I have a HC that Stan knows how to cook and I'm not talking basic easy to make meals either. That man knows how to make complicated recipes that would make a professional chef weep in frustration. He just doesn't make them because they're complicated and have lots of prep work to be done

BUT

Whenever Ford is really ill. I mean to the point that he's not getting out of bed or forcing himself to work through the sickness till the point Stan has to step in and strap him to the bed. Just lethargic as hell, Stan will go above and beyond to make a buffet of food he knows his brother would like. Even making nutritional meals that would fill Ford's belly and get some subsistence in him.

I imagine Ford to be someone that won't drink or eat when he's sick, so Stan will bring the food to their bedroom, coddle Ford into a blanket cocoon and spoon feed him until Ford can't take anymore.

first of all, thank you!!

second, okay i had to really think about which story i wanted to do bc i love all my stories but i really wanna talk about Not Dating but More Than Friends (it’s the first story i ever posted on ao3 and i have Feelings about it so time to share them)

that story was inspired by me realizing john and rodney’s relationship is very similar in many ways to my actual relationship. i’m in a very unconventional relationship and most people who look at us just say we’re dating and too scared/stupid to put the actual label on it (which is not the case). i think john and rodney have a very similar relationship in the show in the sense that it’s not a traditional or typical relationship in most aspects.

they bicker like an old married couple, and play like best friends, and tease each other like brothers. they have gotten into the stupidest of arguments, and actual serious arguments, and they’ve committed war crimes and rewrote time for each other. nothing about john and rodney is a typical relationship or something that can be define by a simple title. as much as i love and ship mcshep, i think that their relationship is a lot more complex to just reduce them to boyfriends

i really like the dynamic i wrote between them in that fic and the way they have their own secret thing to themselves. i think it’s a really fun way to look at their relationship

Zmarqa is one of my absolute favorite Hualian artists that I found on Twitter and this is just a taste of some of her more recent work.

She writes and draws her own comics of AUs involving them that have so much thought put into them. Her pieces in general are so detailed and you're almost always rewarded for taking the time to really look at them.

Since she's not active here on Tumblr, I would highly recommend following her on Twitter (zmarqa), Twitch (Zmarqaa), or, if you have the spare funds, Patreon (Zmarqa). Her Patreon Discord is full of great folks and she pretty frequently streams on there for patrons, so it is well worth the cost.

one thing I will say about dick grayson’s canonically like, potentially Olympic level gymnastic capabilities, is he truly never could’ve pursued either that or being a professional trapeze artist without quitting his vigilante life. like it’s fun to joke about but also if he kept on being nightwing while making athleticism like that his job, especially given the kinds of injuries he gets, it would’ve absolutely destroyed his body so thoroughly even the plausible deniability of comics couldn’t save him. dick can’t even make a living out of one of his passions, one of the things he’s best at, the legacy his parents left him, bc of what being a vigilante demands of him. are you picking up what I’m putting down. the things being a vigilante takes from him, the doors it closes, are so numerous and diffuse that it’s easy to lose track of them all, forget they’re even closed at all, forget the way it shapes him. grabbing your shoulders Do You Get It????

I know I’m not the first or the last person to say this but: uuuh you’re literally the only reason I was able to get an MCAS diagnosis after having this *mystery illness* for my entire life and the past few years having it kick up to 11 and almost dying so many times now all while forgetting how to feel like a person so much that my second dose of cromolyn felt like I woke up from the Long Sleep.

The way the game presents Tevinter (no mentions of slavery or racism, compared favorable to the south, only bad people are venatory) or Antivan Crows (presented as a cute found family who rebel against their oppressors, again no mentions of slavery, abuse, murder of innocent) is disastrous. Remember we had two companions who were victims to those institutions? Does Zevran's or Fenris' stores mean nothing now? Bioware took stories of two non-white companions who were abused and enslaved and then made their abusers into wholesome and friendly entities.

The are honestly plenty of other examples of DAV doing it but it's a bit long to summarize.

one of the things that continues to strike me on reread is how much the character of Darcy, and Austen through him, finds Mr. Bennet dead. And how much Elizabeth, in growing and changing and discarding her past blindness, has to move past her way of seeing her father and thus of seeing reality, because the two are connected! Darcy’s letter exposes her father’s flaws to Elizabeth in a way she’d never been able to see before. Most especially the way his laziness and neglect of his own gifts have hurt his family and that ultimately he doesn’t. care. Not enough to change. It literally says that she comes home from Hunsford and tries to laugh at her sisters’ and mother’s folly (the way she used to; the way her father has taught her to by example for her whole life) and she can’t anymore! It sticks in her throat. She is grieved by the failures that she sees in him, all the more so because she IS his favorite and she loves him! And the thing about Mr. Bennet is he never changes. The Lydia/wickham situation exposes to him sharply his own conduct and the consequences and he feels it! Because he is neither stupid nor unfeeling. But he, like everyone, has free will. And he chooses not to change when the opportunity presents itself. He even jokes about how quickly his feeling bad will pass and how soon everything will go back to normal, to his laziness and his selfishness. He is set in his ways and he serves as a contrast to Elizabeth’s personal journey because he embodies a version of a person she could have become and was in danger of becoming if her only goal at all times was to laugh at and judge people from the sidelines.
