Hiccup has a fear of deathsongs.

Obviously he doesnt hate them, I dont think he has it in him to genuinely hate a dragon seeing as they're just wild animals playing their part in the food chain, but after almost being killed by a dragon that lures in and borderline brainwashes prey via sound it's hard not to see the similarities.

Part of why he had no moral dilemma or second thoughts about trapping the Melody Island deathsong in that cave at first. It's something that makes him feel deeply guilty because he's meant to be the dragon guy right? A bridge connecting humans and dragons, bringing peace between them, it's hypocritical of him to have this knee-jerk reaction, right?

Anyways so much untapped potential in Hiccup's ptsd surrounding the end of the first movie

#httyd headcanon #like garf was okay at first bc yknow he's a Baby but still he had Hiccup STRESSED #then when he got bigger so did the feeling of uneasiness #hes unphased by most aggressive dragons or wild ones that aren't sure how to act around non hostile humans #but flinches at every sudden move made by a deathsong and covered his ears at their cries not just bc its loud and unpleasant but #bc it sounds like the red death even if it was barely audible to humans its more like a vibration you Feel in your bones #moth.txt #hiccup haddock #httyd #deyas dragons #rtte #death song #ask #cloverofhope

I’d like to mention that I’m not just expanding on other regions of the world. On characters and their dynamics with one another in this crazy project of a crossover that I’m doing. I’m also expanding on the dragons themselves. Playing around with the fact that they’re like people, and not all people are good. Some people just really, genuinely suck. But the thing this post is about is to showcase all the dragons who I am adding depth and lore to that we didn’t see in the films. Or the games. Because I am bringing in dragons from the games. So to all the School of Dragons players (RIP, that game was my childhood), here are the dragons from the games that I am bringing into this story (that I can immediately think of, especially since there’s a ten photo limit) (pictures supplied by Rise of Berk)

And then dragons that showed up in the films/shows that I’m adding lore to that wasn’t in the films/shows

It’s going to be so much fun (adding this after doing tags HOLY CRAP I FOUDN THE TAG LIMIT)

#im bringing in game lore from all sorts of corners #characters. dragons. stories. arcs. I LOVED school of dragons it’s getting implemented into this world #i have a whole season of RTTE planned to simply introduce more of the School of Dragons stuff #but #these are the species that I have stuff currently planned for in cement #species i know for a fact that get involved in the main story and actually physically show up #or species that get mentioned and/or play parts into world building or character building #species i did not have room for pictures here are Night Furies and the Red Death #those two species get some pretty serious lore and backstory #but it’s not just the humans I’m working on. the dragons get all sorts of world building and lore of their own. they get attention too #one thing i will not do is rewrite the Light Fury #but i am not bashing the design they went with. i just think that it wasn’t the right one for what they were trying to do #i might make a seperate species based off of her concept art (because it was beautiful)#i think she’s actually kinda adorable which may be a hot take #the deep 2015 #the deep cartoon #httyd #httyd/the deep crossover #oh crap. do i have to tag all these dragons?#here we go #woolly howl #sand wraith #groncicle #prickleboggle #sword stealer #light fury #deathsong #deathgripper #skrill #speed stinger
