A few headcanons-

- Noah was the President of ALPHA PHI KAPPA back at his old college. He has since taken the name and given it to his new frat. He runs the only frat house on the D.A.M.N. campus.

- He was originally turned on a dare at a party his frat was hosting. His maker was the heir to the house he currently belongs to. After his maker’s unexpected death, he became next in line for the crown.

- Being a part of one of the oldest vampires houses, a lot of the members took some time to get used to Noah especially after he became prince. Someone of his era and energy was a lot to comprehend, but they’ve since then grown very attached to him almost like a family pet.

- He is very close friends with Vincent and was a big enabler to his rebellious years back in the day.

- Always has a red solo cup or flask in his hand wherever he goes.

- He wears sunglasses despite no reason for needing them. Rarely takes em off.

- He has a lower back tattoo that says “Lucky You”

- You know exactly what he sounds like.

Baz Headcannons

I'm Baz's wife, so what I say is cannon. How do I know? Baz is my spouse <3 (Og Baz lvr :3)

Baz is a classic music lover; they were built on it. They appreciate the feeling of grace and the way that the music can just take control of things. However they do love the classics, from the 80/90's and you can hear them practically blare heavy metal in their office when doing paperwork. They say it helps them think.

They hate current pop. It's not that they find it disgusting, but rather it doesn't give the same feel as what they grew up listening to. They do like a few songs though. They find Paris Paloma very empowering.

Baz wears white and black gloves all the time.

Their favorite shows are the black and white ones, not that they're old, but they just feel more comforting.

Baz likes floral teas, not really a big fan of coffee or black tea due to their strong taste.

Onto the black and white films, they're hold on to a specific memory of them as a human. The black and white film playing in the background, it was midsummer and just a really hot day to all the windows and doors were open for the breeze to come in, tea was being made, and classical music was playing.

They never were one for comics, but in the 80/90's one of their favorites was the Marvel comics. Specifically Blade.

They don't like cinnamon as a topping, but they like if its added into things like batter or drinks.

They think it's unsanitary for people to drink from the wrist, they actually despise it if the person hadn't washed their hands AND WRISTS before allowing them to feed-

They hate putting in eye contacts, it makes their eyes feel weird

They love classic literature, like Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice, any Edgar Allen Poe book (they liked the dark grim poems), The Great Gatsby, Little Women, To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, The Iliad, etc.

They love architecture, specifically the roman amphitheater. I think if they could've gone back in time for a day, they would love to see a play there, but they know that ppl were treated differently than they are now

I think Baz would love Spider Lillies, and admire them for their meaning

Baz adores talking in flowers, having been a person to write letters (and still does), they tend to add a flower on their wax seal to express secret messages

Baz typically schedules meetings at their clan house, because you never know what ppl can have hidden up their sleeve in their own home.

One rule that they keep with them is that if they would rather stay and fight in their own home than be in the enemy territory with no layout of the land.

Imagine if DC made a WFA-style webtoon but for the Green Lanterns? Like, the GLs decide to come back to Earth and raise Keli as their kid bc they’re not gonna just toss her back to the junkyards of Bolivia

Like, it could be a really sweet yet unorthodox dynamic where there’s no clear parental figure and it’s more like seven older siblings trying to raise their youngest sister. Even better if Alan shows up every now and then to act like the grandpa of the family

They could live in the sector house that Simon was squatting in during the Humphries Green Lanterns run but John renovates it into an actual family home with enough space for all of them and any guests who stop by. So Keli can invite her Young Justice friends to her cool space home (eat your heart out Wayne manor)

But this doesn’t have to be all about Keli, the adults are important characters too and there needs to be more casual interactions between the older four corpsmen and the newer additions. Like Kyle and Jo fooling around by making constructs of anime characters or changing their costumes into cosplay. Or Jessica and John designing a terrarium for the house because you can never have too much green. Hal and Simon installing jet engines into a car just bc they can

Also just imagine all the guest characters that could show up. Not just the obvious ones like Kilowog but non-GLs like the JLI that Guy was part of. Imagine Jaime gets dragged along by Booster and Ted, and he gets into an argument with Keli about whether the Teen Titans or Young Justice is cooler

I love the Batfamily but we need more Lantern Family. It has so much comedic potential.

Hal Jordan is the overly-involved but well meaning middle sibling who keeps the family together; he’s kept in check by John Strewert, the fam’s permanently exasperated big brother who is always scrambling to come up with excuses for Oa about all the shenanigans the Lanterns get up to in Sector 2814.

Jessica Cruz is the Gay Wine Aunt. She is often seen lamenting her love life to Simon Baz, the Gay Wine Uncle.

Kyle Rayner is the Shy Artistic Baby of the fam that is doted on constantly. Alan Scott, the retired ex-military grandpa who spends his days carving wood and giving good life lessons, has taken Kyle under his wing and is training him.

Guy Gardener is the weird, loud, Republican cousin who is somehow always around. He’s super annoying but he’s also funny; he’s also lives in the attic.

And Jo Mullein brings the happy-go-lucky sister vibes, which is a big contrast to Kyle’s reservedness. She usually gets the two of them into lots of trouble and it’s up to the older Lanterns to save them.

Ugh. Give me some Lantfam. Please.

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

I'm diving now into the last 3 chapters of Basil Pitch's Diary. I'm in the big-picture, planning stage of writing them. Even with Scrivener, I have a hard time visualizing the flow of a story on a computer screen, so I pulled out a notebook I hadn't used in months.

Imagine my delight on finding the notes and drafts that I apparently wrote for the March, July, and August chapters. I'd forgotten they existed. People always seem to love a process post, so here you go.

here's some more from my shoulder to shoulder sequel! the timeline jumps around, this scene is set in 2013, and people who know their british politics/history will probably be able to surmise the occasion.

Simon starts singing along to Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead, and I join in with a laugh.

Twenty minutes later, most of the founding members of LGSM are crowded into our living room, eating and laughing and heckling the sombre News at Ten presenters. Niamh brought whisky, and it’s a good thing she did, because the champagne ran out quickly. Simon is on the phone to Trixie in Wales, laughing raucously. He can’t hold his alcohol like he used to, but it only endears me to him. Fiona is blowing up my phone- apparently my father is in pieces.

people are already setting off huge fireworks but baz is doing really well. he hears a boom and just comes running to me for a pat and he’s fine. he used to try to crawl into my skin and would sit shaking for several minutes. he’s still getting trazodone on the 4th bc it turns into a war zone here but i’d prefer not to traz him in the meantime since it totally knocks him on his ass. he’s doing hims Bazzy Best and for now it’s enough.

Happy Wednesday! Thank you @bookish-bogwitch , @monbons & @thehoneyedhufflepuff for the tags! I'm back on my drawing houses bullshit for COBB. This time it's the front and it's not any easier than the first time. Luckily, it's a gorgeous house so at least it's nice to look at while I agonize over details! Here's a little vignette:

While we're on WIPs, I've made progress on my cardigan and Tinkerbell dress! I've finally joined the fronts to the back and here's where it starts to get even more fiddly. In addition to the neck trim being knit with the body, the buttonholes are now knit in. I've at least done this before. It's an elegant solution, but it's time consuming. At least, once I finish the sleeves, I'll have a complete sweater! I'll just have to remember to block it

I also started the pattern drafting on one of two Tinkerbell dresses. We're going with another family and their daughter wanted to be Tinkerbell too. I always use the same dress pattern (The Geranium Dress by Made by Rae) as the base and I hack it as needed. The lazy sewist in me really doesn't want to do a muslin. Isn't it enough that I've meticulously labeled each pattern piece?

Pitch Manor Progress (which is sort of like Six Sentence Sunday but also not)

It's still Sunday for five more minutes, here. SO....

Okay, I haven't written anything on the Haunting of Simon Snow in awhile. But I have been working on my floor plan for Pitch Manor, which is more than tangentially related to the potential progress of that fic. And today's a rough one for me, so I'm going to post about it like it's progress so I might feel a tad better. Ahem.

OKAY. SO. I've been working on a floor plan for Pitch Manor for... pretty much forever and a day. I ran into trouble when I was writing chapter 2 of Haunting and Simon (Construction Worker!Simon) began to describe the house. I realized... I had no idea what he was describing.

(Warning, there is a long winded geeky ramble ahead. It's just how I do things. Ahem.)

What was supposed to be a quick "let's find a floor plan that I can just copy with some minor adjustments" project has since turned into my special interest project. As a history nerd, that means a lot of research, looking at dozens of floor plans for other houses ranging in origination from the 16th century to the 20th (and probably a few older than even that, since a ton of religious buildings were repurposed into estates. Think Downton *Abbey*.)

But this past week, I feel I've really pushed through a lot of the issues I kept running into. (I've ridiculously been trying to make it as true to the descriptions in Carry On as possible, and something that fits the purposes of my fic, which of course I have envisioned in many, sometimes incompatible, ways.) I've had to make some "this or that, you can't have both" choices, but I'm finally happy with the basic shape and layout.

Whew.

Just for funsies, here's a cross section snippet of my floor plan WIP. It's pretty messy still, but I'm still excited LOL

And (finally), instead of six sentences, I will instead offer you all six tidbits of information about Pitch Manor, as I've envisioned it:

There are four (4!) different sitting rooms. Because the aristocracy just loved their sitting rooms. (Parlor, Withdrawing room, Drawing room, and Reception/Receiving room.)

There is a ballroom. Try and stop me.

The original manor house was built in the 17th century, and has been refurbished and updated a few times.

The most extensive refurbishment happened in the 19th century, which is how it gained its current stylings. (Baz is a freaking troll and I love him for it. The most popular architectural style in the Victorian era was "Gothic Revival." "It's not Gothic; it's Victorian." Hah.)

Some rooms were added on during the Victorian refurbishment, including a Smoking room. They were very popular at that time.

The largest room in the house isn't the ballroom. It's the library. (It's two stories. Try and stop me.)

(I do hope to release the floorplans into the fandom wild after they're complete, in case anyone else wants to make use of them.)

Baz and Simon BOTH have Mars in Libra, (which is sort of unusual bc they were born in winter + summer of the same year; Mars moves through signs pretty quickly*)

I was curious about their Mars signs because Mars rules sex (rawr), esp for masc people, but it's an interesting planet for Simon + Baz because Mars also rules war, fighting, and conflict. And look at that - our boy soldiers both have Mars in the sign of harmony, balance, beauty, justice. They really were destined to end the war (by kissing)
