i have a bit of an issue that maybe you could give some insight onto?

so my school has a fun day next week where we can all dress up in costumes and play games and hang out with our friends all day (its our school feast day), and the theme is 'work it' where you can dress up as your dream job or what you want to be when you grow up!

so my friend group decided we were gonna go as a 3 person rock/pop band! its going to be so fun, we have bright pink inflatable electric guitars and mics!

but my problem is that i dont know what to wear bc i have to dress up as a popstar and i have no idea... my friends are really confident in their outfits and their normal style is very like, tank tops/miniskirts etc, which is basically the vibe of the popstar band yk?

but im not as confident in a tank top or a short skirt though.

ive been trying to develop my style and its very all over the place, i kinda hate it... but i just have no idea what to wear? i dont even know what type of clothes i like to wear in general so maybe this is the root of the issue

anyways that was a very long rant im sorry it was so long and this is probably really hard to answer :(

so maybe just a bit of outfit advice, popstar inspired (also got to be warm, its currently winter) and maybe some overall style advice too if you're willing?

what to do with the costumes ⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

ok so FIRST OF ALL before i say anything !!! i just wanna say the number one most important thing in this whole situation is that youre comfortable and feel confident in what you're wearing! the name of the event is a fun day but it wont be very fun if you feel insecure the whole time 😣 your friends are going to be comfortable in the clothes they're gonna be wearing and you deserve to feel the same! + if theyre your friends im sure they wouldn't mind :)

you can totally look like a popstar without a tank top and miniskirt! the examples/fixes im gonna give below will depend on what you feel comfortable with, feel free to modify as you see fit!!!!

tank top -> baby tee

above is my queen maisie peters certified pop star 😋 i feel like tank tops and baby tees give off the same vibe, not sure why but its good because if you're uncomfortable with the amount of arm a tank top shows, that can be fixed with a baby tee!! you can also wear a more oversized tee like maisie in the second pic if youre uncomfortable with how tight a baby tee is!!

2. long sleeves!! or a cute jacket

i considered grouping this w the first one since its the same thing just long sleeves if youre completely against showing any arm and/or you'd be cold (since you said its winter)!! i cant find any examples of artists wearing long sleeved tops unfortunately i think thats cz they probs dont get cold when performing on stage for hours 😫 BUT YOU CAN ALSO WEAR A CUTE JACKET!!! i dont like to wear jackets that much since i find them overstimulating n claustrophobic if that makes sense, but yk who does !??!

ms brina herself 😋 i LOVE her first outfit w the blue n white leather jacket so much! i feel like it combines the harsh and soft in one piece of clothing rly well ☺️ im gonna be saying this a lot throughout this post, but find fun jackets like sabrina's above !!!

3. tights!!! bonus points if theyre fun

if you still wanna wear a skirt, you can always wear tights if youre uncomfortable with the amount of leg a short skirt shows !!! i feel like some star patterned ones would be SO fun for the pop/rockstar theme as well 😫 you can even get coloured tights to match some other aspect of your oufit 😋

ms olivia rodrigo is almost always wearing fun tights!!! i couldn't find good pics but just look at some concert vids of her and you'll probs find lots of examples 😚

4. skirts come in all lengths 😊

we are so blessed to have skirts in all sorts of lengths on this planet!!! if you're still uncomfortable with the idea of wearing a mini skirt, wear a longer one! I LOVEEE maxi skirts so much i have a crazy amount of them in my wardrobe 😫

i feel like maxi skirts come in a lot of fun styles and cuts and patters n wtv, so theres lots for you to choose from! you could make it the centre of attention and wear something like the first one, or you could wear something simple like the second!!! if you do wear a maxi skirt id def pair it with some chunky black boots to add to the rock/popstar edge like in the first pic, or maybe even a chunky belt !! belt doesnt have to be on properly u can wear it the way they did in the 2000s (idk what this would look like tho so forgive me if its atrocious

i know shes wearing a dress in these pics but im using it as an example of having your legs completely covered and still serving popstar!!! her black boots are a VERY good example of that too, def broke the softness of the pink dress and gave her a little edge ☺️

5. pants !!! bonus points if theyre fun (again)

if youre 100% sure you dont wanna wear a skirt at all, then wear pants! just like the tights, i'd def try to get some fun ones 😋 using maisie peters as an example again LOL her outfits are perfect for this

i hope this helped with the first bit!!! i feel like rock/popstar isnt a uniform, its a VIBE and these pics prove it 😊 if you wanna match with your friends id focus on matching colours instead of clothing types! also dont forget you get to do your hair and makeup & that will def help add to the pop/rockstar look 😚 AND ALSO ACCESSORIES !!! ive said this a lot but id wear some black boots for sure i feel like you could wear almost anything w black boots n get away w calling it pop/rock star 😚 there are sooo many options for you to choose from !! id def search up "[artist name] stage outfits" if you want more inspo :)

general style tips ⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

okay so this is something im still working on myself LOL i'll try to give some tips based on what i've gathered!!

pinterest is your best friend. ive been hating it lately because its only been showing fugly pics for my boards BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND CUTE OUTFIT INSPO ON PINTEREST!!! think about outfits other people have worn that you've liked & search up either more outfit inspo of them (if theyre a celeb/famous) or whatever aesthetic that happens to be part of !! make a style board and add a few pics you like and eventually pin will recommend some things you might also like 😋 since you said you dont know what kind of outfits you like, i feel like looking at outfits you've liked on other people is a good start 😊 try to look for people with similar features as you as well:)

think about outfits you've felt your best in and outfits you've felt your worst in!! once you've got them in your head, think about why you felt that way about those outfits/what aspects you particularly liked, and find outfits and pieces with similar aspects (using pinterest again). i feel like a lot of us dont notice we're wearing an outfit we aren't comfy in until we take a bit of time to think LOL. for example, i rly dont like wearing black unless its jeans/pants or a skirt (basically if its not the main focus of an outfit LMAO) i feel like every time i wear black as the main focus it doesn't rly match w my personality and i rly like when my outfit and how i feel on the inside match!! so i just completely eliminated black tops from my wardrobe LMAO i have a few ones that r exceptions, but you will rarely ever catch me in black!

think about what suits your complexion/features too! theres a lot of stuff about soft winter cool autumn on tt but i dont mean that LOL i find it confusing 😭 literally j wear things of diff colours n see if it suits you or washes you out! id recommend having a family member or a friend weigh in on this too since sometimes other people see things you dont 🤔 bonus points if this person is very blunt/honest since youre guaranteed the truth w them !!! when i was younger i was obsessed w wearing red but it looks HORRID on me like idk what's in the colour red that just completely washes me out and makes me look like a zombie 😭 luckily my mom brought this to my attention and now u will never catch me in red either !! ive also been told i look good in whites/creams, baby pink and baby blue, so i try to incorporate those into my wardrobe more!

remember that its okay for your style not to fit into a specific aesthetic:) i feel like these days theres so much emphasis placed on the aesthetic youre part of, but i find thats not really realistic since we're so complex as humans you cant j fit one person into a single aesthetic 😭 dont worry if you feel like your outfits are too different from each other or wtv, what's important is that you feel confident in all of them! your closet is a YOU aesthetic, not vanilla girl or clean girl or downtown girl or anything 😊 use the aesthetics for inspo, dont force yourself to emulate them 100%

do a wardrobe detox!! i do this every once in a while LOL make a pile of yes, nos and maybes! once youre done, look thru the yes's and nos and think about why they ended up there 🤔 ALSO make sure to donate your clothes or give them to your sibling (i give a lot of things to my sister LMAO) or smth pls dont j throw them away because so many people are in need of clothes esp now that the weather is getting colder !!!!

remember that this will take time! clothes aren't cheap most of the time, and unless youre very rich you cant just buy a whole new wardrobe in one day 😫 embrace the journey of finding your style!!! imagine yourself as a fashion student in a movie if that helps LOL and be proud of yourself for taking this step! definitely start with buying pieces that are more versatile and can be paired with multiple things so you can rewear them a lot while fixing up your wardrobe! 💘

Hi, I loved your post about the family vacation with Ichi and Sawashiro. And I'll just say that I didn't have a problem with Sawashiro's role in IW... until the very last second. Because they get a freaking helicopter for Kiryu, but no one even went to look if Sawashiro was ok?? They just leave him in the chair while tending to Kiryu. BOTH of them are dying.

Like holy shit, Ichi would have gone to him in a second. He would have stopped Ebina's monologue instead of just standing there without even knowing if he was alive or not. That was for me the most disrespectful moment. I loved how Ichi believed in him at the beginning of Chapter 10, and then I was expecting some kind of reunion at the end but he f*cks off to Hawaii, not even a "Please save the Captain" to Kiryu or anything. That's what made me the most mad

I really hope they pay us off in Y9, he better come back with a cool eyepatch and join the party

Omg I didn't really expect anyone to read that post let alone get an ask about it but I'm so glad that you loved it!! And huge same if he's not coming back as a party member or dying in a meaningful way, there's no point bringing that asshole back.

Me, being the Arakawa family tragedy enjoyer that I am, was overjoyed to see Sawashiro back for 8 and while he did have a few banger moments, the ending really did ruin it all for me. Me bitching abt it under the cut bc I need to puke out my anger Somewhere

Like I keep going back to think about how Ebina calls Ichi, tells him that he's got a bone to pick with him, tells him that he's holding Sawashiro captive bc what better bait to dangle in front of Ichi than the possibility of someone he cares for getting hurt??? And lets be real here the rest of the cast has no reason whatsoever to care about Sawashiro other than him being someone important to Ichi. (I think Tomi says something like 'i dont know this guy but if he's being used as bait he's gotta be important to you' iirc)

Then Kiryu walks in and is like "leave Ebina to me" bc Ebina's plotline is suddenly something personal Kiryu has to deal with??? (my feelings about kiryu being a protag in this game is a whole diff can of worms that I wont open rn but keep in mind how its mostly negative) So Ichi leaves that to him and doesn't really state what he's feeling about all the new info that gets dropped on him (this could be a 'Ichi putting others above himself' moment but i still hate it bc whats the point of Ebina's '''plot twist''' if Ichi was not even a part of it????)

And my god Sawashiro at that last scene. I think my live reaction of that scene is still on twitter where I just bitch for an hour. Even before the scene happened I was like "If they kill Sawashiro without Ichi present it'd make no sense. just like how killing Hanawa without Kiryu present was a Bad Choice".

When that chair turned... I think I tuned out the rest of Ebina's monologue bc I kept thinking the same 3 things: 1. none of this would've happened if sawashiro came with me to hawaii, 2. there's absolutely no reason for this to happen with This Cast (i dont think they even react outside of gasping or something) and 3. when will this masato clone wanna-be shut the fuck up so I can beat his face in (One thing I'll give to that chair scene was how it was a direct parallel to Hoshino's corpse. I think it was a very sexy thing rgg did.)

And then they're like "look!! he's not dead!!!" but at that point I was not sure if that was a 'last words' or a 'he's still alive!' moment. and I'm gonna be honest I Still Do Not know bc just like you said anon, NOONE DOES ANYTHING ABOUT HIM??? (nor about ebina for that matter) AND THEN THERES NO FOLLOW UP WHATSOEVER????? and all this makes me see it as sequel bait tbh

and I'm not even going into how he doesnt even get to meet Akane again. Thats a whole other topic on its own and I think I already typed out enough lol.

i didnt perform at all lolol i hope i can next time we set up. some of my classmates got to perform. the labor made me feel like the main character because we were setting up the stage! and it was in the middle (ok not middle but you feel me) of the cafeteria and the performace was peak lunch time so we were setting up and everyone was looking (well i mean not AT me but at what we were doing collectively as a class) but still i felt like the main character cos im always hot when i go to school <3 🤩😌💅

short answer: im gay+trans and i simply do not think or care about cishets. if a cishet only ships gay things im deff side eyeing and wouldnt interact cus of how much there is to unpack with that LMAO

long answer: in this context, straight/gay is a loose way to put it because trans people exist so boiling things down to if something is just like gay or not is kinda eh if you’re going into representation with the LGBT+ community and how people participate with/within it. i’ll make sure to define if im talking explicitly about a cishet person or someone within the LGBT+ community with this q. 

if you mean someone who is cishet and only ships exclusively gay ships id probably say theyre fetishizing it to some extent considering there can be healthy relationships between anyone? my point with trans people above is made to say that trans people can be/are in straight relationships or are straight; so there are also most likely trans people who are straight and only ship gay ships. people in the LGBT+ community can participate in whatever way they want and if theyre not hurting others in the process i really dont have anything to say on it. this isn’t to say i’m like dividing things but people within the community have been forced to see straight and cis relationships in media all the time so honestly its our option on if we wanna ship straight or not. i feel like this was worded poorly so feel free to correct me, i just dont wanna brush over the fact that consuming only gay content can lead to the erasure of trans people and transphobia in general. i know this question didnt directly involve trans people with the mix but its important to include, especially with another point made down below.

Time skip 8 years later skeppy has left his hometown where he was bitten and is doing very well for himself, he is a very adept vampire with a clan thats like a family (think idots, invadedlands gang) he is rich and invests in real estate (lol) but tells people he is a magician for a living. Vampires in this au can be in the sun but only for short amounts of time otherwise they’ll get bad skin burns eventually think 2-3 hours max, skeppys strong suit is that he can stay out in the sun double the amount and skeppy is very adept at using vampire compulsion in a way that makes people not realize, it’s very soft and more of a suggestion and planting ideas in people's heads he is also very good at blending in with normal people. Skeppy decides he wants to go back to where he grew up on a whim one day, either to confront his past or something like that, everyone disagrees with him and the he shouldn't because that area isnt a safe space for vampires due to vampire hunters but he decides to hell with their warnings and leaves, they all follow him one by one eventually because theyre worried for him and theyre not gonna leave him alone in case he gets in trouble In almost a string of fate type deal he immediately runs into bbh in a bakery/coffee shop looking for muffins, skeppy recognizes bbh and is almost floored he is just standing there staring at him in shock before he realizes he should probably act normal, he says hi and then he is worried at first that bbh will recognize him but he doesn't skeppy has changed very much from when he was 12, skeppy almost considers following bbh but he knows he is a hunter and doesn't want to risk it, instead he camps out the shop hoping to see him again and he does, bbh comes in every couple days for muffins and coffee After a while he works up the courage to approach him out of impulse and to talk to him he doesn't know what compels him but he needs to know more about him Essentially he tries super hard to befriend him, after a couple false assumptions about dating and a LOT of suspicion and shut downs, bbh agrees to hang out with him after skeppy tells him he is a magician and he gets roped in to do a show for kids that bbh teaches and skeppy is floored thats the thing that gets him to open up Bbh hasnt been a hunter in a long time, he works as a teacher’s assistance for elementary kids, he does become a sort of a mentor to the dteam in terms of vampire hunting picking them up like strays over the years, dream especially is very gungho about being a hunter after a bad experience with werewolves and he is very good at studying and the reputation of the area being dangerous for the paranormal comes from him (i think itd be cool if he gets bit and turned into a vampire later on and skeppy gives his help and its a secret between them)

George comes from a family of witches/warlocks so he is already familiar with the paranormal he met bbh when they were both highschool age and they kinda just.. made beef kidney with mushrooms and onions in a mustard sauce largely using this recipe last week!

added some cayenne

used some fresh button mushrooms in addition to the dried porcini bc i didnt have that much

i ended up doubling the amount of the creme fraiche and mustard sauce

i used a spicy dijon but also ground up a mix of black and yellow whole mustard seeds roughly along with some colmans mustard powder to give it a bit more texture and flavor

i dont really drink much wine and didnt want to waste opening a whole bottle just for this so i used some cheapo cab sauv merlot blend that came in tiny not even full serving bottles in a pack. maybe not the most economic by volume but worth it for how i use wine. also tbh i ended up liking just drinking the rest of the bottle so thats good too lol expected it to be more shit from reviews but im no sommelier so all the better i can enjoy it w/o being discerning

took out all the fat from the kidney then let it sit in milk in the fridge for 2 days (was gonna do one but then couldnt cook that night) it was so funny it was pink when i took it out even tho i rinsed it well before then

then i did the blanching with vinegar water as described in this recipe but then i couldnt really do anythin with it for a while anyway so i then soaked it in water with vinegar in it for like an hour or so on the counter afterwards too like id seen in other recipes

was kinda nervous when i started cooking it bc i remembered a thing i read from some julia childs recipe where she said you should cook the kidney whole so that the liquids dont all come out and just steam it but i just didnt know how to compromise that with other recipes saying to take out all the fat bc kidney fat increases the piss flavor lol. so a Lot of liquid came out and it def steamed a bit but i wasnt able to really slow cook it either so im sure it couldve been more tender if i could possibly find a way to balance both those needs or did a more slow cooking recipe but honestly it was barely an issue it still was plenty good imo as someone whos never had kidney before. recipes were making me so worried when they all hated on beef kidney as compared to other types of kidney meats

on a similar note ppl said that beef kidneys were much stronger flavored than other kidneys maybe besides pig and a lot of similar recipes said they would avoid beef kidney so that got me a bit worried about flavor too. especially when i read in one recipe to not trust recipes that tell you to cook in the liquids of the kidney instead of taking out the kidney and wiping out the pan or just cooking everything beyond the meat separately until the end. but since a lot of the liquids disolved anyway and i tasted it and honestly it was fine i just trusted this recipe and i dont think the flavor was too strong or anything even though i didnt cook it separately

as for the potatoes i used this recipe

and i kinda wish i had gone with my gut and avoided putting in the onions and garlic right at the beginning

the potatoes were very nicely crispy but the onions and garlic got absolutely burnt to a crisp (was not a problem with my oven temperature! i have a second thermometer to check that)

if i did this again i’d put the onions like idk maybe halfway through and the garlic only right at the end

unnatural - wjsn | recommended songs: all of them (especially unnatural, supermoon, and yalla) except for rewind | skips: just rewind bc ballad /// im not sure what style to call this album but they really made such a smash, its crazy that it came out so early in the year and no gg is touching it (album wise). literally the only complaints i have are the obligatory ballad (that they always do bc they can all sing lmfao), the album cover/title (dont love the cover design and i dont love when the album name is the tt name, except in certain circumstances (a full album (especially where the title isnt necessarily from the title track) like montero) or when it's a single album (the inverse of this being rsq's prequel which couldve just been called colorfull since that was the only damn song 😐)). i also was disappointed with the outfits for last dance but that's peripheral.

The highlight of your days became the time you spent online. So much so that you began staying up til nearly 4am, and sleeping in until noon or one every day. You couldn’t get enough of the new world you’d discovered..

You couldn’t get enough of your new friend.

Was it crazy? To look forward to small chats with someone you just met, and didn’t even know their name, gender or age? Probably.

You didn’t allow yourself to consider it too much, otherwise you knew your anxiety would make you question everything and shut them out.

You’re logging off early tonight, deciding you need a bit of extra time spent with yourself. A bubble bath, a glass of wine or two, and maybe a face mask. It was hard to remember the last time you’d participated in lengthy self care, and you knew it was well needed.

Drawing the bath, you set your phone on the bathroom counter. You only leave for a few moments to grab the wine, and you’re surprised to find the screen lit up when you come back.

A new message from Sarge.

Cocking your head to the side, you pick up your device and open your gaming app. They never messaged you outside of when you were playing games.. what could this be about?

[Sarge:] I know this might be odd and may come off as invasive, but.. I was wondering if you’d maybe wanna play 20 questions…?

[Sarge:] Get to know each other better?

Before you can even respond, more messages are coming through.

[Sarge:] You can also absolutely say no, it’s just.. 

[Sarge:] This quarantine has been… hard. I have a roommate, but.. I find myself lost in my head so frequently, feeling trapped and…

[Sarge:] To be quite honest, the only time I don’t feel that way is when I’m talking to you.

Your cheeks were burning, and it couldn’t be from the wine because you hadn’t touched it to your lips yet.

[Sarge:] You never even have to tell me your name if you don’t want to. I never even need to see what you look like, I just.. 

[Sarge:] I feel like we both need something to hold on to during all of this. 

[Sarge:] At least.. I know I do.

Their words have your head swimming as you sit on the edge of the tub. 

Should you? Should you not? 

They never wanted to see you, or know your name… it’s not even like they could stalk you to the point of randomly showing up at your house because of the quarantine.

You lick your lips in contemplation and then sigh.

What could it really hurt?

[clairv0yant:] I… think I would actually really like that.

Your first and only concern comes to mind, so you figure now is the time to voice it.

[clairv0yant:] But first… how old are you exactly? Lol

You were suddenly terrified you might be talking to just a child, and you definitely didn’t want to find yourself attached if that were the case.

[Sarge:] Lol. I guess that’s fair.

[Sarge:] Well, some days, I swear I’m over a hundred, but..

[Sarge:] Today, I’m feeling more mid thirties. How about you?

A weight lifts from your chest that you didn’t realize was there before. They were pretty close to your age. And they had a good sense of humor? You couldn't keep yourself from smiling just a bit.

You decide to keep on that note.

[clairv0yant:] Today? Late twenties. :P

The next few hours were spent playing way more than the agreed upon ‘20 questions’, but you didn’t mind.

You’d learned that your new friend was male and ex-military, though he still held a position that required him to travel from time to time when he wasn’t banned from doing so.

You learned that he loved classical music, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, but he was more than open to listening to some of your recommendations as well.

He didn’t have any family left to support him, but his roommate was his best friend, and though they both continuously pick at each other, they always have each other's backs.

His favorite color is blue.

He loves peanut butter cookies and hates vanilla wafers.

His favorite time of day is the hours just before sunrise, when he normally goes for 5 mile long runs.

The most intriguing thing you’d learned is how much of a sweetheart he is, and a bit of a flirt, though he doesn’t seem to even realize that fact.

[Sarge:] Alright, this one is a deal breaker.. Are you prepared?

[clairv0yant:] Hit me with it. 

[Sarge:] Do you sleep with socks on? 

[clairv0yant:] Ugh no way. I can’t stand it. That’s the worst.

[Sarge:] Atta girl. :P

You check the clock and it’s nearly 3am. This is usually the time that he says he’s off to bed, but he hasn’t brought up the inevitable parting yet.

You use this opportunity to ask a question that’s been in the back of your mind since the game started.

[clairv0yant:] So, do you have a name, or should i just call you Sarge? :P

You see him start to type, then stop, then start again.

A few moments pass before his response is popping up on your screen.

[Sarge:] You can call me Sarge for now.. or J, if you’d like. How about you, doll?

The new pet name sends a shiver right up your spine, and you flush at the involuntary reaction.

You understood his hesitation about giving out so much personal information, you hardly knew each other at this point. Pressing him for more just seemed like an ass move, so you decide to keep with the cryptic-ness of his answer… but with a little flirting.

[clairv0yant:] Clair is fine… or ‘Doll’. :P

You’re nervous to see how he’ll react to your answer, which in turn, makes you nervous in general. 

Were you really flirting with a stranger you met on the internet named Sarge? 

Was the quarantine starting to affect your common sense?

[Sarge:] Hmmm… I think I like ‘Doll.’ I’ll save Clair for when you’re in trouble. ;)

His response has your cheeks burning, as they have so many times during your conversation and you find yourself at a loss for words. 

He was turning out to be the world's biggest flirt.

[Sarge:] Well, doll, we should both get some rest, as much as I’d hate to part with you.. 

[Sarge:] We can pick this back up tomorrow, if you’d like?

You sigh, partly from contentment and partly from sorrow.

for example i could say Einführungsveranstaltungsteilnehmer (which is not underlined with red by tumblr because it is a grammatically correct compound word (i think that‘s what they‘re called?)) which is the words introduction + event + participant, so that word just means “participant of an introductory event“ but instead it‘s one word? i hope that makes sense? dkdkkdksks i mean it makes sense in german but idk if it makes sense to you cause idk if i‘m explaining it very well lmao,

I used to watch all of my series in German (like H2O) bc obviously they were on german tv so they were german- and i knew that most of these actors i saw on tv were american and i was always SO fascinated that they all learned german for this show???
