#a BRAT #ANOTHER brat #he already makes me want to pick him up by the scruff and shake him #hsr #anaxa #i don't know what's up with the designs this time #his character art looks really pretty #but why is it all those metal d8's and? it's just books? around him?#super boring #jiaoqiu's background art looked plain because of the sandy color #but there's so much detail and movement #i'll probably pull anaxa anyway bc pretty boys are pretty #but i'm starting to understand what people mean about games technically catered to “everyone”#male characters they want to sell often have great stories but sometimes lack thought to that and character design #while the female characters get 2 seconds of screentime and outfits that vary between artistic delights and obvious bait #it's frustrating from both sides #especially when you just want good storylines #i also wish he wasn't a wind character #erudition tend to be damage dealers and i already have feixiao for wind element #io shitposts

#tloz #princess zelda #link #assumedly?#botw #totk #technically #loz redesigns round 2 #the first great calamity #the ancient heroes aspect #the ancient hero’s aspect #art #my art #redesign #listen this is probably the one and only time ill draw something furry so if it looks a bit wonky i dont really care lmao #this is one of the few designs where im Under designing one of the characters #ie the heroes aspect is such a messy design #i went of the mural a little bit more for the coloring so a little more orangey red involved in his design #and also changing his face to look a little less offputting #and the greener looking eyes from the mural #the darker fur also helps the teal pop #but yes i made his armor a little less zonai-y and a tad more guardian inspired?#i didnt take away all the zonai vibes because he’s seemingly related to them somehow #i do wish we had a timeline for how long after rauru sealed ganon that this calamity happened #but oh well #but yeah uh zelda #vaguely based on sonia #thats pretty much all i have to say about her lmao #i used more neutrals on her dress to semi emulate the pure white of the mural #while also bringing in more of those sheikah tech colors

#the boy and the heron #not tagging wish 'cause i'm being a little acidic #this isn't to be negative in the slightest--I really respect both films--but it's interesting to see how visceral boy+H gets with its story #what evils have to be rejected and what they represent--and how characters and the world suffer from those evils--as well as how the whole #'rejecting' part goes. in terms of animation powerhouses discussing their legacies - disney and miyazaki both - I find it interesting that #one makes a pretty safe and nostalgic movie about imagination and dreams; the other is a long trudge through the land of the dead.#b+h is a hard watch - and a look at the legacy of a man questioning his whole purpose in the world - after his cultural touchstones #have long passed by. This is a redraw from January 6 2023, in honour of it being 1 YEAR since I posted the last chapter of The Father(s) and Son(s)!!!!! A little bit over a year actually because it was April 10th and it took me a little while to draw this lol

So much has changed in the span of a year omg. And for THE BETTER?? Like I’m going to school, I made and lost friends, I’m slowly but surely getting over some social anxiety (still a wip tho!!! 😭😭) and I’ve found so many cool mutuals and artists and just!!!! AAA!! Not to mention my art skills have improved a whole HELL of a lot!! LMAO

I don’t write as much as I did when I wrote my fic initially, and I feel bad for that sometimes, but it’s just a testament to how things have gotten a lot better for me and it’s not bad that I’m busy. I’m still trying to cobble together some more writing to eventually get another fic out, cuz I do genuinely miss it, but we’ll get there when we get there!

Damian is learning that his siblings are more #three-dimensional than he realized and that is part of this 'coming of age' story merged with fairytale #so I can't be mad at the oversimplistic defining of Dick and Jason and Tim until the conclusion of the series. that might be the point.#I hope that the series will address Steph as a Robin but if not then frankly it's not an issue unique to this series.#I'll be annoyed and disappointed but ultimately roll with it like I am with Babsgirl being here. #my characters #CHESS BABIES #they actually had a tag here and i adore it bc it was in caps lock for a while #no idea why it was in caps but whatever it was thems the rules #rice has a younger sister named turnip and shes a pawn and then his coworker rook is a guy named cakes #and cakes has a huuuuuuge crush on him and doesnt think to hide it so rice just kinda puts up with it and then somehow #they meet with one of the white knights and are like well he seems mostly harmless #and since they dont attack or try to kill him he decides hes actually in love with rice as well so cakes is like oh no #im going to lose my years long crush to some foreign guy #but the white knight is just vibing cause out of the entire white army he has the least stake in it bc he was born in the land of red #so he doesnt really care but since one of his parents was a white native he got recruited kinda #look it sounds so bad to have colored nations and them being white black and red #but its chess i swear and my dad had a REALLY FUCKING NICE wooden chess set when i was a kid #and it was AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL and each piece had red felt on the bottom to about scuffing the pretty wood board #anyway thats where the neutral land idea came from - all of his pieces had SOME red on them #and now i gotta go to work for more video orientation #guys theres been so many videos in the past two days #i have no energy for art #i have so many things i wanna draw but i havent managed to actually do anything yet #i need a fuckin schedule.....
