starting 2025 right with a new year’s babka (with blueberries and cream cheese embedded).

it almost kind of reminds me of baklava, as well as a play on black-eyed peas—as black-eyed peas on new year’s day = good luck for the upcoming year 🎊

Chai cinnamon rolls with espresso cream cheese icing from this recipe

They’re sliiiiiightly over baked because I got distracted by work lol but they’re super yummy!!! The dough is soft and tender and the frosting is sooooo good!!

I think the only thing I’d change is the internal spice level—I think it’s just slightly too much, and it needed to be incorporated differently I think. The recipe said to spread softened butter over the dough and then sprinkle on the spices/sugar mix, but I think it would work better to melt the butter into the spices and then spread it out—but we’ll see next time!
