Can I confess that back when I was 15 I had this headcanon a while back where Gyro (Gearloose)'s mother died when he was 6 years old which I thought of purely because I thought she wasn't mentioned anywhere in Gearloose History. And that I ran with this headcanon for a solid three (3) years Only to find out recently that she actually did get a mention once in a comic iirc thereby rendering my entire headcanon and the reasoning for it false. Yeah that was sure something huh
#this is a weird way to drop that i'm 18 now LOLLL#anyways i kept projecting the dead mother thing into my ocs which were inspired by gyro gearloose#so that's something i guess lol#lang uage

gyro wants me dead argopro wants me dead everyone wants me dead. can't take this shit anymore
#skittles.txt#I DON'T WANNA TAG ALL OF THEM . do I give them a joint tag. What on earth do I make it tho#it’s hard bc my dynamic with gyro is nayuta is my brother and I kiss all 4 of his bandmates. like how do u make a joint tag for that#wtvr that’s BESIDES the point.#the point is the symbolism killed me. idk if I’m strong enough to explain rn#THERES ALSO. A CLIP IN THE MV SHOWING NAYUTAS CHILDHOOD LIKE A TINY BIT. GIRL#it was umm. well. that is a topic for a different post#I’m not even kidding when I say I was gonna write an essay about nayuta for college but then I dropped out#I might write smth about him anyway tho. I’d love to say I get him on a deep level however I don’t rly. I’m learning tho#I don’t know everything about him to the point I can joke about no one getting him like I can however#he means so so much to me and I think about him extremely often and that alone slowly makes me understand him better#bc I’m constantly doing a deep dive of his character in my head and learning new things just from thinking about him#does that make sense. look me in the eyes does that make sense .#I love all my familial f/os so much but I don’t think I’ve had this much of a connection to one since like. samatoki a few years back#samatoki might still be more tho idk just dormant bc I don’t pay attention to hypm*c anymore. off topic#point is I love nayuta :3 he wouldn’t be able to stand my ass. I’m his special little guy tho /p so it’s ok#f:nayuta#<- I’m at least tagging him since I’m explicitly talking abt him#in the tags anyway

hi i see that you have much smart dog experience. i may have accidentally purchased such a dog. she's only 10 weeks, and ive had her 1, and she's already outmatched every puzzle feeder i got or have made. to the point that she is morosely disappointed when her food comes in an actual food bowl. do you know where i can find like. "heres 100 enrichment toys you can make out of free trash so your dog stops eating fucking rocks for enrichment" lists. i only have so many paper towel tubes XD
Herschel now just disassembles puzzle feeders, so I've been focusing on "Toys that, even if he already knows how to operate them, will still take TIME for him to collect the treat from" to give him something to fuss with.
Herschel eats all his meals out of a Kong Wobbler, because he will otherwise eat so fast he will literally inhale and choke on his kibble and I do not need him developing pneumonia from aspiration. Even though it's a "Simple" toy it slows him down and he does have to think a bit to tip it in the most efficient manner possible. Kong's "Flipz", "Gyro" and "Rewards Wally" are also really good "dog needs to think/carefully manipulate the toy for food" toys that act as both mental stimulation and exercise and "give human a break for up to twelve minutes" toys.
I highly reccomend KONG as a brand- they're local to Denver and have an impeccable saftey record and all of the toys I have gotten from them have held up extremely well vs. the ravages of three entirely too smart and strong-jawed dogs at once.
Some more thoughts:
If she's not prone to shredding rubber, the kind of treat toys she has to chew are also good stimulation.
If you don't want to give her That Many treats, my vet said that dogs can have as many green beans as they want. Just make sure that the beans haven't had salt added to them- canned usually does, but frozen green beans usually don't, but always check the label.
You can make nearly any toy last longer, or make a cheap long-puzzle by freezing the treats so they take longer to eat AND provides hydration. Herschel's most favorite treat of all time is literally a wad of sliced green beans in a dixie cup, filled with water and frozen. Just peel off the cup and hand him the chunk of ice and he's good for up to half an hour and more chill afterwards.
You can also freeze lick mats
If your girl is like Charlie and doesn't like greenbeans, you can also try freezing paper cups of: Canned pumpkin, apple slices in water, putting some ice cubes in the bottom of the cup, a gob of peanut butter in the middle and then fill it with water to make a peanutbutter filled ice cube.
If your girl is REALLY like charlie who has figured out how to use labor negotiation and strike tactics for better treats: boiled chicken chunks frozen in some of the water you boiled them in.
Walkies are as much mental stimulation as they are physical exercise. Take her out and let her sniff to her heart's content.
Also Puppies in particular need like, SO MUCH exercise.
Let her participate in activities with you. Herschel and charlie sit in the kitchen and I narrate cooking dinner to them, which seems to interest them, even if I don't have spare veggie ends to give them. I also frequently bring them along in the car if I'm running errands when it's cold enough to do that, so they have something new to look at, and get to participate. I also am more likely to stop at a new park and give myself some exercise and mental stimulation.
Training her to do tasks is GREAT Smart Dog enrichment- esp if she's a herding or heeler, they LOVE being helpful. I taught the dogs they get a small treat if they come in from the yard without me having to go chase them down, which saved me a lot of hassle, and now I'm working on teaching herschel to pick things up off the floor for me if I drop them and alert for chickpeas, which my housemate is allergic to.
A lot of dogs like cat-type toys. Tie a stick or some fleece to some paracord and drag or flycast it around for her to chase/play tug with when she catches it. Toys that bounce unexpectedly were also a huge hit. or just wave the string around the cat and the corgi both like that.
If you live in farm country or know other people with pets, you can grab something with the scent of another animal on it and bring it home for her to smell. Charlie and Herschel spent the better part of three days investigating the wad of horse undercoat I brought home and put in the spare wobbler for them to smell.

Chronology of Major Gyjo moments (sources cited)
Gyro refuses to leave Johnny behind despite making it a point that he won't be slowed down by him
Chapter 14 - Across the Arizona Desert: Continuing on the Shortest Route
2) After being attacked, Johnny states the only one he trusts is Gyro
Also, early example of Johnny being willing to give the corpse up to save Gyro (even before Sugar Mountain!)
Chapter 27: Tusk (Part 3)
3) Gyro disobeying his father and familial tradition by giving in to his urge to save Johnny (and thereby fight like a 'true man' for what he wants)
Chapter 35: The True Man's World (Part 3)
4) Gyro putting his faith in Johnny to defeat their attacker. When Johnny thinks he's failed, he cradles Gyro's face and asks for forgiveness. (it's a major moment. to me)
Chapter 44: A Silent Way (Part 5)
5) Ok this one is just a little sus but I'm putting it in anyway: Gyro dreaming of that time he slept with one of his patients, only to immediately wake up and have a domestic scene with Johnny. For what purpose...?
Chapter 45: The Promised Land Sugar Mountain (Part 1)
6) Johnny gives up the corpse parts for Gyro (again), immediately followed by them drinking away their sorrows into the sunset. Who's doing it like them.
Chapter 48: Tubular Bells (Part 1)
7) Gyro finds the Golden Rectangle, previously described as, “… the foundation for every perfect structure for beauty" (Chapter 43: A Silent Way, Part 4) in Johnny eyes, and refuses to answer Johnny's question about where he's finding it. The implications of what Gyro thinks of Johnny's physical appearance are obvious.
Chapter 52: Wrecking Ball (Part 2)
8) Gyro sacrifices his hand, his only other point of reference for the Golden Rectangle, in order to save Johnny from a hit he probably could have tanked. Even Gyro looks a little surprised at himself... Also, they are all over each other this arc. Gyro is especially protective.
And, a little later:
Chapter 53: Wrecking Ball (Part 3)
9) Once it's revealed that Valentine intends to kill the rest of the racers (at least the ones who pose a threat to him), and makes an attempt on Johnny's life, Gyro attempts to convince Johnny to drop out, implying that he would drop out with him.
Of course, this is immediately followed by Johnny begging Gyro to, at the very least, help Lucy and see what she knows about the corpse parts. Seeing Johnny's distress at being so close to his goal only to have it snatched away from him convinces Gyro to stay in the race (something that will ultimately get him killed) and theorize how they can use the spin to defeat Valentine (via the stirrups). He tries to play it off but goddamn he is in love with him.
Chapter 72: Ticket to Ride (Part 2)
10) Shuiesha coloring may imply that Johnny is wearing Gyro's shirt beneath his own?? It's got the same collar and everything.
First appearance of this coloring choice is Chapter 63: 7 Days in a Week
11) Exchange of secrets no one else knows (they are each other's most important person!)
This panel in particular:
Chapter 76: D4C (Part 9)
12) And last but not least, thee set of chapter titles ever, in which Valetine attempts to bargain with Johnny to spare his life in return for bringing back Gyro. Johnny refuses, not because of any moral quandary about saving the life of an evil man, but because the Gyro brought back would not be the same. On top of that, he recognizes Valentine as a liar.
When it's all over, Johnny just breaks.
And that's the end of the chapter!
Chapters 88 and 89: Break My Heart, Break Your Heart (Parts 1 & 2)
13) Johnny's Goodbye (I like this scene more in b+w what can I say)
Chapter 95: The World of Stars and Stripes (Outro)
Obviously Johnny and Gyro have a lot of smaller moments too, but these are the ones that come to mind when I think of them!
#gyjo catalogue#gyjo repository#gyjo#gyro zeppeli#johnny joestar#steel ball run#sbr#holy fuck the resolution is garbage#anyway. I fully believe they were in love. I love gay people#my posts

Hot for Teacher(s) 16
Part 15
Shawn watched as the Pre-K students walked in a line down the hallway. They were so little. They still got naptime and cried in the morning when their parents dropped them off. Shawn couldn’t remember being like that, but he remembered that age. He remembered having good and bad times with his sire.
There were games of catch, and trips to the park. There were times when he needed a hand to hold and he reached for his dad’s, the one person he knew in a crowd of strangers. But then there were nights of shouting. Nights where he was afraid for his other dad. And for himself. Nights where one dad tried to rush him upstairs before he could hear and see the worst of it. But being up in his room and hearing a muffled argument was sometimes worse than being present. He was left to guess what was happening until footsteps came to his room.
Anytime he fought with Billy and Shawn was around, Steve made a point to come up and check on him. Not just for Shawn’s sake but his own. He couldn’t relax until he made sure his pup was safe.
Shawn shook his head as he fiddled with the hall pass, continuing on his way to the bathroom. He knew that 7-4=3. That was easy math. And yet those three years between him and pre-k seemed like a million years instead.
-------------------
Steve made the decision the day Eddie came back from the park and told him Billy had approached them. They needed to get away for a bit. And spring break gave them the perfect opportunity to do so. It would be the four of them. Him, Shawn, Robin, and now Eddie. Steve had quite the itinerary planned as they drove to their hotel in the city.
He knew he’d made the right choice when Shawn woke him up the first day of break. He had pounced right on his torso, his grunt and the force of Shawn somehow not waking Eddie up at all.
The first day they were simply walking about the streets, getting some exploring in. Steve and Robin took as many pictures as humanly possible. Steve of course, was a sucker for his kid and knew these moments would be fleeting as he got older. But also Eddie turned out to be a very good subject. Very briefly Steve thought about how even in his most obsessed shutterbug phase, he had very few pictures of Shawn and Billy together.
It felt like he already had more of his pup and Eddie sharing the same frame. But after that thought he pushed Billy from his mind because Eddie was posing, pretending to drink from a huge fountain and Shawn was mirroring him.
They got lunch from a food truck and while sitting on a bench Eddie and Robin argued about the pronunciation of ‘gyro’. Shawn sat between them, watching the debate like a hockey match. They were getting pretty spirited but even he could tell it was all in fun. It wasn’t a real argument.
“Steve. Tiebreaker”, Robin urged.
“You’re gonna call me a traitor if I side with Eddie. And if I side with you, Eddie will go all drama queen on me.”
Eddie then looked down to Shawn. “Back me up Shawnie, shouldn’t it be pronounced the way it’s spelled?”
Shawn tilted his head as he looked at the word on the side of the truck. “If it’s said the way it’s spelled, wouldn’t it be ‘guy-roh’?”
“And a third contender enters the ring”, Steve announced.
They finished lunch and went for a walk around the nearby park. After, they went back onto the streets and just happened to pass by a theatre that was having a puppet show. They bought tickets and Steve was surprised by how engrossed Shawn was. Sometimes it seemed like kids today were growing up faster than before, his son especially. It was moments like these that reminded him he was still so young and new.
“You should use puppets in class”, Shawn suggested to Eddie when the show ended.
“Another compliment about my amazing voice work?”, he batted his lashes.
“Yeah, they’re really funny”, Shawn laughed.
That night at the hotel, Steve and Robin went through all their photos, sharing their favorites. Steve had Robin’s phone and his breath caught in his throat.
“I think I found my favorite”, he said.
The picture had him, Shawn, and Eddie. Shawn stood between them, holding both of their hands. It was the picture of something he always wanted. Someone who loved his pup and him and wanted to be in their lives.
The next day was spent mostly at the museum. Eddie had plenty to say in the dinosaur exhibit but Steve was the one to lead them through the human history exhibits. When they arrived at the insect pavilion though, both let their excitement take over.
“See here Shawn this is…”
“And they’ve adapted the most perfect camouflage…”
“That kind of stunning coloration…”
“Only a few other insects are known to…”
“And they’re pretty deadly too…”
“Thought to bring good luck…”
Shawn was enthralled of course. Bugs were cool. But before either teacher knew it, there was a small gaggle of young museum goers who were hanging onto their every word. Shawn would’ve thought it weird if his teacher wasn’t so great. And he guessed his dad was pretty good at teaching too.
“Alright, who’s ready to learn about gemstones and rocks?”, Eddie asked, which prompted about half a dozen arms to go in the air.
-------------------
Obviously, they didn’t lead a whole impromptu tour group of kids through the museum. It was spring break for teachers too. And Steve was glad to only be responsible for his own pup, if just for a few days. With a sigh, he fell back against the bed in the room he and Eddie were sharing. Robin and Shawn had the room next to them. His feet were aching but Shawn and Eddie were still matching each other’s energy.
“What do you say you and me go out for some more?”, Eddie offered to the boy.
“Yeah we can feed the ducks! Or see a movie, or or or-”
“Have fun you two”, Steve called out. “Dinner downstairs tonight?”
“Sounds good”, Eddie said, already holding Shawn’s hand.
“They close at eight”, Steve reminded him.
And then the two were out the door. It was quiet for about three seconds and then Steve heard feet pounding back, what sounded like someone fumbling with their things before the door opened.
“I almost forgot”, Eddie said, kind of breathless as he came back over to Steve. He gave his lips a peck. “There. Can’t leave without it.”
Steve rolled his eyes but then grabbed Eddie’s shirt to bring him in for a real kiss. Eddie followed his pull to lean over more onto the bed and was starting to forget why he was leaving in the first place.
“Hey! Ew!”, Shawn squealed. “We gotta go! Stop being gross!”
They broke apart giggling and Eddie spared Shawn any more kissy-face and walked out with him. Steve felt lighter than air even as they left. He really could spend the day kissing Eddie, surrounded by his scent.
-----------------------
Eddie and Shawn had decided on getting some secret ice cream before dinner. The secret was that Eddie knew Steve didn’t care if Shawn had his dessert before. The food was all going to the same place, the order mattered little when he knew how much his pup ate. Eddie just knew not to get him the biggest sundae in the world.
He let out a breath as Shawn started to eat his ice cream. He didn’t know how else to start this conversation besides to just start it. He knew the ice cream wouldn’t actually help soften any blows. He recalled Wayne sitting him down at his favorite diner when he told him his father would be going away for a long time. The food hadn’t made him feel any better. But it definitely didn’t make him feel worse.
“I wanna talk about your dads, buddy. Them and me and how we all fit together.”
Shawn didn’t pause in his eating, bringing another scoop to his mouth but Eddie knew it was to distract himself. “What about it?”
“You know I’ve been courting your dad. We’re serious about being together. I don’t know how you feel about your other dad, but I want you to know I don’t want you to think you have to love me over him. If you ever want to talk to him, or be close to him, I won’t stop you.”
“....Wouldn’t you be my dad too?”, Shawn asked.
Eddie fidgeted with the rings on his hand. “I’d love to. If you want me to.”
Shawn stirred his slightly melted ice cream around in the bowl. “Are you gonna fight my other dad?”
“Only if he tries to hurt you or Steve”, Eddie answered honestly.
----------------------
It was their last day in the city and they were spending it all a ball game. Eddie wasn’t much for sports but he could see the appeal. And he definitely enjoyed how much fun Steve and Shawn were having, cheering for their time. When night fell though, it was just Steve and Eddie. Steve had just come out of the shower and was grabbing clothes to change into for bed.
Eddie watched him leisurely from the bed, the TV’s volume turned down low. Tonight he would pop the question. Eddie was nervous, sure. But he hated the thought of any more time passing without having tried. When Steve was dressed, he got on the bed and cuddled up to Eddie’s side.
“Baby?”
“Hm?”
Eddie sat up and adjusted his position so that they were facing each other. Steve sat up too, worry marring his features and Eddie just couldn’t have that. Eddie grabbed his hands.
“Steve, I wanna give you my bite.”
Steve’s eyes got glassy and he stopped breathing for a long while before letting out a sob and nodding eagerly. “Yes! Yes please! Right now, give it to me now!”
Eddie held his face and brought him in for a kiss that Steve instantly melted into. It took very little nudging to make him fall back onto the mattress, spread out under Eddie. Eddie’s lips moved to his jaw, then his neck, nose buried deep into his skin. Steve always smelled so beautifully but in this moment of euphoric he was downright intoxicating.
He found Steve’s mating bond and licked at it slowly, then lavished it with kisses. He got to his teeth grazing the skin and that was when Steve finally let out a whine and rolled his hips against Eddie’s.
“Stop teasing”, he urged, grabbing the back of Eddie’s head.
“Not teasing, love. I’m savoring.”
Steve’s mouth opened for another complaint but was cut off when Eddie’s hand cupped at his cunt, giving him something to grind against as Eddie kissed his neck. Steve’s whines turned to whimpers and he felt himself getting closer and closer, just from the magic of Eddie’s hand. Then Eddie’s hand dipped under his hem, finally touching his bare pussy and then biting down hard on his neck.
Eddie felt Steve’s orgasm like his own, his tongue and fingers tingling where they were connected to Steve. He pulled back, licking his lips and admiring his work. But Steve quickly pulled him back in.
“We’re not finished yet”, Steve breathed hotly.

Hey hi hello I'd like to tell you about the wonderful gift my friend @swordsmans made for me.
I literally spent Thursday night just. Looking through it and turning it over in my hands. It's SO pretty and has SUCH A VISION in the making of it. Gyro's work is amazing. Just. Look.
The cover? The gold foil lettering? God. It looks so good on my bookshelf. And the DETAIL. They painted the edges of the pages guys, it looks SO COOL.
(excuse the low-quality photos, I have learned i am terrible at staging books, but just LOOK AT THESE PAGES.)
Okay and now for me waxing poetic about this.
When gyro first mentioned that they were going to start commissions for binding people's fics I was excited for them and also planned to commission them to bind one of my own fics. I knew I wanted to get a bound copy of their fic The Sea Makes Bones of Bodies as well, because if you haven't seen the typesets for that and the copies they've made you really should (here's my personal favorite of their copies). So I reached out and imagine my surprise when I discovered Gyro was already planning to do so.
Genuinely one of my favorite experiences in fandom is seeing people make art for their favorite fics and be inspired by other fanworks so when I tell you that I was BEYOND HONORED about this and SO PUMPED, like. I don't have words. I'm so grateful to have received such a lovely gift (it's on my bookshelf next to my copy of Rilke. Rilke.) and I keep running around with a huge smile on my face because I still can't believe anyone liked my silly Zolu fic enough to be inspired to actually bind it and now I have it in my hands.
I don't actually know anything about bookbinding except for what I've gleaned from Gyro but I did wonder how it would like. Feel in my hand compared to traditionally published books. I'm super careful with it because I love it so much but this thing is not going to fall apart at the drop of a hat. Also the book just feels nice in my hands. Weird thing to notice maybe but Gyro also picked a lovely font? I read the fic (IN BOOK FORM AHHHHHHH) and it was just as readable as it is on AO3 (though obviously this is way better/more special askdfjajjakkkiss).
If you are interested in fanbinding and the actual process Gyro used to make this, they made a post here. If you would like to request a fanbinding project their form is here. Gyro's Kofi is here as well. And if you'd like to follow gyro's fanbinding archive that would be here.
Okay! I think that's all I wanted to say. Gyro it was so lovely to have a front-row seat to the creation process and see how you made the book. Genuinely one of the best gifts I've ever received, thank you so much!!!
#bad blade bindery#fanbinding#zolu#book binding#spill your wine#gyro AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH#I love it so much <3

The one time Gyro decides to be brave and flirt with Donald, but he instantly backs out after his first sentence. It’s so embarrassing, and uncomfortable. Donald always does it to him, so he figured it was his turn but nope nope nope never again. Basically like this:
Gyro: *leans over Donald* Hey cutie, watchu doin tonight?—Nope, never saying that again. Do me a favor, and punch me in the face next time I say that.
Donald: *laughing* You’re cute, but leave the flirting to me toots.
#donro#headcannons#ah yes everyone’s asleep time to drop some more donro shenanigans#((am I getting annoying now with my constant headcannon sharing?? because I have lots more LOL))#asdfgg self projecting my aroace energy onto Gyro right now#I’ve never understood the concept of flirting and I skip over those parts when I’m reading fanfic#how do people do it without feeling awkward and embarrased WHAT LEVEL ARE PEOPLE ON

Cute natural island theme with loads of plants and occasional duplicated statues spread around.
Made a cute park for you that has lots of hybrid flowers and cutesy furniture.
Loves all villagers, but his favorites are the frogs.
🌟
Jolyne:
Surprisingly organized in a sense?
Like you, Ermes, FF and her share a group chat where everyone posts their newest decoration updates, what villagers moved in and might move out, turnip prices.
You trade furniture for the catalog and help each other's museum, teamwork makes the dream work.
Loads of pictures of you four hanging out in the coffeeshop.
One room in her house is dedicated to you and filled with references to your relationship.
Anasui is banned from all islands, and you designed a custom pattern with his face and a red X on it that all of you have next to your airport.
🌟
Johnny:
Johnny wasn't big into it at first and then got completely hooked.
Only Horse and Mouse villagers.
Western themed all the way. Kentucky state flag as his island flag.
Loves Gyroids and has multiple in each room.
Gyro and he trade furniture and ignore the museum completely. They are only interested in decorating their homes and island to have it perfect.
Made it big with turnips but refuses to explain to Gyro how it works.
🌟
Gappy:
Was confused at first why you liked the game so much.
Yasuho and you made him his sailor outfit and buy him some furniture to start him up with.
You two explain the whole concept roughly to him and then let him play.
You never expected him to figure it out super quickly and making loads of money with turnips.
His house was upgraded faster than yours and Yasuho’s, he began making his own custom paths, made an orchard on his island.
He quickly takes a huge liking to the game and loves everything about it.
He leaves the island largely as it is, the only stuff he really decorates are his house, the orchard (reminiscent of the Higashikata one) and the little area with his villagers.
The rooms in his house are all dedicated to a person that he then decorates accordingly to. (You, Yasuho, Holly, the Higashikata Family etc)

bowling headcanons brought to you by Me bc i'm in a bowling league right now and i have to connect everything back to the special little guys that occupy my brain space:
diego sucks ASS at bowling, he could be decent but he lets his frustration get the best of him and finds it difficult to chill out and focus. he thinks it's a silly "sport" anyway, so of course he's not inclined to try very hard if he doesn't care. he can often be spotted changing his score on the terminal and slipping obscene amounts of money to other people so they'll look away when he does it. his pride demands he at least not be the worst, and he's willing to drop money for the sake of it. he also spends a lot on professional gear, thinking that will benefit him, but it ultimately doesn't matter because he's not developing skills on his own 😭
johnny is decent, but he's also not inclined to try very hard. he's a no-nonsense, straight down the lane bowler. he has really good accuracy so strikes are common for him (this greatly frustrates diego 💀)
hot pants is GREAT, has perfect form, always chooses the heaviest ball out of everyone. their strikes are explosive and echo through the entire building LOL, they're just a powerhouse in general and everyone wants them on their team but they prefer playing solo.
gyro is amazing and it pisses everyone off because he doesn't even try that hard 💀 he's got an insane hook, every time he bowls it looks effortless, he's loud as fuck too so the entire building is going to know when he's hit a strike or a spare (which he's especially good at)
#so random fdhskjghdsj i have so many more thoughts but i didn't want this to be a long post 😭#it's a very niche au LOL but the shenanigans these four would have as a team would be NUTS

Thank you a lot for answering my ask, I just plan to ask on Lisa Lisa and Holly only, and you answer for all of them ~
If you can, I want to know the ranking from the easiest to the worst yandere for the Jobro too. Only when you have time of course, I know you working on your multiple projects, I looking forward to reading your work!
~ 🏵️ anon ~
Anon I love receiving asks, send as many as you want. I also LOVE ranking things. I know the jobros are only Speedwagon, Caesar, Kakyoin, Okuyasu, Bucciarati, Hermes, and Gyro but I can include some others, as a treat. Skipping Speedwagon since I just am not in the mood to write for him today oops.
Okuyasu is… difficult to get rid of, but is he really hard to deal with? He just wants to be ordered around, and some attention, that isn’t the end of the world. Sure, you can absolutely never be rid yourself of Okuyasu, but he means very, very well. He has no ulterior motives, and with how honest he is, what’s the issue? If you can’t handle an obsessive devoted type like Okuyasu, you have no business trying to handle any of the names further down this list.
It almost seems cruel to put Jean-Pierre on a list with such intelligent, strategy-based yanderes. He truly is just a man in love who happens to be a little (a lot.) creepy, but he’s tame compared to the bottom of this list. He’s like that guy that always hits on you during your shift but tips reaaally well. You’re kind of expecting to find him in the parking lot with rope and a knife after your shift with the way he looks you up and down, but it never happens. Jean-Pierre is after one thing- true love. He’s the type of grown man who still believes in pinky promises, and, truthfully, if you pinky swear you love him with all your heart and are only going out to go shopping or something, he’ll really believe you. He’s got some clear boundaries- don’t walk around without him (especially at night), tell him what your plans are and who you’re expecting to meet, and call him if he’s ever not around and you need to go from one place to another. Even if it’s in the dead of night, Jean-Pierre wants to make sure you get home safe. Even if he’s upset with you, there’s just some lines he will never cross. He’d never put his hands on you, both in a sexual assault way and a physical abuse way, and generally prefers to pretend to back off when you snap at him to leave you alone. Following you from behind is a good compromise, right.
Hermes is the type of girl to say she doesn’t care but goes to scream in her pillow about it later. She really, really likes you. It shouldn’t be this stressful to grab your attention and keep it. She’s tried about everything she can do in prison to get your attention- working out near you if you go to the gym, talking loudly in the yard and running laps so she can keep passing by you (even though the sun’s in your eyes), eating lunch and dinner at a table where you can see her, she’s even resorted to picking up whatever books you barely touched in the library- just for a little touch. She’ll lean against the railing in front of your cell. What, she can’t stand here? It’s a free country. She can loiter wherever the hell she wants to. Hermes loves watching over you, she’ll be damned if she lets anything hurt her baby. As long as you let her keep watch, she’s not gonna do shit. Hermes might get a little annoying, but she genuinely just wants to help you. She can’t just stand there and watch you need her. If you say she’s being too clingy, or that she calls you too many pet names, she’ll back off a little, but won’t just drop it all. You just need some space, and she’s happy to make sure you’re all good from over there.
Guido isn’t afraid to flash his gun, or to stick it in your chest as a way to move his hands around. You know italians, always talking with their hands, he doesn’t mean anything by it. Guido can actually take a no! Chronic catcaller over here gets rejected in canon, and what does he do? He brushes it off and moves on. Guido’s a bit obsessed with finding “the one,” so he tells himself that it just wasn’t meant to be. With you, though… everything connects back to you, so it must mean that he should seek you out more. He’s a hard man to get rid of- he’s delusional and fully of the belief that he was made for you. He wants to give himself to you, and often fantasizes about you wanting him. Guido does just about everything he can to make you see him in that way. He’ll lift his sweater up to show off his muscles, he’ll pick up furniture and move it wherever Trish demands for the same reason, he’ll even stand waaay too close in confined spaces to check if you like the new soap he’s using. It’s unscented, he’s kind of praying that you just like his smell. Something about pheromones or whatever bullshit Panna was yapping about. He's that oversized dog that follows you around, begging for you to hold his leash. Guido won’t kill you if you resist him, but he’s not super lenient like most think he is. Guido’s smart. He knows to check for your shadow under furniture and doors, he knows what a dirty plate actually looks like, and he knows what gas from the stove smells like. He wants to keep this simple and stress-free, so he’s not gonna bring it up, but he knows, and will take the needed moves to keep you right where he wants you- within his line of sight at all times. Let’s just not make it a big deal, yeah? He loves you, and doesn’t want to have to put you over his shoulder and take you home.
Caesar is seemingly the perfect lover. He’s not overly possessive, he respects you, he’s never asked you to go fifty-fifty on a date, and he’s never forgotten an important date. He can be a bit competitive whenever you mention someone else, but that’s something you’re willing to look away from. It’s endearing, isn’t it? How passionate he is? That same passion is what keeps his head on his shoulders, he doesn’t really know what to do with himself if you weren’t here to check his attitude every once in a while. He’s so prissy and afraid of getting dirty, he’s somewhat of a diva at times. All of that is a part of his charm, it makes you fall for him over and over again. It’s too bad that Caesar doesn’t feel the same way. He needs this to be perfect, and loathes how you look at other men when you’re out together. You’re making him look bad, you know that? It’s seriously such a pain to get the blood out of his clothes after his little bouts of insecurity. He sleeps well at night knowing that loser you had the nerve of looking at is dead in an alleyway somewhere, but he sleeps better knowing you’re staring at his perfect face. He has no reason to kiss you with his hamon, but every once in a while… he just needs the security of seeing you obey his every whim.
Noriaki’s small stature often leads his enemies to assume he’s frail. In fact, he won’t put his hands on you until he’s sure that you’ve warmed up to him enough for physical contact. Attempting to get out of Noriaki’s grasp likely leads you to aching wrists and ankles. He isn’t afraid to slap you for speaking to him so harshly. Mind your manners when addressing him, or don’t speak at all. Noriaki is big on etiquette- he likes being addressed properly, and for his home to be relatively neat and orderly. If you make a mess in an act of rebellion, he’s happy to puppet you. You’re not making your boyfriend clean up after you, are you? Until he properly conditions you post kidnapping, Noriaki makes sure all of your needs are met via Hierophant Green. Doesn’t it feel good to give up control, and to let him do it all for you? He thought so. Since you’ve passed Noriaki’s requirements to be involved in his life, he just assumes he’s also up to code. Don’t try to act like he isn’t, either, Noriaki takes great pride in himself. Noriaki will do just about anything to make sure you’re always under his thumb. His grades are perfect, he’ll go to any college you are. Despite his introverted nature, Noriaki has no problem networking. He’s always a step ahead- everyone already knows you’re “dating.” Isn’t that sweet? Say it’s sweet, darling.
Gyro is intelligent. He’s silly, sure, but you can’t fool him. He acts as if he’s only joking. You must hear that stupid nyohoho~ laugh he does in your nightmares. Hooohoo, he’s only playinggg, he’s not seriously going through your bag, relax! He’s just stealing your flask for a little sippy sip. Gyro’s not afraid to get a little handsy- he disguises most of his threats and ‘reminders’ as affection or just playing around. He laughs way too loudly at an unfunny comment and slaps your back with enough force to knock you forward as a little reminder about just how strong he is. If his little subtle hints aren’t working, he’s fine spelling it out for you: you’re meant for him, and you need to stop talking to other people. Gyro’s smile drops when he says it, but it’s right back up when he finishes. “Ooookay, back to what I was saying, do you want somethin’ from the catalog?” Gyro doesn’t really want to hurt his darling, but he’s fine with sabotaging their things. Your horse “had a broken leg,” so he put it down for you. Let’s ride on his! It’ll be sooo much fun, he’ll sing for you, he won’t even say anything if you get a little grabby. Wink wink. Should you be rude to him, his smile drops and he just stares. “What makes you think it’s alright to speak to me like that?” He’ll utter, and put his hand on your shoulder. “Oh, aw! I wasn’t serious. Don’t look so scaaared. Loosen up, sweetheart.” What solidifies Gyro’s spot on this list is the fact that when he’s serious about something, he sees it through. He knows his behavior is criminal, and what little guilt he feels is easily pushed aside- It’s not that he doesn’t have morals, it’s just that he doesn’t get what’s so bad about the way he loves. He’s passionate, he’s not going to water himself down for anyone. If you can’t handle him, you can learn to adapt. If you need to be spoken to with that cold and firm tone he takes with himself, then alright. Gyro would really prefer to keep everything all lovey dovey, but if what you need is a stern voice, he’ll let you see that side of him.
Bruno is a family man, above all. If you reject him, he’ll only focus on you more. ‘You’re pushing me away? Did you have a bad experience with a man? We’ll go at your pace.’ type of logic. Regardless of the type of love, Bruno’s love will always be overbearing and constant. He inserts himself everywhere in your life, the people around you just adore him. He just doesn’t know how to stop, and wouldn’t if he could. It breaks his heart to see someone in need not have someone to latch onto when he’s right there- latch on to him. Bruno is begging to be needed, and when he meets you, he just can’t get enough. Suppose you could have it worse, it’s just a gorgeous man taking care of your every need, but there's no freedom from Bruno. You’ll never gain any privileges, never have any say in long term choices, but not because he doesn’t want you to! You’re just not supposed to be doing those sorts of things now that you have him. Bruno by himself is one thing, but Bruno’s never really alone, is he? He has his entire team, two of which he considers to be his sons. If you’re Bruno’s you’re also a part of the family, and family’s not going to just let you go- especially not when so many of them have such severe abandonment issues. You wouldn't abandon someone who needs you, would you. Bruno takes on a lot of responsibility, something you'll learn to share as husband and spouse. Narancia doesn’t trust you at first, and neither does Pannacotta, but he latches on fairly quickly when Bruno expresses his intentions. Narancia will rat you out. You’re the parent when Bruno isn’t around, why are you acting like you aren’t?? Be serious. There's a lot of guilt in being Bruno's darling, but share your guilt with him! He wants to do everything for you, and give you the 'easy' life he never had.

"Masters of the Air details. Part 6-Bombsight and bombing.
"[...] I was brought in to Masters of the Air to teach actors how to look like they knew what they were doing, and the bombardier work would certainly be important to the series.
"[...] The Norden bombsight was being developed in the 1920’s by Carl Lucas Norden, a Swiss engineer, who worked for the US Navy. He developed this sight (eventually the Mark 15 series for the Navy and the M series for the Army) and the autopilot system that goes along with it. The autopilot was needed as it could fly the aircraft more precisely on the bomb run than the pilot could. Just don’t tell the pilot this!
"The Mk 15 Norden sight was a beautiful hand-built and fit device with an analog computer that would calculate the point in space at which to drop the bombs. The Bombardier would input information to the sight in the form of altitude, air speed and the ballistics of the bomb. On the bomb run he would pick up the target with the crosshairs in the optics and engage a motor drive that would keep the crosshairs synchronized on the target during the approach. On the run he would also make fine adjustments to be sure the crosshair stayed on the target for range and drift. When the sighting angle reached the predetermined dropping angle the sight sent an electrical signal to the intervalometer that would drop the selected bombs at the specified interval.
"The mission order would define what bombs were to be used and what the nose and tail fuses were to be used and their delay settings, if any. The order would also specify the aiming point and the interval to be set in to the intervalometer. This would space the bombs across the ground as desired. Maybe you wanted the bombs dropped quickly, right next to each other, to try and put a hole in the roof of the hardened sub pens. Or maybe you wanted to walk them down a long runway. The intervalometer would be set for your ground speed and how many feet apart you wanted the bombs to hit on the ground.
"If you wanted to drop a string of bombs all down a line, like a runway or a front line, then you would want the center bomb of the stick to hit in the middle so you would adjust the trail plate on the bombsight the right amount to drop the first bomb early and have the center bomb right in the middle. This center bomb spot would be the mean point of impact or MPI.
"When I arrived on set at MoTA they had several nose sections with varying amounts of the bombardier’s equipment and controls. They had one real Norden sight head called the hero sight in the hero fuselage. The hero label was attached to the best props where special or close up filming with lead actors might take place.
"The stabilizer is the lower half of the bombsight and contains the yaw gyro for the autopilot. The bombsight head sits on the stabilizer and pivots to keep pointed at the target.
"The hero sight was sitting on a prop stabilizer, and it needed more accessories and work to look as good as the real sight head. I asked if they had a better stabilizer around and they thought so, but where it was seemed to be uncertain. It was eventually located and cleaned up for mounting in the hero nose. It was still missing some items namely the directional panel and an Automatic Bombing Computer or ABC. The ABC was used on the bomb run so they could perform evasive maneuvers and not have to do the run and drift calculations again. I was told that a Norden Bombsight expert in the UK said that they didn’t use the ABC early in the war, if at all. I had to differ with that opinion as it was most certainly used throughout the early war and almost all the way through. Its use dropped off later in the war if anything.
"The ABC is quite visible on top of the stabilizer so I thought the hero sight should have the ABC not only for authenticity but for eye candy too. I asked my daughter, Sydney, to send out the directional panel and ABC set from our museum’s bombsight back home in California.
"[...] Like with the pilots and their own preference for hand positions on the throttles, the bombardiers were given the options of the two different hand configurations bombardiers often used to adjust the sight on the run. The more uncomfortable two-handed method or the single hand. Which eye to use while looking through the eyepiece was also their own decision as this would have been a preference item as well.
"We also taught them how to look over the sight to pick up the target then transition down to the eye piece and to uncage and adjust the gyro for leveling the optics in case this might be of interest to the directors. We went over the control sequence for the bomb bay doors, bomb select and intervalometer adjustments and the bomb run itself.
"[...] The standard procedure for the bomb run was developed early on by the 8th AF which was to navigate to a point where the bomb run would begin. This was called the Initial Point or IP. From the IP it was either a straight line into the target, or evasive maneuvers along this line to the target.
"At the IP, the bombardier would open the bomb bay doors. This would change the drag and the airspeed accordingly. It was up to the pilot to adjust power to maintaining a specific airspeed and altitude which was critical to accurate bombing. The pilot would also re-trim the aircraft so it would fly hands off at which point he would engage the servos of the autopilot and turn control of the aircraft over to the bombardier. The Bombardier would fly the aircraft through the bombsight and its connection to the autopilot.
"The main bombardier actor, Elliot Warren, portrayed James R. Douglass. Elliot was a quick learn and did a great job. He was a pleasure to work with and I really enjoyed his scenes.
"[...]Props made several Norden sights. Rubber ones and some with more detail. One was set up with squibs to detonate when the sight was shot by the actor with his 45 cal M1911 pistol. They were wired and the squibs went off with the sound of the pistol. It looked pretty good on camera.
"It was AAF policy to try and destroy the bombsight so it would not fall in to enemy hands. Some of the manuals actually discuss what should be done to destroy it. I would hope that the large gyro in the sight head was not spinning at its normal 25,000 RPM when the bullet hit the 2-pound rotor, as I would imagine that it would come apart and potentially send shrapnel back at the guy holding the gun!
"The lighting folks would control the instruments and lights throughout the fuselages, like the bomb bay door open light on the bombardier’s panel. We put in a lag between the bomb door handle operation and the door open light coming on. Not an accurate lag as we obviously will not be filming for the actual 20 seconds or so needed to open the electric bomb bay doors. It was a delight to work with the lighting crew and they did magical work especially with the custom made instrumentation.
"[...] Here is a full-on rant about the Norden so you might want to skip out!
"Keep in mind that this is my own opinion. An American who is discussing the Norden sight. Your mileage may vary.
"Recently there has been, what I call a ‘revisionist historians’ view of the Norden Bombsight. In short, this modern interpretation, pretty much lead by Malcolm Gladwell’s TED Talk on YouTube and his book Bomber Mafia, calls in to question the usefulness of the Norden. Basically, saying it was not effective and some of his followers have even been using the term ‘useless’ recently.
"Just keep a few thoughts of this rant in mind.
"The bomb sighting systems we had going into WWII were based on technology left over from WWI. They were simple sights with wires to sight down. They were meant for aircraft speeds and altitudes from WWI. Now skip ahead to the new bombers flying two to three times as fast and at altitudes up to 30,000 feet instead of 3000 feet.
"An all-new system was needed to solve this new complex bombing problem. Sperry was working on it and Norden, who had left employment at Sperry, started his own effort.
"The Sperry and Norden sights were the leaders of synchronous sights going in to WWII. They both were good sights which were constantly being improved. They had each also developed a highly advanced autopilot that the bombardier used to fly the aircraft on the bomb run.
"These were visual sights, so it was necessary to see the target in order to be effective. Not so easy in Europe all year long. Radar and other methods were coming online to help with all weather bombing but there were many limitations in play.
"Results would certainly vary from target to target, and it was a brand new technology made up of gyros to keep the optics level, a mechanical computer to make the calculations, motors to drive the optics. Lots of parts needed to be able to work at 200 degrees F to 50 below, not to mention the complex autopilot system.
"So, my main question is: If this new technology was so bad then what exactly was it that brought the German war effort to its knees?
"The RAF was going after cities and targets at night and the AAF was trying to hit specific strategic targets like submarine production, aircraft and weapons plants, fuel and machine parts to make the weapons work. The very things the Germans needed to wage war.
"What brought this production essentially to a halt?
"I submit that it was the bombing campaign.
"If it was the bombing campaign, then it was likely the Norden and Sperry sights that made it possible. Mostly the Norden as it was chosen as the primary system and the Sperry S-1 sight was discontinued.
"The invasion of fortress Europe was certainly needed to push the Germans all the way back to Berlin, but I would also submit that these efforts were made easier by the results of the bombing campaign.
"There were certainly mistakes and errors all throughout this campaign as there was a massive learning curve in doing something that had never been accomplished on such a scale before. How to amass hundreds to a thousand plus bombers to rally together to attack a target effectively and then get home. The attrition was unbelievably steep in the early years as so beautifully depicted in Master’s.
"Just how do you get back in that bomber the next day and face near certain death once again like they did. Again, as seen in Master’s. Just a few of the wonderful aspects of this series and the history behind it.
"Having a PR campaign about the weapon that would help win the war, like Harold T. Barth created for Norden, was not such a bad thing. If it rallied the troops and home front to keep up morale, then I think it was a good thing. Just open any wartime magazine and look at the full page ads all throughout. Each ad promoting the companies contribution to winning the war effort. BF Goodrich with their new Rivnut or Seeger Refrigerator building bomb racks and feed chutes for the 50's. It was a nationwide industrial and personal team effort to wage this war against the Axis. Norden was one of them.
"Barth said that the sight could hit a pickle barrel from 20,000 feet. When the press asked if this was true Norden replied ‘sure if you tell me which pickle you want me to hit’. Some folks nowadays are taking this literally and complaining that it really couldn’t hit a specific pickle. No kidding. Say it isn’t so. Those bastards!
"To Mr. Gladwell and his followers, I'll ask again: What was it, in your mind, that allowed all of those bombs to take out the German AND the Japanese war efforts? If it wasn’t Sperry’s S-1 and Norden’s M series bombsights, then just exactly what was it?
"Rant over. Flak vest, with crotch protector, and helmet, on."
#this is easily the longest (due to words) post i've seen from taigh. i'm getting schooled!#masters of the air#hbo war#behind the scenes#history#history isn't enough tho. i feel like i should have an 'engineering' tag bc damn!#long post#elliot warren#james douglass#i added ellipses to skip over more of the 'fluffy' bits related to the acting stuff. and it still remains sooooo long!#i even added a 'keep reading' line break bc of the norden rant...and it's still SOOOOOO LOOOOONG!!#the link is included so anyone can read that if they're so inclined#but i just know some nerds on here wanna read this lol
