Xavier's godmother was Wednesday's grandmother's best friend. Two badass ladies spent their twenties in Europe swindling the rich and notorious.

I bet if Wednesday went home and mentioned Xavier to grandma, she probably would remember Xavier was her best friend's godson and both of them would start talking about the memories they had with Xavier's godmother.

🚨 Everything we know about Wednesday season 2 (possible spoilers and trigger warnings for violence — don't read this if you don't wanna know anything about season 2. Also, remember that none of this is confirmed yet, everything is from a leaker supposedly working on the set)

1- Xavier left school so his character is completely forgotten

2- Enid is craving affection and attention a lot

3- Enid's scars healed (I'm so sad about that... bye bye our hopes of Wednesday comforting her about it)

4- Enid's hair is a bit shorter, closer to Emma's real haircut. It's still blond. They also talked about giving her a black streak, but they didn't do it. They will possibly add it next season

5- Ajax broke up with Enid because she kept missing their dates and wasn't really involved in their relationship

6- Ajax disappears through the season but is found at the end

7- Enid has a new boyfriend, Maxim (played by Owen Painter)

8- Maxim is predicted to be loved by the fans

9- Maxim is abusive towards Enid (he grabs her a lot and leaves bruises)

10- Wednesday hates Maxim from the start

11- Wednesday is really protective of Enid during this season

12- Enid breaks up with Maxim in episode 4 (I suppose, as it says mid-season) and it doesn't go well (he's really mad and they almost physically fight. Enid uses her claws)

13- After the break up, Maxim becomes very obsessive

14- Wednesday initiates a hug after Enid comes back to the dorm after the break up

15- Enid and Wednesday will investigate together in every episodes except the first one

16- Maxim takes over the Nightshades and kick Bianca out. His father is said to have old views (I guess similar to Crackstone)

26- Enid will have a major fight against around 5 creatures

27- One of Enid's fight is to protect Wednesday (who is immobilised during the scene)

28- Wenclair share another hug at the end of the season

29- Enid and Wednesday are very close friends at the end of the season. Wenclair is not comfirmed yet for season 3 but they said it's still possible

30- Jenna is producer this season, so everything that happens between Wednesday and Enid has gone through her. She and Emma are most likely the ones to decide if Wenclair will happen or no. Considering they both said in an interview that they would be good together, that the whole cast ships them and that so much fans does too, we are on the right track!

All of this is not officially confirmed. A leaker working on the set posted all this on Reddit in June (from what I understood). Recently, bts pics of Camp Jericho has been shared, confirming what the leaker said about it. So all of this is most likely true, but again, nothing comfirmed.

I really hope it is true, because holy shit, the plot is INSANE. I literally told my best friend I needed a camping scene in season 2 and more drama... well, there we are 🤌🏻 All this informations I have shared are from the leaker (the post has been deleted on Reddit but you can find some screenshots on @zstronz78's Twitter account)

It's impressive how people continue insisting in label Tyler as a cold manipulative guy who never cared for Wednesday.

You guys really have to force this narrative! But with me, this is not gonna happen!

We have SCENES where he genuinely smiles alone after talking to her or something like that.

Oh but he said he liked killing... Have you ever watched the show? Have you ever realized he was possessed by the Hyde when he said that? Have you ever realized he was on the verge of crying after the revelation? We don't know the dimension of his corruption or his Hyde, but on the show it's said that the Hyde  becomes the willing instrument of whatever nefarious agenda this new master might propose.

OH let me save you some time, Wednesday was not furious because he killed some people (AND PLEASE, he didn't kill Eugene on purpose because he was Wednesday's friend) or he was the monster. She was furious because she was outsmarted and betrayed by Tyler. The only person she opened her black little heart and he was the one who stomped it. He was the monster under her nose and she underestimated him. That's why he humiliated her with that monologue in the police station. He knew she was very competitive and the only way to hurt her was bringing that fact in to her face. By the way, ABSOLUTE CINEMA! Praises to Hunter.

At the end, Wednesday understood very well what happened during the monologue about how Laurel manipulated and enslaved Tyler. And then we found out he was tortured, drugged, abused, groomed and corrupted in order to unlock the Hyde. So I fail to see him as the real villain.

Oh but he hated Wednesday and wanted to kill her! Excuse-me but Wednesday is not an angel: she almost killed 2 normies tossing piranhas in the pool, she said she would go further in the pranking against Xavier LOL she was about to hammer Tyler's knee if his father didn't interrupt her! And he possibly was ordered to kill any outcast before see her in the woods after Goody healed her.

Did Tyler hate her? You guys make me laugh! He hated her so much he wanted to kiss his nemesis! He hated so much he learned how to prepare that happy birthday coffee in one week! He hated her really bad that he prepared a date he knew she would like. What kind of hate is this? He saved at least 2 times as the monster and the first time was his free decision. He didn't know about her being an important key (!) to laurel´s plan.

I'm not saying here that he didn't manipulate her or lied to her. I know what he did. But he was forced to do those things! Do you really want to believe he wanted to lie for her? They really liked each other's company. It's not difficult to find the hints about how they are comfortable with each other. He loves her personality and she loves he likes her despite her personality! Isn't that obvious? They are not toxic as people keeping saying, but they were envolved in a toxic situation.

I'm really tired of people wishing Tyler's death on Twitter because they believe he is threat for Enid and the Wenclair ship. But let me save you more time because I'm genererous today: it's not gonna happen! Tyler is a main character. He is not gonna die. Wednesday has some sort of connection with him and we will find out what it is on S2. Besides that, the Hydes lore begins now. We have so much to learn and see! Let's wait.

A message to the following…

The previous day was pretty hectic, so I thought I might do some explaining here.

I don't usually get angry, but when I do, its pretty ugly, which I don't like, but I can't help it if I'm provoked by some truly disgusting idiots in this fandom.

Those who know of my account know that I am Wyler fan. A Tyler Galpin fan. Someone who believes he is a tragic villain who should heal and get a redemption arc considering how much he got fucked over in life and unfairly at that too. I don’t like to trash other ships or characters belonging to that same fanbase, but it is my firm belief that some portions of the fans in general, have become really horrible, not only to our favourite character, but to fans of that character as well.

This isn't about shipping wars ok, I don't care who you ship in this show, but when you constantly denigrate a character who our side of the fanbase loves, as well as the fans of that character itself, then I (as well as others) will start biting back, and we will bite back much harder. Stick to promoting your favourite character or ship, rather than put down another character who quite a number of us actually like talking/learning about, and all this drama can be avoided.

For those who don’t know what I am referring to, yesterday, a user on Instagram commented on the latest Wednesday post about Tyler. The admin user responded in a rather negative manner to that user which the account should never have done. As the main social media account for the show, they should be impartial as well as considerate for this diverse fanbase and learn that fans of other characters other than Wednesday and Enid exist too. But that particular comment made in response, has triggered some Wenclair fanatics to go on and bully and harass that Tyler fan for no reason. That user never attacked Wenclair, or Enid in particular. So there was no reason for the following harassment whatsoever. And now they have the audacity to post on their Twitter circles and claim that they are the victims in this situation, which is truly pathetic. But this is not the first time our side of the fanbase has had to deal with these toxic individuals. Fans of the Wyler ship, or Tyler as a character, or those in favour of him getting a redemption arc, are constantly looked down, treated condescendingly, and bullied by some Wenclair fanatics on Instagram, Twitter, and here on Tumblr. And we are not the only side of the fanbase who have copped it badly from these people. Fans of Wavier / Xavier / PHW, and even Ajax / Georgie and the Enid / Ajax ship have been subjugated to such immature behaviour by these fans who attack them, mainly because they see them as threats to Wenclair,

For those angry with me and accusing me of doxxing some accounts on my last post, fine, maybe I took it a bit too far, but I truly feel that it was vital to expose the toxicity of the Wednesday fanbase that no one should have to go through. Plus, it’s not really doxxing if it’s photos of accounts that are mainly pseudonyms and fan centric accounts, and not private details such as real names etc.

where i stand on Wednesday ships in case yalls were curious.

Wenvier/Wavier: Ship it! Tend to prefer fanon over canon (hard to say if its dynamic or plot it’s a bit of both). think that if any ship were gonna happen fr this might be the most realistic. don’t 100% know how I feel about it being canon in that in order for it to happen well a lot has to be done first that hasn’t happened yet. I think it could work because Xavier isn’t at all put off by her demeanor even from the start he loves it. So I think once they work the miscommunication and set clear boundaries they could actually be really cute!

Wyler/Weyler: Ship it! usually canon over fanon. (dynamic not plot) probably will never happen again. Honestly as much as I adore it, I��m not sure I want it to come back. They ran their course kinda. I just need tyler to be redeemed and while I believe that he truly loved wednesday, he really hurt her. and he knows that. if anything they just need to be friends rn. would be okay with it coming back under very specific circumstances. Similar with Wenvier, tyler was never put off by Wednesday. He followed her around like a puppy in awe of her strength and intelligence. And tyler’s truama plays into nicely as well, where he’s never fit anywhere and just needs a companion to be around. And wednesday provides that. He never cared so much about the what as long as he was included. They didn’t have to talk and plans could change. He just needed to be wanted. Wheras wednesday wanted a intelligent companion to offer advice and assistance with out stepping on her toes. Someone who understood her need to be left alone.

Wenclay (wednesday and bianca): ship it! fanon or canon! totally not realistic but I just think they’re super fun. if wednesday was gonna date a girl I’d want it to be bianca (but i love me sone biancaxlucas action too). would love to see it happen someday haha. Can’t even explain this one other than matched wit badass sapphic couple.

Wenclair: Don’t ship it! It’s cute and all just not my thing. I think they’re too good as friends and I don’t wanna jeopardize or change that it any way. I don’t honestly think it would work that well either. I personally think wednesday would need someone similarly macabre or at least similar attitude. However I totally agree that Enid is queer in some fashion.

Enjax/Petroclair: SHIP SO HARD. FANON AND CANON. OMG I LOVE THEM. THEYRE CANON IN THE SHOW IF THEY BREAK UP I WILL SOB MY HEART OUT. THEY ARE SO SPECIAL TO ME!!

-Revamped version of James Green.

-Has been best friends with Ariel Berry since childhood.

-Bisexual disaster and proud!!

-Barista at the Lima Bean and a student at McKinney High.

-Tough guy with a soft heart. Initially, he comes across as aggressive, socially isolated, and simply not given a break in the world.

-Based on Matilda from the Roald Dahl book of the same name.

-Her parents are neglectful, however, her brother Xavier takes care of her and acts as a surrogate parent to her.

-She’s a telekinetic, and also has the power to manipulate written words.

-She also has quite a close familial bond with Miss Thornhill, similar to Matilda from the book’s close bond with Miss Honey… But slightly off 

-Roommate, and eventually the best friend of Bianca.

-Is a huge reader, and is especially a fan of the Percy Jackson books which she gets Wednesday into.

Feyra Sherwood, The Chronicles of Narnia OC, Peter Pevensie ship.

-Is a school teacher in the 60’s/70’s flower power era.

-After losing her mom, she, her twin brother and cousin discover the world of Narnia through a portal in an old storybook when going through their mother’s belongings.

-Discovers that she has stellar manipulation powers while she’s in the fantasy world.

-She and Peter have a slow burn romance, and she eventually proposes to him with a mood ring from her era/world.

August Sherwood, The Chronicles of Narnia OC, Edmund Pevensie ship.

-Is the twin brother of Feyra Sherwood and the cousin of Joan Connelly.

-Works in the National History Museum in the 60’s/70’s era.

-Discovers with Feyra and Joan, in which he finds out he has earth/weather manipulation powers.

-When he and Edmund first met, they were both constantly bickering with each other, and were basically too stubborn to admit their romantic feelings for each other.

Joan Connelly, The Chronicles of Narnia OC, Lucy Pevensie ship.

-Is the cousin of Feyra and August Sherwood, and is like a younger sibling to them.

-Is a college student during the 60’s/70’s era who’s questioning their gender/sexuality.

-When they and the twins discover Narnia, they finds out that’s they’re really skilled at using weapons.

-They get so confused when animals just follow them around for no particular reason.

-They later befriend/adopt an orphan wolf cub, after some hesitation at first, which they name Akela who laters becomes their companion.

Cherry Hearts, Descendants OC, Ben Beast ship.

-Is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, but their relationship with each other is very stained.

-Is in contact with her aunt, Mirana of Marmoreal/The White Queen who she considers more of a mother figure than her own.

-A member of the VKs, she wants desperately to be good and break away from her mother’s reputation, and dedicates herself to being better once the VKs choose good at the coronation.

-Smart and sarcastic by nature but not mean.

-Loves strawberries, red lipstick and graffiti.

Sofía Madrigal, Descendants OC, Evie Grimhilde ship.

-Is the daughter of Mirabel Madrigal.

-Like her mother, Sofía is a very optimistic and enthusiastic girl who loves her family above everything, and would do absolutely anything to make them proud of her.

-Many years after Casita was rebuilt, Alma passed away, and it was revealed to Mirabel that she had the most important role in the Madrigal family all along, as she was always destined to be the next holder of the family’s miracle casa.

-Is very skilled at sewing and playing the accordion.

-The day before she was sent off to auradon, Mirabel gifted her with a hand-sewn butterfly plush. She said that she would always be with her if she kept the butterfly close, so Sofía keeps the plush in her mochila bag, as she is extremely homesick & misses her mamá, familia & casa very much.

-Unlike her mother, Sofía was blessed on her fifth birthday with a magical gift, joining the rest of the Madrigal family. Sofía has the gift of light, meaning she can create, cease & manipulate it, making her the family’s real life miracle candle. However her power is defective due to Mirabel being giftless, so her gift is uncontrollable.

Wanda Darling, Descendants OC, Harry Hook ship.

-Is the daughter of Wendy Darling.

-Enemies-to-lovers trope!! She has the purest of hearts, is kind and sees only inner beauty, which causes some tension between her and Harry when they meet for the first time in the second movie.

-Wanda negates Harry’s narcissism and teaches him humility. (She basically baked him a big, humble pie.)

-Super shy and doesn’t talk a whole lot, but incredibly smart and loving. Has a huge interest in astronomy.

I'm rewatching Wednesday (again) and I just gotta say:

Having Jenna Ortega being so adorably short and Gwendoline Christie being so awesomely tall in so many scenes together was such a great idea? I love it, I love them both, I really hope Weems will be back next season.

I seriously still can't believe how shippeable Weems and Morticia are for some reason lol like, the show literally goes 'yeah they both had feelings for Gomez so Larissa really doesn't like Morticia' and my brain just goes 'ok so they should totally date right? Obviously a poly GomezxMorticiaxLarissa is the only way this goes!' lol

I've been watching reactions and I just love how everyone sees Enid in chapter one and are like, cautiously interested in the oposites dynamic but afraid She's gonna be annoying (we all remember Amanda lol) and then by chapter 2 Enid has already been adopted and must be protected. That's ver power.

Listening to Xavier talk about how psychic powers are influenced by emotions and Wednesday is not great on that front makes me question if maybe that's actually why her visions always became true. Weems says that Morticia's visions were very unreliable but the show again and again shows us that Wednesday's are not. Maybe it's because her emotions are not jnterfering that much (which makes me very curious to see her visions become more vague and unreliable as she opens up in future seasons, it would make for an interesting plot point if she notices she's feeling more probably thanks to and for Enid and having to decide if those feelings are worth losing her impartial visions)

I'm also hoping Thornhill Is back next season because Cristina Ricci, c'mon Netflix you know you want her!

While I'm very into the fandom side of Wenclair (you guys are really awesome), I'm still a firm believer that Wednesday needs to make it up to Enid because Enid was not treated fairly by her until very late in the season. And also, that Wednesday needs to learn how to be a good friend before romance gets involved. If (and I hope when) they go with the Wenclair router, I think a mid/slow burn is necessary.

But I wouldn't complain if they go fastburn I do love me some fastburn lol

I kinda want Pugsley to get into Nevermore next season too. Why isn't he here? ... Well, probably Nevermore would crumble in pieces with both Addams siblings there at the same time tho lol.

Also going back to the Wenclair thing, it's gonna be so funny and weird if the show never references an Addams family curse or Enid knowing greek or any of the things the fandom just collectibly accepted lol that's why I love ship fandoms.

I seriously really liked that plant teacher (It takes me a long time to remember the name ) .. I like people like her AND SHE LITERALLY turned out to be the MAIN BITCH

in the middle, the whole cringe seems to be moving away, and the last episode for me is generally a masterpiece

Like. Seriously, the characters, locations, and backstories of the Addams had SO POTENTIAL. And the terrible presentation ruined everything. All events are moving very quickly, and I can’t even believe that Enid and Wednesday managed to make friends in such a short time. Each episode, although stuffed with an investigation, loads not the viewer, but the characters themselves. Literally every grove, when the Sheriff wanted to take a break from other cases, Wednesday interfered with him.

So… I saw someone say that Wednesday and Xavier were a typical Tim Burton couple because they're both "Socially awkward outcast and kind hearted" And I wondered what that person was up to smoke ?

No because when it comes to being an outcast, you know who else is ? Tyler. Besides, Wednesday has as much trouble fitting in with normal people as it does with pariahs. And Tyler is in exactly the same situation. Especially Tyler. So sorry, but Tyler is a lot more like Wednesday on that outcast-wise.

Also… When is Xavier socially awkward in society during the series ? Because I have no memory of that. I mean, Wednesday is the one who really struggles with this. But whether it's Xavier or Tyler, both handle the basic social aspect much better.

Then, as for having a "good heart", uh… how to say ? They all have it ? And everyone has their problems ? Tyler may hate outcasts and be a Hyde (which isn't a choice, he was born that way), but he's mentally disturbed and first and foremost a victim of abuse. It's not a monster. Just someone misunderstood who has been hurt, who has been fed his anxieties, as well as planting the seed of his hatred for the pariah.

Wednesday is a girl with sociopathic and / or serial killer tendencies, but she cares about the people she has love / affection for and will do anything to protect them.

Xavier is a guy… rather nice and normal but who, sorry, seems quite toxic in terms of romantic relationships.

I also want to say that precisely, Tim Burton tends to create couples between human / monster, or between people unsuited to society, but once again, Tyler corresponds much more to Wednesday on this point. He's an outcast as much to humans as he is to the outcasts in question, just like Wednesday.

You can like whatever ship you want, but just don't deny the fact. Is Xavier an outcast ? Yes. But as much as everyone in the school. It does not give him a particular link with Wednesday on this point. He's not the same type as Wednesday in terms of an outcast, unlike, again, Tyler's character.

At least that's my opinion. I really don't understand the fans of the ship between Wednesday and Xavier. They are nothing special. They are bland and boring to me. However, there are people who compare them to Gomez and Morticia ?! Like, sorry ?! I even have a friend of mine who is convinced that Wednesday will end with Xavier, that the end of season 1 sets this up and that there is no hope with Tyler, simply because he is a Hyde and lied See you Wednesday on that then… That he had no choice ? He had a fucking master ? Sorry, but I don't understand people who love these two together.

As much as possible. Usually I respond to every comment, even if it's just to say a quick Thank You. The only fic on which I haven't done that is Woe of Wrath, if fell into limbo and I have a hard time focusing on it right now. And I feel kind of weird to answer comments after several months of silence, but the more I wait the weirder it gets...

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Doomed is a Dead Dove Do Not Eat fic. The entire text is dark, including the ending.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I will go with Double-Date With Dad. Farewell Xavier Thorpe ends on a really good note too (if you are not a fan of Xavier).

8. Do you get hate on fics?

It never happened. Fingers crossed.

9. Do you write smut? What kind?

I try. I find it difficult for two reasons. First, it's tough to avoid clichés. When you read smut, you end up noticing some general patterns, and I do my best to stay away from those. Second, I'm not a fan of some popular kinks, for instance I can't stand the expression "good girl", and therefore I'm not interested in writing it, even if I keep reading authors that use them. Some people probably think my smut fics are boring, too soft, too ordinary. But I don't care (yeah, I do, but shh).

10. Do you write cross-overs?

No. And I have a really hard time reading cross-overs too. And I hate cross-overs in tv shows. Complete respect to authors, however. It's just not my thing.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I guess I could translate my own fics in French since it's my native language, but for now I don't see any reason to do so.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I did. It was a weird kind of toxic partnership. The other person was responsible for writing the general plot (because my ideas weren't good enough), and I had to turn every page he wrote into a three-pages long section, adding descriptions and filling the blanks. 13. What WIP would you like to finish but doubt you ever will?

I hope I will finish every WIP I currently have, even if they tend to pile up (WIP bunnies...). My biggest challenge is to go back to Woe of Wrath. It is my first fic, it is a multi-chapter one, and I started to write it just to let the steam out after a twenty-years-long writing hiatus, so the outline was not super clear, there are many plot holes I try to fix, the sentences and vocabulary are bad... I know where I want to take the story and how it ends, but it's hard not to want to start over.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

For fanfics I'll say Weyler because it's the only thing I've ever written. Now besides that... For those who read Guy Gavriel Kay, I'm forever bound to the Diarmuid/Sharra ship, followed by Paul/Jaelle. Quite fond of the Clary/Jace ship in The Mortal Instruments (The books! Don't talk to me about the movie or the tv show!)

15. What are your writing strengths?

No damn idea. I've been asking myself the same question since I was thirteen.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably not being able to answer question 15. Imposter syndrome.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

In French it's not a problem, of course. I've done it in Impulsion. I have studied Latin for two years in highschool so I felt comfortable enough to translate a few sentences in Woe of Wrath. For other languages, I would only do so if I can find a beta reader fluent in this specific language to correct the grammar. I cringe everytime I read English fics with badly written French dialogs, it makes me loose the focus on the story (Same for tv shows, by the way. Come on, you have 2 millions $ to produce an episode and you can't find someone to double-check your French sentence?). It's really hard for me not to comment with a correction (AO3 etiquette: do not provide corrections unless the author specifically asked for it). I don't want to inflict that on my readers by butchering their native language.

18. First fandom you wrote for?

Star Wars. It was a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away), when there were only three movies and a few books (Timothy Zahn forever!). And for those who wonder how old I am, I used to write with WordPerfect, DOS version (it was the pre-Windows era). It had a blue background (terrible for the eyes) and some keycodes you had to use to change the font to bold or italics. Since you can't visualize anything in DOS (it's not a wysiwyg), it used colors, so you had to remember what it meant (yellow letters meant italics...). And I used to save those texts on a floppy my mom took to her office to print.

19. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

It's not a popular one, but I really like Monologue for a Hyde. I like the tone. Pretty happy with Fuck Me Once Shame on You, Fuck Me Twice Shame on Me, too.

20. What fic would you want to rewrite one day?

Woe of Wrath without a doubt. With a proper plan, and a lot of plot holes avoided (that damn cellphone...)

Don't you think it's kind of bad for Wenclair that Wednesday left Enid fighting the Hyde and then took an arrow for Xavier? Idk it just seemed like she cared less about Enid.

Ummm Enid was wolfed out and as much as Wednesday is a total badass, she doesn't have any super strength so I'm not really sure what she would do in that situation that would help Enid? She had no weapons on her that we know of and honestly I kind of read it as her believing Enid had it under control. If you think about it she really showed a great amount of belief in Enid by trusting she'd have Tyler covered.

As for the Xavier thing , I mean if I shipped them I would definitely read more into that action so I'm not judging people that saw that as romantic. But my genuine read of it is that she felt she owed him after she had literally had him put in jail for murders he did not commit. Obviously the writers were wanting there to be a real love triangle with Xavier as a legitimate option so there are multiple scenes in the finale that could be read as romantic if you can get past the two actors having no chemistry. Those scenes don't have to be read that way though and I think the lukewarm reception on the entire love triangle means they won't carry any weight in s2.

I would be surprised if even the most die hard Xavier and Wednesday shipper really believed that Wednesday cared less about Enid. Even if you view them as only a friendship that will always stay a friendship, you have to be able to see that Wednesday cares deeply for Enid. It's why they run to each other when everything ends. Even Enid who is dating Ajax has a far less emotional reunion with him.

Why I do not feel like Wednesday and Xavier are really friends?

And before the Xavier fans get ahead of themselves and try to come at me just for being a wyler fan, this has nothing to do with that. This is just an analysis on what I'm watching, so don't come here to shout at me as I know some of you are quite passionate about him and the wavier ship. It won't be tolerated and it will be ignored.

Anyway...

I strongly feel that Wednesday only tolerates him. As much as they are shown together quite a few times throughout the show, there are never any pleasantries shared behind the two. And if there has been, it's really only the scene where the two of them are sat in the infirmary in the very first episode as he reminds her how the two of them know each other. Other than that, their interactions are very much Wednesday not being able to converse with him properly and growing irritated over the fact that he is not only dismissive and closed minded, he's also rather judgemental of her too.

Xavier may claim that he "likes" her, but it only seems like he has this image of Wednesday in his mind and it's very much how he wants her to be. He acts like he knows her, when it's clear that he kind of doesn't? She's not the person she thinks he is.

It seems like Wednesday's only reasoning for interacting with him is to see whether he is the monster/ serial killer or not, she only stalks him and even though she's repulsed by it, she has to ask him to the Rave'N. He finds it amusing as he's under the impression that she is too nervous to ask him, but she's only struggling because

she has no interest in him and she keeps having to make that clear

she is always very reluctant in partaking in these teenage "rites of passage"

Overall, quite a lot of their "conversations" are him either putting her down or just straight up shouting at her. Yes, Wednesday was fixated on the whole monster situation and she did falsely accuse him of murder, but before the whole false accusations, he hadn't been all that much of a "friend" toward her, he just chose to be petty and jealous, holding grudges and "mansplaining" her power to her, so there isn't really any scene where the two of them even act like friends would either.

It seems like he alone is the only reason this whole "love triangle" is a thing.

I honestly want to see if he gets over himself next season, but it probably won't happen.

2023 FFRC - March🍀

Can you believe it's already April!? Crazy. Though you'd never know it here though, because my backyard still looks like Hoth. It's horrific. It's supposed to snow again tomorrow too. I just want to sit in my hammock.😢

Anyway, I hope you've all been doing well. MotherMaple (who just had a birthday btw🥳) recently came down with covid for the second time - so if you know her and love her, if you could please send her positive healing vibes, I would appreciate it (as her bestie who worries - I'm a worrier). Moving along -- our most exciting news this month was that my beautiful and talented daughter and her basketball team won Provincials (essentially our "State" Tournament). Go Spartans! The first time in our High School's history! I've blurred out the faces of the other girls to show you below - but here's a fun piece of trivia: two of the girls (the redhead and the brunette just to the right of my Bethy) were the girls who dressed up with her for Halloween 2017 as Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl - Mr. Aguirre-Sacasa even retweeted their photo back in the day. I'm so glad they're still all friends (though they're all smarter than I am because none of them still watch Rvd)

Okay - so getting back on track - as all of you should know by now, I'm a regular participant (and low-key assistant) at the @fanfic-reading-challenge - additionally, for the last couple of years, I've been tracking all the fic I read and I've reported back here once a month with some stats and some recs, and a little bit of boring stuff about my life. That's what this post is.

Below the cut are my March stats and some fun fic recs. I read nearly 2 million words this month - over 550 chapters (of various lengths), and 178 stories. I've been tackling the challenge tasks and am nearly done the 'extreme' mode. I'm still struggling with a few of the categories, but I think my goal this year is not only to complete the Regular/Hard/Extreme modes - but to complete every task. I'm at 212/309 so there is still some work to do.

An Unkindness by Agmo (Wavier - E 3/3)

Summary: Finding out that he is Wednesday Addams' soulmate goes about as well for Xavier as anything involving Wednesday Addams does.

Why you should read: Soulmates are my jam. This was originally a one-shot and even though my heart kinda ripped out of my chest where they ended it, the author surprised us with two extra chapters - AND IT WAS AMAZING. There is so much growth. Soulmates are my favourite when it's not a given that everything will turn out. Characters are still beings with agency. This story has room for this growth - and I could not recommend it more. Probably one of my favourites of the year so far.

For the Rare and Radiant Maiden by @drollicpixiefanfic (Wavier - E 6/6)

Summary: Xavier Thorpe didn’t exactly expect Wednesday to use the cell phone he purchased for her. It was a ridiculous idea, a whim, a fancy. But something had compelled him to try. So, it was with some shock, two weeks into their break from Nevermore, that Xavier’s phone buzzed on his nightstand. In which, Wednesday discovers her cell phone camera, though only filtered through a black and white lens and Xavier finds himself even more under her spell as a darker side of him begins to seep through his well maintained façade.

Why you should read: I'm always a fan of a good Post S1 fic and if you can give it to me in a Xavier pov then I'm probably going to love you forever. This one was really really fun - deals with Wednesday's stalker - and has a bit of that Dark!Xavier that Ajax mentioned in S1.

Summary: “Wednesday? What are you doing in my art studio?” It’s a stupid question, she decides. “What are you doing in my dream?” A more relevant counter. “Your dream? I thought this was my dream. Wait, are we dreaming?” Or the one where Wednesday finds herself unwittingly sharing dreams with Xavier over break. Fluff ensues.

Why you should read: SHARED DREAMING! And it's SO FLUFFY - it's the epitome of Agnes Gru squishing her fluffy unicorn. I love it.

Summary: It’s the way she texts him first, only a few short days after everyone has cleared out of Nevermore; and really he wasn’t even expecting that. It was meant to be a joke, adding his number and saying he’d settle for a text. But there it is. A new text from Wednesday Addams.  A simple picture of a dark and eerie fatalistic painting torn to shreds. ‘I believe some paintings are improved by the act of destroying them,’ reads the text sent directly after the picture, ‘which you should definitely take note of.’ 

Why you should read: Again - I LOVE post S1 fics where we get to speculate how Wednesday navigates modern technology and communication with Xavier. The stories are short so you can read them all in one go. Do it!

Delulu moment of the day and we're back

OMG! I miss Tyler so much and I decided to share some thoughts about him. Let's assess?

(They put him shirtless for some reason... and somehow it worked! lol)

I was wondering why he didn't trigger her visions before the kiss. Tyler had touched her many times. But it was said her visions are unpredictable and according to Xavier, it was activated by her emotions, but how she doesn't know how to deal with them, they were unreliable and uncertain. It's funny because all of her vision were true. Xavier mansplained her powers for nothing. I guess they wanted to convey that she was aware of her emotions, her feelings and herself, but people misjudged her. The only foreign emotion she didn't know what do with was when she started to be around Enid and Tyler because Enid wants to be her bestie and Tyler was helping her without anything in return. She liked Eugene since their first meeting. Anyway… let's get back to the main point…

But there was ONE moment he triggered her a vision before the kiss: at the Rave'n. After the fake-blood rain, she touched his back and he got the vision of Eugene being attacked. NOW hear me out: AT THIS VERY MOMENT, Tyler was distracted. He was trying to figure out what was going on. Keep this piece of information!

Ok. I know you love this gif of shirtless Tyler but I had some reason to bring it. Stay with me. THIS WAY A HUGE OPPORTUNITY TO TRIGGER HER VISION: she was worried and nervous because she almost got him killed and he was nervous as well lol

Then I tried to remind every person who triggered her a vision: Rowan, the man who called her a freak, Garret Gates's finger lol and Tyler. All those people represented danger to Wednesday.

Then we have the kiss. People can deny how much they want, but, for the first time, she was fully conscious of her feelings and she felt confident about going at the Weathervane and being more than friend with Tyler. Dude, it's not me creating narratives. IT'S THERE! WE HAVE THE SCENES! I got pissed when peoople say she went there forced because she owed him ??? WHAT?? What kind of help did Tyler give to help her to solve the mystery? At that point, he was misleading her investigation! What kind of help is that? 'oh but she went there because Enid pushed her…' Are you telling me that Wednesday Addams walked 25 minutes because someone implied to her to do something out of her zone comfort? OK LMFAO I'm not saying she was in love with him, I'm telling you that she wanted experimenting something new with someone she was comfortable with and someone who SHE TRUSTED. Ok, but it's not the point…. Let's get back to the kiss…

When she steps forward to kiss him and then they break apart, and Tyler looks touched by her move, I implied he was triggered her a vision because he had put his guard off. He was not faking anything or lying, he was just living that moment. He just WANTED to kiss her and he got distracted again - SAME AT THE RAVE'N. FOR ME, they hinted that Tyler had feelings for her. It was a vulnerable moment for him because he was not expecting she returned his feelings. They had feelings for each other at that point and they wanted to be more than friends to another . Is that difficult to understand? That's the context they wanted to convey!

So yes, I believe all the moments he was supposed to trigger her a vision (it kills me he had many opportunities to touch her and nothing happened) before the kiss, it was because he was really hiding his secret counciounly aware and manipulating the environment. That's the part which I think Laurel's order was to hide his secret and to get to know what Wednesday was up to. BUT OF COURSE she realized he was very much involved with Wednesday when she saw them at the RAVEN' and decided to use his feelings in her benefit.

thoughts on wyler?

Before I get into this, I'd like to say that people can ship what they want. This is purely my opinion on the ship based on what we've seen in canon.

Objectively, I don't see it happening.

A few arguments I see people bring up regarding the possibility of the ship happening mostly boil down to:

Wednesday (or the Addams family as a whole) likes murder

The Addams family have also killed people

Tyler actually liked Wednesday

Tyler was manipulated/it was the Hyde

So, lets go over these individually.

Wednesday (or the Addams family as a whole) likes murder

On a surface level that might seem true, however it's always felt like the family as a whole are more interested in the motive behind the murder as opposed to the killing itself.

Tyler didn't really seem to have any motives of his own besides carrying out Thornhill's orders. On his part, the killings were senseless.

Now, while all this is - admittedly - open to interpretation, the Addams family are shown to react very differently when the person being targeted is one of their own. They do not like it when someone in their family is in danger, and Wednesday was very much in danger.

And even if she wasn't one of his targets, Tyler was still killing people to help Thornhill resurrect Crackstone to commit mass genocide against the Outcasts, a group which Wednesday and her family are very much a part of.

I see a few people bring up the relationship between Fester and Debbie from the 90s movies in support of Wyler, but both cases are very different.

For one thing, Fester and Debbie were married. How is this important?

The Addams family are immune to a lot of things that should reasonably kill them and it's impossible for an Addams to kill another Addams (no, I'm not making that up) hence the fact they practice their more macabre hobbies on each other (but no one else). It didn't matter how many times Debbie tried to kill Fester, because at that point she'd never be able to.

Fester was in no real danger. Wednesday dying was a very real possibility.

Also consider how Wednesday reacted when she suspected Xavier was the killer, and then when she found out it was Tyler.

When she thought it was Xavier she was quick to get him arrested, and she didn't really show him much sympathy for - what she assumed to be - his actions.

When she found out it was Tyler, she was quick to capture him and then tried to torture him in an attempt to get him to admit to it. I highly doubt that was done with the same sentiment as the family hobby.

A few people like to reference her "I guess I have a type" line, but considering she was running away from him, the line comes across more sarcastic as opposed to a genuine statement.

The Addams family have also killed people

I'm not going to pretend that they haven't. But pretty much everyone killed by the Addams family was a person who had targeted them first.

I see people bring up the piranha scene at the start of the series in support of this argument, but Wednesday only did it because of what happened to her brother.

Was it an overreaction? Yes, I'm not trying to say that her actions were completely justified. But the fact of the matter is, she wouldn't have done it if her brother hadn't been targeted first.

Tyler actually liked Wednesday

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I can't claim that everything he did was just in the name of manipulating her.

But, regardless of whatever genuine feelings he might have had. It doesn't change that - from Wednesday's perspective - that's what he was doing. As far as she's probably aware, he was just doing it to manipulate her.

Tyler was manipulated/it was the Hyde

I'm not going to deny that he wasn't, but the fact of the matter is, he still killed people. "He was manipulated" is not a get out of jail free card, if this was a real court case, he would still receive some form of punishment for his actions.

Actions which included:

Attacking Eugene (someone who reminds Wednesday of her brother)

Attacking Enid (One of the few people Wednesday has been shown to care about)

Setting up a "date" as a distraction to allow Thornhill to steal the book and also almost resulted in Thing's death (Wednesday's family)

Granted, the "it was the Hyde" argument could be applied to what happened to Eugene. But considering he didn't seem at all remorseful for what he did when he was talking about it in the police station, I doubt it. And considering the fight with Enid happened afterwards (and he was also trying to kill Wednesday before that happened) it doesn't really apply there either.

And the "it was the Hyde" argument definitely can't be applied to what happened to Thing (a reminder that Wednesday actually cried because of this incident).

Wednesday released piranhas on the boys who shoved her brother in a locker. And people really think she'd just forgive Tyler for attacking three people who she cares about, one of which is a member of her family. Unlikely.

Why wenvier works really well as a ship: the season ended with their relationship being uncertain. (read disclaimer at the end)

The entire first season of the show Wednesday and Xavier are constantly pushing and pulling, fighting and then getting along, and then fighting again and then getting along again. finally Wednesday put Xavier in jail and he was like you know what that’s it. I’m fed up of your toxic behavior, a perfectly reasonable thing to say, given the situation he was in.

However, he goes to save her with the arrow anyway, because deep down he still cares, and likely realizes it truly wasn’t personal and she was doing what she believed right/necessary to stop the evil. after all, she did come to him and try to break him out when she realized she was wrong. she tried to right her wrongs. Obviously, he had no obligation to forgive her, which is why he didn’t - right away anyways. He eventually came to understand her perspective, and decided it was worth an ounce of forgiveness. He thought it was at least not letting her die. She obviously cares as well, seeing as she took the arrow for him.

Finally we have their last scene together. He gives her a phone. he wants to in touch with a break and has hopes of rebuilding an ounce relationship. It’s likely that he hopes to be able to fully forgive her in this time. However, there are still likely be some tension between the two when they come back for the next semester.

This is what makes the prospect of them being in a relationship so interesting.

Wednesday and Tyler got along right away. They had their thing and it was fast, and ultimately ruined by Tyler being outed as the Hyde. And as much as I like wyler, it was somewhat rushed and in some ways it was too easy. This ship has potential, but only if Tyler’s character is taken in a very specific direction in season 2. (Wheras wenvier could work with almost any direction Xavier’s character may be taken in.)

Wednesday and Enid also got along immediately. Obviously, they did have their tension between the two of them. It took them a little while to understand each other, and they even have that huge fight in episode six and seven. Ultimately, I believe this relationship works better platonically seeing as everybody needs a best friend and if the two of them started to become romantically involved Wednesday wouldn’t have that best friend to fall back on. while Wednesday and Eugene are friends they’re certainly not besties. It’s much more paternal. Enid and Wednesday have a very special relationship where the dynamic would change and potentially be ruined if it was the time romantic. Wenclair honestly seems forced to me.

this brings us to our third option Wednesday and Xavier. This ship has potential to develop overtime without being forced or rushed. It would come as a result of character development for both Wednesday and Xavier. Something all characters need, a show without active character development has a flat storyline and it’s ultimately boring. Especially when the character lacking in development is the protagonist. It will be really interesting to see just how their relationship develops, from rocky and tense to something stable enough to cal a friendship and perhaps more. They both need to grow as people before either one can consider romance with anyone, and it’d be cool to see them happening to grow together. Now of course their relationship will still have its bad moments, progress isn’t ever linear, and in this situation linear progression is boring anyways. But that’s what I’m looking forward to; just watching it play out.

(P.S. as mentioned above and everywhere else on my blog I am also a huge wyler fan, so please don’t think I’m dissing that ship. This post isn’t about which ship I like overall, but simply which would be more interesting to watch unfold in the future. Where it stands I don’t like canon wenvier, because it’s missing the necessary development discussed in this post. Also, while I personally don’t ship wenclair I’m not dissing it either, it’s a valid ship it’s just not one I agree with.)
