I just recently started following you so i don't have the full lore of your murderous gay religiously traumatized doggos, BUT, from my understanding, they are Italian and i don't know what part of Italy they are from, yet i can't help headcanoning Vasco as Tuscan, while Machete is probably from some part of Veneto. And as an Italian who has heard Tuscans and Veneto dialet, well it's an hilarious mental image.
Vasco is indeed Tuscan, Florentine to be specific. He comes from a wealthy and influential noble family that has lived in Florence for centuries. He's proud of his roots, and it's usually easy for strangers to tell where he's from. He's a resonably successful politician and has worked as an ambassador and representative of Florence on numerous occasions.
Machete is originally Sicilian (ironically about as far from Veneto as possible), although he was taken to mainland at young age and has lived in several places since then, before ending up in Rome. The way I see it, he exhibits very little local color, his demeanor and (even though Italian hadn't become a standardized language yet) way of speaking are formal, neutral and scarcely give away any hints about his personal history, at least in the 16th century canon.
#I tend to take the easy way out with the various Italian dialects/languages and temper their effect on how the dog world works#even though to my understanding in reality they differ drastically from each other even today and they aren't always mutually intelligible#especially when you compare northern and southern ones#I know at least Sicilian is so different from modern day Italian it's considered a separate language entirely#it isn't the only one but I'm not a linguist and not even Italian so I'm not really qualified to be explaining any of this to you#main point is that my dogs are well traveled educated and adaptable so I'd like to believe that they manage#otherwise making this whole scenario work would become very complicated#language barriers aplenty#Machete is a fast learner with a natural knack for languages so he absorbs/decodes new ones easily#and I can see him acting as an interpreter if necessary#which is a valuable trait for someone working as the secretary of state I'd imagine#a lot of people he ends up dealing with speak at least passable Latin so at a pinch they might perhaps try switching to that?#Vasco might have a Tuscan flavor but Machete is more of a blank slate (at least in public and at work)#answered#fallenoftheromaempire#feel free to correct me if I've gotten something wrong I'm not an expert and this stuff is complicated for an outsider

related ramble: genuinely if the part of decked out that appeals to you is "incremental progress in which the players must learn the map bit by little bit and also understand when to turn around and bail to learn more of the map later in another run", you don't mind games that are hard, and you like rpgs. please play etrian odyssey. please they're such good games and no one ever talks about them. please,
#they're largely ds and 3ds games HOWEVER the first 3 were remastered for switch! making them EVEN MORE ACCESSIBLE!#i will warn you the games are slightly notoriously punishing but the recent remasters DO add difficulty settings#which means you can avoid some of the more notoriously punishing aspects#AND THE ART STYLE IS SO GOOD. AND THE /MUSIC/#the aesthetics of etrian odyssey are some of my favorite video game aesthetics they're so NICE#so i am now using my 10k followers to try to convince One Other Person to play my pet rpg series.#my one warning is that if you play rpgs for the story. etrian odyssey expects you to make up a lot of the characters in your head#and tells you the bare bones of a story in second person#which isn't to say that's BAD; it's really good i get attached to my party of five ocs really fast#it's just if you're used to jrpgs you WILL go in and go 'wehre. is the plot.'#its there! the games just expect you to make up much of it! and it's great!#my point is: if you're going 'huh i might like dungeon crawlers' CHECK THEM OUT

Personally I think a lot of opinions about which Monster Hunter games are "good" and which are "bad" just comes from people failing to recognize that Monster Hunter has two different mainline lineages going at this point, each of which are supposed to emphasize different aspects of the series and create a more distinct experience between them to make it more worth experiencing both. And some people won't like both lines! That's ok! It doesn't mean they're bad, it just means the style of that line isn't for you.
#personally i view their decision to make the portable and console lines more distinct is a good one and lines up with their other recent#choices for the game#i think that limiting themselves by only letting their console releases be as good as they can translate to handheld#would be a bad choice#so i like that theyve gone in the direction where they take advantage of consoles to their full potential to really focus on the#ecological aspects of the game and create really expansive detailed worlds#meanwhile they use the portable for more classic monhun graphics and seem to be emphasizing#creative. fast paced. and personalized combat in portable#and i think in doing so they've created a fantastic system for keeping their fans as happy as possible#rather than using the old method of portable being the same as console with some tweaks#and this lines up with their switch from doing g-rank expansions as whole new games#to dlc expansions#but yeah i think ultimately we're only going to be able to compare portable and console releases so much#because its clear they're going for very different things with them#and i think this decision is best for fans because we get the best of both worlds#console fans get what they want. portable fans get what they want. and neither line has to be beholden to what the other#is doing yknow?#monster hunter

I am vending at a gaming/anime/fandom convention in Nov. and I have to create a bunch of sticker designs for the event!! I need to make sure I can order them in time T-T
I'm trying to do a play on "God's Favorite" for BG3; the gold color on Shar's will be gold foil hot stamped and the white on Selune's will all be silver foil hot stamped. I'm trying to think of others to do? I'm thinking of Vlaakith and maybe Mizora and Raphel?
I am doing a bunch of Sanrio characters in metal logos, I have Cinnamoroll, Keroppi, and Pochacco on my to-do list. They'll all have a glitter finish on top when they are printed!

Just when I think the day's going well, I crash a golf cart
#summer camp tag#ace is a mess#i do not have a drivers license and i havent even been behind the wheel in like 4 years since i stopped lessons cus of the pandemic#the day was going fine i got loads done didnt feel like i was irritating my director too bad#doing some paperwork for her and she says when im done well take the golf cart out while its not currently raining#im like ooh fun never been in a golf cart before i see the higher up staff in them im not gonna say no to chilling in a golf cart#i did not realise that meant i would be driving esp when she asked if id been in one before and i said no#she then asked if i could drive and i said not really thought that would be it#cus i was supposed to be studying for my theory before working towards my practical#but no she insists im driving and first off i gotta reverse outta this bay now at least i didnt have to think about gears#but i hate tryna figure out how to turn whilst in reverse in mess with my brain im not great with shape visualisation#we do all our stops its fine for the most part a lil too fast going down some of the hills#and some tight turns but my turns were always like that cus im too busy focusing on the most immediate thing#we get back i park fine and then shes like oh actually there are some more stops we can make so i reverse and turn back out#do our two stops with only minimal confusion about direction then as i go to park into the bay we came from#shes like oh actually park in the bay closest to the health centre and what i should have done was reversed and adjusted my angle#instead i drove directly into the supporting beam separating the two bays 🙃😭#i immediately turn the cart off and expect her to switch with me instead shes like laughing it off oh it was just a little bump it was fine#im like it was not that was a loud ass bang i feel so bad and then she lifts up the light cover i broke off saying its just a scratch#and i feel worse so pf course thats when the camp director comes out to check on the noise and i dont think ive ever worn a guiltier look#but theyre both laughing it off oh just having a little driving lesson :) and i am mortified#she gets back in the cart and shes still insisting that its fine and i should still park after that which i do with great trepidation#but there are no more problems and the lights still work but the cover does need fixing and i just oh my god#ive never crashed before never clipped or scratched a car so of course id crash the golf cart trying to park of all things 😭

#anyways hi my migraines get so bad half my body goes numb and every time i move my head too fast the next day it throbs#best way i can describe the day after headace is like. if you've ever had covid and you got that really bad headache???#and like every time you'd move your head you'd have to like wait for a second cause it was fucking THROBBING??#that's the day after headache i usually get sometimes it isn't THAT bad but sometimes it is#and i guess hemiplegic migraine is like#what if you have Migraine boss mode and it felt like someone swung a baseball bat at your head so hard you were experiencing stroke symptom#teehee! ❤️#i am NOT exaggerating one time i made the mistake of trying to sleep off a hemiplegic migraine after playing animal crossing at like 4am#cause screen bad for migraine but ot already sucks so i can be miserable or miserable a d playing animal crossing lmfao cnxncnxncnddf#and ANYWAYS i had a nightmare timmy and tommy were beating my head in with a baseball bat lmfao like you cannot sleep that shit off#it will follow you and it will hurt!#Anyway here is Mimi's super cool guide to a hemiplegic migraine: Take more ibuprofen that is comfortable (my max is 4)#drink a LOT of water cause hydration helps with migraines. lay down in a dark room and throw on a video essay you can half pay attention to#you aren't gonna be able to fall asleep but close your eyes and just focus on that.
