Got sidetracked by binging Ted Lasso, but now I’m really focusing on my Star Wars rewatch. I have yet to watch bad batch s2 so in my lead up to watching that and in anticipation of the Ashoka series in august, I’m rewatching key clone and Ashoka episodes in TCW before rewatching s1 of bad batch and then s2. I’ll rewatch rebels and try to read the Ashoka novel before August. I’m relatively confident I could bang all this out in a couple weeks, but since I’m finishing up my last grad school class and I want to enjoy summer weather, I’ll be doing it more slowly. But I also hope this means I can blog my impressions of each episode with meaningful observations

The cast of Blades of Light and Shadow and their Perfect Match types

Ever since I did my Blades/Elementalists attunement crossover to mark the anniversary of the Blades series, I’ve known I wanted to do something like this to mark the wide release of book three, and I love me some Perfect Match and the types system, so what better way than by incorporating that into a piece?

So the match types you see here are based on what we’ve seen of these characters up to book two, so any character evolution they may undergo in book three is not accounted for. You might also notice that, when deciding each character’s type, I went off of the core four traits instead of the match name or description, unless I needed a tiebreaker.

Finally, MC’s type is pretty subjective, as I’m sure everyone has a different idea of what their MCs are like, so for the sake of this edit set, Raine’s type is based on which traits she displays most in canon.

THAT’S the scholar type #I just thought it was interesting when I noticed that #other fun facts is that the only two ties were with Imtura and MC and that’s when I needed the type tiebreaker #I don’t remember now what exactly Adventurer was tied with for Imtura. maybe Champion for sincerity.#I just know that when I realized I was tied between whatever it was and Adventurer it was obvious to me she should be an Adventurer #I believe MC’s tie may have been with Best Friend for sweetness #but again—between Best Friend and jetsetting Diplomat it was a no-brainer for MC #final fun fact is that I was a bit shocked when Tyril and Valax yielded the same type but as soon as it sank in it felt so obvious #they’re both so driven with their causes to make the world a better place. the fact that they go about it differently doesn’t change that #anyway ramble over shoutout to anyone who got this far

One thing I will say. There’s no way the penthouse shit went down like that. “Hey I’m gonna leave you here with this guy who could easily kill either of us and has every reason, as far as I know, to want you dead. They’re definitely going to revisit that.

#I think it was a decent conclusion to Louis’s story (so far). but Louis’s story isn’t over and we know hes an unreliable narrator #like the bookshelf falling on Daniel so specifically that it didn’t hurt him at all. Armand fully cowed with nothing else to say in his #defense. the shit about Daniel needing to fear Louis more than Armand. revisiting Claudia’s turning how they did…#emphasizing that Armand never has and never will make a vampire? him randomly turning Daniel kind of makes it seem like that was all just #talk and not a truly significant hurdle he would have to overcome #the whole episode dedicated to how the last time Daniel got in between them it was actually a crazy horrible bad time for Daniel but he and #Louis both got their memories rewritten…#I think it’s very likely their fighting all but killed Daniel and THEN he got turned by Armand #either bc Armand loved him or as a last ditch peace offering to Louis or both #and Daniel was either too fucked up to remember it clearly or there was more memory tampering #and I don’t think Armand nonconsensually rewrote Louis memories here either #bc I’m ngl. asking to have bad memories taken out does sound like the kind of behavior Louis would engage in I don’t think Armand was lying #I think they matched each other’s freak in that way #iwtv #iwtv spoilers #the vampire armand #louis de pointe du lac #Daniel molloy

Realised it’s @khoc-week so even though I don’t have the energy to do it daily have this I did a while ago but never posted.

Arxeht my beloved. They came to me in a dream where I was a replica (of multiple people but looked most like Vidar) made by apprentice Nort/Xemnas, who was the fifteenth member of the organisation and also had my knowledge of hit video games Kingdom Hearts and kept getting randomly thrown through space and time.

#khocweek2024 #kh oc #kh ocs #kingdom hearts oc #kingdom hearts original character #Arxeht #blue boi draws #kingdom hearts #kh #Arxeht my beloved I love them #Apprentice Nort started making them to help figure out memories and based them on people he’d get glimpses of in dreams #but he got distracted and only came back and finished them/woke them up around the beginning of Days after Xion #meaning they are theoretically younger then Xion and Roxas but with the way they act and view the others they’re older #they woke up sorta all at once unlike Roxas and Xion. they also have basic knowledge about General Like that the kiddos lack #also their knowledge of how the game plays out is from the perspective of someone who played the games.#like they’d know the ‘press triangle for Sora’ meme and the differences between CoM and ReCoM and refer to time periods by their game name #also VERY AWARE that most kh games are tragedies and desperately trying to change that despite not really having the power to do so #Arxeht is shit at fighting but is saved from getting injured by any time they’re about to get hit it triggers a jump through time/space #and the jumps can be really far and in fast succession. they start a jump in twilight town and are thrown through Daybreak Town #and like two other worlds until they settle and fef a chance to breathe. its handy because they wont die but jumps can happen #in the middle of a conversation or while they’re trying to get somewhere in particular and then suddenly they’re ten years in the past #in a whole different world. it sucks.#can you tell the dream they came from was a stress dream? 90% of what I remember from it was running around trying to get to Xion and Roxas #and keep them safe. the other 10% was the org not knowing what to think of Arx and Xemnas being weird #Arxeht is heart + x in a reflection of Xehanort being no heart + x btw. that did not come from the dream I made it awake #Xemnas was weird he had a very distant vaguely amused view on everything Arxeht was doing I don’t think he ever thought of them as a threat #unlike Xigbar who was concerned which is fair because Arxeht knew he was Luxu and about MoM and stuff #the time jumps can get really long as well but tend to avoid kh era?? days onwards and bbs and before is fair game but they dont actually #meet Sora until kh2.#their main power is information. they know who people are and what’s going on and they are constantly trying to tell people during the

All of which I know jack shit about the stories or spoilers. I’ve started Batman Arkham Asylum and I’m in the middle of Half Life 2 Episode 1. So far I’m having a blast

#i tried using a controller for Batman Arkham Asylum but quickly went fuck it and used my keyboard instead #how do y’all do it??? there’s so many fucking button combinations?!!!#i tried to remember the patterns but it was really diffficult and keyboard simplifies a lot so keyboard it is #and WHY IS THERE SO MANY RIDDLER BULLSHITS TO COLLECT??!!#240?!!!! WHY #so far I have little over 25% of them and it’s going to be a pain in the ASS collecting the stuff I need to go back through levels #i will say the facial expressions for Arkham Asylum are super stiff and the dialogue is very very rough #but visual and gameplay wise this shit aged wonderfully for a game made in 2008 #it’s very neat and fun and I’m having a blast but I really don’t feel the motivation story wise to do what I need to do??? like in Half Life #you got backstory and motivation and everything #with Arkham Asylum you’re just in the Asylum and you now have to stop Joker but it’s not as pressing of an issue #I’m also not used to open world games #like sure you can’t go TOO far but you can explore an entire island?!!! how cool is that?!?!!#I’m so used to railroad shooters that this is so neat I’ve never played an open world game #bones speaks

sometimes i remember traumatic moments in my life and i’m kind of stunned by how detached i am from them now

#those things used to make me feel so sick and cry for hours and hours #i don’t know if i’ve necessarily healed from them #i’m very big on detaching my emotions from things and every therapist has pointed that out #so i talk about them like they’re just. stories #but they just feel so far away? and i am so different than i was in college that i feel like a different person #i think somewhere along the way i started separating my life by these ‘versions’ of myself #so it feels like i’m not the same person as i was when x happened. and the person who experienced y is different.#my last therapist was adamant that my biggest concern was my ptsd #which makes sense. especially now that i have this detachment from my own memories happening #despite everything i have made so much progress #the person i was 5 years ago scares me #the person i was 3 years ago mortifies me #i never want to return to those low points. i had a therapist tell me that the brain remembers the worst it gets and can remember #how to get back to that low point. and that was why i was hospitalized (cut off the episode with medication so i didn’t kill myself)#but that stuck with me because i’m so afraid of reaching that point again. it’s sick that my ex got me into therapy and on meds before #he did all that though :)#rambling to feel better

i hate going “hey i might not be up to hanging out im just not doing well mentally” but also i know if im either constantly panicking or completely out of it while we’re hanging out then it won’t go well

#got into a fight with my mum because she was like ‘well why r u still scared when we’re not seeing massive waves and hospitals aren’t #overrun and this 80 year old family friend has had it three times and is fine every time #and do you look at what people who don’t have the same opinion of you are saying’#my response to this was ��no I do look at the scientific articles that come out though and most of the ones about covid are finding it does #damage to multiple parts of the body’#like. i already have fibromyalgia. we’ve removed the cancerous tumor but i still have iodine radiation and have to hope the cancer cells #they found in my blood vessels didn’t go far enough to spread and if they did that the iodine destroys them #like. is a kid with fibromyalgia not enough. im not doing chemo so it’s fine right just get me sick #does she not fucking remember how it destroyed her husband. she watched it we all fucking watched for weeks as he withered away from this #fucking disease #and then everything we didn’t see we got in twice daily calls from the hospital as they told us how his kidneys failed and they were excited #when he could breathe on his side for two hours instead of just on his stomach and then it killed him #am i the only one in the household who remembers seeing my dad as a barely breathing corpse when we forced him to go to the hospital because #he couldn’t say three words or walk a few steps without panting like he’d just done a sprint #im tired of her making me feel crazy for not wanting this disease im not irrational or insane for this i promise i promise im not #im tired of her coming in 5 minutes after i leave an argument going ‘don’t be angry with me. it’s just that-‘ and then making my only safe #place in this house a part of the argument too #fuck it it’s fine I’m out in a few months anyway #vent tw #sittin g in a corner rn so that the only open space is in front of me and i can pull my legs up to my chest and my fan is on and my windows #are open and im tired of being called crazy and paranoid and irrational #covid tw
