Just wanted to say: Thank you for all the replies and suggestions!! For the songs I don't know (the ones from the plvspw crossover) I'll probably end up listening to them. However, I was like "wait! what is this unreleased azran legacy song???" so I looked it up. I didn't know it was just The Last Golem. BUT I then found something COOL? LIKE REALLY COOL and I want to share it!!

This is by a channel called DearestHershel and like these remixes BLEW ME AWAY (guys i cried so hard). Like I. I want to make so many analyses on them its not even funny (it kind of is). The many things in his MM remix is just... It broke my heart so badly. 100 times over. The LBMR one too. (AND there's a cast of voice actors who voiced over key lines!!! THATS SO COOL)

Currently, there's remixes for Curious Village, Diabolical Box / Pandora's Box, Unwound Future / Lost Future, Last Spectre / Spectre's Call, Miracle Mask, Azran Legacy, and Layton Brothers' Mystery Room.

I headcanon Clive as a trans man because while i know in canon you see him as a kid, just imagine how hard it would have been to track him with the police files if he transitioned (and would also show he didn't have to worry about Layton going through the files)

And i mean !! Imagining Layton go "no way the little girl i comforted whose parents died was you" because!!!! He's a luke copy!!

That and also the vibes i get from him, he just has that internal rage i have seen way too many trans friends have haha /jj

I’m sure many others have pointed this out before, and this is certainly not the first time I ramble about it, BUT:

Notice how Clive’s parents look like Hershel and Claire.

Notice how they disappear to the right of the screen, which is symbolically associated with the future, while Layclaire exits stage left, remaining in the past.

Clive represents the child they could have had. Hence why he’s so smart he can rival our protagonist in a battle of wits. Hence why he’s saved by both Hershel and Claire at different points in his story. Hence why the mobile fortress is defeated by a simple pocket watch, the ultimate symbol of their love. Hence why he’s close to the Professor on the box, where Luke would typically be:

It’s him! Clive is their Lost Future.

Alright now i've finished Azran Legacy, so i feel like i can finally make a side blog for Layton stuff so i can post about it without feeling like im bothering people on my main one lmao Just gonna dump all my recent art here (warning for spoilers for Unwound Future and Miracle Mask sort of)

And then this Clive i drew after having watched someone play through Unwound Future and realizing Clive is so much worse of a person than what i remembered from playing it when i was younger lmao + old art of him i made from around 5 or 6 years ago, you can probably still find it on the Layton amino somewhere lol

I'm glad i finally played through the prequel trilogy, because for some reason i just never got around to that back when i was really into the series, AND despite having owned a copy of Miracle Mask for like 3 years since i found it at a con for very cheap
