people will say “there’s nothing wrong with the job market” then you’ll be unemployed for two months because you had to leave your last job because of abusive managers and the only job you can get will offer you around 24 hours a MONTH and will also cancel your shifts the night before you’re due to come in but not actually tell you so you get there in the morning and there’s actually no reason. then you message the work chat to say there’s an issue and management will read it and ignore you for 15 minutes then say “call IT”. so you go yeah okay fine i will then you call IT but it’s 8:20 and they dont have the phone line open until 8:30 so you have to sit and wait then they tell you “oh someone else did your shift already. yeah they moved it. yeah no you didnt need to come in”. but i should be very grateful for that <£300 monthly pay check shouldnt i? i was stressing out all night because i couldnt sleep and knew i had work in the morning so i just didnt sleep and i actually could be in bed rn. but im waiting on a bench in the cold bc the pet shop isnt open yet and my rats need treats

#blabbering#curse my long shifts#I just feel so desperate for socialization#feels like a bit of the same thing from before during my bad week#I guess I just yearn for my life to be less hollow than it just me going to work and coming home and that’s it#been trying so hard to initiate it too but I think I’m just cursed#it’s even effecting my ability to draw bc one reason why I’m so slow is bc it’s such a lonely activity#so I can only get bits and pieces done in small bursts and videos don’t cut it anymore for (the illusion of) company#but mostly I just feel a bit pathetic and lonely lmao#maybe I’m just depresso and it’s making me be like this lol. this is usually a traditional winter experience for me#I think I’m also just yearning for connections bc I’ve been deprived of them for so long lol#I just can’t seem to succeed at it for some reason.#I’m also frustrated bc I haven’t had much time to draw; and when I do that time is taken away for other things and it’s like; my main venue#for socializing with folks and just for myself bc I can’t do what I enjoy doing#and then when I do I can’t focus at all and then I feel lonely and the cycle continues

i got offered the promotion at work.... why am i every business owners wettest dream damn....
#yapping#yes my ocd is horrible for my mental health but boy is it good for my wallet !!!!#its not OFFICIAL yet#but it was offered to me and i accepted so theyre seeing how they want to proceed now#cause its not just about me theres a shit ton of changes they want to make that include switching like 5 peoples schedules around#but my team leader said that most of those changes being possible depended on whether i would accept this or not#so well see#id be a team leader myself now#the feminine urge to become a power hungry dictator control freak at work.......#id be switching from my current early morning shifts to late night shifts which is much less healthy on paper#but my body is made for sleeping late i physically can not go to bed before 3am even now when i wake up at 5:30#i might have the money to renovate my apartment now cause i think this comes with a 20% pay increase which is a lotttt#i basically will be earning two incomes myself now 😭#dani said he fully believes Ace Of Spades exists at this point cause everything always ends up going my way in the end#i know it may seem like im flexing but please be aware when i started this job a year and a half ago i was borderline homeless 😐#so its a huge deal for me 😭 and really quickly done as well which is why its so insane#like. in a year and a half only i went from borderline homeless and my parents keeping me on constant phonecalls#cause they were worried id off myself if i hung up#to being a homeowner that earns two incomes by herself while working from home#i feel like in most companies hard work doesnt rly pay off tbh i was just lucky to get into one of the few companies where they do value it#the literal CEO is my biggest dickrider 😭 but i do appreciate him giving me raises randomly cause he feels like i deserve it#but yeah !!!! apparently life altering anxiety that forces you to compulsively do perfect work at any job you ever do#because making mistakes and not giving it your 110% feels like a moral failure so you feel sick at the very thought of it#is apparently what makes the dream worker#if only they knew i dont actually care about this in any capacity.... i am just fucked in the head in a way that works im their favour 😭#this is why all of my ex bosses begged me to stay when i quit teehee#im yapping too much but yeah !! heall yeah money !!

I only go like 2 places so I thought I could find him easily#but nooo he had to pick today to escape right after a long shift when my sisters car was having trouble#so we went to 3 different car places and then walked a mile back home he could be anywhere 😭😭😭#if I'm lucky he's in the car we'll eventually get back if I'm really lucky hes at work I'm going to tomorrow#If I'm not lucky he's somewhere on the road. his texture is gonna be ruined if I ever find him 😭#I would have walked the whole way back to look for him if again it werent for having company over 😭#If I cant find him in a week I'm buying another he brought me so much joy just to have around 💔

#i haven’t been home long but i gotta get ready for bed bc i gotta be at work at 8 am and i mean!!#today wasn’t bad!! it was just very long and i heard today that my district manager expects us to work through#our shifts without going on break :) during holiday :) some of us work 8-9 hours lads :)#and even if we didn’t!! that’s still a lot to ask when customer service and hand making products isn’t all sunshine and fun time#i left my previous job bc i wasn’t eating and working straight through 8+ hours and it really showed in how i was mentally#you really need that time to eat and relax when you’ve been running around all day and dealing with people who aren’t always pleasant#let me stop venting though asdfg#i just feel very strongly about how companies treat their people and this is a big one bc of how miserable my last job made me#you stop taking care of your employees and you’re gonna lose them#get ready to ramble | ooc#tw vent

Opinion: A job is only "9-5" if you can get to it in like. 30 minutes.
#Oh so you have to wake up at 7 AM to get to work on time and only manage to get home at 7 PM?#That's not a 6 hour work shift babe that's a 10 hour one and you should be compensated#Either companies should pay for buses to pick up their workers or you should be getting paid for the time it takes you to get to work#A lot of companies do pay for buses to pick up their workers in Europe btw and in many parts of the world they pay for transort costs#Not sure how it is everywhrre though#Regardless... If they're taking 10 hours out of your time they should very well pay for it

If you want to know some knowledge that will piss you off:
In various higher paying jobs, especially anything related to STEM (you know that thing that everyone apparently is supposed to have a goal towards if not business), your employer DOES provide your clothes for you.
I've worked in my clinic for just over a year and my employer has provided roughly 700 dollars worth of uniform. I know this because I receive a voucher to spend as cash to purchase my work clothes, so I have the actual dollar amount. This is partially because even a cheap shirt and pants combo is about 40-50 bucks minimum but still, that's 700 dollars of uniform I do not have to buy.
When I worked my first minimum wage job I had to find and purchase my work clothes myself. When I worked for a company that "provided" work clothes, they mean they provided two work shirts and the rest I had to either buy from the company uniform website myself or I had to use my own clothes and wallet and shopping time. Working at my current job, the only thing I have to buy with my own money is socks and shoes.
I don't think employers should be legally allowed to ask anyone to dress up for interviews. I should be able to walk in off the street in jeans, sneakers, and a T-shirt and interview for jobs because employers are supposed to be interviewing me and my skills, training, education, and experience, not the nicest clothes in my closet.
It's discriminatory towards poor people to ask otherwise.
It's also just fucking audacious to demand that the people you need to provide the labor to keep your workplace going put on a suit and dance around like a trained monkey before you've even hired them.
#i have a lot of thoughts about this and other things#I work a less physically demanding yet significantly higher paying job#my uniform is paid for 100% by my clinic#my boss feeds the entire clinic once or twice a week#for a while we got paid 30 min breaks#i've been given leeway to more or less choose my own hours as long as I'm present for most of my assigned shift#bathroom breaks are not timed or counted#i'm sent home immediately if I ask to be due to not feeling well#if I need to call out it's 'hope you feel better' and not 'well but can you try to come in'#my car died and my coworkers drove me to work for two werks#I am paid more and have better benefits insurance and otherwise working for a small vet clinic halfway up a mountainside in rural ct#than I ever did working for huge multibillion dollar companies#it's enough to radicalize you#fuck corporations all my homies hate corporations

#🫶#listen. i have an attention span. but i also have time anxiety and hyperactivity#this is not some tiktok double speed with stimmy videos on the side sheit. i can take 50 mg of adderall and still not be able to quite cope#its harder on my own cuz i feel like i need to use my time to its absolute wisest power#with company or at least my wonderful lover im like okie we shall enjoy this fine art and relax our bodies whilst engaging our minds#the problem is by the time i get home from work i have left for work 9.5 hrs ago and i feel this deep need to get an#additional shift of my own time in in addition to my actual shift or i dont feel like a human being#its usually more than 9.5 and if u count time spent getting ready or time winding down from. it goes against any natural law of nature#i think i personally only need 6 hrs of sleep thats my sweet spot. but im just as anxious about getting enough sleep as staying up…………..#waaah we need more hrs in a day as well as less hours spent at work for the same paycheck…
