so, just in case you aren’t aware? Kenny & Alex meet on Kenny’s firstttt day in Pelican Town. Alex goes to Kenny’s house with Haley to drop off some gifts from Evelyn. blah blah blah, whatever

Kenny’s first impression of Alex was… Unimpressive? Unimportant? Sorry, I’m running on very little sleep and idk what the right word is rn 😭 He didn’t think anything specifically of who Alex was as an individual apart from the fact that he was cute, physically. But Kenny’s not really a love-at-first-sight kinda guy, PLUS like . the Gay Thing. So it was just “Ok, Alex is nice, and he has a nice face” and that’s kinda it. it was a very surface-level interaction, yk?

HOWEVER. I would argue that Kenny’s true “first impression” of Alex was actually the SIXTH!!! time they met — At Haley’s birthday party. before then, Kenny was like “ok he’s just a prettyboy jock, nothin’ too crazy”but it was at Haley’s party that kenny ended up in the realm of“hmmm. this guy is Interesting…”

Not in a “i’m in love with him” way, but in a “this guy obviously has some depth and i’m interested in finding out more”. Alex struck him as sweet, emotional - Perhaps a little anxious? Kenny loves to do a motherly “caring for other people” thing, so the fact that he kinda had the opportunity to do that for Alex dragged him in. But also, Abby was very obviously planting seeds of romantic attraction between them 😭 Kenny just couldn’t see it yet.

it’s not very often that Kenny initiates conversation or friendship on his own terms. usually people just adopt him (see: Abby). but when someone shows any hint of emotional baggage ???? he’s SOLD

Alex’s first impression of Kenny was something along the lines of, “oh no”

😭😭😭 LMFAO please, that sounds like a joke or an over exaggeration but. Alex, at that point, was very aware of the complications regarding his sexuality, and had been very actively pushing it all away for a loooong time. Alex’s first impression of Kenny was somewhat similar to Kenny’s of him, with the added extra of repressed gay panic, because Alex, unfortunately, very much IS a love-at-first-sight kinda guy, i fear…💀

Alex’s real “first impression” would have been the second time he met Kenny. Dude. Kenny gave him a bottle of water and from that moment onwards, Alex was like 🥺💧🥺❤️💧🥺🥺💧💧❤️🥺❤️💧💧🥺❤️🥺❤️💧🥺❤️ (MEGA REPRESSED MODE)
