Yeah definitely that’s why I’m always kinda hesitant to say much about snake as a disabled character cuz it’s like. Certainly not as bad as some shit ive seen but it’s mostly because it’s not incorporated into his character hardly at all, it’s only mentioned when plot convenient

Take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt since I wouldn’t say snake was really written to be A Gay Character but regardless the way snake’s gender and overall personality is portrayed is probably one of the best depictions of gay men I’ve ever seen. He’s very pretty, dressed in expensive clothes reminiscent of a prince, with beautiful wavy hair and an air of poise and sophistication. He’s the smartest person in the room and he KNOWS this and he will not hesitate to be a condescending prick. He’s delicate and funny and charming. He has no fear or hesitation about suggesting he and Junpei share a bed or referencing gay sex. All these things tend to make a character the butt of jokes or at the very least regarded as lesser than the other characters but with snake hes the most admired one here. He’s very capable and is in fact so capable he literally needed to be removed temporarily from the situation so that the others could solve the mystery on their own. He’s absolutely fearless, doesn’t care about pissing off Aoi or getting shot multiple times by Ace. He’s fucking strong as hell and is able to survive being shot multiple times and have enough strength to dig his claws into Ace and force them to burn to death together. Everyone loses their shit without him and he’s the key to escape. He’s cool as hell and he fucks severely

Matt knew something had gone wrong when she didnt answer the door. 

She had countless days where she would try and push him away, telling him she wasnt worth any of his efforts. Matt would find his way to her regardless, comforting her even when she felt she didnt deserved it. pain self inflicted or by someone else, it didnt matter, he would show up. Shed have a conversation at least, almost allowing matt to talk himself inside. He was always worried for the day he didnt get an answer. He never wouldve expected it to be tonight. 

Her body had given her a break the day before, not like a walking exhausted machine as she usually described herself. She laughed at his dumb jokes, they cuddled, she even danced. It was the familiar self that matt always knew could never be buried too deep down.

He said goodbye in the early morning, kissing her forehead with reluctancy as he went home to do work with his brothers. She knew hed be gone the whole day, she knew hed be back exactly as he was now, knocking on her front door. The neighbourhood felt deserted, as if buildings could echo her absence, practically yelling through silence that something was wrong. 

He couldnt stop calling. Pacing her front porch, growing aware she probably wasnt home but didnt know where to start searching. 

“Fuck, fuck, fuck.” he repeated, as if it brought some kind of comfort. 

Nothing could. Not until he heard her voice, not until he knew she was at least alive. He walked down the porch steps, horrified scanning the streets hoping shed appear out of the nothing. Everything was dim, the darkness was choking him, every option for his mental scenarios on where she was felt more and more real as if hed already lost her. 

His screen lit up, glowing like her life was shining in his hands; but relief couldnt settle yet.

“y/n?”

“S-stop- callin. ‘m not.. Um.”

“baby where are you? Let me come get you please, i can look after you. Are you on your own? Have you been drinking? Where are you?”

“‘s just me matty.. don’ think i can c-come home”

“Its not safe, i need you to tell me where you are. Please.”

The static froze his pacing, her voice felt even further now that hed lost it again.

“H-hello?”

“g-gotta let me go matty.”

“Thats not happening, baby, im not doing that.”

Her small cries strained at his heart, hed never felt this helpless, hed never let himself this far away from her before. He hadnt lost her yet and he wasnt going to let that happen now.

“you dont needa wait up for me-”

“-I need you. I know youre in pain but i need you okay? Let me take you home.”

“dont-dont. dont needa lie for me”

“Im not lying baby i dont lie. You know that, yeah?

“..yeah i know. Im not-” her voiced cracked at the weight of her own words. “Im not good matt. Im broken. im not good for you- im not even good for me”

“You are good for me i promise you, im happiest with you- i c-cant. i cant be without you.”

His body felt twisted, tension squeezing himself closed as if his heart was about to burst. Her cries tugged at the feeling, but it felt better than the silence. Helping her through the pain hurt less than her absence, and hed never trade her away for it.

“I-i’ll walk home” she sniffed once more.

“Let me come get you please, and dont hang up.”

“I can get home. ‘m gonna walk i-i’ll see you home. at my home.”

“y/n wait i just need you to turn your location-”

“Can do it- let me do it. Wanna walk. Let me say bye matty”

“Youre drunk, its dark, youre not safe. At least let me walk with you.”

personally i always interpreted the golden order greatsword as radagon wanting to keep renalla with him. the fact that its a moonlight greatsword, and how that tidbit isnt confirmed until the end of the item description, almost gives it a kind of "hiding behind the back" kind of vibe, like its a memento radagon shouldnt be holding onto but found a way to take with him anyways. given that in the queens bedchamber melina dialogue, marika refers to him as a leal hound of the order with a tone of disdain, and how he "hadnt yet become her", i personally get the vibe that radagon felt that whatever he had to sacrifice (his family, his wife, his self) for the golden order was worth it, with a kind of resigned determination ala I Wish I Didnt Have To Do This (hence marikas disdain cuz she doesnt think he HAS to, its just convenient for her plans+the schemes of the greater will)

my general impression of radagon is someone who loved renalla deeply and genuinely, and tried to take some small part of their marriage with him in the golden order greatsword, and was willing to make small steps out of line to try and keep that love present (giving renalla the amber egg with a GREAT RUNE INSIDE, one that judging by design wouldve gone to his son miquella since its similar to malenias, using the moonlight greatsword to become the golden order greatsword instead of making a new one), and someone who repeatedly tries to Do Whats Right For The World by sacrificing his own desires, and that makes the fact that all of his decisions led to heartbreak and pain in his loved ones more poignant and impactful. like hey man. you uh. didnt HAVE to drop everything to go be elden lord. didnt HAVE to leave ur family. now you cant ever get that back and its ur own damn fault buddy now ur bicon of a son is getting rly into snakekeeping and blasphemy and graffiti-ing ur Associated Symbols onto everything he feels would piss u off and ur never getting invited to radahns graduation from sellia academy of star murder. you uh. you did that buddy! you shot urself in the foot!

this is so late sorry, but yeah I really like this interpretation. like I said in my prev post I feel like Radagon forging Rennala’s marriage gift into a Golden Order greatsword can be interpreted as a way of carrying a part of her with him, even as he leaves her behind and forges ahead on his way to serve the Golden Order. Radagon has never viewed his time with Rennala with any scorn or regret; in fact, the things Rennala taught him during his time with her were very formative to his identity and beliefs:

“As the husband of Rennala of Caria, the red-haired Radagon studied sorcery, and as the husband of Queen Marika, he studied incantations. Thus did the hero aspire to be complete.”

The forging of Radagon’s greatsword kind of goes with this theme of Radagon cherishing what he had with Rennala, but ultimately deciding to move on to a greater purpose, using what he gained as Rennala’s husband as an integral part of his path forward. Perhaps even, based on the idea that Radagon “aspired to be complete,” he felt like he wasn’t a whole person, that he was missing something? That, though he loved Rennala, he couldn’t give himself fully to her? That he would leave Rennala behind if it meant getting a chance to feel whole?

Anyway, I completely agree that Radagon making the conscious decision to leave Rennala, despite having this love and respect for her, makes for a much more tragic and impactful story than Radagon not having any agency. What he did was shocking, inconceivable, and gravely disrespectful, not just to Rennala, but to all of Caria. And I think it’s almost certain that Radagon’s decision led to resentment amongst his children, sowing the seeds of their future rebellions against his Order… as Miriel says, when telling us Radagon and Rennala’s story, “You would do well to remember... Severing a vow, strongest of bonds, has consequences ever more dire". It’s just good storytelling!!!

G revolution obviously did not give a flying fuck about borg (( now called neo-borg, i mean yes they brought them back but the team was obviously a tool for Kai. Yuriy has a part in the story obv but the other two have nothing.

they barely get any dialogue, characterization, screentime whatever theyre just... there

they were more of a team in the manga but i guess anime wanted to spend all its screentime on kai. so boris and sergei are just cardboard cutouts.

I mean this is very obvious is the G rev debut scene of neo-borg.

so obviously this season dont give a single fuck about these two and back to that eariler picture of them knocked out: wtf happened.

So they get their asses kicked by garland, faint (im guessing , thats literally all i can do), cuts back to Yuriy, episode ends. next episode theyre gone.

Yuriy and garland are in a different location in the next episode. so obviously some time has passed off-screen. so them dissapearing there isnt really a "omg did they forgeeet??😱😱😱😱😱" they couldve been taken to another location

this is where i need to start making shit up.

Yuriy got hospitalized after Garland kicked his ass. But that fight was purposefully dragged out, you could see him literally beating him up in the battle. For sergei and boris, the radiant thunder came quicker. not to mention look at the picture again, their clothes arent torn, no visible injury. i think they simply fainted and woke up not too long after.

and now where the fuck are they...... i mean again g rev doesnt care about these two so obviously it tossed them aside immediately after it had a reason to: they fainted

but where are they in the following episodes? when Yuriy is in the hospital? wouldnt they have visited? i mean i headcannon they did theres nothing in the way of thinking they could have off-screen but the show couldve given us SOMETHING... but no these two are just a tool to them not characters.

this is why i like neo-borg in the manga (i still dont like manga yuriy) because theyre not treated as such

and as for the ending

firstly, this was cut from the english dub. or should i say midglish dub because the english dub SUUUUUUCKS but this being taken out is hilarious. if my native language was english, and i had watched the english dub as a kid, i wouldve 100% assumed they died LOOOOOOL because after they faint you never see them again

anyway for the actual show aka the sub this is there and theyre fine yay everything is happy ivan is there. im surprised they even put this in like wow i thought the writers forgot about these two entirely.

the image of majima saejima and daigo in a room dealing with nicks gay ass is so incredibly funny to me. nick mustve been having the time of his goddamn life i wonder how that entire interaction went also what exactly does he mean by perfect gentlemen. what i would give to see how that entire thing went down (also i like nick but like. who is he. ichiban meets him once and hes funding the business thing but how exactly did the writers just end up going "yea and these very dangerous men with connections and influence all around everywhere ended up being sheltered by a gay philanthropist one of them met once by chance" its pretty funny)

also, yea this... that fight was not good. its kind of unfair to compare it to the hype of the previous one since majima and saejima are majima and saejima but it was so short and under climactic (aside from kiryus entrance since. its kiryu.) like, during the cutscene ichiban admiring the jimas and tendo joining them was really good but then the fight actually started and it was so short and easy idk, them all hyping it up after it was done didnt feel earned

this is also what im talking about, if ichibans party hadnt followed him all the way to omi hq they couldve given us a chance to fight using majima and saejima since, you know, theyre supposed to be teaming up right now. no one from ichibans party did anything of note during the cutscenes, except nanba telling ichiban to not get a boner over majima and saejima, so why is the game so insistent on not letting them out of ichibans side at all?

arakawa mentions how they only won because ichiban brought backup but thats just such a ridiculous thing to imply considering they could barely hold their own against the jimas, and at the end of the fight ichiban literally collapses from exhaustion and is full of bruises meanwhile everyone from the kiryu saga just walked out of the room calmly without even a scratch. watase and daigo didnt even join the fight, they wouldve all been completely fine if ichiban and co. hadnt been there

im slowly learning to turn my brain off and just have fun with the game tho, none of that actually bothers me like how it seems like it does. i missed kiryu.

sorry this took so long i was trying to figure out what to say abt the au and procastinated ahh

essentially jason is an incredibly charistmatic son of jupiter and champion of juno, and the golden boy of new rome. nearpy everyone loves him, not just bc hes basically a prince but bc hes always trying his best to be kind to everyone. he was rescued by juno as a baby and given a home, and so he always strives to give everyone else a home through friends, even the least popular or outcast kids. he was definitely a lot naive, kinda spoiled and clueless, but he also has that golden retriever boy swag + was rlly good at camp politics and public speaking. he loved reading and arts and crafts and other ppl and his adoptive mom and dad (aurora and mitchell) and talking so so so much and generally is having a pretty good time

reyna is not having a good time actually. her lore is a bit more similar to the books. she still has a crazy dad, she still kinda kills him and runs away with hylla, she still goes to circes island, still gets kidnapped by pirates and still parts with her sister. all in one year. all of these massivle traumas lead her to a couple conclusions when she reaches CJ. 1. other people are useless at best and will actively harm/leave u at worst making you vulnerable. 2. when you are weak (physically speaking, as well as having a lesser status) you are vulnerable. 3. being vulnerable is the worst thing ever, as you can be hurt when you are vulnerable. people can leave you and hurt you and make you hurt yourself and so it was better to be totally alone at the top and not caring what you have to do to get there. she is also 11 when she chooses to do this so thats even sadder. unfortunately for her "have no friends and work yourself to death" plan is sort of disrupted by the popular blonde boy who rllyyy wants to be her friend. she really does not want to be his friend, and is convinced that he is somehow making fun of her. she is too busy working on having no socjal skills and being exhausted qll the time and forgetting to eat for days and being mean to everyone and building a reputation as an amazing fighter who you do not want to cross. she sometimes sees jason, and he is always super friendly, but mostly tries to ignore him

this sort of comes a head around 2 years later (both 13) when the current praetors are like "in a year we r stepping down :)". reynas great wish was up for grabs, there was finally a chance. there was only 1 problem. she had no friends and no actually allies, and also was a bad diplomat. to survive in the new rome politcal system you had to be a good fighter, and she was, but you also had to be a good public speaker. luckily jason, who was going to be praetor no matter what (actual nepo baby) was a good public speaker. and jason considers reyna a friend (she stil lactually didnt understand why, but she was going to use this to its full advantage)

fast forward bc this is long, they both become praetors and reyna is giving all the orders and handling all the military stuff and jason is just the prettyboy who does al ltje talking and they were aromatically in best friend love amen.

omg this was so good!! I love how you gave jason reliable parents he deserves it a different timeline atleast LOL. reyna skipping meals is just :( she probably looked super malnourished and that would've been even more difficult bc to be strong you need actual nutrients.

jason being the pretty nepo kid convincing everyone w his talking is SO skejehej I love it. this honestly super sad bc reyna didn't have any extra connections in cj and had to work it all through, and even though it isn't jason's fault he's super connected and people listen to him without doubt.

could you expand more on how you think reyna became praetor? what role does octavian play in this? (if he's in the au) there wouldve been so many debates till reyna FINALLY joined!! also, to make it more ✨tragic✨ hylla and reyna could have some misunderstandings maybe? like the trauma pulling them apart is such a good storyline.

RANDOM TADC DISCUSSION ASK UPON YE!!!!!! i hope it's alright to pop in with this! i have some thoughts on Bubble.

there's something very interesting, i think, about how bubble acts. all things considered, isn't it weird that he's so dirty mouthed? (ironic for, ostensibly, a soap bubble.) bubble does a lot of gross things and, independently of that, makes a lot of inappropriate jokes and innuendoes. this coming from an npc created by a A.I ringleader who tries really hard to make sure everything is family friendly!

caine keeps popping and chastising bubble, and it happens so often we don't actually get too much dialogue from him. bubble steps out of line so far so as to have to be CENSORED! like, straight up bleeped out. one would figure that an npc like him would follow the profanity guidelines (loose as they seem to be) automatically, or at least *care* about them, and therefore not need to be censored, but he does need to be censored! he's literally made to be a character in a game, a MAIN character, at that, and he keeps breaking the rules! what's up with that?

something tells me that i'm maybe not the first person to ever say that there's something weird about bubble, but there's something weird about bubble!!! it's one thing for caine to not even try to reign in other npcs, but why can't he reign in bubble even though he wants to and tries to? and why IS bubble so weird in the first place? much to think about...

i think about this sometimes.... i havent given it TOO much thought but sometimes i am very confused by bubbles whole deal. he lives in caines hat. caine doesnt understand him (or at least, caine implies as much)

ive seen the interpretation that caine and bubble are like. deliberately doing bits. which i REALLY like the idea of but thats not really certain, and even still, why WOULD bubble be so profane??? caine seems adamantly opposed to anything not immediately family-friendly so i cannot fathom why they wouldve done that. even w that interpretation it implies that bubble is STILL sometimes just doing things caine doesnt want him to

in general bubble confuses me. i dont think about him often because i cannot comprehend why hes like that. when caine mentions the new immersive ai in ep 2, its unclear to me just how much more immersive "57% more" is. especially since like. he says hes 'testing out a new ai,' so its ambiguous if hes saying everyone in the adventure is using that new ai or if gummigoo WAS the ai (if so, why would caine only implement the ai thats supposed to be appealing to ONE character in the adventure?). so then it gets confusing how alive npcs in the game are

is the gloink queen alive? is martha mildenhall alive??? were the souls in ep 3 alive, did caine code them to know about queenie???????? how much can they act on their own?? it SEEMS like a lot

were all npcs upgraded with this ai or was it truly just gummigoo? was caine able to give everyone that much complexity off the bat and just didnt until episode 2? is bubble more less or just as complex as the gloink queen in ep 1, before caine was testing out the new ai?

all the ais in the game ALSO generally seem to have knowledge of mature subjects, which is an incredibly bold move on caines part. i mean, we dont know this for sure, but given the joke between gummigoo and chad in ep 4, or whatever it is the gloink queen tells pomni, and all the things bubble says, they just... know about these subjects. why did caine give the npcs in this game that knowledge?

(i mean, it could be a case of caine has ALL that knowledge himself. specifically given to him so he can curb it. but then why would he bother giving the npcs that knowledge? and on that note, its so unclear how much knowledge caine has... he knows intricate details about the inside of a mcdonalds. why does he know that? how much knowledge does he have of everything outside of the circus? id imagine hes out of date... but its still incredibly in-depth conceptually and visually. WHY does he know what a pacifist route is. not that thats a new concept but afaik that term for it has specific contexts for why itd be used)

AND THEN. aside from gummigoo theres like. dr football and that weird background mannequin in ep 3. which like yeah theyre there as jokes but considering caines hesitance to allow npcs to stay in the circus entirely, it implies that caine genuinely cannot control all of them, which is weird. and extends to bubble

in general bubble is like. he READS as important. during the character intro teasers, bubble was one of them. why was BUBBLE important enough to have a whole teaser dedicated to him? AND to appear in two of them???

imo, its important to note like. the first sections of any piece of media- whats said, what characters are present, what information its given. and tadc throws me off so hard, because one of the VERY first things the show establishes is that bubble is.... there. caine is your ringmaster and heres bubble too. is he comic relief or is there a reason hes being presented as important? is he just an extension of caine?

despite this, gooseworx has mentioned that bubble doesnt even interact with anyone but caine throughout the whole show…

^ post that Haunts Me. gooseworx is known to lie sometimes but . i jsut dont understand. what is his deal. he lives in caines hat. is he even important. is he his OWN rogue ai thats just kinda silly. i dont understand him. hes scary

sovi's clothes are new(er) and very sparsely patched because they were both slate's and hornfels' first imprint and they are a little bit protective and doting as a result

on the topic of imprinting: i hc that at around walking/talking age, hatchlings have an imprinting instinct and will get really really attached to one or two adults or significantly older hatchlings that play a caretaker role for them for any amount of time, provided they vibe together well

its really about the vibes and how well they get along. and its not exactly REQUIRED to accept a hatchling's imprint but its pretty taboo to reject it, tho it HAS happened, the person rejecting the hatchling will be judged pretty harshly for it except in extreme cases like if they just lost an imprint to disease or similar situations

you can tell a hatchling imprinted on you because they get obsessed with you and with being around you and won't shut the fuck up for anyone else lol

anyway sovi was a little spoiled bc their adults got carried away teehee. so they got those nice new-ish clothes and good boots and they often got away with things other hatchlings wouldnt like sneaking treats or getting into fights with only a slap on the wrist as punishment so to speak

slate especially was really soft on them because they figured they'd never get an imprint since they dont really have a caretaking demeanor (and they were FINE with that /lie) so when they did a little hatchery volunteering on a day they didnt have much else to do, and suddenly one of the hatchlings started puppy-dog-eyeing them, they were like. baffled.

slate got a bit jealous when sovi imprinted on hornfels too but they (mostly) got over it when they realized they'd been stressing like crazy about little one in the (unsafe for little ones) workshop and now they could have some alone time again

hornfels and slate are surprisingly good co-parents. mostly because hornfels forces communication under threat of bringing gossan into it. but they do well other than the doting lol

sovi is interested in but not Passionate about the Nomai translating work they helped make the translator tool for; they were more in it to build a cool new device with the translating being a nice bonus. they're really proud of it and excited about it!! but its a side interest for them, they're more into astrophysics, maths, machines, etc

but hal is their bestie!! and riebeck is their friend (AND new partner)!! and what are friends for if not enabling each other's passions! and so they are passionate by proxy if not by themself lol

sovi mumbles at machines they're repairing or maintaining like they're beasties they're trying to tame. "shh, shh, just let me tighten this bolt and you'll be like new" very soft and loving hehe

they're very noisy when socializing in general, though they don't really have much to say themself and mostly talk to keep the conversation going unless they really really have an opinion on something

they have a volume issue and have to be reminded to use their inside voice like. constantly

EXCEPT when they're in the hatchery with the new hatchlings... they're very soft and gentle with them like they are with machines but even moreso. but they do toss them around a little (harmlessly) during play if the hatchlings seem to like it lol. tephra especially loves playing with sovi because they both play rough and dont mind scraped knees or bruises much

its a minor miracle that no hatchlings (read: tephra) were imprinting age when sovi was old enough to start volunteering for hatchling duty and that no more were had until they were getting close to leaving. otherwise sovi wouldve given up piloting wholesale to be home for their imprint

im still thinking about sovi's hat from when someone asked the other day.... i think slate was digging around for warm cloth to give to sovi as a scarf or something right as a cold front was starting up and found a few skeins of brightly coloured yarn. slate i dont think knows how to knit, but hornfels made their own sweater, so they brought some nice colours to them and H made the hat, complete with little hearts to remind them theyre loved 🥰 it wouldve been when sovi was an older hatchling, almost a teen but not quite, having outgrown the warm little one clothes and still a little too small for adult sized clothes... and the hat was initally supposed to be a little loose for a layer of warm air but it's fitted now that theyve grown and they refuse to give it up haha

i really wonder how theyre going to address the hat thing in nwos. bc unwound future’s ending would not have hit nearly as hard without hershel taking off the hat, and it feels like with nwos hino is really trying to recreate what made unwound future work

but what interests me about that is luke. hershel took his hat off in front of luke knowing he would see it happen. im sure ideally he wouldve told luke to give him space but at that moment he was in shock and just didnt, and whether he likes it or not luke saw him without the hat, and saw him cry

whether he likes it or not luke saw him at his most vulnerable, and while it’s not hershel’s fault that’s just a huge thing for luke to have to see, and has created emotional tension between them that surely has to eventually be addressed

and i think that creates a huge chance for hino to really give us some Authentic Gourmet 2010 Antique Unwound Future Angst by addressing the ending and the fact that luke saw that all happen.

it’s only been a year since UF, there’s no way this isn’t still haunting hershel, there’s no way he doesn’t feel some degree of guilt for letting luke see him like that, there’s no way that didn’t influence luke’s opinion of hershel as someone who is unshakeable and who depends on no one

but while im confident that WILL happen im curious HOW it will happen. likely due to his age pre-NWOS luke has never really been given a role in the story where his character is altered or developed in a significant way, but he’s old enough now to where it makes more sense for him to be in emotionally demanding situations, and i really hope they use this to do it, because i think it would really work for both luke and hershel’s characters

I mean sure that would be the perfect place to start but there’s no way mingyu would be dumb enough to keep something incriminating there…right? you honestly didn’t even know if you could do it I mean what if there’s nothing and you feel guilty he’d probably feel some type of way about the breach of privacy and the lack of trust but….if there is something there then you know that look in mingyus eyes when he first asked you out would never be there again.

you looked back at her “alright let’s do this”

you guys talked a little bit more but as the sun set you guys decided it was best to wrap up and part your ways.

as you guys walked out and started to walk away from each other you hear her call your name “y/n”

you turn around looking back at her “yeah kae?”

as you walked the way to mingyus dorm it was like the whole atmosphere changed. your headphones were tucked in your ears and it was even like your randomized liked songs even knew your fate. the song heather played throughout your ears. was spotify listening to your whole conversation. the air felt cold and smelled of faint rain. there was nobody around. the street lights were dim and not a single animal could be heard. no squirrels running up trees and no birds chirping.

you were scared not even just scared absolutely petrified. could mingyu do that to you…would mingyu do that to you? since you came a week ago he didn’t even sound the same, talk the same and when he touched you he felt like a stranger. a distant stranger. somebody you loved so much you could scream it out to the whole world yet when you wrapped your arms around him it felt like opposite magnets. and yeah that’s the kicker he didn’t run to you he didn’t even pull you in for a hug… you had to reach out for his cold touch.

you put a pep in your step. you didn’t even text him warning him about your appearance. he gave you a key when you surprised him telling you to just stop by because he’s too busy for a formal meeting right now. he barley looked you in the eyes just plopped a key in your palm and folded your hand over with his gripping it giving a fake smile at most because you seen the way he dropped it when he turned to walk away.

the song shifted to “im not the only one” and you felt a jab in your chest. you would’ve thought you were having a panic attack with the way your body reacted to the song. your body felt hot and you could’ve sworn you felt that sting in your eye as if your body was fighting tears. your heart knew but your mind had hope that mingyu wouldn’t have traded you for a fling.

you inched closer to his dorm hall walking up the pavement pressing your key card against the censor and reaching for the lobby door. you made your way to his hall patting around your eyes making sure you weren’t just numb to the feeling of crying and didn’t miss the drops. you pulled your phone out making sure your face looked fine. you inched closer to his dorm and the door opened and mingyus broad body stepped out facing the opposite way of you holding the door open as a girl stepped out smiling up at him.

you stopped in your tracks. it was like your heart paused for a second and then it rushed to start up again. your hands shaking and your breathing increasing.

“so I’ll see you tomorrow night right?” his voice rang out

she reached for his hand that wasn’t on the door squeezing it “yeah of course see you then gyu” she said walking away

she passed you. and by the time mingyu turned around going to say one last thing to her his eyes landed on you.

those eyes. those fucking eyes. the most emotion you had seen in days. being that of guilt? of anger? of sadness? you couldn’t even tell anymore.

gyu? it felt like a punch to the gut.. the nickname his friends and you called him now spoken by a girl who got the look you craved.

that wasn’t mingyu, that wasn’t your mingyu, that wasn’t your high school sweetheart, that wasn’t the boy who asked your dad before taking you to prom, that wasn’t the boy who asked you to his girlfriend during a big fourth of july fireworks show where you guys were away from everyone and when the first boom rang out and the sky lit up and you turned around to look at him with a big smile plastered on your face did you see him looking at you with a promise ring in his hand…yeah that wasn’t your mingyu standing there like a deer caught in his headlights.

you dropped your bag more so your body went limp and it was like your shoulder couldn’t even hold the weight of a few books anymore. your hands trembled grasping your face covering your mouth as the tears welled up at your waterline.

time felt like it paused the moment he turned around but it was just a couple seconds. the sound of your bag hitting the floor brought you out of it.

“y/n-“ he moved into the hallway his dorm door shutting behind him he slowly inched forward his hand reaching out

you stepped back as you repeated “oh my god..oh my god…oh my god” the words got more incoherent. your throat stung. It felt like you could barley speak and if you did you were gonna burst at the brim. your vision was fogged.

gosh as heartbroken as you were in that moment you weren’t fucking pathetic. you had to stand up for yourself. your body felt weak and your eyes and throat stung but he didn’t deserve to see you like this.

“y/n stop it wasn’t like that, she wasn’t here for whatever you’re thinking” he stepped forward grasping for your hand

you pushed his hand away stepping back grabbing your bag off the ground. it felt like your fingers were gonna snap from the pressure of your bag. he really made you that weak. or maybe you felt so sick from everything that’s going on. your body couldn’t even stand it.

“no gyu-“ saying the nickname you always called him didnt even feel like it was yours to call “no mingyu you don’t get to tell me to stop and you don’t get to try and correct me for what I just saw”

“whyre you assuming that i would even do that” he raised his voice his head leaning closer to yours “why would I do that to you???!!”

you turned your head away “oh please cut the fucking act you’ve been acting different since I got here, you aren’t a fucking saint mingyu” you pushed him away

he scoffed “what are you even referring to, I’ve been the same since we’ve been together nothings changed and I didn’t do shit to you” and in the matter of seconds his tone changed “you have to listen to me love” he reached out for your face

the sound of footsteps walking up echoed throughout the halls. you turned back seeing two people walking down the hall your way.

you turned back looking at him swinging your bag back over your shoulder “we’re done here I don’t even know you anymore mingyu”

you stepped back walking away avoiding eye contact with the people walking in. you didn’t even turn back to look at him. and he didn’t go for you. you had no words for what you witnessed. you held in the tears as your eyes stung and your throat ached even worse.

you reached the lobby doors the doors clicking as you pressed against them and the tears flowed. you’d never felt the pain you had felt right now. your whole body was shaking as you walked letting the door shut and your relationship with mingyu ending.

the sky lit up with thunder at the click of the door and the droplets started hitting the concrete. and you could’ve cared less. the sound of the rain and the thunder canceled out your sobs. your hands clawed at your face as the tears kept flowing. you just stood there with the rain engulfing you and your tears mixing with it. you couldn’t even physically step forward. you couldn’t even make out a normal breath.

you wobbled to the closest bench by the doors and you just sat there the tears couldn’t even make it out of your eyes. was it physically possible to feel like crying and not be able to? you just felt like you were in shock and all you could vision was his face when he turned around. the pain kept hitting you as you replayed the image over and over.

“y/n?”

you heard that deep calming voice and you already knew. you looked up seeing the exact face you thought belonged to that voice. the black hair, the glasses, the soft smile.

he rushed over his umbrella covering over you “what’re you doing out here like this?? you’re gonna get sick come on come inside”

“why not? you dont have an umbrella and you’ll be walking you shouldn’t go now” he reached for your hand “just come with me”

your body betrayed you and let him grab your hand helping you up, you should go you shouldn’t go inside with him. you can’t go back in there. your mind was spinning.

“y/n? come on” he had walked you over as he keyed in and held the door open

you walked in with him and he shook out his umbrella and held your stuff in one hand

“wonwoo i cant go with you i have to leave”

“it’s storming I can’t let you go out there like this” he looked at your state of soaking wet clothes

you could see the realization in his face that he found out that you were out there like that because of him “don’t worry me and him aren’t even dorm mates anymore” he smiled softly

“i still shouldn’t wonwoo” you reached for your bag

he backed away “no I’ll let you leave once the weather clears i promise”

how could you not trust the warmth in that voice when everything else felt so cold. the weather was cold, mingyus touch on your hands just minutes prior was cold, his voice was cold even to your face after that. but even with that warmth you couldn’t trust him after what mingyu just did. he probably knew, they probably all knew.

he could see the look in your face go from convinced to right back how it was

he reached for your hand clenching it “you can trust me, im roomed with dk but he’s busy off with soonyoung just come till the weather clears and we will get you home”

your body let him pull you to his dorm where he pulled you in setting everything down and offering you clothes to get out of the drenched ones. there you were sat on his couch as you waited for him to change. your head was everywhere. you just caught mingyu with another girl, you tried to be strong and storm out and your feelings got the best of you now you’re here being helped by his best friend. god you were so pathetic.

actually the hospital wing joke is starting to bother me a lot more because buck actually fucking died 😭and he didnt even change clothes from being at the hospital all day why would you say that to someone. ik it was a fakeout but bobby looked like he was fr coding on the table. and like just a couple weeks before chimney almost died?? like im sorry i only accept those kinda jokes from people who have known me for years and even then they can be a little upsetting.

Yes totally get that like I’m the same like me and my best friend will be saying downright horrendous trauma jokes to eachother that make people around us clutch their pearls but I feel like it takes a certain level of rapport to get to trauma joke level - ig not everyone is the same when it comes to that but I think that again the writers absolutely failed to give us enough bucktommy scenes that justify having this kinda line
