I wrote a thing about the bat while I was waiting for my chicken nuggets, vampire is referred to as a he and boyfriend once or twice but the actual gender of the vampire is never stated and it could be a girl or something else.

You don't know, really how could you know, it was a bat and you're a normal person who knows vampires are fiction.

It breaks your heart to say, because you love posting about them, love reading about them seeing them in movies, but that's it, there's no handsome Dracula to proclaim to three women that he too can love as he stares at you and claims you belong to him.

it's late, far too late for you to be up, nearly 3am, but you're sleeping hours are fucked to hell and you want a soda or maybe an energy drink, maybe a slurpee, point is you want a sugary drink and you don't have any at home, so you left your apartment, you weren't expecting to find a bat, why would you? It's the top floor, it would be one thing if it where the lobby or the side entrance stairwell, but the very top floor?

You could call the apartment people or animal control... but it's 3am, no one is going to come here at this hour, but you can't just leave it, there are elderly people on this floor you don't want the bat scaring them or swooping down. So against your better judgement you go back and find a thick pair of gloves and spend the next 10 minutes trying to catch the damn thing.

It doesn't bite you, so you've side stepped becoming a vampire yourself... or most realistically; rabies, the whole elevator ride down is tense, you're so scare the bat is going to some how get out or bite you, when you release it outside it flies away. You wave goodbye and go to the 7 eleven down the road, you don't think much of the experience beyond that.

You don't think about it again until a few weeks later, it's late again, your window is open because it's too warm despite being autumn, you don't see the movement, and it isn't until there is a lull in your music that you hear it.

Back and forth grazing against the screen of your window is a bat, it's hard to see and you can't help but laugh, you wonder if it's the same bat that got stuck, you wonder if bats can recognize people, it's hard to see and you don't want the bat getting in again so you close the window.

But then you turn off the lights and creep up to the window, you stare out at the bat that still passes back and forth sometimes going to fly around a tree before returning, in the dark you can see it much clearer... it's a bat, you have no idea if it's the same one because... again it's just a bat.

Still you find yourself enchanted by the little guy, and you stare out the window at it for a good while, at least five minutes, maybe a bit longer before it finally leaves. It's both fun and amusing, you joke to your friend that you got a vampire boyfriend now.

If it comes back again you don't notice, most of the time your curtain is closed.

Sometimes you get packages delivered to your door, you don't know how, the buzzer never goes off to let someone in, it's harmless things, boxes of candy or chocolate, the first time you think it's a mistake, but it has your apartment number on it, it's weird... but you take it anyway, the box looks like it's from a store, still wrapped in plastic and all the treats inside are individually wrapped so you eat them anyway.

Someone might've gotten the address wrong, or still thinks the last tenant lives here, either way free is free and you've eaten worse than suspicious chocolate before.

It happens just infrequently enough that you don't get weirded out by it, confused each time yes, but it's not something that seems creepy or like you're being targeted out.

Sometimes it's gift baskets filled with different goodies, normally it's boxes of chocolate, packs of candy, it's never anything big enough that you feel bad for taking it on the very likely chance it wasn't for you in the first place. Though the cards sometimes make you feel bad for taking something that clearly belongs to someone else, they're just supermarket cards with no writing, stock cards that look like they're fit for Valentines day, you get one at some point wishing you a happy anniversary.

You wonder what is going on in this person's relationship that they've been together for a year but keep sending shit to the wrong place, and why do they never sign it, there's a vague thought at one point maybe you have a stalker, but you doubt it, you rarely leave the house and don't talk to many people.

You're standing there in your room rereading the standard one year anniversary message pondering what kind of one sided relationship this must be with your newest basket when you see it, something flying outside your window. Your eyes light up and you turn off the lights and go to the window.

A bat flying back and forth, you press your hands against the window as you stare at it, you doubt it's the same bat, it can't be the same bat, but for a moment you pretend, "well if it isn't my boyfriend," you say to yourself in amusement.

The Drac Pack is out of whack! REVAMPED

I had a feeling that my first set of redesigns for these guys' human forms in HT4 from way back in January 2022 were long overdue for a redo, especially since I've come a long way with my digital art skills since then.

Also, even though it's August, it's NEVER too late or early for some Halloween themed art IMO.

A human finding a Stingmon that is trying to care for several tiny Wormons that are its kids

A human finding a Stingmon caring for its Wormmon children

It was meant to be just a fun little solo hike. Up a short distance and then back down. Safe enough to not need anyone with them. But, of course they stumbled across a rather defensive and aggressive Digimon. Of course they did. And a Stingmon at that.

It threw threats at the human, warning it to stay away, before outright deciding the human knowing where it was… was a danger in of itself. The human tries to reason with the Stingmon, only to spy behind it… quite the little swarm of Wormmons, all hiding but clearly curious and peeking out to see what the fuss was about. They question Stingmon about the Wormmon, and judging by the sudden change in posture, ready to strike, this was its reasoning for the territorial behavior.

The human assures it has no intention to harm Stingmon or the Wormmon but asks why it would be someplace so many people may wander to?

The Stingmon hesitates and responds. It’s a fighter, not a parent, and having so many Wormmon to care for suddenly was hard! It stayed where it was because scaring food off of passersby was the best way it could ensure all its children were fed AND protected. It’s clearly worried about leaving it’s children alone.

The human offers it help. Someplace safer to nest with its Wormmon, so it doesn’t have to attack travelers for food and can leave without worry if it’s children being attacked.

Not that it cures the Stingmon’s worries, of course. It asks for assistance; babysit the Wormmon to ensure the area is indeed safe.

The human accepts. Better than it’s previous situation, for sure, but man… this would be quite the trip to make for babysitting jobs.

@lovelylivelyv Made Gorgericka's fangs a little bit bigger than Drac, and I figured Eeicka might have some fun with that now she finally has fangs. Drac of course deftly handles her teasing by making a joke right back. Slightly more of a suggestive joke than I normally do but it's still pretty safe for work. And considering these 2 are the pairing of "I'd kill for your skin" and "Would you like to see my parts" it's pretty in character for them to flirt via double entendre like this. Besides, I like puns.

Lrb I indeed agree w it but currently i am on a humanized villain mood.... in a "how dare you exhibit traits of my species yet still be such a disgusting being it makes you worse" way :). Characters that in theory have their forms of love n compassion and could be better ppl but in practice their cognitive n moral dissonance is so bad and their logic so broken that they make everything worse. Humanity is not squeaky clean.

My ultimate feeling on reincarnation romance plots in Dracula adaptations is, if you're going to do one at least make Renfield the reincarnated lover. What matches the "I've crossed oceans of time to find you"-freak better than "I've had an inexplicable psychic link with you across continents while impatiently preparing for your arrival"?? Also Renfield eventually succumbing to pangs of conscience and sabotaging the Count to help the heroes would hit extra dramatically if he were sacrificing a centuries-old love to do it.

Mina's incredible (and underrated) detective prowess would be very useful I bet. Put her on the helm Integra, Van Helsing praised her brains as being above everyone's including himself for a reason.

I honestly can't guess what the chemistry between Integra and Mina would be. Integra doesn't really click with me as a classically heroic character, for all that she does focus on saving humanity from the undead via Alucard and her forces, being the Boss Lady etc etc. She's miles away from being as insidious as an Amanda Waller, but...

The hotel. The fucking hotel will never leave me.

Yes, the order went directly against 'soldiers of the enemy,' but those soldiers had been lied to about who and what they were charging into. Which was obvious even without being a fly on the wall to know their higher-ups had fed them some BS to march them into death and win their own power grab from Millennium. She didn't tell Alucard to 'make it quick' or even just to 'neutralize.' She told him to search and destroy. Folding to Alucard's egging and negging to seem like a Worthy War Commander in the grand scheme~ of the plot

She's not heartless, exactly, but she is arctic and surprisingly quick to breeze past the loss of lives that aren't under her direct care/command. While she might respect Mina's abilities and investigative skills--I wouldn't be surprised if Mina could intuit Millennium's endgame well before the climax could happen--Integra inherited none of her ancestor's warm regard, supposing Abraham van Hel(l)sing had any of the original's tenderness in him (50/50 considering this takes place in aggro horror territory). We can't even say if this universe's Mina played any big role in cornering Dracula; she might just have been a targeted damsel.

All that said, I think Integra would see Mina as another time-displaced bleeding heart with a few useful skills, same as Jonathan. Someone to be an ally at best, a liability at worst. So I don't see her handing over any reins or offering to be co-girlbosses any time soon :c
