yknow, sometimes i think about the 'whos gonna abstract next' 'you wouldnt believe me if i told you' thing bc i and others took that to likely mean 'the person whod abstract next is unexpected' but honestly that could very well be a misunderstanding of her words. it could just as easily simply mean that if she said a name in response to that question that it wouldnt matter what name she says, given her reputation of sometimes lying for fun (reasonable) no one would ever believe the answer. all of this to say that sometimes i think about that and it makes me a little fearful because it removes the 'unexpected' aspect of who will abstract (because it will happen, narratively it makes sense that its going to happen) and means characters like ragatha or gangle are more 'at risk' (for lack of a better term) because the obvious nature of their abstraction stops being a shield

also like its prob been said, i havent looked at basically any posts for the new ep buuuuit. imo jax prob knew ribbit pre-circus. i mean maybe its just me but just look at their designs! colorful bipedal animals with an animated cartoon sort of feel to their facial expressions, implied to be friends. the way i see it, kinger and queenie are so visually similar not by chance and not just cus of their minds- i think it has to do with them getting there at the same time, being older residents of the circus. by that logic (which, its my own logic, and may be proved false) jax and ribbit prob knew each other before all of this. they probably got to the circus together

okayyyy uhhh ive been meaning to make this sorta post for a while (like yrs) since ive been considering this for a while but i do genuinely wanna gauge this since setup for these things is wonky and has been irritating historically and i want to gauge if itd be worth all that, so:

(and as an aside, if i opened them i might do profile picture commissions first just since those are smaller and could help me ease into it? but im unsure if theres any specific things ppl would want to comm me for, like icons, art, references, concept art, comics, etc. any feedback is appreciated!!!)

ok ya i just said smth similar on my main but its gonna be a minute. watched a show qnd have been invested in it and its not replacing this show for me by any means but im taking some time to just enjoy it, and am not rly posting abt it cus im mainly just wanting to enjoy that on my own, and i dont focus on multiple shows at once very well. that said ill be back eventually sometime soon, if going back to the lab doesnt interfere too much 👍 ill be easier to contact thru dms

also i think posts r gonna be scarce for a minute here, wanna answer those asks and work on wips BUT i think most of what i can do rn is less complex or more condensed discussion n stuff, and i think i Generally need to let my brain recoup instead of trying to physically force myself to think and write and draw more indepth things. WILL eventually get to them but gonna keep things mellow for a few days and see if that helps any!!!

i made the joke in like my 3rd ever post on this blog so im not rbing it bc of Older Art reasons, but i still think its soooo fucked up that queenie wasnt around to use inaturalist... she wouldve loved it she wouldve had a username referring to a highly specific species of skippers and wouldve spent way too much of her free time id'ing bugs. she wouldve uploaded as many images of insects she possibly could have all often with correctly identified families at LEAST immediately. kinger wouldve had his own account too but it just wouldve been named [his first name]1972 and bunches of pictures of bugs he finds that sometimes get to research grade but often linger a little before that. he would dabble in id'ing others' observations but wouldnt get as into it as queenie does
