I'm definitely just overanalyzing anything at this point but. I was watching Car Trek and I find it really interesting how you can possibly read this scene as showing off how much Ray tended to prioritize Henry over everyone else in the show like. AM I CRAZY.

obviously the joke here is that Ray wants to drive even if it's Schwaz van, and that he likes being in charge of things that aren't even his job to do, that's literally the whole gag. it's funny, we all laughed WOO... butttt, again, Henry's presence is what's throwing me off. Even before Ray forced Schwaz out of the drivers seat, Henry already called shot gun. Probably because Charlotte and Jasper were probably gonna stay in the back, so might as well. Whatever, normal. But then Ray starts telling Schwaz to gtfo, and what really catches my attention is the fact that he never really involves Henry in the whole thing?

Obviously, he's not going to tell Henry to go back too, it's Henry (and that pretty much is my whole point LMFAO). He doesn't tell Schwaz to just take the passenger seat. No, he tells him to go to the back, and even if it's Charlotte's birthday he wasn't giving her any shotgun privileges either. Henry just stays and no one's arguing because Ray's probably also gonna fight for him to stay 😭

also find it really interesting how henry just. didn't say anything the whole time. feel like that's silent acknowledgement Ray WILL consider him first over a lot of stuff

Charlotte, Henry, and Jasper hcs:

-Jasper gives the best cuddles in swellview, it's unreal. Piper has agreed, and she can barely stand physical contact with other people outside of a firm handshake or the contact needed to maim someone; a fist bump if you're lucky. it's also most common that Jasper is the first to ask about cuddles, especially if he notices Henry or Charlotte might want that.

It's not uncommon to see Charlotte doing homework in junk n' stuff laying against Jasper while he scrolls on his phone. Honestly, it's bad for her productivity(not as bad as the man cave but still). She wants to get her shit done, but that requires grabbing her backpack, and it's comfy where she's at right there. After like a minute of mentally being at war with herself she'll be like "Is it ok if I go to the man cave to grab my backpack? I'll be right back." and Jasper's like "yeah, no problem." and Charlotte's like "ok thanks".

-They have a 1 spotify account between the 3 of them. How they manage to share a singular account is beyond me, and the laws of reason, but they do it. It's technically Henry's account, given he pays for the premium subscription, but it wasn't just his for more than like a week. Their spotify wrapped playlist is disjointed to a comedic degree. Don't even try to get through their liked songs.

They have separate personal playlists for their personal favorites. but the playlist names are indecipherable if you are not them. and they will judge each other's music tastes in the playlist description.

-This might be canon, but Charlote can read Henry like a book. Henry's eyebrows move a centimeter, and Charlotte is getting a burrito bc she sees that he's craving one. She knows the degree of "Is Ray shitting me?" that Henry is feeling the second he comes out the tube, the mask affects nothing. Everyone kinda writes it off like "It's a bit creepy, but it's also Charlotte" & "that's a normal smart person thing to do." which no, it isn't.

Charlotte is most accurate with Henry, but Henry can read Jasper better than Charlotte can, and Jasper can read Charlotte better than Henry. It moves in a triangle of sorts. They also read each other's emotions in different ways. Charlotte goes off of facial expressions, Henry by the tone of their voice, and Jasper by general body language.

-Henry is probably the best cook out of the 3 of them. None of them are particularly bad at cooking per say, but Henry is the best at it. He tries to play it off at times and suggest that they get take-out on his nights to make dinner, but that's almost always a no from Charlotte and Jasper unless he's exhausted. Also the take-out in dystopia is terrible, even by shitty take-out standards. Like you do not get take-out in dystopia unless you *have* to.

Henry's weak link? Grilling/Barbeque. The guy won't turn hamburgers into hockey pucks, but he hates working a grill, and the grill hates him back. But that's fine, as Charlotte was taught by the Lord of Barbeque, her uncle Rosco. And in terms of baking, Henry and Charlotte love Jasper's baking too much to try and replicate it. It works out well for them in the kitchen.

-Henry and Charlotte were in competition for best driver sophomore year. It started as a joke of who would chauffer and who would pay for gas. But then they were in the same car for driver's ed and shit got intense. They would point out if the other was one mile over the speed limit, roasting the other's parking, grilling each other on the exact meaning of signs.

They got their driver's test scores and it turns out Jasper is the best/safest driver. Henry and Charlotte tied at the decent score of 79, but Jasper got a 96. He jokes its his way of recovering after experiencing Piper drive in the graveyard, which she scoffed at. So Jasper is the chauffer while Henry and Charlotte pay for his gas.

-honestly it's a good rule of thumb that if two of them are competing, the other person will win. Jasper and Henry racing to the swellview pool in the summer? Charlotte's already there. Jasper and Charlotte at each other's throats over who gets the last slice of pie? They turn around and Henry's watching them while eating the piece in question. Henry and Charlotte are spending all day trying to beat a high score in a video game? Jasper takes a turn and his score is undefeated for a week.

When schwoz first pointed it out, it was kind of a point of contention. the 2 competing would glare at the 3rd person before snapping back to glaring at the other. But after the driver's license competition, it just became funny. Charlotte and Henry saw Jasper asking Piper and Ray their scores, laughing his ass off as grumbled about just barely passing his drivers test. And joined in laughing as Piper growled at him, but not quite ruing the fact the dmv fucked up about her license.

Henry would definitely not know that One Direction broke up/went on hiatus.

So I believe that, one time he and Piper were having an argument because Henry wanted something but Piper was just being Piper so then, Henry said something along the lines of-

-‘I’ll take you to a One Direction concert’ or ‘Charlotte has two backstage passes for that one boyband you like, I can ask her to take you!’

And Piper freezes when she hears what Henry says, she then proceeds to tell him that we’re on hiatus and/or disbanded.

(these are like a mix of just him as a person and like what getting into a relationship would be like)

as friends

he would be so caring and nice, but equally as teasing. if you two work together, there would be late nights patching him up from being kid danger. if not, you'd still be patching him up, just always telling him that he can tell you when he's ready, making sure he's comfortable. hanging out with him would be full of playing video games and watching videos. sometimes you would even cook together or just lay in his bed napping or watching tv together.

how he asks you out

he'd definitely want to do it on his own, with a lot of convincing from ray, jasper, and charlotte. he'd ask them not to interfere, telling them that he can do it on his own. once he plans some things, he finally asks. it's one of those times you're laying there watching tv, just lazing with him in his bed. he pauses the tv, wanting your full attention. he sits up, causing you to do the same. he stutters and messes himself up multiple times, but he gets his point across. of course you say yes, blushing and smiling big.

the date

doesn't go how he planned at all. you went to get ice cream, but while walking there, you watch someone get mugged. you urge him to go help, insisting that that elderly woman is more important. you hold his ice cream, leaning on the wall beside you. he comes back to a horrible scene. some bastard hitting on you and not taking 'no' for an answer. he ends up in a fight with the man, chasing him off pretty quick. he apologizes over and over for leaving your date and not being here to get that man away sooner, and of course you shut him up with a kiss.

after dating for a while

you both obviously get more comfortable with your relationship and each other, getting touchy even if people are in the room (usually just your friends). charlotte loves flirting with you jokingly, it used to get henry worked up and upset, but now he just laughs. your 'hangouts' have become much more common, and sometimes even a little much. and you both obviously get caught doing something once or twice, nothing more than kissing and few scandalous touches (yet) but all in all, it's made for a funny few inside jokes. your teachers learn to borderline despise you relationship, the pair of you have been caught in the janitors closet a few too many times.

but, after everything, he always promises to come back to you whenever he can. it's when he has to take his biggest trip as kid danger and for a few moments, no one knows if he's gonna come back. you make sure to show him your gratitude when he does

This definitely isn’t based on me stealing my dad’s flannels whenever I’d have to fly back home and be away from him for months at a time again, no siree

Whenever Felix is feeling overwhelmed or like he’s losing control and Hen isn’t around to calm him down again, Fe will go steal one of the flannels from his closet (although, he can’t really be sure if it’s Henry’s or Zack’s, but they both share, so guaranteed whichever one he grabs, Hen’s worn it at least once) and he’ll put it on, and it’s oversized and doesn’t fit and he has to bunch up the sleeves a bajillion times just to get his hands through, but that’s enough of a “connection” to calm him down until Hen comes back home again

This is a great example of why I think Ray has BPD. Henry is clearly his favorite person in the whole wide world by this point and he likes having him around. So Henry not being around for a few days has him feeling abandoned.

Because of the black and white thinking, if Henry’s not there, clearly it means that Henry doesn’t want to be around him anymore. Henry obviously hates him and is looking to leave his job forever and ever. This causes a split, feelings of hatred, thoughts of “he’s obviously lying and plotting against me.” So now, Ray has to catch him in the act of lying to him in what is one of the most impulsive things he has ever done, and that man lives on impulsive behavior, spying on a teenager.

Soon as Henry throws up on him, the split breaks. Henry is sick. He now has physical evidence of that and all he’s got to go off of emotionally is “whoops 🤷🏻”, because splits are exhausting.

I just rewatched sick & wired and holy SHIT I don't think there's a more insane example of Ray and Henry's dynamic being like. factually weird. because tell me WHY this man's first reaction upon Henry telling him he's too sick to go into work ( mind you he's been sick for MULTIPLE days ) is to throw something across the room, call henry a "rotten little mutt", and then install secret cameras in his house to spy on him 😭

I KNOW IT'S PLAYED FOR LAUGHS BECAUSE. it's Henry Danger. Like no shit it's insane but my jaw was genuinely DROPPED the whole episode .

TO TOP IT OFF, EVEN AFTER HENRY CONFRONTS HIM AND SAYS HE'S SICK, he proceeds to say ONCE AGAIN Henry is lying and that he'll just forgive him if he fesses up like. what. he doesn't even apologize after Henry vomited all over him (y'know. proving Ray wrong)

AGAIN. maybe I'm the weird one but the whole episode felt strange because it like. didn't feel that comedic? Like obviously it was but Ray's anger with the whole situation felt genuine to me and that gave it a certain tone of realism. Man, I don't remember Henry and Ray having this strange of a dynamic 😭

henry danger ( kinda leaks into df sorry lol ) :

- ray is a trans man . captain man says trans rights fr .

- schwoz is trans too . he’s weird enough i don’t think i need to put him through more shit through future hcs ( affectionate ) .

- henry does NOT become a complete asshole in dystopia . i’ve seen one too many fics showing he does and he did not spend his entire childhood being somewhat of a moral compass to do a complete 180 . he is a dork who says he’s in a band but immediately backtracks because he knows lying is pointless and giggles when complimented , all in canon .

- charlotte , robot enhancements and all her glorious self , doesn’t become president , but becomes a prosecutor of the law instead . after her gap year in dystopia , she realized how corrupt the system is everywhere , not only in swellview . she is now studying criminal justice in harvard :}

- jasper has a major glow up . not a hc just a fact . he also learned to fight outside of sleeping so he could react faster without having to wait to be konked out by the gum .

- kris and jake hart do their own thing now , but are still married . they came to the conclusion that even though their kids are out of the house they would still eventually need a support system . by they i mean kris . they both also still love each other , but aren’t in love yk ?

- after graduating from uni and having felt success from her social media fame , piper moved back to swellview to help track down villains , and mika appreciates the extra help , because it turns out piper is actually really good at doxxing people . i will not elaborate . oh and also she scares ray so she got him to actually pay the df kids lmao .

danger force :

- mika is a bi trans girl . deal with it .

- chapa is nonbinary and still uses she / her . she’s also aromatic but is open to queer platonic relationships !

- miles is unlabeled . we love that for him , truly a king .

- chapa always carries a taser to she can get away with zapping people outside of fighting crime without raising suspicion .

- when miles first started randomly teleporting everywhere , he was overwhelmed by the constant change in everything that he had to teach himself how to calm down , and now he’s excellent at teaching and helping others calm down .

- after joining df , they would all train together , and one day while training , ray threw a ball at bose and he started lightly crying . he caught it , he just was happy crying because he never got to play the whole father - son catch cliché game .

- mika used to go out into the desert to practice her super screaming , but after a while she started fainting during the day , so now she trains in one of the many rooms in the man’s nest that has been renovated by schwoz to be soundproof .

- as much as ray misses his original kids , in one of his rarest mature moments , he realizes that he shouldn’t compare them . he also decides to be more careful with them than he was with henry , causing that whole “ no powers = no crime fighting “ situation in canon . he can’t risk losing more of his kids , especially so young .

- I LIED MORE SCHWOZ . when the df kids lost their powers , schwoz didn’t sleep until he came up with an antidote he thought would work based on the gas clown’s gas . when it didn’t work he was devastated , but he wouldn’t show the full extent of it . he knew it would effect the kids and he knew he could try again . the following days he spent in his lab , running on illegal caffeine , and eventually passed out from exhaustion . mika found him and put a blanket over him that miles made , having wanted to apologize for how unfair they were being towards him , because after all , he’s only human .
