush, he knows he would absolutely be flushed pink in the cheeks right now. However, he is un-dead, and so such a thing has not happened, and he has never been so thankful.
How on earth does this man know?
He stands up straight, holds his fore-arm out and pulls his sleeve up for James to see, and there, on his lovely, pale skin, upon his muscular arm, is a tattoo-- Or, rather, not a tattoo, but a mark.
A hunters mark.
Well, shit.
"Oh, well, would you look at the time. I really must be going now, farewell--" James tried, but he was immediately shoved right back down onto his seat.
"You're not going anywhere."
Bloody hell.
"I'm not here to feed, I'm just after a few drinks is all! Not a bad vampire, I promise."
"So that's not blood in your glass?"
James peered back at his glass on the bar and coward, "Well, not fresh blood."
"Hmm." The hunter nodded, squinted his eyes to assess, "It's my sworn responsibility to kill any vampires I come across, the moment that I do, you know?"
"So why didn't you?" James asked, finding the gall, "You said you noticed me watching hours ago, what took you so long?"
"Maybe I couldn't be bothered..." He muttered before a sly smirk appeared on his lovely, pink lips, "Maybe I liked the attention."
"Wanted a fight, did you? Wanted to see if I'd try and feed on you?"
"Were you planning on it?"
"Well, it depended." He began to ramble, hoping to find a safe rout out of this inevitably terrible situation, "Do you have low iron? Because you look rather pale, and low iron blood tastes terrible--"
"I don't get out much throughout the day." He interrupts, "A perk of the job, hunting you night creatures."
James studies him for a moment, the lack of distaste on his perfect face. The hunter is almost smiling, like he's enjoying this back and forth, isn't repulsed by James' mere existence like the rest of them.
And no wonder it's taken so long for him to realise the familiarity of the hunter, he's a Black. The Blacks have been hunting him for centuries, and he has their face, for sure, but he's never seen a Black wear any expression other than a disgusted frown.
It's almost charming, how different this one seems, even though he's planning to kill James tonight.
Why the bloody hell did he have to be attracted to his predator?
"How does it feel to be the fist Black to ever catch me, hm?" James asks, desperate to drag this out as much as he possibly can, "Centuries your ancestors have been itching to get half as close to me as you are right now. Your father, I'm guessing, the great Orion, almost tore the last town to smithereens on the hunt for me."
"Yes, it's all a little bit homoerotic, isn't it?"
James couldn't help but snicker at his joke, "Well, I don't know if I'd call it that, but sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night, Hunter."
"My family would be very proud." He answered stiffly, "They'd implore me to take over our Clan. I'd be Sirius the Victorious, a hero, my story passed down for generations. It would be... everything to the clan."
"Well, isn't that just neat?" James sighed, "I almost feel bad, trying to escape from you now. It would be rather depressing for you to get so close and then have to head home defeated, like every other hunter in your family, Sirius."
Sirius kisses his teeth, arms folded across his broad chest, and James spots a sheath with wooden bullets slung over his shoulder, and guns and spikes on his sides. He wonders if the hunter had been wearing them the whole time, or, if James had been so distracted by his mere beauty that he hadn't even noticed the obvious.
"Yes, depressing, sure." He mumbles, rolling his gorgeous blue eyes and sets a heavy gaze on James, "In a family like mine, eternal fame is not something to take lightly. To be the best hunter, means a life time of high expectations, and that sounds like an awful lot of responsibility and effort."
James raised an eyebrow at the hunter, "I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow. Are you going to capture and kill me, or not?"
The hunter reaches a strong hand out, his finger tracing along the thin wire of James' glassess, over the shell of his ear, and up into his unruly hair before grabbing a fist full of it and pulling back.
"Ow--"
"Capture you, yes. To kill you though? Hm, well, that's undecided."
"Lovely." James groaned, rather confused at the combination of emotions circling through him right now; terribly afraid he's about to die, and rather flustered by this devilishly handsome man.
"Now, you're going to quietly follow me up to my room. If you dare make a sound, or so much as try to escape, I will kill you instantly, and I will make it hurt." He whispered, pointing upwards towards the boarding rooms above the pub, "But if you comply, you may get your chance to live."
James has never been very good at following instructions, he rather hates being told what to do. However, this charming man has him under wraps, and so, for once in his un-life, James does as he's told.
The pair of them make their way up stairs with kind smiles and head nods to passers by, and James longs for his half finished glass of blood on the bar, and prays that he is not about to die in a moldy little boarding room.
The room is full of weaponry, and James knows there is no hope for him now. He should have tried to escape when he had the chance, yet, he's an idiot, apparently. His brain turned to mush at the sight of one damming attractive man, who's about to be his demise.
Welp. He's had a good five hundred years, he supposed.
"I'm not going to kill you." Sirius says, as he binds James wrists together behind his back and shoves him into a chair, pouring himself a tall glass of whiskey, "Well, not yet at least. It really depends on how much you piss me off."
"Right, well, good chance I won't make it much longer than." James comments, "I'm known to be rather annoying. Big mouth, people say, been saying it for years."
"Hmm, charming." Sirius sighs, "My family, as you know, is renowned for hunting vampires, all our incredible feats over the years. We're bread to be the perfect hunters, I made my first kill at age five, I remember it vividly."
"Sounds tragic."
"It's... suffocating, all those expectations to be perfect, all these... responsibilities. I'm rather sick and tired of it all. My parents have been high on my tail about it for years. And slowly, I've been rebelling. I'm sick of all the murder."
"You want out." James wonders in bewilderment.
"Yes." Sirius answers, "To an extent. But I know it's stupid, I have nothing without them. But I'm through with them all. I want to see how hard I can push before they snap."
"Oh, you're acting out are you? Hmm, I remember my rebellious phase. Happened before I was turned, I said the fuck word to my parents-- terrible, terrible things. We were from high society, the fifteen-hundreds, it was rather inappropriate."
"Charming." Sirius hummed, sitting down on the edge of the bed across from him, "What had you watching me for so long tonight? You didn't know who I was-- if you realised I was a hunter you would have ran. So why?"
"Hm, you really want an honest answer?" James asked, and the man nodded, "Your blood."
"What about it?"
"It smells good." James grinned, "It smells divine. I've been dreaming about sinking my teeth into your neck and draining you of every drop." He chuckled to himself, "How tragic would it be for your family to find you dead at my hand?"
"So very tragic." Sirius said with a grin, and James' stomach begin to twist, "Which is why you're going to feed on me--"
"I beg your pardon?"
"Kill me or not, I don't care." Sirius shrugged, already unbuttoning his vest and removing it, along with his jewelry, a sight which has James rather flustered again, "Feed on me, make it known you were here. Seek them out and brag about it."
"Wouldn't that just be terrible for you?" James asks, eyes fixed on Sirius' broad chest as he unbuttons his shirt. He's covered in black swirly ink, and James is entranced.
"Perhaps. Though, not if you kill me." And with the most crazed grin James has ever seen, Sirius said, "Not if you turn me."
Oh bloody hell.
"Turn you?"
"Wouldn't it be fun?"
"I doubt that, Star."
Sirius stood up, unbuckling his trousers next, removing his shoes, "Leave your mark on me, Vampire. Make it stick. Make them pay for all the harm they've caused you over the years."
James snickered, "Hmm, revenge would be sweet."
"I could be sweet." He says, now completely naked, "Turn me, and I'll run by your side for eternity, protect you from their attempts to kill you. It will be the ultimate revenge for the both of us, for all that they've done to me to shape me into their killer. Now, the very thing they've sworn to kill."
"Hmm, love, I admire your ambition, and you're rather fit I must say." James nods, giving him a once over, "But I fear you're a little young for me."
"I'm twenty seven." Sirius mutters.
"I'm five hundred and sixteen-- or maybe seventeen now. What month is it? It's hard to keep track after all these years."
Sirius glared at him, "Turn me."
"Feisty, aren't you?" James said, "You just met me."
"I've been studying you my whole life." Sirius smiles, wanders over to lean into James' space, "I've been dreaming of you my whole life."
"Well, no pressure." James muttered, really quite surprised. This man has to be insane, dreaming of his enemy for twenty seven years.
James wonders if that's why his blood smells so sweet. Perhaps they're intertwined. Perhaps...
Every magical creature has one soul that they're designed for. One soul they're meant to stand by for all of eternity. One soul, instant attraction, a sworn desire to protect them at all costs, intertwined until death, and when one dies, the others life loses all meaning.
It's just... usually they'll pair with another magical creature. Not the one designed to hunt and kill them.
But maybe...
"Let me smell you."
Sirius isn't perturbed by this, and he leans into James' space, his neck bared for James to breathe in his scent. And it's perfect, brilliantly sweet, metallic and warm. He smells of everything James has ever dreamed about, he's what James has spent the past five hundred years searching for.
"Hmm, well, I suppose I was turned when I was twenty one."
With that, Sirius grins, climbs into his lap and kisses him. And Merlin, his blood tastes divine.

i’m not sure where this idea that dumbledore is the reason tom riddle became wizard hitler came from but i don’t buy it. i know the cool kid thing to do is blame dumbledore for every bad thing that happens in those books, but dumbledore isn’t the reason riddle was like that™️.
by the time dumbledore first meets riddle- he’s already traumatized those two kids in the cave so badly that they’ll never recover, killed some girl’s rabbit and hanged it from the rafters, and is a klepto. the kid literally meets the all childhood behavior indicators of a serial killer.
dumbledore in the meeting with riddle only displays concern for riddle and the other childrens’ well-being. he offers to help riddle and tells riddle that stealing/intimidating other students isn’t permitted at hogwarts. and he’s valid for pointing that out!! riddle admits to intimidating/stealing from the other kids. that’s something dumbledore kinda can’t let slide.
ppl cite dumbledore making a snide comment to harry about riddle wanting to be special as evidence he was out to get tom. current dumbledore made that comment as the result of knowing who tom riddle became. past dumbledore only vows to keep a close eye on him. present dumbledore even says he had no idea he’d just met wizard hitler. and past dumbledore’s not wrong for keeping an eye on riddle. also that’s common practice in the education system. when a child is noted to have behavioral issues (esp when those behaviors concern other students), admin will have a school counselor keep an eye on them or assign them a para. dumbledore also obv didn’t turn anyone against tom. everyone else loved him! so dumbledore’s watchful eye obv didn’t impact riddle’s school career really at all. all of the teachers believed he was a good role model student and he was even named head boy.
also even if, a teacher not liking or trusting you does not mean you get to become a neo-nazi. harry put up with snape’s bs and it didn’t lead to him declaring himself a “lord” and splitting his soul into pieces.
it was also the 1940s/30s and muggles did not have the psychological abilities/knowledge that we do today. wizards 1000% didn’t. if he’d been sent to a psychiatrist then, they just would’ve said some freudian bs about his mother and not actually helped with his problem of lack of empathy/guilt
the reason that riddle’s like that™️ is actually pretty understandable and makes sense psychologically. we know now (and actually by the 50s) that children who are starved of physical contact/emotional connection/and stability in early childhood can struggle to develop empathy, feel guilt, form connections, and that can lead to deviant immoral behavior. riddle grew up in an orphanage in the 40s during wwii with no familial connection. having abilities would make him feel “special” and better than the other orphans bc his abilities are the only thing he has going for him. add that to the above issues, and you’ve got someone that would abuse their powers for their own gain, especially to feel “special”. like tbh riddle’s prob not that different psychologically to like charles manson or jim jones (which is peak irony that a therapist in the muggle world could actually easily be able to explain his psyche while the wizarding world struggles)
my final point is this: dumbledore, while extremely flawed, isn’t the reason tom riddle became voldemort. if anything, slughorn and the old headmaster drove him to that end through their enabling far more than dumbledore did by keeping an eye on him. we even saw in riddle’s diary that “keeping an eye on him” consisted of dumbledore basically asking tom “you good?” when seeing him in the corridor. a behavior that reminds harry of dumbledore’s own interactions with him. and yeah eventually dumbledore called riddle out and was like “i heard you’re a fascist now” but that was after riddle had killed his own father, set a giant snake loose in the school, started calling himself “lord voldemort”, and started the wizard hitler youth
#harry potter#albus dumbledore#pro dumbledore in the way that i think he’s a complex man doing what he thinks is best#tom riddle#i think at some point in the 20th century the muggle world surpasses the wizarding world in abilities/power#the muggle world invents the internet & social internet & nuclear power & ai & planes & email & the iphone & psychology & ssri’s

Why do you think so many marauder fans like Barty and Evan while they despise Snape?? I can’t wrap my head around it! Usually the reasons they claim to hate snape for are traits these characters have (being a death eater, bullying children) but atleast snape had a redemption arc of some sort while these guys died bigoted and cruel. It’s baffling.
Honestly unfortunately I think a lot of it is pretty privilege. Much of fandom revolves around shipping, specifically two pretty young men together. Bonus points if those young men are wealthy. Barty and Evan (and Regulus) are relatively blank slates compared to a more established character like Snape, so people can just apply whatever bland character tropes they like to them for the purposes of shipping. Rosier has no canon description and Barty's canon description is vague enough that they can be imagined as male models basically haha.
Barty comes ready-made with a sob story about his family and the text goes out of its way to portray him as sympathetic. Rosier, again, total blank slate so you can invent some tragic reason why he was compelled to join the death eaters. Curiously I also gave Rosier quite a fucked up family situation (in some ways the worst out of any DE tbh) but my version of Rosier has internalised the cycle of abuse that exists in his family and is now perpetuating it against others.
On the other hand, Sev is described as fairly unpleasant as a character, rarely sympathetic, and also very much not attractive. He's also explicitly the enemy of the Hot Sexy Unproblematic Maruaders, so obviously he has to be made into an irredeemable villain trope in order to justify the behaviour of sunshine boys James and Sirius. Again this goes back to what I said recently about people not believing in redemption so they have to erase everything about a character that requires redemption in the first place.
My thoughts on this aren't entirely formed but I also sometimes get the feeling there's kind of a fascination with like... the aesthetics of aristocracy (without much real understanding of how the British class system functions) and this is why the Blacks are so often portrayed as fabulously wealthy in a way that imo is not reflected in canon. Anyway I kind of get the feeling people just like the 'rich sexy boarding school boys' trope, dark academia except not actually that dark lol. Rosier and Crouch are portrayed as old money families.
So Snape, being poor, likely wearing clothes that are uncool and unsexy, being described as unattractive therefore not being reimaginable as a male model, sworn enemy of the fan favourites, just doesn't fit into this whole thing. Remus arguably doesn't fit completely either, but he does fit the idea of a sort of 'noble poor boy' (even though his family probably isnt rly that poor when he's a kid hgfhshgkjgh) better than Snape does. So that's why Remus is accepted as a poor little orphan (????????) when Snape is reviled; Remus fits more easily into a shippable character trope. Especially if in your head he looks like Matt Hitt.
Sidenote I love those two traits you listed as Snape's traits haha. This is his dating profile:
Severus Snape, 21 "Love will tear us apart..."
death eater
bullies children
#this one actually is more along the lines of anti marauders fandom haha. i'll accept that#severus#severus snape#replies#tbh i feel like the way the DE boys are portrayed is probably more similar to like... american east coast old money type of thing#not that i know much about that haha it's just the vibe i get

it’s so fucking annoying. James was literally a misogynistic(didn’t take no from lil) queerphobic(bullied gnc kid) jock. Just because he could tolerate certain marginalized people who played by his rules(cough cough Remus Lupin) doesn’t negate that
i mean let’s be honest, this was the 70s. i don’t think any of the marauder era students were very particular about supporting queer people
saying james simply tolerated a werewolf is kind of unfair because for all his faults, he illegally became an animagus to keep his friend company. (remember—even progressive families like the weasleys look down on werewolves.)
james had a very black and white view of people; remus was on the Good side, therefore none of his attributes could truly be bad. sirius was his friend, therefore none of his cruelty or recklessness could truly be harmful. meanwhile severus was into the dark arts, so of course it was alright to make fun of his clothes and his hair and his social standing. it’s a more common attitude than you would think, tbh!
it’s this sort of, you know, two-dimensional thinking that probably allowed peter to get away with what he did. (completely paraphrasing here because i cba to pull up the quote but remus even tells harry that james would’ve found it the height of insult to doubt his friends.)
as for lily…i don’t really see how he’s misogynistic? i’m assuming you mean “he asked lily out over and over again” despite her refusal? because that…didn’t really happen, canonically. we see snape tell lily in SWM that “potter fancies her” which is not something he’d be whispering furiously if james was asking her out every other day
#anon idk if you’re confused but i like james lol#just because i know he wasn’t a queer reggaeton latino feminist leader whatever doesn’t mean i’m about to bash him 😂#answered#james potter

omg i never come on tumblr anymore and had to remember all my logins but i didn't know if u had a Twitter but saw your Tumblr linked in ur ao3 so hi
I JUST FINISHED YOUR FIC IF WE WERE LOVERS AND I HAVE SO MUCH EMOTIONS. first of all I knew I was gonna like this fic because I LOOOOVE your other fic 'equals in life (partners in death)'. i saw if we were lovers being recommended on the tomarry subreddit. I never read non magical AUs like this was forreal my first ever one!! I've never really been interested in them since I love the tension and angst harry and tom have in canon because of their backstories and shit so non magical AUs never appealed to me much for tomarry specifically but man I saw if we were lovers on reddit so i clicked on it and it sounded so interesting. I never was a theatre kid or really cared much about it but always thought it was cool and respected people who did it. hell i would love if I could do shit like that on stage LMAO but this fic sounded really good so I saved it to read! and I'm SO glad I did. I literally just finished it and now im here writing this. first of all I love how you wrote ALL these characters. I really need to bring up theo especially because I never really cared about theo as character tbh and in fics I'm usually like eh whatever but you bought SOOOO much life to his character in this fic that I literally would read a fanfiction featuring your theo lmao. I loved his personality so much even tho I'd probably punch him and get so angry at him if he was my friend because sometimes he really needs to shut the fuck up but this personality also seems to REALLY suit him and I just loved him so much. I loved all the characters!!! you just wrote them so well that I never got bored because they were all interesting!! tom and harrys relationship was the best thing ever I literally wanted to strangle them both so much I loved it. I love how much they love eachother and the PINING and SLOW BURN HAD ME SCREAMING AT MY PHONE LIKE CAN YALL FUCKIN KISS ALREADY HOLY SHIT???? and your writing was absolutely phenomenal. I didn't really know what the fuck was going on during the plays because like I said I don't know much about theatre lol but man it was so awesome to read and I could just imagine it all in my head when i was reading it 😩 also I really loved how you wrote Sirius I cried when harry called him and he relapsed but im so happy he got sober!!! I loved all the professors and how you wrote them as well. I was almost losing my shit during harrys first class with snape and im a snape lover LOL but I was like what the FUCK. later on I'm like ok nvm he cool. I loved how Dumbledore came to visit harry and tom during the Christmas break when they literally were high af LMAO. I feel like Dumbledore would smoke weed too tbh. Also this is such a specific moment but I laughed when all the students were graduating and theo made McGonagall do a fist bump with him i can picture that so well it made me Crack tf up. Ugh I just loved this fic so much I would pay you to write a sequel (jk... unless...haha...) but no fr soooo good. I am on my hands and knees praying that you have more ideas for more long tomarry fics again in the future 😭🙏🛐
oh my lord HI this ask is so nice i love love love getting comments or asks from people who literally JUST finished a fic and have so much to say about it!! it's so flattering as an author bc i get the feeling my passion for the project got spread to my readers!!
my characters....my babies.... this fic really revealed a passion i have for making people LMAO i am so happy you enjoyed these characters all together <3 there exists in my docs a version of these characters together in a canon setting and oh my shaylas... my children they're babies in it!! unfortunately that fic SUCKS so it will most likely nawt see the light of day lol sorry but trust the characters are so sweet in it
believe it or not i am by no means a theatre kid!! in fact in france we don't even have theatre at school, other than analysing texts for the more literary classes! it's just a small passion i have, love how pretentious it is! but honestly thank god most readers are not theatre kids bc i'm sure there are things in the fic that are like....girl this is bullshit... writing is like lying and pretending you know things about things when you don't lol
(dumbledore definitely used to smoke weed, but by the time in which the fic is set he most assuredly discovered edibles)
i am SO happy you discovered ethel cain via this fic!! preacher's daughter changed my life fr! however, listening to it on shuffle....a thousand years in the dungeon!! crazy behaviour i cannot lie
thank you so so much for the ask! (and sorry for the late reply) it really makes me happy seeing people like this fic in particular <33

tbh I’m convinced Sirius was intended to be read as unrequitedly in love with James, the vibes were there. And he fails to notice the girls eyeing him up in the exam, plus he’s SO fixated on Severus. It would mirror Snape’s doomed feelings for Lily, kids from bad homes who latch intensely on to the happy carefree cherished person they want to be. Characters have been interpreted as queer for much less.
(in this theory the posters of muggle women got written in as a detail because JKR realised that Sirius seeing James in Harry gets a little weird…)
Or maybe it just pissed him off that Severus might have a chance with Lily while he would never have one with James, because James was fully heterosexual, and his feelings had no possibility of being reciprocated—leading to a bitter projection based on envy that was completely unconscious but sublimated into anger.
Leaving fanon theories aside, I really think—and always have—that Sirius was obsessed with James. Just as Lily was Severus’s attachment figure, James was Sirius’s. I believe Sirius saw James as a role model: his equal in blood status and social class, a sort of mirror image of himself. At the same time, though, James’s parents were loving and warm, and they weren’t blood supremacists. James was like a better version of Sirius, and Sirius wanted to be like him because he felt that was the way to shed the stigma of being a Black.
I also think we can interpret this type of attachment without fear or shame as something that, over the years, evolved into something also sexual. Sirius genuinely developed an attraction to James that went beyond the platonic. His relationship with James is very reminiscent of Severus and Lily’s, but without the falling out. I also think Sirius, in this case, didn’t understand or wasn’t fully aware of his own emotions. He likely had a ton of internalized homophobia or simply didn’t know how to identify those feelings properly because, after all, “a boy is supposed to like girls, not boys,” and all that nonsense.
I’ve always seen Sirius as bisexual, but not fully aware of it—thinking his fixation on James was just “normal” between friends, and simply believing he loved James as much as a “brother.” But let’s be honest: Sirius’s entire life revolved around James. Everything was James to him. Remus and Peter meant very little to him—I have no proof, but I also have no doubts that he only hung out with them because James genuinely liked them. Sirius didn’t care about them. That’s why he didn’t hesitate to involve Remus in an attempted murder and why he was the first to distrust him later. And it’s why he treated Peter like a pet.
The thing is, I’ve always thought Sirius was obsessed with James in a way that bordered on romantic or sexual, even if Sirius himself wasn’t fully aware of it. I’ve also always thought that if he had survived and settled down, he would have ended up with some wealthy, pureblood woman, just like James—because Sirius clearly has a type, and it’s not Muggle-borns, half-bloods, or poor people.
And I’ll go further: not being able to sublimate his desires with James, Sirius likely would have gone to the other end of the spectrum: being with a woman who was very similar to his mother. Without the ideology of blood purity or dark arts, but with the same dominant, awful personality—because Sirius is absolutely walking Freudian material. The guy is a true Black through and through.

Snape makes me so fucking mad holy fuck, I’m incapable of thinking of him positively. I don’t even like Draco and I think of him 10x more positively than I think of Snape.
What kind of person gets bullied as a child and then grows up and bullies the child of his bully like that makes him way worse than James (btw I love James and I fully believe he matured and grew up and is a good person who deserved more than for Snape to tell a literal Nazi terrorist to kill him and his infant son but to leave his wife alive). Snape had way more power over the kids he taught than James did over him and what did he do with it?
He made fun of their appearance and scared them to the point that he was Neville’s boggart (which when you think about it is so awful because 1, Neville’s parents got tortured into insanity and I’m pretty sure he was there, and his boggart probably should have been Bellatrix or his uncle even, and 2, he did it because Neville was the other possible prophecy child and Snape was upset that Voldie didn’t pick him to kill when HE GAVE HIM THE PROPHECY IN THE FIRST PLACE).
He said shitty things about Harry’s dead parents and orphan-hood, was glaring at Harry literally right off the bat so don’t say it was because he got into trouble a lot, asked him questions he couldn’t possibly know, told Draco to summon a serpent during duelling club??? How irresponsible is that???
Literally lied to the minister just to get Sirius killed, which atp is ridiculous (I think Sirius was dumb as fuck, careless, possibly malicious, to tell snape where to go to find moony, but snape literally already suspected that Remus was a werewolf so idk what the fuck he thought was gonna happen if he found him during the full moon, and calling it a murder attempt is a stretch), like grow up please this man was in Azkaban for 12 years which is a hugely disproportionate punishment for anything he did do to you, and the reason he was there in the first place was literally fraudulent, which he knew and he lied anyway.
And honestly the Legilimancy lessons were fucking joke, who looks through an abused kids memories and makes fun of both the abuse and the few good memories he has?? And then he’s surprised that Harry tried to equal the playing field between them?? Snape had way more power than Harry did, and obviously it wasn’t the best thing to do to a person but yk what I’m not going to judge Harry’s actions, Snape was abusive and the victim isn’t to blame for their reactions to their abuser.
And he threw Harry across the room for seeing his memories?? Abuse. To be honest even seeing the memory about James being a bully felt like JKR trying to make shit up as fast as possible to make Snape seem more redeemable, which apparently worked for some people who think abusing kids is okay as long as you have a tragic backstory and an abusive parent. And it actually makes me really mad that he thought Harry was treated like a prince so decided to treat him like shit so he wouldn’t get any ideas about having self esteem or confidence, then found out that he was abused and then just did nothing and tbh treated him worse. And the lessons themselves were actually painful to Harry?? They definitely made his mind more vulnerable, he had more nightmares.
And let’s not forget that he joined a Nazi group that wanted to exterminate people like his best friend, called his best friend a slur, viewed Lily as an exception to the other muggleborns, and invented sectumsempura for his enemies IN SCHOOL which means the Maurauders.
And it makes me sick that he looked in a room with a crying baby whose parents just got murdered, his mom right in front of him, and a dead woman who was killed by his Nazi leader like directly because of his actions, and then he ignored the baby and went to hug the woman’s dead body. Like if I was Lily, I wouldn’t want him near either my body or my child, but if he was my only option, then he better be fucking taking care of my living son. Like she rejected him his weird obsession for her freaks me tf out.
And I get that without Snape asking for Lily to be spared, Voldemort wouldn’t have asked Lily to stand aside and the blood protection wouldn’t have been activated, but literally once good thing happening because of a tragedy he caused doesn’t make him a good person.
Anyway. Think I got it out of my system for now. Fuck Snape. :)
Edit: Just to be clear, I actually find his character really compelling, even though I dislike him and his actions. And of course I’m not saying no one can like Snape.
#anti snape apologists#anti snape#fuck snape fr#snape bashing#actually no it’s not because these are factual things that he’s done and they’re not exaggerated and he’s just a shitty person#not a good person who made mistakes

propaganda I’m not falling for
-the girl marauders characters having little to no personality
-skinny Lily
-‘walburga wasnt all bad’ (she was a bitch, there is nothing that excuses her actions)
-any Peter hate BEFORE he betrayed the marauders. After he betrayed them hate away but before he betrayed them…
-regulus being completely uwu innocent not at all mean (same for all the skittles tbh)(except Pandora)
-Sirius being a horrible brother
-any of the marauders being completely horrible or completely good people (theyre complex and have flaws)
-every ship having a d/s dynamic
-any Lily Evans hate
-‘snape loved Lily and that’s why he protected Harry!’ (Snape was an obsessive racist incel)
-all of the slytherin skittles being forced to join the Death Eaters (it doesn’t matter if they had racist views or were manipulated into it. I believe that almost all of them chose to join the dark lord)
-straight remus
-Remus NOT being the Casanova of grtffindor tower (my guy was a whore)
-Lily Evans hate (again)
-skinny Peter
-people who make Peter aroace not due to genuine hc but cause they don’t think anyone would date the fat kid
-straight Mary
