1. Is writing a hobby or a way of life?

I mean technically it is a hobby, but can it not be a way of life too? Lol. Seriously though, I get like, grumpy or really down if I go too long without writing; it's my passion/creative fuel in life, so yeah.

2. A journal full of notes or a clean completed manuscript?

Clean manuscript. I don't really journal much; I have some stuff jotted down in my notes app in my phone, but most of my brainstorming just happens in my head lol, so then I write it down and edit it in manuscript.

3. Who or what inspired your writing?

I'm not really sure! As a kid I had a huge imagination, I loved playing pretend more than anything, so I think as I grew up, since I couldn't play anymore, I took to writing down the stories I thought up instead. In general though, I find music incredibly inspiring; I get my best ideas (and best writing too) while listening to good music.

4. Which is worse: Someone you ‘idolize’ reading your first draft or listening to you sing?

Oh lord, listening to me sing is worse. I can't sing! Lmao. I'm pretty happy with my writing, though, and like, if the person knows it's a first draft, they should be more lenient anyway lol.

5. Has writing from someone else’s POV changed your perspective?

tbh I don't super understand this question. Like I'm still the one writing it? so it has to be my perspective to a degree? I guess writing different POVs makes me consider things on a deeper level and to explore things maybe I don't instinctively think, but like, I still got there, so it's still kind of my perspective?? Maybe my brain is just broken lol sorry.

6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?

ao3 my beloved! It's the only ff site I've ever used (I was a late bloomer to entering the world of ff, I didn't get into it until my mid twenties) and I can't imagine going elsewhere. Tumblr is fun to post shorter/less edited stuff on too though.

7. AO3 word count? And are you satisfied with it?

On my sparrow-in-the-field account it's 220,866. On my older ao3 account it's 944,120 (figures I lost inspo for that fandom so close to a milly lolol; maybe someday I'll get back to it). Yeah I'm satisfied! Who cares lol, I just write what I wanna write and it ends up however long it's gonna end up.

8. What movie/book gripped you irrevocably?

Ohh that's tough! I mean besides the obvious grip that tbitb has on me currently...I guess I'll say The Series of Unfortunate Events (the books). I'm kind of unusual as a writer in that I actually didn't like reading as a kid, and this series was like, the first time I truly enjoyed and was captured by books.

9. What’s the highest compliment you could ever be given, and have you been given it?

I'm lucky enough that it's happened a handful of times throughout my ff writing, but when people share with me that my fic was healing or gave them needed comfort during a hard time. I genuinely can't think of anything that means more to me than that; writing is so cathartic and healing for me, that passing on that love and support to the reader is just so incredibly special to me. I literally sit and feel so thankful when people share something like that with me, I never want to take it for granted.

10. What defines your writing style?

Dialogue. I write such dialogue heavy stories, it's what comes naturally to me. Long descriptions are the enemy lol. Trope-wise, I'm big on hurt/comfort and angst with a happy ending.

I love how everyone’s process of writing fanfic is different. I’ve realized that other people actually plan the fics out. Like they sit down, give themselves an overview for what they want accomplished in each chapter and then go from there. Some people write it down and then type it out. Then there’s me who gets an idea and just starts immediately typing and rolls with it. Earlier I got inspo to write a fic that’s been an idea popping in and out of my head for a while but I would always push it to the back burner.

But today that writer itch hit while it was super slow at work (probably due to the holiday) and I just dropped what I was doing. I’ve got 4 chapters now. I dunno why but fics come more naturally to me when I just pick up my phone and open the notes app and can let my mind just roll with whatever it comes up with. I usually don’t think about it much, I just start typing. I’ve realized that’s just how I write. Having ADHD I can’t sit and just plan out everything that’s going on. My mind will have a multitude of ideas that I have to get out in 3-4 chapters and then I come back to it when I mind starts rolling with ideas again.

This has been a blessing and a curse. A curse mainly for longer stories because then I’m like, “ok, where does the plot go now?” Which is currently where I’m at with an active fic (unfortunately). But for shorter stories it kinda just goes and goes until I feel like it’s a good end point which works out sometimes, which is what happened with Greasing My Wheels. It was like I just started and kept going and going until ending it just felt right.

Anyway, I just found it fascinating as I scrolled through Twitter and saw about 4 fic authors that I love all sharing a different approach to how they were getting chapters up either today or in the near future. I just found it interesting all the different ways that authors can write fic and just felt like making a post about it *shrugs*

Not really a requestion, just a question, how did you ever get into designing gear, etc. I've always loved the idea of just designing clothes/gear/ etc. but never really knew any way to do it or learn how to, if that makes any sense.

anon you just made me so happy lmao, i could honestly talk for hours over it. likewise to you, i've always loved the idea of making clothing and/or creating gears for people in general. they actually started off as scribbles in my phone notes app and then i downloaded a sketchbook app and tried to do it more professionally / making it look better. eventually i got the courage to post to socials and my first designs were absolutely HORRIBLE but people were nice about it. they're much better now because the more you draw / design the better the quality is. i'm self taught.

once you establish how you want your style to look you gain more eyes. mine definitely are not the most amazing pieces but i can safely say i'm followed by some of my favourite wrestlers and i've even designed for some that have come to life.

but my one key word of advice would be a TON of practice. make moodboards / inspo boards on pinterest and learn in your own time, eventually you'll get to the point where you want to share it and the rest is history lol. i'd recommend starting with smaller wrestlers as they'll get you seen faster. i personally started with people from my hometown and the word spread fast. if you want to, you can message and i can show you some of my creations.

[off-site question] 'what is your system for tracking Flight Rising info?' (asking in reference to notn prep convo)

saw something about keeping all fr tracking info in their phone's notes app...got me thinking about my system for info tracking for fr + the evolution of it. I used to use my mobile phone notes but then moved to google docs pretty quickly and adapting to sometimes use discord. My current system is a chaotic mess due to my hiatus/return, new things/events I missed, and only recently getting my first very own computer, when everything before was phone or laptop.

My system can be primarily summarized by the following breakdown:

-> s p r e a d s h e e t s - I got back into fr after a long ass hiatus and immediately decided that my lifelong aversion to spreadsheets was over and I locked in to teach myself how to use them in the way that I want to, to replace my 'everything in google docs' trash...

I currently have sheets for: notn prep, hibden tasks, and project tracking (especially) I also use sheets other people have made for FR closest in-game color calculator and other stuff, as well though mostly I make my own so I can go crazy with formatting only I like.

I also use google docs still, such as my recent quick little reference for the multiple secret santa events I am participating in this year. I use it a lot less than I used to, especially as I try to/considering switching from google drive to a different file/bookmark collection platform.

-> private/personal server channel - minimal-info stuff that needs quick access

Not a lot of people, afaik, use the ability to create a discord server for just themselves to their advantage. I throw things from my clipboard to here to grab later/move to other places, keep things super easy to find in-house to share later in a dm/server. I also have a specific thread of name ideas and what I have and haven't used, though it isn't efficient and may be moved somewhere else for formatting. But for (temp) hosting, easy access between devices, easy sharing w others and organization within my most used site/app, it's good.

trying to make and use more forum threads since I realized how much I like looking at other people's (lore/dump/journal/tracker, etc) threads as reference/inspo and for fun. It is cool to see how others interact with the game, with it having such diverse options for engaging with it. Especially older threads, like woah!! Time capsule of old fr!! I am interested in internet/media archiving,,,

-> dragon bios - tracker dragons specifically, of which I have a couple

they hold more than they should rn lol...ideally and hopefully in the future, they will just be overviews of the specific dragon's lore, with more fleshed out stuff other places + all related links and art! :) currently my main focus for tracking in dragon bios is tracking each dragon and its associated projects or pairs, and tracking purchase, gening and some outfit plan stuff. Its a good basis for my other, more in-depth trackers to have an easy way to reference on the individual dragon scale (ahhah accidental pun). I reference them a lot.

-> profile/clan bio - I do not put much tracking info in my clan/profile bio, mostly to keep it simple and not overwhelming but also because I find it a little bit more annoying to update and can be confusing when people come across my page for the first time...Currently pending a big old profile bio revamp, trying to come up with formatting ideas and looking for profile bio templates (is it just me or are there so little of them floating around..?) I definitely want to include a selection of specific things,,, I try to prioritize links and commonly referenced info and then general being friendly/intro stuff. also aesthetics....I will be, and others even more, looking at it a lot... I am slowwlyyyy getting to my bigger to-do items I swear, I just procrastinate with making new projects and scrolling aimlessly on forums....

to answer your first question, your secondary blog works just like your normal blog. there used to be limitations, like only being able to reply to posts using your main url. the only remaining difference i can think of is that you can only follow from your main blog, and you only have the one feed.

how to create a new blog:

there still isn't a way to do this using the app. mobile or desktop browser is the way to go 😗👍

click the 'account' tab

click '+ new'

whats the purpose? it can be for organization, like if you want highly curated aesthetic blogs for different styles. or maybe you want to collect videos/music in one spot, and would prefer a separate blog to a curated tag. that's one of multiple purposes.

another may be if you have a project that involves a blog. the owners of all the bots, cats, gimmicks, polls, and art events with dedicated accounts likely also run their own personal blogs like we do. i'd assume those are mostly sideblogs.

i have one for all of the very nsfw content (horror, lesbians, etc) + some nice gothic stuff i want to post/rb. i do this to keep my main blog more palatable, especially for the mutuals ive had for years. and i like having the more gritty stuff all together.

i also have this one to gather inspo and notes for the tv series i've been working on. as i make major developments, or prepare character info, i plan to share those here.

Girl don't like being at home no more cuz home doesn't feel like home😔 so she tries to avoid going home as much as possible

Girl go party

Girl wake up in mystery guys bed

*ITS THE NICE POPULAR GUY THAT EVERYONE LIKES and wanna gets with🤭😏* ( he was the host btw )

Girl be like : GOTTA GO😅

Guy : NO WAIT! pls stay longer

( he has small crush on her but both of them don't realize it, he develops it when he starts seeing her stayback after school more, he does too- reason is revealed later)

As both of them continue living together, they start feeling more and more comfy with each other and soon always want to be tgt

so when their relationship starts getting closer and closer, will they be able to experience the warm feeling of having a home?? ( Metaphorical sense )
