Do you ever have characters where you're like...I totally love this character...but the fandom loves them too and they have a group of vehement supporters so you don't feel the need to discuss them at all? And you root for these marginalized characters that somehow get loads of hate and you become more fond of them because somehow so few others are?

Orym is giving very "I have fallen in love again and that feels like a betrayal to my dead husband" energy.
He's also giving "I care so much about my friends and I have to protect them but the love I have for one is so strong that it's distracting me AND it's not fair to the others"
Like there is so much love contained in the Orym and also so much guilt.

If Dorian ever writes a love ballad about Orym, it will be over for me

There's something weirdly...disingenuous in all the posts questioning why Orym might want to talk to Dorian specifically and not the others. Like, this post is really good and covers the non-romantic reasons why this makes sense, and I agree with it entirely! Also though, it's not like Liam hasn't pretty consistently made it clear that Orym has feelings for Dorian. You do not need to like this (I think it's abundantly clear that I think you can openly dislike a ship) but you do look kinda dumb if you're like "why would he want to specifically speak to someone he's known longer than anyone but Fearne, who's slightly removed from the current tragedy, and whom he has repeatedly messaged whenever he's feeling upset?"

Something something the idea of a character all about death and the dead and the fragments of previously living beings spirits. A character who finds passion and care and respect for the end of life and the small bits that remain after life has finished. Someone who finds humanity in someone needing to find their rest and going out of their way to help them get there regardless of gaining nothing. Meanwhile, the antagonist of the game essencially has many of his actions driven by the guilt and regret of in some ways creating death and dying. Because what could be more terrible than nothingness. And how could it ever be forgiven that he created the end of an existence that was supposed to be endless?

I‘m currently rereading the ToG series by listening to it as an audiobook and right now I’m on CoM and I have a confession to make : I don’t trust anyone who did not kinda ship chaol and celaena (at least in the beginning). Their relationship and development together in the first two books is just everything. And he was the first person to feel like home to her!! And Chaol who built his life around friendship, loyalty and a very specific set of morals and beliefs is questioning all of that because of Celaena!! Like you don’t even have to ship them to admit that their relationship is so well written and tragic. They just make me feel some kinda way.
Also I now understand why in the original story Dorian and Celaena did end up together. Since even now there is some kind of foreshadowing for that, a connection between them and them ending up together would just have been the perfect full circle moment. Like ToG and CoM are so underrated as books, when they are so important and you get to see how everything gets put into motion. The character development for our main trio in these two books alone is mind blowing. Also the importance of Nehemia!!! I just can’t.

Rewatching Absolution and hope cast crops up in future games 🥲 I would love Qwydion to be a companion eventually 🥺 also the plot is interesting and ends on a cliffhanger so I hope it has some sort of follow-up in Veilguard 👀

so, I thought I was not gonna get Wyll shamelessly flirt with Lae'zel since Dorian got his romantic conversation at the Tiefling party (no kiss because Dorian wants Wyll to kiss him and choose him of his own free will)
but instead I just got all three banters at the crèche
and like I, as the player, think it's probably a bug, but this whole conversations must be so confusing to Dorian because like he honestly thought this was going somewhere? but maybe it's not? maybe Wyll just tells people their smile means everything and in another life he would have danced with them all night platonically? maybe that whole conversation was actually Wyll rejecting him and he didn't catch on?
(maybe telling Wyll about the Nightstalk memory was. Not good? maybe it's not that surprising Wyll isn't really into someone haunted by thoughts of murder who has to take notes on Being A Good Person? like he did tell lae'zel her eyes are pretty and asked if he believed in love at first sight and if she ever did a good deed for the sake of it so)
I have spoiled myself as little as possible for the romances in BG3 so I know nothing about where Wyll is at (except that he has a dance scene in Act 2 because Caradoc had to turn him down last time). Lae'zel is special but he does flirt with almost everyone without it meaning anything, so maybe this is all what is it to it but right now I also like to think that he's also working through his feelings and this is one way to do it.
Like yeah, he got a huge crush on Lae'zel that isn't really going anywhere, now he is crushing on Dorian and that might go somewhere and he really needs to think this through because Dorian is a very handsome dramatic bard who shares his special interest but.
...also why everyone who catches his eyes is like that.

Has anyone ever asked you what your favorite books are? I am always so curious what you read because I love what you write :)
okay a) tysm!!!!! and b) i dont know if ive been asked before but i can give a list of my favourites for you!!
my number 1 flips between the picture of dorian gray and stephen king's the stand. dorian gray shaped who i am as a human being and i 100% would not be who i am today had i not read that book as a teen, but the stand is objectively The Book of my life and i don't think anything will ever usurp it. it is the most perfect deep dive into humanity and the ways in which goodness can and will prevail over everything so long as we don't lose sight of what is important: OTHER HUMANS!!!! it is So incredibly moving and not really (imo) horror in the overtly gore-horror way.
other favourites (just based on my bookshelf to my side):
middlemarch, for obvious reasons. a little life (i am a little life defender tho i know it's a very controversial one!). john halifax, gentleman by dinah mulock craik (one of the best classics i have EVER read - imo a queer-coded book about lifelong friendship!!!!!). we are the ants (heavy and fucked me up for a while). private peaceful (incredible childrens/early teens book about ww1). the song of achilles (duh).
also other stephen king favourites (because he's a league of his own lol):
11/22/63 (a book we all should read), IT, the green mile, the long walk!!!!
