Hotel Transylvania 4 rewrite idea thingy 

(this is 90% from my mom, who has never seen the 4th movie but has seen the first 3, and was only told the premise. I thought what she came up with in the span of 10 minutes was interesting enough to write down)

Movie would be focused more of Dracula and Erika’s relationship and what it means to be human

Drac would still be turned into a human, but Van Helsing would’ve done it with malicious intent of keeping the Van Helsing bloodline free of Monsters (and killing Drac in the process due to his Vampire years catching up to a now human body). Alt reason being because Van Helsing thinks Erika is being through a “phase” and turning Drac into a human would make her stop liking him and come back to Van Helsing.

Either way Van Helsing says it was a mistake and gives the couple a map to what could reverse the process. It would’ve been located in France, and would be a Spearhead.

Side note, there would be a gag of Wayne, Frank, and Murray telling Dracula about how he’s likely around his late 50’s as a human. Dracula thinks that’s a really good age, talking about he’s “spry as a spring chicken”, until the trio start telling him about their human friends who are that age and how most humans die at that age, or have a lot of health issues and so on. Gag ends with Drac proclaiming that he then must be on his deathbed. (Insert Erika expression of ‘:/ in the background here)

Race against the clock plotline to turn Dracula back into a vampire before he dies of old age while he learns to completely leave behind what trama he still has of humans (since he’s a human during the majority of the movie). Erika doesn’t care what species Dracula is, she still loves him.

They may be against the clock, but that doesn’t mean Erika and Dracula wouldn’t have fun doing newlywed things as they traveled to France. Dracula would be coming to terms with his mortality during this.

Mavis and Johnny would be a B-plot of running the hotel without Dracula at the helm. Johnny would NOT be absurdly obnoxious, and Mavis would be stressed out due to juggling the hotel and her kid at the same time.

B-plot would tie back to A-plot with Mavis and Johnny finding out Van Helsing sent Dracula and Erika on a wild goose chase to kill Drac from the ageing thing. Van helsing would be revealed to have had the Spearhead the entire time. Mavis and Johnny would then also travel to France (Johnny would be carrying the spearhead), but much quicker due to Mavis still being a vampire.

Final part of the movie would be A and B Plots meeting up and having an emotional talk about mortality and what it means to be a human or monster (doesn’t matter which one you are), And Dracula confirming with Erika that she actually likes him for who he is, and not what he is before he uses the spearhead. She confirms and kisses him. 

End segment is everything back to normal at the hotel, except for the fact that Van Helsing has been evicted and banned from entering the hotel for the rest of his unnaturally long life.

What's Your Honest Opinion On Hotel Transylvania 4 I Never Watched It For Good Reason I Watched The Trailer And I Was Super Disappointed And Outraged

I liked what they were TRYING to do, the Drac learning to see the bright side, let go and move on, and to appreciate Johnny as a family member was nice. But it basically felt like Brave on Steroids, it was something already done by the table scene in HT 1, and it COULD have answered the question about Drac and Mavis outliving Ericka and Johnny and that monster or human doesn't change who they are and...they missed an opportunity to solve that without biting them. I also feel like they should have made it clearer Drac and Ericka were married now. Mentioning it in the novelization is not enough. I feel like they should have changed Ericka and the pack girls too. Would be a fun moment to explore Mavis' desire to fit in with humans, realize Monstrosity isn't so bad, and understand Johnny's choice a bit more. And we get to see unconventional girl human designs!

I kinda prefer @lovelylivelyv 's Transformania AU for alot of reasons to the one we got. Although like I said...I did like what they were TRYING to do. But yeah, HT 1 and 3 will always be the best to me. You didn't miss much. Ericka, the Drericka scenes, the family protecting Mavis to get her to Johnny at the end, and Drac and Johnny's marshmallow heart-to-heart were really the best things about the film to me.

I kinda feel like it suffered from Genndy leaving, Sandler leaving, and the pandemic happening and turning it into a made-for-TV film. Both visually and creatively. I feel like it'd been better without so many of the Original people leaving the project.

for the longest time i thought hotel transylvania 4 was fake because i saw it once but i don't remember anything but dragon johnny and i'd never seen anyone mention it so i thought i had just dreamed it up

321st edit and this was interesting as the character from Hotel Transylvania 3, Erika has a very pointed chin for a rounded face character. I have one more planned 3D character reimagining to 2D character left. I just wanted to make Erika as a combination of recovery f from being sick and September 1st, AKA the Halloween Eve month before October. I will admit so much already happened this year I feel that I had to have two years occupied this one year. And the year 2024 not even done yet. O.o

Happy bisexuality visibility month too!

I hate to admit it, but the background is from The Legend of the Titanic: An Animated Classic. That being said I am still not going to watch any of the animated Titanic movies likely.

Lastly, in regards to the Hotel Transylvania movies, I personally like in this order:

First place 🥇: Third (feels like could stand on its own and fun story)

Second place 🥈: Second (the whole wedding scenes moved from third to second, I mean my Lord, Mavis’ wedding gown was so beautiful. As well the not so subtle double meaning of interracial relationships)

Third place 🥉: Fourth (the fourth has such fun animation style like the third movie but it lost by a tiny bit to second place)

Fourth place 🗑️: First (I am aware Disney does not own “disappointed of non-human father to daughter loving human” but it felt it took too many beats from The Little Mermaid).

i loved hotel transylvania 4. even though i do think that is is maybe the weakest one, its still good. it wraps up the franchise nicely.

but what i would LOVE to see is some kind of series. a cartoon, focusing on mavis and johnny figuring out how to run the hotel and stuff. it would be so awesome.

If Ericka was trained to kill monsters, she's not supposed to have an amazing muscles??

I like the elegance they give her in the movie, however, wouldn't it make more sense for her to have a more toned body?

The Drac Pack is out of whack! REVAMPED

I had a feeling that my first set of redesigns for these guys' human forms in HT4 from way back in January 2022 were long overdue for a redo, especially since I've come a long way with my digital art skills since then.

Also, even though it's August, it's NEVER too late or early for some Halloween themed art IMO.

I've just been informed of the fact they become humans, and I'm sorry but WHAT ARE THOSE DESIGNS.

(Unless we hit a subgoal teehee/hj, if you want that idk comment and I'll record my reaction at a certain number of subs idk)
