#1 Starlo's name is uncool on purpose might literally mean 'Starloser' It fits his character arc. In other words, he's not the cool, badass sheriff he pretends to be (he's not 'North Star'), but a kind, friendly farmer inside

Why else would he keep saying he's proud of them, praise them, believe in them, get worried about their safety, send them a warning letter, immediately run to check what's going on with them, get angry at Clover for not staying HOME (yeah he really did consider the Wild East their home) tell Martlet to bring Clover to safety, and jump at Ceroba to try and protect them? don't question the love of star daddy

#3 Undyne actually IS a badass. Starlo isn't. He's a softie who cares about pretending to be cool bc he's insecure, even when in a situation where he could die. He wants to be a hero. He wants to be SOMEBODY, not a NOBODY. Maybe he also cared about his own status more than his town, friends and family (which could be the reason he brought a bb gun). Or he just wanted to buy time so the others could hide. Now that I think about it, it's the latter. Why else would Dina say this in genocide after you kill Ceroba: "He was more of a hero than you'll ever be." That's the whole point of his geno fight that, and a lil bit of angst when roba finds him dying IT'S CALLED CHARACTERIZATION

#4 He kidnaps Clover bc they're a human. The only human who's ever set foot on the sands of the Wild East. He's obsessed with human culture. His whole life ARE westerns. Why? Whether it's the sense of justice cowboys represent, the exciting lives they live, or both, Starlo feels like he matters thanks to this nerdy interest, like he can contribute to his community

#5 i see Martlet as a big sis not a mom bc of how young she is, despite that one joke in bits & bites, but to each their own Star jails Martlet bc of the potential of the Wild East getting shut down. She did threaten to report them to Asgore and well... according to him, better safe than sorry. He even admitted he doesn't feel right doing it

#6 It WAS wrong of him to blame and attack Clover like that, all for his own status and ego (and to get his friends back) It's called a flawed character making a fucking mistake. Or did you expect someone perfect, with no room to grow and develop throughout the piece of media? Also, Clover is not an infant, they're a child. If it was meant to be a joke, it ain't funny bucko

#7 he either actually forgot about the fact he himself kidnapped Clover bc he wasn't in the right mindset (understandable), or purposefully ignored the information to avoid responsibility for his actions & shift the blame onto Clover (he IS flawed and thats more than ok)

and two, its blatantly wrong. like, we’ve told 0 people irl about being a system, we’ve only told like, 3 online friends, and we never talk about system stuff with them still cuz we’re scared of loosing those friends for being too weird. we pretty much never post about it on our blog an besides the blog description no one wud probably ever know. the one time someone guessed we’re a system in a discord servr i had a full anxiety attack an avoided any interaction for 2 weeks even tho they were accepting, an then when we finaly went back to talking there i made sure we had any trace of system stuff wiped from the servr profile an deleted the messages that made them ask and only just showed that all again after 2 months of keeping everything hidden. we’re terrified of people we know knowing we’re a system or getting attention cuz of tgat.

tho we’re definitly on the extreme end for that (mostly me tbh… the social isolation and abandonment issues exo-memories and the body’s trauma from similar irl stuff deff made me super scared about this) but its a pretty similar experience for a lot of systems from wut ive seen where telling ppl is pretty much an act of compleat trust an usualy very anxiety inducing.

But as you mention, it's not even the best way to get negative attention when there are so many actual troll-y things you can do.

You can find hundreds of communities online with people who will support you and give you attention for your takes on various topics! Or you can find hundreds more who will hate you if you push the right buttons!

Day 13

Today was nice, lots of activities, but not in an overwhelming way. The trip the the Ao Dai museum was a nice treat, the exhibition was eh, but the grounds were so pretty. I think I was one of the only guests there not doing a photoshoot. Super beautiful place. The bus driver didnt let me off at my stop, so I got an extra long stroll through the more rural roads. 

I like that a lot of the busses here have some type of religious figure and flowers in the front. Often varying religions, like ive seen some virgin mary statues as well— I guess whatever the driver fucks with?? 

Since I havnt really seen much art while ive been here, I really latched on to some sculptures at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum. But the zoo stole the show. It was a pretty sad zoo, like a mid western zoo mostly cement, but whatever all zoos are bad. Ive been wanting to go because I see the giraffes and elephants from the shared roof top patio where im staying.

Best part must have been watching this guy show the chimpanzees things on his phone, and then feeding them chips through a crack in the wall. They’re rly our family !!!

Taking the bus home from the Ao Dai museum, I spotted a nearby bridge, only a few blocks away from my apartment, with a great view. I walked there to catch the golden hour sunset vibes before the tech mixer.

I had no place at the tech mixer, like I just derailed everyones conversations b/c I don’t live here or work in tech. I got a lot of new contacts, but they all added me on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn at the same time so I honestly don’t know who is who. Too much too fast, ya know? I actually saw another person there I had previously met at the cultural meet up at coffee talk, shes backpacking through the country, also really had no place there, and found the event on Facebook. Honestly everything yall find for me to do on eventbrite and/or Facebook is kinda wack. Wound up at a rooftop bar with a pool at the end of the night with a couple folks from the mixer-- I deff cannot afford that vibe at home.

So tuesday a student from one of my classes responded to me with “yes sir” and i was like sir? And after some back and forth (japanese students like to say yes a lot and repeat themselves) i told him I am not a sir.

Today i had that class again and a different student said yes ma’am. Ma’am? Ma’am? (Trying to confirm if he was right) and I said yea

I haven’t taught them that. I have never seen it in a textbook in the past three years (which probably means they are not learning it in class)

This is my super loud and rowdy class. They talk all class and I have to babysit them individually to make them do any work. They pretend they cant understand or speak english at all

This isn’t the first of this kind of talk. But i appreciate that their efforts to be annoying (I don’t actually find them annoying but most teachers do) they looked up how to correctly make an annoying reply to my orders for them to do their work

Maybe Im right maybe im wrong but theyre also a class full of students that prove to me continuing to talk to them in almost all English and not Japanese like they want, despite making explanations take more time, is beneficial. They want to be annoying. It’s not fun if I cant understand whatever they wanna say. So over time they speak more and more English because 1. they think I cant understand any Japanese and 2. I almost always reply back in English

Thought this specific class does often make me wonder about them copying what I say.

That class and a couple others have students who perfectly explain to me their ideas. Refuse to write them down on their tests saying they they don’t know how (and wont try cause they just dont wanna) and when I tell other teachers theyre good at English the other teachers are like ‘really?? I didn’t think so’ because the student doesn’t feel forced to communicate in English with them

Anyway i like that class and realized last week that the loud boy acts exactly like one of my best friends which is amusing and also confirmed my suspicion theres no way to get him to be quiet and finish his work beyond putting him on adhd meds. Like as I write this and think about how now only was him showing me random pictures on his ipad while i stood next to him trying to get him to listen to my co-teacher talk exactly what my friend did when she didnt wanna pay attention to something. But also today they were supposed to write stuff and he started climbing in and out of the window acting like we couldnt see him if he pulled the curtain over him and hiding his shoes around the room and acting like he was looking for them. That is deff the kind of thing my friend would do when we try to get her to do her homework

Luke: the high collar?? horrific. that boy doesn’t wear a single top that is tighter on his neck than a t-shirt or hoodie, and in this scene he literally is pulling on the collar in discomfort. he’d probably feel so restricted, the boy hardly even wears SLEEVES. i think caleb got the flowers on the guitar strap right, and the darker clothes given that Luke often wears more toned down shades of clothing, but the rest is a big miss

Reggie: that suit looks like sensory hell and you cannot tell me for one minute he would be comfortable in it. which is funny because again, i think the colour is right for Reggie’s individual style, but it’s just too smooth and slick, you know? Reggie is leather jackets and flannels, not some weird suede suit. that’s like, the opposite of his usual vibes.

and the last thing?? they all clash SO BADLY the way caleb dressed them. it works in stand tall because Julie’s purple dress actually ties all the colours together but alone the light pink, bright red, navy blue combo is chaotic. which just again points to caleb trying to entice them as individuals, not realizing that the togetherness and the connection is what matters the most.

you were minding your business just scrolling through your phone when he walked up to to you, taking your arm in his hands and inspecting it thoroughly with his eyebrows together and lip in a thin line. "what are you doing?" you go to look at the spot he was inspecting so closely, eyes met with a bruise.

"what happened here?" he looks up at you waiting patiently for your response. "oh i bumped the door yesterday. why, does it look bad?" "you should've told me, it needed ice and now your arm is injured." he frowns at you rubbing the spot with his thumb, "does it hurt too bad?"

"hmm not really. i didn't tell you because i didn't think it was a big deal." he looks offended at your words, "it's important to me." he pouts and sticks out his bottom lip. you chuckle, "okay big baby next time i hit my arm on the door i'll let you know." he nods his head presses a kiss to your cheek, "okay good."

tanaka

you had just happened to walk past him and immediately he had your arm in his hand, "what'd you do here?" he looks up at you an eyebrow raised. "oh, oh my gosh okay so i was minding my own business- on my phone walking to the bedroom- when i hit my arm on the shelf! ryuu it hurt so bad!" you explain dramatically, becoming quite emotional and annoyed at the reminder of yesterdays injury.

he gasps to your story, "baby what the hell? you shoulda told me!" quickly he presses a kiss to your bruise resulting in a laugh from you and speeds away towards your shared bedroom you trail closely behind your boyfriend "ryuu where are you going?" "the book shelf"

as soon as you get to shelf in question he's taking the stuff off the shelves, "babe, what are you doing, you're making a mess-" "well i have to move the shelf." he groans dramatically, like it was obvious he HAD to move it. "what- ryuu, but it's fine where it is." you place your hand on his shoulder causing him to rise from his previous crouched position. "nuh uh- it hurt you babe, it has to go."

you had been laying together on the couch, his head resting on your tummy, shirt slightly raised bc he "needed to be closer" when he noticed the little round bruise that had begun forming just above your hip. "babe, what happened here?" he pokes it lightly, looking up when you wince and grumble an "owe, yuu", "oh sorry" quickly he kisses it, "all better?"

you giggle a 'yeah' and he smiles contently, "so what happened?" "i ran into the corner of the table earlier, it's just a little sore." he nods at your explanation, "yeah i've done that too... actually a lot of times, maybe we should move the table." he laughs running his thumb gently over the sore spot.

"sore huh? do you want some medicine?" "i dont think that necessary yuu, besides your kiss made it feel a little better. you say, hoping he'll get the hint and kiss it again. his eyes light up and his lips upturn into a wide grin, "really? only a little?" "mhm, only a little" "maybe it needs more kisses then?."

The remorse. The regret. It only made the pounding in your head even worse. Why those two 1.5 litre bottle of Bacardi had been brought out was beyond you. Why the you six of you had then decided to empty said bottle was even more of a mystery. It wasn’t like any of you had needed it, you’d all been more than ‘merry’ prior to the cheap rum and coke. 

Hence the state of you, Tom and Harry as well as your manager Davey and Tom’s team of Rachel and Andrew. All having made very little effort with your appearance - joggers and hoodies all round, with you and Rachel also sporting sunglasses because you were simply smarter than the boys. Thankfully, this wasn’t a big trip that fans knew about, this was you and Tom moving location under cover  - the studios didnt want anybody to know that either of you made a feature in this film, so everything was under the cover of darkness. Which to be honest you were not complaining about. However, you were complaining about the fact the flight had been scheduled to leave at 7 am the night after your wrap party though.

The two of you had just wrapped your most recent and most ambitious movie to date - hence the massive celebrations last night for just surviving and getting it done. It had been the most intense 3 months of your life, there had been times you’d cry for hours on end, times you just wanted to quit fully knowing you’d never be hired again for leaving a multimillion dollar company in the lurch.But you all, somehow, had survived. So celebrations were in order of course but perhaps not as far as you all managed last night?

Your whole convey appeared to have travelled to the airfield in absolute silence, no one particularly fancied hearing anyone else’s voice- which to be honest seemed quite fair. You’d ridden in a car with Tom and Harry, with you resting your head on Tom’s broad shoulder - which had obviously made Harry gag, rolling his eyes. Bless Harry, really he was the only reason you and Tom had got together, after getting sick of the mutual pining he’d been forced to live with during the previous 2 projects you’d worked on together. But now, having had to put up with the two of you being so ridiculously loved up for the past 3 months - understandably a bit of distance from you and his brother was overdue. 

One of the flight attendants busied themselves loading your luggage, whilst the pilot asked you and Tom for a photo. Of course, you weren’t going to say no however you did have to cringe at how rough you both looked. His teenage daughter certainly would be less excited to see that her Dad hadn’t met Tom Holland and Y/n Y/l/n. Instead he’d met the zombified, undead and rougher frauds. Still you smiled as much as you could, wincing when you removed the glasses and the early morning sun pierced your restricted pupils. God it wasn’t your day. 

The guy didn’t seem to mind though, excitedly hurrying off onto the plane to settle in the rest of you - leaving just you and Tom outside on the tarmac. 

“Poor guy, we look like shit.” You murmured while taking a step closer to lean slightly into his side. 

“Speak for yourself love.’Tom snickered into the top of your head, after pulling you completely into his chest. This wasn’t normally allowed, your relationship still wasn’t public and both of you intended on keeping it private for as long as possible. But you were in an otherwise empty field in the middle of nowhere (somewhere in Georgia) before 8 am. It was actually quite nice to feel your boyfriends arms round you in the outside world, especially when you felt this shit. After a few moments you pulled away, arching back at Tom’s pouty face as you motioned it was time to get on the plane. 

“’S too late you know.” Your brows furrowed at his half formed sentence, facial expression only demanding him to explain more. “They all have already taken the good seats… Harry basically sprinted on so he can hog the bed thing.” In response it was your turn to pout, groaning as you fell back into his chest again. Yes, this was a complete first world issue, a private jet paid completely by your bosses was not something a lot would moan about. Truly you were grateful for everything you had in life, but with the worst hangover of your life when the opportunity of lying down for 6 hours instead of being stuck in a chair had manifested itself… well of course you felt robbed by your almost brother Harry. 

Chuckling at your reaction, he gave you an extra squeeze before leading the both of you up the stairs to the cabin. Sure enough Harry had completely and totally claimed the longer couch at the far end of the plane, lying on his stomach with his face hidden in the crook of his elbow. Rolling your eyes at the predictable situation, you didn’t miss Davey laughing at your sorry state - nmaking you throw daggers at him in your eyes. 

Davey was your second father, the relationship between the two of you far transcended any professional working one. Which is why the two of you acting like this was very much a norm and not rude at all. He had also got the next best seat in the corner with the most leg room which he clearly loved to show off. 

Unsurprisingly then you and Tom ended up squashed into the corner with your legs crumpled up together in the small space floor space. The brunette opposite you didn’t seem to mind so much but that was because he had an adaptational advantage. He could sleep anywhere and everywhere , whenever he wanted. On set if he was tired? Just take a ten minute power nap on the floor. Bored of a long car journey? Just conk out against the window. It absolutely infuriated you, as no matter how hard and how exhausted you were - it was rare you could get any further than a light doze. Even before the two go you got together, having a best mate that could skip all the boring bits and was immune to jet lag… you can see how that makes you want to punch him square in the face.

After a short safety talk from the pilot and flight attendant, the plane whirred into life and you were up in the air. Although in your current state, it would be reasonable to assume the beauty of flying had somewhat rubbed off - you were certain it never would. No matter how many flights you took across country ,and in fact continents, for work; you’d never get sick of watching the view below you. It was perfect and breathtaking and took your mind off the pounding in the back of your head for the first 20 minutes.

Until the need for sleep took over as either you need to be unconcious or you were going to vomit - which you really didn’t want to do at 40,000 feet in a tin box. Trying to rearrange your limbs to get comfier you accidentally knocked Tom’s leg rather forcefully, causing him to jump half out his seat, heavy eyes blinking quickly as he tried to get his baring as to what was attacking him - quickly answered by your guilty look. 

“You okay love?” His voice was slurred, sounding almost sleep drunk - but perhaps was just actually still a little drunk. You’d only headed to bead last night at 4 am and had to be up at 6 - which isnt very long for your poor kidneys to try and process the stupid amount of alcohol you’d both  happily been chugging the night before.

“Feel shitty and cant sleep.” You weren’t in the mood to white lie - honestly some sympathy from your beautiful boyfriend seemed like a dream at the moment. Tom’s idea was better though.

“C’mere then.” His arms outstretched, you immediately jumped into his lap - the two of you shifting about to get comfortable till you were sat side on to him, your bum and back leaning against the arm rest of the chair with your legs going over his thighs and pressing against the wall of the plane. Pulling you closer to his chest, Tom took a deep breath as he pressed his chin against the crown of your head; your face now nested into his chest. 

Nothing needed to be said as the two of you melted into each others bodies, the slow and deepening breathing enough to prove to each other you were both incredibly contented in that moment. More than that you felt safe- you’d admitted to Tom some weeks ago that you had never ever slept better than when he was beside you. Yeh it was cringey but sometimes that’s allowed right? 

… well not to Harry. Because as the plane was about to begin it’s descent, the pilot had tasked Harry (who had slept off the worst of the hangover and had spent the last 30 minutes of the flight scoffing at how adorable the two of you looked fast asleep together) - even after Rach had scalded him and had taken a photo of the two of you on her phone. 

Causing Harry to ,ever subtly, wake the two of you up by throwing his half empty water bottle over your heads. 

Safe to say, Harry very nearly didn’t leave that jet alive.

Is it the same w mailin and nora? Idk I'm curious what's going to happen and honestly, I like either option. I trust druck enough to eventually give us a wlw season, so for me, it doesnt have to be nora and mailin

uuuh i guess ill answer my surface level thoughts and then put a read more for a longer answer? 

short answer: im gay+trans and i simply do not think or care about cishets. if a cishet only ships gay things im deff side eyeing and wouldnt interact cus of how much there is to unpack with that LMAO 

long answer below the cut because the way this is phrased leaves a lot open ended + ik this is definitely an issue that needs to be talked about. ie here is what there is to unpack

long answer: in this context, straight/gay is a loose way to put it because trans people exist so boiling things down to if something is just like gay or not is kinda eh if you’re going into representation with the LGBT+ community and how people participate with/within it. i’ll make sure to define if im talking explicitly about a cishet person or someone within the LGBT+ community with this q. 

if you mean someone who is cishet and only ships exclusively gay ships id probably say theyre fetishizing it to some extent considering there can be healthy relationships between anyone? my point with trans people above is made to say that trans people can be/are in straight relationships or are straight; so there are also most likely trans people who are straight and only ship gay ships. people in the LGBT+ community can participate in whatever way they want and if theyre not hurting others in the process i really dont have anything to say on it. this isn’t to say i’m like dividing things but people within the community have been forced to see straight and cis relationships in media all the time so honestly its our option on if we wanna ship straight or not. i feel like this was worded poorly so feel free to correct me, i just dont wanna brush over the fact that consuming only gay content can lead to the erasure of trans people and transphobia in general. i know this question didnt directly involve trans people with the mix but its important to include, especially with another point made down below. 

if someone is cishet and exclusively ships gay ships esp if they’re diff gender like example cishet man only consuming wlw or a cishet woman only consuming mlm then they should probably reflect on the following

1. why they are so focused on consuming only one type of sexuality/gender related media and what community are they in that resulted in that; are they in a space where they are overstepping their bounds?

2. would they be ok with it irl and not just in fictional settings?

3. if a character within that relationship was trans would their view on it change? ie are they tying gender to genitals/are they transphobic and view trans people as not who they are?

4. is the context is Always nsfw ie consumed to fetishize, stereotype, and sexualize gay people’s lifestyles and relationships?

depending on how these are answered it can become obvious that the cishet person is actually homophobic/transphobic and views gay relationships as some hot jerk off material or some sacred infallible concept, erasing the fact that we exist as normal people in everyday spaces same as everyone else. on the other hand maybe the cishet person genuinely just doesnt have any straight ships LOL i think its a slim chance but a possibility

there is more i could go into because being LGBT+ is like all things, a very intersectional conversation tied together with many other issues esp in modern day society. if anything i said is completely off again feel free to correct me!! this is just my 2 cents as someone who’s participated in fandom spaces as an LGBT+ poc for.... a while....  i really couldn’t care less about a cishet person in the same way i couldnt care less about a white person, they are completely off my radar esp when it comes to content i make or wanna consume/talk about. but i do want to acknowledge that their consumption and participation in LGBT+ media can be very harmful and its important to know why.

i feel like i still have more thoughts on this but it’s a topic that is very discussion based so..... ya

i think it really varies case to case but on the surface level they’re at best ignorant but harmful and at worst homophobic,transphobic, and perpetuating stereotypes that dehumanize and delegitimize us.
