I work in Canadian immigration - Americans should not try and claim refugee status unless they can prove there is no where else in the US you would be safe. Please realize that there are many places in the world where dictatorships and anti women and anti queer laws are on the books and widely enforced, that's unfortunately the bar.

Please please realize how difficult and expensive it is to immigrate or seek asylum in Canada. Spend less money and relocate to states that have protections in place, if all those places vanish, THEN consider your options.

If you still want to try immigration PLEASE SPEAK WITH A LAWYER and get guidance from them! Immigration is tricky and hard and fucking it up can seriously fuck up your future and bank account.

After Deborah Eakins read the recent CBC News investigation about Loblaw, Sobeys and Walmart grocery stores overcharging customers by selling underweighted meat, she weighed her ground beef. To her surprise, the meat, bought at Sobeys-owned Pete's Frootique in the Halifax area, appeared to have been weighed with the hard plastic packaging. CBC News purchased three packages of ground beef from the same store and got the same results. The calculated overcharge was $1.23 — six per cent on the $21.29 bill. Under federal regulations, posted net weights for packaged food — and prices based on that weight — can't include the packaging.

It’s both Dick being an awful, awful son to his poor, poor father who has never deserved to be punched in the face, not once in his life, and probably stepping a little over the line with his desire to still be Damian’s parental figure himself and just a loving big brother teaming up with his younger brother to take on the biggest threat in the room, their father. It’s messy, it’s complicated, it’s not strictly one thing or another, it’s mostly good natured, but with a slight undercurrent of something to it, that is where I live with these characters.

I ordered sushi yesterday because I didn’t have the forethought to make a lunch.

My coworker and I placed it and then I forgot about it. DoorDash is on my Naughty Apps list for constantly sending notifications begging for attention, so I have them turned off.

So it was very belatedly that I checked the status and saw there was a message.

A lot of messages in fact.

I looked down and literally just saw “Tell no one,” as a white man in his fifties strolled in with a backward cap. When I told him I was just seeing the messages he said, “Yeah, check it out, that text chain is lit.”

No one has ever received a five star rating more quickly than that man.

Ok but Zuko using the knowledge he acquired during his banishment to help him as the Fire Lord. Like making small talk with Earth Kingdom dignitaries about their local foods that he enjoyed and even misses. Like having in-depth conversations with his captains about sea currents and navigation. Like, in the middle of a meeting with several high-ranking naval officials, pointing out flails in security, like how a person can cling to a Fire Nation ship for hours at a time, or climb aboard using hatches on the upper decks, or disguise themselves as a lower ranking guard with easily accessible spare armour….

Though none of his experiences can prepare Zuko for the long, awkward silence that comes after he admits to doing or at least knowing something illegal and/or completely buck wild

Calling all Brits on this hellsite.

We all saw Elon Musk do the nazi salute at the Trump inauguration. We know that he is influencing and fanning the flames of right wing political parties.

And that very well may include ours.

Because Elon Musk has pledged to donate $100 million to the Reform party. He has since mentioned that it might be hard to give such a large sum now.

But I don’t think we should take our chances. And I think we can agree that letting billionaires influence our countries politics is a terrible idea.

If you also agree here’s a link to a Parliament petition.

It calls for the government to remove loopholes that allow wealthy foreign individuals to make donations into UK political parties (e.g. by funnelling through UK registered companies).

As it is a parliament petition the government are required to debate it in parliament. But for that to happen it needs to reach 100,000 signatures.

Non British folk I’m afraid you guys can’t sign but I encourage you guys to reblog so that more people can see this.
