Swordtember 2024, Pt. 2

Continuing my strange, pop-culture, RPG-style take on Swordtember, I've got a collection of 8 new swords from across a variety of media. This set includes Bloodborne, Magic: the Gathering, Monster Hunter, and more.

What you see here isn't all though. Two other famous blades-- Frostmourne from the Warcraft series, and the Poison Blade from Asssassin's Creed-- are also available, but only over on my Patreon! No worries on price though, it's totally free, as long as you're willing to follow my work on there.

Would Eureka work with a Late Modern (vibes are like 1850s-1930s) Fantasy setting? I've been cooking an idea that has my players in my usual fantasy setting and thought it'd be kind of cool to use Eureka to portray the usual D&D hero as borderline monsters because of the power they have

Yes! Eureka is designed most specifically for 21st century America, but we went out of our way to make sure it can handle late 19th and 20th century settings as well. As long as you can agree with your players what “1850s to 1930s” actually entails, it shouldn’t require much more work than running Eureka in its normal 21st century setting. We have played 1930s Call of Cthuhlu modules with it plenty of times! Some of the Item List will need to be restricted (no cellphones or personal computers obviously) and if this is taking place before everyone owned a car, then you replace the Driving Skill with the Riding Skill for every character. There’s a few more adjustments you may need to make on the fly depending on what comes up, but off the top of my head that’s most of it. Even though it takes a tiny amount of homebrewing (or rather just saying “okay we aren’t going to use cellphones because there’s no cellphones,” which I don’t even really consider homebrewing), it certainly takes less work to run 1850s to 1930s in Eureka than in any version of D&D.

And also yeah in a setting like Eureka, even though monsters are technically real and out there, monster hunters are.. not good. They’re hateful crackpot conspiracy theorists who stalk and invade the privacy of anyone who falls slightly outside of societal norms of looks or behaviors, 99% of which are not actually supernatural nor causing anyone any real harm, and, well sometimes go as far as to hunt and kill them.

Clangen Mod Ideas

Heya! I've been coding on and off for a good few years and I know different bits and pieces of various code languages, including the one Clangen is coded in, and my mind has been running wild recently with mod ideas to practice my coding skills!! However, I need to pick just one to focus on so I don't burn myself out, and I can work on the others later when I have the time and energy to work on multiple mods at a time.

Question is, what mod should I focus on? They all are equally beloved ideas and since I'm starting them all as simple text expansions & text replacement mods, they'd all be the same level of coding difficulty until I finish each one's 1st official release. I plan to make an official release for each before moving on to a 2nd official release with new features and/or replaced features for any of them, so don't worry, I'll get to them all eventually! This is just gonna help me decide which to try out first.
