I need to like set aside a day to just study Sniper's character because the way he's treated in fandom VS how he's presented in canon material is so different and it's messing with my brain

Sigh. I Hated the guy for his hockey but he's Like That too huh? -_-

also before people start trying to equate sid with what the rat did can i just say that i watched both the 2016 visit and the 2017 visit and sid's behavior was completely different - right up front in 2016, lots of photos, big smiles. Vs 2017 it was very obviously just a formality and sid said nothing. (also also the rat didnt say anything about who he voted for he just parroted the usual southern patriotic line? I dont see why people are jumping to conclusions that he is a diehard conservative from this? I dont think this totally negates the efforts i have seen from the rat in promoting LGBQT rights in a very very red state like florida. Not to defend a guy whose hockey i hate or anything. I just dont think fans should start getting angry at other fans who are willing to overlook this comment, or forget that the rat has said he believes everyone belongs in a hockey locker room during an era in the league where this is not the most popular stance)

(but also blacklisting the rat's name on tumblr works VERY well i should know, lol. Him and the candy cane chicago guy are my two blacklisted names. Its like they dont even exist anymore :P)

(but also i know how hard it hurts to realize that someone you admire from a distance might actually treat you like shit in real life just because of what 'other' group you belong to, so my sympathies to fans going through it right now)

Oh that mental image of him breaking down and his Dragonite gently holding him until he's ready to hug back--crying in the club fr I wanna write this scene so much

Another personal hc that I have is definitely one that has a lot of self-projecting onto it. Mostly from the throw away line of 'my knees are creaking' and how the other E4s run to the end of the arena while he takes his sweet time. Couple that with lines on how he fell asleep and is always just resting at the club, a part of me likes to think that he's got some health issues. Maybe joint pain or something that causes chronic exhaustion.

Drayton isn't all too bad with his classes schoolwork wise but he fails primarily on his lack of attendance. Maybe it's partially from days where getting out of bed is hard, or when he can't pretend that everything's all fine and dandy. Sitting down often because standing or walking too long causes his knees to act up. Napping when he can cause he's just low-key tired all the time.

Perhaps he wouldn't have gotten the reputation of being lazy and a slacker if he just spoke up about it but no. He gives me the vibes of someone who dislikes pity, having a level of pride where he prefers to handle stuff on his own. He's got a system with his Pokemon where they help him on bad days. Shame that's how people saw him but it's not like he's making an effort to dispel it anyway. He'd hate it if those displeased looks turned to pity instead

But I'm also a sucker for days where he just can't summon up the energy to pretend around people, and while most just chalk it up to him being lazy again, maybe his friends can tell and help make things a little easier.

(Again, that's just my personal hc with a healthy dose of self projection. I just love putting him through situations haha)

No but, imagine if the reason behind that too is bc how grueling the training of Drayden was. Cause I also have this small hc that Iris really tried to keep up w Drayden's 10k push ups, sit ups, and squats during their training too (so she's a bit built thanks to that lmfao), but Drayton couldn't keep up w that, he tries but he couldn't, his body wasn't frail to say the least, but he wasn't built like Drayden or Iris, his body was a bit weaker compared to theirs, so when he tries, even when he did warm ups beforehand, it'd still leave his body quite sore

That plus the lil hc I have that he always waits for Iris to come back home most nights, so he stays up late most of the time too, making him tired the next day

But yeah, with his pride, he always refuse to get help, to the point he conditioned himself that there really is nothing wrong w him, but there is y'know, and sometimes he can't handle it anymore. There was once his body just needed rest that he didn't go to school at all, it resulted in his fam telling him if he's that lazy then he should just stop going to school and just help around the house, after all, he isn't trusted enough for the gym, wasn't motivated enough to do any kind of work, not even w school, so what's he gonna do

Anyways yeah, this I canon in my heart anon, just let the boy sleep in he deserves it

finally watching channel zero and i immediately have so many thoughts in the first ten minutes

#random thoughts #candle cove #okay so first: the fly #obviously represents mike in some way #it was drowning in a glass which was given to him complimentary. something about struggling to feel like he belongs in his life?#like it was something given to him that he does not deserve and does not make him happy #his relationship with his wife is obviously strained. his son is mentioned so far only in relation to his career #though his mother says he's always welcome the framing in the kitchen is claustrophobic #either only one of their faces is in camera very close or they're clustered together in one half of the kitchen #his mother is a foster parent or a teacher of some kind. possibly trying to fill the void made empty #by what she views is the disappearance of both her sons #though mike said his father was out of the picture he seems shocked his mother doesn't have pictures of him around #probably not dead but has left and mike blames her somehow and views his father as blameless #when his brother disappeared mike also lost a mother. and his mother lost both her sons #their dialogue is very. distant and impersonal. no questions about each others' lives. no questions about his wife and son.#and mike seems to struggle with children despite being a child psychologist. in both times we've seen him he's been overly friendly #and strained. in the dream sequence we see him snap at the child to turn the tv off #which is more evidence to the idea mike feels he doesn't belong in his career #he may also be experiencing some kind of depersonalization of others (the mannequins behind the cameras)#possibly believing his actions to ultimately not matter because those there to witness them are not truly people #hope to see what kind of relationships he DOES form or if his sense of relationships has been completely tarnished by his brother's death #subconsciously he fears his childhood home. he possibly knows something about the disappearance of his brother #who he also talks about more as an extension of himself rather than as a seperate entity #so far no puppets. sad!#back to the framing in the kitchen. i think mike views his relationship to his mother as one which is forced #it lacks closeness but they are forced to be part of each others' lives due to the genetic bond between them #his mother fears mike is back to prod at the old wound which is the murders #it seems she's trying to cope by distancing herself and keeping her mind busy with raising children #it's notable the girl calls her miss rather than mom. more distance despite objective closeness #mike may also become jealous of the girl. he seems like he has a strange relationship with the children in his life

I will always remember the day I was explaining my uncle why I typed him as an ENTP and when explaining his functions he said "oh no I think i'm way more this Ti thing than the Ne thing INTP makes more sense to me"

and he kept disagreeing with me for like half an hour AND HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT MBTI WHILE I KNEW A LOT AND KNEW WHAT I WAS SAYING

and that whole discussion just showed me why i was exactly right in typing him as an ENTP

#its ‘i watched a tv show and i need to talk about it in the tags of this site im not on anymore’ time #ty to the void for always accepting my thoughts <3 #so honestly its just me thinking about the andromeda tv show. i just finished it and it left me destitute bc i clung onto the first 2 season #s as a basis and had ten thousand questions i *assumed* would be resolved. spoiler alert: they were nto #not*. and the coda addition helps but like. not enough. it explains some of the #oh fyi if anyone is reading or cared there will be spoilers #anyways it explained some of them ex for the cosmic engine bit. seemed pretty relevant and then was never mentioned again #i also MUCH prefer that version of trance — i had speculation she was a sun avatar which i took as confirmation when i finally noticed her #tattoo when harper used it to remind himself he put that data in the sun etc etc but i much prefer the sun-as-consciousness-astral-poject-#ing-slash-dreamjng-itself-a-body / being a little devil. i think that feels much more true to what we got in worldbuilding early on and tbh #the bar is on the floor bc any explanation would be better than what we got. also im sorry but s5 i trusted SO hard that that whole virgil #vox bit in the finale was insulting. couldnt even tie up the loose end you invented at the last minute????? #this is so mind numbingly exhausting i don't understand how everyone else seems to just do it?#it was such a weird day #started out in a good mood but then boss scolded these two interns cause of a mistake #and like he wasn't shouting exactly but he raised his voice and said so many things like you are so careless im suffering so many losses bc #bc of you outsiders are going to think i don't have a good team and i don't have control over my team #and how we should always note things down because we're so distracted and not serious #and how before going home everyday we should report to him what work we did today #i understand that he's being reasonable (maybe? idk) but it sounded so eerily horribly like my dad i couldn't function properly for an hour #why are men so similar everywhere #why am i SO scared i could feel the disappointment radiating off him and he wasn't even mad at me and i felt like a failure #which is so embarrassing like girl stop you are a 20 year old adult woman you will not cry at your workplace because an angry man triggered #your dad issues #and upar se there was a new intern at work one year younger than me and oh my god he was so annoying #like i talked to him first bc i pitied him like what if he felt alone it was only his second day but boy literally could not stop talking😭#like ok it's kinda cool that this senior di she trusted me enough to be like you teach him this project report this when ive only been #here for 3 weeks but bhai😭 he's so annoying 😭 i have newfound respect for the di how does she handle all 7-8 of us interns i would go #crazy and shout at everyone and tell them to leave me alone 😭 but she's so patient and kind and answers dumb questions 100 times #but she's leaving this office permanently from next month bc of her ca final :( i mean very good for her she deserves better more money #better work hours better office etc. but :(( she's leaving :((#as you can see i have both dad issues and abandonment issues so fun lol

#I’m intrigued by the gender politics of this #as Black Venus this character is essentially taking on the role of an official pilot #while her tracking down the body of this pilot and then vowing revenge for his death has a romance framing #I think it’s also a kind of narrative that’s commonly used for ‘brothers in arms’-type characters #her competence as a pilot also wasn’t questioned in last issue’s story by the other characters #and there and here it’s not being remarked upon that she flies well for a woman in the narration #I like that Black Venus cries when she finds the body and then directs those feelings into #‘I’ll get him for this- I’ll kill him if it’s the last thing I do!’#also the Agent X that murdered the pilot is revealed to be a woman #when Black Venus learns this she’s really startled #and Agent X says ‘Don’t let that deceive you! I can still defeat you!’#she does not actually as Black Venus succeeds in murdering her #also it seemed to me that this pilot was not the same primary love interest from the first story that stood out from all the other pilots #so I was thinking that Black Venus' civilian job as a U.S.O. girl would give her a revolving door of love interests #but then at the end of this story she dramatically declares that because of this pilot’s death #‘From now on no matter how many people are around me I will always be alone!’#/if/ they actually maintain that she’s swearing off romance then that would be an interesting conflict with her job #aviation press #black venus #my posts #comic panels #racist language tw

you swear there’s nothing between you and co-star!nanami, but every time you feel overwhelmed and stressed on the carpet or any major events, he reaches for your hand, letting you hold onto his arm as you both walk side by side. only with a look, he understands and goes to your side, helping you calm down without a word. his presence is always enough to make you feel better.

but, no— you swear there’s nothing between you and kento. you swear your fans are not onto something and it’s only their imaginations running wild. but, between two scenes, when you can’t help but stare at the perfectly sculpted man who’s standing two feet away from you, who’s so well-spoken, compassionate, courteous and kindhearted, god, you really wish something was going on, between you and your co-star kento nanami.
