🐝 * ― 𝑬𝑴𝑶𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑨𝑳𝑳𝒀 𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑮𝑬𝑫 𝑺𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬 𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑬𝑹𝑺.

it was quieter than usual between them and that started to become a thing whenever cameron went away for a long road trip. there were a few times when she wanted to go with him and did, but then there were also so many times when it wasn't an option. school and work stopped that from happening because she couldn't be gone for an entire week or longer. so, it was moments like this when neither of them were very talkative. that seemed to be the case even more so recently because things became so real for them, so fast.

"baby," he spoke softly, finally breaking the silence. they'd had something playing on the television at his place, but it felt like neither of them were paying attention to it. the silence was too heavy for either of them and he couldn't wrap his head around it. this wasn't just because he was leaving the next day for a nearly two week trip with the team. this felt like more.

"hey, jess..." his voice was low and he reached out for her. one hand slipped into hers and his other hand reached out to wrap his fingers around her chin. cameron tilted her head, turning her to face him and he saw the tears in her eyes that she tried blinking back. it caused him to inhale a sharp breath before he slowly let it out. "talk to me."

"i can't...–i don't.." her words trailed off and she pulled away from him enough to stand up and walk out onto the back patio of his apartment. cameron didn't wait a second before he pushed himself up and followed along. jessica leaned over the patio railing and cameron walked behind her with arms so quickly wrapped around her to hold her close. he felt the way she inhaled a deep breath and slowly relax against him.

"talk to me, baby. what's going on?" his voice is so soft and gentle and cameron felt her shake against him a little. "i don't know where this is coming from. i'm...i'm sorry. i just..." a moment passed before she spoke again. "you're the best thing that ever happened to me and i'm scare of losing you."

once she finally let the words out, cameron could feel her relaxing a little more. like she needed to let it out to feel better. he swallowed thickly because he hadn't been expecting to hear it, but he knew he felt the same way. a kiss was pressed to the back of her head as he still held her. "you won't lose me," he whispered before turning her around to face him. his hands lifted to brush the tears from beneath her eyes. "we're trying, right? i told you it wouldn't be easy and you knew it wouldn't be, but we're trying."

cameron blinked back his tears and watched her do the same before seeing jessica's head nod. "it's just a couple of weeks and then i'll be right back here. i'll call you every single night. i don't care how tired i am after each game or if we only talk for a few minutes. i will call you." her head nodded before she leaned closer to press a soft kiss to his lips and cameron lingered against her lips for a few seconds.

a moment passed before he pulled back and met her gaze. the look in his eyes mirrored the one looking back at him and he could see the sad smile on her lips. he loved seeing that smile, even if it was sad. he loved those lips and seeing those eyes looking back at him. he loved her. it wasn't something he said yet, but cameron knew he felt it. looking at her, he was sure she felt it right back.

"two weeks, baby." his arms wrapped around her and he felt her hands around the back of his neck, fingers brushing through his curls. "two weeks." he felt another kiss pressed to his lips and cameron smiled against her lips. "i'm sorry. i didn't want our last night before you left to be like this." his head tilted and he inched a step back, one at a time, with his hands reaching out for hers to pull her back inside his apartment. "then it won't be," he spoke and kept moving them along towards his bedroom. he would make sure they had the night they deserved.

#vashwood #vash the stampede #nicholas d wolfwood #trigun #trigun maximum #doing straight up nothing with the bestie. really good activity of doing nothing #i mainly drew this just so i can test how itd be not drawing their faces bc i Love drawing their faces a little too much.#maybe ill throw them in a more intense situation next time i try it bc it just ended up focusing on wolfwood and his silly newspaper #he's reading the news... cruel happenings all around no mans land... have to keep up to know where to go next and where to avoid #but theres also some guy in the same room being distracting as hell. i think they can coexist without bothering each other but theyd #be so painfully aware of the other person... both of them usually have tended to their own space after all for years. ww especially i think #would be easily distracted with vash's presence bc he's spent 2 years thinking about him already (for his mission...)#and thinking about vash is a Little easier than dealing with his personal anguish #though it can definitely overlap too. and sometimes its not that bad. sometimes its just vash's hand feeling unexpectedly nice and gentle #ruporas art

#honkai star rail #hsr blade #gallagher #i based this off of how many times i used funny soda man to help be a healer with his poppin soda pop in SU #and then blade constantly just being blade as usual #its normally him saying unnecessary to my actual healer but #i kept forgetting gallagher heals and i kept healing when i didnt even need to so TECHNICALLY yeah it was unnecessary #but the amount of times blade was the recipient......#i cant use like most of my newer units in story bc i cant ascend or i run out of leveling mats so i just #get them and toss them into simulated universe for funsies cause i can match their levels better #so thats where i tossed gallagher and he is genuinely fun to play as ? like i love his punches and kicks to start the battle #funny soda man is funny (to me) and im really behind in plot still #but last time i tried to play it on my laptop and got a kickass cutscene my laptop lagged and i couldnt even see it RIP to me #so now that its like ... me trying to play it on desktop ?#i mostly get on desktop for comms and if i do much else i feel like im slacking off even if i would take a break anyway #one day i can play more story plot stuff and actually meet the funny guys #also in case you know me for Not Having Boys in HSR i need to point out #i did pull Gallagher however same 10 pull got a 4 star girl copy for someone i never use and she is at e4 now cool #and i didnt even think of the irony as i started this i just like drawing blade and i wanted to draw gallagher #so when i already had the dialogue planned and am drawing i was like OH WAIT haha im funnier than i thought #(no i am not but we can pretend)
