Pocket Monsters the Movie 2020: POSTER by LukasThadeuART
I really like the premise for this movie. It would have really made up for all the remakes we've had over the past few years and serve as a great gateway to the Sword and Shield series.
If only there was a movie that served as a proper ending to the Pokémon anime...

To all of them (and sorry if this is going to be extremely hard to answer)
What pokemon do you think you'll have as partners?
(Since there's over like 1000)
Anon asked: Do they have favorite pokemon? Theres a lot so maybe just favorite legendary pokemon?
Anon asked: Okay, okay, hear me out! If they lived in the Pokemon world, which Pokemon would they have and what region would they be from?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mannn, you guys hit the Pokemon button! Side note: I love pokemon :)
Anyways, here's the breakdown:
I picked three Pokemon for each because I got three asks about it.
For the kid, Zorua, Riolu, and Latios. If you know pokemon well, you might catch on a theme with these guys ;) He would totally be a Hoenn kid. It's very wild compared to a lot of regions, and he's an adventurer at heart. (Also, he would have far too much fun both soaring and raiding secret bases.)
For Vox, I think Rotom is just perfect for him! I mean, it possesses machines and the first time it showed up in game...it was in a TV XD. Also, Sharpedo for obvious reasons. Can't not give him a shark. Miraidon, as the paradox future Pokemon also seemed like a great fit for him too! Also the cutest screen eyes <3 He'd be from Unova, hands down. I mean, just look at Black City....also I'm not sure you could drag him out of the Marine Tunnel XD.
For Al, Banette has that crazy smile that Al does, and I think ghost types in general work really well with Al's vibe. Trevenant was the kinda alternative I found for the deer Pokemon, hence the 'antlers'. I didn't think the actual deer Pokemon match too well with Al? They all have a very cute design comparatively. Also, there is a lot of Alastor's imagery that brings up forests and swamps, so I really like grass types for him. Koraidon, as the past paradox pokemon, is just perfect for Al. It matches Vox's Miraidon, and but flipping the script to be focused on the past. Those two hit their dynamic well, I think. His region would is tough to pick but...I'd have to say probably Sinnoh. It's very concerned with the past, and I can 100% say they he'd totally try to capture the Pokémon gods XD. This man would rule the Distortion world. Also, the Old Chateau seems like the kind of place Al would love...and there's something a little adorable to me about a Rotom being found smiling at you in the TV there <3.
Thanks for the ask!

Probably the first instance of giant Pokémon battling it out before a certain set of games came along.
(I know an earlier episode had giant Pokémon. But those were all just animatronics made for Giovanni's theme park. These guys are the real deal.)

Taken From Episode 339: Gulpin it Down

What’s your thoughts on competitive battling? Personally I don’t really do battles, save for when I lived in Hoenn and Team Aqua kept hounding our town, but it seems like everyone does it??? am I just living under a rock?
i mean like it's fine??? like everything it's better in moderation. when i say "competitive battling is fine" i dont mean "FEAR rattatas are ethical" or "support IV breeders" or "leon's champion battles aren't rigged for TV." i mean that your pokémon need exercise and enrichment and so do you

Living with Leon headcanons
ya girl is back with some galar-champ goodness! i gotta say, the living-with hcs have to be some of my favourite to write, i love the cute domesticity of it all. i wrote over 1k words of this to prove it! and i still probs have more to say
features gn! reader, a suggestive reference or two, and a wee bit of angst.
nsfw part 2 here
Enjoy!
You jumped at the chance to move in with Lee
It meant you could spend way more time together
With his busy schedule, you could go a long time without seeing him in person
Five weeks at one point :(
Facetime just couldn’t cut it…
Your heart simply couldn't take it anymore!
Even just to see him briefly in the morning or at night
Share a quick kiss
Curl up against him in bed
You’d take any small, but precious, moments with your champion!
Truth be told, Leon's Wyndon penthouse wasn't much of a home before you moved in
It was picked out by Chairman Rose, paid for by him actually
Despite having lived there for YEARS
It never felt like home to Leon
Just a place to sleep, eat and workout
He never had the time (or motivation) to really just make it his own
With the exception of Hop's bedroom, which the two of them lovingly decorated together
He really wanted his brother to feel loved and comfortable whenever he stayed over
He wants you to feel that way too!
Lee lets you go as crazy as you want when it comes to redecorating
It's YOUR home now, and you'll be spending way more time in it
Even if it's not his taste, he still enjoys seeing your personal touch shine through the décor
Places you were not allowed mess with were Hop's room (duh), the gym and the master bathroom
Those last two are his sanctuaries!
His gym isn't big by any means, but it has all his usual workout machines and free weights
A mat and bag for him to practice the fighting skills he learned from Mustard
Some stuff for his Pokemon to train too!
He likes to exercise in the mornings
At 5am eek
He invites you to join, though you usually just decline because that's VERY early and your bed is too big and cosy and warm and lovely
Sometimes though, you haul the covers into the gym and watch him work out all bundled up
Thoroughly enjoying yourself at the sight of his flexing muscles
While he thoroughly enjoys your shameless admiration
The one thing you do tend to join in as part of his work-out routine is the shower afterward ;)
Speaking of
The bathroom… omg the bathroom
There's a giant tub with jets
And he's got all the essentials
Bubble bath, bath bombs, Epson salts for when your muscles are cranky
He even has dried expensive seaweed from Hoenn if you want a seaweed bath that makes your skin so utterly soft
You swfinitely try and have a bath together once a week, it's the perfect way to de-stress, but also pamper yourselves!
His shower is also HUGE
And has jets too
Plus a waterfall option that makes it feel like you're in a sexy shampoo commercial
You have spent literally HOURS in there, it's so luxurious
And he can’t even complain because there’s plenty space for the two of you!
The drain gets clogged so easily from all his hair rip
Leon definitely takes care of appearance
His skincare routine is just perfection
His beard doesn't happen like that naturally either, he shaves quite regularly to keep the style neat
When you can, you love brushing Leon’s hair
He loves it too!
It’s so comforting for him, makes him feel all fuzzy
He likes when you style it too, even if it ends up a lil’ wonky
Like a lot of things about Leon his house, his TV is huge
He has a switch too!
Naturally, he gets competitive when you’re racing against each other in Mario Kart (but in a good-natured way!)
Cuddling on the couch while watching a movie is mandatory
If you EVER secretly watch the next episode of a show you’re supposed to watch together he will never speak to you again
His skill in the kitchen is not equal to his skill in battle, but he’s still pretty good
His meals tend to be on the healthier side, but he uses a lot of spices and seasonings to make them tastier
He makes a LOT of protein shakes be warned
Sometimes he even makes you breakfast in bed <3
He definitely has a secret stash of goodies for emergencies/when he doesn’t have to keep as lean during off-season
Of course, you do get curries from your local takeaway now and again!
Like every Galarian household, tea is sacred in your home
Both of you know exactly how the other likes theirs, and you both make sure it’s made to perfection each time
However you do butt heads on what biscuit to pair with your tea (and even the dreaded dunking debate :o )
By nature of the Pokemon League being such a phenomenon in Galar
Sponsorships are a huge deal
Meaning you often end up with a ton of free stuff
Leon lets you go through the goodies and take what you like
Most of the stuff is battle/sport related
You also end up with a lot of those rich people kitchen gadgets that are so much worse than what you already have
Why is dpes the blender need to be connected to the wifi?
You are secretly trying to get him to get a squishmellows sponsorships haha
When he's had a rough day, coming home to you is simply heaven
He'll climb into your arms and bury his face in his chest
Holding you so tight in the security of your shared space
While you play with his hair
In here, with you, there are no fans, no executives, no great big titles, no legacy to defend within an inch of his life
It’s just two lovers, taking care of each other
While he likes the apartment well enough (especially now with you in it)
He certainly does not plan to stay there forever
After he loses the champion title, he moves you into a beautifully vintage townhouse near the Battle Tower
It's definitely cosier and more lowkey
With room for a (sizable) family if that's your plan
And ofc a home gym and fancy bathroom
Plus a garden too, which you didn't have before!
He indulges himself a little and gets a cottage in Postwick for you to escape to when the hustle and bustle of the city gets a bit too much

Wh... Are you serious?!
[Sent from Samsung Smart Fridge]
BREAKING NEWS: A child from Opelucid City appears to have defeated Team Winter single-handedly and brought summer back to Unova.
Henry, age 10, who goes by the internet handle @klangking, discovered Team Winter's base in the Castelia City sewers over the made the dangerous trek there on foot in -20 degree weather.
Upon entering the sewers (and dispatching a few grunts) he seems to have made his way into a large, central chamber that contained the legendary Unovan dragon Kyurem, hooked up to some sort of weather machine that had been lowering temperatures all throughout the region.
Fortunately Henry and his trusty Klinklang (named Totoro) are no strangers to danger! They defeated the legendary dragon and activated the weather machine's self destruct function - destroying it and allowing Unova to revert to its natural climate.
A number of witnesses were there at the scene. It is believed that @profsilverleaf and @guitarandgallade were present as hostages, or perhaps employees of the city's wastewater treatment facilities that had been trapped in the sewer during the deep freeze (Professor Silverleaf and Jesse have not provided comment).
Noted criminal @iheartnimbassacity was also there, along with her spouse @professor-amaryllis. They have not responded to comment, but security footage seems to imply that they were involved in a domestic dispute unrelated to the Kyurem thing. @subwaywardeningo's presence in the sewers implies that he may have played a support role in Henry's heroism. It is believed that he perhaps healed Henry's pokemon at a pivotal moment or perhaps offered some words of encouragement (Subway Master Ingo has not provided Hoenn TV with any comment). Regardless of the details, one thing is clear: The trend of children stopping terrorist organizations is still going strong! The adults of the world can rest easy knowing that the younger generation has our back. Back to you, Gabby!
This feels... suspiciously biased.
-Gabby
Eh, I've seen worse.

Hm. The Starlys sure are nuts today.
The untamed twittering of the birds sounded far more plentiful than normal to the boy. He glanced around, tilting his red hat to better block the morning sun from his slate-colored eyes.
So, where is it? It's here somewhere...
Ah!
He found what he was after, nestled in the tall grass near the lake's edge.
The briefcase.
He picked it up, grunting with effort.
Then, he heard a new sound.
A small sound, like...
A baby Pokemon?
Is that what the Starlys are so riled up about?
He set the briefcase near the path leading back home, and carefully began searching among the trees, straining his ears should the sound happen again. He readied a Pokeball.
Trusting his gut feeling, he followed the Starlys' chatter. They were definitely interested in SOMEthing over here...
He gasped at what he found, and fumbled for his radio.
“...where more Rangers have arrived, and are fighting to get it under control. There has been no news yet on how it started or if there are any casualties, but there is suspicion about a large structure--”
The TV was switched off.
“Hoenn's in a bad spot today, it seems,” The man muttered to a Lucario lying nearby. At his words, she stretched, yawning widely. “I hope they can get that sorted out quickly." He walked to his kitchen table and sipped from his tea cup.
Suddenly, his radio buzzed to life. The voice from the other end was abnormally unsettled. “Uh... P-Professor?”
The man grew serious as he held the button to reply. “Trouble, Lucas?”
“Uhh... N-Not reeeaally... I got the briefcase, but... Uh...” An anxious inhale sounded. “There's a man out here.”
“A man? You have the Piplup on hand, yes? Are you in danger?”
“No no no, I... Uh, no, he's... Not dangerous, I don't think. He's... He's unconscious... and...” The boy's voice cracked, and there was another breath. The man barely heard the next word. “N-naked.”
At this, the Professor's brows furrowed. “Is he injured?” He started toward his bedroom.
The response was quick and squeaky. “I don't know, I'm not gonna stare at a naked guy in the middle of the woods, Professor!”
The Professor couldn't help an inward chuckle at his flustered assistant. “Is he at least breathing?” He grabbed a couple large blankets from the closet, found a first-aid kit, and went to pull on his coat.
“Uh...” The radio went silent for a second. “...Y-yeah. He's breathing normally.”
The Professor nodded to himself. “Alright. I'll be there soon, Lucas. Keep Piplup at the ready in case any wild Pokemon get too involved.”
He went into his lab and explained to the top aide where he was going. He grabbed a Pokeball.
“Aye aye, Professor. And, uh... S-sorry... For, uh...”
“I understand. This is a very unusual occurrence. You've done fine, my boy.”
Tumblr media
~~~~~~
(I hope that subject matter isn't too, uh... weird for people. Just so we're clear, I will never do anything overtly nude. I may imply it, but never depict it. Aside from, you know, Pokemon.)
Here we go, starting a whole new chapter!
From here we're gonna be following my playthrough of Shining Pearl that I did with my shinies and Mews. It won't be a perfect match to what happened in-game, it'll just loosely follow the same steps.
Disclaimer: This is my interpretation of the BDSP story and characters. Anyone is perfectly free to disagree with how I handle things, but please respect my decisions as the storyteller here.
If anyone wants to ask about any specific moments of this arc, I'm willing to break chronology UNTIL ETERNA CITY. A very important event happens there, so I don't want to go beyond it in story telling.
Mentions of Pyramid King Brandon post-Emerald
youtube
First, check out this secret little detail in ORAS that's hard to miss. It's not an event, but apparently unaired episodes of a TV show that features Brandon in universe. Confirmed now in Masters, he's famous, so this iteration is taking some cues from ORAS.
Tumblr media
Later, USUM has this lil tidbit in the Gamefreak office. This is NOT in the original SM, as these magazines are not interact-able in vanilla SM. Of course, ORAS was building a Battle Frontier-- it never came to fruition in our copies of the games, but it's clear that eventually the Hoenn Battle Frontier was built.
depending on future Masters interactions (or games), there is a chance Anabel was never born in the Mega timeline-- maybe being that Faller Anabel fills the "anabel shaped gap" in this universe.
Everything We Know About the Protags' and Rivals' Families
Red/Leaf
Their mother is probably the Pokémom we know the least about. She only ever talks about worrying for her child, and doesn't seem to have any hobbies or anything noteworthy about her. I'm glad that the later games have started giving the moms more personality.
As for their dad, the only reference to him is in the Celadon Department Store. Upon looking at one of the TVs, the protag will say, "A sports game! Dad'll like that!" So we know that their father is a fan of sports, and has enough of a connection with their child for them to know that.
Blue Oak
Of course, he has a grandfather (er, what was his name again?), and that grandfather has a cousin named Samson who lives in Alola. He also has an older sister, Daisy, who has allegedly competed in Pokémon Contests in the past according to a Pokémon Journal in the Sevii Islands. This means she must have traveled to either Hoenn or Sinnoh at some point, probably during her childhood or adolescence. We know nothing about Blue & Daisy's parents.
Ethan/Kris/Lyra (as protag)
This Pokémom still doesn't have much going on outside of talking to other women in town and apparently enjoying cooking, but she does at least assist by managing her child's money. In retrospect, an eleven-year-old in real life probably should not be trusted with all that money, so good idea. Too bad she also seems irresponsible with money, buying things with her child's money without asking them. Sometimes those purchases are helpful, sometimes they're not. Either way, you should get permission first, ma'am.
As far as I can remember, their father is never mentioned.
Ethan/Lyra (as friend)
They live with their father in New Bark Town; as far as I know, their mother is never mentioned. Their grandparents are the Day Care Couple that lives south of Goldenrod City.
Silver
We all know by now that Silver's father is Giovanni. According to the Celebi event, father and son parted ways three years before GSC on Route 22, with Giovanni heading towards the Pokémon League and Silver heading back, presumably to Viridian. If we assume that he is the standard protag/rival age of 11, then he seperated from Giovanni at the age of eight. When he shows up in New Bark Town, he lowkey seems to be homeless. I'm not sure how an eight-year-old without Pokémon would have made it over to Johto alone. The most likely people to help him would be Team Rocket, but he's stubborn enough that he'd probably reject their help. Did he climb through or trek around Mt. Silver?
Despite the many fan theories, the identity of Silver's mother has never been discussed in the games.
May/Brendan (as protag)
A protagonist with two visible parents?! Impossible. But yes, Norman and his wife are still together. In Ruby and Sapphire, your mother specifically mentions that your family moved from Johto; curiously though, that dialogue was changed in Emerald to just say "another region." Later in B2W2's World Tournament, Norman specifically says he is from Olivine City.
The only references to their parents' lives before comes in ORAS, when the mother mentions that she and Norman watched the Litleonids the last time they occurred. Awwww.
May/Brendan (as rival)
They live with their parents, Professor and Mrs. Birch, in Littleroot Town. In Emerald only, they also have a younger brother. Prof. Birch seems to have a very close relationship with their child, though since they're often involved in fieldwork they may not get to see their mother much. Interestingly, Birch and Norman have supposedly been friends "since their school days." That means either Norman had gone to school in Hoenn before moving to Olivine, or Birch went to school in Johto.
Wally
We actually know a lot about Wally's family since it's part of the plot of RSE. He lives with his parents in Petalburg City, who are understandably protective of his health. He later moves to Verdanturf to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin Wanda. Not much is known about them, other than that Wanda is romantically involved with a guy from Rustboro.
Lucas/Dawn (as protag)
They live in Twinleaf Town with their mother, the Contest star Johanna. She gets out of the house more, both for Contests and to observe her child's success in the Battle Zone.
There are two references to the player's father, and both occur in Platinum. Johanna says that her child reminds him of him and that the two of them "are so alike." Later when met at the Battle Frontier, Palmer will note that he was a friend and rival to their father, similar to how they are now with Barry. Notably, in a very early beta of Diamond & Pearl, the player's father was going to appear early in the game. I don't speak Japanese, but based on the screenshots I'm guessing he was going to be involved in the player's first Pokémon encounter.
Lucas/Dawn (as friend)
They live in Sandgem Town with their father, grandfather, and little sister. Their father works as an assistant to Professor Rowan; nothing about their mother is known. Their sister watches TV a lot, and therefore often hears about swarms occurring in Sinnoh.
Barry
He lives in Twinleaf Town with his mother, while his father Palmer works at the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. Both parents seem to care for their son, but I honestly can't remember them ever talking to or about each other, so I don't know what their relationship status is.
Hilbert/Hilda
The Pokémom of Nuvema Town is said to have been a Trainer herself when she was younger. However, now she mostly stays at home, only departing to give the player the running shoes. In B2W2 she behaves similarly to Red's mother, saying she kind of wants to go out and find her child, but would feel bad if they stopped by while she was gone. Which makes me wonder: does her kid not still have their Xtransceiver? Why can't she just...call them like a normal person?
Their father is referenced by their mother when she says that they met each other on their own Pokémon journeys. Aw, young love. No hints to their current relationship status, though.
Cheren
Cheren lives with his parents in Nuvema Town. I don't remember anything of note about them.
Bianca
Bianca lives with her parents in Nuvema Town, and we all remember how her father acts at the beginning of the games. I don't recall her mother's reaction; apparently she was the one to tell him that Bianca made it to Nimbasa City, so maybe that indicates that Bianca trusts her slightly more.
Nate/Rosa
This is definitely one of the cooler Pokémoms. She is an old friend of Professor Juniper, and used to work in Pokémon Centers (specifically implied to be the ones in Nimbasa and Mistralton). She's knowledgeable about the many locations in Unova, and supports her child by providing information.
Bulbapedia claims that there are references to their dad in the games, but a search of relevant pages has turned up no references.
Hugh
Hugh lives with his mother, father, and younger sister in Aspertia City. His father has the sprite of a Black Belt, and his mother has the sprite of a Nursery Aide, which is a cute pairing. Hugh also mentions that he has a deceased grandfather, who caught his little sister's Purrloin. Hugh is very protective of his sister; overall this is a cute little family.
Calem/Serena (as protag)
They live with their mother, Grace, in Vaniville Town. The two recently moved to the town, but it's unclear if they are from another region entirely, or just a different town in Kalos. Regardless, Grace is known for being a Rhyhorn racer.
The only mention of the player's father is in a story Grace tells about one of her races. She lost control of her Rhyhorn at the finish line, where he was waiting, and she "sent him flying."
Calem/Serena (as rival)
They also live with their mother in Vaniville Town. It's mentioned that both of their parents are renowned Pokémon battlers, which is cool. Otherwise, their father is never mentioned.
Shauna & Tierno
Strangely, we know nothing about these two's families. Shauna seems to live in or near Vaniville Town since she hangs out there a lot, but she doesn't have a house there. Tierno hangs around Coumarine City a lot during postgame, so maybe he's supposed to be from there? But we know nothing about their family lives.
Trevor
Trevor lives with his sister in Lumiose City. Apparently his mother and father are currently traveling the world to train their Pokémon. The world of this game series just seems very chill about family relations, and treats it as socially acceptable to leave your family to take a journey. I suppose they appreciate long-distance relationships or just don't value family that much.
Selene/Elio
They live with their mother on the outskirts of Hau'oli City. Their family was originally from the Kanto region, and the player's mother was once a renowned Meowth trainer, earning the nickname of the "Scratch Cat Girl." She's even seen at the end of the game battling the Masked Royal.
Apparently she is still married to the player's father, who still lives in Kanto. The two keep in touch by sending each other letters.
Hau
Hau lives with his grandfather Hala in Iki Town. He mentions his mother several times, saying he enjoys her cooking; she is not confirmed to be present in the games, but there is a female NPC randomly placed inside Hala's house that some assume to be Hau's mother. His father is traveling on a journey in another region (implied to be Kanto).
Gladion
We all know this by now - used to live with Lusamine, Mohn, and Lillie; then Mohn disappeared, Gladion ran away with Type: Null, and Nebby teleported Lillie to Route 1. An Aether Paradise NPC also notes that Lusamine's father (so Gladion's grandfather) was a wealthy man who loved Pokémon, and he was the one who built the Foundation.
Chase/Elaine
They live with their mother in Pallet Town. Like Red & Leaf's mother, this Pokémom doesn't have a whole lot going on. Bulbapedia says that they have a referenced father; I'm guessing it's that same dialogue in the Department Store from the other Gens.
Trace
Since he's no longer Professor Oak's grandson, Trace seems to only live with his sister. Perhaps another Trevor situation?
Victor/Gloria
They seem to have always lived in Postwick with their mum. She doesn't have a whole lot going on, and the only reference to their father is the statement that the player's bag is a hand-me-down from him.
Hop
Hop lives in Postwick with his parents and grandparents, and Leon used to live there before going off to be a champion and whatnot.
Marnie
Her parents are never mentioned; she seems to live with Piers.
Bede
Bede was apparently raised in an orphanage, so the identity of his parents are unknown.
Rei
Both as the protagonist and as the rival, their family situations are unknown.
Akari
As the protagonist, her family situation is unknown. As the rival, she mentions wanting to send a photo to her parents and brag about her work with the player in the Survey Corps.
Juliana/Florian
They recently moved to Cabo Poco with their mother from a different region. It's implied they may be from Galar, as the mother has a Skwovet and uses the term "cuppa" when talking to Clavell. Their father is never mentioned.
Nemona
Nemona's father, mother, and sister live in Cabo Poco. They moved to the Paldea region when Nemona was seven; their original region is unknown. Nemona's father is on the board of the Rotom Phone company, so they have a decent amount of wealth.
Because I'm a nerd, let's finish with some stats:
Characters confirmed to have both parents currently alive: 16 out of 34
Characters who live with both of their parents: 8 out of 34
Characters who live with their mother: 22 out of 34
Characters who live with their father: 12 out of 34
Characters with at least one living grandparent: 5 out of 34
Characters with siblings: 10 out of 32
