trying to finish the hunter playlist I made for the millionth time
#my cycle is i finish it -> i listen to other music and find new things to add -> end up dumping a ton of new songs into it#-> make it private because I need to move things around sometime and also cull it -> take for fucking ever to do this#-> finish it again#and so on#i swear everytime too im like. okay my goal is to REMOVE songs and then i end up adding more in the process#trying to order thungs how i want is so hard i change my mind all the time so then i need to go back#so i can listen to the songs around the new placement in succession to decide if it was a good move or not#and i put all this effort into ordering but honestly sometimes i have a hard time following my own narrative thought for the#songs and how theyre applicable#im a bad playlist maker#im a serial dumper at heart#whenever i start any playlist thats what i do#and then sometimes (like for character playlists or playlist swaps) i have to try and remedy said dump#so its a reasonable length + has a length with a multiple of 5 because idk i find multiples of 5 comforting#so if im doing anything involving amounts with intent then the amount must end in 5 or 0 or ill be Deeply unsatisfied

au - tim sneaking out of jason's room one night at the manor and accidentally locking eyes with dick who is sneaking out of bruce's room at the exact same time, breakfast is very awkward the next morning
(i did think of having it be jason instead of tim but honestly jason has 0 shame and even less issue outing himself if it means fucking with bruce and, to a lesser extent, dick)
i'm cackling I love these types of things so much. they're so silly. sometimes we deserve mindless crack for these ships. have a *very* low effort ficlet bc this just makes me snort, enjoy <3
Dick closed Bruce's door as quietly as he could. Usually, he didn't have to sneak around when he slept with Bruce. But the temporary room Bruce had given Jason in the manor was just down the hall, and Dick didn't feel like looking Jason in the eye if he walked out of Bruce's bedroom in the morning at the wrong time.
Just because he was pretty sure Jason knew, didn't mean he needed confirmation and confrontation.
Dick had almost caved to staying in bed with Bruce when Bruce tried to pull him back down, but he kept some level of wits about him, prying Bruce's arm off of him and giving him a final kiss on the cheek before heading for the door.
The one thing Dick did allow himself, though, was wearing one of Bruce's shirts instead of his own. It was a size too large on him but smelled safe and comforting. Dick breathed a quiet sigh of relief when the door latched silently. He let go of the handle, turning around to creep off to his own bedroom in another wing.
And found himself staring at another figure.
With all of the lights off and only faint moonlight streaming through the windows, Dick couldn't tell who it was, at first. His reaction was embarrassing no matter who it was, jumping nearly a foot backward and clutching a hand over his chest.
He was a goddamn vigilante. This was just embarrassing.
The other person wasn't nearly as shocked as Dick, but they stood perfectly still, staring with wide eyes that faintly reflected what little light illuminated their face. Dick squinted, leaning forward to see who it was.
"Tim?" Dick hissed, trying to keep his voice to a whisper. Bruce had fallen asleep and if Dick woke him up now, he was never going to get the stubborn bastard back to bed.
Tim, still looking like a deer in headlights, just blinked at Dick.
"What are you doing up this late?" Dick asked. They'd all agreed to take tonight's patrol off, letting Babs, Helena, Dinah, and Zinda handle it in exchange for tackling the massive human trafficking ring in the morning with fresh eyes and cleared heads. The job was the only thing that had gotten Jason to agree to work with them in the first place. Bruce barely managed to strong-arm Jason into sleeping in the manor, with a decent amount of guilting from Alfred.
Jason, who was in the room only a few feet away from Dick. The room that Tim's hand was resting on the doorknob of.
"That's Jason's room," Dick said slowly.
Tim just nodded. "I know." He wasn't whispering like Dick was, but his tone remained impossible to read.
He just saw Dick walk out of Bruce's room. Had he put it together? It was Tim, after all. if he hadn't yet, Dick assumed he only had a couple minutes before it dawned on Tim.
"What were you doing in Jason's room?" Dick frowned. If he focused on Tim, it could keep the focus off of him for as long as possible. Dick tried to ignore how fast his heart was beating.
Tim's expression was hard to make out in the dark. "We were talking about the case." Still, his tone remained entirely neutral.
Too neutral, for Tim.
"At two am?"
"Well, what were you doing?" Tim huffed slightly when he said it, folding his arms over his chest.
He was shirtless, Dick just realized.
Shirtless and coming out of Jason's room.
"I was-" Dick stumbled over his words, choking as he tried to come up with an alibi. "We were talking about the-"
"I already used that excuse, pick your own," Tim deadpanned. Dick was pretty sure he also rolled his eyes. "I've known about you and Bruce for years, you know. You don't have to pretend."
The noise that came out of Dick's throat was almost as mortifying as the realization that not only did Jason likely know, but so did Tim.
"It... okay it has not been years," Dick's face was hot and he was glad it was too dark for Tim to see his blush. "I mean- it's been a while but not years-"
"Whatever you say." Tim shrugged, sounding unconvinced. "There have been feelings between you two for years, close enough for me."
If Dick died, right here, in this hallway in front of Bruce's door, he hoped the cause of death would be put down as homicide instead of natural causes. Because every word from Tim's mouth made another piece of Dick die inside, just a little.
"It's none of your business either way." Dick tried to stand up straight to sound more in control of the situation, clearing his throat.
"Trust me, I don't want it to be my business."
Dick would've laughed, if this was happening to anyone but him.
"What about... you and Jason?" Dick asked carefully.
Tim shifted on his feet. "What about it? I told you, we were talking about the case."
"Right." It was Dick's turn to roll his eyes. "In his bedroom, at two am, without your shirt?"
Tim stared at Dick for a long, torturous moment. A moment that made Dick agree with Tim, about not wanting to know any sordid details.
"I'm going to bed," Tim said suddenly, turning away from Dick. "Goodnight."
Dick had a thousand more questions he wanted to ask. How Tim and Jason even got together, when it happened. Last Dick knew, they could barely stand to be in the same room.
But Tim was walking away at an alarmingly brisk pace and Dick just sighed. He was too tired and mortified about his own secrets to chase Tim down for an impromptu interrogation that would just end up embarrassing them both more.
Maybe it was best for Dick's sanity if he didn't know the specifics.
Dick didn't consider how awkward it would be until he was standing in the kitchen, staring at Jason bent over a cup of coffee.
Did Jason know Dick knew? It didn't seem like he did, but he had always had a good poker face.
When Tim ambled into the kitchen and grabbed overnight oats from the fridge, he didn't even look at Dick. He seemed to be pointedly avoiding it, sitting as far away from Dick as he could at the oversized dining room table.
All while Dick couldn't seem to stop staring.
"Your cereal is going to get soggy," Jason muttered, and it took Dick a moment to realize Jason was talking to him. "At least eat it before trying to explode my head with your mind, or whatever your staring problem is."
"I'm not-" Dick stuttered. he shut himself up with a mouthful of cereal when Cass gave him an odd look.
Would she be able to figure it out just from his body language?
Dick had never fully understood the lengths her ability to read people could go. he looked away from her and stared at a random spot on the table, trying to eat at a normal pace.
Bruce was the last to wander into the kitchen. He squeezed Dick's shoulder as he walked by, making Dick jump. It was an innocent enough touch that no one would question, but all Dick could think about was the brief look from Tim before he quickly averted his eyes again.
The silence around the table was going to eat Dick alive. He started eating cereal faster.
"Oh for fuck's sake," Jason broke the tension, throwing his head back and slamming an empty mug down onto the table. "Everyone knows you two are fucking, alright?" He gestured between Dick and Bruce. "Stop being so goddamn weird about it, you're acting like there's a bomb in the room."
Bruce choked on his coffee. "Jason." He tried to sound reprimanding, but his voice was a few octaves too high.
Dick threw his hands in the air. "I knew you knew about that, but I didn't know about you and Tim until last night so excuse me for feeling a little awkward."
"You didn't know about what?" Bruce nearly yelled, spinning around to face Jason.
"Damnit, Dick!" Tim groaned, putting his head in his hands.
Jason just scoffed, pointing a fork at Bruce. "Oh don't even give me that self-righteous bullshit-"
Their argument went back and forth while Tim just rubbed his temples, muttering to himself and glaring at Dick.
Worst of all, Dick was pretty sure Cass was giggling next to him under her covered mouth.
Dick just sighed and ducked his head, dutifully waiting for the ground to open up and swallow him whole.
So much for his breakfast.

Batfam Kill Counts
I believe that the kill counts for the Batfam are in the following order: 1. Jason (~500); 2. Tim (100-300); 3. Alfred (20-100); 4. Damian (~50); 5. Bruce (5-10); 6. Dick (1-5); 7. Cass (1)
However, based on the absolute certain facts and not just speculation, kill counts are as follows, I believe: 1. Jason (83 confirmed); 2. Alfred (many); 3. Damian (3+); 4&5. Cass & Bruce (1); 6. Dick (1-ish); 7. Everyone else (0)
These aren’t counting vampires or pre-crisis early Batman characterization. I have probably missed some stuff because I have only read some comics, but from what I’ve read and Google this is my general understanding.
Reasoning explained:
1. Jason — Jason has 83 confirmed kills, but honestly I don’t buy that he hasn’t killed more than that. I’m interpreting “confirmed” as in “we have absolute proof that the Red Hood killed them” whereas his actual kill count is much higher. I headcanon it as somewhere around 500 people, but the number could be in the thousands.
2. Tim — This one’s controversial…I personally think Tim killed people when blowing up the League of Assassins bases, but not nearly as many as people often say. He definitely blew up the bases BY blowing up their computer systems, and there are explosions shown. Probably around 100-300 people, as a side effect and not the goal.
3. Alfred — Served in the military, but people SEVERELY overestimate the number of kills a soldier would have from that, especially as he presumably wasn’t dropping bombs. In WWII estimates for average number of kills per soldier range from 5-20. Alfred was likely exceptional, but I doubt that he killed more than 100 people. He may actually be #4 on this list, with fewer kills than Damian.
4. Damian — Confirmed kills are Spook and Nobody, and he did those so easily that he has DEFINITELY killed routinely, but again, I think people attribute far more kills to him than he actually has done. He was raised in the League of Assassins, but they don’t just kill willy-nilly. He’s probably killed <10 people to prove he’s capable of it and <100 people (maybe even 0) for the League. Overall, I don’t buy that Damian has killed more than 60 people.
5. Bruce — I think he has accidentally killed a significant number of people. This one’s also controversial, but his methods are brutal and he’s been working for a long time. It’s likely that he’s done enough damage that the criminal dies in the hospital multiple times. He’s also done things like leaving KGBeast to die trapped underground or bleeding out unable to move in the tundra by his hand. I don’t think he’s watched someone die by his hands, but…yeah. He has also killed Darkseid for sure.
6. Dick — Killed Joker (who was revived soon afterwards, so it half-counts), has also worked with Batman so long that I think he has killed other people by accident too. Has also displayed disregard for if his actions result in a criminal being killed by other criminals, especially early on in Nightwing (1996). Considers himself to have killed Blockbuster, but…yeah no.
7. Cass — 1 confirmed kill. After that, she ran and put in a large amount of effort to avoid killing ever again. She became evil, but I’m pretty sure this has been unwritten and most people refuse to accept it anyway.
To my knowledge, Steph, Barbara, and Duke haven’t killed anyone, and likely have not accidentally killed anyone either due to their methods.
Of course, feel free to disagree!

TRAPPED ✭
—(🎧)—> when things get strained between you and your boyfriend, you wonder if he wants to still be with you or if he's just pretending.
pairing - bf!chan x fem!reader
genre - est. relationship, angst & comfort
word count - 0.8k
warnings - insecurities & fighting
You sighed loudly as you stared blankly at the computer screen.
Recently, you had been caught up with this 4 page essay that your chemistry professor insisted be done by tomorrow, and you had barely touched the first paragraph.
Lately, everything had felt like it was going down hill. School had been tumbling essay after essay on top of regular work, your friends who you assumed were your people had been ghosting you, and your family had been absent too.
But worst of all, he wasn’t there.
At first, Chan would just claim to have some extra work at the studio to finish, insisting that a wave of inspiration just hit him. This didn’t bother you much at in the beginning, the extra time only keeping him away for an extra 30 minutes before he came home and took care of you.
Then, it started getting bad.
He would stay in the studio for full on hours, sometimes not coming home until 2, or insisting he’d stay at the dorms that night. And on the off chance he actually came home, he never had any energy to focus on you.
You thought this wouldn’t bother you much, telling your self that this was just the price of dating an idol.
Telling yourself this as a tear rolls down your cheek.
You didn’t even realize you began to cry, mind too focused on somehow finding a connection to the previous sentence. Mind to focused on how much you want him to comfort you and tell you it will all be okay.
Like he used to.
You didn’t notice the front door open, too busy swimming in your thoughts. In walks Chan at some unholy hour of the night, probably around 2am.
“Hey y/n, what are you still doing up?” Chan expresses, surprised since he usually finds you fast asleep this late into the night.
When he doesn’t get a response, he moves closer to you, assuming you may have had in earpods. However, when he sees the tears running down your face rapidly, something you only just realized, he starts to panic.
“Y/n? Baby what wrong?” He asks, obviously worried. Slowly you begin to look over to him, not even sure if you recognize him anymore.
“Oh. Your home.” you scoff, standing up, disappointed at how he only started caring now that you’re crying. “Shocked that you even remembered that I live here.”
“Baby, What? Where is all of this coming from”? Chan said, slightly angry, which completely set you off.
“I don’t know Chris, where is it coming from? Maybe from the fact that you barely come home anymore! Or maybe it’s that you don’t check on me or even ask me how my days going! Chris, you put 0 effort into me..into us anymore. I’m tired of coming home from an exhausting day and having no one to talk to, no one to be near, no one to love! You’re barely even intimate with me anymore- honestly i can’t name the last time we were!” you screamed, finally getting out everything that had been building up for the last month.
“Christopher, what i’m saying is you don’t care about me anymore. All you do is work, which I didn’t mind at first but now, you don’t even put any attention on me. It feels like you don’t want me anymore- like y-you don’t love m-me anymore.” you choked, falling to the floor in sobs.
Immediately, Chan ran towards you and scooped you in his arms. He began to slowly rub his hands alongside your back, whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
Holding you tight, talking to you sweetly and slowly, crying with you as you cried. Those were all the things you missed from the man who layes next to you.
Once you began to calm down, Chan started speaking. You assumed it was going to be a pile of excuses, but no, it was sincere enough to make you tear up again.
“Y/n, first I want to thank you for letting this off your chest, I had no idea that my absence meant this much to you. I have been so busy with work and music that I have lost sight of what is most important to me… which is you. I am so sorry, that you had to deal with everything, and I am so so sorry.. that i wasn’t there. I promise I’ll make some more time for you, no matter how packed my schedule gets, i’ll never let you feel like this again. I love you so much baby.” Chan declared, pulling you into a kiss.
This wasn’t any kiss. This was a kiss where he confirmed everything he previously stated was far from false. Deep and passionate, yet still loving and innocent.
After pulling away, the looked you in your teary eyes, only confirmed the truth.
The truth being that while it would be hard, and not everything would be immediately fixed, he was going to make it work one way or another.
For you.

Omg, rinna requests are open ^0^ (and don't worry, you can take as much time as you want) I'd like to request leona with a reader who plays a lot of sports and sucks at all of them 😀 (me. i mean me lmao) Have a great day 💕💕💕💕 AND I SAW YOUR ISEKAI JADE FIC I REFUSE TO SIMP FOR SLIMY EELS. WHY.
the chasing game
Pairing: Leona Kingscholar x gn!reader
Synopsis: Leona's ego is a bit too strong, and oh dear, he thinks you have crush on him
Tags: fluff, misunderstandings (but they're cute), slight pining, leona is a tsundere
Word count: 707
Notes: my best friend and i had a lot of fun with this idea hehe, i hope you'll like it too hehe
Masterlist
Leona thinks you have some ulterior motive at first
why are you trying so hard at spelldrive??? you're not doing that well honestly
he finds no reason whatsoever you'd be so energetic when you're even performing that well
so he starts thinking... maybe you have an ulterior motive??
and somehow, probably because of his big ego he comes to the conclusion that you have a crush on him!!
after all, he is the captain of the spelldrive club
how else would you be able to get his attention?
in his mind, you're just a small little herbivore who's trying to get in his good graces
the smug lion is pretty amused by all this, and he can't say he minds having you around
you being that enthusiastic about playing sports, and the determination to get better no matter how many times you fail, is pretty impressive to him
though he sometimes cringes internally with how bad you're doing
by the time he can't take it, he'll saunter over to you and give you some advice
he'll sound like a jerk doing it, but if you read between the lines, he's giving you good advice
it's probably because he's been studying you for so long
so you listen to his advice, and oh? that shot went pretty well!!
you're jumping around all excited! finally there's some improvement!! maybe there are some sports cells in you after all
you get a bit too excited in thanking him and you throw your arms around him in the heat of the moment
he almost instantly pushes you away, obviously, saying you're sweaty and mumble grumbling
but there's no denying the way his tail is swishing around and the slightest hint of pink on his cheeks it's the sunset he says
from that point on, he'll occasionally join you as you practice, giving you advice and commenting on what you're doing wrong every time he feels like it
it also gives him a pretty good excuse to not actually participate in the sport
then again, he can't say he dislikes playing when you're in the audience
it usually ends up with you gushing over how impressive he was in the game, asking him if you could teach him how to do what he did, and in general just praise all throughout
this all but feeds into his pride, and he has the widest smirk on his face
he gets into an awful mood when you stop showing up for a while though
he becomes even more irritable, and there's more of a murderous aura about him when he's playing against the other guys
it doesn't take long for him to start asking around about where you've gone
epel is more than happy to solve this mystery for him so he'll stop beating people around
though he's pretty amazed by Leona actually putting effort into the games
and excuse me??? you're hanging around in the basketball club now??
little does he know, but you've merely shifted interest from spelldrive to basketball
but in his delusional misunderstood mind, this means you don't have a crush on him anymore
hah. that ended soon enough. he doesn't care at all.
... okay maybe he does actually care a bit
"Oi. Herbivore," Leona calls out to you in the hallway. You turn around and you're faced with his disgruntled expression. "Are ya not comin' to Spelldrive anymore?"
You blink at his question. "Oh! I think so? I got interested in basketball lately haha," you chuckle as you remember the little rivalry Ace started. "You don't mind, do you?"
"Hah. Why'd I mind?" he huffs, but there's something about his voice that makes you feel like he does mind.
"Leona," you close the distance between the two of you. "Would it be okay if I join you for lunch?" His eyes visibly widen at your request.
"I just really like the atmosphere in the garden, but I don't want to interrupt you."
He seems to contemplate it for a moment, emerald eyes shut and eyebrows furrowed. But when he opens his eyes again, there's a certain softness to them.
"Hmph. Do whatever you want." he says, turning around to leave, his tag swishing back and forth once again.

⭒ Kafka x f!reader
⭒ sorry for the small wait, but I’m here now :3 Ty for requesting <3
⭒ possessive behavior (on both ends)
⭒ When you two finally decided to take things seriously, so many things changed for the better! But it also had its pros and cons with that
⭒ for starters Kafka starts being more and more open with you! Even in public, she’s not afraid to show you off and brag ;) “Yeah she’s all mines, and she’s perfect.”
⭒ Kafka starts worrying about your well being more. At first you were so used to coming on missions with her to complete certain tasks but now she just wants you to sit out on some missions she thinks are too dangerous for you to handle. “Just stay back this once, promise I’ll let you come next time love.”
⭒ She gets more greedy possessive. She wants you around her more, she just wants you so bad, she wants her princess to be by her side all the time. Even you’ve started craving her even more than usual, giving her the silent treatment when you get slighty jealous when she talks to another girl or gives her attention to them. fuck she’ll even tease you about it when she finds out “oh? So that’s what this is all about hm? My little princess wants all my attention on her?”
⭒ Kafka LOVESS cafe dates with you, she loves the comfortable atmosphere that the cafe holds, that’s like her main spot to take you everyday before work
⭒ Kafka loves sleeping over at your house! It’s so much more comfortable there. She eventually just moved in with you after some months of convincing her tho !
⭒ Kafka enjoys it when you put your weight onto hers. She has no problem with helping you fix your problems or just helping you in general. And please also check on her too! She appreciates a lot “thank you for caring about me love, I’m perfectly fine :)”
⭒ You and Kafka actively put a lot of effort into your relationship, whether it’s small or big you both greatly appreciate each other <3

- The assigned photographer of his class, he gets somehow the best and also the most cursed things ever and will use them for black mail as a joke (Sakura is mostly the victim)
- If anyone gets hurt in class he is always there with cute bandaids (Star ones, Sanrio ones, really if its a cute set he has it) and some disinfectant
- Would a 100 do the opposite of what his family tells and go out of his way to piss them off.
- His older sister has a lot of social anxiety due to their traditional family so he has at least once a week a girls night with her so she can try to relax and open up to him
-Will a 100 spoil friends since he has the financial stability and definitely is the one to buy good hair products to keep the hair soft and often gives it as presents for friends so their hair doesn't feel like straw due to dyeing it all the time
- Has a TON of double plushies from arcades by accident and gives them as present to classmates and when he sees someone who could use a plushie like some random girl or child that is sad like "Oh you don't seem to be doing well sweetie, you can have this"
Kusumi
-Will stop walking to take pictures of things he finds aesthetic and then send to a group chat (kaji and Enomoto)
-walks his dog at night and sometimes Kaji joins too when he is having trouble at home
-If anyone in class is feeling down Kusumi will definitely try to ask and offer help and support but never make anyone feel forced to share but since he is so kind and easy going most of the time people spill the beans
- Since in manga he said he saw kaji a lot around their hood school and is glad to be friends with him I believe he somehow looks up to Kaji and he might be the reason he started to participate in brawls and finding out he is good at kicking ass
- Has the perfect grades without trying and will often be at Enomoto's house with Kaji trying to teach them and explain. Kaji falls asleep and Enomoto folds a paper and very softly hits the top of kajis head
-He tries to keep 0 sugar lollipops on him so if kaji runs out he has spares and can help
- Definition if very respectful very demure, will give shoulder pats on anyone that is feeling stressed that he knows, which scared Kaji a lot in the beginning with a lot of cussing
- If he has a voice i think he doesnt like his voice so he doesnt speak but one day he is at home with Kaji and Enomoto and by accident hits the foot of the corner of a furniture and will yell "SHIT".. thr silence after and the shock face from Kajis face while Enomoto's just laughs while kusumi blushes out of shyness and types fast as hell apologizing
- In the opposite way now if he is mute from vocal cords damage or just never was able to talk I think Kaji in the first year would question and try his best to protect Kusumi because people can be cruel to things they don't understand. I believe if kusumi had bullies pre school he wouldn't give them attention and ignored but at furin high I believe anyone in class would beat anyone's ass for each other
Hiragi
-He sometimes as insomnias because of his stomach issues (definitely no projecting myself rn ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ)
- I mean he is the definition of Father at Furin High. Have an issue and want to talk to someone responsible and that wont make a fuss or cause havoc? he is the man.
- Very wise but still makes bad decisions for his health
- Definitely the one to post mirror photos with a rock band music on top
- Used to drag Kaji and Sako to concerts, since kaji likes rowdy places and music, but sako? Sako would go and suffer of "why was I dragged here.."
- Is the gentleman at the moshpits making sure no one hurts anyone and no one specially is an idiot to a girl
- Likes to go to the aquarium from time to time to watch Sharks and listen to music while doing so
- I believe he values his own free time and likes to spend it alone to relax but somehow always ends up overthinking if something bad is happening and what if someone isn't doing well and somehow ends up with stomach pain while texting everyone if they are ok or somehow ends up with kaji at his house and they hang out in silence listening to music
- Kaji stays so much time at his house that Hiragis mum considers him as a second child and assumes he is going to eat dinner there and sleep and if kaji says no she refuses to let him leave the house without eating something first
- Sleeps on one side due to his stomach issues since laying on the side helps to reduce gastric acid to come up to mouth (Y e p thats a thing..)
- He often cooks for his mum because she is always at work and he helps his best around the house and chores and since she arrives late at night he waits so they can eat dinner together and socialize a bit, besides his mum believes he is a better cook than her
-Hates phone calls because most of the times phone calls equal chaos and something bad so anytime he has a call from anyone you bet he is getting gas-kun out of his pocket at the same time

Sodie Snakification Modifications!
Buckle up because I have a LOT to tell y'all about the making of this one.
From the beginning I knew I wanted the new Sodie snakifications to be based more on the liquid drink itself rather than the straws and can it comes in. I knew that would involve some playing around with new materials, but I had no idea the ordeal I was in for.
Initially I had dedicated a very small unused area of the Sodies' texture maps to a transparent colour that would be used for the 'liquid' parts. I first tested it on a placeholder head part and it worked just fine. But when I went to use it for the limbs, there was no longer any transparency. This confused me.
And so began a several days long search for the solution to this, which involved custom materials, testing different geometry, and even messing with xml and irrlicht files. Unfortunately nothing worked. I knew my textures and materials were not the problem because transparency worked on the head part, but for reasons I couldn't fathom it only worked on the head part. And I knew transparency was possible on limb parts because the Hunnabee parts use it.
Eventually, I got an answer from the Young Horses developer Kevin on the official Young Horses Discord server. Apparently, all I needed to do was copy a line of XML from the Hunnabee definition file to the definition file of my Bugsnax of choice. Honestly I'm not sure how I'd missed that in all my previous efforts. The name of the value I needed was "InventoryHasTransparency", maybe the "inventory" part threw me off? Anyway, I have to give my greatest thanks to Kevin for once again saving my mod (the first instance was right at the beginning)
So I had working transparency on the limbs, but at that point the limbs were just flat-coloured without any bump/normal detail. The space the limbs occupied in the UV layout was far too small to put any meaningful detail in.
The thing with Bugsnak UVs is that the eye UVs take up (in my opinion) a lot more space than they need to. One could optimise the texture space significantly by overlapping identical eyelid, pupil, and eye UV islands. I could do this easily, except the animated models of the bugs themselves us .X (DirectX) files instead of .obj files. I have had zero(0) luck with working with DirectX files in Blender. The importer breaks animations, and every exporting option breaks them further.
However, I had a cheeky solution. You see, DirectX files can be opened in Notepad++ and have semi-comprehensible blocks of text data. This includes texture/UV layout data. So if I could import the Sodie's DirectX file, ignore the broken animations, change the UVs, and re-export it (once again ignoring the broken animations), I could theoretically just copy the modified texture layout data from one to the other.
The only problem was that I was exporting as an obj or fbx file and then using FragMotion to convert it to a DirectX file, and Fragmotion insists on triangulating any tetragonal polygons. This, for some reason, absolutely breaks the result of my attempted data transfer. Thankfully I found an online converter that converts fbx files into non-triangulated DirectX files, and my convoluted UV data transfer plan ended up working perfectly.
With that, I had plenty of space to put a much nicer bubbly liquid texture, and use that for the limbs. Anyway, I'm running short on time today, so thanks for attending my TEDtalk.

As Kyle pulled up to the dorm, Brit turned around from the passenger seat, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “You owe me all the details later!” she said with a teasing grin.
You laughed, feeling a mix of excitement and exhaustion. “Definitely. I’ll fill you in tomorrow. Thanks for the ride back, you two,” you said, offering a grateful smile.
Kyle gave you a friendly nod. “Of course. Have a good night.”
You grabbed your things from the back seat and made your way to your dorm. The quiet walk gave you time to reflect on the night, particularly Eddie’s lingering gaze and warm smile. A small nagging worry crept in—what if he was just being friendly? But the hope of something more quickly soothed that fear.
Opening your dorm room door, you felt an overwhelming urge to crash into bed. You lazily washed your face and changed into your comfortable pajamas, letting the day’s excitement settle into a peaceful tiredness.
In the afternoon, you wake up to the buzz of your phone beneath you. Mindlessly, you reached for it, wondering who might have texted you and opened the message.
freakydndm0nster: Hope you got home safe!! When you free for the movie night?
Fuck, I didn’t mean to open it.
You: i did, i hope you did too and im honestly free whenever :D
He’s already typing back, AHdh.
freakydndm0nster: Okok freakydndm0nster: Would tonight be okay? I know it’s soon but I have band practice tomorrow night. Unless you’d like to join and we can watch a movie afterwards?
You: either works! It would be nice to see you practice tho :0
freakydndm0nster: Tomorrow night it is then :))
You couldn’t help but grin, staring at the ceiling as you imagined the evening ahead. You’d get to see Eddie in action, which was something you’d been curious about since he first mentioned his band. And the movie night was just an added bonus. The mix of excitement and nerves fluttered in your stomach.
The rest of the day passed in a blur of anticipation. You caught Brit up to speed and she shared her excitement, you both agreed to meet up tomorrow. After chatting you tried to get some work done but, your mind kept drifting back to Eddie. What would his band’s practice be like? What would they sound like? And, of course, what would it be like to watch a movie with him afterward?
When evening finally rolled around, you found yourself digging through your closet for the perfect outfit. It wasn’t a date just a hangout, but you still wanted to look nice. After several outfit changes, you settled on a casual yet cute look that you hoped struck the right balance between “I’m chill” and “I put in some effort.” Again, not a date.
As you made your way to the band’s practice space, which was located in a building on the edge of campus, you couldn’t help but feel a little jittery. When you arrived, you took a deep breath before heading inside. The building had an old, worn-out charm to it, with posters and flyers about local bands plastered on the walls.
You found Eddie waiting for you in the lobby, his face lighting up when he saw you. “Hey! Glad you could make it,” he said, his warm smile making your heart skip a beat. So hot.
“Hey! Thanks for inviting me,” you replied, trying to sound casual. “I’m so excited.”
“Hell yeah, I’m glad”. He led you through a narrow hallway to a door marked “Practice Room 3.” Next to it was a paper stuck to the door saying ‘Corroded Coffin in session’. As he opened it, you were hit with a burst of sound—drums, guitars, and a bass creating a lively, energetic atmosphere. The band was already in the middle of a song, and you couldn’t help but be impressed by their talent.
Eddie gestured to a couple of folding chairs set up along one side of the room. “Make yourself comfortable. These are the guys I’m always telling you about. This is Jake, our guitarist; Sarah, our drummer; and Max, who plays bass. Everyone say hi!” He shouted a bit over the noise as some paused and greeted while others gave a nod.
You took a seat and watched, captivated, as Eddie’s band began to play. The music was fantastic—lively and full of energy, and Eddie was clearly in his element. The way he played with such passion made you admire him even more. I always wanted to see his band, to see him play but didn’t want to bother him. God, this is amazing.
After their set, Eddie came over to you, sweaty but smiling broadly. “So, what did you think?”
“It was awesome!” you exclaimed. “You guys are really good.”
“Thanks! That means a lot,” Eddie said, looking at you with such softness it makes your heart melt.
The band members joined the conversation, and you talked to them about their music and upcoming gigs. They were all friendly and you could tell why Eddie enjoyed being part of their group.
As you and Eddie finished loading the last of the equipment into his van, you both became more comfortable and the energy was evident. The heavy lifting was done, and Eddie turned to you with a grin. “I told you, you don’t have to carry anything heavy. I wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself.”
“Oh, please,” you said with a playful eye-roll. “I’m more than capable of handling a couple of amp cases. But I appreciate the chivalry.”
Eddie chuckled. “Well, I wouldn’t want you to miss out on a chance to admire my biceps. They’re a crucial part of the show.”
You laughed, shaking your head. “I’ll take your word for it. Though I have to say, the band’s performance was impressive enough to make up for it.”
He looked genuinely pleased. “Why, thank you! We work hard, so it’s nice to hear that. By the way, if you ever want to join us for practice or a gig, you’re always welcome. It’s cool to have someone there who’s genuinely interested.” Fuck yes!! Can’t wait to see more bicep action.
“I’d love that,” you replied. “It’s been really fun getting to see you in action. And hey, maybe one day I’ll even get to hear some behind-the-scenes band drama.”
Eddie raised an eyebrow with mock seriousness. “Oh, you’re in for it then. We have plenty of drama. You just have to promise not to tell anyone about Jake’s obsession with perfecting his guitar solos.”
“I’ll keep the secrets,” you promised with a grin. “On one condition—you have to let me bring popcorn to the next practice.”
“Deal,” Eddie said, extending a hand to shake on it. “You drive a hard bargain, but it’s worth it.”
After securing everything in the van, Eddie suggested grabbing late-night dinner. “There’s a great 24-hour diner not far from here. How about we head there for some food and then watch that movie?”
You agreed, and the two of you made your way to the diner. The neon lights of the place created a warm, nostalgic glow as you walked in. It was cozy and filled with a mix of students and locals, creating a relaxed atmosphere.
As you both settled into a booth, Eddie immediately started teasing you about your movie choices. “So, what’s your go-to movie snack? I’m guessing you’re a popcorn fanatic.”
“Oh, absolutely,” you said with a mock-serious expression. “But I’m not picky. I also appreciate a good nacho or candy combo. I’m a firm believer that variety is key although nothing beats the buttery goodness of popcorn.”
Eddie raised an eyebrow. “A connoisseur of movie snacks, then. Impressive. I might have to up my game if I want to keep up with your standards.” You both smile at each other.
Eddie’s grin widened as he leaned back in his seat, clearly enjoying the playful banter. “You know, I’m really glad to see you letting loose like this,” he said, his tone sincere and warm. “I always felt like there was more to you than what you let on, and it’s awesome to see this side of you.”
You glanced at him, feeling a rush of warmth from his words. “I appreciate that. I’ve always been a bit shy about showing this side of myself. But I have to admit, it’s easier when I’m around people I feel comfortable with.”
Eddie nodded, his eyes softening. “I get that. And I’m really glad you’re feeling comfortable. You’ve got this cool energy about you, and it’s great to see it come out. I’ve always thought you were interesting, but it’s nice to see you in a more relaxed setting.”
You blushed slightly, feeling a bit self-conscious but pleased by his compliment. “Well, I guess you’ve got a knack for making people feel at ease. It’s been really nice hanging out with you, both last night and tonight. I know we only hang out with the group but still. It is nice.” It's nice to finally have some one on one.
Eddie’s expression turned thoughtful as he took a sip of his soda. “I agree… you know, sometimes it’s hard to tell what people are really like beneath the surface. I mean, I knew you were cool, but seeing you interact and be yourself is refreshing. It’s like getting to know a whole new side of you.”
You chuckled, feeling a mix of gratitude and amusement. “I guess I’ve always been more comfortable in the background. It’s easier to observe than to be the center of attention.”
“That makes sense,” Eddie said, his gaze fixed on you with genuine interest. “But I’m really glad you’re coming out of your shell.”
The waitress arrived with your orders, breaking the momentary silence between you. As you both dug into your late-night dinner, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, but the underlying connection remained. You couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of excitement.
“So,” Eddie said after a few moments, his eyes twinkling with mischief, “what’s the movie you’re going to suggest for our movie night? I need to prepare myself for the cinematic brilliance.”
You laughed, enjoying the playful challenge. “Oh, I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve. But I’m open to suggestions too. What kind of genres do you like?”
Eddie’s eyes lit up as he leaned forward, clearly animated by the topic. “I’m a fan of pretty much anything with a good story. Horror, comedy, drama—I’m all in.”
“Well, then,” you said, raising an eyebrow, “I think we might have to do a movie marathon next time. I have a few obscure gems I think you’d really enjoy.”
Eddie grinned, clearly excited by the idea. “I’m in. And hey, maybe we can turn this into a regular thing. You know, a movie night tradition?”
“I’d like that,” you said, feeling a sense of anticipation for future plans. “It sounds like a lot of fun.”
As you both finished your meal and paid the check, Eddie’s smile remained bright, and his easygoing demeanor made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. The conversation continued to flow effortlessly, and you found yourself feeling more and more at ease with each passing minute.
When you finally walked out of the diner and back to Eddie’s van, the night air was cool and refreshing. Eddie opened the door for you, and you both climbed in.
“How about we watch Heavy Metal?” Eddie said as he started the engine. “1981, sci-fi?”
"I believe I’ve heard of it but haven’t seen it yet."
Eddie flashed a grin. "Fuck yeah. It’s got a mix of sci-fi, animation, and some pretty wild storytelling. I thought it’d be a fun pick for our movie night."
As Eddie drove, his music played and you both sat in comfortable silence as you tapped to the music. All your small fantasies and wishes about him were coming true, and you were excited for the future.
When you arrived at Eddie’s place, he quickly set up his living room for the movie. The space was cozy, with dim lighting and a well-worn couch that looked perfect for a relaxed movie night. Eddie grabbed some blankets and a couple of pillows, making the setting even more inviting. He waved you to it.
“Make yourself comfortable,” Eddie said, placing a blanket on you as he prepared the DVD. “I’ll grab us some more snacks. You want anything specific?”
You thought for a moment. “Maybe just some more popcorn if you have it? I think I’ve already had my fill of real food.”
Eddie laughed. “Got it. I’ll be right back.”
As he went to the kitchen, you settled into the couch, enjoying the cozy atmosphere. The anticipation of watching the movie with Eddie made you feel even more comfortable. When he returned with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn and a few drinks, he flopped down next to you, his relaxed demeanor making it easy to feel at ease. “I made sure to make it buttery like you mentioned”
“It’s so lovely of you to remember,” you said a bit sarcastically. Eddie chuckled as he nudged you playfully. “Of course! I aim to please. Now, let’s get this show on the road.” He handed you the bowl of popcorn, the buttery smell wafting up and making your mouth water.
You snuggled into the couch as Eddie hit play on the movie. The dim light of the TV flickered across the room, casting a soft glow that made the space feel even cozier. Eddie settled next to you, close enough that you could feel the warmth of his body and the occasional brush of his arm against yours.
The movie started, and Eddie’s enthusiasm for it was palpable. “I’m so excited for you to see this,” he said, his eyes bright with anticipation. “It’s got some unique animation and an awesome soundtrack.”
You grinned, leaning back and trying to relax in the comfortable setting. “I’m excited too. I love discovering new films, especially ones with a bit of a cult following.”
You both got lost in its vibrant, animated world. Eddie occasionally glances over at you, catching your reactions and commenting on scenes, his enthusiasm adding to the fun of watching the film. You found yourself laughing and enjoying the movie more than you expected, and Eddie’s presence made the experience even better.
At one point, Eddie turned to you with a mischievous grin. “So, how are we doing so far? Any thoughts on the movie?”
You laughed. “It’s amazing! I can see why it’s considered a classic. The animation is quite unique, and the story is wild in the best way possible. Plus, your company makes it more enjoyable.”
Eddie’s smile widened. “Glad you’re enjoying it. And hey, if you ever want to discuss the deeper meanings of animated sci-fi or anything else, I’m your guy.”
You both laughed, the conversation flowing easily between movie commentary and personal anecdotes. It felt natural and effortless like you’d known each other for much longer than you actually had.
As the credits rolled and the movie came to an end, you both sat back, feeling a satisfied sense of closure to the night. Eddie looked over at you, his expression warm and relaxed. “So, what did you think of our movie night? Successful, I hope?”
“Absolutely successful,” you said with a smile. “It’s been great, don’t want it to end yet but I do have classes tomorrow.”
Eddie’s smile softened as he looked at you. “I’m glad you enjoyed it. I had a great time too. Let’s get to the van, sweetheart.”
You nodded, feeling a mix of contentment and a little sadness that the night was coming to an end. “That sounds perfect. Thanks, Ed.” I can’t even react properly, I’m too tired. But he said, sweetheart!!!
As you both began to gather your things and prepare to head out, you couldn’t help but notice how he treats you with such kindness. Despite being in the same friend group you both never talked outside of it, stayed in your bubbles. It warms your heart to know that you two are growing closer and more comfortable.
The drive back to your dorm was relaxing. The hum of the engine and the soft glow of the streetlights outside created a peaceful ambiance. Eddie kept the conversation light, sharing funny stories about the band and making you laugh.
As you approached your dorm, you felt a twinge of reluctance to say goodbye. Eddie parked the van and turned to you, his expression a mix of warmth and something that felt almost like hesitation.
“Well, here we are,” he said, his voice gentle. “Is it okay if I walk you to your dorm? Or at least to the entrance?”
You smiled at his offer, feeling a warm flutter in your chest. “I’d like that,” you said softly. “Thanks, Eddie.”
He nodded, giving you a reassuring smile as you both got out of the van and started walking toward your dorm. The night air was crisp, and the quiet campus was calming. Eddie walked beside you, his presence comforting and easygoing.
As you reached the entrance to your dorm, the reality of the night coming to an end started to sink in. You turned to Eddie, feeling a mix of gratitude and a hint of sadness that the evening was over. “I had a great time tonight,” you said sincerely. “Thanks for inviting me and for making it so fun.”
Eddie’s eyes softened as he looked at you. “I’m glad you did. I had a great time too.”
Eddie’s eyes lingered on you for a moment, and then he added, “Before you go, I just wanted to say that it’s been nice getting to know you better. You’ve got great energy about you, and I’m glad we got to spend some time together. I’ll be looking forward to our next movie night, and maybe I’ll even try to keep up with your snack standards”
You laughed lightly, your heart fluttered at his words, “I’ll hold you to that, and thank you, Ed. I feel the same way.”
There was a brief, comfortable silence as you both took in the moment. Eddie finally broke it with a playful grin. “I guess I should let you get some rest before your classes tomorrow. I’ll text you about our next movie night but remember, if you ever need someone to hang out with, I’m your guy.” He is too cute. I want to hug him but I think we are both playing it safe.
You laughed softly. “Got it. And the same goes for you.”
Eddie’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “Deal. Goodnight, sweetheart.”
“Goodnight,” you replied, feeling a little giddy as you entered your dorm.

As per the anon's ask about the People Magazine and A's insta I did a lil investigative journalism and let me tell you this: it doesn't seem like the common practice to give so many redirects to the instagram profiles of the subject of their articles.
I looked up 3 random & recent "who is xyz's girlfriend" articles and also searched any other People articles about the said gfs and compared them with the ones on Luke and Antonia.
1. Cara Delevingne & Minke:
https://people.com/who-is-minke-cara-delevingne-8668520 --- only 1 redirect to Minke’s insta
https://people.com/cara-delevingne-girlfriend-minke-second-anniversary-8659081 --- just once, gf’s
https://people.com/cara-delevingne-girlfriend-minke-second-anniversary-8659081 --- just once, gf’s
Also I think it’s worth noting that Cara has been a very known celeb and Minke is an artist too. So this is a celebrity couple and they’ve been together for 2 years, yet People covered them only for three times.
2. Usain Bolt & Kasi Bennett
https://people.com/who-is-kasi-bennett-usain-bolt-8385871 --- 3 to Usain’s insta, 4 to Kasi’s x, 3 to Kasi’s insta
https://people.com/parents/usain-bolt-girlfriend-welcomes-first-child-baby-girl/ -- just once, gf’s
This couple seems like they have been together for many years and gf is a known person too, but I could only find these two People articles about the gf.
3. Liam Hemsworth & Gabriella Brooks
https://people.com/who-is-gabriella-brooks-liam-hemsworth-8664644 --- 0

https://people.com/liam-hemsworth-gabriella-brooks-date-night-furiosa-a-mad-max-saga-premiere-photos-8650729 --- 0
PS: There are tons of articles on this couple, because, you know, it’s Liam and I think gf is famous too. I just chose these random 3.
4. RJ Davis & Deja Kelly
https://people.com/who-is-deja-kelly-rj-davis-8620790 --- 2 times gf’s insta & 2 tiktoks
I’ve never heard of this couple but apparently they are both basketball players.
5. Luke Newton & Antonia Roumelioti

L and A have been together around a year, and it’s known to the wider public audience for about 3 months now. Yet we have 3 People articles about them.
I also checked the traffic these articles get.
Usains’s Who is.. Article gets around 1700 organic clicks from the USA, and 700 clicks from the UK
Luke’s Who is.. Article gets around 220 clicks from the USA and around 15 from the UK
Liam’s Who is.. Article gets around 60k organic clicks from the USA and 100 from the UK.
These are all monthly estimations.
My first reaction when I saw the latest article about A was to think it’s only natural L and her gets covered on media since his popularity has grown massively this year but looking at these insights, I realized that yes he is a lot more popular compared to before but still doesn’t get that much attraction from the general audience, outside of our small fandom. So I don’t know if those magazine/gossip platforms’ goal is to get clicks when they are putting the effort to get these articles done. Also I don’t know much about the entertainment industry and how it works so I honestly have no idea if there could be a deal in place like some people claim.
I should also note that I used a free SEO tool to check these analytics so I cannot 100% be sure that these reflect the correct data but I believe it may give us an overall idea. Please note that these kind of insight tools usually cannot promise real data, they only provide estimations. (here is the tool if you wanna check: https://app.neilpatel.com/en/traffic_analyzer/overview)
These are all just my take :)))
Wow very interesting!
Thank you for doing the leg work and sharing 💜🥃

Curious why you say even if Alex had scored points it would have been wrong to give him Logan's car? It would have made a big difference to where Williams was at the start of the season.
I don't know if there's a way to what-if this one, since he firstly didn't score points and secondly wasn't all that likely to so it's not something where you can look back on the race and say ah yeah but if not for this or that it was the right call.
I think the points don't matter. unless something absolutely bonkers had happened you're talking one or two points - something that wouldn't make a difference, Williams has an advantage of 17 points over Sauber and a gap of 29 to VCARB so Alex could literally have smashed out a win and they'd still be 9th by now.
yes it would've got them off 0 six races earlier in the season but that back of field fight was generally so hopeless at the start of the season there was like 4 teams hoping Yuki or Hulkenberg somehow managed to get into the points. in the first ten or so races the strength of the top five teams was enough there wasn't really a midfield at all, just points scorers and non-points scorers and Williams were at the back of the second half of that.
in the previous year Alex had pulled a miracle to score points in Australia and I am absolutely certain that was what informed the decision. because Alex is actually pretty mid around Melbourne, if you look across the times he's raced there and he had, err, obviously had a massive crash which wasn't looking particularly auspicious for the weekend.
and yeah, ok, if he'd scored a point then there would have been some pieces praising the hard choices made. but they would've been wrong, too since you can't strategise an F1 season over the course of a single weekend.
points in Melbourne, at the cost of your second driver for the rest of the season, would really have had to be something. I honestly don't know how Logan carried on, after getting told "we literally do not trust you to deliver for this team." it's not worth destroying one of your drivers for the possibility the other can deliver.
confidence is so important in motorsport. teams put supreme amounts of effort into making sure drivers have it, via sim experience and testing, it's why if you compare Oscar and Logan, Oscar was much better prepared for Formula 1 on debut. both of them only had one season in F2 but Oscar's subsequent year of test driving Alpines meant even with a team switch he was much better trained to take on F1 than Logan's last-minute signing.
it's why they carried on with Logan for as long as they did, since they didn't have another driver with any preparation. as it happens, Franco's done well but there was no guarantee of that and that's why they kept Logan until they balance of likelihood really looked in favour of anyone else.
so to dash that all away in the third race weekend of the year was just reckless. I understand that Alex not racing, as their best driver, would have been frustrating but it's both very unfair on him to say he's their only chance of scoring points because that's not giving him leadership or seniority, it's pure pressure and it's like, well, why even bother running two cars then?
the worst thing that can happen with a driver is when they start driving desperate. you're very likely to lose car parts and definitely strategy options, it's something teams have to be very careful about managing and there's only a handful of times its paid off to any extent. maybe Leclerc's 2020 season, where Ferrari could have been even further down the table otherwise - but that also quite hurt him as a driver in subsequent seasons in a way I think he's only really now coming back from.
even if Williams had scored points it would not be worth demoralising half of your points-scoring potential. the short term gain can't justify the long-term problem. and you can say oh well JV obviously hoped that Logan would just bounce back from it but well, Mr Vowles is himself a failed racing driver and so he knows fully well that isn't how it works.
strategically, it was the best option for one weekend. had that come at the other end of the season, with three races to go rather than on the third weekend, then I think it would have been much more easily justifiable. saying you're going to throw absolutely everything at getting any points-scoring opportunity and yes it might make the other side of the garage a bit sad but it is what it is at the end of the year is still a pretty horrible choice, sure, but more justifiable.

Although I may probably be going quite (a bit) too far for saying this - about the people who state this certain thing about Blossomfall, - but-
I honestly think that people who believe that Blossomfall is being immature for being jealous of Briarlight by stating “she’s an adult now, she doesn’t need her mother’s attention and support” just -
Feels like they have at least a bit of a mindset of those type of people who believe that once a teenager turns into a 18 year old, they must AUTOMATICALLY and/or IMMEDIATELY know how to physically, mentally and/or even financially know how to be fully independent and take care of themselves completely alone.
(possibly maybe even having a bit of a similar mindset to some of those parents who kick their child out of the house immediately when they turn 18 years old expecting them to be perfectly fine automatically living on their own (with 0 help?!))
And is someone who just recently turned 18, this belief about recently legal adults is honestly quite untrue.
And is especially true for Blossomfall’s case, considering the fact that she isn’t even moving away to live independently from her family - because she lives within a Clan, which has (at most) around a “small” group of 20-30 people - cats - within it. The place that Blossomfall lives with is the place that she’ll STAY and live within for the entirety of her life, as well living with the people she grew up with - including her mother, Millie.
So the fact that Millie is neglected to see her daughters within a small tightened community - heck, a small tightened group - that they’ll live within for the entirety - or at least, the majority - of their lives, making Millie neglect even MORE impacting and/or noticeable for Blossomfall to experience compared than the average person. Something that’s also hard to ignore when you live and work around and/or with your family members on an everyday basis.
And the fact that Briarlight became disabled when she, Bumblestripe and/or Blossomfall were RECENT adults, making the neglect a bit more impactful, considering the fact it started to occur when Blossomfall was only JUST legally came out of teenage-hood and occurred when she was still quite young, which is QUITE different compared to if the neglect occurred when she was like… around the age of a 25 - 30 year old person I suppose.
Also the fact that Blossomfall shows systems and/or signs of being a “glass child” - feeling and/or being completely or mostly ignored, while their sibling gets all of the affection and love - which is something that can happen in real life, especially with children those parents put more effort and/or love into seeing and/or taking care of their disabled children than their able-bodied children.
Plus - at the very least, from what I heard about her - Blossomfall KNOWS and/or is AWARE that her jealousy towards her sisters is “negative” and/or “irrational” to the point that she literally believed she had deserved to go to literal kitty cat H*LL for it. Over a situation - neglect - that her own mother decided to do, which is something that’s NOT Blossomfall and any of her sibling’s fault.
And while yes, Millie does, care about her Briarlight, her disabled daughter and knows that she may need special care for her disability - that does NOT excuse Millie for NOT giving Blossomfall and Bumblestripe love and affection when she’s able so, let alone within a small tightened community where her children live with and/or around her daily will feel more impacted by her neglect that’s quite noticeable to the people Blossomfall lives around.
And the fact that Millie treatment of Briarlight and her disability is NOT good and is even ableist (at times), which is a WHOLE other (and worser) can of worms itself.
*sighs* Look, I’m not trying to bring back the (past) mindset of the fandom EXTREMELY hating Millie for neglecting Blossomfall.
I’m trying to state that Blossomfall maybe quite a bit over-hated for reacting to Millie neglecting her and her brother within a tightened small group/community, even regardless of how irrational her jealousy towards her sister is. To the point that I wanted to inform people about it within this confession.
So…yeah. Thank you for reading my confession about Blossomfall, and I hope that you at least thought it was a quite interesting confession to read about.

A New Wakana FC Video After a Long Time! ~Sarushima Edition~
The other day I got on a bus and when it was finally time to get off at the next stop, I was suddenly confronted with a really big problem. You might wonder what problem it could have been. Well, of course it's the dilemma of who is pressing the STOP button first (I realise, it's a non-issue for most people).
I often wonder if anyone will press the button so I will raise my arm, preparing myself to press it. But in that very moment someone else on the bus will beat me to it and press the button first so I've put in effort for nothing. But then at other times, when I decide to do nothing and wait for someone else to step in, for some reason, no one will move a finger to press the button. To avoid these troublesome moments, I will usually take charge of the situation and press the button at the first possible opportunity (even if it is for a stop where a lot of people will get off anyway).
However, on this day, about 0.5 seconds before my finger was touching the button, a little girl sitting in the seat in front of me also reached for the button close to her! ! Oh my God!! 😭😭Before I knew it, I had already pressed the button on reflex 😭*sobs* A grown-ass adult, driven by a misguided sense of responsibility, had pushed the button with so much enthusiasm and taken away a little girl's chance to do it. So stupid!
I saw how the poor girl reached out and just before her little finger touched the button, it lit up and the telltale "ping" rang through the bus, letting everyone know that the button had already been pressed. She turned to the woman beside her, presumably her mother, and just stared at her in shock and sadness. The woman looked at the girl with an appeasing smile and nodded (she honestly looked like the Virgin Mary trying to comfort her child.)
As for me, I was beyond myself. I was shocked too and completely froze up so I couldn't even say anything. I simply turned away with an apologetic expression on my face. I am so sorry, little girl! Please forgive me! To make things worse, I felt like the woman beside me had witnessed the whole thing so I tried to avoid looking at her as best as possible until I got off *laughs*
Hello, this is Wakana (0 ̄▽ ̄0)/
I vowed to myself that from now on, I would always check to see if there were any children around.
Well, today, a new Wakana fan club video has been uploaded for the first time in a long while😊This is a video about my trip to Sarushima that I mentioned in earlier log posts and which was also featured in my fan club newsletter! I was alone so it was tricky to film myself but I made a short video that shows the beautiful scenery of the island. You can also hear the birds chirping😍The part where I climb the "Heartbreak Stairs" (it's what I decided to casually name them) is 2 minutes long and uncut😄It may be a little hard to watch💦I hope you enjoy it nonetheless✨ »»—— CLICK ME 🎁 CLICK ME ——««
I also have a video of the "island announcement" that I talked about in the podcast, so I'm uploading it here as a bonus😂(※please note that the volume may be high)
All right, that's all for today! Until next time~☆( '▽')/

Talk Garden Vol.#13‼️~Festivals, Mysteries and Corrections~
The other day, on the way back from having dinner with two of my friends, there was a festival nearby so we decided to take a look😊There were a lot of people on the narrow approach to the shrine, and they sold a lot of delicious things such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, baby castella, and candy apples! Even though we had just eaten, we decided to buy some baby castella and walked through the crowd while eating it together😂We simply couldn't resist that sweet smell😋Then, one of my friends said that she was good at yo-yo fishing, so we decided to give it a try\(^o^)/You know, this time, unlike last time, I was able to catch one really easily🤣Mine was more like a vinyl air balloon rather than a proper yo-yo balloon so I didn't have to worry too much. I was still traumatised from my previous series of complete failures (please refer to my Instagram for details) so I went with this relatively safe and easy option.😂It doesn't even have water in it, so it's easy to get it out *laughs* My friend managed to get the water balloon yo-yo! Bravo!!
Hello, this is Wakana (0 ̄▽ ̄0)/
After enjoying a delicious dinner, we bought baby castella, six skewers of yakitori, six pieces of fried chicken, and yakisoba. The three of us ate it all *laughs* The festival effect is amazing 😂
Well, today, Vol.13 of my podcast "Wakana's Talk Garden" has been uploaded!! ︎\\\٩( 'ω' )و ////I read about everyone's "strange and mysterious stories" 😊I realized that there are many different patterns in strange stories 😯There really are a lot of things that I find strange in my daily life. I thought about it a lot after I had recorded the episode.
For example, whenever I have a photo-shoot with my regular photographer, for some reason, the sky always clears up and it stops raining. Or when I think I've run out of an item so I buy more to stock up only to realise that I have a lot left *laughs* There are also lots of incidents when you can't help but think, "only at times like this…" These situations are really strange but they do happen😂I think the best example for something like this is when you suddenly meet someone that you haven't seen in ages😂And it's almost always in moments when you're just spacing out without thinking about anything, or when you're in a really hurry😂 Such weird timing! Why in that moment!? It's weird. Also, for some reason, various things just happen at the same time so that makes you wonder why now!? There are many strange things that happen every day so I want to live my life having fun while also appreciating all the strange occurrences 😊✨Thank you so much for all your submissions! !
Well, the next talk topic will be "Everyone's Rules of Healthy Living" ♪ Anything you make sure to eat every day? Are you doing anything to take care of your intestines? Maybe you try to walk the distance of one station every now and then? Please share all of your rules that help you lead a healthy life! \(^o^)/The deadline is the end of this month on September 30th! I'll be waiting for your messages♪
Last but not least, I need to correct something I said in the latest podcast episode! It's about my “Join Wakana! Houseboat Full-Course Tour” on September 22nd and 23rd. In the episode, I mentioned that the seating on the boat would be "chair-style". However, turns out that info was old, the boat we will board is a bit more traditionally Japanese so the seating will be "sunken kotatsu-style"!! 🥺🥺Maybe the boat is also a little bigger than it was originally, so that might be why they changed the seating style 🥺 I'm sorry for the misleading statement! 😭 So please note, there won't be any chairs, the seating provided will be sunken "kotatsu-style"!! ・:*+.(( °ω° ))/.:+ I hope you will sit comfortably! ! !
Anyway, that's all for today! Until next time~☆( '▽')/

To Sever A Loveless Bond
••RadioDust Soulmate AU••
Part 22/?
First chapter | Previous chapter | Next chapter
•••
Since the last chapter of anything I put out, I had surprise emergency hand surgery. So… that’s where I’ve been. Typing on your phone with a splint is almost impossible, 0/10 don’t recommend
CWs: Maiming, dismemberment, physical altercations, Alastor insisting on being just so Alastor, motherfucking angst
•••
“Angel!! Don’t!!!”
But, of course, Angel didn’t listen. Alastor would have been surprised if he had, honestly; he had never seen the spider so curt and cold, rage bubbling somewhere deep within him and clearly erupting like a volcano the moment Valentino presented himself as a viable target. Angel Dust seemed different, somehow, and Alastor couldn’t determine whether such a change was new, or whether it had been bubbling under the surface this whole time; whether it was temporary, or whether this last venture into VoxTek had done something to him.
Something for which I am more than partly responsible.
No, Alastor knew that was ridiculous. Angel was stronger than Valentino, than Vox… his heart might have even been stronger than Alastor’s himself, an allowance he never thought he would grant another. Angel wasn’t broken by VoxTek, and he wouldn’t be broken by Alastor.
Angel…
Alastor was still weak from the electricity that had been coursing through his muscles on and off for hours, and the sheer force of will required simply to get up off the table was so monumental that he thought he might collapse the instant his hooves touched the cold tile floor. His knees gave out and he only just managed to catch himself on the edge of the slab, his teeth creaking under the force of his clenched jaw as he forced himself to breathe.
I will not let this defeat me.
“You little bitch!!” It seemed that Valentino had regained his senses, and Angel hit the ground with a sharp sound of pain as the overlord threw him off and grabbed at his own bleeding face. “After everything I’ve done for you, this is how you repay me?!”
“You ain’t done shit for me and you know it!” Angel screamed back, his voice echoing in the cavernous, empty room. The spider was on his feet, his body language turning defensive. “I’m takin’ Alastor and we’re both leavin’, Val, and you can’t stop us!”
Valentino’s laugh may as well have been a shriek of rage as he stood up to his full (and absolutely not impressive) height, venom-stained teeth bared in a grin that was barely holding back a snarl. But when he spoke, Alastor didn’t hear it; his attention snapped to the space behind him as a voice spoke.
“That’s certainly unexpected.”
Alastor spun so quickly he nearly fell again, catching himself with the heels of his hands against the metal table. Vox laughed an unkind laugh at his clumsiness, and Alastor felt his ears flatten back against his head. “You always did underestimate everyone around you, Vox.”
The other overlord scoffed, but Alastor could see the stress Vox was only just masking with a sharp smile and narrowed eyes. “Oh, I hardly think you’re the proper advocate for treating opponents with respect.”
Alastor let out a breath like the snort of an angry deer. “I told you that you couldn’t keep me here,” he said, rather than acknowledge the obvious jab.
“But you are still here,” Vox reminded him, even if he might have sounded less certain than before. “And it will take a lot more effort for you to get out of the building than it will for me to get you back in shackles.” Before Alastor could retort, Vox’s smile sharpened in a way he didn’t like. “That is, if you plan on taking Angel Dust. You’re weak, but I see the shadows. You’re connecting to them again, aren’t you? So. Why are you still here, Alastor?”
Alastor’s lip twitched. “What in the world are you babbling about, old pal? I came here with a purpose and I would hardly call it fulfilled.”
“Cut the shit,” Vox said, astonishingly direct suddenly. “Maybe your new little buddies out at the Hand-Holding Hotel don’t know you, but I do. You’re a coward. You have never once entered into a fight if you weren’t positive you could destroy your opponent with minimal effort, and the instant things seem even a touch in question, you’re gone. You don’t fight, Alastor. We both know that. And if you could handily take Val on a good day, he would have been gone decades ago; you’re barely even on your feet.”
Alastor ground his teeth together as he listened, wishing dearly to shut Vox up but armed with no words that would make him sound petulant or, worse, prove Vox’s point. Alastor’s conflict with Adam had been proof enough; yes, perhaps it had been a touch arrogant for him to assume Adam would be quite as weak as Alastor predicted, but he didn’t think the angel would be so…
And yet, Sir Pentious fought head on, knowing he would die. I suppose I am a coward, aren’t I?
“So run,” Vox said dismissively, continuing his words with no knowledge of the root of Alastor’s own conflict. “Run away like you always do, and tell yourself you’re no coward when you’re back and safe in your little den.”
Alastor shoved himself off the table. “Don’t patronize me, Vox,” he snarled.
Vox raised an eyebrow, laughing incredulously. “Or what?”
Alastor hated it. He hated that Vox was right. He couldn’t remember the last time he had engaged in anything that could really be called a fight before the exorcism… except for as far back as his childhood, most likely. Even his murders couldn’t be called ‘fights’, as his victims hadn’t had even half of a chance by design. Most of all, he hated how much he wanted to prove Vox right and simply cut his losses.
But I can’t.
Angel is here.
Alastor didn’t have much in the way of useful energy at his disposal, the bulk of what he did have dedicated to keeping him conscious and alert. He had enough in him to get himself out of VoxTek, but he wasn’t positive he could transport Angel as well without losing him in that dark abyss of nothingness. On the other hand…
The smug look disappeared from Vox’s face in a flash as Alastor flung his arm out at the other overlord, staff manifesting in his hand with a painful crackle of bright green energy that sparked all the way up to his neck. Vox barely had time to raise his arms to defend himself before black tendrils of shadow crashed against him, tossing him backwards onto the floor like a discarded rag doll. Alastor didn’t give him time to gloat, instead directing the shadows to seize Vox by the throat and haul him up into the air.
Alastor intended to fling the man screen first into the ceiling, but Vox had regained his wits and broke himself free with a sharp jerk and a burst of bright blue electricity. He landed on the floor, somehow managing to stay on his feet, and looked down at his arms where Alastor’s shadows had burrowed through the fabric of his jacket and shirt to drill into that odd and half-technological flesh of his.
Blood dripped from tattered fabric as Vox stared. “…I really liked this suit,” he said.
“You need new threads anyway.” Alastor’s words were strained but smiling as he spun his staff. “You may need to have it tailored for a new body shape once I’m through with you, of course.”
Vox snarled, rings appearing in his left eye. “I’m gonna fucking kill you.”
It was all the warning he gave before he threw himself at Alastor, but thankfully, that was all Alastor needed. He responded in kind, the two of them colliding in a burst of demonic energy powerful enough to short out the bank of computers and start the lights flickering overhead. It wasn’t anything like their last fight, the one that had permanently ended the farce that Alastor had almost believed was friendship; that had been a public display of power on both their parts, as much a demonstration of their strength to the whole of Pentagram City as it was an attempt to kill each other. This was much less elegant and far more personal, claws tearing and teeth ripping, tentacles of oozing shadow tangling and warring with thick and sparking electrical cables as the two drew each other’s blood time and again.
“You bastard!!” Vox screamed as four of his cables wound around the malfunctioning bank of computers like the tentacles of the Kraken seizing around a sailing vessel, hauling it off the ground with the whine of rent metal and snap of breaking electrical cables. They launched the desks and monitors at Alastor, who shielded himself with his waning shadows and managed to divert most of the debris to either side.
Exhaustion ate at Alastor’s muscles, every twitch of his shadows draining energy that he simply didn’t have. But Vox was bleeding and seemed almost as exhausted as Alastor was himself; if he had to guess, he would say his old pal had really pushed it when he channeled all of VoxTek’s electricity and wasn’t anywhere near recovered yet. If he played his cards right, he could—
Somewhere on the other side of the room, Angel screamed. All planning fled Alastor’s mind as he turned, immediately searching for even a glimpse of the spider. “Angel!!”
His distraction was brief, but it was apparently enough. Something heavy and hard struck Alastor in the back of the head, and he collapsed, hitting the floor with a force that would have broken concrete. A broken monitor hit the ground, bounced, and skidded away, Alastor registering that it must have been what hit him. He moved to scramble to his feet again, but a cable seized him around his left arm and hauled it backwards and up with enough force to dislocate his shoulder. Alastor hissed, his attempt to turn with the pull thwarted by Vox’s hand seizing his hair and twisting.
“Fuck…!” Alastor hissed, screwing his eyes shut against the unique pain in his head and the sharper, more pulsating hurt in his arm. “Let go of me, Vox!”
Vox didn’t seem to be listening to him. “I can’t fucking believe you,” Vox said, his voice rising steadily until he was yelling. “All of these years, all of your posturing, and even after that you actually allow that fucking mark to rule you! You’re fucking pathetic!!” Vox’s voice trailed into a strained, unhinged laugh. “But I can fix your little problem for you!”
Alastor’s eyes snapped open again. “Let go of me!!” he yelled again, an edge of panic piercing his words without his consent. Vox ignored him, tightening his grip in Alastor’s hair and bracing his foot on the middle of the Radio Demon’s back.
That was when Alastor felt the cable beginning to twist and tighten.
The pain was unimaginable, something he never would have been able to describe even with every word in every language at his disposal. The cable pierced into the middle of his left bicep and sliced his flesh, the coils turning his arm further and further until he felt something deep in a place that was absolutely not a joint… pop. Instantly, it was like the pain vanished, leaving Alastor with absolute clarity to feel what was happening, even if he couldn’t see it.
The muscles in his arm began to separate from bone and ligament as the sharp ends of the cables dug deeper and deeper until they hit bone. That bone cracked once, then again, before it shattered into two pieces. Slowly, his muscles and skin began to rip apart, pulling and pulling until a final snap tore more than half of his arm from his body.
Alastor might have screamed. He didn’t know. He couldn’t form a single thought except the fact that Vox had just torn his soulmate mark from him.
•
Valentino had been pulling his punches for the years that Angel had known him, which wasn’t a comforting thing to learn. Maybe it was just because he knew Angel couldn’t fight back and hadn’t needed to actually exert himself, but now that he could no longer command Angel…
Valentino’s clawed hand struck Angel in the face and Angel cried out in pain, stumbling away and grabbing at his ripped cheek. He could hardly catch his breath, but he managed to keep his feet, and Valentino wasn’t doing great either. Blood trailed down the overlord’s neck, and Angel was very proud to confirm that he’d broken the bastard’s glasses, which lay shattered on the floor several feet away.
Angel needed to figure out how to leave, and he needed to do it fast. He was pretty sure he couldn’t take Valentino in a fight, and he still had Alastor to look after and Vox to worry about. Angel hadn’t been able to pay attention to the other fight, all of his attention forced to stay in Valentino to keep from being seized or worse.
Alastor’s scream changed that. Angel snapped around just in time to see Vox’s cables tear something from Alastor, sending a wide arc of blood sailing through the air. It wasn’t until Vox tossed the thing aside and it hit the floor, rolling away, that Angel realized—
That’s Alastor’s arm.
The fight didn’t matter. Valentino didn’t matter. Neither did Vox. The only thing Angel could make himself care about now was Alastor and getting him out of the building, and that was exactly what he was going to do.
Valentino looked as distracted by the sudden carnage as Angel had been, but Angel recovered first, picking up one of the monitors that Vox had been using as projectiles in three hands and slamming it into Valentino’s head as hard as he could. The moth dropped like a brick, and Angel left him there, tossing the monitor onto him and scrambling to run across the room.
Vox’s face looked some strange combination of delighted, furious, and horrified, and Angel didn’t want to consider the implications of that. He didn’t look up until Angel was almost on him, and even then, all he had time to do was say “What th—” before Angel grabbed his screen with his two lowest hands and raised one leg, slamming his foot into the center of his face with a force that cracked the glass and turned the image from Vox’s stunned face to colors and lines and indistinct images. Angel released him and didn’t spare another thought for him, instead dropping next to Alastor.
The Radio Demon howled, holding onto what was left of his arm and curling into himself against something that seemed far more painful than the physical hurt itself. “We’re leaving,” Angel said firmly, not waiting for an answer before he lifted Alastor in two of his arms and held the overlord against his chest. Angel stumbled to his feet, pushing past his own blinding pain to begin running for the door.
“ANGEL DUST!!” Valentino shrieked behind him, but Angel didn’t look, shouldering the door open and bursting into the hallway without slowing down. He could hear Valentino coming after them, and in a panic, Angel stopped to contemplate his options. The stairs would take too long, and Valentino could fly, so he could beat them down through the middle of the stairwell without any issue. They were decently high up, but…
Angel didn’t hesitate any further. Keeping Alastor held close to him, he grabbed one of the chairs in the hallway with two more hands and flung it as hard as he could into the window. The glass broke with a resounding crash, shards bursting outward and beginning to fall like rain… and Angel followed them.
The moment he launched himself out the window with Alastor held to his chest, Angel had a moment to think what a stupid idea jumping out the window was. For a moment, he could look across all of the Pride Ring, the night sky bright enough from the light of the moon that Angel could see all the way to the horizon. Then, he began to fall, the sensation strangely gentle and slow for something that would end in such a hard and fast impact. Angel curled himself around Alastor, turning so he would take the brunt of the landing, and buried his face in the Radio Demon’s hair. As wind rushed past them, Angel thought he heard Alastor speak.
“I’m sorry.”
Angel opened his eyes, but before he could ask, he hit the ground…
…and, somehow, didn’t instantly break his back.
It wasn’t a gentle landing by any means, but Angel had fully anticipated snapping his spine in half at absolute minimum, but the initial feeling spoke of nothing but contusions and maybe a cracked rib or two. It was then that he realized he had landed on something, something that vanished before Angel could discern what the fuck it was and deposited both him and Alastor onto the street with a painful thud.
“What the fuck?” Angel whispered, trying to push himself into a sitting position and failing. What had he landed on? Where the fuck had it come from?
Somewhere above him, Valentino screamed again, and Angel looked up to see the overlord descending with spread wings and fury in his glowing eyes. But when he landed, he wasn’t looking at Angel. He was looking at someone behind him. “This does not involve you,” he snarled, voice strained with rage and pain.
“Actually, it does.”
Angel’s eyes widened and he turned his head to look back and up. Charlie wasn’t looking down at either him or Alastor, the entirety of her focus on Valentino. Her expression was deadly serious, demonic horns fully extended and her hair gently fluttering in the beginnings of that odd and supernatural wind of fire she had a tendency to conjure around her when she got worked up. Her hand was wrapped around her pitchfork, the end of the weapon digging into the street as though it was made of styrofoam… or flesh.
Charlie’s expression didn’t change, and she still wasn’t looking at Angel. “Angel Dust is no longer your concern,” she said, as though she knew exactly what had happened, somehow. “And neither, I believe, is Alastor. Both of them are off of VoxTek’s territory, placing them outside of your boss’s sphere of control, which means that if you try and touch either of them, I have freedom to kill you. And I will,” she said calmly. “If you want to live, go inside. If you want to see what the Great Abyss is like for yourself, step closer or come to the Hotel, and I will gladly show you.”
Valentino hesitated. “…you’re full of shit,” he said, but he looked distinctly more terrified than he had the last time he and Charlie had spoken, probably because he no longer had Angel to use as a shield.
“Am I?” Charlie’s eyes narrowed, a swirl of fire curling around her as that odd wind picked up and her eyes began to change. “Then come closer, Valentino. You’ve been making such smart decisions lately.”
Valentino took an abortive step back, clearly groping for an argument or a comeback or anything that wasn’t just staring at her. “…bitch,” he finally spat, turning on his heel and storming into the building like he wasn’t running from a fight with a woman he had so often called a spoiled little princess.
Charlie didn’t move until he was gone, but the moment he was, her entire demeanor changed. “Holy shit holy shit holy shit,” she said, dropping down beside Angel and wrapping a bracing arm around his shoulders. “Are you two okay?!”
“I’m great,” Angel managed. “Better than Alastor, anyway.”
“Better than— oh, fuck,” Charlie whispered. “…come on. Let’s get back to the hotel. I… doubt he wants to be seen like this.”
“Yeah,” Angel said. Alastor said nothing, and Angel sincerely hoped he had lost consciousness and was getting some sleep. He let Charlie help him up, then took her offer of support, arm draped around her shoulders. Charlie braced him with a hand on his wrist and an arm around his waist, and they began walking in silence that carried them for a while.
“…sorry I didn’t bring transportation. I left in a hurry.”
“S’fine, Charlie. Don’t sweat it.”
“Okay. But you should know that Valentino won’t be a problem anymore. At least, not the same kind of problem.”
“No?”
“No. I’ll tell you all about it after you’ve gotten some rest.”
“Not gonna budge on that, are you?”
“Nope.”
“Fine. …hey, Charlie.”
“Yeah?”
“…thanks.”
“Of course, Angel.”
•••
The evening passed in an odd sort of blur. Alastor was taken from him as soon as they entered the hotel, and Angel’s protests were ignored as Husk and Cherri (what was she doing there?) forced him upstairs to his bedroom. There was a third person, too, or at least… Angel was pretty sure there was, but he had no idea who as he was made to bathe and sit through bandaging and dressed in comfortable clothes and put in bed with an excited and concerned little hell pig.
Later, his mind tried to tell him that it had been Arackniss, but that was impossible. Why would his brother, of all people, be at the hotel?
Angel slept through until the next afternoon, and when he woke up, he was sore and hurting and absolutely starving. He didn’t bother changing clothes or even touching up his hair, just lifting Fat Nuggets and carrying him back downstairs to try and find out what was happening.
His reappearance inspired… odd reactions. Angel was used to people expressing exasperation or irritation or even worry when he would disappear for a few days and then come back, but he hadn’t expected relief. Angel didn’t know how to respond to it, and of all people, Vaggie was the one to break the tension and herd him into the kitchen. He was instantly shoved into a chair as Husk made food and Charlie sat with him and Vaggie to start telling him what he had missed.
It was… a lot. His kidnappers turning out to be IMP, who apparently immediately crashed the hotel to try and fix the problem, was unexpected, but it was only the start. Someone (they didn’t say who and Angel was too tired to ask) breaking into VoxTek and stealing his contract, Alastor’s disappearance, Vaggie and the imp named Blitzø taking the contract to a Goetian prince to try to find out how to break it, Charlie and the imp named Moxxie actually breaking it with Niffty’s help…
It really was a lot. It was too much. That was a lot of people he needed to thank, and showing gratitude was one of his absolute worst skills.
Angel didn’t know how to respond, and thankfully, he wasn’t expected to. He was fed, and then he was made to go back to his room and rest, and Charlie gave him firm instructions that he was to stay in bed and just deal with people bringing him food until Husk said otherwise.
It was a shitty deal, frankly, but nowhere near as bad as his last.
Angel ended up not really minding that much anyway. The absolute relief of being freed from his contract hit him when he was alone again, and he held onto Fat Nuggets and cried until he fell asleep. The next week passed in much the same way, Angel sleeping through most of it and only waking up to eat or to have his bandaging changed. By the time he was cleared to resume life again, Angel was suffering from cabin fever and pretty sure he would have happily done housework if it meant not sitting around in his room.
Angel cleaned himself up and pulled in clothes that weren’t intended for sleeping for the first time in days, heading down to the lobby and looking around until his eyes landed on the bar.
“Morning, kid,” Husk greeted without looking up from the game of solitaire he was playing. “Upright, I see.”
“For once,” Angel said, sliding onto a bar stool and folding his arms on the wood.
Husk smirked. “Want a drink?”
“Usually.”
“Got you covered.” Husk set down his cards and began mixing up a drink. “How are you feeling?”
Angel knew he wasn’t talking about the injuries. “Weird,” Angel admitted. “I’ve had a soul contract for so long I’d forgotten I was feeling it. Didn’t even notice it had broken at first. But now… now I can’t stop noticing it.”
“Yeah. Probably gonna fuck you up for a bit.” Husk set a reddish-gold drink in front of him. “You’ll get used to it again. If I were you, I’d be thinking more about finding a new job.”
“Oh yeah,” Angel murmured, leaning his elbow on the bar and his jaw against his fist. He took the cherry in the drink by the stem and used it to idly stir the alcohol. “Maybe this’d be a good time to start up my independent cam career. I got a lot of followers, so I know I’d be off to a good start. Charlie’s got enough rooms in this place, she might let me turn the one next to me into a studio.”
“So long as you soundproof it,” Husk said. “You’ve got no volume control, man.”
Angel couldn’t help giggling. “Hey, bein’ vocal gets me good tips.”
“I dunno, some guys would like you more gagged.”
“Fuck you,” Angel snickered. Husk smirked at him and went back to his game, letting Angel sip his drink in silence. It was always so weird when Husk wasn’t pushing, instead letting Angel decide when he wanted to talk. “…hey, Husk.”
“Yeah.”
“You seen Alastor around lately?”
Husk’s hand stilled on the cards, and he took a moment to answer. “…not much,” he said. “He looks like he’s doing fine physically, but I think the injuries to his pride are going to take longer to heal. He only comes out of his room when Charlie needs him for official hotel business. Otherwise, he’s been relegated to resting, just like you. Don’t think he’s even been on the air.”
Angel nodded slowly. “…yeah. Figured.” He traced his fingertip around the lip of his glass, trying not to worry. Of course, he hadn’t seen either Alastor or his shadow since that day, so not worrying was a big ask. “Vox ripped his arm off.”
Husk froze, but didn’t look up. “…is that what happened?”
“Mhm.”
“…huh.” Husk gathered up the cards and began shuffling. “We were all wondering. …it’s still gone.”
Angel wrapped his hands around the glass, staring into the liquid and trying not to freak out. “It’s not permanent, is it?” he asked. “Sinners… Sinners regrow stuff all the time.”
“Yeah, that’s true. But we don’t grow everything back, and sometimes scars and mutilations stay. You know that,” Husk said. His voice was guarded, but Angel thought he sounded sympathetic. Whether it was for Angel’s feelings or Alastor’s situation, he didn’t know. “He’s been… compensating. Nobody’s mentioned it. There’s an air about it that seems dangerous.”
Angel finished his drink, then folded his arms on the bar and rested his head. “…do you think he’d let me in?”
“Kid… I’m pretty sure you’re the only one he would let in.”
Angel nodded without looking up. “I don’t know what to say to him.”
“Can’t help you there.”
“Yeah. I know.” He pushed himself up again. “…thanks, Husk.”
“Don’t do anything that gets you bedridden again.”
“Blow me.” Angel flipped him off as he turned and headed for the hallway, aware that Husk returned the gesture wordlessly.
Even as Angel’s feet carried him closer and closer to his destination, he had no idea what he was doing or why he was doing it. He had promised Alastor that they would talk, but now that time had passed and the panic had drained from him, the task seemed almost impossibly daunting. With every step, he wanted to just turn around and run back to his room, a feeling that only got stronger as he stopped in front of Alastor’s door.
Don’t be a dummy, you dummy. Just talk to him.
Angel raised his hand, hesitated, then knocked. He waited for a few seconds, but he didn’t hear any response, so he tried again. When he was still answered with silence, he called, “Alastor? It… it’s me. Can I come in…?”
The answering nothingness lasted long enough that Angel turned and began walking away. He took less than five steps before he heard the lock click, and Angel turned his head to watch the door creak open a scant half inch. When it didn’t open further, and it didn’t close, Angel went back and cautiously pushed the door open to let himself in.
Alastor’s room looked the same as it always did. Angel was momentarily lost in an odd sense of nostalgia, almost laughing at how absurd the idea of finding the smell of a marsh comforting was, as he scanned the room and shut the door behind him. Alastor himself was easy to find, the overlord seated in his usual chair with his legs crossed and his elbow braced on the chair’s arm, eyes on the green light of the fireplace and expression oddly distant.
The silence was heavy, and Angel stood there for almost a full minute before he crossed the room and slowly lowered himself into the other chair. “…Alastor?” he asked, his voice soft enough that it wouldn’t have carried if the room hadn’t been completely silent,
Alastor’s eyelashes fluttered briefly, a sign he was listening. “Hey, sha,” he said quietly, not diverting his gaze; the radio filter over his voice was barely there, though he seemed to be making a conscious effort not to slip into his Louisiana accent. Angel took the opportunity to look him over; his face was a weaker shade of greyish than usual, his ears lowered and his smile so weak that it was undeniable the thing was held in place supernaturally. His clothes were all in order, but Angel couldn’t not notice how empty the left sleeve was, a modification already in place to allow him to fold and button it to keep it from—
Fuck, I can’t keep thinkin’ about this shit.
“I hear you ain’t been leavin’ your room much,” Angel said.
Alastor’s laugh was weak, but seemed genuine. “I was threatened into bed rest, same as you. And, as I promised to remain in my quarters, I thought it polite to actually adhere to my word this time.”
Angel smiled, but it was gone in seconds. “…didja still wanna… I dunno. Talk?”
Alastor didn’t answer immediately. In fact, when he finally spoke, it wasn’t an answer at all. “How are you feeling?”
“Uh…” Angel looked down at himself, raising one hand and looking at the palm and the back in turn. “I’ve felt worse, I guess. Still tired. Ain’t bleedin’ all over shit anymore, tho, so that’s a plus.”
“Good. I’m glad to hear it.”
Angel waited. “…so…” Alastor’s ear twitched, so Angel continued, “…you still wanna?”
“This sort of talking isn’t precisely my forte, Angel, and I’m not exactly under the influence of extreme electrocution anymore.”
“Whaddya wanna be under the influence of?” Angel asked, wincing the moment it was out of his mouth. “Joke. Bad taste. Wrong time. Sorry.” Alastor just shook his head. “I know you don’t do no… unloadin’ of your emotions,” Angel said, waving his hands a little as he thought. “It ain’t really by thing, either. But I promised we would, so I’m keepin’ my promise, even if you changed your mind.”
Alastor finally looked at him, first just casting his eyes to the side, then raising his head and settling back properly into his chair. “Changed my mind about… talking?” he prompted.
“Yeah. Or whatever.”
“Or whatever,” Alastor repeated thoughtfully, tapping his claws against the arm of the chair. “I’m not certain what I should say.”
“Whatever you want. I ain’t exactly the judgmental type.”
This time, when they lapsed into silence, Angel recognized Alastor’s need to think and simply kept his mouth shut. A few times, Alastor’s gaze drifted back towards his fireplace, though it never fully landed the way it had when Angel first came in. “I wanted to apologize to you.”
That wasn’t what Angel was expecting. “…what?” he asked with a frown. “The fuck… why?”
“For leaving you at Rosie’s the way I did,” Alastor said, like it was perfectly obvious. “Had I stayed, you would not have—”
“Whoa whoa whoa,” Angel interrupted. “Hold on. You ain’t blamin’ yourself for me gettin’ nabbed, are you?”
“Aren’t you?”
“No,” Angel scoffed, the whole idea completely ridiculous. “If they hadn’t done it there, they woulda done it the next time I was out alone. It ain’t your fault, Alastor, you didn’t do shit.”
“I left,” Alastor reminded him.
Angel snorted, unable to keep himself from smiling. “Well, yeah, of course you did. Like you said, you don’t do emotions.”
“That wasn’t why I…” Alastor began, shaking his head, before he sighed like he was annoyed with himself. “I realized I had no desire to be there, so I left.”
Angel’s expression slowly evened out. “Yeah,” he said quietly. “I just don’t get why. Goin’ to Rosie was your idea in the first place.”
“I’m aware.” Alastor broke eye contact once again. “Would you believe me if I said I had no particular reason?”
“No. But I can’t stop you from sayin’ it.”
“Hm.” Alastor’s smile both softened and grew into something a little bit more real. “I didn’t want it broken.”
Of all the things Angel had expected Alastor to say, admitting something like that wasn’t one of them, whether he was telling the truth or not. “…why not?”
Alastor let his head fall back against the chair. “I don’t know,” he said, directing his exasperation at the blackness where his ceiling should have been. “It makes no sense. But it… is irrelevant now, I suppose.”
Angel tilted his head. “…how?”
“My mark was on the arm Vox tore off.”
Angel’s eyes widened. “Oh,” he said. Of course, that stood to reason, considering where it was placed, but… “So, uh, what…” Angel hesitated, then said, “…what does that do?”
“I suppose it rather effectively accomplished what we set out to do in the first place.”
The silence that followed was different. Angel felt a thousand responses to that, each one warring to get out of his mouth first and leaving him speechless. He wanted to tell Alastor that was bullshit. He wanted to ask if the other demon didn’t feel anything at all anymore. He wanted to laugh it off and say it was no big deal.
“Oh,” he repeated instead. Alastor made a noise that might have been a response. Angel stared at him. Alastor was still looking at his ceiling. “So… you—… I mean, does…” He trailed off, then made himself start again. “Are you sayin’… what, we’re done here?”
“I suppose we are.”
It felt like Angel’s stomach had physically bottomed out. The only thing preventing him from throwing up was the memory of puking some of Husk’s other concoctions and not wanting to subject Alastor’s nice floor to that. “I…” Angel didn’t know if he wanted to cry or if he wanted to hit Alastor square in the jaw as hard as he could. “…I meant what I said. I still wanna be your friend.”
Alastor’s smile changed, just a little. He didn’t answer.
“…okay. Well, just… keep it in mind, I guess.” Angel looked down, then at Alastor, then quickly glanced away and nodded to himself. It wasn’t often that Angel himself felt awkward, and he wasn’t good at dealing with it. Angel pushed himself to his feet, hesitated, and then turned and headed for the door. He placed his hand on the knob.
So we’re really just done?
“…I’m glad you’re okay, Smiles. See you around.”
Then why don’t I feel any different?
Angel didn’t look back. He just opened the door, stepped into the hallway, and pulled it shut behind him.

I just found this blog and I noticed that a lot of your stuff seems, well, oddly 3D. I don't mean like in a bad way but it feels like rendered but untextured 3D models? I kinda want to ask what your art process is (sorry for mini-rant)
thanks for checking out my blog! and no need to apologize for anything.
hmm, my art process. honestly i have no idea what to say, i dont know how people normally answer this question so i cant base it off anything either. i'm still kinda new to this whole art thing but i'll try and answer, super sorry if i get this completely wrong and this was all a waste of time.
i guess i'll just talk about how i draw things step by step? for the high effort pieces at least.
ok, so for starters like step 0. when it's a high effort piece, i can already see the image in my mind. i see the pose, i see the general lighting, the layout of stuff, but it's a bit blurry. if i cant see this mental image, the drawing usually comes out extremely poorly.
this is kind of an example of what i see in my head? this might be all useless info idk, but this is i guess where i start.
well step 1 is just the sketch and line. i start with just sketching the general shapes, then slowly refining it until it fits close enough to the image in my head. then in the line layer i'll fix any mistakes the sketch had and add more details to it. oh and for brush, it's just a round brush, like default. i dont know how much of a difference using a drawing tablet does, but i dont use one so... yeah.
i should've put more effort into the sketch for this drawing, but i did not.
next i do flat colors. pretty simple, i just select the smart select the outside of the line layer, invert the selection and now i can't paint outside the lines. i dont really think about what colors i use, i just use whatever the characters normal colors are.
next i do the shading, but first. i duplicate flat layer and recolor it to like a cream color
like so. for high effort pieces, i was told online to shade in pretty much black and white. now actually onto shading. there's 2 kinda shading i do, 1 from the proper light source, and 1 that's kinda just a shadow because things are close together (like corners and stuff). and i'll shade them on separate layers so i can adjust them individually however i want. oh right, i'll either use a very dark color, pretty much black and the the layer blending mode set to multiply. or i'll use a light kind of gray, tinted slightly yellow or something and set the layer blend mode to difference. then i just use a soft air brush and shade in the ways i described above. shading from regular light source, and the corner stuff thing.
normal lightsource - - - - - corner thing
then toggle both layers on and mess with the opacity of each layer until you get what you want.
then you can toggle the normal flats layer, the one that has color and it should apply the shading decently. you can mess with the opacity again on the shadows.
next i do lighting. i just grab a very light color, usually pretty close to white and set the layer blend mode to overlay. then i use a soft airbrush and "light" it? idk i just do like the opposite of the normal shadows, lighter the closer it is to the light source
mess around with the opacity as usual. then i do pretty much the same thing if there's another light source. in this case there was a blue light kinda coming from underneath, so i did that.
now from here i would go back to the flats layer, make a copy, and mess around with different layer styles and properties and settings. sometimes just messing around is useful. in this case, i felt it was too bright and colorful, so i decreased the brightness and saturation of it.
i think it helped a little bit but who knows.
now i do some kinda highlights and details. i grabbed the colors that were in the background and used those. it was a weird pale blue. i had 2 layers for this, 1 of them was specifically for his antenna things at the top, and one was just for his "skin". anyway, the antenna layer was normal, just kinda gave it an outline with the random reflective circles you see normally in pictures, no thoughts behind them. the skin tho had the layer blend mode set to soft light, i thought it looked best this way. it was just more random things to imply it was slightly reflective.
together the layers looked like this. i think it makes him look glossier which is what i was aiming for.
next, and it pretty much the end for pebbles, i got someone to look at it and let me know if they think anything was missing. they said it looked a little unsaturated. which it does. so i made a new layer, set the blend mode to saturation, grabbed the airbrush and made it pretty inline with the lighting layer.
that's kinda it. the background i didnt really care about, just drew and colored it. blurred it a bunch and added a bunch of shadows. i did add some like, "overshadows" is what i call it, i just draw some big shadows down the screen as the top layer.
but yeah thats literally everything i did to draw this. i would like to apologize if this was not at all what you wanted to know, i'm certain i've screwed this up bigtime. super sorry for wasting your time. if there's anything i can do to help, please ask. i owe you a proper answer to your question, i'm just really dumb. sorry for rambling. sorry. and sorry if the drawing i used for example didnt showcase what you wanted to know.
also, i really like your art! please keep up the great work!
#i think i did this all wrong#i'm so sorry#i feel incredibly stupid#:I#rambling :I#now everyone get's to see how little i know about drawing
