Every once in a while, aka often, I think about how toxic people on tiktok are. I guess mainly how different it is to how I remember the internet general vibe being, before the pandemic I'd say. Of course people have always been toxic but. The way bullying and brigading is encouraged and commonplace there really freaks me out! Thinking today about one particular drama I remember, because the person involved just posted after a while, and it got dredged up from my memory. It goes like this.

This artist who randomly got very popular/became a tiktok darling posted a tutorial on how they render. Neat! Some random person literally copies it point blank, literally the same exact drawing. Understandably, to me, the op gets pissed off, because again, this person is literally copying their art piece directly. Basically almost the whole entire "art community" starts piling on OP. "You made a tutorial, what did you expect!?" which then, of course, turns into: "op's art was never really good anyways" "your art is ugly and unoriginal," "oh wow you think your style is unique??" Etc. There even was a trend of everyone copying and making fun of their art style. Basically end up bullying op offline. And forcing them to apologize over and over again. For god forbid, not wanting people to directly copy their art!?!?! And even now, when they're back after a while, there's still comments shitting on them and their art. Even though I don't think they should've had to apologize for what, in my opinion, was valid, it's like even though they did, it still doesn't matter to some people.

From my perspective as an artist, when someone posts a tutorial on rendering or coloring or any other thing. That doesn't give you full license to directly copy their art piece??? They are literally just showing their process, in hopes that someone might learn something from watching it. Sometimes I'll see tutorials, and see that people do some minor, little thing, and I'm like OH *writes down.* Not, oh let me copy their entire drawing, and literally not think for myself. I don't think it's bad necessarily to study someone's art style, right, but at the same time, I feel like it's understandable the op might be a little uncomfortable with it??? Someone posting their exact same drawing, not even minutely different??? I'd probably be extremely put off 😭

But yeah. The way people turned on the OP so quickly was crazy. As I said, now suddenly shitting on their art and style, that had been so praised before. I wish I could come in, as an adult, and be like....guys. I guess I feel like I always remember there being soooooo much drama over people accusing literally everyone of copying art styles. Even just little simple details. But now suddenly it's a sin to say, uh hey, this person copied my art and I'm not comfortable with that??? Idk I feel like people have no boundaries or courtesy or manners online these days. *cue old man Catie shaking fist at cloud* But no yeah, I feel my eye twitching when I think about how people took the tutorial as full license to directly copy that op's art. It would've been one thing if they drew something of their own, in a similar style to OP's, like wow Inspiration! But to directly copy the same drawing point blank? Insane to me. TUTORIALS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A GUIDE, A LITTLE HELPER, NOT SOMETHING YOU DIRECTLY COPY. At least, that's what they are to me! Cause you should at least try and think for yourself!!

Anyways. I am never posting my art on tiktok, that's a hell I never want to voluntarily put myself in.

i think what people need to understand is that no amount of essays assuring me of veilguard's strengths, of which i agree there are plenty, is going to change the fact that the emotional experience veilguard prompted within me (and for many others) while i played it was a deeply negative one. discomfort at best, painful at worst. im talking stomach aches. visceral, somatic creeping disappointment and dread that i tried to fight for hours and hours but eventually had no choice but to accept. i stopped wanting to play entirely around 30 hours. i felt vaguely ill. i felt anxious. i could not sleep for a few days. and im not saying i felt sick because it was so bad, but that i felt sick because of the sinking realization that i was about to be terribly, horribly disappointed after so, so long. you could call me dramatic and im sure someone will. idk what to tell you. my emotions manifest physically long before they become decipherable or understandable to me mentally, especially when they're 10 years in the making. probably an autism symptom. regardless, it was genuinely pretty awful, especially because i had immense good faith for this game. i was so hopeful and optimistic and generally thrilled and literally anyone who followed me before october 31 would know that. the emotional whiplash and crash was intense and devastating, and i was reeling for days. you cannot tell me that this experience was "wrong" or "toxic" due to it's negative nature. it was entirely involuntary and outside of my control, as i would expect many people's joy was. emotional reactions are not beholden to fandom discourse.

any post i have made criticizing the game since is attempt to make sense of the emotional roller-coaster of the past 10 years, this summer, and finally this game's release. i do not come on here and write out my criticisms of veilguard because i want YOU to dislike it too. the nature of my essays are not persuasive. if they do persuade you its just because i am a well-trained essayist. sorry. if they dont, great! that wasnt the point. i have no desire to change anyone's mind on the game, in fact i actually would not wish the disappointment i felt on anyone. the fact that i have a lot of followers who agree with what i say and who spread the thoughts i express across tumblr is literally out of my control. when i write out my long-winded criticisms, it is out of a need to express and externalize that sinking, cold feeling i had while playing, in pursuit of understanding exactly why playing that game felt that way to me. identifying, analyzing and verbalizing is the only way i have been able to process my experience. its confessional and therapeutic more than anything. it helps other people understand their own difficult emotional process with the game. its not an attempt to ruin your fun. my negative experience with veilguard does not invalidate anyone else's positive one.

i see so many posts acting like all criticism is an intentional, targeted hate campaign and i dont understand that assumption. to what ends? what would that achieve? why would i bother with such a thing? maybe that is some people's intention in the deep hater corners of this website, and im blissfully unaware. if it is, fuck them. its certainly the intention of annoying grifters, but i feel the distinction between transphobe grifters and devastated fans is pretty clear, so im not sure why the lines are deliberately blurred as if those groups are remotely similar. some of my criticisms come from a more objective place. the writing comes to mind, and it's a consistent criticism from thousands of players. but just because i consider it to be poorly executed, does not make it unlovable. and when i say that i think its poorly done, i am not saying that you cannot or should not love it, or that you are stupid for loving it. maybe someone out there is saying that!!! but i am not. things do not have to be perfect to be enjoyable. they dont even have to be well executed to be enjoyable. "i think x aspect of veilguard is poorly done for yz reasons" is a completely different sentence than "you should not like x aspect of veilguard for yz reasons". these are not the same statements. i see so many posts that are so vitriolic and acting like two experiences of this game cannot coexist, that one has to win and be objectively right, moralizing them on a false axis of positivity = good and negativity = bad, and acting like the existence of one negates the experience of the other. and why? why would that be true? i literally love so many things that other people think are absolute ass. i also love plenty of things that i myself think are actual ass. i love them anyway. this is allowed and really fun. i am not sure who told you that it is not.

however, i have just as much of a right to express my disappointment as you have to express your excitement. i am genuinely happy for everyone who loves the game, i am glad it resonated, or that you saw yourself in its characters, or that it just scratched your hyperfixation itch. but whatever je ne se quoi it had for you, it did not have for me. i have written out so much criticism about so many aspects of the game, but fundamentally what it comes down to and what i cannot express in words is that while i played after waiting 10 years for that moment, it felt wrong. it wasn't that i had specific expectations for game story that were not met, in fact, it exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways. i mean that in terms of how i felt, something was off. it did not resonate. it did not land. it did not hit the right cord with me. i did not have enough moments of joy to outweigh the feeling of emptiness. i did not walk away from it feeling the way that the previous games made me feel. and ive been trying to figure out exactly why that is for three months now by talking about it with people who feel similarly. i am not sure that i will ever be able to analyze my way into figuring it out. it might just have to simply be that it left me bereft.

and so my posts are not anti-veilguard hater propaganda to make you feel like shit for loving the game. rather, they are me verbally processing exactly why i feel like shit so i can hopefully stop feeling like shit. to assume that people who are trying to process these negative feelings are toxic and intentionally malicious is a projection made in bad faith. i love dragon age, and it is because i love it so much that it disappointed me, and it is because disappointed me that i have to verbally process it on tumblr.com so that i dont go absolutely insane. i tag my posts properly. i do not go into tags where i do not belong. i do not rage-bait. i am participating in post-partum dragon age therapy between me and my followers. if it ends up on your dash, sorry. my therapy is popular i guess. so please for the love of god enjoy the game, freely and enthusiastically. i am happy for you. i will sit here and be jealous that it spoke to something in your soul that it unfortunately did not speak to in mine, and nothing i say can take that away from you. please stop interpreting it as an attempt to.

Notes: reader is GN but post mainly focuses on the canon characters, admin uses any pronouns for nina so if you see the pronouns swapping that's why!, heavy hcs for Zalgo and his part isnt really open for "it gets better and you guys get together" no his part is just... horrifying

JANE

I need you guys to bare with me because this blog has always been hc/au heavy with how I write characters but between all the main crps, Jane is probably the most likely to just.. be a normal person 90% of the time, so the chances of you and her meeting during a normal day is pretty high. She's closed off so you don't even notice that there's feelings developing on her end. If there is a difference it's just her being slightly more affectionate and open to you. She becomes even more protective of you, can you blame her? You've heard of the rumors about her family... She doesn't deny her feelings if you ask her, though, so it's a clean confession when the time comes instead of it just being spilled or forced out.

JEFF

He's so full of himself that he approaches you without thinking anything through because he's so confident that you're going to just fall for him. Makes a lot of jokes with you, some darker than others. Flirts with you up front because once more, he's so confident that you're into him that he doesn't take a moment to consider that you would reject him. Probably takes rejection the worst, at least out of the characters on this list. And that's on being on the run since your mid teen years, he didn't interact with many people because of that. "Oh you dig me" as you slap his arm because he said something dumb.

TICCI TOBY

Very similar to the other proxies, watches you from afar but he decides to interact with you sooner than the other two. He's wary, because he doesn't want to humiliate himself or screw anything up but he's so so so desperate to meet someone new who's in his age range so he's doing his best to appeal to you. Sometimes slips up because he's trying too hard. He can pester you and get on your nerves, but he doesn't mean anything wrong by it... usually.. You outright ask him if he has a crush on you and you can see him internally scrambling for something to say. It's actually a little sweet. Probably the most normal out of them all asides Jane, at least by Creepypasta standards.

NINA

Oh she is so upfront about her feelings for you! Makes you small trinkets and keepsakes with random stuff she finds. Very quick to approach you as well and make a friendship. Very chill if you don't end up returning their feelings, and more than happy to keep up a friendship with you if you want that. A yapper, too, so they have a habit of keeping you by keeping a conversation up and alive longer than others would. Custom kandi for you as well, with your favorite colors and some stuff they know you like! As an aside, Nina is a "cringe fandom enjoyer", so you guys can get into the same things and be cringe and free together! Not related to this post but have it as a bonus!

BLOODY PAINTER

He finds himself drawing you more than he draws his other subjects, and honestly its a little frustrating. You start finding some of his papers laying around. He approaches you so he can try to get even more accurate with his art, having the real thing as a reference is much better than relying off of memories of you wandering around town. Once the initial tenseness dies down, you might be able to get a few words out of him while he's drawing. "Muse of an artist" trope, a lot of the things he makes are dedicated to you in one way or another. His art is the only real tip that there's something going on, because otherwise he's good about swallowing and hiding his emotions.

ZALGO

Bonus character, Zalgo would literally alter the universe if he could to ensure that you're there and his. He can manipulate media, and create creatures.. I mean in my au he's literally the reason half the creepypastas exist... I WAS going to make a joke that he makes a stand in to act for him, but he's so into you that he can't stand the idea of someone else being with you... doesnt matter if he was living vicariously through it. Genuine psychological horror elements here with him warping the world around you in an attempt to get your attention and to get you to come to him. Technical cosmic / otherworldly horror (?) because he's something that transcends just about everything in universe. Simultaneously everywhere at anytime all the time, there is no real way to get away from him. Horrifying stuff.

@kk1smet has been a source of joy and inspiration from the start. my first ever fic (Got Me Started) was inspired by their prompts, and then my first ever fest fic (Mirror, Me) was sparked by their stunning art. THEN they honoured me with my first ever fanart for my fic (To Be Punished). im so blessed to call them a friend!

i can draw a straight line from every single word i've posted on ao3 to the fanworks that inspired them. ive read/seen sooo many wonderful things this year and it's impossible for me to name them all. ive picked out a few below the cut that are directly responsible for lighting a fire in me so strong i had to write that shit down. if you haven't already, please give some of these fanworks a go, they're all top notch.

+ @yiiiiiiiikes25 wrote cruising altitude from the raven cycle fandom and it fucking rocked my world. i am telling you right now, i have never read anything like it. it is an absolute masterclass in craft. every single word is thoughtful and precise. i thought i knew what voice and diction and pov were and how they can be used to tell the story you want to tell but really, i had no idea. yikes has this way of pulling you so deeply into a characters pov that its honestly disorienting to come out of. i fell in love with these random boys from a fandom i'd never read nor cared for, and i keep going back. i don't care if you are drarry monogamous, if you want to experience some of the best this dumb hobby we're all addicted to has to offer, i implore you, go read cruising altitude. go. GO. and then go read the rest of yikes catalogue bc ofc they also do drarry impeccably.

+ @garagepaperback i read this heaven of mud and haven't been the same since. then i read javelin and ive been permanently altered once more. not only is garage directly responsible for exes becoming my all time favourite trope, but the way they explore the deep, long-lasting effects of trauma (in these and all your other fics) is second to none! its incredibly beautiful and impactful and has left such as lasting impression on me. and all that is wrapped up in some of the most poetic and stunning prose ive ever had the pleasure of reading?!?!! get out of here (but also please dont i value our friendship dearly)

+ @mintawasalreadytaken i read All I Want For Kwithmath and then i went on a tear and read most of their Dead Drarry: Do Not Eat series and honestly had the BEST TIME. they write some of the greatest toxic, kinky, fucked up drarry, but somehow make it so i really fucking care about these two idiots, and want the best for them?? minta is so good at hooking you right from the top and then pounding those hooks in deeper and deeper. the end result is that i now cradle toxic drarry in my hands and wont ever let them go (and sometimes I even try writing them)

Your current mentality about creating free of consequence (in terms of harassment and similar things) is more or less proshipping summed up to a T. Proshipping is not inherently nor specifically about 'dark content.' It very much applies to bland, vanilla, typical ships and content also.

A lot of people like to get wrapped up in the 'dark content' side of proshipping, which often taken away from the true meaning behind proshipping. It becomes less about defending creating as a whole and more about a constant vicious cycle of defending specific types of creating and content. Antis in particular like to trap you in that cycle because they hope to wear you down and reinforce that proshipping is 'only' about that content while they try to trip you up with it.

Take your down. Do your own research and exploration. Come to your own conclusions. Nobody can force you into an understanding and nobody can or should force you to use specific labels.

It is so refreshing seeing big pro pjo posters able to criticize Riordan. I am not sure if this is just in my little corner of tumblr and maybe other people can tell me if it is the same for them but as far as I can see, you and lilislegacy are the big pjo posters on here. Is that just my dash? But I feel like mostly everyone in the tumblr fandom knows you guys, though I have known about you for longer. And when the book came out and I saw all the issues I fully expected everyone, especially you guys, throwing your full support behind the book and Riordan. So I cant tell you how happy I am that you are calling him out. The post you made today about not understanding why he is making Percy dumb again is so true! It’s not ok because self deprecation shouldnt be glorified. When he wrote Percy has a powerful hero, nobody was upset about it. Adult readers loved how much he had grown and kid readers looked up to him and found it exciting. In the last PJO book and in all Heroes of Olympus Riordan made Percy strong and heroic in addition to kind and funny, which made people happy. It made kids want to be like that. But now these kids are reading about him being so mean to himself. This is not okay! This should not be the example! Kids should not be reading that it’s ok for your friends and loved ones to treat you like an idiot. Riordan should be continuing to write about Percy growing up and maturing and becoming a good man who is content with who he is, not becoming more immature and more self deprecating and treated worse by his friends.

Sorry, I didnt mean to go off. But I just think its refreshing and brave how you are calling him out, no matter how much you have praised him and his books in the past. This fandom is dangerously loyal to him, and it quickly can become toxic and problematic when no one can criticize the author himself. So thank you for what you are doing. I admire it a lot and I hope you keep it up to some extent because we need it so bad

I hold the series in such high regard, so critiquing it makes me so nervous, especially since my blog is fairly well-known throughout the fandom. I really do love the series and I stand by the fact that there is so much good to come from the recent books, but with that comes some not-so-good. The consistent mockery of Percy's intelligence, the satirical characterization of Percy and Annabeth, and the seeming erasure of certain character and story arcs in the recent books are disappointing, and I enjoy having the space to express my opinion. While I have such love the series, I am open to having respectful discourse about Rick's recent writing choices, and I will engage in more in due time. it's just purely perfomative in the most obnoxiously obtuse way imaginable. like if people really gave a damn about the cop thing theyd talk about it with other characters. like cassandra or cullen or leliana or even the fucking iron bull. it doesnt actually matter that shes the fantasy law enforcement it just makes for a funny joke and easy excuse for not actually bothering with her as a character. i can say fenris is a bootlicker for defending the templars and even going out of his way to sabotage hawke's plans to undermine them and that'd be just as lazy and shallow an analysis as the common discourse surrounding aveline. not only that but be honest none of you (you in a general sense) actually genuinely literally equate the guardsmen to the irl police force LOL be so serious if you did youd be just as vocal and passionate about their role in this narrative as you are about the templars.

it also goes into a more general annoyance i have with this fandom where people will obviously hate a da2 character. will whine and bitch constantly about their flaws and how they dont like them or how they're so problematic and terrible. and then the more they talk about them the more its become increasingly clear that despite this for some insane reason theyve only played the friend route. as if the rivalry routes arent almost entirely an exercise in exploring their toxic behavior and the consequences thereof. as if this isnt The route to get a better insight on their character if you think their behavior is bad. ooughhh i hate aveline she's too rigid and strict she's a class traitor and theres never any point where you can get mad at her for this :( except for you know the entirety of the rivalry dynamic. where the major conflict between her and hawke is how hawke constantly undermines her authority because it comes from an insecure and self-loathing need to maintain control over her surroundings so she never has to experience another ostagar again. people do this with characters like anders and merrill too like theyll complain constantly about how theyre too focused on their goals and they dont listen to anybody else and thatll make them do crazy things. and they will be talking entirely out of the friendship route and will have never even heard of their personal growth and background insight that you can get through rivalries like fuck offfff

idk if i wanted to say this bcs im scared! but! unpopular opinion: its ok to hate lu guang! like ik some people r gonna say that nobody ever said that lg cant be hated, but i saw a person getting pqrt'd bcs they said they were slightly frustrated at lg, or smth like that. and tbh that gave me flashbacks to my previous fandoms that are toxic... i dont want link click to end up like that!!

lu guang is the character that makes us question our morals. which is great. he's our protagonist, but he also does things that are "evil" to save cxs. i remember someone saying he's amoral. i agree. and its ok to support him.

but it's also ok to despise him after a certain answer from a recent interview that . it depends on every person. i have to admit, i also despise him a little.

in a recent interview, the director (i believe) said that changing the timeline caused emma's ending and ltc's appearance to change.

perhaps this is bcs i was thought it this way, but bcs ltc appearance changed, it implies that it affected qian jin, chen bin, liu min, etc to change too. (i was thought event 1 can become the cause to event 4, 5, etc... maybe thats also the butterfly effect? idk!)

now i want to focus on emma's ending. if emma dying is caused by lu guang changing the timeline, its normal to be mad at him! heck, maybe u might even hate him. like i imagine being in emma's parents' shoes. imagine someone one day reveals that a guy who changed the timeline for their lover caused ur daughter to die, i'd be so mad! yes, its unintentional. but as a human, it's normal to get mad at him! how dare u change the point in time where my daughter's fate will change?

also, he should be aware of that drastic consequence. OK ILL STOP NOW.

I have strong opions about Caramel and the fandom so here it is:

In the past 24 hours, I've seen a lot of great posts about this over on Instagram but also here. They are all what I want to say, but much shorter. I lack the abilty to make things short but if I dont voice those thoughts somewhere, even if i just scream them into the void, I might not be able to ever sleep again.

I am a passive part of the fandom (which doesn't mean I do not critize myself too and look for flaws in my behaviour towards the band, I do that. We all should reflect, no matter what). I don't make fanart, I don't write fanfiction, I don't post my edit and so on. The only thing I do is interact with other posts, like, comment, share, maybe share my thoughts with fanpages in their DM's. This is the case for most people and that is 100% okay, just like it is okay to make fanrt, write fiction, post edits. You get the idea.

What is not okay, is overstepping boundaries and clearly going too far under the guise of fandom.

Sleep Token has one single simple rule, a boundary, a wish: Anonimity.

They wish to remain anonymous. They wish for us, the fans, to focus on the music and the messages in it, rather than the identity of the people behind it. This doesn't mean you cannot appreciate those people, be amazed by Vessel's vocals, II's drumming, III's bass and chaos or IV's guitar and screams. This doesn't mean that you are not allowed to love the people on stage. What it does mean, is that, who they are off stage, without the masks, without the lights and the music, is not your concern. It is non of your buisness what they do when all of this is gone. They reveal to us what they want to reveal and we as fans are not entitled to anything more than this. They owe us NOTHING.

When I say nothing I mean, they don't owe us their faces, their identity, their time, hell, they don't owe us music.

This is my next point. Music is art. Art takes time. We as fans are the audience to look at this art and appreciate it, interpret it for ourselves and keep it with us in our hearts. We consume. We as consumers have become greedy. We consume more and more every day, overconsumption is on a rise and we demand and demand and demand. But wait, art takes time. It cannot be made at this demand, it cannot be made for overconsumption.

Listen, I get it, I love their music so much and it holds a very special place in my heart. It means so much to me, that i have managed to make Vessel my rolemodel when it comes to art and it's connection to ones inner self. But, Vessel, the whole band, they don't owe us music. To demand new music because you are impatient, getting upset about it publically online and throwing a toxic tantrum like a toddler who's mom said no to cookis at the supermarket, is not only immature, it is entitled and selfish. If you want new music at such a high rate, go get it somewhere else. Listen to more bands. Support local artists, idk, but don't act like they owe you anything.

Vessel is the artist, who puts a piece of art on a stage because this is his way of voicing what is inside him. Artists don't make art for clout. They make it for themselves. We as the audience are simply lucky enough to witness it.

To harrass not only the band but also a meterologist because music isn't coming out fast enough for you, is absolutely selfish.

These people, these four men, who regularly share their deepest soul on a silver platter with us, are humans. They have feelings, worries, fears. They love and laugh and dance and cry just like you and me and everyone you see every single day. We all bleed the same way. The masks are simply walls of a safe space. Behind them they are supposed to be safe, they are supposed to protect them and to be a shield. And yet, some people who deem themselves to be fans, don't seem to understand basic human decency. To leave. them. alone.

If you struggle to uphold this single little boundary, doxx them, shout their names, stalk them, make the uncomfortable and scared, make them question if this is all worth it, I don't even want to know what other boundaries you puposefully ignore around you in your day to day life. How would you feel?

You would be scared to answer your own front door as well.

I am scared. I am scared that Sleep Token will end. If they did end it, I'd understand. Let's not make them quit faster than they and us too would like.

sort of new to internet wicked fandom tho i’ve been a fan of the musical for a really long time and as a fellow nessa fan (though never one to excuse her actions lol) i wanted to ask like… why is it so universally accepted that nessa enslaved boq in the musical? i know that it’s canon she was restricting the rights of muchkinlanders, and i know that it’s stated he’s there against his will, but like…. he… he very very much could still be on the payroll. like all of those things can be true and he still could be a paid servent of the governor’s mansion. i dont have anything against the take that he’s doing unpaid labor, i think it’s a fair reading, but most of the people i’ve seen talking about it don’t seem to think there’s any possibility he is getting paid. and personally i think there’s a Lot of room for that.

and i know also, that it’s not canon because it’s try-outs dialogue! but! it’s very important to me that in the original version of that scene, nessa calls him her butler (famously a paid position) and says “i arranged for you to work here” implying, again, that this is an arrangement above board in many ways and one that certainly includes compensation for labor.

now. do i think she’s paying him well? absolutely not. but it’s just been like, idk, kind alienating to see a lack of like, allowance for interpreting the text in that way

(it is. also possible. that they are romantically involved in some capacity still, albeit. in a wildly toxic/abusive way—which in this case still wouldn’t be slavery but something Else also bad and equally interesting to explore narratively, but that’s a Whole other can of worms)

hi! glad to see another nessa fan in the wild and welcome to the online fandom! lets see. I do think it is very possible that she is paying him in some way, whether it be money or some other form of payment (like meals and a place to sleep), and i'm not really sure why the small corner of nessa and boq stans has just accepted that she enslaved him. his line of dialogue does state that nessa has enslaved his country and taken away their rights, which could imply that boq himself is also enslaved to nessa, but it could also imply that, even if boq is not a slave, he's not being treated equally.

it's also interesting to think about what has happened to the rest of munchkinland. because in the wicked witch of the east scene we only see the inside of colwen grounds/nessa's room, the only evidence of nessa's dictatorship is boq. i really hope that the movie expands on the wwote scene to maybe show us the conditions and treatment of the munchkinlanders under nessa's rule, because it would give a bigger picture of just how wicked nessa has become. we have no idea how the rest of the munckinlanders are living under her rule, and not really under her father's rule either. it's implied in the book that munchkinland is a poorer farming country, inhabited mostly by groups of lower class farmers in small districts, and the musical has the same sentiment. the exception is the thropps, who, being the governing family, appear to be a higher class, so it would be interesting to know how munchkinland is actually affected.

it's also entirely plausible that boq tried to escape or leave nessa at some point, which could be an explanation for him being paid or not. if nessa hadn't been paying him early in her rule and he tried to escape, perhaps nessa desperately offered to pay him for his work if he stayed. or perhaps the opposite happened, if nessa WAS paying him to begin with, and threatened to cut his wages if he left her. which is very manipulative and sounds exactly like something nessa would do at that point.

nessa and boq's relationship and dynamic is something that really fascinates me, and your ask has actually made me wonder about a lot of other things to do with it.

going to preface this with this is a matter of my own opinion. i know theres trsmp fans here hiiii mutuals so take this with a grain of salt guyssss

i watched since day one and kept up with the server a lot so something that i immediately disliked was the actual system used to level up. i felt it was incredibly boring to watch. this is something i expressed since the first few weeks of the server as someone who was watching it consistently. it really does get boring and never gets better content wise

initially the server was advertised as being fully chill with like a minimal amount of rp, if any at all. this was expressed a lot by cc’s on day one explaining the server to people. and now its completely about rp. which is personally annoying as i was looking forward to a server where cc’s could interact and chill.

the actual rp, again, this is my opinion, is aggravating. i dont find divisions like this in servers to ever play out in a satisfying way and it always ends up with just negative feelings while watching. whether that be becoming annoyed at other teams and so forth. kinda takes away from the whimsy of watching the server when it just causes bad feelings.

now additionally to me just not liking the rp overall the whole idea of the factions event is so beyond bad. i get what tubbo and his team were going for but the weekly tasks and splitting people up just isn’t fun! and i acknowledge that for some people this is very fun! but i dont like it myself and how the factions event basically fueled this rival bit between foolish and bad and led to whatever the rp is now and all the. “sides”

more on the factions event i cannot understand why when the new players joined as red tubbo wouldve wanted all the other factions to work in unison against red. when clearly that is so so unfair towards the red faction, as new players who were completely under prepared compared to players who’ve been playing for a month now, i think the whole factions event is very stupidly planned which ig makes sense considering how fast tubbo cooked up this server. i also dont understand why tubbo would think people would work together when green and yellow were already majorly beefing. it just feels like poor planning and decision making.

now getting more meta i dont like this type of rp and factions event because have you seen the state of the fandom on here? quite literally another qsmpblr purgatory moment where everyone thinks their faction is the correct one and everyone is being passive aggressive and people are getting unnecessarily heated over minecraft again. where is the fun in that? when i started noticing this behavior i sorta stepped away from the trsmp i dont watch it daily or very much anymore. yesterday being the exception where i tuned in to tubbos stream for an hour before leaving again cause rp stuff was happening. i just despise these type of events because it takes a perfectly fine group of individuals and turns them into what i can only compare to toxic sport fans and its not nice to see or nice to read posts that are so rude. i know some people love drama and conflict and discourse in fandom but its personally not my thing.

and also every discourse that comes out of this server is so minuscule but people get so so pissed about it and its like okay please chill. calm down its not that serious. stop interpreting everything in such bad faith.

i didnt like the snails decision. which if u dont know theres admins who play snails who follow players around and can take their levels if they get too op. i was more okay with the idea when it was initially meant to be One snail following whoever had the most levels on the server. despite that being stupid it was funny so i was okay with it but then it became heres a snail for everybody. and oh look you can name them and some have accessories and this ones a butterfly now and etc etc. and i dont like that. history repeating itself and all that shit.

i dont like how the admins seemingly side with certain people and groups on the server.

i dont like how certain people keep getting nerfed and whilst i understand the reasoning it truly sucks any fun out of the server and makes it harder for the cc’s to make content they want to make on the server.

and personally i think maybe some cc’s need to have a sit down chat perhaps and discuss what is okay or not cause sometimes its evident theres a lot of miscommunication and people getting upset etc etc.

so thats my explanation. Now to be clear if roier ever got added i’d most definitely watch the server again. as is the life of a tripoier.

i do think the server has good things like the cc’s themselves especially when theyre just chilling and having a good time without the fuck ass rp.

hehe of course. ive marked "i have many headcanons" bc i guess by drawing them so much i am technically making headcanons, tho the word is pretty vague imo.

grovyle the guy ever. deservedly popular within fandom and people who vaguely remember playing eotd when rhey were 6. probably best character in the entire franchise. what could i even say. i cant believe people dislike him just bc hes well liked and arguably popular for pmd cast standards.

dusknoir, who should be tied with grovyle for my fav character, except he could be slightly more favoured bc i dont think ive ever felt so passionate about characterization until i saw certain popular headcanons for this guy. Still, i adore and have obsessed over every dialogue he has in the game, what else could i say that isnt patently clear in my fanart and ramblings. Def one of my fixations at the moment and top contender for the Best PMD character ranking. who doesn't love a well done twist villain/antagonist who will do whatever it takes to survive and perfectly contrasts our morally grey lizard hero.

celebi, the most girly girl that ever girled just so the writers could add romance. I cant believe she made me have a character arc where i first couldnt stand her and then ended up loving her thanks to cool fanon content and my belief in fighting the toxic misogynistic 2010s fujoshi that lives within all of us. it took a while for her to grow on me but now shes def part of the trio of all time. its a shame shes still vastly underdeveloped compared to the other two, so its a good thing they have each other to become more interesting through their interactions!
