As I write my original works with my research tabs open and ready for reference once again I realize - good God I overdid it again. Hummmmm
Oh well - hello random government agent assigned to my search history - I am so very sorry you got the shortest straw.
Bugs aren't *that* scary 😂
Huh, maybe my own phobia will get better the more I purposely scare myself with these things - you never knowwwwww.
In all seriousness : Do not look at my search history if you are insect phobic right now.
Buzz.
NOTE: Ladybugs are assholes
Excerpt of CHaSM: Book 1 - "Here we go again"
****
Evelyn didn't say much usually, truth be told the woman barely spoke at all, choosing only to at times catch the eyes of her female companion and from that quiet interaction apparently an entire conversation was to be had with eyebrows and varying sizes of pupils and twitches of the mouth. Ah, one of theseb- right Adam would just have to give them privacy then and focus on someone else.
It was rude to "eavesdrop" after all....even if Evie - err Evelyn did seem a bit...flustered?
Hm, interesting, that wasn't a - oh my god why me go away(!)- flustered either - Adam was err... unfortunately ( or fortunately) quite familiar with the latter.
Zari nodded sagely just then, with an affirmative, mmhm, before her own dark eyes flitted over to him and - aw shit he was caught- that little nurse with a bite was going to chew him out later and fuck man, when Zari was pissed at you it was just like being scolded by both your fifth grade teacher and a damn drill sergeant.
Ugh, his life was going to be hell. Kyle threw him a sympathetic glance but also made no moves to rescue Adam from his predicament.
Traitor.
See if Adam smoothed over the next couples spat when Collin vents to him on patrol later.
Footsteps interrupted him and a shadow loomed and...oh.
That would do it.
"Mr. Caputo I presume? I hear you were part of the security detail last night- can you tell me how a restricted area was left open for a civilian to wander in?" Crisp. Polite.
But seething .
Second Class Science officer Noah Harrison* stared down on Adam like a gnat he was about to crush in his fingers and the developing black and blue splosh around his right eye probably didn't help Adam's case.
Noah...had always kind of been a bit of a... Peacock honestly. He was not going to like the fact his face was "blemished" because Adam had been well... A moron.
(again)
So being the man with common sense ( no really he was - don't listen to the haters ) - he gave the officer a smart salute.
"yes sir - I have absolutely no idea what happened I was on the midnight shift I had only just clocked in two minutes before the incident occurred therefore this is not my fault - sir!" He beamed.
Not a hundred percent a lie...
But not enough to fool this particular science officer because oh had that eyebrow had begun to twitch.
"Sir." Both men paused, Noah especially seemed to stiffen at Evie's approach. "It really wasn't his fault, I got turned around, this place is huge, I haven't gotten my bearings yet." She hugged her arm, still bandaged. "Adam was just trying to help me get back." "
Noah frowned more, "And why, Miss Noire were you even out at that hour?"
"Because I prefer the night. It's quiet. Sorry it won't happen again, just don't chew Adam out he didn't do anything wrong, the door was already open when he found me anyway."
"You're sure?"
"Do I look like the type to go poking around restricted areas for fun?" She countered.
"...no." Noah mumbled before puffing his shoulders, "Regardless, Miss Noire- I have to ask that you stay away from restricted areas from now on, they are...off limits for a reason!"
"Well maybe whoever designed this glorified sardine can should have thought of that before putting a door so close to the damm library!"
"Gee you think." Adam muttered but he was ignored. Rude but story of his life.
The standoff was on and all the setting needed was a piece of tumbleweed to drift past the two of them as they continued just glaring at each other.
Then again, he also didn't exist at the moment, oh no the whole world had melted away, leaving nothing but the young woman currently glaring at Noah Harrison* with that frigid "Evie" stare that had clearly frozen the man in place.
"You...have a point." The officer finally mumbled again before clearing his throat. "Right well... Mr. Caputo while your methods were unorthodox they got the job done so I won't be telling the Captain about this."
Adam jumped, "Wait you're not?!"
"I don't see a reason to, it was a close call but it was also entirely at the fault of the ship and whoever was last down there, they didn't follow safety protocol." He scowled. "Which I will take care of right now, excuse me." His voice lowered and Adam felt the hairs at the back of his neck stand up though the firm grip on his arm kept him from tumbling down like a dope though, at least he could be petrified with dignity. Huh for being a terrifying stick in the mud at least Noah wasn't a jerk. Good to know.
Satisfied Adam wasn't going to end up up a sad puddle on the ground Noah turned to Evie now.
"Miss Noire, I'm glad to see you unhurt." He murmured. "But next time you find you've lost your way around the sardine can... Come find me instead. Unlike Mr. Caputo, I have a sense of direction." He nodded in her direction before turning on his heel and just striding away.
Okay never mind he's still a jackass.
Didn't matter though, oh Adam saw that pretty clearly in that moment.
And tch...
Here we go again...

Rely on You✖️JJ Maybank✖️
word count: 1573
warnings: mentions of alcohol and drugs, death/loss
JJ Maybank x Reader; JJ Maybank x John B’s sister
Everyone in my family has left me at some point. My mother ditched us for Colorado when my brother and I were only three years old. John B took that pretty, hard but I knew we were better off without her. Caring for her children wasn’t really a strength of hers anyways, so we barely talk about her now.
Then our dad went away to find the lost gold on the Royal Merchant and never came back. This time the loss of a parent broke me. I didn’t dare hope that he was just stranded somewhere, slurping on a coconut and waiting until someone comes to get him and although his body never was found, John B and I silently agreed on moving on. Accepting that your dad died isn’t the easiest thing for two teenagers to do. So I tried to lose myself in school stuff and John B took over our household. I think it was just his way of coping with the situation, but it became annoying pretty quickly. Every time our friends came over, it seemed like he was trying to prove that he was taking care of me.
And then he died. Or at least we all thought he and Sarah did. But turns out they were alive the whole time and now everything can go back to normal. But losing almost everyone that you have learned to rely on hurts you in a way that cannot be undone.
I was gripping the red plastic cup tightly as I tried to make my way through the dancing and drinking crowd. My eyes were moving rapidly over every face nearby, searching for my brother’s hazel eyes and curly brown hair. But I didn’t see him. So I pushed further into the mass of people until I passed a group of Kooks, standing on the edge of the boneyards, seeming to be staring at a girl dancing her heart out only a couple of feet away. I usually would’ve said something to them but I just walked by, my breathing becoming quicker as I whispered John B’s name over and over again.
When I felt a strong hand grab my shoulder, I turned around in a quick motion.
“John B?” I said before I looked into clear blue eyes.
“No, Y/N. He left about five minutes ago with Sarah. They’re fine.” JJ’s voice was calm but his look was drenched with worry and his grip didn’t loosen up as my breathing slowed down a bit.
“Sorry, J. I…I just didn’t know where he was. I was…I am sorry.” I felt a small tear of relief roll down my cheek as the panic started to die down and JJ moved to put a strand of my dark brown hair behind my ear.
“It’s okay. No need to apologize, smarty. We’ll go home yeah? I’ll get Kie and Pope.” I could hear a slight slur in his words, probably coming from more than just a couple of beers. Other than that he sounded tired and I knew that was my fault.
“No, J. I can get home by myself. Let them enjoy themselves, I don’t want to ruin the whole evening.” I put the empty cup on a rock wall next to me and straightened out my white summer dress. JJ looked me up and down once and then shook his head. I knew he wasn’t going to let me walk home alone after that panic attack.
“I’ll tell Pope that we’re going home. Meet you at the truck.” And before I could argue once more, JJ was already on his way over to our friends who were chatting with some other Pogues that I had seen before at school. So I went back into the crowd and saw that one of the Kooks from earlier was now dancing with that one girl and his friends weren’t staring anymore but looking around for something or better someone else to watch. I made my way over to my old truck, dodging several elbows and spilling drinks, while thinking about all the other times the panic had taken a hold of me and JJ had been there to help me.
Our friendship used to be very easy, I would say. We met through John B in third grade and have been inseparable ever since then. With the others we would go surfing almost every day but when it came to talking about serious matters, JJ and I usually kept to ourselves. Occasionally I had noticed the forming bruises on his cheeks or ribs whenever he came back from his house, but he always said it was nothing or an accident and I didn’t pressure him into telling me more, although I made it a point to come with him to his house as often as I could, so his dad wouldn’t get a chance to touch JJ.
And in return JJ didn’t ask about my nightmares that would wake me up every night after we thought John B and Sarah died. He’d move closer to me on the mattresses that we put into the living room for us four to sleep on. Kie and Pope mostly slept at their houses though, which was good, because then I didn’t have to explain myself to even more people. The problem is, that even after my brother and Sarah came back, the nightmares didn’t stop and I started having panic attacks when I felt like I lost them again. Just like at the party. And since JJ was the only person who knew about that, he felt obligated to take care of me.
This is pretty far away from us calling each other smarty and pretty boy, reducing each other to what people mostly noticed about us and never talking about anything besides parties, surfing and how many grams of weed we would need to get for the next tour on the HMS Pogue.
I grabbed a hoodie from the passenger seat of my truck and closed the door again when I heard footsteps approaching.
“You know I am fine. No need to deprive all these pretty girls from their favorite pretty boy.” I said in a mocking but tired tone whilst nodding my head towards the dancing crowd. JJ was now standing next to me, smiling.
“They can wait ‘till the next party. Let’s go home.” He held out his arm for me to loop mine around and then we started walking through the Cut. This kind of intimacy between us had become normal, but it never seemed to be anything besides friendship and we were both grateful for that. The summer air was cold on my legs and small goosebumps started to form on my skin.
“You really need to wear more… I don’t know, fabric I guess.”
“You sound like my dad. Or worse, like John B.” A small laugh escaped his lips as we made our way further along the street, arms still intertwined.
“I think you should talk to him about your nightmares.”
“And I think you should tell your dad he can rot in hell.” He let go of me and put a little distance between us.
“Damn, Y/N, I get it. Don’t talk to John B then.” It always came to this. Both of us telling the other what to do and to confront their problems, but we couldn’t do it and then we would get pissed off at each other, but that’s just the way our friendship worked.
We got to John B and I’s house a couple minutes later, which we had spent in silence. I opened the door and went straight towards John B’s room. The light was turned off already and I saw him and Sarah sleep peacefully. That’s when my heart beat finally went completely back to normal. When I stepped into the living room I saw JJ sprawled across one of the big mattresses. He was still wearing his clothes but that didn’t seem to matter to him.
“I’m going to sleep in my room today, J.”
He mumbled a quiet “ok” and turned his back towards me as I stepped past him.
I was standing on the beach and watched John B and my dad go into the waves on a small boat. Then thunder started and the heavy rain made it hard to see anything out on the ocean. There was lightning and then suddenly the sound of the thunderstorm stopped as I saw the lightning hit the boat that my family was on. Then they were just gone.
I woke up, breathing heavily with sweat on my forehead. My room was dark but I could hear quiet steps coming towards my bed. I scooted over to the side and started to relax as JJ planted himself next to me, still fully clothed. I laid back down and closed my eyes as the boy next to me but his arm over my side and started to calmly breathe onto my neck. This is something that has happened a lot the past two months. Always the same dream, the same horror in which I woke up and then JJ being there and helping me back to sleep just by getting closer. But this scared me. How can I let myself rely on him when everything that causes me pain comes from the people that I am closest to disappearing, getting hurt or leaving?
✖️Soo, I usually don’t write but I just wanted to try it. I know this is not a complete story or whatever and it’s kind of all over the place, but if you guys like it, then I might rewrite it or add more:)

DIABOLIK LOVERS MORE BLOOD Vol.2: Mukami Kou [Track 1+2]
Original title: 目隠しされて & 無神コウ
Source: Diabolik Lovers More, Blood Vol. 2: Mukami Kou [CD not owned by me]
Audio: Here (00:00~14:03)
Seiyuu: Kimura Ryouhei
Translator’s note: Continuing my marathon of MB CDs, everyone’s favorite idol Kou-kun is up next! I’m not a huge Kou fan myself, but he’s the main bias of my best friend so I’m always reminded of her when I translate his CDs. :p I used to find his voice quite annoying in the past, but in this CD, it didn’t bother me too much.

Track 1: Blindfolded
“...Hey!”
*Creaaak*
“Hey, you...!”
*Creaaak*
“Are you listening?”
*Rustle rustle*
“Say, say...~”
*Rustle rustle*
[00:15] “...Ah! Seems like you finally woke up! Ahー Thank god! You just kept on snoozing forever, for a second I thought you’d never wake up again!”
You look around, seeming confused.
“Eh? You want to know where you are...? Eeh...~ How cruel! You don’t recall? ーー Everything that happened before getting here, I mean.”
You flinch.
“Ahaha~ Seems like you remembered, huh? Exactly. I kidnapped you here~”
You ask him why.
[00:52] “...’Why’? You’ve been asking an awful lot of questions this whole time, haven’t you? Oh well, I guess it can’t be helped. After all, you’re currently stuck in pitch-black darkness. I guess it makes sense to grow anxious or scared...Fufufu~ But rest assured.”
*Rustle*
“I’ll explain the whole situation step by step, okay? First and foremost, you’re currently blindfolded, lying on top of my - Mukami Kou-kun’sーー
*Rustle*
ーー bed, you see~”
*Rustle rustle*
[01:31] “As for why I kidnapped you. Hmー There’s a few, but one of them would be because you’re a special human. ...Fufu~ Do you know what that means? It basically implies that you’re in a different league from just any other regular human out there. You might not be aware of it yourself, but to our species, your existence stands out as extraordinary.”
*Rustle*
“Actually, you know that already, don’t you? You’re being kept as a pet over at the Sakamaki manor after all.”
You protest.
“...Eh? You’re not being ‘kept’? Ah, sorry, sorry! I didn’t quite put it right, did I? I take back my words. More accurately, you’re their...prey, aren’t you?”
He pins you down.
*Thud*
[02:23] “Fufu...Ahahaha~ No need to look so dissatisfied. It’s the truth, isn’t it? Besides, that’s the second reason which made me interested in you so I dare argue it’s a good thing?”
*Creaaak*
“Hm? You want to know who I am? Didn’t I name myself earlier? You’ve got such bad memory.”
You shake your head.
[02:51] “Ah...That’s not what you meant? Ahー Gotcha. Hm...Can I spill the beans already? But I feel like Ruki-kun will give me an earful if I do and he’s a pain to deal with when he’s upset. ...Let’s see...~ Fufu...~ I’ll tell you when I feel like it, okay?”
*Creaaak*
“Anyway, I gave you an answer to your questions so happy now? More importantly, I want to know about you first. All sorts of things...~”
*Rustle*
[03:32] “We actually managed to get a hold of their weakness, so just like Ruki-kun is always saying, I should get an idea of what I’m dealing with. So to start off, I better do a little investigating to find out what exactly makes you so special...~”
*Rustle rustle*
“Fufu~ You’re shaking...My touch is still foreign to you, isn’t it? No need to be so scared though. I’m a nice guy after all.”
He pulls you close.
[04:04] “Here, I’ll stroke your head for you. ...Good girl, good girl...So stop trembling, okay?”
*Rustle*
“Hm...You’re more alert than I thought. Fufu~ You’re letting them have their way with you despite that?”
You protest again.
[04:28] “How odd...Or perhaps you’re simply feigning this cautious attitude? In that case, you’re one hell of a naughty kitten~ They say that a skillful hunter gets a kick out of going after highly alert prey and honestly, I think I may understand where they’re coming from. It’s boring when something is too easy to get. ーー I can already get my hands on pretty much everything I want through my job after all.”
*Rustle*
“...Ah! But I don’t really like how I’m implying those guys are skilled by saying that. What do you think? As the one they’re hunting for, how do you feel about them?”
You remain quiet.
[05:17] “Heeey~ Aren’t you going to answer? Giving me the silent treatment is a little mean, don’t you think? Hmー I guess it’s a little difficult of a question to start off with. In that case, let me ask you an easy one. Ah, right! How about this? ーー Does it really feel good to have them suck your blood? You know, does it make you feel like you’ve ascended to another world? Like your body is just floating mid-air~”
*Rustle*
“...No answer once again? You really are dull, geez. What will get you to talk? Should I ask you about your favorite spots? Or perhaps you really don’t care about those guys at all?”
*Rustle*
[06:12] “Ahー I’m kind of fed up with this already. I’m out here trying my best to be nice and all I get in return is the cold shoulder. What are you playing at?”
You explain.
“...You can’t say those things to someone you’ve only just met? Heh~ I see...That makes sense now that you mention it. In that case, I suppose I have to introduce myself first.”
Track 2: Mukami Kou
He removes the blindfold.
*Rustle*
“Here. Take a cloooose look at my face. I removed your blindfold as well. See? I’m this close to you. Our lips could almost touch.”
You look straight at him.
[00:19] “...Fufu~ Can you see me? I guess I should say ‘nice to meet you’? I’m sorry for suddenly abducting you like that earlier~ However, it would have been difficult to take you away otherwise. I guess you could say it was the optimal timing? It really was my one chance.
...Say, are you the type who doesn’t watch television very often? Well, I guess you don’t strike me as a girl who would.”
You tilt your head to the side.
“Ah, no, I’m just talking to myself. I just figured that you’d probably recognize me if you watched TV every now and then. Not that it matters though.”
*Rustle*
[00:57] “But really, things went surprisingly well if I may say so myself. I’m sure those guys are frantically looking around for you right about now. After all, their precious little treat was snatched away from right underneath their nose, haha~! Fufu...Ahahaha! Just remembering those foolish expressions on their faces makes me laugh.”
*Rustle rustle*
“And I’m going to dig into their precious meal soon...Haah...Somehow just being this close to you makes my breath hitch.”
*Rustle*
“Is this what you’re capable of? Say, how come you’re this delicious?”
*Sniff sniff*
“...You smell amazing. What kind of scent is this? Hm...~”
Kou takes a deep breath.
[01:55] “I can’t get enough of it...I wonder where it’s coming from?”
*Sniff sniff*
“Not here...”
*Rustle*
“Then here maybe?”
*Sniff*
“I can’t quite tell through your clothes...”
*Rustle rustle*
“Why not take them off? It’s not like you need them, do you? ...Come on, hurry. The scent on the fabric is throwing me off.”
*Rustle*
“Come on, go ahead!”
You hesitate.
[02:29] “...Hurry up, will you? You might not guess it, but I’m not the most patient guy around. If you refuse to take them off yourself...You’re not going to have a good time.”
You refuse.
“...Tsk. Ahー What a fucking drag! Do you think I’m a joke or something? Do you have any idea what’ll happen if you oppose me like that?”
*Creaaak*
“Ugh...”
*Thud*
“I’ve gotten a little irritated you see. And once that happens, everything starts to annoy me. So that look you’re giving me...Ahaha...It pisses me off.”
*Rustle*
[03:12] “...I’m going to gauge out those eyes of yours, for real. I happen to kind of like that sorta stuff.”
You start taking off your clothes.
“...Huh? You’re gonna strip? Ahー So you’ve chosen to obey? How boring. I just had so many good ideas of things to do to you.”
*Rustle rustle*
“Anyway, if you’re just gonna bend to someone’s will in the end anyway, wouldn’t it be better to simply listen from the very start? Or did you want me to snap at you?”
You shake your head.
“Ah, I see! Right! You’re that kind of girl, aren’t you? You wanted me to lose my temper...so I’d treat you horribly, right? Fufu~ What an M-neko-chan you are~”
You seem confused by the nickname.
[04:03] “Hm? You want to know what ‘M-neko’ means? Isn’t that obvious? You’re more stupid than I thought. The ‘M’ is the same one as in ‘Do-M’, duh! Masochists, you know? You’re the type of girl who gets a kick out of the pain, aren’t you?”
*Creaaak*
“With that kind of personality, I can understand why you’d enjoy spending time with those guys. We’re capable of pleasing you in ways a regular human never could after all. Fufu...~ Is it true the pain is addictive?”
You try and explain.
[04:45] “When you put it like that, I almost want to turn into a human girl for one day and have a bunch of Vampires feast upon my blood~ Well, of course, I much prefer being the one doing the sucking. ...Aah, I was told this as well. Apparently having your blood sucked feels like strong currents of electricity running through your entire body, is that true? How nice~ I’m envious~”
You frown.
“That being said, I’d rather not get bitten myself. I’d love to get a taste of that pleasure, but I’d rather die than let some other Vampire pierce me with his fangs. Heh~ ...Ah, oh no, I’ve been rambling...”
*Rustle*
[05:39] “Come on, take those clothes off. I’ll figure out where this delicious scent is coming from first. You’re hiding it underneath that dull (1) outfit of yours, aren’t you? ーー Your precious secret~”
You start to take off the rest of your clothes.
“Fufu...Exactly~ You’ve got to show me your meek side like that, or else I might just poke your eyes out~”
You tell him you’re done.
[06:08] “...Eh? You took them off? Now don’t be ridiculous. When I say ‘strip’, I obviously meant everything, right? You move your jacket to the side a little and call that ‘taking off your clothes’? Heeh...You really must be making fun of me, aren’t you? ...Listen, I hate being ridiculed more than anything...There are many girls in this world who would kill to be in this kind of situation with me, you know? Yet here you are, living that dream...”
*Rustle*
“Ah, right! You’re just pretending to be embarrassed but you’re actually happy, aren’t you?”
*Rustle*
“Oh! Or perhaps...You want me to rip you apart? I would never resort to such violent actions though. I mean, there’s nothing fun about tearing apart someone who won’t even scream from the pain, is there? Fufu...~”
ーー TO BE CONTINUED ーー

CHARACTERS/ READER: Akaashi Keiji x GN!Reader/ Shinsuke Kita x GN!Reader/ Rintarō Suna x GN!Reader
REQUEST: ❤🥺❤since your request are open can I please have a scenario (or headcannons if you prefer) with Akaashi, Kita and Suna (or Osamu) with an gender neutral s/o whose friends are very touching with them (not in a weird way) and one of their guy best friends likes holding their hand and kissing them on the cheek (partly to annoy the boys) and how the boys would react❤🥺❤ it can be angst but please may it end fluffy🙈🙈🙈(hope this isn't to much and I explained well🙈🥺❤) (Request by @aquariarose )
A/N: That requests sounds v specific 👀 I mixed it,,, like I made headcanons and then a small scenario with that :D
→ Masterlist
✫ ˚♡ ⋆。 ❀ HC + Scenario: S/O with a touchy bestie + their reaction
KEIJI AKAASHI
He knew that you and your best friend never meant it in a romantically way, and that you two were just friends who kinda liked to show affection through actions and not words
Honestly, at first Akaashi was more relaxed and didn’t get jealous quite often, he trusted you and knew that you loved him, maybe not more than your best friend, but loved him in a romantically way
Though as the days passed he slowly got tired of you two always being together and sometimes also just wished for some little more affection
Akaashi always knew that communication is the key to make a relationship as good as possible, though it can’t be perfect, some problems could be solved with talking about them so he begun the conversation one day
“I think it’s unfair that (Your bestfriend) gets more affection than me”
And let’s be honest, Akaashi telling you that he thinks that its unfair is probably the sweetest and best thing ever, because he was honest enough and didn’t just ignore you or got mad
He knew that it was not “Your fault” or that you didn’t mean to hurt him with these things. And since Akaashi is really observing he noticed quickly how your bestfriend only did these things to annoy him
In the end, he kind of got you to talk to your best friend about that and was glad once you two “Solved” those things between you. There was never a problem to begin with, but you two noticed that Akaashi always tensed up after seeing you holding hands with your friend or giving your friend a small kiss on their cheek
“Keiji, you are quite tensed and silent these days. Is something bothering you?”
Out of all questions you could’ve asked, you asked the question he expected the least from you. Nevertheless, the relief that took over his body after that question kind of put his mind at ease, leaving Akaashi quiet for a second to think of a proper answer that would satisfy you and himself. “I guess” the setter begun with a sigh, looking up to lock your eyes with his “I am kind of jealous that I get less kisses than your friend” His words managed to give your heart a small tug somewhere, leaving a trace of somewhere relief and somewhere also guilt behind. “Keiji you know that I only love you, but I promise to give you more affection and less to my friend, mh?” with wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing a small kiss on his cheek he slowly nodded in agreement. “Thanks for telling me” you added lovingly, making him smile a little. “I love you too” He replied while pressing a small kiss on your forehead
SHINSUKE KITA
I just know for some reason that this man will be insecure about himself after seeing you giving your best friend more affection than your boyfriend
He just feels like having done smth wrong. There is no particular reason why, and there is no evidence if he really did, after all nothing happened between you two, but I can see him overthinking this situation
His intentions aren’t to ignore you, but he somehow always just begins to drift off into his mind, his thoughts getting over him and his body, just deeply thinking about how he can apologize to you and straighten out his mistake
But little did he know that it was not his fault
You noticed him getting more thoughtful and dreamy over the time, which was kind of weird. Also did you notice that his words were chosen more carefully
But after thinking and thinking Kita gave up, since he couldn’t figure out what he had been doing wrong or saying wrong
“Y/N, if I did something wrong, tell me, alright?” It probably ringed in your head at this moment and you immediately knew about what was wrong with him
“Shinsuke, you are all fine. Is it because I give my best friend kisses and so on?”
Baby feels like crying because he really thought that he fucked up :((
“Yes kind of…”
“I am so sorry, I will tell them not to be that affectionate any more, okay?” he just silently nodded, trying to sort out his thoughts
After this conversation you two promised to not give others more affection than to each other and you also gave him lots of kissies and hugs afterwards
The silent between you two begun to kill you and him, almost like a flame without any oxygen. “Shinsuke” You finally spoke up, looking at the other side of the table where your boyfriend sat, quietly and collected. “Hm?” He asked confused, raising an eyebrow at you. “Something is up with you. Is there anything on your mind?” Kita could swear that all his thoughts got a big knot into his mind, leaving him rather quiet and confused behind. There was something on his mind, he was just a little scared to admit it. Slowly nodding, he looked at you. “I was scared that I did something wrong since you seem to like (your best friend) more than me…” he mumbled out quietly, making you feel bad. With getting up and patting his head after having reached him, you begun to assure him “No no, it’s not your fault. I am sorry about making you feel bad, but I promise that my friend if just very affectionate. If you want to, I can tell him to stop.” You offered, looking down at your boyfriend who only sat there, leaned into your touch and slowly nodding at your words. “I mean… You don’t have to. Knowing that I didn’t do something wrong is fine” He admitted, a small smile finally creeping over his lips. Your words really put him into easement
RINTARŌ SUNA
To be honest, I feel like he would be the most relaxed one about this all
Suna couldn’t bother more about affection and about your best friend. Not like he didn’t like you, it’s just that he is very very vERY observant and he gets things quickly
So when he sees that your best friend is actually a little more touchy and that it doesn’t make you uncomfortable he is absolutely fine with that
Like Suna is super chill about it but still sometimes makes sure that your best friend knows their place and kisses you here and there on your forehead or on your hand, glaring at your best friend before going back to whatever he had done before
Of course, sometimes he wishes also to get kisses here and there, but most of the time, he is okay with that all and just takes it the way it is
Though on bad days he really wishes to get some more affection and once he notices that you don’t give him anything he just gets pissed and a little cold towards you, he just never tells you what the matter is
Suna is not pissed at you, but at the fact that your best friend gets more physical love than he does
And once Suna is cold you can literally not get him to talk unless you find out the reason why he is pissed and apologize for that
Often you ask Osamu for advice and he immediately tells you though since he knows how hard Suna is sometimes
“sorry for giving my bestie more affection than you”
“Oh so you figured?” Suna was clearly a little upset but only played with you. “’is ok. I am not mad, I just wanted to hear you admitting that you are in the wrong” he playfully added
“He is just mad that you don’t give him enough affection sometimes. Not more. I am sure you two can talk that out”
That’s what Osamu had told you previously. After thinking and thinking, but never finding the answer you decided to ask Osamu what he had heard about Suna. Without that guy you would’ve been literally dead by now.
“Hey Rin~” You hummed, trying to gain your boyfriends attention. But he just stared at his phone screen, only giving you a small “Mh”. Unsatisfied with his answer you laid beside him, looking up at the rather lazy middle blocker. “I am sorry for not giving you enough love” His eyes peeked over to you, raising one eyebrow before he suddenly put his phone down and embraced you with his two long arms. “It’s ok. Can I get kisses now too?” He almost fell asleep while saying that. “Yes of course” A small chuckle left your lips, leaving kisses all over his face while he begun to fall asleep with you in his arms. Suna was an easy going guy, but sometimes he just needs some love here and there too. And that just proved your point.

Your heart starts beating so quick that it actually might jump out your chest, i have no idea why I even gave him attitude.
Was it because I know I’m gonna get a punishment, maybe because I really am craving for his touches and kisses, I want him to ruin me but i didn’t know how to tell him, well I definitely know now.
You reread the messages, you can’t help but to chuckle, I really sent a nude? He won’t know know I sent it on purpose anyways, right?
As funny as it sounds, you really were hoping he’d give you a punishment, it’s been almost a month since we’ve had s*x and I honestly don’t know how we survived.
‘I want you naked on the bed’ you read his message, might as well listen to him, I’d rather be on his good side.
You strip and lay on your stomach, the soft white sheets feeling so comfy. You suddenly remember the way he touches and kisses you, how he always makes sure I get pleasured, the thoughts of him making you squeeze your thighs together.
You can’t wait any longer, you just want him on top of you, thrusting into you, ruining your insides, you close your eyes feeling way too needy.
You hear a door slam close and flinch, he’s here. You hear his footsteps walking upstairs and feel shit scared.
You gulp and close your eyes a little hearing the door open, you feel his eyes checking you out, eye f*cking you. You slowly flutter your eyes open and immediately regret it, leaning against the closed door he stares at you with an unreadable look.
Is he angry? He can’t be, I only sent a nude... and gave him attitude, which I shouldn’t have but i can’t do anything about it now.
He starts walking towards you, you mentally curse at yourself for being really stupid. You look away from him, finding his gaze too intimidating.
“Sit up” you follow his order and sit up, still looking away from him. “Look at me” you look up at him and notice his slightly messy hair.
He leans closer to you so your faces are inches apart, he grabs your chin still looking into your eyes, “now, I want you to be completely honest with me, no lies” his eyes now locked on your lips, while his thumb caresses it.
You obediently nod “did you send that nude on purpose?” He asks you
Shit, should I lie? I probably shouldn’t but he won’t know it’s a lie anyway
“no..” you mumble quietly, your lips form a small small pout, you don’t dare to look at him knowing he would find out I’m lying.
“look at me.” he says sternly and this time a little angry, you look at him feeling vulnerable under his strong gaze.
“Again, did you send that nude on purpose?” You shake your head, unable to form words, he’s damn scary right now.
He chuckles and looks away, “use your words” he stops laughing, does he find this funny? You feel a little angry. “No I didn’t.” You say with a little attitude, which you instantly regret.
His hand which was placed on your chin wraps around your neck swiftly, “don’t f*cking give me attitude” his glare sends daggers at you making you feel helpless.
“S-sorry” you close your eyes and try gulping but his hold on you is blocking it.
“You better be” he lets go of your neck, you exhale deeply, you didn’t know you were holding a breath till now.
He stands back up and placed his hands on his pockets looking at you, you carefully look up at him feeling his eyes on you, it seems like he’s thinking.. but thinking of what?
After about a minute of him thinking he finally crouches down to your level, he looks pissed as hell, did I do something wrong?
“Wanna know something?” You decide to not question him and nod “yeah sure..” you say in a quiet voice “when you sent the nude, I had a meeting a few minutes later”
Shit, how did you forget, he told you yesterday that he had an important meeting, crap you messed up big time.
“I- uh..erm..” you avoid his glare which he notices, “I had to reschedule it last minute..” “I-I’m sorry I forg-“ “shut up, did I tell you that you can talk?” He grits his teeth and pokes his tongue on his cheek. (Why am I laughing? 🏃♀️😭)
“Unbuckle my belt now” you raise your hands and grip his leather belt, you unbuckle his belt and don’t dare to do anything else unless he tells me to.
“Go on” he motions for you to continue, you carefully unbutton his jeans and pull it down, along with his boxers, your thighs stick to eachother feeling wet down there.
He notices it and decides to tease you, he removes his upper clothing so he’s completely naked along with you.
He crouches down to your thigh area, so his face is positioned exactly where your pussy is, you feel his fingers travel up your thigh and spread them apart, you hold in your breath feeling even more wet.
His finger swipe across your clit and you let out a quiet gasp, he smirks and licks his finger clean, “so damn wet for me huh?” You look away feeling a little embarrassed.
“Answer me” “y-yes” “yes what?” “Erm.. master..yes master” you say in a hushed tone, “good now spread your legs wide for me” you don’t resist and spread your legs, “perfect” he whispers against your clit making you squirm a little.
He starts teasing you by swiping his tongue against your coochie (💀), you whine feeling impatient wanting him to just suck you clean, “m-master please..” you whisper, “keep begging” He says, you obey him not caring about anything but him.
“Please, just eat me out master..” he smirks and nods “hm.. enjoy” he flicks his tongue against your clit making your body jolt up in pleasure, he does that a few more times before he finally enters his tongue in you and starts sucking all your juices making you close your eyes and throw your head back enjoying it.
“Ahh.. I’m cumming” you moan out, but before you can cum he pulls away making you gasp “no why did you stop?” You whine, “you don’t tell me what to do and what not to do” he says in a cold stern voice making you shut your mouth completely.
You look down not wanting to look at him, “this is supposed to be a punishment remember that” you almost shit yourself at his cold voice, he stands up. “yes master” you mumble, “great now get on your knees”
You nod and do what he says, you’re faced with his thick cock that is leaking precum, your mouth waters at the sight, can he just f*ck me?
“open your mouth wide” as soon as you he immediately thrusts his cock into your mouth making you gag, he moans out and keeps thrusting into your mouth, your tongue wraps around his length and starts sucking, he grunts out “oh yeah.. suck harder you sl*t” you do as he says, he thrusts a couple more times feeling close, you feel him twitch in your mouth, knowing he’s close you raise your hands and start rubbing his length.
“Shit I’m cumming” he says before cumming a full whole load in your mouth, some even landing on your chin and chest, he pulls out and breathes heavily, he eyes your body feeling hard again, “f*ck, let’s go to the bed” he carries u to the bed while making out, at this point all he wants now is to just f*ck you hard.
He lays you down on the sheets and pull away from the kiss, he grips your thighs and spreads them open, he leans closer to you, and bites onto your earlobe, you feel his cock rub against your pussy and let out an airy moan, “no cumming until I say so, understand?”
Oh no, anything but this, you know for sure that you won’t be able to hold in your cum, shit your f*cked for sure. “But master-“ you get cut off when he slams his fingers into you deep. “I didn’t give you a f*cking choice” he glares you making you nod immediately “yes master..” you mumble.
you close your eyes feeling him move his fingers in you, he increases his pace making you moan in pleasure, feeling ecstatic.
“Oh yeah..” you moan out, “you’re enjoying this huh?” “Y-yes I am master, ahh.. go faster” you arch your back feeling close, he pulls out and smirks, you heave a sigh in irritation but quietly not wanting to make him angry.
“You’re not supposed to be enjoying this, so I’m gonna have to make this harder..” he opens the drawer and grabs a handcuff making you gulp for the thousandth time.
He raises your hands above your head and cuffs them to the headboard, he smirks feeling dominant, “now you know the rules, right?” You nod “yes master.. I do” “good girl, can you tell me the rules?” “Rule 1 don’t disrespect master, rule 2 no cumming until master says so, rule 3.. um ..” you curse mentally, how did I forget rule 3, shit.
“Go on” “I- um.. forgot master..” you mumble feeling your heart about to burst out of your chest, he stares at you for a few seconds before he sighs opening the drawer again and grabs a blindfold “rule 3 is to not let out a sound unless master allows you to” “I’m sorry master..” you mutter.
“That’s alright princess but I’m gonna need to teach you a lesson for forgetting rule 3, now.. do you remember rule 4?” You nod “rule 4 is to never touch myself unless master says so” “perfect, now I’m gonna blindfold you alright?” “But master I want to be able to see you..”
he slowly nods after a few seconds of silence “but you forgot rule 3 so no, you don’t have a choice. I want to hear you beg for me to remove the blindfold while I f*ck you hard” He says making you reply with a ‘yes master.’
He blindfolds you, making you suck in a deep breath as you heart beats rapidly, his hand trails from your thigh to your inner thigh making his knuckles rub against your entrance, you quietly gasp at the contact and unconsciously spread your legs, he smirks and starts leaving butterfly kisses on each thigh slowly creeping closer to your womanhood.
You whine impatient, “master..” you try moving your hands forgetting that it’s cuffed so it ends up clinking together, he gets up feeling so hard that the pain in unbearable, he swipes three fingers against your folds and kneads it on his cock making him let out a groan, he watches as your mouth hangs open and thighs massage together creating a wet sound, “f*ck”
He can’t hold back anymore, he grabs your thighs and spread them apart making you gasp as he thrusts in his d*ck, “ohhhh f*ck your so wet” He starts moving a little making sure your adjusted to his size, “master continue” you whine, he thrusts in once getting your confirmation.
He grunts and throws his head back, he lifts your legs and throws it over his shoulder, he grabs your hips and presses you into him making you both let out a moan of pleasure, “ughhh y-your making master feel so good baby..” he says breathlessly as he doesn’t stop pushing himself into you.
You hear his moans and groans making you even more wet for him, oh how bad you wanna remove this blindfold to see how he’s f*cking you, “m-master... please...” you while trying to catch your breath, “please what?” “Please.. t-take off m-my- OH F*CK MASTER” he hits your spot making you scream out, you hear him let out an airy chuckle “take off your?” He keeps hitting your g-spot making you lay there panting, he’s teasing you.
“Remove... my- ohhhh my god right there master.. oh I’m cumming!!” “No cumming until I say so you brat” he pulls out and thrusts back into you “oh m-my g-god.. master please.. I can’t..” you whisper the last part breathless.
“Save it” he says then flips you so your ass is sticking up, he thrusts back into you and hisses, “f*ck y-you’re so tight huh” you bite your lip the pleasure being so unbearable you might even squirt, “master pleasee!” You whine, not able to hold it any longer.
“Not yet” he growls and pushes in 3 fingers knuckles deep into your sensitive clit, “oh m-my god! I can’t h-hold it in!! Please m-master...” he smirks hearing you begging, “oh really? Well too f*cking bad” he says as he hits a pleasurable spot, “master!!! I’m cumming!! I’m f*cking cumming!! Please let me cum master!” He repeatedly hits your g-spot making you gasp, as you let out tears.
He notices it and decides to let you cum “let’s cum together” he counts down and together you cum together, as you squirt you emit a long exhale of relief, feeling sore all around you, you feel him pull out as you close your legs feeling both of your juices leak down your thigh, he unlocks the cuffs and throws them away along with the blindfold, he grabs your wrists and curses seeing the mark it left.
He quickly kisses your forehead and runs to grab a clean towel and wets it with water, and of course a healing cream. He walks back to you and looks at your exhausted figure, he moves the hair out of your face and sees your eyes closed, he quickly cleans you up and spreads the healing cream on both wrists, he lays in bed next to you and wraps the both of you in the warm cozy blanket, he cuddles you and rubs your back.
“Sorry if I went too hard on you baby, sleep well, I love you” “I love you too...” you mumble half asleep, he smiles and snuggles closer to u, “I love you more”

Not Your Aunt
Chapter 1: Donald
[ao3 link]
She was nobody’s aunt.
Well, maybe she was once, but she’d lost touch with her family decades earlier and they were long dead by the time she arrived at this new, unfounded dilemma.
When she’d first come across her rival-with-benefits carrying around two little kids, her initial reaction was a twinge of angry jealousy. Maybe they weren’t exclusive but come on! Kids? A family? Seriously? Then it hit her that these kids were at least eleven or twelve (or eight or sixteen, who knew how kids aged) and she’d last visited Scrooge just a few years prior. So the jealousy dissipated and was replaced with pure confusion.
“They’re Hortense’s kids,” he’d said succinctly, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. They didn’t look that much like Hortense, though Goldie had only met the woman once.
“So what is this, then? Babysitting?”
Scrooge laughed in a way that pissed her off the tiniest bit. “No, no. Hortense and her husband just decided to take a wee trip for themselves is all.”
“...so you’re babysitting,” she’d said with a hand on her hip. Why couldn’t he just answer her questions with a yes or a no? She didn’t need all the extra details. Him blabbing on with unnecessary detail was the whole reason she knew more about his family than she did her own.
“Ack, call it what you will!”
The 1990s was an odd decade for her. Just a few years earlier, Scrooge had personally invited her to his home for the very first time and she thought something was going to come of that. Of course, nothing did. Then he started bringing children with him on his adventures, the adventures she used to tag along on - out of all his attempts over the years, it was the most effective way to keep her from following him. She didn’t want to hang out with kids, lower their excursions to a PG-rating and split treasure four ways instead of two.
Unfortunately, old habits die hard, and she did find herself spending time with the twins every now and again. They didn’t seem to understand her any better than their uncle did, and she didn’t understand them at all. They were loud and rambunctious and very different from one another and very different from Scrooge. Della was overly enthusiastic and kept trying to jump headfirst into danger. Donald clearly didn’t want to be out and about - Goldie had the distinct feeling he just wanted to sit in his room and play guitar. She liked that he had an appreciation for music.
He also seemed to appreciate having another adult around on dangerous adventures, what with the way he’d grab her arm or try to hide behind her when things got tough. Goldie found it very, very annoying, but it’d be even more annoying to shove him away and deal with that aftermath. So on a particular adventure in the Middle East - one where she’d legitimately accidentally come across Scrooge and his family while she was hunting the same treasure - she let him grab while Scrooge and Della forged ahead and ignored the boy’s discomfort.
She watched Scrooge talking so animatedly with the young girl and felt her own discomfort creeping in. She'd only just started to accept the fact that he was turning into a family man. But there were some obvious concerns with that realization. Particularly the fact that family men didn’t want to spend time with women like her. Family men wanted a wife.
“Miss Goldie?”
She looked down at the boy who’d finally let go of her arm, but was awkwardly trying to walk at the exact same speed as her while trying to look casual about it. “Hm?”
“Are you gonna come back to the manor with us this time?”
She blinked, surprised by the question. “Um...probably not.”
“Why not?”
“...why would I?”
Donald frowned. “Uncle Scrooge always gets sad when you leave. Didn’t he ask you to come over?”
“Oh, please. Scrooge would never purposefully invite me into his home.” She didn’t count the Christmas party. She let her expectations get ahead of her that night when he was just inviting everyone he knew and didn’t want to exclude her. It didn’t count.
“Why? ‘Cause you’ll steal stuff?”
“Seems like a good enough reason to me.” She shrugged and stared at the back of Scrooge’s head. “He’s pretty protective of all his priceless junk, you know.”
The kid stayed silent for a few moments and Goldie thought she was in the clear from this odd little conversation, but then he was back with more. “It’s just kinda weird.”
“...hm?” she mumbled while taking a drink from the canteen she’d stolen from Scrooge two decades earlier.
“I mean, like...you’re basically our aunt, right?”
What a waste of water. Goldie’s nice, clean water that she’d collected for herself before this adventure started, and now it’d been dramatically spit all over the ground, almost hitting Scrooge and his niece. But in her defense, there was no way in the world she could’ve seen that question coming. None. Nada. Zip.
Donald looked exceptionally concerned as she coughed and sputtered and slammed her fist against her chest a few times. Scrooge and Della even turned to see what was going on.
Goldie just shook her head at them and Scrooge immediately turned back around while Della gave the older woman a suspicious glare before joining him.
As soon as her voice came back to her, she pointed an aggressive finger in Donald’s face. “I am absolutely not your aunt, not even close, not even a little bit. Never,” she said quietly but angrily, not wanting Scrooge to hear this embarrassing conversation. “I am just some lady you know that likes to piss off your uncle, got it?”
Donald made a face that said the-lady-doth-protest-too-much but shrugged and went back to being silent. They still had another mile to walk through this forest before they reached the supposed location of the Temple of Nanna, which Della was particularly excited about because why wouldn’t she be? She wasn’t afraid of all the snakes they’d seen and she didn’t wonder if there were any apex predators waiting to eat them and she wasn’t paranoid about falling off a ledge and respawning back at the beginning again. Er, well. Yeah.
He shook his head and looked up at Goldie. She didn’t seem afraid of any of that stuff, either. Why did TV shows always make girls seem so frail and scared when every girl he knew was tougher and braver than him? It seemed kind of unfair. But maybe their family was just weird.
Goldie caught him staring at her and glared as if she was about to yell at him about mentally referring to her as family. He turned his attention forward to stare at the back of Della’s head instead. Then he turned to look at Uncle Scrooge, who was talking about the god of the ziggurat they were going to and how he impacted the people who used to live there.
He peeked up at Goldie again and noticed her staring at Scrooge and looking...weirdly sad. Like she was bored and didn’t expect to be. He considered saying something to her when he heard a hissing sound to his left and immediately screeched and jumped up, wrapping his arms around Goldie’s neck.
“AUNT GOLDIE HELP MEEEEEE!”
On reflex, Goldie did hold onto the kid and kick the tiny little baby snake away from them, but she looked very pissed off.
Scrooge and Della stared at them and Scrooge was blushing quite a bit while Donald’s words processed in his head. “...Aunt?”
“What did I just say?!” Goldie angry-whispered at the boy in her arms.
Donald’s eyes watered and he frowned. “I-I’m sorry, I just got really scared, and-”
As he spoke, Goldie accidentally looked up and made eye contact with Scrooge, who looked somewhere between excited and flattered and confused and maybe even a bit disturbed. His look made her heart do a backflip and she felt her brain deflate as she tried to think of what to say or do next. Aunt, wife, family...it was a bit too much for her. She tugged Donald’s arms off of her and roughly threw him at Scrooge, who caught him with relative ease.
“I’m done with this,” Goldie muttered in annoyance. She could see Scrooge was about to comment and ask what she meant by that, but then she quickly zipped past him in the direction of the temple, tired of going slow so the kids could keep up. She wasn’t in the mood for family-friendly adventures and she was barely in the mood for Scrooge-friendly adventures anymore.
Scrooge scoffed as she ran on ahead. “Goldie you no-good, greedy-!!!” he shouted, shaking a fist as he put Donald back down. “Ack, I’m sorry, kids. I thought she and I were in a good place right now, but it seems I misjudged.”
“She always does this, Uncle Scrooge!” Della crossed her arms over her chest. “I just don’t get why you let her come along!”
He chuckled awkwardly and scratched the back of his head. “Ah...it’s hard to explain. We have a lot of history.” Scrooge glanced at Donald, who looked uncomfortably sad. It wasn’t hard to figure out that he blamed himself for Goldie leaving them. He put a hand on the boy’s head and hoped it was at least a little comforting. “She always finds a reason to leave me behind, but I’m glad I’ve got you two with me this time!”
Della rolled her eyes and Donald just shrugged. Scrooge had a feeling they needed a distraction, since they were bound to run into Goldie again when they reached the temple. “Let me just grab the map and we’ll continue on our way……………..”
Scrooge patted at his pocket that he knew the map was in. Then he patted at his other pockets. Then he took off his hat and reached into it, checking the many pockets in there. Empty. Which could only mean one thing...
“GOLDIE!!!!” he shouted suddenly, scaring the twins and making animals scatter away from them.
Goldie, sweaty and out-of-breath and just a few feet from the temple entrance, smirked at the sound of Scrooge’s scream. She pulled out the map and looked up to make sure she was using the right entrance to avoid booby traps. She almost laughed at the thought of Scrooge having to navigate his way through spikes and arrows.
Then she thought about Donald’s stupid little face and the way he looked at her when he called her aunt and she felt an angry betraying twinge in her heart. She sighed in frustration before grabbing a knife out of her pocket and carving a checkmark into the entranceway that she knew was safe. It wasn’t the kid’s fault that Scrooge was dragging him on dangerous adventures. She’d be nice. Just this once.

Mafia! Kim Taehyung- Defensive
Hello There!
ANON ASKS! (I know you weren’t on anon but I’m not sure if you wanted your name out there though, but you know who you are!!!!)
Could I please request a Taehyung smut with 25, 59, and 61 in the Mafia AU? Could it also have some angst? If not that's okay!
You most certainly can, my friend!
I went overboard with the angst, my bad boo. Lowkey forgot what I was doing lol. I didn’t touch much on the mafia part but only implied it, my bad.
25- What. Did. They. Say to you? I won’t ask again.
59- I didn’t know you liked playing Cat and Mouse.
61- Normal? Baby we’re the farthest from it.
Y’all, I’m in a shitty mood, grr. Like, I’m just ugh...I don’t know if my mood is reflective of my writing right now but I’m sorry in advance. Hopefully I can make it up somehow.
Leggo!
...
Fuck! Okay Y/N whatever you do, don’t tell him what happened today. A misunderstanding led to some random guy ‘accidentally’ spilling his drink on you.
You beelined for the bedroom, rushing to yank off your sweater. You tried to gather yourself before you ran into Taehyung. If he found out that someone had thrown rum in your face today, they wouldn’t live to see the next day.
Fate however was not on your side.
“Baby?” you heard as you shut the bedroom door. “Is that you?”
Fuck, if you didn’t answer quick enough...you’d probably have a gun to your face. You always had to make your presence known around Taehyung and his friends, y’know for protective reasons. In his line of work, you couldn’t afford to surprise him.
“Yeah it’s me!!” you replied quickly. You threw your jacket in the hamper, only to realize the spirits had soaked through to your shirt.
Taehyung walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. He smiled upon seeing you. “Damn babe, I’m glad your here.” he began. “The day I fucking had-...why is your shirt wet?”
“Oh...um...” you tried to find an excuse as he walked up.
‘Why do you smell like you were at a bar? You don’t drink.” (a/n....BUT AUTHOR-CHAN DOOOOEEESS...)
You looked away from him, too scared to even talk. “Y/N...” he said lowly. “Did something happen?”
“Y-yes.” you looked down.
“...You gonna tell me?” his dominant side had made an appearance.
“It was just a misunderstan-”
“Bullshit.”
“No I swear-”
“What. Did. They. Do to you. I won’t ask again.” he said warningly.
“...Some guy threw his drink on me and my friend because they turned him down.” you told the truth. You glanced up at Taehyung who was red. There was hell in his eyes and you could tell your comment had pissed him off.
“Your friend with you?”
“No, they dropped me off.” you replied.
“Where were you?”
“We were at the plaza.”
“Who was the guy?” he asked slowly.
“The bartender.” you couldn’t lie, you wouldn’t dare. You had lied to him one time...out of sheer fear for another assholes life. The guy was barely recognizable after Tae was done with him.
“All I need to know.” Taehyung had marched over to his closet and began rummaging through it.
“Taehyung no! It’s no big deal!” you tried to stop him.
“Some dick HARRASED you and it’s no big deal?!”
“It’s not worth scaring him!”
“Baby...I’m not gonna scare him. I’m gonna mangle him so bad no one will recognize his face for the rest of his pathetic life!” he yanked down a shirt. “Better yet I should have been with you!” he glowered.
“Taehyung, you know that’s a bad idea!” it was your turn to snap. When the most feared guy in town was your boyfriend, people treated you different...you didn’t wanna be stared at in the grocery store just because of someone else’s line of work. You two hadn’t even gone public.
Taehyung turned towards you, dropping the shirt in his hands. “Bad idea?”
“A very bad idea!” you repeated yourself. “You’ll kill him!”
“That’s the point!” he rebutted. “Y/N, what’s the matter with you?”
“I just don’t want you to waste your breath dealing with some asshole.” you tried to explain. “Tae, I’m telling you it’s not worth it!”
“Do you even know what you’re covered in?” he crossed his arms.
Your silence told him everything.
“How the fuck am I gonna protect if you never let me defend you?” Taehyung glowered. “Some dickface spilled some shit on you and you don’t even know what it is and you want me to sit here and do nothing about it?!”
“Tae, you can’t solve all my problems with your fists!”
“Yes, the fuck I can. But I can’t if people don’t know I’m your man.” he glowered. “It’s almost like...you’re ashamed of me.”
“Tae, baby!” you breathed. You urgently held the sides of his face. “You know that’s not true. I’m hurt you even jumped to that conclusion.”
Taehyung didn’t look at you, nor did he speak.
“How am I supposed to go about my day when people would be scared to even bump into me. I don’t want you to drop everything just to scare someone. You have way more important things to do that abandon your duties to take care of my problems...but” you stepped back. “you think I’m ashamed of you.” you sighed. “Tae...look at me.” you sniffed. “Please.”
Now it was his turn to look at you. “No, no baby don’t cry please.” he took you into his arms. “Don’t do that, don’t cry.” he shushed you. “I know you’re not ashamed of me...I just hate that I can’t defend you.” he sighed. “I wanna be there with you but with the guys and all this...it feels like I can’t.” he pressed his forehead against yours.
You felt bad. You didn’t want it to come to this.
“Tae...I’m-”
“No...don’t apologize.” he shushed you.
“I have to.” you mumbled. “I’m not ashamed of you...”
“I know. I’m sorry.” he said into your hair. “I shouldn’t have said that, baby.” he continued. “I just wanna be there with you...I didn’t realize work had been getting in the way. ”
“I ain’t say all that.” you mumbled.
“Its I didn’t, babe. Grammar, my dear.” he laughed as you looked up at him. “And you didn’t have to.”
“You a teacher? No, then shut up.” you said grumpily.
“Ahh there’s my smart mouth.” he caught you by a surprise with a kiss. It just then dawned on you that he was still wearing a towel. It didn’t seem to phase him though.
“Could you be normal for once?” you giggled, returning his affections anyways.
“ Normal? Baby we’re the farthest from it. “
He gingerly held the back of your head and he moved his lips against yours. All the tension from earlier seemed to melt off. Your body was pulled against his, closing any free space between you two.
“Does baby forgive me?” he pulled away and trailed his fingers down your side.
“Your horny ass!” you groaned, stepping away from him. “Away with you!”
“Get back here.” he lightly commanded, you could tell he was teasing.
“So you can get your mangy paws on me? Don’t think so.” you huffed, crossing your arms.
“ I didn’t know you liked playing Cat and Mouse. “ he smirked. “Get your ass back here.” he towered over you as he crossed the room. “Don’t make me repeat myself, babe.”
“Hm..what are ya gonna do?” you looked him up and down.
In a swift movement, he ripped off his towel revealing all his glory.
“Wanna ask me that again?” he bit his lip as he stepped towards you.
“What’s gonna happen if I do?” you raised an eyebrow. With a giggle, Taehyung stood right in front of you. He raised his hand and rested his palm at the base of your throat. (...choke me zaddy)
“You don’t wanna know, darling” he bit his lip. He walked backwards towards his bed and sat down, taking you into his lap.
He moved his hands from your throat to the side of your face. It was then you realized he was completely naked still. It didn’t seem to bother him. All you could do was laugh as you were practically thrown onto the bed.
“Take it off.” he began kissing down your neck, yanking at the hem of your shirt. You allowed him to strip you of your shirt. “Take these off next.” He fumbled with the button of your jeans. In no time, your shirt and pants were thrown on the floor. “Damn girl, you’re so fine.”
He began kissing down your chest, hovering his lips over the slope of your breasts. He ghosted over your stomach.
“You know this proves that all of our problems can be solved by sex, right?” you raised an eyebrow. You propped yourself on your elbow to get a good look at him.
“I don’t have a problem with that.” he laughed.
Taehyung hooked his fingers in the waistband of your panties and swiftly yanked them off with reckless abandon.
“Of course you don’t.” you groaned. Tae laughed, crawling back up to hover his lips over yours.
‘We aren’t done talking about this.” he said, slightly teasing your entrance with his length. “But for now, I’ll let it go.”
(I might, keyword MIGHT make an additional part to this, I just have to see how my internet is looking in the next few days.)

𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐁𝐄 𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓
( ~ Kakashi Hatake x Gender Neutral Reader Insert ~ )
GENRE: Smut and Fluffy Fluff!
FANDOM: Naruto: Shippuden
TRIGGER WARNINGS: There’s smut towards the end! (Thigh riding and overstim, etc.) Nothing too hardcore, but it’s worth noting.
SUMMARY: I really hope this is sort of what you were leaning towards! I haven’t watched Naruto in years so I had to refresh my memory a little and do HELLA research, but I hope I didn’t disappoint! This is Kakashi with a bratty reader! There’ll be a small oneshot (probably posted later today) to follow this because music inspired me lmao.
WORD COUNT: This is just a headcanon/imagine so N/A REQUESTED BY: @impromptuxprompts
(Headers are mine, but the art inside of them are not! Please don’t steal or repost without credit!)
We all know that Kakashi is a pretty stoic man, right?
Like literally NOTHING pisses this man off.
Or like.. At least until he gets you, Reader-Chan.
But here’s the thing, you decide to try and make him break at least a little bit.
Despite what people may think, he’s generally pretty vanilla.
He also has really bad nightmares; being too hardcore could send him into a bad state.
But not everything needs to be rough all the time. You like how cuddly he is.
But he’s ONLY cuddly towards you. And when you both are alone.
He’s DEFINITELY the type to always try and teach you something.
Like, “Kashi! I’m gonna put my hand on the stove!”
And you’d think he’d be like, “No… You shouldn’t do that.” Right?
Wrong.
He just shoots you THE most unimpressed look, crosses his arms, and leans against the wall and nods his head a little like.
“…. Hm… Go ahead.”
You just STARE like homeboy you’re REALLY gonna just let me… Put my hand on the stove like that?
And then he’d watch you wimp out and whine and he’d reward you with a forehead kiss.
You get happy for a second, but goddamn what is this man thinking about? Like you can NEVER tell with him.
But you can’t get mad at him; he knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about romance.
This dude REALLY tried to call you “his favorite kunai” before he settled on Blossom. And you had to tell him why you being “his favorite kunai” was an issue because he honestly thought he’d gotten the hang of it.
He’s watching TV and you’re reading a book and decide to dress in one of his sweaters with nothing on underneath.
I mean NOTHING. Like, no underwear, no shirt- nothing.
And I mean the only reaction you get out of him is a small “Hm…” And his eyes widen a little and that seems like that’s all it is.
As you’re pouting, you don’t notice his eyes slowly raking over your body, he just doesn’t blush or anything because this man could keep a poker face if someone had a gun to his head.
And you just stomp your foot a little like. “Am I not beautiful enough for you or something?”
This time you get a bit of a reaction but he just blows his hair out of in front of his eye.
You both have a set of rules that you follow, and in exchange, he lets you eat sweets before dinner and before bed, and he also has to keep his mask off the entire time he’s at home.
“What do you mean? You’re just fine,” he says in that soft, cold tone of his. His eyes linger a little on the hoodie misforming your body.
He loves it actually. He loves how all of the little folds hug you and he knows it smells like him.
He also knows that it’s your comfort blanket of sorts, so of course he knows that something’s wrong with you.
“Come here, Blossoml,” he says softly and he pats his lap.
“No.”
He looks a bit taken back.
Surprised? No. Disappointed? Absolutely.
He notices that you don’t have the little bear he gave you with him and he raises an eyebrow.
“Where’s your toy?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
He just sighs quietly and you smirk thinking that you won.
“I’m guessing you don’t want any sweets after dinner tonight then?”
“Mm-mm. Nope.”
You a whole damn lie. And he knows it.
He tries to go through and think about why you’re acting like such a brat today and he remembers that you get like this when you guys haven’t had sex in awhile.
It’s been almost a month.
He does this thing where he tries to deprive himself of things that makes him feel good or makes him happy, but he does it in such a way that you don’t ever recognize it.
“Why should I get to live free and feel good and be happy and my comrades can’t even feel anymore?” That’s what he always said to try and make an excuse for it.
He’s WAY more laid back now than he was years ago though, but he still has some of his same habits.
But it’s too late. You’ve already pushed the brat act and noticed he’s slightly started to get agitated.
He sat back and leaned forward, his elbows rested on his knees, his eyebrows furrowed just a little, his lips just a little pursed.
You were standing right in front of him and you shifted uncomfortably under his intense blanketed gaze.
“K-Kashi-“
“I’m going to ask you one last time, Blossom. Where’s. Your toy?”
“U-Uhm…”
He knows how difficult you are when you get like this, so instead of counting down from 10 or some shit, he spells out his name, and with each letter, his gaze gets more intense.
“K….A….K…..A…..S……”
You start to whine and his eyebrows only furrow more and he stands up, your resolve now nonexistent. “H….”
“I-It’s under the bed and I can’t reach it! I’m sorry!”
He shakes his head and clicks his tongue. “What’s gotten into you today, Blossom?
“NOTHING!”
“Inside voices.”
He taps the side of his head and you nod. That was the signal for him sort of telling you to tone it down a little and you abide to avoid aggravating him.
He walks into the room and kneels down, gently collecting the bear from under the bed.
You thank him and hug him as you chitter quietly and he still has no idea what to do with his hands so he just pats your head.
“If you wanted me to grab your bear for you then why didn’t you just ask?”
You pout and bury your head in his chest. He never really understood the point of people being a great but with YOU he seemed to tolerate WAY more than he would with anybody else.
“I-I… I d-don’t know,” you say quietly.
He sits on the edge of the bed, leaning back, his eyes guiding you to one of his thighs.
“This is what you wanted right? Sincerest apologies for not being able to give more… But this is all I can offer at the moment,” he speaks quietly as you walk closer.
He gently takes you by the waist and positions his legs right in between yours, slowly lowering you how he knows you like it.
Before you move- or before he lets you move- you just stop as you notice his eyes locked on yours.
He gently takes your chin in his hand and makes you look at him.
“The next time you need something, just ask. Why do you insist on being a brat?”
You whine more but immediately shut up when you see his sleepy expression.
“B-Being a brat is the only way to get your attention on me! I don’t like it when you’re sad! I want you to be… MINE. Not your mind’s…”
He allows you to fully sit on his thigh, slowly guiding your hips to ride it as he spoke to you.
“Blossom… No. You’re all mine, for sure, you’re just not observant.”
You open your mouth to protest but he puts one of his soft fingers into your mouth so you can’t and you just suck on it contently while listening to him talk to you.
“I notice when and why you act like a brat. Hm? I know that you want this,” he gestures to you. “And so much more. However, I need you to recognize that I’m not like… Most men out here… I’m not normal… I’m so sorry if I seem so distant, truly. I’m *not,* I promise. I just… Don’t equate sex with attention… And I don’t really have a drive for it, yknow? Like…. Just… I don’t know what it is… But I know for sure that it’s not on you.”
You liked it when you both had your heart to hearts. Especially like this.
He wasn’t an especially hard Dom, he always found out what it was you wanted, questioned you on why you thought you deserved what you were claiming you did and made sure you’d been taking care of yourself before he gave it to you. He didn’t like being too rough so he made sure that every action he made was soft and gentle.
You didn’t like gentle all the time, so you’d let him know and then guide him into what you were craving in the moment.
When he choked you for the first time, he was a bit scared but he was also confused. — “U-Uh… People like this s-sort of thing…? Why?”
He also gives REALLY great spankings, but he’s also confused as to why people like being hit too. (Aren’t we all.)
You listen to him and realize that the two of you have had this talk before. You don’t like that he felt forced to tell you this again especially when you knew that it made him uncomfortable.
“Blossom… I’ll do my best for you, okay? I’ll be normal and just like everyone else… At least in terms of expressing my feelings to you… But for now, work the brat out of your system by riding on my thigh.”
You did as instructed, sucking hard on his fingers, your eyes glazed over as you rest your hand on his chest for support as he started to slowly bob his leg for you.
He was okay with one of many things, however, and that was praising you. He always took the chance to praise you, especially whenever you did well, but he took extra care when you were in your moods.
He also knew you liked it when he moaned or when he made noise for you so that you knew you were doing good, so he did just that too.
Whenever you rode his thigh, he always took special care of you, holding your waist and guiding your sex into the hardest part of his thigh.
Bonus points if you’re wearing his shirt, or anything of his really.
He always likes to graze his nails over your skin too because of the goosebumps it gives you.
He watches you make a mess of his thigh, feeling your legs tremble around his and this gives him a smile. It’s VERY subtle, but it’s a smile nonetheless.
“That’s right Blossom, just keep grinding into me just like that… You’re being so good for me baby, don’t stop until you’re satisfied,” is what he often reminds when you’re close.
Occasionally when your leg brushes past or presses into his bulge, he returns the favor and he grinds against your leg subtly, but it’s still there.
And the best part?
He always lets those moans and whimpers out in your ear for you to soak up.
He doesn’t like it when you call him daddy; he just doesn’t. However, he does allow you to call him “Mister” or “Sir” to make up for it.
By this point you’re about ready to cum right there and you know, he’s never held you back from an orgasm, so this should be easy, right?
Wrong…. Kinda.
He tells you to slow down and you just stare up at him in disbelief.
Tf did he mean “sLoW dOwN”
So you whine a little, but then he slaps your ass and you’re just like :O
And a VERY fleeting smirk shows up on his face.
You abide and he pulls your hips down against his lap harder and then you jolt and dig your nails into his chest.
“W-What a-are you doing S-Sir?”
He pushes his fingers deeper in your mouth to shut you up and while you’re riding his thigh, his hips are grinding into your leg and he brings you closer.
Of course, as if he hadn’t already, he broke your very fragile bratty demeanor and he knew he did too.
He nibbled at your ear while all of his sweet little groans flooded into your ear.
He also hiked his leg up hard and that caused to to bite down on his fingers a little as you arched your back.
He lets out a hollow laugh in your ear because he knows that you’re holding back an orgasm.
“Didn’t I tell you to go until you were satisfied? So why are you holding back?” His eyebrows furrow a little and you try not to cum but that doesn’t really last long.
He starts to nibble on your neck with a soft growl and he forces your hips faster against his leg, but you know you’re in trouble now because he starts to spell his name after every single nibble.
“You have until I finish spelling my name,” he said quietly in your ear as if you both were in public.
“H…. A…. T…”
You’re trying again to hold on, and his fingers latch on to your tongue a little not making any of this easier.
Naturally, you start to drool; so you’re a mess on his lap trying to keep from bursting over his leg right then and there. I mean come on, he just started spelling.
“A…K…E… K…A…K…”
You can’t really hold on anymore and he smirks, pleased with himself as you tremble on his thigh, your nails digging into his skin, your toes curling as you try to push yourself onto his thigh more but also try to pull away because you’re so overtimed you could barely take it.
“A.. S…” He laughed quietly as his nips became a little harder, your orgasm only intensifying.
“H… I…” He mumbled quietly as he finished spelling his name into you.
You didn’t know what kind of hold he had on you but you loved it, and you were such a mess on his lap, trembling with labored breathing, you try to stay upright but find it hard to as you’re about to pass out.
“Have you finally got that brat out of your system or should I…” He jolted his leg up into your sex and you whimper loudly looking like you’re about to cry, your eyes widening a little.
“N-No sir! No more! I-I c-can’t take anymore,” you murmur out quietly. “P-Please let’s just cuddle…. I w-want you w-with me,” you whimper. It was apparent to him that you were slipping into subspace and he knew just how to take care of you.
“Don’t worry, you’ve been a good baby for me,” he said softly, gently kissing the side of your head as he picked you up.
He allowed you to lean into him before he laid you on the bed. You were still extremely sensitive and trembling, letting go of him as you let the bed hug you instead.
You knew what time it was so you didn’t complain when he left.
He came back a moments later with a few things; a bag of chocolates he reserved for this occasion, a few candles with a lighter, his cologne, and your favorite lotion.
He lights the candles first and then he places them around the room. The sweet warm scents now filling the area around your room.
He then walks over to you on the bed and he slides into the bed, turning on the TV to some cartoons, warming up a dollop of lotion in his hands.
“Is this what you want to watch, Blossom?”
You, of course, nod sleepily and whine quietly as you feel the warm lotion over your body, his slender hands gently kneading into your back. It felt so good that you couldn’t help but to let out soft mewls and moans trying to press closer to him.
He smiled and moved you onto your stomach so that you were facing the tv and he moved to straddle your lower back as he gently massaged the warm lotion into your back causing you to whimper and whine softly, your body still sensitive from your orgasm.
“Am I going too rough?” He asks in that sweet almost melancholy voice of his that you loved. It somehow always managed to lull you into subspace.
You only respond with small grunts and mumbles.
He took a break to open up a couple of the small chocolates and he gently pushed one into your mouth with a soft kiss against your ear as he left the other in a sort of pile right next to you so you could help yourself.
You couldn’t help but to whimper quietly and you nibble at your little bear’s ear as you watch your cartoons, sucking on the chocolate as he went back to massaging your skin with the warm relaxing lotion.
He also loved to worship your body, especially since you tell him that you don’t know if you mean anything to him.
He works the lotion into your whole body; your back, your sides, your arms and hands.
He lotions up your hands by keeping his hips pressed into yours from behind while his hands gently caress yours. He loves playing with the muscles and bones in your hands, primarily your knuckles.
When he was finished with the rest of your body, leaving your neck left treated too with soft kisses as well, he repositioned so that he could cuddle with you from behind.
He ALWAYS cuddled you until you were asleep so he could clean himself up and go make dinner for whenever you chose to wake up, the brat ALWAYS worked out of your system after he was done with you.
“What do you say, Blossom,” he always chided in that sweet almost monotonous voice of his with his soft closed eye smile.
“Thank you, Sir. I’ll be good from now on.”

Soldier Boy (Part 2)
Summary: The reader spends the day with Dean getting to know him some more when she catches him in a lie and discovers one of his most dark secrets...
Masterlist
Pairing: Superhero!Dean x reader
Word Count: 2,600ish
Warnings: language, mentions of death, angst
A/N: Enjoy!
____
“So how old are you, Solider Boy?” you asked the next day as you walked around the park.
“Thirty,” he said with a smirk.
“Solider Boy’s been around since the second world war. So. How old are you really?” you asked.
“I was eighteen when I was injected. I’ve aged very slowly. I do age, but it’s slow. They...I shouldn’t talk about this stuff,” he said, kicking at the ground with his boot. “Ah, fuck it, it’s in the news anyways.”
“The compound V?” you asked and he nodded.
“First successful try right here. I was still going through puberty so it took,” he said. “I guess. The science is very complicated they said. They just said you want to serve your country and I signed up.”
“What year were you born?”
“January 24th, 1926,” he said. You paused and he chuckled. “I know some women aren’t into older men.”
“I must seem like a child to you,” you said, walking again and crossing your arms.
“You’re twenty nine. I’m thirty. What’s such a big deal about that?” he smiled.
“You’re sweet,” you said. You dropped your hands by your sides, Dean taking one of them in his. “Old man ain’t wasting his time.”
“Keep it up, kiddo,” he laughed. You laced your fingers together with his hand and smiled as you looked at him. A flannel and t shirt. Jeans and boots. A baseball cap on his head. He looked so ordinary and yet he was the first superhero in existence. “I’m sure you’re wondering if I ever had a family.”
“A bit. It’s okay. You don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to,” you said.
“No, I want to. I don’t talk to anyone anymore. Aside from the people at Vought to try and get in The Seven but that’s like beating a dead horse at this point,” he said.
“What do you mean?”
“Apparently I’m too similar in the market sector as Homelander. Go ‘merica and color scheme and that shit. I didn’t ask to be the leader or anything. I just...want to get off the kiddie squad, go do real shit out there, help people, not the stupid stuff I do now.”
“Maybe that’s why you don’t fit on The Seven. You want to help people, you don’t care about the photo op,” you said.
“I’m gonna keep trying,” he said. “But to answer your other question you didn’t ask, no, I never had a family. I had parents and a brother but they’ve all passed away. All my friends are gone. It never seemed right to love a girl and have a family and watch them all grow old and...honestly I didn’t want to watch my children grow older than me and die. I can’t imagine anything worse than outliving them.”
“You’re a good man, Dean.”
“I had the occasional acquaintance, don’t get me wrong. But it was always casual, no titles, nothing formal.”
“Is this casual?” you asked. He shook his head and you bumped his shoulder. “What’s different this time?”
“A chemical made me this way. Maybe a chemical can unmake me this way. We are so advanced now compared to back then. Maybe I can age normally with some other combination. Maybe I’m stuck like this forever. I just know that the numb pit inside of me woke the fuck up when I met you and it has been quiet for a very, very long time.”
“My mom’s quiet a bit older than my dad. Age gaps don’t scare me,” you said. He chuckled and you held onto his arm. “You don’t sparkle like the twilight guy though right?”
“Oh my God, no,” he laughed. “No sparkles here. I do make sparks when bullets bounce off of me though.”
“Well now you’re just bragging,” you said. You rested your head on his arm, thinking back to a movie you used to watch as a kid, Solider Boy the lead in the thing. “Dean.”
“Hm?”
“Why did you just lie about not having a family?” you asked, pulling away from him. You knew you could have let it go, should have let it go for the sake of the mission but damn you were pissed off at him for lying to you. You crossed your arms and he frowned, going over to a nearby bench. You sat down next to him, Solider Boy rubbing his hands together. “You were in this movie my brother loved so I watched it all the time. He was a huge fan and he would never shut up about you. I never paid much attention but I remember. You had a wife and kids once.”
“You’re gonna leave after I tell you this part,” he said, a sad smile on his face.
“I’m gonna leave if you don’t tell me the truth right now. You will never see my face again. You promised you would not lie to me. Out with it Dean.”
“I wasn’t always a good person. It’s very...difficult to stay good when there’s so much bad around you. When there’s no consequences.”
“What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?”
“My son and daughter died hating me, thinking I was a monster. They died because of me. That was the breaking point for me. I walked away after that, I started over. I’d turned into this thing I didn’t recognize. I became Soldier Boy. Dean Winchester...he died back in that war. Not until the nineties did I realize what had happened to me. So I left. Went away from the world. Brought Dean back to life and Soldier Boy came back but different. Good this time. Greed, corruption. It’s not happening this time. Then you said...you made that comment about me being naive, that I’d turn eventually into an asshole supe like the rest of them. I’m terrified of that happening to me again. Maybe that’s why I like you, cause you’ll remind me not to be a monster again.”
“Why do you call yourself a monster?” you asked quietly.
“The first time I killed someone, I was mortified. The last time I did it, I laughed. It made me happy. I hurt him before I did it even. I stopped caring about people. My wife wanted a divorce. I thought she was hot, she fit my image. I told her I didn’t want one so she took some pills and told me she’d rather die than live with the devil. My kids were young adults, late twenties. I snapped at them when they blamed me for their mother’s death. My son hit me so I pushed him and he hit his head. My daughter ran out, afraid of me and was hit by a car. They died because I didn’t want to lose my image. I wasn’t even that upset at first. I thought a widow superhero, that’ll boost my numbers.”
“If that didn’t…” you said, Dean running his hands over his thighs. “What made you change?”
“I found a drawing my daughter had made me when she was small,” he said. He took out his wallet and unfolded a laminated sheet of paper holding it out to you. It was done in crayon, a few stick figures with one of them wearing a superhero outfit and the word “daddy” written above it. “She loved me once. I ripped it away from her. I found that cleaning out the house and I realized what I’d done. I’m worse than any bad guy there ever was for doing that to them. I stopped caring. When you stop caring is when you lose those bits of your soul. They break off until there’s nothing left. I am a monster, Y/N. Nothing I ever do can make up for it and save whatever shattered pieces are in there. But I owe it to my kids to be good and stay good.”
You handed the sheet back and he tucked it away, his wallet going in his pocket as he stared out at the trees across the path.
“I understand if you would no longer like to see or speak to me again. Or if you want to slap me in the face. That’s also acceptable,” he said.
“What year was all of this?” you asked.
“They died in ‘92. Then I ran away to Kansas, worked as a farmhand for a while,” he said. He rubbed his palm and stared down at his lap. “Just...be careful at night and try to stop walking down alleys for me, okay?”
“Why are you saying that?”
“I’m never going to see you again after you get up from this bench.”
You stood up and he let out a sigh. You took a step to your left and sat down closer to him, turning your head as Dean looked so horribly confused at you. You couldn’t walk away. It wasn’t an option. But while you knew you couldn’t walk because of the mission Butcher had you on, you didn’t want to. There was so much self-hate inside of Dean he hid well and part of you ached that he considered himself sub-human.
“Y/N, what are you doing?”
“Dean. What happened to your family was horrible but they were accidents. Your daughter, your son. Your wife, did she even let it sink in for you before she did that? If I was married to someone and they suddenly asked for a divorce my gut reaction would probably be no too. I’m not saying you didn’t play a part but those were her actions that trickled down and affected the rest of you. Letting yourself become corrupted means you’re human. We all make fucking mistakes. Yours are a little big, I admit that. But you try to make up for it. All you can do after the fact is try and you’re doing that. There’s a soul in there Dean. If there wasn’t this wouldn’t be eating you alive. Cut yourself a break. I gotta process everything you said but I’m not walking away. Promise you will never lie to me again and I can promise you that I won’t judge you, no matter what you’ve done.”
“I’ve been around 95 years and I’ve never met anyone like you,” he said. “That’s a good thing. I will never lie to you again. I swear. I’m sorry. I was...frightened of telling you who I was deep down. I like you. I’ve never felt like this before. It’s the first bit of happiness I’ve felt in a long time and I don’t want it to go away just yet.”
“It’s okay that you were scared. Maybe on our third date we can have a less intense conversation. We can talk about how you’re older than sliced bread,” you teased.
“You youngin’s don’t know how good you got it,” he chuckled. You took his hand into your lap and he smiled. “Not a monster to you?”
“No. Just be a good guy and I’ll be happy,” you said. You leaned over and kissed his cheek, Dean looking you up and down.
“I wish I knew you when I was a dumb kid that let them shove that stuff in me. I never would have said yes if I had a girl back home.”
“Well, from now on, maybe just ask if you think I’d be proud of what you were doing. If the anwer’s no, maybe don’t do it,” you said.
“I’m gonna keep that one,” he said. “Also did you subtly drop that I’m getting another date despite all of that?”
“You told me the truth, even though it was hard. That’s why I like you too,” you said. “Plus you’re really old so you must have like, sex down to perfection by this point.”
“Gonna blow your fucking mind,” he teased. “Eventually. I know things are different nowadays but…you’re special. You’re not a hookup.”
“When you’re ready, you let me know and we’ll go from there, okay?” He nodded and you gave him a hug, Dean hesitant at first but he quickly relaxed into it. “You alright?”
“Been a long time since I had a hug is all.”
“You need one, just come to me,” you said. You sat back and he smiled. “So. Let’s go do something fun. You look like you could use it.”
“Night,” murmured Dean as he kissed you at your doorstep that evening.
“Night,” you said, not moving away from him just yet. His ears perked up and he forced himself away. “Trouble?”
“Yeah. Nothing major. I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said.
“Bye Dean,” you said, watching him take off running far faster than any human man could. You smiled as you locked up, a loud thud coming from your kitchen. You unlocked the door and looked around. “Hello?”
“For such a nice house you have an incredibly small kitchen,” said Butcher as he walked out with the bottle of your nicest bourbon.
“Oh come on, that was a housewarming present,” you said.
“I swipe you some more,” he said, taking a long swig. “How’s it going?”
“Good. We got close today but Butcher you seriously can not come back here again. Dean was this close to coming inside tonight.”
“Dean. I thought he was Solider Boy.”
“You know what I mean.”
“You want to wind up like his last broad did? You give him the puppy dog eyes and then we make a move,” he said.
“I’m starting to think we might get further with sugar over spice. Billy he wants to make up for his past. If he gets into The Seven he could be a serious asset.”
“Are you going soft on me?” he asked, an edge in his voice.
“Let me work him the way I know best. Trust me,” you said.
“Don’t forget what this is for. You call when you’re ready,” he said. “Don’t take too long.”
He left out the back and you sighed, running your hands over your face. Sure, Dean had done some bad things in the past but who hadn’t? He wasn’t playing you, he had no reason to. The part of you that wanted revenge was still there but he didn’t cause your brother to die, not really. He was simply a prime target at the moment.
You swallowed and went to the kitchen, taking the bottle of alcohol to the family room. You sat on the couch and took a swig, letting it burn your throat.
You didn’t want him to get hurt. You liked him. A lot. Maybe you could convince him to go away, be someplace safer. Your head turned when you got a text, the alert saying it was from Dean and him asking you if you wanted to get out of the city and go hiking tomorrow.
Maybe that’d be a good time to tell him the truth. He was bound to find out eventually and if he got mad, at least you’d be the only one in danger. Billy’s voice was at the back of your head but you ignored it. He’d been angry for too long, couldn’t see the good in people anymore. Dean wasn’t what you thought he was at first. He was good deep down.
You’d tell Solider Boy the truth tomorrow and hoped you lived to see the next day.

Life is Beautifully Ugly (At Times) - pjm | 01
⇒ Warnings for this chapter: Death of minor characters, mentions of a car accident, losing a loved one, a child being orphaned, cursing, Jimin being an ass, reader being a bitch.
⇒ A/N: Hey lovelies! I’m back-ish! I’ve been working on this project for months now and I’ve finally found my muse again and so I got to writing more and more chapters for this. Please enjoy the first chapter of hopefully my first series (but not my last). xoxo
“Imo!” Your head shot up at the happy squeal and you bent down to one knee, opening your arms, almost toppling over at the force your niece ran into you.
“Oof!” Your arms closed around her and she buried her nose in your hair as her arms went around your neck, “Hello my pretty little flower.” You drew back and nuzzled her nose with yours to which she frowned.
“I’ve grown 1 inch so I’m not little anymore.”
“You’ll always be my pretty little flower, Hyejin. No matter how tall you get.” You picked her up as you stood, groaning briefly as you adjusted her on your hip, “But you are getting a little bit heavy.”
Hyejin giggled, “Appa also says I’m getting heavy. Says his back hurts.”
“That’s because your Appa is getting old.”
A hum came from the doorway and you saw Han, your brother-in-law, standing there, looking dapper in a black and white tux, his natural black hair swept back from his face, “You’re the one to talk, Y/N. You’re closer to 30 than I am.”
You rolled your eyes, “No need to remind me, Han.” You said just as your younger sister, Charlotte gently pushed Han out of the doorframe, looking a little bit frantic, “Missing something?” You asked her as she walked over to the vanity, opening several drawers.
“My watch.”
“The one laying right in front of you?”
Charlotte sighed heavily as her eyes landed upon her watch, “Thanks.”
“What would you do without me?” You smirked as she walked over to you and took Hyejin from your arms and her daughter protested with a small whine.
“Can’t I go with you, Eomma?” She asked and glanced longingly at you and her father, “I also want to go to the ball and look pretty.”
Charlotte chuckled and kissed her forehead, “Another time, baby. This is for grown-ups only.”
“Why is it always only for adults? I want to go too!” She protested loudly, crossing her arms and pouted.
You ruffled her hair, “How about you and I play dress-up tomorrow, hm? How does that sound? I’ve bought new shoes you can try.” You winked at her and Hyejin’s pout slowly vanished.
“Can I put make-up on you, Imo?”
“Sure.”
Charlotte put her down and bent down just as the doorbell rang, gently wiping her daughter’s hair back from her face, “You be good to Mrs. Shin, okay? We’ll be back before you know it.”
“Yes, Eomma.”
You absentmindedly stared out the window as the limousine drove through one of the high-end districts of Seoul. Closed off ground containing High-Rise buildings towered the streets and in between, they were grand mansions.
You felt out of place here, in this part of town.
You preferred Han and Charlotte’s apartment in the more affordable part of Seoul.
“Y/N.”
You hummed at the sound of your sister’s voice.
“Promise me you’ll be nice.”
You shifted your gaze to her and raised a brow, “When am I not nice?” You asked and shook your head when Charlotte sent you a knowing look, “Oh please. Just because he’s going to be there doesn’t mean I won’t be nice.”
Han snorted, “The last time you saw each other, it ended up in the tabloids.”
You glared at him and tch’ed, “Your brother called me - me - a prude, and I simply wanted him to teach him some manners.”
“You don’t teach someone manners by threatening them, Y/N.” Came the rational voice of Charlotte.
This time you snorted and rolled your eyes, “Wow, you two really take his side.”
“We are not but you two should bury that hatchet, whatever it is. He is actually nice once you get to know him.”
“He’s a conceited asshole that needs to be beaten down a peg or ten. There is nothing nice about him.”
“Y/N…”
“Yeah, yeah.”
There was once a time where you would have taken in the beautiful surroundings of the ballroom with all it’s marble and gold, tall doors, and crystal chandeliers and would have felt like a princess.
But this wasn’t your first rodeo at a gathering such as this nor would it be your last.
You hated them now. Well, not hated but found them so superficial because all it was was rich people prancing around with their noses in the air while they had a pissing contest of who had the most money, the fastest car, the grandest of mansions, or the youngest wife.
“Smile.” Charlotte noted as she sat down next to you, followed by Han who had finally managed to break free of one of the old ladies' claws, no doubt talking about finances.
You plastered on a fake smile but said smile quickly vanished when you spotted a familiar face approaching the table.
You tried to hide your scowl as the man came up to the table, dressed in a burgundy-colored suit that cost more than what you earned in a year, his ears adorned with silver dangling earrings with matching diamond rings on his fingers. The last time you had seen him, he’d donned blonde hair but now it was gray and it was swept back neatly, showing off his face.
And he had a new chick on his arm.
No surprise there.
Park Jimin was one of the biggest fuckboys you knew, if not the biggest.
He dragged his eyes from his date to you and a knowing smirk spread on his lips when he saw your scowl. No doubt he was already planning various ways to piss you off.
“Jimin. Nice of you to show up…” Charlotte glanced at her wristwatch, “20 minutes later than we agreed upon but it’s better than an hour like last time.”
Jimin removed his eyes from you and looked at your sister with an innocent smile, “I apologize, Charlotte. Things dragged out at the board meeting.” The woman on his arm tugged at it, “And may I introduce Jisoo. My date.”
Han bowed his head and your sister smiled sweetly at her and you… Well, you ignored them.
That was until Charlotte jabbed you in the ribs, “Ow! Hi, whatever.” You grumbled, glaring at her before meeting Jisoo’s smiling face and forced your lips upwards.
“As formal as ever, Y/N.” Jimin drawled before sitting down across from you, his smirk back on his lips, “Where is your date?”
“I came alone.” You answered stiffly.
He scoffed and leaned back in his chair, “As usual.”
Arrogant asshole.
“At least I’m not fucking my way through the female population of Seoul.”
Jisoo opened her mouth to object but a tap on the mic shut all of you up and you just aimed a glare at him. He met you with one of his own. The tension rose at the table and you heard your brother-in-law sigh softly.
“It’s going to be a long evening.” You heard him murmur.
The hours dragged on and so far you’d listened to four long speeches, three performances by some musicians you had never heard of, and had Charlotte remind you of your promise ten times.
You found yourself sitting alone at the table, date-less while your sister was out dancing with Han and Jimin had vanished.
Probably aiming the money-shot between his date’s breasts.
The image of that left a bad taste in your mouth, so you focused on the dancing people on the floor.
You could easily find a willing dance partner. There were loads of young bachelors at such an event like this but they were so boring to you. You didn’t care about numbers, board meetings, or future merges. Charlotte had given up trying to set you up long ago since you scared most of them away.
You deemed your independence a part of your charm. Charlotte didn’t agree.
The ironic part was that the only man here, that could keep up with you, was an arrogant dickwad with a stick so far up his ass, he could pick his teeth with it.
And he was probably fucking his date at the toilet. There you go again with those thoughts.
“Ugh.” You shuddered and willed the images away as you picked up your wine glass and took a sip. The best thing about these events was the free booze.
Too bad you weren’t allowed to get hammered because the last time you got shitfaced, you had dragged Jimin by his collar, trying to get him outside so you could ‘rearrange that stick’. The tabloids had a field day with that instance. It hadn’t been the first time you had threatened to kick his ass and you doubted it would be the last.
Jimin just knew how to push the right buttons.
“No one has asked you for a dance yet?”
Your left eye twitched in annoyance, “No. Not yet. Are you offering?” You asked as you looked at Jimin with a raised brow.
“No. I prefer my dance partners to be more… graceful. I don’t like getting stepped on.”
“But I can be graceful, Jimin.”
“Oh? When?” He asked as he sat down in the chair and crossed his legs.
“When I step on your throat, choking the life out of you.”
“Kinky, Y/N. I didn’t know you had it in you.”
You scoffed and leaned back in your chair, “Where’s your date? Recovering from having your filthy hands on her body?”
“And if she is?”
“Then tell her I know a therapist.”
Jimin threw you a glare, one you returned with an unimpressed, bored look, “She’s in the restroom.”
“Trying to wash away her sins, no doubt.”
“Are you jealous, Y/N? You seem oddly fixated on my sexual interactions.”
You picked up your wine glass and shrugged, “For me to be jealous, Jimin, it would require I had some sort of feelings for you, which I do not other than absolute disgust.” You downed the rest of the wine that was in the glass, deciding you were done entertaining him, “And I’d undoubtedly get more satisfaction by watching old men dance with their young wives than having sex with you.” With that you rose from the table. You flicked a strand of hair over your shoulder as you put your bag on the table, “Now be a good boy and look after my belongings.”
“Where are you going?” He asked stiffly.
“To dance, of course. Might step on a toe or two but what the hell.”
Your escape from the table hadn’t gone as smoothly as you had hoped because Charlotte and Han were nowhere to be found, the men that had approached you were either 60 and above and the bartender hadn’t seemed particularly keen on entertaining you with small talk. So you opted to venture outside instead.
The air was chilly and you shivered a little, rubbing your arms to regain some heat as you looked up. The sky was clear and the stars twinkled while the moon showered the ground in it’s white glow. It was a pretty evening, really. You had the sudden urge to just lay down on the grass and stargaze.
You felt something heavy being draped over your shoulders and you turned around to see a pair of dimples and a bright smile.
You knew those dimples.
And that smile.
Those kind, warm, honeyed eyes.
Your heart sped up.
Before you could open your mouth to greet him, Namjoon booped your nose, “Thought I saw you dash outside. Are you avoiding me?”
You shoved his shoulder, albeit gently with a smile on your lips, “Duh. Of course, I am avoiding you.”
He frowned, “The sex can’t have been that bad.” He pouted.
You rolled your eyes, “It was terrible. Absolutely terrible.”
“You really know how to hurt a man's pride, Y/N.” He chuckled and enveloped you in a tight hug, “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you too, Joonie. I haven’t seen you in, what, 3 months?” You drew back, “I didn’t know you were attending the fundraiser.”
Namjoon kept his arms around your waist as he sheepishly smiled down at you, “I wasn’t planning on attending since I am so busy lately but when Han told me you’d be here, I had to come.”
“Aw, my little Joonie bug.”
He let go of you and you stepped back, “So how is the partnership coming along?” You asked, standing next to him, “Charlotte told me you’ve been super duper uber busy.”
He sighed, “I have been so fucking busy and work has just been taking up all of my time and I am so tired of it.”
“Oh, Joonie.”
“But I can now call myself partner and a board member of Kim & Co Lawyers.”
You squealed, your arms finding purchase around his neck as you jumped up and down of excitement, “OH MY GOD! CONGRATULATIONS!”
Big hand engulfed your face and squished, “Thank you but calm down, sprout. No reason to entertain the whole neighborhood.”
“Buf u gos te parfership.”
“Yes.”
“lso yo ar ruinf te makuf.”
“I am fully aware of that, sprout.”
“Le gof.”
He chuckled and let go of your face, placing his hands on your shoulders instead, “Thank you. But how are you? Charlotte told me you’d be expanding the brand soon.”
You grinned and nodded, “Yes! I am so excited but at the same time also a little sad. That shop has been my bread and butter for 4 years now but it was about time I listened to my sister and expanded… With the help of some investors, of course.”
“Well, I am looking forward to seeing you take over the world, Y/N.”
You snorted and grabbed his hand, “Pfft, I think I’ll just deal with getting my designs on the interwebz first and see how that goes. Now let’s go get some wine and talk shit about other people.”
“There you are!” You and Namjoon halted your conversation as Charlotte appeared between you, “We’ve been looking for you.”
You smiled sheepishly, “Sorry, sis.”
She glared but there was a teasing glint in her eyes, “Joonie has a habit of stealing your time.”
“I’m like the most important man in her life, what did you expect?” Namjoon rolled his eyes as Charlotte bumped his shoulder, “Not in the way you want, woman.”
Your sister huffed and shook her head, “What do I have to pay you to marry Y/N? Seriously, you’re like the only guy that can keep up with her shit and not want to run away.”
“Who says I don’t want to run away?”
You slapped his arm that was draped over the bar counter, “Fuck you. You love me.”
“I do but not enough to get my dick wet.”
“That monster you call a dick wouldn’t fit anyway.”
“Thank you, I guess, for calling it a monster, Y/N, but I would have made it fit. Preparation is key.”
“That’s what I keep saying. Foreplay is an important part of-”
“Alright, I clearly interrupted something here so I would just like to give you the heads up and Han and I are going home.” Charlotte interrupted you and leaned in to kiss you on the cheek, “He’s drunk and I was getting tired anyway.”
“Sure. I’ll see you back home.” You said, wiping at your cheek before turning it towards Namjoon, “Do I have a stain?”
He shook his head before accepting a peck on his cheek from Charlotte, “Nope. Looking smooth as always.”
“You make sure she gets home safely, Joonie.”
“You have nothing to worry about.”
“And not too late, okay?”
“Bye Charlotte! Love you!” You called as she wandered off, dragging a swaying Han with her towards the entrance.
Jimin sat at the table, Jisoo at his side. He had tuned most of her blabbering out, finding the topic ‘what shoes to wear to her friend’s wedding’ quite boring. Instead, his eyes were trained on the dance floor where not many people were dancing.
More specifically you and Namjoon that was talking more than dancing and he saw you smile, laughing at how your dance partner seemed to trip over his own feet.
He scoffed.
“Are you listening to what I’m saying, baby?”
“Of course, Jisoo. The red pair of shoes sounds good.”
His phone vibrated in his pocket and he fished it out, eyes narrowing at the number, he swiped his thumb across the screen.
“Yes?” He said.
“Jimin, hey, it’s Seokjin.”
“I could see on the caller-id.”
There was a brief pause and Jimin held up a hand to silence Jisoo when she yanked at his arm. Then there was a beeping sound and the sound of doors being banged open, “Jin, what’s going on?”
“Sorry about that… I don’t know how to say this but you need to come to the hospital.”
“Why?”
“It’s your brother. Jimin, you need to come and quick.”
His throat felt as dry as sandpaper as he stood up and hung up, eyes darting to your dancing and laughing form on the dancefloor.
“Jimin, baby, where are you going?” Jisoo asked him as he took a step, her hands clinging onto his wrist.
“S-Sorry, I have somewhere I need to be.” He answered, his voice shaky, “I’ll arrange for someone to take you home.”
“Wait!” She called out as he ran towards you.
You were laughing so hard at how Namjoon had just tripped over his own two feet again when Jimin appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, grabbing your wrist, “What the fuck?”
“Fun time is over.” Jimin said and tugged you with him as he headed towards the exit.
You yanked your wrist free, Namjoon appearing at your side, “Um no, it isn’t. What’s with you?” You asked him.
Jimin looked at you and Namjoon, “Y/N.” You raised a brow at the tone of his voice… He sounded scared, “We have to go now.”
“Did something happen?” You immediately grew worried because Jimin never sounded scared.
“Seokjin just called me and… Something happened with Han and Charlotte.”
You had never felt such fear.
The ride to the hospital was tense and quiet. Jimin drove like a maniac through the streets of Seoul while Namjoon had tagged along as support. The two men sat in the front of the car, exchanging no words whatsoever, leaving you to your thoughts running rampant.
Then you arrived at the hospital and everything happened so quickly.
A drunk driver collided with their limousine.
Their driver was killed on impact.
Charlotte and Han were in critical condition.
You had no idea how much time had passed from when you had arrived to when you were sitting on the chair outside the ward, Jimin prancing back and forth like a caged animal.
Then the doctor appeared from the ward and Namjoon was quick to leave your side, going to talk to him.
You stood up, watching as they talked and you felt Jimin’s presence next to you.
Time seemed to slow down when your eyes locked with Namjoon’s, the sadness in his eyes conveying the message you had yet to receive but you knew.
They were gone.
You could feel someone wrap their arms around you as you tumbled to the floor, your own piercing wail deaf to your ears as you felt your chest implode on itself with heartbreak.
Jimin struggled to keep you upright as you collapsed, your cries so very loud in his ears but it didn’t matter. He felt like he couldn’t breathe. He didn’t need to hear why you had broken down. It was clear as day by the way Namjoon looked.
His brother was gone. Your sister was gone. Both of them were gone.
You cried out her name and Jimin tightened his hold on you when you tried to crawl away from him.
He might not like you and you may not like him but he knew that you should not go through this pain alone. So when you clutched his shirt so tightly in your balled fists, your cries finally lowering to whimpering and you buried your head in his chest, Jimin held you tight.
The feeling of time was lost on you when you entered Han and Charlotte’s apartment. Your mind was empty and you were pretty sure your heart had stopped beating.
Mrs. Shin appeared as you took off your shoes and placed your purse on a small table. She looked puzzled upon seeing you, and only you, return.
“Where is…” She trailed off as you grabbed her hand.
“They’re gone.” Was all you said and her shoulders sagged as she moved her free hand to cover her mouth, “Is she sleeping?”
“She is.”
You nodded and walked past her, down the hall, towards Hyejin’s room. The door was slightly ajar and you slowly opened it, finding her room dark except for a small lamp in the corner.
She hated the dark.
Like Charlotte.
You felt tears stream down your cheeks at the thought of your sister but willed them away. You had to be strong now for Hyejin.
Nothing else mattered.
Hyejin woke up when her mattress shifted and she turned her head, rubbing one eye, “Eomma?”
“No, honey. It’s me.”
She sat up, looking puzzled, “Where’s Eomma? She always comes to kiss me goodnight.”
You opened your arms and closed them around her tiny frame, “I know.” You placed your head upon hers and took a deep breath, “Listen, sweetie…”

Difficult day
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!reader
Summary: (based on a prompt) Spencer and Reader give up coffee and help each other by trying to find ways to keep each other awake.
Warnings: Mentions of murder (not real, just ironically, don’t worry, nothing dangerous there.)
Word count: 2.3 k
A/N: Hi there- so uh, this fic is rly meant to be a silly little one, so it's a bit whack,(and not rly written well to me) I just wrote it bc the idea was there and I felt like writing it at 1am……………...so hope u enjoy a bit lmao (also i never drank coffee once, so I just researched stuff online and wrote it)
**
Deciding to start the day without coffee probably was a bad idea to think about, it just hit them while they were talking, and Spencer sort of announced the idea.
“Hey, why don’t we try to give up coffee, and see if we can survive without it, you know.”
What a...excellent idea.
She’s now looking like a zombie, wandering around, and can’t resist the idea of closing her eyes.
Y/N has been up since 6AM, and it’s about...11 now. Which felt more like a whole day.
The worst of all, is that she couldn’t even bug Spencer about it either, he decided to do it as well, but at least, she has a coffee-deprived friend to support her.
The real problem, is that, Hotch might not be happy with the consequences, which are...sleeping at work, so, not working.
What a great day ahead of them, yay.
She’s probably making a fuss about it, as after a bit of searching, it only lasts about a few days or so, but right now, she just wishes it could stop right now.
She already knows that as soon as Spencer is going to walk in the room and launch the subject, a mountain of facts is going to fall, and she wouldn’t even be aware of how long it’s, and when it’s ever going to stop.
Because, even if there’s four facts (which isn’t about to happen), he develops each of them in the form of essays, which seems like a whole conference.
Y/N doesn’t mind, it’s not annoying, she likes to hear about it, it gives more knowledge and stuff, but when it ends to be an essay long, especially when she doesn’t happen to have drunk coffee, things get complicated, in terms of focus.
Such as, being slightly, just a little, really not much irritated, but mostly tired as hell.
Working is not in her plans at all. Sleeping is.
Taking a day long nap, as much as possible, but, fucking work, has decided to annoy her, as much as it could, with a wonderful surprise: a pile of papers, that you have to read, think about, write about- as you think about it, make sure it’s well described, filled out, so your boss doesn’t bug you with it, causing you to re-write it, which...makes you lose motivation, as you have to go through the whole process, which makes you...even more tired.
She seriously has no idea how she’s going to make it through the whole day, and strangely feels like the coffee machine has been mocking her since she arrived.
All she wants is to hide it with whatever is in the room, or smash it against a wall, but that isn’t...possible, as not everyone is doing ‘their challenge’, if that can be seen as one, because to y/n, it’s more of a torture.
If Spencer didn’t have that pretty face to protect, she would punch him in the nose as soon as he’d appear in front of her.
That wasn’t even her idea, she didn’t think that when she mentioned it, he’d take it seriously, resume the subject and make it real.
She really regrets talking about it, because he didn’t just skip it or talk normally, no, Spencer doesn’t do that.
He really had to take it as far as he could.
Now she possibly wants to kill him, but unfortunately remembered that he’s going through the same thing, and will probably want to either kill her, or attempt something less violent, such as making her talk about a subject that interests him on purpose and make an essay out of it.
And, of course, steal all ways of distraction, and make sure she can’t go, because he also ‘tortures’ her by asking questions, and when she can’t answer, he develops it even more which makes the rest of the essay late, and last longer.
Again, it isn’t in a mean way, just annoying her as well.
They often do that, find ways to annoy each other, it’s kind of a habit they picked up throughout the years, they both find it distracting and can be a nice way to distract each other when work happens to be quite annoying.
But, never has she thought that he’d take the joke to the point of what keeps her awake.
That sneaky bastard even left a box of tea on her desk, and she would have probably thrown it out if it wasn’t so expensive.
If only he wasn’t doing it as well, oh, how she would have grabbed a knife from the kitchen to throw it at him.
Also, also, as if it couldn’t get any better, one of them had to stay awake, in case one happens to fall asleep.
Double the dose of fun.
She can’t wait to see him cross...the door.
Strangely, as soon as she told it, Y/N saw a well known face make his way through the bureau.
She even had to keep her from standing up and possibly strangle him.
He didn’t even stop to talk to other people, just said ‘hi’, and basic stuff you say when you arrive at work, and arrived at the conference room.
It happened to be empty, so she took the occasion and settled there.
“Oh, you’re already there? Thought you’d come in later.”
“I came early, because I knew that I’d ignore my alarm and possibly arrive an hour later than you...or not at all.”
“Okay. How are-”
“Dead. What about you?”
“The same.” Spencer said, as he sat up. “So, about it-”
“...knew it.”
“...why don’t we discuss so, you know, we distract ourselves from...the fatigue, and...all of the other effects that come with a coffee withdrawal?”
“Do I look like I have the energy to do that?”
“...no.”
“Then why did you ask?”
“To distract ourselves, as said.”
“My head hurts, I want to sleep, I’m pissed off, how do I even do that?”
“By trying to avoid bright lights...oh, yeah, that doesn’t work.”
“As figured.”
“So...if I understood well, we’re screwed for the rest of the week?”
“Exactly, genius.”
“Great plan.”
“It was your idea.”
“Can’t deny.”
“You could have chosen something else than fucking coffee Spencer.”
“I didn’t have any idea but that.”
“Come on. You always have a ton of stuff in that brain, and just on that day: nothing.”
“My brain lagged.”
“Oh, I forgot your brain is a computer now apparently.”
“It is one, I am my own computer, I just have a system that can fail, like a regular computer.”
“Which OS are you on? Genius OS? Because your ‘intelligent’ system sucks right now. I prefer Windows.”
“Hey, when we agreed to do that, insulting each other wasn’t part of the thing.”
“It’s the only thing I have in mind, because if I don’t do it, I’m either killing you, or sleeping to try to calm down. I could also do both. Murder, then sleep, and I just pretend someone walked in and killed you while I was sleeping.”
“...that’s not very nice.”
“It’s the nicest thing I’ll probably be saying today, so, enjoy.”
“I didn’t know that included you being rude. I’m also tired, but I don’t act meanly.”
“Oh, sorry, did I hurt your feelings?”
“...yes.”
“Too bad.”
“Rude.”
“ ‘s not.”
“If you continue like that, you’re going to be the one keeping watch.”
“We agreed on the other one doing it if one of us falls asleep. None of us are, we’ll see when one of us sleeps.”
"Is this a contest or what? You know that the minute one of us puts his head down on the table, they'll be out if nothing wakes them up?"
"Yeah, I know. But if that's a contest of who can stay awake longer, you're going to lose, you've been on coffee much longer, prepare to suffer."
"You look dead, you're the one that's going to sleep first. I almost caught you dozing off when I walked in."
"No you didn't."
"I did."
"...no."
"You're lying. That small "no" gave it all away."
"I talk like that in general. It's nothing."
"You talk like that just today. The only thing that hasn't changed is your squeaky voice."
"I don't have a squeaky- I have one."
"Told it."
"Oh, shut it."
"You'd be too sad.without my knowledge."
"No...I wouldn't."
"You're smart because of me."
"Mhm. 'f you tell so." She says, propping up her chin on her hands.
"You're already giving up five minutes in. You're very strong."
"Am not. I'm just...putting my hand on my hands, just that."
"Just that."
"Exactly."
"You don't know...how to lie properly." He said, stretching up a bit.
"You're going to be sleeping in a bit too."
"Don't you know me by now? I'm stronger than you."
"Hm. Elevator accident."
"That doesn't count."
"You had a small voice."
"I was just scared, okay? I- I don't like being in small spaces for too long."
"Says the 'strong man'."
"Okay, I'm not as strong as I said, but just a bit more, because being at your level equals being weak."
"Hm. Okay." Y/N lazily responds, as a pair of heels begins clacking onto the floor, the sound growing closer, until a familiar face comes in.
"Is there a meeting I wasn't informed of or what?" Garcia asks.
"No, we just sat here. Trying to stay awake, and y/n is that close to sleeping."
"Shut up, you were about to as well."
"And you're just here like that? Imagine if Hotch even found you guys."
"Yeah that'd- y/n. Y/N." Spencer raised his voice, trying to get her attention.
"Let me." Garcia interrupted, walking to her as she shook her. "Y/N, wake up and stand up, you two are going to follow me."
"Hm…? Where?"
"You're going to stay in my office for a bit, but just for today. I'm taking a risk by doing that."
"Do we get to sleep there?" Spencer asked.
"Just for a bit. Not all day, I'm doing you guys a favor here, you're going to have to find a big way to thank me if Hotch finds out and yells at me."
"Deal." Y/N answers, quickly stretching as she stands up, lazily walking to the exit along with the two.
*
It's been just half an hour until Hotch begins to wander around, wondering why he can't find either of them anywhere.
He just saw them walking in, and now, they're nowhere to be found.
No one else saw them since, and the only person left to ask would be Garcia, she's been in her office all day.
Just when she begins to make her way back, a stern voice calling her name interrupts her.
"Garcia. Did you see Reid and y/l/n?"
"No, I haven't seen them all day..must be doing work." She answers.
"They're in there, aren't they? They're nowhere else."
"...maybe?"
"They're supposed to be working, and I doubt that's what they're doing right now."
"But Hotch, leave them; this is how true love starts in fanfiction. Don't you see it?"
"Fan what…? I really have to get you drug tested some day."
"Fanfiction you know, it's stories that people write, it's all cute, in some they fall in love and all, so, that's why you have to leave them, they fell asleep on each other, and it's so cute."
"Garcia, I thought you agreed to stop reading that stuff at work, didn't you?"
"...I read them on breaks."
“Fanfiction or not, love or not, they’re not supposed to be sleeping, so, please don’t force me to break that door to come in.”
“Don’t yell, they were really tired, so I...offered them to stay. Mostly because I wanted to help, but also because they’re so cute, I couldn’t resist seeing them sleeping together.”
“That depends on how quick they can wake up.” Hotch announces, stepping to the entrance of the room.
When they both step in, you’re both sitting on chairs and Spencer is sleeping against y/n’s shoulder, while her head is on his.
As soon as Garcia wishes for Hotch not to wake them up, he steps further in the room, clearing his throat as his foot tapped against the tiles.
It didn’t take much for them to wake up, everyone knew that when Hotch’s voice was to be heard, you definitely had to be awake if you wanted to avoid a sermon.
"I'm awake, I'm awake!" Y/N stated, as if it could make the situation somehow better.
"Reid." Hotch said.
"I'm there, I- oh, did I...fall asleep on your shoulder? Sorry for that."
"As much as I'd like to reassure you, Hotch is behind, so that'll have to wait."
"Oh...sir."
"Care to explain?"
"Well uh...I don't think I actually have one."
"...we didn't have coffee for a day or two because we decided to stop so, yeah."
"Does this even look like a valuable reason?"
"No." They both admit.
"If I see this happen again, you're aware of the consequences."
"Yes sir." Spencer responds.
"Absolutely." Y/N answers, as the eyes of the group follow Hotch leaving the room, a sigh exiting their lips. "That was...the worst moment of my life."
"You two are disappointing, I was so excited to see a real life fanfiction, but you had to get caught."
"Garcia it doesn't exist, stop reading these. It's not like we're in love."
"It's because you don't know how to recognize true love y/n. You're a newbie."
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Fairy tale stuff, you know. The couple falls in love, eventually gets married, has kids , and everything ends well."
"I think we should talk to Hotch about getting you to take a drug test or other." Spencer pointed out.
"We should."

second chances ≫ DAY FOUR, BROKEN PROMISE.
as a feral wolf hybrid that was violent with all of the employees assigned to him, seonghwa was subjected to be put down. however, jiyu being the softhearted feral hybrid nurse she was, she decided to save seonghwa no matter what.

✧ notes: just for reference, i pictured hwa with his light brown hair from inception/thanxx hehe
back。| next。
“please don’t fall asleep out here, i really can’t carry you back.”
seonghwa lazily opened an eye to stare up at jiyu. “then call someone to help,” was all he said before he shut his eye again.
true to her word, she took seonghwa out to their facility field the the next day. residing in the shade of a huge tree, seonghwa laid on his back, crossed his arms underneath his head, and closed his eyes. it was a tranquil experience for him.
jiyu, who was sitting next to him, slightly pouted. “what if i just left you out here?”
“we both know you don’t have the heart to do that,” he softly snorted.
her pout grew deeper. he was right, she really wouldn’t leave him out here on his own. looking down at the hybrid laying next to her, she took in his peaceful and relaxed expression. she’s never seen him look so at peace before—he was always tense and on guard.
“my eyes may be closed but I can feel your stare,” he mumbled. “am i that interesting to look at?” a small smirk spread across his lips.
jiyu slightly scoffed. “who knew the quiet park seonghwa would be so cocky,” she teased.
tearing her eyes away from seonghwa, she looked up at cloud–dotted sky. the phone call from the previous day still plauged her mind. she did everything to try to forget—she even watched cat videos until 3 AM. which was a mistake since she slept through all of her alarms and woke up ten minutes before she was suppose to leave for work.
seonghwa cracked an eye open and turned his head over to peer up at jiyu through his light brown fringes. for whatever reason, jiyu didn’t seem like herself ever since yesterday. sure she smiled, but the smile never reached her eyes.
it surprised him. usually, he didn’t really give a care about the humans that looked after him in the facility. maybe with the exception of the man named yeonjun, but only because he dyed his hair in a vibrant yellow color that would catch anyone’s attention. but he would catch himself observing jiyu whenever he could.
he sighed. “you’re frowning again.”
“hm?” jiyu seemed to snap out of whatever trance she was in and returned her attention back to the hybrid laying next to her. “did you say something?”
“i said you were frowning again,” he repeated as he sat up. now the two were sitting side–by–side under the shade of the huge tree. “you’ve been frowning a lot lately.”
jiyu’s eyes slightly widened at his comment. he’d been observing her? she mindlessly flicked the dirt specks off of his hospital gown shirt with a breezy chuckle. “i have been, huh,” she murmured. “sorry if it bothers you.”
now it was seonghwa’s turn to frown. “i never said it bothered me,” he defended. “if anything, i’m curious as to where that smiley and peppy caretaker from a few days ago went.” although he was smirking, he was pretty worried about her.
jiyu lightly punched his arm with a small pout. “she’s still here. just troubled with some issues—”
“jiyuuuu!”
interrupted by a very familiar voice, jiyu turned towards the running puppy hybrid and braced herself for impact. “beomgyu, wait—”
but the impact never came.
instead, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her and she was pulled out of the way. feeling her back come into contact with a hard chest, she looked up with surprise to see seonghwa glaring at poor beomgyu while protectively holding her against him.
beomgyu squeaked and hid behind the tree from seonghwa’s intimidating glare.
jiyu snapped out of her shock. “oh no, no, no, gyu. it’s okay,” she gently cooed to the scared hybrid behind the tree.
she gently patted seonghwa’s arm. “don’t worry, he may be energetic, but he’s harmless. i promise,” she sheepishly reassured. “you can let go.”
giving her an apprehensive look, he slowly unwrapped his arms from her. he watched as she slowly went behind the tree to try and calm the shivering puppy hybrid. beomgyu was his name, right?
jiyu squatted next to beomgyu, who was laying huddled up against the trunk of the tree while hiding his face in his arms. his ears were flat against his head, a sign that he was terrified. “gyu, it’s me,” she gently patted his head. “don’t be afraid.”
beomgyu peeked up. “h–he was s–scary...” he whimpered.
“i know, bub. but that was because you came out of nowhere screaming. it probably scared him,” she reasoned. “but he won’t hurt you, okay? you can stay with me if you’re still scared.”
beomgyu hesitantly unravelled himself out of his huddled form and with jiyu’s help, stood up. “s–soobin was with me...” he mumbled as he looked down and fiddled with his fingers.
jiyu furrowed her eyebrows and looked around. “soobin? then where is he?” she asked. coming around the tree, she saw seonghwa focusing on a bush. seeing the bush slightly trembling, she put two –and–two together. “seonghwa, stop glaring at the bush, you’re scaring the poor bunny,” she gently scolded as she made her way towards the bush. beomgyu stayed glued to her and nervously glanced at seonghwa.
squatting and parting the bush leaves, she found soobin in a protective huddle position, similar to beomgyu’s. soobin’s long, white bunny ears covered his eyes and he even covered his eyes with his hands.
“binnie,” she gently called out to the shaking bunny. “don’t be afraid, seonghwa won’t hurt you or beomgyu, okay?”
soobin removed his ears from his eyes and he peered at her through his fingers. “pinky promise?” he squeaked and extended his pinky towards her.
jiyu nodded with a smile and linked her pinky with his. “pinky promise.”
soobin slowly stood up from behind the bush, showing his full height that made seonghwa’s eyes slightly widen. the boy was practically a six–foot giant bunny.
soobin and beomgyu, despite being heads taller than jiyu, hid behind her and peeked out to glance at the sitting wolf hybrid. it was an amusing sight—beomgyu peeked around her left side while soobin to the right.
“seonghwa, this is soobin,” she gestured to the bunny hybrid, “and this is beomgyu,” she gestured to the puppy. “they’re harmless, so let’s not glare or growl at them, deal?” she asked, although there wasn’t really room in her tone for seonghwa to protest.
seonghwa’s intimidating stare morphed into one of curiousity as he nodded. looking at their scared forms, he figured they really were harmless. his tail calmly swayed from side–to–side.
jiyu gently nudged soobin and beomgyu from behind her. “it’s okay, go on,” she encouraged.
beomgyu was the first to slowly approach the wolf hybrid. clutching his tail to help him calm down, beomgyu sat by seonghwa. the two sat in silence for a moment before beomgyu broke out into a grin. “wah! he really is harmless!” he chirped to soobin, who was still standing behind jiyu.
jiyu chuckled at seonghwa’s surprised expression before rubbing soobin’s back. “see? everything’s okay,” she gently said. “wanna go sit with them?”
soobin nodded and slowly shuffled towards beomgyu and sat next to him. now it was seonghwa and soobin’s turn to stare at each other for a moment before soobin’s tensed form relaxed and a tiny smile spread across his face.
jiyu let out a breath of relief that she didn’t even realize she was holding in. seeing the three slowly opening up to each other warmed her heart.
but what made her genuinely smile for the first time in two days was seeing seonghwa smile.
a small smile was on his face as he conversed with beomgyu and soobin, and it was a sight to see. who would’ve thought that the “intimidating and violent” park seonghwa, or so everyone claimed, possessed the most adorable smile?
an hour eventually passed with the three talking as if they’ve been best friends their whole lives. well, it was more of beomgyu talking whilst soobin and seonghwa nodded along as they tried keeping up with the hyper boy’s words.
jiyu chuckled as she watched. she felt her phone vibrate in her white coat pocket. fishing the device out, her smile dropped seeing the person calling.
her dad.
quietly stepping away far enough from the three hybrids, she picked up the phone with a shaky breath. “hello?”
“jiyu, you didn’t send me your candidates last night,” his firm voice answered. not even a “hello”.
jiyu looked down and clenched her other hand into a fist. anger and sadness coursed through her, but she knew better than to blow up on the man.
“sorry, things were hectic yesterday,” she coldly replied.
“was it really, or are you just delaying?” he asked. “i seriously don’t understand why you decided to follow your mother’s footsteps.”
“and that’s a bad thing?” she shot back. it pissed jiyu; her father sounded apathetic, and perhaps even condescending, when he referred to her mother. did he not care for her anymore now that she was gone? “do you not care about her? why do you sound so disgusted?” her voice wavered from her emotions.
“don’t you dare say i never cared, jiyu!” he warned. “everything i’m doing now is for you and your mother.”
by that point, jiyu was trembling from the anger. “are you listening to yourself right now?! do you really think mom would be proud of you if she were still here?! you’re practically playing god in my life!”
“jiyu, we’re not having this discussion again,” her father said with finality. “send me your picks by tonight or there will be consequences.”
and he hung up.
jiyu stood there, frozen speechless. her emotions were all over the place—she didn’t know if she wanted to scream or cry. she was confused, and a mess. the arm holding her phone went limp against her side and she stared up at the sky again. what did i do so wrong to deserve this? she felt her eyes water and she closed her eyes to compose herself.
unbeknownst to her, the three hybrids overheard bits and pieces of her phone call. beomgyu slowly approached her and nuzzled his head in the crook of her neck. soobin and seonghwa stood a little ways back.
“are you okay?” beomgyu asked with a saddened gaze.
opening her eyes and craning her neck down to look at beomgyu, she softly smiled. “don’t worry, gyu. i’m okay,” she reassured as she reached up to ruffle his hair.
but anyone could see how red her eyes were. anyone could tell she was hiding her sadness.
seonghwa stomped over to stand in front of the two. he bent down to match jiyu’s height and stared at her straight in the eyes. beomgyu scrambled back to soobin after feeling seonghwa’s strange aura.
“stop lying.”
jiyu’s eyes widened. “what?”
“stop lying that you’re okay,” he firmly repeated. he knew that he was overstepping his boundaries, but at this point, he didn’t really care. “anyone with half a brain cell can tell you’re not okay. if you want to cry, then cry. how can you take care of hybrids when you can’t take care of yourself first?”
soobin and beomgyu stood and watched with shock at seonghwa’s outburst. jiyu didn’t know what to say. she looked down at her shoes as she felt the tears return to her eyes after hearing seonghwa’s words.
seonghwa sighed. “i know i’m overstepping my boundaries, but seeing you lie about being okay—”
he heard a sniffle. and then another.
peering down further, he realized that jiyu was crying. her eyes were squeezed shut, but the tears were still leaking through. small sobs wracked through her body.
“i–i didn’t mean to make you cry—”
soobin and beomgyu immediately rushed to her side and nuzzled their heads in the crook of her neck and on her head. frankly, none of them have ever witnessed her cry, so they were clueless on how to help. they just followed their animal instincts.
“n–no, it’s n–not your f–fault,” she said in between sniffles. she lifted her head up and gently wiped her tears away. “i g–guess i kind of n–needed to hear that,” she tearily chuckled. “i never really told anyone besides yeonjun about my problems. no one can really help anyways, so what’s the point in trying to confide in someone?”
she looked at seonghwa and a small, grateful smile made it’s way onto her face. “but thank you for caring. it means a lot to me,” she said. she couldn’t describe how much she meant those words.
seonghwa’s face may have slightly softened from her words, but the nagging voice in the back of his head never calmed down. clearly she was bothered by something—or rather someone, judging from that phone call. so why was she hiding it and claiming that no one could help her? just what exactly was happening to her?
feeling a hand on his head, he snapped out of his thoughts and saw jiyu reaching up to gently rub his head. he took note of her red eyes. “now look who’s frowning,” she teased. “come on, i need to bring you guys back inside before the nurses freak out.”
she escorted them back to their respective rooms, seonghwa’s being the last one. entering the key code, his door automatically opened and jiyu gestured him in with a smile. “well, that’s all for today. let me know whenever you want to go out again and i’ll take you, okay?”
seonghwa nodded and stepped into his room before turning back around to face jiyu.
“...i’ll be here.”
jiyu cocked her head at his words. “huh?”
“i’ll be here...if you want to talk. only if you want to though!” he shyly offered. his head and ears drooped and he played with his tail out of embarrassment. he’d usually never do this for someone—go out of his way to help. he didn’t know why, but he felt as if he could trust and put his guard down for jiyu. he peeked up through his bangs, waiting for a response.
jiyu’s eyes widened out of surprise before she softly grinned. not a big smile like he was used to seeing, but it looked a little more genuine. “thank you, seonghwa,” she said. “i’ll be sure to keep your offer in mind.”
the moment seonghwa’s door shut, jiyu’s smile dropped. despite his comforting words, she was still conflicted and scared. she’s already accepted the fact that she may never understand her father’s motives, but sometimes, she wished she had some closure.
but that wasn’t the only reason for her gloom.
from the beginning, she knew she shouldn’t get too attached to the hybrids she took care of. that was the one thing she promised herself; to not get too attached otherwise it’d make leaving harder.
but promises are meant to be broken. and this one was no different.

spn quotes: season three
i’m collecting a bunch of quotes from the show! my favorite lines, good points of characterization, etc. all organized by episode and character, and with timestamps!
w/ncest shippers get lost
season one. two.
1. THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
Dean—
[Bobby: So we're eating bacon cheeseburgers for breakfast, are we?] Well, sold my soul, got a year to live. I ain't sweating the cholesterol. (07:04)
[Tamara: I'm heading back to that bar.] I'll go with her. [Sam: It's suicide, Dean!] So what? I'm dead already! (21:27)
[Envy: You really think you're better than me. Which one of you can cast the first stone? Huh? What about you, Dean? You're practically a walking billboard of gluttony and lust.] (24:46)
[Sam: Think she's gonna be alright?] No. Definitely not. (34:18)
[Sam: What, you got some kind of death wish or something?] It's not like that. [Then what's it like, Dean?] Sam— [Please. Tell me.] We trap the crossroads demon, trick it, try to welch our way out of the deal in any way, you die. Okay? You die. Those are the terms, there's no way out of it. If you try to find a way, so help me God, I'm gonna stop you. [How could you make that deal, Dean?] 'Cause I couldn't live with you dead. Couldn't do it. [So what, now I live and you die?] That's the general idea, yeah. [Yeah, well, you're a hypocrite, Dean. How did you feel when Dad sold his soul for you? 'Cause I was there. I remember. You were twisted and broken. And now you go and do the same thing. To me. What you did was selfish.] Yeah, you're right. It was selfish. But I'm okay with that. [I'm not.] Tough. After everything I've done for this family, I think I'm entitled. Truth is, I'm tired, Sam. I don't know, it's like there's a light at the end of the tunnel. [It's hellfire, Dean!] Whatever. You're alive, I feel good for the first time in a long time. I got a year to live, Sam, I'd like to make the most of it. So what do you say we kill some evil sons of bitches and we raise a little hell. Huh? (37:12)
Sam—
Look. If we're going down, we're going down together, alright? (27:09)
[Pride: And you...are Sam Winchester. That's right, I've heard of ya. We've all heard of ya. The prodigy, the boy king. Looking at you now, I gotta tell ya.... Don't believe the hype. You think I'm gonna bow to a cut-rate, piss-poor human like you? I have my pride, after all. And now with your yellow-eyed friend dead, I guess I don't really have to do a damn thing now, do I? You're fair game now, boy, and it's open season.] (31:51)
You know what? I've had it. I've been bending over backwards trying to be nice to you, and...I don't care anymore. [Dean: That didn't last long.] Yeah, well, you know what? I've been busting my ass trying to keep you alive, Dean, and you act like you couldn't care less. What, you got some kind of death wish or something? (36:56)
[Dean: I couldn't live with you dead. Couldn't do it.] So what, now I live and you die? [That's the general idea, yeah.] Yeah, well, you're a hypocrite, Dean. How did you feel when Dad sold his soul for you? 'Cause I was there. I remember. You were twisted and broken. And now you go and do the same thing. To me. What you did was selfish. (37:44)
Misc—
Greed: We're not sins, man. We are natural, human instinct. And you can repress and deny us all you want, but the truth is, you are just animals. Horny, greedy, hungry, violent animals. And you know what? You'll be slaughtered like animals, too. (25:32)
2. THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT
Dean—
[Lisa: You can relax.] Good. [I swear you look disappointed.] Yeah, I don't know. It's weird, you know, your life. I mean, this house and kid. It's not my life, never will be. Some stuff happened to me recently, uh.... Anyway, a guy in my situation—you start to think, you know, "I'm gonna be gone one day, and what am I leaving behind besides a car?" [I don't know. Ben may not be your kid, but he wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you. That's a lot, if you ask me.] You know, just for the record, you got a great kid. I would've been proud to be his dad. (26:18)
Sam—
[Ruby: All I know is that it's about you.] What? [Don't you get it, Sam? It's all about you. What happened to your mom, what happened to her friends—they're trying to cover up what he did to you. And I want to help you figure it out.] Why would you want to help me? [I have my reasons. Not all demons are the same, Sam. Not all of us want the same thing. Me? I want to help you from time to time. That's all. And if you let me, there's something in it for you.] What could you possibly— [I could help you save your brother.] (40:40)
3. BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK
Dean—
Just Dad. You know, him and his secrets. We spent all this time with the guy and it's like we barely even know the man. (06:20)
Oh wow! It's my first sawed-off. I made it myself. Sixth grade. (07:59)
That's what killed your friend. My brother here is next. And who knows how many more innocent people after that. Now, if you don't help us stop this thing, then that puts those deaths on your head. Now, I can read people. And I get it. You're a thief and a scumbag. That's fine. But you're not a killer. Are you? (22:46)
So you know the truth about what's really going on out there and this is what you decide to do with it? You become a thief? [Bela: I procure unique items for a select clientele.] Yeah. A thief. (29:46)
So you're only after yourself, huh? It's all about number one? [Bela: Being a hunter is so much more noble? A bunch of obsessed, revenge-driven sociopaths trying to save a world that can't be saved.] Well, aren't you a glass half-full. [We're all going to Hell, Dean. Might as well enjoy the ride.] I actually agree with you there. (31:30)
The hell is wrong with you?! You don't just go around shooting people like that! (36:04)
Sam—
[Dean: She knows what your weakness is. It's me.] (03:32)
[Dean: You're okay, right? I mean, you're feeling okay?] Yes, I'm fine! Why are you always asking me that? (04:04)
No way! That's my division championship soccer trophy. I can't believe he kept this! [Dean: It was probably the closest you ever came to being a boy.] (07:45)
4. SIN CITY
Dean—
[Casey: Lose something?] All you demons have such smart mouths. [It's a gift.] Yeah. Well, let's see if you're smiling when I send your ass back to Hell. [Without your little exorcism book? Hey, go ahead.] Spiritus immunde. Ungo— [Having a little trouble there, sport?] Spiritus immunde, undolara. Pasonitote.... [Nice try, but I think you just ordered a pizza. Guess you should've paid more attention in Latin class.] I don't know what you're smiling about. You're not going anywhere. [And, apparently, neither are you.] Yeah, but I got somebody coming for me, and uh, he did pay attention in class. (20:02)
[Casey: You Winchester boys are famous. Not Lohan famous, but, you know.] Well. That's...flattering. I'll be sure to let Sam know when he gets here. (20:58)
So demons take over. I thought the meek shall inherit the earth. [Casey: Oh, according to your Bible. It's only a book, Dean.] Not everyone would agree. [Because it's God's book? Do you believe in God, Dean? I'd be surprised if you did.] I don't know. I'd like to. (24:59)
[Casey: You're alright, Dean. The others don't describe you that way. But, you know, you're...you're likable.] A demon likes me. Sorry, I don't know how to respond to that. (29:34)
[Casey: That deal you made to save Sam—a lot of others would mock you for it, think it was weak or stupid. I don't.] It's been kind of liberating, actually. I mean, what's the point in worrying about a future when you don't have one, huh? [Still, a year to live. You're not scared?] No. [Not even a little?] Of course not. (29:50)
Sam—
Oh God. Uh. I'm sorry. That's—just—I think this was just a minor misunderstanding? yeah, okay, um. How 'bout I just—I just leave, 'cause—I'll take these—okay, I'll, uh, I'll leave this for, uh...you, uh...have a nice day? (17:20)
[Dean: Yeah, but I got somebody coming for me, and uh, he did pay attention in class.] [Casey: Oh, right, Sam. Everyone says he's the brains of the outfit.] [Everyone?] [Sure! You Winchester boys are famous. Not Lohan famous, but, you know.] (20:46)
Yeah, I like being able to help people. [Father Gil: Ever think about doing anything else?] Like what? [Hm. Anything. You seem like a pretty smart kid. Somehow I see you out in front of the pack. You could do some great things.] I don't know. I like what I'm doing, I guess. [Well, it's your life. Does, um, Dean?] Yeah, Dean. [Does he find trouble often?] Yeah. Yeah, Dean finds his fair share. [Hm. Well, it's a good thing he has you. His brother's keeper.] (30:32)
[Ruby: You're gonna have to do things that go against that gentle nature of yours. There'll be collateral damage, but it has to be done.] Well, I don't have to like it. [No. You wouldn't be Sam if you did.] (39:24)
Misc—
Casey: You don't get it. All you gotta do is nudge humans in the right direction. Some whiskey here, a hooker there, and they'll walk right into hell with big, fat smiles on their faces. Your kind is corrupt, Dean. Weak. Our will's stronger. That's why we'll win. (23:55)
Casey: What, you think humans have an exclusive on a higher power? [Dean: You have a God?] Sure. His name's Lucifer. [You mean the Devil?] Your word, not ours. "Lucifer" actually means "light bringer." Look it up. Once he was the most beautiful of all God's angels. But God demanded that he bow down before man, and when he refused, God banished him. Tell me, Dean. How do you like bowing before lesser creatures? [Lucifer's really real?] Well, no one's actually seen him, but they say that he made us into what we are, and they say that he'll return. [Oh yeah? And, uh, you believe that?] I've got faith. [Hm.] So, you see? Is my kind really all that different than yours? [Well, except that, uh, demons are evil.] And humans are such a lovable bunch. (26:39)
Casey: [Hell] is a pit of despair. Why do you think we want to come here? (28:02)
Casey: Sam was supposed to be the grand poo-bah and lead the big army, but he hasn't exactly stepped up to the plate, has he? [Dean: Thank God for that.] Again with God. You think this is a good thing? Now you've got chaos, a war without a front, hundreds of demons all jockeying for power, all fighting for the crown, most of them gunning for your brother. (32:22)
5. BEDTIME STORIES
Dean—
[Sam: I don't understand, Dean, why not?] Because I said so. [We got the Colt now.] Sam— [We can summon the crossroads demon—] We're not summoning anything. [—pull the gun on her, and force her to let you out of the deal!] We don't even know if that'll work! [Well then, we'll just shoot her! If she dies, the deal goes away!] We don't know if that will work either, Sam! All you're pitching me right now are a bunch of "if's" and "maybe's," and that's not good enough! Because if we screw with this deal, you die! [And if we don't screw with it, you die!] Sam, enough! I'm not gonna have this conversation! [Why, because you said so?] Yes, because I said so! [Well, you're not Dad!] No, but I am the oldest. And I'm doing what's best. You gotta let this go, you understand me? (03:46)
[Sam: Is that what you want me to do, Dean? Just let you go?] (33:26)
Sam—
[Kyle: Those were my brothers. This guy, he killed my brothers. How would you feel?] Can't imagine anything worse. (06:34)
Look, Callie is killing people. She's angry. She's desperate because nobody will listen to her. So you have to listen to her. Please. Listen to your daughter. (29:28)
[Crossroads Demon: Aren't you tired of cleaning up Dean's messes? Of dealing with that broken psyche of his? Aren't you tired of being bossed around like a snot-nosed little brother? You're stronger than Dean. You're better than him.] Watch your mouth. [Admit it—you're here going through the motions, but truth is, you'll be a tiny bit relieved when he's gone.] Shut up. [No more desperate, sloppy, needy Dean. You can finally be free.] I said, shut up. [Huh. Doth protest too much, if you ask me.] (37:15)
6. RED SKY AT MORNING
Dean—
Somebody stole my car?! [Sam: Hey hey hey, calm down.] I am calmed down! Somebody stole my— *nearly has a heart attack* (08:15)
[Bela: He can't be saved in time, and you know it.] Yeah, well, see, we have souls, so we're gonna try. (12:39)
Hey, Bela, how did you get like this, huh? What, did Daddy not give you enough hugs or something? [Bela: I don't know. Your Daddy not give you enough? Don't you dare look down your nose at me. You're no better than I am.] We help people. [Come on. You do this out of vengeance and obsession. You're a stone's throw from being a serial killer.] (12:57)
This is an uncrashable party without Gert's invitation, so— [Sam: We can crash anything, Dean.] Yeah, I know, but this is easier and it's a lot more entertaining. (21:57)
I'm thinking. [Bela: Don't strain yourself. Interesting, how the legend is so much more than the man.] (23:12)
Screw you. [Bela: Very Oscar Wilde.] (24:32)
So ponying up ten grand is easier for you than a simple thank you? You're so damaged. [Bela: Takes one to know one.] (38:08)
Hey, listen, I've been doing some thinking. Um...I want you to know I understand why you did it. I understand why you went after the crossroads demon. You know, situation was reversed, I guess I'd have done the same thing. I mean, I'm not blind. I see what you're going through with this whole deal. Me going away and all that. But you're gonna be okay. [Sam: You think so?] Yeah, you'll keep hunting. You know, you'll live your life. You're stronger than me. You are! You are, you'll get over it. But I want you to know I'm sorry, I'm sorry for...putting you through all this, I am. (38:56)
[Sam: That's the whole problem in the first place. I don't want you to worry about me, Dean. I want you to worry about you. I want you to give a crap that you're dying.] (39:52)
Sam—
[Dean: It was a stupid friggin' risk, you shouldn't have done it.] I shouldn't have done it? You're my brother. No matter what you do, I'm gonna try to save you, and I'm sure as hell not gonna apologize for it, alright? (04:32)
[Dean: Can I shoot her?] Not in public. (09:55)
[Dean: You can't save everybody, Sam.] Yeah, right. S—so, what? You feel better now or what? [No, not really.] Yeah, me neither. [You gotta under—] Just lately I feel like I can't save anybody. (16:24)
[Dean: I can't believe she got another one over on us.] You. [What?] I mean—I mean, she got one over on you, not us. [Thank you, Sam. Very helpful. (31:12)
[Dean: You're gonna be okay.] You think so? [Yeah, you'll keep hunting. You know, you'll live your life. You're stronger than me. You are! You are, you'll get over it. But I want you to know I'm sorry, I'm sorry for...putting you through all this, I am.] You know what, Dean? Go screw yourself. [What?] I don't want an apology from you. And by the way, I'm a big boy now, I can take care of myself. [Oh, well, excuse me.] So would you please quit worrying about me? I mean, that's the whole problem in the first place. I don't want you to worry about me, Dean. I want you to worry about you. I want you to give a crap that you're dying. (39:20)
Misc—
[Sam: What'd you do, Bela?] Bela: You wouldn't understand. No one did. Nevermind. I'll just do what I've always done. I'll deal with it myself. [Dean: You do realize you just sold the only thing that could save your life.] I'm aware. (34:01)
7. FRESH BLOOD
Dean—
[Sam: There you are!] Yeah. Sorry, I stopped for a slice. [Nice move back there, Dean, running right at the weapons.] Well, what can I say? I'm a badass. (14:02)
I want you to stay out of harm's way. I'll take care of it. [Sam: Well, Dean, you're not going by yourself. You're gonna get yourself killed!] Just another day at the office. It's a massively dangerous day at the office. [So what, you're the guy with nothing to lose now, huh? Oh, wait. Let me guess. Because uh.... It's because you're already dead, right?] If the shoe fits. [You know what, man? I'm sick and tired of your old, stupid kamikaze trip.] Whoa, whoa. Kamikaze? I'm more like a ninja. [That's not funny.] It's a little funny. [No, it's not.] What do you want me to do, Sam? Huh? Sit around all day writing sad poems about how I'm gonna die? You know what? I got one. Let's see. What rhymes with "Shut up, Sam"? [Dude. Drop the attitude, Dean. Quit turning everything into a punch line. And you know something else? Stop trying to act like you're not afraid.] I'm not. [You're lying! And you may as well drop it 'cause I can see right through you.] You got no idea what you're talking about. [Yeah, I do. You're scared, Dean. You're scared because your year is running out and you're still going to Hell and you're freaked.] And how do you know that? [Because I know you!] Really? [Yeah, because I've been following you around my entire life! I mean, I've been looking up to since I was four, Dean—studying you, trying to be just like my big brother. So yeah, I know you. Better than anyone else in the entire world. And this is exactly how you act when you're terrified. And I mean, I can't blame you. It's just....] What? [It's just, I wish you would drop the show and be my brother again, 'cause.... Just 'cause.] (28:16)
That's my job, right? Show my little brother the ropes? (39:01)
Sam—
[Dean: And how do you know that?] Because I know you! [Really?] Yeah, because I've been following you around my entire life! I mean, I've been looking up to since I was four, Dean—studying you, trying to be just like my big brother. So yeah, I know you. Better than anyone else in the entire world. And this is exactly how you act when you're terrified. And I mean, I can't blame you. It's just.... [What?] It's just, I wish you would drop the show and be my brother again, 'cause.... Just 'cause. (29:17)
[Gordon: You're right. I'm a bloodthirsty killer.] Don't talk about it like you don't have a choice. [I don't.] Yes, you do, Gordon. (34:03)
Misc—
Gordon: We're the same now, you and me. I know how it is, walking around with something evil inside you. It's just too bad you won't do the right thing and kill yourself. I'm gonna! As soon as I'm done with you. Two last good deeds: killing you, and killing myself. (34:56)
8. A VERY SUPERNATURAL CHRISTMAS
Dean—
Santa doesn't have a brother. There is no Santa. [Sam: Yeah, I know. You're the one who told me that in the first place, remember?] (04:57)
Hey, speaking of, we should have one this year. [Sam: Have one what?] A Christmas! [No, thanks.] No, we'll get a tree, a little Boston Market—just like when we were little. [Dean, those weren't exactly Hallmark memories for me, you know?] What are you talking about? We had some great Christmases! [Whose childhood are you talking about?] Oh, come on, Sam. [No! Just...no.] Alright, Grinch. (05:43)
[Sam: I'm old enough, Dean. You can tell me the truth.] You don't wanna know the truth. Believe me. [Is that why we never talk about...Mom?] Shut up! Don't you ever talk about Mom! Ever! (07:32)
Why are you the boy that hates Christmas? [Sam: Dean—] I mean, I admit it, we had a few bumpy holidays when we were kids. [Bumpy?] That was then! We'll do it right this year. (10:24)
Remember that wreath Dad brought home thy one year? [Sam: You mean the one he stole from like, a liquor store?] Yeah, it was a bunch of empty beer cans. That thing was great. I bet if I looked around hard enough, I could probably find one just like it. (18:30)
[Sam: Alright. Dude. What's going on with you?] What? [I mean, since when are you Bing Crosby all of a sudden? Why do you want to do Christmas so bad?] Why are you so against it? I mean, were your childhood memories that traumatic? [No, that has nothing to do with it.] Then what? [I mean, I just—I don't get it. I—you haven't talked about Christmas in years.] Well, yeah? This is my last year. (18:47)
We have the coolest dad in the world. He's a superhero. [Sam: He is?] Yeah. Monsters are real. Dad fights 'em. He's fighting them right now. [But Dad said the monsters under my bed weren't real.] That's 'cause he'd already checked under there. (21:20)
Sam—
[Dean: Santa doesn't have a brother. There is no Santa.] Yeah, I know. You're the one who told me that in the first place, remember? (04:57)
[Dean: Hey, speaking of, we should have one this year.] Have one what? [A Christmas!] No, thanks. [No, we'll get a tree, a little Boston Market—just like when we were little.] Dean, those weren't exactly Hallmark memories for me, you know? [What are you talking about? We had some great Christmases!] Whose childhood are you talking about? [Oh, come on, Sam.] No! Just...no. (05:43)
Alright. Dude. What's going on with you? [Dean: What?] I mean, since when are you Bing Crosby all of a sudden? Why do you want to do Christmas so bad? [Why are you so against it? I mean, were your childhood memories that traumatic?] No, that has nothing to do with it. [Then what?] I mean, I just—I don't get it. I—you haven't talked about Christmas in years. [Well, yeah? This is my last year.] I know. That's why I can't. [What do you mean?] I mean, I can't just sit around, drinking eggnog, pretending everything's okay, when I know next Christmas you'll be dead. I just can't. (18:47)
[Edward: You, mister, better show us a little respect.] Or what? You'll eat us? (29:29)
Here. Take this. [Dean: No. No, that's for Dad.] Dad lied to me. I want you to have it. [You sure?] I'm sure. (37:02)
9. MALLEUS MALEFICARUM
Dean—
I hate witches. They're always spewing their bodily fluids everywhere. [Sam: Pretty much.] It's creepy, you know, it's downright unsanitary! (05:05)
[Ruby: Why are you even a part of this conversation?] Oh, I don't know, maybe because he's my brother, you black-eyed skank! [Oh, right, right! And you care about your brother so much. That's why you're checking out in a few months, leaving him all alone?] Shut up. [At least let me try and save him since you won't be here to do it anymore.] I said shut up! (19:22)
It tasted like ass. (24:36)
So all of them? Every damn demon, they were all human once? [Ruby: Everyone I've ever met.] Well, they sure don't act like it. [Most of them have forgotten what it means, or even that they were. That's what happens when you go to Hell, Dean. That's what Hell is: forgetting what you are.] Philosophy lesson from a demon. I'll pass, thanks. [It's not philosophy. It's not a metaphor. There's a real fire in the pit, agonies you can't even imagine.] No, I saw Hellraiser. I get the gist. [Actually, they got that pretty close, except for all the custom leather. The answer is yes, by the way.] Sorry? [Yes, the same thing will happen to you. It might take centuries, but sooner or later, Hell will burn away your humanity. Every Hell-bound soul, everyone turns into someone else. Turns you into us, so yeah—yeah, you can count on it.] There's no way of saving me from the pit, is there? [No.] (35:42)
Sam—
They need to be stopped. [Dean: Stopped like, stopped? They're human, Sam.] They're murderers. (17:49)
[Dean: Are you feeling okay?] Why are you always asking me that? [Because you're taking advice from a demon, for starters. And by the way, you seem less and less worried about offing people, you know. It used to eat you up inside.] Yeah? And what has that gotten me? [Nothing, but it's just what you're supposed to do, okay? We're supposed to drive in the freaking car and freaking argue about this stuff! You know, you go on about the sanctity of life and all that crap.] Wait, so you're mad because I'm starting to agree with you? [No, I'm not mad! I'm—I'm...I'm worried, Sam, because you're not acting like yourself.] Yeah, you're right, I'm not! I don't have a choice! (20:45)
Look, Dean, you're leaving, right? And I gotta stay here in this crap hole of a world. Alone. So the way I see it, if I'm gonna make it, if I'm gonna fight this war after you're gone, then I gotta change. [Change into what?] Into you. I got to be more like you. (21:25)
10. DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME
Dean—
Can I get a whiskey? Double, neat. [I'm serious, Dean.] No, you're drunk. [I mean, where you're going, what you're gonna become. I can't stop it. I'm starting to think maybe even Ruby can't stop it. But really, the thing is, no one can save you.] What I've been telling you. [No, that's not what I mean. I mean, no one can save you because you don't want to be saved. I mean, how can you care so little about yourself? What's wrong with you?] (03:16)
You gotta snap out of this now. You gotta snap out of this now! You're not gonna die. I'm not gonna let you die. I'm not gonna let you die, you're like a father to me. You gotta believe me, please! [Bobby: I'm breathing?] Yes! Now take control of it! (22:30)
Great! Well, I'm just gonna go blow my brains out now! (25:59)
Well, aren't you a handsome son of a gun. [Nightmare Dean: We need to talk.] I get it, I get it. I'm my own worst nightmare. That it, huh? Kinda like the Superman III junkyard scene—a little mano y mano with myself? [Joke all you want, smartass, but you can't lie to me. I know the truth. I know how dead you are inside, how worthless you feel. I know how you look into a mirror, and hate what you see.] Sorry, pal. It's not gonna work. You're not real. [Sure I am. I'm you.] I don't think so. 'Cause see, this is my siesta. Not yours. All I gotta do is snap my fingers, and you go bye-bye. [I'm not going anywhere. Neither are you. Like I said, we need to talk.] (30:37)
[Nightmare Dean: I mean, you're going to Hell, and you won't lift a finger to stop it. Talk about low self-esteem! Then again, I guess it's not much of a life worth saving, now, is it?] Come on, Dean, come on, wake up. [I mean, after all, you've got nothing outside of Sam. You are nothing. You're as mindless and obedient as an attack dog.] That's not true. [No? What are the things that you want? What are the things that you dream? I mean, your car—that's Dad's. Your favorite leather jacket—Dad's. Your music—Dad's. Do you even have an original thought? No. No, all there is, is "Watch out for Sammy. Look after your brother, boy!" You can still hear your Dad's voice in your head, can't you? Clear as a bell.] Just shut up. [I mean, think about it. All he ever did was train you, boss you around. But Sam—Sam, he doted on. Sam, he loved.] I mean it, I'm getting angry. [Dad knew who you really were. A good soldier and nothing else. Daddy's blunt little instrument. Your own father didn't care whether you lived or died. Why should you?] Son of a bitch! My father was an obsessed bastard! All that crap he dumped on me about protecting Sam—that was his crap! He's the one who couldn't protect his family! He's the one who let Mom die! Who wasn't there for Sam! I always was! It wasn't fair! I didn't deserve what he put on me, and I don't deserve to go to Hell! (33:21)
[Nightmare Demon Dean: You can't escape me, Dean. You're gonna die. And this? This is what you're gonna become! (35:32)
The thing is...I don't want to die. I don't want to go to Hell. [Sam: Alright. Yeah. We'll find a way to save you.] Okay, good. (38:40)
Sam—
[Dean: There you are. What are you doing?] Having a drink. [It's 2:00 in the afternoon. Drinking whiskey?] I drink whiskey all the time.] No you don't. [What's the big deal? You get sloppy in bars. You hit on chicks all the time. Why can't I?] It's kinda slim pickings around here. What's going on with you?] (02:50)
I tried, Dean. [Dean: To do what?] To save you. [Can I get a whiskey? Double, neat.] I'm serious, Dean. [No, you're drunk.] I mean, where you're going, what you're gonna become. I can't stop it. I'm starting to think maybe even Ruby can't stop it. But really, the thing is, no one can save you. [What I've been telling you.] No, that's not what I mean. I mean, no one can save you because you don't want to be saved. I mean, how can you care so little about yourself? What's wrong with you? (03:16)
[Dean: The thing is...I don't want to die. I don't want to go to Hell.] Alright. Yeah. We'll find a way to save you. (38:40)
Misc—
Jeremy: You know what that's like? Not to be able to dream? You never rest, not really. It's like being awake for 15 years. [Sam: And let me guess. That's makes you go crazy.] I just want to be left alone. I just want to dream. (32:32)
11. MYSTERY SPOT
Dean—
[Sam: Twice now, I've watched you die. And I can't. I won't do it again, okay? And you're just gonna have to believe me. Please.] Alright. I still think you're nuts, but...okay. Whatever this is, we'll figure it out. (11:44)
Wait, did he.... [Sam: Yesterday, yeah.] And? [And what?] Did it look cool like in the movies? [You peed yourself.] Of course I peed myself. A man gets hit by a car, you think he has full control of his bladder? Come on! (13:05)
Sam—
Twice now, I've watched you die. And I can't. I won't do it again, okay? And you're just gonna have to believe me. Please. (11:44)
[Gabriel: How long will it take you to realize you can't save your brother, no matter what?] (26:17)
[Bobby: Call me, Sam. We can find it together. No one man should take something like this on alone. You hear me?] (30:17)
[Bobby: I thought you'd back down from killing a man.] Well, you thought wrong. Leave the stuff, I'll do it myself. [I told you, I'm not gonna let you kill anyone—] It's none of your damn business what I do! (32:11)
[Gabriel: Let me tell ya. Whoever said Dean was the dysfunctional one has never seen you with a sharp object in your hands.] (34:50)
[Gabriel: Sam, there's a lesson here that I've been trying to drill into that freakish, Cro-Magnon skull of yours.] Lesson? What lesson? [This obsession to save Dean? The way you two keep sacrificing yourselves for each other? Nothing good comes out of it. Just blood and pain. Dean's your weakness. The bad guys know it, too. He's gonna be the death of you, Sam. Sometimes you just gotta let people go.] He's my brother. [Yup. And like it or not, this is what life's gonna be like without him.] Please, just.... Please. [I swear, it's like talking to a brick wall.] (35:36)
Misc—
Gabriel!Bobby: You and Dean, you...you boys are the closest thing I have to family. (32:18)
12. JUS IN BELLO
Dean—
[Henriksen: Sorry, Dean. Truth is, your daddy brainwashed you with all that devil talk and no doubt touched you in a bad place.] (08:20)
It's kind of wild, right? I mean, it's like they're coming right for us. They've never done that before. It's like we got a contract on us. Think it's because we're so awesome? I think it's 'cause we're so awesome. (16:37)
[Henriksen: Can you guys beat it? Can you win?] Honestly, I think the world's gonna end bloody. But it doesn't mean we shouldn't fight. We do have choices. I choose to go down swingin'. [Plus you got nothing to go home to but your brother.] Yeah. (26:00)
[Ruby: This spell is very specific. It calls for a person of virtue.] I got virtue. [Nice try. You're not a virgin.] Nobody's a virgin! No. No way. You're kidding me, r—? You're— [Nancy: What? It's a choice, okay?] Wh— S—so you've never—not even once? I mean, not even.... Wow! (29:18)
Please tell me you're not actually considering this. We're talking about holding down a girl and cutting out her heart. [Sam: And we're also talking about 30 people out there, Dean—innocent people, who are all gonna die, along with everyone in here.] It doesn't mean that we throw away the rulebook and stop acting like humans. I'm not gonna let that demon kill some nice, sweet, innocent girl who hasn't even been laid. I mean, look, if that's how you win wars, then I don't want to win. [Then what? What do we do, Dean?] I got a plan. I'm not saying it's a good one, I'm not even saying that it'll work, but it sure as hell beats killing a virgin. (31:25)
Sam—
*Dean gets shot.* Alright, don't be such a wuss. (13:54)
[Dean: Who sent 'em?] [Ruby: You didn't tell Dean? Wow, I'm surprised.] [Tell me what?] [There's a big new up-and-comer. Real pied piper.] [Who is he?] [Not he. Her. Her name is Lilith.] [Lilith?] [And she really, really wants Sam's intestines on a stick. Guess she sees him as competition.] [You knew about this? Well, gee, Sam, is there anything else I should know?] (27:32)
So you're just gonna leave? [Ruby: Hey! I was gonna kill myself to help you win. I'm not gonna stand here and watch you lose. And I'm disappointed, because I tried. I really did. But clearly, I bet on the wrong horse.] (32:30)
13. GHOSTFACERS
Dean—
Alright, seriously, does looking at this nightmare through that camera make you feel better or something? I mean.... [Maggie: Um, I, uh.... Well, yeah. Uh, yeah, I think so.] Oh. (19:31)
[Sam: World just isn't ready for the Ghostfacers.] That's too bad. I kind of liked the show. [Had its moments.] (40:29)
Sam—
Yeah! I mean, it's bizarre how y'all are able to, uh, to honor Corbett's memory while grossly exploiting the manner of his death. Well done. [Dean: Yeah, it's a real tight rope you're walking.] (38:56)
Well, um, our experience—you know what you get when you show the world the truth? [Dean: A straitjacket. Or a punch in the face. Sometimes both.] (39:08)
Misc—
Harry: Ed.... You gotta go be gay for that poor dead intern. You gotta send him into the light. (32:54)
Ed: Gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day. (37:15)
14. LONG DISTANCE CALL
Dean—
[Sam: So you two were talking a case?] No, we were actually talking about our feelings and then our favorite boy bands. Yeah, we're talking a case! (04:22)
What if it really is Dad? What happens if he calls back? [Sam: What do you mean?] What do I say? (15:28)
[John: Dean, how could you do it?] Do what? [Sell your soul.] I was looking after Sammy, like you told me to. [I never wanted this, never. You're my boy. I love you. I can't watch you go go Hell, Dean.] I'm sorry. I don't know how to stop it. (18:18)
The man is dead, and you're still butting heads with the guy! [Sam: That's not what this is about.] Then what is it? [The fact is, we got no hard proof here, Dean! After everything, you're still just going on blind faith!] Yeah! Well, maybe! You know, maybe that's all I got, okay? (23:16)
I wanted to believe so badly that there was a way out of this. I mean, I'm staring down the barrel at this thing. You know, Hell. For real, forever, and I'm just.... [Sam: Yeah.] I'm scared, Sam. I'm really scared. [I know.] I guess I was willing to believe anything. You know, last act of a desperate man. [There's nothing wrong with having hope, you know?] Hope doesn't get you jack squat. I can't expect Dad to show up with some miracle at the last minute. I can't expect anybody to, you know. And the only person that can get me out of this thing is me. [Sam: And me.] "And me?" [What?] Deep revelation, having a real moment here, that's what you come back with? "And me?" [Do you want a poem?] Moment's gone. (38:07)
Sam—
[Dean: Wow, you know, you'd think a Stanford education and a high school hookup rate of 0.0 would produce better results than that.] Hilarious. (16:03)
There's nothing wrong with having hope, you know. [Dean: Hope doesn't get you jack squat. I can't expect Dad to show up with some miracle at the last minute. I can't expect anybody to, you know? And the only person that can get me out of this thing is me.] And me. ["And me?"] What? [Deep revelation, having a real moment here, and that's what you come back with? "And me?"] Do you want a poem? [Moment's gone.] (38:46)
15. TIME IS ON MY SIDE
Dean—
[Rufus: You know, I don't even bother drinking unless it's this stuff. Nectar of the gods, I'm telling you.] Yeah, it's a nice change, you know. Most of my whiskey comes from a plastic jug. (18:08)
[Rufus: I know ain't no peashooter gonna save you.] What makes you so sure? ['Cause that's the job, kid. Even if you manage to scrape out of this one, there's just gonna be something else down the road. Folks like us, there ain't no happy ending. We all got it coming.] (19:05)
[Rufus: You do her ear?] Hey, man, I'll try anything once, but I don't know, that sounds uncomfortable. (21:24)
[Bela: You're not the cold-blooded type.] You mean like you? That's true. See, I couldn't imagine killing my own parents. (28:20)
Look, this is simple. [Sam: Simple?] To me, it is, okay? Black or white—human, not human. (36:39)
Sam—
[Dean: Are you coming or not?] I'm staying here. [No, you're not. Because I'm not gonna let you wander out in the woods alone to track some organ-stealing freak.] You're not gonna let me? [No, I'm not gonna let you.] How are you gonna stop me? (15:12)
16. NO REST FOR THE WICKED
Dean—
[Bobby: Ain’t you just bringing down the room?] Well, it’s a gift. [Sam: I’m sorry, so then, what are we supposed to do, Dean?] Look, just ‘cause I gotta die doesn’t mean you have to, okay? We—either we go in smart, or we don’t go in at all. (05:01)
[Sam: Then give me another option, Dean. I mean, tell me what else!] [Bobby: Sam’s right—] No! Damn it! Just no. We are not gonna make the same mistakes all over again. You guys want to save me, find something else. (05:42)
Oh, I knew you’d show up. ‘Cause I knew Sam wouldn’t listen! But you’re not gonna teach him anything. You understand me? Over my dead body. (10:29)
[Ruby: So you’re just too stupid to live, is that it? Then fine! You deserve hell! And I wish I could be there, Dean. I wish I could smell the flesh sizzle off your bones. I wish I could be there to hear you scream!] And I wish you’d shut your piehole, but we don’t always get what we want. (12:25)
Sam, we are not gonna make the same mistake all over again. [Sam: You said that, but what does that even mean?] Don’t you see a pattern here? Dad’s deal, my deal, now this? I mean, every time one of us is—is up the creek, the other is begging to sell their soul. That’s all this is, man. Ruby’s just jerking your chain down the road. You know what it’s paved with, and you know where it’s going. (13:43)
Sammy, all I’m saying is that you’re my weak spot. You are. And I’m yours. [Sam: You don’t mean that. We’re—we’re family.] I know. And those evil sons of bitches know it, too. I mean, what we’ll do for each other, you know, how far we’ll go, they’re using that against us. [So, what, we just stop looking out for each other?] No, we stop being martyrs, man. We stop spreading it for these demons. We take this knife, and we go after Lilith our way, the way Dad taught us to. And if we go down, uh…then we go down swinging. What do you think? [I think you totally should’ve been jamming “Eye of the Tiger” right there.] Oh, bite me. I totally rehearsed that speech, too. (14:39)
[Sam: You know, if this doesn’t, uh…. If this doesn’t go the way we want, I want you to know that—] No, no no no no no no. [No what?] You’re not gonna bust out the misty goodbye speech, okay? I mean, if this is my last day on Earth, I do not want it to be socially awkward. (19:54)
[Sam: I’m not gonna let you go to Hell, Dean!] Yes, you are! Yes, you are. I’m sorry. I mean, this is all my fault. I know that. But what you’re doing, it’s not gonna save me. It’s only gonna kill you. [Then what am I supposed to do?] Keep fighting. Take care of my wheels. Sam, remember what Dad taught you, okay? And remember what I taught you. (32:36)
Sam—
We’re gonna get this done. I don’t care what it takes, Dean. You’re not gonna go to Hell. I’m not gonna let you. I swear. Everything’s gonna be okay. (03:21)
[Ruby: Sam, you’ve got some God-given talent. Well, not God-given, but you get the gist.] All that psychic crap? That’s gone ever since Yellow Eyes died. [Not gone. Dormant. And not just visions, either. Why do you think Lilith’s so scared of you?] Right. She’s scared of me. (09:06)
[Ruby: You don’t like being different. You hate the way Dean looks at you sometimes, like you’re some sort of sideshow freak.] (09:50)
What are you afraid’s gonna happen? This is me. I can handle it. And if it’ll save you— [Dean: Why even risk it?] Because you’re my brother. And because you did the same thing for me. [I know. And look how that turned out. All I’m saying…. Sammy, all I’m saying is that you’re my weak spot. You are. And I’m yours.] You don’t mean that. We’re—we’re family. [I know. And those evil sons of bitches know it, too. I mean, what we’ll do for each other, you know, how far we’ll go, they’re using that against us.] So, what, we just stop looking out for each other? [No, we stop being martyrs, man. We stop spreading it for these demons. We take this knife, and we go after Lilith our way, the way Dad taught us to. And if we go down, uh…then we go down swinging. What do you think?] I think you totally should’ve been jamming “Eye of the Tiger” right there. (14:11)
There’s got to be something. There’s got to be some way. What—whatever it is, I’ll do it! Don’t—Dean! I’m not gonna let you go to Hell, Dean! (32:32)
Misc—
[Dean: This is about me and Sam, okay? This isn’t your fight.] Bobby: The hell it isn’t! Family don’t end with blood, boy. (18:50)

Penultimate Chapter
OT8
Present Day
The sunlight streaks through my window, blurring my vision with its shine. I’m fairly exhausted, and sore, and dare I say, happy? I’m pulled away from my restorative slumber as my phone rings, Earth, Wind & Fire blaring. I’ve had the same ringtone since I was 19, and I’m never going to change it.
“Fuck,” I whisper, taking it from the charger and rolling my eyes at the caller ID. “Hello?”
“Hey, did you get kidnapped?” C asks.
“Um, sort of? Why?” I slip out of the bedroom, tossing my robe over my barely clothed body and sit on the couch.
“It came across my desk and I was wondering if there was something you needed to tell me,” C informs me.
“Oh?”
“Is there?” She pushes.
“No, everything is fine,”
“Okay, are you sure?”
“Are you tapping my phone?” I ask.
“No,”
“Do you know someone who is?”
“Depends, do you?” Her words are delicate, leading without being forthcoming.
“Perhaps,” My voice pitches up at the last syllable, a hold over, a question that I refuse to ask.
“Hmm,” That’s her tell.
“You knew, this whole time?” I accuse.
“Well, sort of. I was clued in a bit ago,” She tells me.
“Did everyone know about this before me?”
“What have they told you?” She’s trying to toe the line.
“A little, I go back in today,” She probably knows this already.
“Keep Jungkook close, he’ll be helpful,” C advices.
“How did you –
“Your onboarding will you go smoothly if you don’t fight RM and Suga,”
“Seriously?” I snap.
“Seriously, trust me,” Her older sibling reeks, doling out advice I didn’t ask for.
“Fine,” I huff, how is it that everyone knows about this organization besides me?
“Love you,” She says.
“Mean it,” I respond before I hang up.
I look towards my bedroom, where Jungkook lays, and am beyond upset. How is it possible that everyone knew about OT7, that I was being followed, except me? My own sister? Jungkook is one thing, he works for them, but her? Why didn’t she say anything sooner? That’s truly what’s making me so upset and frustrated, that I was working 14-16 hour days, beating myself up for not finding Cupid answers sooner, and my fucking sister was sitting on all the information I needed. What’s worse? She didn’t let on that she knew. She didn’t drop a hint, a breadcrumb, a wink or knowing glance. All she wanted to ask about was Jungkook, in a year, all she ever asked… Fuck sisters.
“Cricks, do you want coffee?” Jungkook stands in the door frame to the bedroom, chest bare, ink spread across his arm and up his right peck. His hand tattoos, and the one on his upper shoulder, are my absolutely favorite. They’re sentimental, meaningful, powerful. Black with minimal color, they’re staggering against his honeyed skin. While his model status is never lost on me, it’s his thoughtfulness that gets me every time.
“Yes please,” I reply.
“You thinking about last night?” He moves with ease towards the small kitchen, pulling my favorite mugs from the cabinet.
“Which part?” I ask.
“Any part,” He shrugs, his muscles moving up and down seamlessly.
“Yeah, a little,” I tell him.
“What’s on your mind?” He turns, arms crossing, I swear he tries to look tough, but he just looks like a pissed off Thumper.
“My sister knows,”
“Knows?”
“About you, about OT7,” I clarify.
“How?”
“No fucking clue, she said not to piss off Namjoon and Yoongi, though.”
Jungkook snorts before nodding his head, “Watch out for Jimin and well, you saw Seokjin. He bottles it up and then explodes. Jimin’s just a hot head. Namjoon, is ruthless, but no one is as ruthless as Yoongi-hyung.”
“That leaves you and Tae? And Hoseok, I don’t know much about Hoseok,”
“You’ll really like him, you’ll like all of them. They aren’t as rough around the edges as they seem,” He pours the coffee into our mugs, reaching into the kitchen to grab the oat milk to pour into mine.
“Did you put caramel in it?” I question, sniffing the liquid.
“Mm, three pumps right?”
“Yeah, what, a 1/5 of what it took you last night?” I wink. Jungkook hates when I’m blatantly sexual, murmuring a simple ‘stop’ as his cheeks become a deep crimson.
“That’s really what you think of me?” He questions, moving to stand in front of me. I spread my legs to let him stand between, and he leans down, hands on my thighs. “After last night?”
“You know that’s not what I think, Bunny,” I reply. “You know how highly I think of you and your sexual prowess.”
“Then don’t fucking tease me about it,” Jungkook leans down to place a kiss on my cheek.
“Can I ask one work question?”
“Yes,” He grabs his cup and sits on the stool next to me.
“What happened between Taehyung and Cupid? She says it was a difference in opinion, a misunderstanding that led to an abortion? That’s not Taehyung though, and OT7 wouldn’t make her abort anything, would they?” I sip my coffee. Fuck me if he doesn’t make it better than I do.
“She wasn’t pregnant,” Jungkook answers.
“She wasn’t? Why did she lie?”
“She’s full of lies, Cricket,”
“Okay, then what actually happened?”
“She took advantage of him,” Jungkook’s eyes stare into his coffee, the blackness reflected in his irises.
I nearly choke on my coffee. “Of Tae?”
“Mm, of Tae, more than once,”
“Did you-
“We didn’t know, I didn’t know until I was onboarded fully. Tae went to Joon-hyung, and then it was handled.”
“Oh my god,” I whisper. “Oh my god.”
“Mm,” Jungkook’s signature sound is muttered, a delicate whisper against my raging anxiety.
“She raped him?” I question.
“Yes,” He refuses to look at me, but the clench of his jaw is unmistakable.
“But... wow,” Is all I can say.
“Wow?”
“I just, if I had known, I wouldn’t have worked with her,”
“You didn’t know,” Jungkook’s hand engulfs mine in that familiar embrace.
“Is Tae alright?”
“Yes, he went to a lot of therapy and was pulled from field work,”
“The mission was terminated, fuck that’s a loaded word, but he didn’t have to –
“No, the second Namjoon knew, he ended it. That’s one of our rules, no one engages in behavior they are not comfortable with,” He informs me, another piece of information I’m sure Namjoon will be telling me during onboarding. God, days spent listening to Namjoon go over rules? I’d rather suffer through another one of Cupid’s family dinners than sit through him. Is he like, fun? Now’s not the time to ask… but fuck me if I’m not curious.
“She, Cupid, she said he made her abort the baby, which didn’t match up with the Taehyung I was seeing or with any evidence but then again she never gave me any records to check it with and I wasn’t allowed to look into her health record at all,” I ramble.
“That tracks. There’s a lot you’ll find out about Cupid, and her family… there’s a lot you don’t know, Cricket. But, for right now, you need to know that there was no baby, she was never pregnant, just wanted to trick Taehyung into sticking around. It began with Yoongi, and just escalated.”
We sip our coffee in silence. The tension is dissipating, but I’m still nervous and scared. I consorted with a known rapist, worked months with her, took her money. What will Taehyung think of me now? Do I apologize? I should apologize, when I see him. Though, that’s not the responsibility of the victim to accept an apology. I didn’t know. Like I told Yoongi, I’m not Nixon, this isn’t Watergate. No one will ask what I know and when I knew it, no one will back date and check my sources to confirm. But I will always know that I engaged with her after she committed various offenses against someone I know I will care deeply for, someone who cares deeply for the one I love.
I know it’s not in my place to feel guilty, or maybe it is. Isn’t part of being an ally sitting in your own privilege, your own ability to feel grateful that it wasn’t you, and recognizing you have leaps and bounds in order to support those who have gone through whatever it is? I’m an ally to Jungkook, though I’m not Korean or first generation, and he’s an ally to me, though he isn’t biracial or a descendant of slaves. We both work towards the same cause though. Doesn’t sexual assault, rape, harassment, fall under the same umbrella?
“Cricket?” Jungkook’s hand has moved to rub circles on my back.
“Bunny?” I glance at him, bottom lip between my teeth again, though I’ve already gnawed off every dead skin cell.
“Hm?”
I always smile when he makes that sweet sound, or its derivative, mm.
“Do you still want to move in, or was last night an over correction for the fight?” I question.
“You’re really doubting me today, aren’t you?” His brows slope against his eyes, his ministrations against my back freeze. Those furrowed little lines on the flesh where the slope of his nose meets his forehead mark his deep concentration.
“I’m not doubting you. I just want to make sure. You know, we’re in our twenties. We are prone to fall for the cohabitation effect.”
“The what?”
“Couples who move in together as a reaction to fear their relationship will dissolve, often move in to preserve something. Then when they realize they aren’t compatible or don’t want to continue being together, they don’t break up because they live together,” I inform him.
“Is this one of your theories?”
“No, it’s Dr. Meg Jay, The Defining Decade. I have two copies, you should read it,”
“Okay, put it on my bedside table and I will,”
“Oh, so you’re, in?” I smile.
“Oh, I’m in, completely,” Jungkook kisses me soundly, hand creeping under my shirt to caress the bare skin.
“We have to get ready,” I tell him, tilting my head to grant him access to my neck, which has thoroughly missed his touch in the last eight hours.
“Fuck it,” He murmurs, the vibration of his tenor voice echoing through my skin.
“Bunny, they’re going to be so mad, and I know Namjoon already hates me,” My hands gently ghost down his chest, drawing shapes against his abs before resting on the hem of his boxer briefs. He’s so tempting, all skin and muscle, sweeping bleached locks and soulful eyes. I was right for driving into them.
“He doesn’t hate you,”
“Yoongi at least-
“They don’t hate you, we’re just a unit and you bring new energy to the entire group, that’s all it is.” He confirms.
Pulling the inner flesh of my lip between my teeth, I exhale. “What if they hate me?”
“They won’t,”
“Jungkook,”
“Y/N”
“Will that change your opinion of me?” I ask.
“Oh honey, of course not,” He assures. I don’t know what it is, blind faith and trust I guess, but I always believe him on the first go.
“Okay, do you want to shower before we go?”
“Together?” He asks. His hands are still under my shirt, gently palming my latte skin until it burns with desire. I hate how good he is, how seductive, sensual, misleading his bunny smile and endearing eyes are. I want him always.
“Why else would I’ve skipped the underwear?” I move his hand under the hem of my night shirt. He growls ever so softly at the feeling of my bare ass in is hand. “And to think, you thought I was kidding about your work last night! Sore or night, I think we’ve got enough time for me to prove you wrong.”
~~~~~
“Here’s my question,” I start, directing OT7’s focus to me. It’s been three hours of listening to Namjoon go over protocols and procedures. I haven’t smiled once, well, Jungkook did walk by and wink at me, which I’ll admit, made me blush. This is my second time in the large conference room, and together we’re discussing the case, my knowledge of the Lee’s, and where we stand now. It feels like a scene out of Be More Chill, but instead of data dumping everything I’ve learned, they’re painstakingly pulling it from me. Yoongi’s got my hard drives, all my notes, he’s cracked every password and firewall defense I set up. Of course he is, he’s Min Yoongi.
“Yoongi, how the fuck did you become so off the grid? I couldn’t find you, period.”
“That’s part of my job, Black Panther,” He smirks.
“Your work on Enterprises was under Park Yoongi, and you left no visible trace on the company. You don’t show up in alum magazines or columns, no birth certificate, anything of public record is gone. What the fuck did you do?”
“That’s for me to know,” Yoongi winks at me.
“And Namjoon, what the fuck happened when you turned 16?”
“What do you mean?” He asks, puzzled by the question.
“You are everywhere, every magazine, every scholarly article, on every universities formal lecture docket, and then poof. Like you didn’t exist,” I stare at him, he’s far less of a dick than I previously thought. We have some similarities too, actually, OT7 and I are far more alike than I realized.
“I did exist, I was just busy training,” He shrugs.
“You started training at 16?”
“A little before that, has JK not told you?”
“He’s hardly told me anything,”
“Even after you found out?” Jimin asks.
“Even then, what was it you said?”
“They’re not my stories to tell,” Jungkook shrugs. He’s across the table, in his designated spot next to Taehyung and I desperately wish I could hold his hand. Who. Have. I. Become?
“Mm,” Namjoon nods, “I was brought on from an early age, trained and then helped shape this group into what it is today.”
“Namjoon’s the reason we exist,” Hoseok says.
“He helped select all of us, leads us, makes the decisions,” Jungkook says.
“So your stunted upbringings trace back to him?” I ask.
“They trace back to the people above him, Black Panther,” Yoongi corrects.
“Right, the mythical beings above Namjoon. Do they exist? Have you seen them?”
“They exist, and they’re a little terrifying,” Seokjin adds.
“So Namjoon isn’t the end all be all? He’s not even the oldest!”
“True, he does have to listen to Seokjin,” Jimin laughs. “Sometimes, when hyung is mad, he just launches at Joonie, it’s so funny.”
“You have to listen to him too,” Yoongi’s glare cuts through him.
“So do you, Yoongi-hyung,” Jimin doesn’t back down.
“Anyway, Namjoon-hyung had to go through everything first, that’s why he disappeared from the worlds stage.” Seokjin finishes the tale, bringing us back together.
“Yoongi joined shortly after,” Namjoon continues, “The rest fell into place, well, except Golden Maknae,”
“Jungkook?” I turn to face my boyfriend, his nose is scrunched, and his hand is behind his head, scratching his neck.
“He nearly left, luckily, Joonie always knows what to say,” Taehyung says. “I was what, technically last?”
“Technically, yes,”
“Which is why we were in training together,” Jungkook reminds him.
“So you’re one big happy family?” I ask.
“We fight, but it’s been a decade, we know each other too well,” Yoongi speaks. “which is why when Jungkookie fell in love, we were caught off guard.”
“Mm,” I nod, mimicking his gesture. “Though you left him off my romantic partners,”
“Well, that was his request,” Namjoon says.
“We’ve all experienced heartbreak and fallen out of love. We all hoped that JK wouldn’t be stunted because of our work,” Seokjin explains.
“Can we not?” Jungkook asks his hyungs. They all turn to him, sensing his discomfort, and laugh.
“Fine, fine. Back to work,” Namjoon advises.
“What exactly is the next phase of the plan?” I wonder. “I mean, Cupid doesn’t want to work with me anymore, so what’s next?”
“Good you asked, Black Panther,” Namjoon changes the slide and passes me another file. “The next phase requires little work from you, aside from ensuring we have all your evidence. The case moves up the line to the Feds and the other countries who are indicting them.”
“Who all is getting indicted?” I ask.
“Hopefully the entire board, the entire Codename Valentine family, minus Cupid,”
“What will be left for her?”
“Depends on what they take,” Yoongi sips his coffee. He’s much easier to read in person, his features, however angelic, are deeply expressive.
“What about their investors?”
Seokjin doesn’t hesitate to respond, “Their money will be frozen for a while, then returned to them.”
“Do you find it deeply romantic that you’re citing their financial downfall when that’s how you met Cupid?” I ask him.
“I prefer a slight twist of fate,” Seokjin nods, the bob of his head accompanying the pout. “When will this go down?”
“The Feds and a few other groups move in on Lee Enterprises early next week,” Jungkook answers. I remain confused as to what he exactly does within this group, it seems like a little of everything but what is everything?
“So, that’s it? I did my part?”
“Yes, you did, exceptionally well,” Namjoon answers.
“You kept her snooping for over a year, all of which we used to nab the rest of her family,” Yoongi starts, “Sure, you were an unexpected parasite for a minute, but you’ve done good work.”
“First of all, rude, secondly, what will you do now?” I glance at each of their expressions, they’ve mastered the slightly inquisitive yet passively uninterested poker face. It’s impressive, their collective shift in attitude, the quiet “hmm” Yoongi hums, the eyes widening on Jimin, the unmistakable panic within Hoseok, all gone within seconds, like a musician losing an award in real time.
“What do you mean?” Hoseok asks.
“When this is over, what will you do? You’ve worked on this for nearly a decade? Who will OT7 be after this?”
“Wow, ask the horrifying existential questions,” Jimin attempts a chuckle, but it comes out as a strained cough.
“We’ll move onto our next mission,” Namjoon responds confidently.
“Which is?”
“You will not know unless we need your services,” He snips.
“Okay but why onboard me? Doesn’t that already make me like an honorary member? No longer OT7 but OT8?”
“No,” The unison chorus of voices that radiates off the glass is chilling. Accompanying the harsh put down, a chorus of laughs.
“Cult vibes,” I mutter.
“We’ll be fine, Black Panther. The question remains, what will you do?” Namjoon asks.
I don’t have an answer, I don’t have a response, all I have is the panicked look on my face. They know I haven’t got a fucking clue what my next career move is. Will I become a member of their team, or a part of the larger organization? Will I go back to aiding depraved housewives in their mission to defame their cheating husbands? I have enough money to hold me over for a month or two, but I guess the question isn’t whether or not I will go back to cheating husbands and slutty mistresses, but do I want to?
I don’t know.
Marichat/Adrienette: Serendipity: Fifty Marichat and Adrienette Kisses: Kiss Thirty-Eight
Read it on AO3: Serendipity: Fifty Marichat and Adrienette Kisses: ...because they’re running out of time.
It was bad.
It had been an honest mistake, a simple oversight, but Marinette was now regretting it immensely as an akumatized Adrien fangirl tore the roof off the Gabriel warehouse where Marinette was doing her summer internship like the lid of a soup can.
Two days previously, Chat Noir had rescued Marinette when she got caught in the crossfire of the latest Gabriel Agreste-caused akuma attack. Unthinkingly, Marinette had rung his bell, called him her hero in a flirty, saccharine tone, and kissed him on the cheek.
One of the other interns (Marinette’s rival Benoit) had gotten it all on tape as he took cover behind a clothes rack and posted the video online, the sniveling coward.
Of course, Adrien’s rabid fans were now calling for Marinette’s head on a platter despite Adrien’s insistences that Marinette was not cheating on him.
Clearly this fangirl was a little slow on the uptake if she’d only found out about and gotten akumatized over the quote-unquote “scandal” just then.
“You!” the akuma (Marinette hadn’t gotten her name yet) shrieked like a banshee as she pointed threateningly at Marinette, flapping her harpy-like wings as she slowly descended. “I’ll show you, you little hussy! The penalty for breaking Adrien’s heart is death!”
Marinette groaned, standing her ground and letting herself be a sitting duck to keep the akuma’s attention while the rest of her coworkers fled to safety.
“News flash!” Chat Noir growled as he leapt through the hole in the roof the fury had created, bashing the akuma over the head with his baton like a baseball bat on his way down.
He landed in a crouch in front of Marinette, putting himself between her and the monster. “Adrien’s heart isn’t broken, and he’s pissed that you’re harassing his girlfriend,” Chat snapped as he rose to his full height, teeth bared.
Marinette mentally noted that her boyfriend was really hot when he was worked up over protecting her.
The fury recovered from Chat’s little love-tap faster than expected, hissing like a feral cat as she dropped to the ground, denting the warehouse floor with her clawed, bird-like feet.
“You and your lover will die!” the akuma screeched, pulling a cartoonish gun-apparatus off her shoulder holster and firing it at them.
Acting on instinct, Chat dove at Marinette, pushing her to the ground.
Unfortunately, it was a net gun, and the resulting net got a two-for-one special, trapping both Marinette and Chat Noir in one shot.
The harpy akuma cackled, slowly advancing on her prey. “I will sacrifice you both to Adrien, and then he will realize his love for me!”
“Hate to break it to you,” Chat grumbled as he and Marinette struggled to free themselves and only wound up making it worse. “but Adrien’s ninety percent vegetarian, and he frowns on human sacrifice.”
Checking to make sure Marinette was clear of his right hand, Chat shouted, “Cataclysm!”, and the rope trapping them dissolved away.
“Run!” Marinette yelped, half pulling him to his feet as they took off.
The akuma screamed in anger, folding her wings and giving chase much faster than a bird of prey that large should have been able to on land.
“We need somewhere you can hide while I lead her away,” Chat panted as they raced down evacuated hallways.
“Storage closet,” Marinette agreed, spinning on her heel and going back three doors to where they kept bolts of the three dozen hues of chiffon regularly used at Gabriel.
Just as Marinette managed to yank open the storage room door, the fury rounded the corner and shrieked, “There you are!”
She dove at them, snatching them up in her talons and tossing them into the closet together.
They landed with a thud, bolts of fabric raining down around them.
“Stay put,” the akuma commanded, shutting them in and piling debris up outside the door to make sure that they couldn’t escape. “I have to go get Adrien so he can watch your demise.”
And, with that, the girl flew off to find her idol, certain that her prey would still be right where she’d left them when she returned.
“Marinette? Are you okay? Did she hurt you?” Chat called desperately as he dug himself out of the fabric pile.
“I’m good,” Marinette groaned, shoving the blots of chiffon off of herself. “I’m probably going to be nursing some bruises later, but nothing’s broken or bleeding.”
Chat sighed in relief as he made his way over to her, helping to clear away the last of the fabric before assisting her to her feet. “Thank goodness,” he whispered, pulling her in for a gentle hug. “I kind of flipped when I saw that harpy monster on the news announcing her manifesto to put you to death.”
“My phone is in my purse in my locker, so I didn’t hear the akuma alert,” Marinette sighed, thinking, not for the first time, that she needed to come up with a way to stay on top of akuma notices even while at work because this was becoming a problem.
“I’m just glad you’re safe,” he sighed, nuzzling her hair. “I was really scared.”
He shuddered even as he held her. His first thought had been of Marinette’s lifeless body being presented to him by the akuma, and that was quickly followed up by the terrifying thought that if Marinette was gone, there would be no Ladybug to restore her to him.
“You’re still freaking out, aren’t you?” Marinette realized, wrapping her arms around him tighter and nuzzling him back.
He nodded. “I couldn’t live without you. It would break me.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” she promised. “We’re going to get out of here, and then you and Ladybug are going to purify the akuma. Everything is going to be fine.”
He took a deep inhale of her scent, letting it calm him.
“Right,” he breathed. “You’re right. Everything’s going to be fine.”
She held him a little longer until his breathing evened out, and then she pulled back, giving him an encouraging smile. “Are you ready to get us out of here, My Love?”
He returned her smile weakly and nodded. “On it.”
“I’m honestly worried about Adrien,” Marinette sighed as Chat Noir squared off against the door. “He’s probably going out of his mind worrying about the both of us. You and Ladybug need to stop Harpy Lady before she abducts poor Adrien.”
“Won’t be a problem,” Chat assured, raising his right hand and calling out, “Cataclysm!”
Nothing happened.
Marinette and Chat frowned in tandem.
“Not enough juice for a second Cataclysm today?” Marinette hummed.
Frankly, she was impressed with how his abilities had grown over the years. It was a little unpredictable, and it changed from one fight to the next, but sometimes he could get off two or three Cataclysms before having to detransform, and the five-minute timer no longer seemed to apply to him.
Ladybug’s powers, on the other hand, hadn’t seemed to improve or grow at all. She still got one Lucky Charm and then detransformed five minutes later.
She’d asked Tikki about it, but that hadn’t gotten them anywhere. Tikki thought maybe Marinette’s stress was limiting her growth.
Marinette couldn’t bring herself to be amused by the irony.
Chat Noir’s ring began to beep in warning, causing the hero to groan. “Plagg, it hasn’t even been ten minutes. What the heck?”
“Has he not been feeling well?” Marinette inquired, a deep frown of concern etching itself into her brow.
Chat shook his head. “He’s been his same old annoying, cheese-eating self. I don’t know. Maybe I’m the problem. I am kind of off my game because an akuma is trying to kill the woman I love.”
Marinette grinned, stepping in to give him a sweet kiss on the cheek. “Aww. That’s kind of romantic.”
“It’s kind of annoying,” he laughed self-deprecatingly. “Unfortunately, this is my reality.”
She stepped back with an affectionate smile and turned to face away from him, closing her eyes and covering them with her hands. “Go ahead and detransform. I won’t look while Plagg recharges.”
He pressed his lips together, considering as his ring gave another beep.
“I promise I’ll keep my eyes shut,” she insisted, misinterpreting the cause of his hesitation.
He dropped his transformation and tossed Plagg a piece of Camembert.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped in, wrapping his arms around his girlfriend from behind.
She jumped, startled at the contact at first, but then settled back against him, enjoying the feeling of his bare skin on hers. She usually only got so much skin-on-skin contact during intimate moments, and the sensation now lit little flickers in her stomach.
“I love you,” he whispered into her shoulder, pressing kisses like a flower chain up her neck.
“Love you too,” she giggled, hoping Plagg would take his time with the cheese.
“Marinette?” he called tentatively.
“Hm?”
“I love you, and I can’t keep doing this anymore,” he confessed, making her suddenly go rigid as all of the happy, warm feelings vanished.
She swallowed hard. “W-What do you mean?”
“Keeping secrets from you. Lying to you,” he explained, nuzzling her neck and pulling her closer, his hand on her stomach.
“What exactly are you lying about?” she found the words to ask even as they stuck in her throat.
“Who I am,” he sighed. “I can’t do it anymore. I need you to open your eyes and look at me. I need you to know who I am because we’ve been dating a year and a half, and I’ve let this farce go on far too long.”
“Chat Noir, no,” she stressed, pressing the heels of her hands harder to her face. “I can’t know. We’ve been over this many, many times. It’s not safe while Papillon is still at large.”
“Marinette, all the things you’re afraid of aren’t going to happen,” he sighed in frustration. “I know you’re scared, and I’m not saying your fears are unfounded, but…Papillon doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon, and I cannot keep up this act for another month, let alone another year or more. I’ve always respected your wishes because I didn’t want to force this huge burden on you without your consent…but we’ve passed the point of ridiculousness, and I need you to know now. I can’t hide this any longer. I won’t.”
“Minou, don’t be unreasonable,” Marinette coaxed. “I…It’s not safe.”
He turned her around to face him and rested his hands on her shoulders. “Open your eyes and look at me, or I’m breaking up with you.”
Her body gave a jerk, and her mouth fell open in a silent gasp of shock at his harsh words and no-nonsense tone.
“Please,” he returned to pleading, taking her hands and gently pulling them from her still-closed eyes. “Please,” he whispered against her lips, giving them a desperate kiss.
“Please,” he repeated in a tearful, strained voice, getting down on his knees, pressing his face to her stomach and giving it a nuzzle. “Please, look at me.”
He sat back on his heels, looking up at her plaintively, giving her hands an entreating squeeze. “Please, Marinette?”
Her lips were quivering as tears slowly trickled down her cheeks. Her hands too were shaking even as he held them.
Gradually, her eyelids did part, and her gaze came to rest squarely on Adrien Agreste, a supplicant mess at her feet.
She pulled back, falling over backwards as her hands went to cover her mouth.
“A-Adrien?!”
“I’m so sorry,” he rushed to get out. “You didn’t want me to tell you, and then things got so messed up that I didn’t know how to tell you. I’m sorry, Marinette. I’m so, so sorry.”
But she didn’t hear him. She was too busy panicking and shaking her head and trying to come up with reasons why what she was seeing couldn’t be true.
“—No,” she finally responded, cutting him off as he babbled apologies and tried to explain himself. “No,” she laughed just on the right side of maniacal. “I’ve seen you two together. I’ve made out with the both of you. I’ve seen the both of you making out with each other!” she accused, desperate to keep her understanding of reality in one piece.
He shook his head and replied in a very small, brittle voice, “Fox Miraculous.”
She blinked at him, not comprehending.
He gulped and tried again. “I used the Fox Miraculous to create a doppelgänger.”
She stared at him, hurt and betrayal flooding her senses. “You…used the Fox Miraculous…on me?”
Adrien visibly shrank, his shoulders rising up to his ears as he responded with the smallest, most timid of nods. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know what to do. I…” He trailed off as she shook her head, her eyes cutting into him with the depth of their hurt and anger.
“How could you?” she asked quietly, calmly, leaving him wishing that she would just yell and get it over with.
He had nothing to say for himself.
He didn’t think she’d react well to “How could I not?” or “What else was I supposed to do?”
So he didn’t say anything. He just sat there, looking at her penitently, waiting for her to get to the part where she forgave him and told him it was okay. He waited for her to say she still loved him.
He wondered if he should say it first.
That didn’t feel right, though. He knew he still loved her, but he wasn’t so sure that she still loved him. He wasn’t good at fights. When his parents fought, they sometimes didn’t speak for days or weeks afterwards. Adrien had never gotten to see how those fights were resolved, how couples made up.
When Adrien got in trouble with his father, the usual protocol was for Adrien to stand still and take whatever verbal abuse his father threw at him until Adrien was dismissed.
He wondered if that’s what he was supposed to do now. Though Marinette seemed to be done talking. She seemed to be waiting for Adrien to say something.
Adrien had no idea what that something was. He didn’t usually get a turn to speak when his father took him to task.
He’d seen Alya and Nino argue about little things from time to time. They usually apologized, kissed, and made up…but Marinette didn’t look like she wanted a kiss.
“Well?” she asked, voice emotionless…like his father’s.
Marinette wasn’t supposed to make him feel like his father did.
Adrien looked for Plagg, hoping his kwami might offer some assistance, but Plagg was nowhere to be seen.
Adrien was on his own, feeling very tiny, stupid, and not good enough.
“I’m…sorry,” he tried miserably. “I love you.”
She stared back at him and sighed, shaking her head as she got to her feet.
Was she breaking up with him? Did her shaking her head mean that she didn’t love him?
The only thing he truly understood was the disappointment on her face. He was very, very familiar with disappointment.
“We’re wasting time,” she decreed, scrubbing at her face with her hands. “I’m sorry. We’ll have to talk about this later. I’ll come over to your apartment. Right now, there’s an akuma to fight, and you need to get us out of here.”
“R-Right,” he readily agreed, pushing himself up on shaky legs.
He tried to focus on the task at hand and not let himself think about losing Marinette’s love forever.
“Plagg?” he called, uncertainly.
The little deity flew out from behind a stack of chiffon and came up to nuzzle Adrien’s cheek.
The affectionate gesture almost made Adrien cry, it meant so much to him.
“Thanks,” he whispered in heartfelt appreciation before calling on his transformation.
Once the storage closet door and the pile of rubble blocking it was Cataclysmed away, Marinette was on the move, tossing an, “I’m going to find somewhere safe to hide. I’ll drop by your apartment after the attack,” over her shoulder as she went.
He tried to tell himself that her cold, distant behaviour was the result of shock. She was dealing with a lot of emotions, and maybe springing a reveal on her during an akuma attack where the akuma was trying to kill her hadn’t been the best timing.
He tried to tell himself that it wasn’t him. It was just Marinette panicking because that’s what Marinette did.
Somehow, those thoughts didn’t make him feel any less miserable.
The akuma was purified, and, while that was all that truly mattered at the end of the day, the battle had been a clown fiesta that surely left Paris wondering what was wrong with its heroes.
They were a mess. Chat Noir and Ladybug were horribly out of sync, tripping each other up, misreading signals, and getting thrown all over one another by the harpy lady.
Everyone was just happy that they’d somehow pulled it off regardless.
No fist bumps were exchanged at the end of the battle.
This was a little disheartening because Adrien took it to mean that Marinette was so upset with him that she’d forgotten or didn’t care that Ladybug shouldn’t be behaving coldly toward Chat Noir because he wasn’t supposed to know that Marinette and Ladybug were the same person.
Adrien collapsed on his bed, arms spread wide as he let out a long, bone-weary sigh. “Today is the worst.”
Plagg came over and settled on Adrien’s chest, giving his ward a nuzzle and a comforting purr. “At least nobody died,” he offered.
Adrien groaned, throwing an arm over his face as tears began to leak from the corners of his eyes. “I’m such an idiot.”
Trixx poked his head out of Adrien’s right shoulder and flew up to stroke Adrien’s hair. “You’re not an idiot,” he cooed, trying to be helpful.
Usually he left these kinds of interactions to Plagg who knew Adrien better and was, therefore, better suited to providing comfort. Today’s confrontation with Marinette in the storage closet had been particularly intense, though. Trixx could feel the way Adrien’s body had shaken and tensed and braced to be struck. Trixx could smell the stress hormones Adrien gave off, and he could tell that his holder needed more comfort than usual.
“I’m sorry Plagg and I didn’t give you the best guidance,” he whispered his regret. “We didn’t help you handle the situation well.”
Plagg snorted, stopping mid-nuzzle to look up and glare at Trixx. “We didn’t do anything wrong. This is all on Tikki. It’s her fault for filling her girl’s head so full of horror stories of identity reveals that went wrong in the past. It’s Tikki’s fault we got to this point. She knew Adrien and Chat Noir were the same person. She should have said something, told her girl it was okay to lighten up.”
Trixx couldn’t help but think that it was rather ungenerous of him to throw his other half under the bus like that. He would have thought that Plagg would show more loyalty to Tikki. On the other hand, Plagg’s kitten was suffering and had been suffering for quite some time, as the Adrichat charade had been going on for about a year at that point.
Plagg turned back to Adrien, insisting, “Kid, you know this isn’t your fault, right? You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I didn’t really do anything right either,” Adrien mumbled despondently.
Trixx kept petting Adrien’s hair in the absence of anything more helpful to do.
“Don’t beat yourself up,” Plagg coaxed.
Adrien only sighed in response. “…Are we broken up now, do you think? I’m not good at fights. That felt like a pretty big fight.”
“That’s not what I took away from the encounter,” Trixx offered, mentally crossing his fingers that his understanding of human interactions aligned with the reality of the situation.
“Kid, no,” Plagg assured, going back to nuzzling. “She’s just upset. She’s not dumping you. She said she’d be by to talk it over later, so—”
“—So she can dump me officially?” Adrien groaned.
“I believe this is what that therapist person we saw the other day referred to as the cognitive distortion of ‘catastrophizing’,” Trixx remarked, trying to be helpful.
“What the fox said,” Plagg seconded. “You’re doing that catastrophe thing. Stop that and go into your talk with your girlfriend with an open mind. Maybe she’ll scream at Tikki first and get all of her anger worked out before she comes here, so she’ll be able to think clearly and see that this is all her own fault.”
Adrien took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Yeah,” he replied half-heartedly. “Maybe.”
He felt bad for hoping that Marinette yelled at Tikki because, deep down, he knew he was in the wrong too, but he had a feeling that Tikki could withstand Marinette’s anger better than Adrien could.
“Just try to stay calm,” Trixx coached. “We’ll deal with whatever happens when it happens, so there’s no point in worrying about it now.”
“Okay,” Adrien mumbled, trying to focus on his breathing and the comforting caresses of his kwamis.
Adrien woke to muffled voices coming from the main room about two hours later. Trixx was still curled up beside him, his head resting on Adrien’s shoulder, but Plagg was nowhere to be seen.
Adrien wiped the crusty debris from the corners of his eyes and sat up, trying to make out to whom the voices belonged. He rolled off the bed and onto his feet, going to investigate.
He found Plagg and Marinette in the main room of the apartment, hissing at each other in hushed tones.
Her complexion was splotchy, and her eyes were red. She looked a mess, but his heart still leapt for her.
Sensing their audience, Plagg and Marinette looked to where Adrien stood in the bedroom doorway, and Marinette’s eyes lit up.
“Adrien,” she breathed, rushing to his side, wrapping her arms around him, and squeezing him tight.
Reflexively, he untensed, settling into her embrace and dropping his head to rest on hers, his face buried in her hair.
“I’m sorry,” she stressed into his chest. “I’m so sorry. I’m not breaking up with you. Ever.”
“O-Oh,” he choked, beginning to tremble as an overwhelming wave of emotions washed over him. “Good,” he managed.
“Come here,” she coaxed, tugging him to the couch so that they could sit before their legs gave out.
She pulled back to look him in the eyes, gingerly cupping his face in her hands. “I’m sorry for how I reacted before. I was really upset, and there was a lot going on. There was a lot to think about and digest, and…” She shook her head. “I’m hurt and I’m angry and I’m still upset, but I will always love you, even when I want to scream at you and slap you silly, okay? I can be mad and still love you at the same time, all right? Plagg wasn’t sure if you knew that, so I wanted to make certain we were clear on that point.”
Adrien had to swallow and take several deep breaths before he was able to reply. “…I wasn’t sure,” he admitted. “I’m not good at fights. I don’t know how this works.”
She nodded, stroking his face and petting his hair. “That’s okay. I know you haven’t always had the best examples in your life, so… When my parents fight, things can get ugly. Sometimes they say things they don’t really mean. I think everyone does that. The important thing is that once they cool down, they sit down and talk about what happened and what they were thinking and feeling, and they work together to fix the problem that started the fight. They say sorry, and they remind one another how important they are to each other, and then they try to learn from the experience and not make the same mistakes again. Ideally, that’s how it’s supposed to work,” she explained.
“So…” He frowned as he tried to wrap his head around this new information. “You said sorry and that you still love me. I said sorry earlier. Does that count, or do I need to say it again now?”
Marinette grimaced and had to remind herself that he was struggling to grasp this new concept, so she needed to be patient.
“It’s not quite so formulaic as that,” she informed gently. “Those were more guidelines than a script, but…Plagg told me how torn up you’ve been about keeping secrets from me and how hard it’s been for you not being able to tell me who you were, so…I know you’re sorry. That’s the important part. I believe you’re sorry, so you don’t have to say it again.”
He nodded, tentatively, still not quite sure of his footing. “So…you forgive me? Are we done fighting?”
She bit her lip, dropping her hands from his face to his palms as she looked away. “Yes and no. I’m still…feeling things. This is a lot to process, and I’m still mad and hurt and upset, so…I need some time,” she confessed, looking back up at him imploringly.
He averted his eyes, shoulders inching up towards his ears as he began to curl in on himself defensively.
“Okay,” he mumbled, even though her answer wasn’t the one he’d wanted to hear.
“It’s going to take a while for me to sort through things in my head,” she explained. “I still love you, and I still want to be with you, but…you lied to me.”
He flinched but didn’t bother saying anything to defend himself.
“Like…a huge lie. For a long time,” she stressed. “That isn’t something I’m just going to get over. It doesn’t feel good to be tricked and betrayed like that, Adrien, so it’s going to be a while before I’m able to forgive you. That doesn’t mean I don’t love you anymore, though,” she reiterated, wanting to make sure that he believed her. “Do you understand?”
He nodded, trying to make himself smaller so that he would, hopefully, shrink away and disappear.
This hurt worse than when his father scolded him. When he got in trouble with his father, it was usually for something Adrien had no control over. It hurt worse when he had actually done something wrong and knew his punishment was justified.
“But we’re going to get through this, okay?” She gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. “This is just a rough patch. We’re going to come out on the other side stronger.”
“Okay,” he whispered, trying to believe her.
It was hard because he had always been a screwup, and he didn’t anticipate that changing anytime soon. He would always disappoint her and make her question the trust she placed in him. He’d been doing it for five years now, and it made him wonder which time would be the final straw. He always felt like he was on the precipice of losing her forever.
When he tuned back in, at least a minute or two had passed, and Marinette was in the middle of saying, “…you ever thought this was a good idea. I just…I don’t understand. How could you trick me like that?”
She stopped talking and looked at him expectantly.
He looked up and blinked at her.
She frowned. “Adrien, are you listening to me?”
“I…” He gulped. “Sorry. I don’t usually get to say anything, so…”
Slowly, her left eyebrow drifted up toward her hairline. “When have I ever not let you talk?” she inquired in honest confusion.
“Not you. My father,” he informed. “When I’m in trouble and he’s yelling at me. I don’t usually get to say anything, so…” he trailed off again with a shrug.
Marinette stared at her boyfriend as a cold chill walked its fingers up her spine. “You feel like you’re in trouble and I’m yelling at you…like your father does.”
His shoulders rose back up to his ears, and his gaze cast around on the floor for something to look at instead of her. “That’s…yeah. I mean…it’s a little different because you said you loved me, and that…that doesn’t happen with my father, but…yeah. …You’d think I would get used to being told what a disappointment I was,” he chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
Marinette didn’t laugh. “…You’re not,” she stressed, taking one of his hands in both of hers and squeezing tight. “Just because I’m disappointed in something you did, that doesn’t make you a disappointment.”
Tentatively, he peeked up at her. “Is that anything like the saying, ‘You are not your failures’?”
She nodded enthusiastically. “Exactly. Just because you did something that disappointed me, that doesn’t make it a part of who you are. It was just…just a mistake. Human beings make those.”
“Even you?” he ventured softly.
“Especially me,” she agreed. “I’m sorry, Adrien. I wasn’t trying to make you feel bad; I just wanted to understand what had happened, but… What your father does to you is horrible, and I don’t want things to ever feel like that with me. Say something next time.”
Taking a deep breath and finally meeting her gaze, Adrien asked, “When we fight, afterwards, do I get to talk about what I’m thinking and feeling too?”
It hurt her that he even needed to ask.
She nodded, assuring, “I care very much about what you’re feeling and thinking.”
He blew out a long exhale. “Okay. So…I don’t get to make choices often. I mean, I do this past month now that I’ve moved out, but…my whole life, I’ve just kind of had to do what people tell me. This past month is the first time I’ve been able to pick what I wear or what I eat or what I do with my free time, so…thinking for myself and making decisions on my own is a bit of a foreign concept.”
She had known that on some subconscious level, but now that he spelled it out for her, it was horrifying in a whole new way how tightly controlled he had been.
“I know you said you still loved me, even though you were mad,” he continued uncertainly, “but…will you still love me if I’m mad at you?”
She blinked at him in surprise but nodded, assuring, “Of course…but…why would you be mad at me?”
He took a deep breath, gathering his courage. “Usually, when my father is scolding and punishing me, it’s for something that wasn’t my fault. Normally, I keep my head down and take it without protest because I have no control over the situation, no say in what happens to me…but…this relationship isn’t like that, is it?”
Slowly, she shook her head. “No. It’s not.”
He held her gaze as he continued shakily. “You’re not my father. You’re not unfair like that, and you care about what I have to say.”
She nodded vehemently.
“And it’s okay to fight with you because you’re not going to stop loving me,” he added and waited for her to confirm it, needing to be sure.
“Yes,” she promised, internally bracing herself, even as she squeezed his hand tighter.
“Okay,” he breathed out shakily. “In that case…Marinette, I’m kind of tired of always accepting the blame for things that aren’t my fault.”
Her eyebrows drew into a frown of confusion as she tried to parse his words for meaning.
“I’m not trying to say that I didn’t do anything wrong because I know I did,” he rushed to explain. “I never thought it was a good idea to pretend to be two different people. I never wanted to do that, and it wasn’t like it was all fun and games for me. I hated lying to you…but even though what I did was wrong, it wasn’t entirely my fault.”
She pursed her lips, trying to figure out what he meant, if he was trying to blame Plagg for giving him bad advice or what.
“Marinette,” he called imploringly, eyes wet with the start of another round of tears. “You didn’t give me a choice.”
Her mouth dropped open in stunned disbelief.
“What was I supposed to do?” he pleaded. “It all got really messy really fast right from the very beginning. I didn’t mean to fall in love with you as Chat Noir. I didn’t mean for us to get so close, but we did, and that wasn’t something I could give up. You have no clue how horrible it was in that deserted mansion all by myself, always feeling like an impulse buy my father deeply regretted but couldn’t return. I felt safe with you. Your house was always a happy, warm place, and you made me feel like I was worth something. I couldn’t keep away,” he explained, praying that she would understand even a little bit where he was coming from.
He shook his head. “I couldn’t stop coming as Chat Noir…and then I fell in love with you, but that day when I accidentally tried to kiss you as Adrien, you said there was someone else, and, I mean, that someone else turned out to be Chat Noir, so…I was just so overjoyed to have my feelings finally returned that I didn’t stop to think that it was stupid to date you as a masked superhero. I didn’t think,” he sighed, mentally kicking himself for the thousandth time. “And then I accidentally kissed you as Adrien, and you accidentally kissed me back, and…”
He pinned her with an intent gaze. “Remember how I tried to tell you who I was that night? After the kiss in the library with Adrien, I came over that night as Chat Noir, and I was going to tell you everything, but you wouldn’t let me. You said no, and I respected your choice because you were right; it is a really freaking big deal, and knowing my identity could potentially put you and the people you love in danger, and that wasn’t something I could force on you. I respected your choice. Was that wrong?”
He stopped, offering her space in which to speak.
She took a measured breath and blew it out slowly, confessing, “I don’t know. I wasn’t operating with all the facts. I don’t… I think…maybe you should have said something.”
“I tried,” he whined. “I dropped so many hints, Marinette. As things got further and further out of hand, I kept trying to tell you. You always said no, but I kept trying. I let so many things slip, hoping maybe you’d figure it out so you could stop beating yourself up about cheating on me, but… Marinette, I even asked you as Adrien, ‘What if I’m Chat Noir’. I tried.”
“…You…did, didn’t you?” she replied hollowly, image after image of him trying to tell her flashing before her eyes.
He nodded miserably. “The whole dating myself thing was purely idiotic, but I panicked, and I just wanted you to stop being so distraught over quote-unquote cheating on me when that was mostly my fault in the first place for not being able to keep my hands off of you as Adrien. I was stupid, and I messed up, but I was just trying to make you happy. I asked you again and again to let me tell you my identity, and you were aggressively against it…so I just let it go. When you wanted Chat Noir and Adrien in the same room, I figured out a way to make it happen, and that was that.”
He shrugged helplessly. “I was going to say that Chat and Adrien couldn’t find a time in their schedules that worked, but…you were so excited for the three of us to all get together,” he groaned. “I couldn’t let you down, and then when I asked Ladybug for the Fox Miraculous—”
Marinette paled, feeling incredibly stupid as she played the scene over in her mind.
“—I asked her if I could just tell you my identity, and she said no too, so…and then it just kept going for so long it felt like I couldn’t say anything anymore, but today… This has been eating me alive, Marinette,” he sighed, sounding every bit as exhausted as he looked. “I couldn’t do it anymore. I’m sorry. I knew I was in the wrong the whole time, but I didn’t know what else to do. Like I said, I’ve grown up my whole life with very little opportunity to think for myself and make decisions, so those are things I really struggle with. I’m sorry, and I’m working on it.”
“Oh, Adrien,” Marinette cooed, pulling him into her arms. “I’m sorry. I can see why you didn’t feel like you had a choice. I’m so, so sorry.”
She tipped her head up, pressing her lips gently to his.
He leaned into the kiss, his heart fluttering at the contact.
When they pulled back, he gave her a goofy smile. “I was so scared you’d never kiss me again.”
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” she sniffled, stroking his cheek lovingly.
“I’m sorry I lied and tricked you,” he answered, touching his forehead to hers.
“I’m actually really touched that you put that much time and effort into trying to make me happy,” she giggled through the tears leaking from the corners of her eyes.
He gently brushed them away with his thumb. “I’m glad that that’s worth something.”
“It’s worth a lot,” she assured. “You’re worth a lot.”
A light blush spread across his face, and he smiled, leaning in to press a kiss to the tip of her nose. “I really, really love you.”
“I really, really love you,” she responded with a giggle.
They pulled back just to look at one another, smiles pulling their mouths wide.
“…Hey,” Marinette remarked after nearly two minutes of gazing softly into one other’s eyes.
“Hm?” he hummed in answer.
“Have you eaten?”
Adrien frowned, trying to recall. “I…Maybe? I don’t remember.”
“He hasn’t!” Plagg and Trixx called out in unison from the arm of the couch where they were watching the scene develop.
Adrien blushed, looking away sheepishly. “Thanks, guys.”
“You’re welcome,” Plagg snickered.
Ignoring the kwami of destruction, Marinette forged ahead with her plan, “We should make dinner. How about I prep some salad for us while you brew two mugs of mint tea? Then we can snuggle on the couch while watching that one anime you mentioned the other day. Maybe even make popcorn. What do you say? I think we could use some low-energy bonding time after the day we’ve had.”
Tears spilled over down Adrien’s cheeks as he nodded enthusiastically. “You know just how to make me feel better.”
