So, as the name suggests, She's definetly a Frank Marwey big fan. She loves to make and post about Frank, even make her own Monster!Frank AU that I was interested to. Did you know that she has 2 Twitter/X account? One of her account is a NSFW account.

Now, before we talk about the NSFW part, let me say this. She ships Frank x Lawan and Frank x Aiden(I think now she ships her DL oc with Frank now, But I personally know that she still ship these ships)

Problem? Yes, Frank x Lawan has a BIG problem in it. In DL2 canon lore, Lawan met Frank when she was young and views him as her dad figure. Shiping her with Frank is sounds problematic and might be considered as p*dophilia. Their age gap are TOO BIG even they're both are adults plus, Frank is Lawan's father figure and Frank is old enough to be her dad.

How about Frank x Aiden problem? Same, their age gap is TOO BIG to be considered as a couple

But Aiden x Hakon- Their age gap is tolerable, plus their relationship isn't Father and Son alike duo so it's safe.

Ok back to her shipping problem and the ACTUAL problem that I wanted to talk about, not just the problem of her shipping taste, but also she ever made a NSFW art of them. Do I have a problem? Yes, she ever post a NSFW of Frank x Lawan.

Unfortunately, the posts about that I mentioned are deleted. Maybe because there's someone who called her out before I did back then. Yet she still ships them.

In this case, yes, she's indeed problematic. Yet we must give her a chance to change herself into a better person. I believe that soon she realizes her mistakes and trying her best to change into a better person. We must stay mature of what's happening in this fandom problem.

Do you sell versions of your embroidery designs? I'm obsessed with your Solas patterns and would love to try them!

So, short answer is yes, while the first digital mockups I made were designed just for my own reference and as color guides for transferring the designs painstakingly by hand, I ended up going back to them and turning them all into digital vectors. This means they can be printed onto transfer paper or directly onto stabilized fabric for stitching, which is MUCH easier than drawing by hand. Lots of people asked me if I could sell the designs so I figured this part out and was able to test it myself--the tower embroidery was an example of printing the vector directly onto the fabric and worked out great!

Long answer is after I did that, I uh, never figured out how or where to list them for sale online. Or what all to include with them--like what level of written instruction to include, should i also make notes on the thread colors I picked, should I include my colored-in-versions as color guides or just let everyone free-for-all it, in the case of the Tower embroidery i also hand-dyed a lot of grey thread that was crucial for it coming out how i wanted it to look--is it deceptive to sell a pattern when other people can't necessarily recreate it the same way because of that? Should I list in general the dye instructions if they wanna recreate it, or for people who want some of my extra thread or for people who don't have an inkjet printer so can't print the design onto the fabric themselves, should i think about selling full "embroidery kits" that include the printed pattern sized for a display hoop and the thread needed? etc etc etc

Anyway that was all a lot of thinking and work to do, so i put it off!!! and uh here we are 2 years later and I have still not posted them anywhere. I really gotta get around to all that still...

But in the meanwhile, if anyone reading would like a pattern, just let me know directly what you're looking for and I can save the versions of the files as needed for your plans and send them over. like for a digital only version (so no threads or me printing for you) i would probably make a zip file with a transparent png of the design (so you can put it in a word doc to print at whatever size you desire), as well as a pdf with a few copies of it already pre-sized for a display hoop for ease of printing or transfer, the colored-in version i used based on the tarot cards, photos of my finished versions, etc (note to self i must remember to include the design both normal for direct printing and horizontally flipped for anyone who plans to use transfer paper for it since those are mirrored...). Oh and a quick explanation of how i managed to get my fabric through a standard printer if you wanna try that.

But yeah i'm happy to work out something with kofi or paypal or venmo and sell the digital ones for like $20 each or something for now, if you don't mind not having written step-by-step instructions accompanying the patterns and example photos. Or if anyone has suggestions on where to host them for sale, for someone not interested in maintaining a dedicated storefront like etsy or storenvy long term. Maybe Gumroad? If i stuck to digital-only sales something like that might work. I'm open to input for sure. If you want something more than digital like a pre-printed fabric (since it's kind of weird to do yourself), I'm still open to trying, it just would be a little more $ to account for the fabric/stabilizer and cost of shipping, and probably take me a few more days to do.

But regardless, thank you for your interest at all!! I'm so glad people have enjoyed my embroidery series :) While I'd love to make lots of copies to sell to whoever wants one, I simply don't have the time, and they are SO labor intensive to make it really is like 80-90% of the cost is manhours. I spend anywhere from 5-15 hours making the patterns and vectors, but the stitching and rest of it itself is easily the bulk at 40-100 hours depending on complexity and number of threads used. So WAY more feasible to sell the patterns than make more to sell myself, and then anyone willing to put in the time can have one too :)

Lady Whistledown.... OK on the parenting front. We all need to step into Narnia for a moment and forget he ever did cameos. Everything we know simply exists in the 911 universe as Canon. So you must understand that in this universe (thanks to Lous head canons he was paid for) he lost his mother at a young age and his father was a bully he ran from. And also the bachelor party was a way of showing Tommy as the mature one and carefully crafted to show that Eddie and Buck are just like play mates.

Tommy because he lost said mother so young will be the one to identify with Christopher and coax the young boy home. And if Christopher runs again because Eddie does something terrible. Well, our savior, Tommy will be the one to think you know maybe he went to Shannon's grave stone. He shall arrive and talk to the boy again. Because see clearly Buck and Eddie do not have the emotional capacity to accomplish this.

Also yes secretly Eddie is probably a little mad and jealous of Buck. You see, he did not realize when Tommy was courting him it was actually and option he could say yes, and now Buck stole him. But never fear Tommy will confess to Buck he was like 50th choice and because Buck loves Eddie so much he accepts being Eddies second choice to keep his family..

And your question on them realizing? Yes, after the hospital kiss, we were supposed to get more friend time of Eddie and Tommy. Tommy and Chris. All four at dinner together bonding. We got literally 2 scenes! Also, yes, they desperately wanted that dinner scene to contain the word boyfriend or love confession, so they didn't have to worry all summer.

Also deeply disappointed that the Hen Karen and Tommy scene was cut because that is probably where Hen on screen declares for the GA stop being mad at Tommy. See, I'm black and queer and my beautiful smart wife even loves Tommy. When I said "finally " to Karen, it was about both Tommy and Buck!!! Duh!!!!

So hopefully, that explains the "Christopher had three dads" PR department.

But also, when they were really, really mad at us, because we were so evil smart we were able to hack Lous personal Twitter and set him up as a racist. Maybe they should find a way of making sure they unmask us like the Scooby Doo villains we are to Oliver. Then Oliver would understand how toxic we really are.

But stepping out of Narnia. My impression on the Eddie front is that it's turning desperate in ways to make Tommy more relevant than he actually is to the story because it's the only way to get him more screen time than Karen. We all know that's never happening. They can't stand he will only exist in scenes with Buck if back and not on the forefront of the firefam. A family he definitely isn't a part of.

And Tommy has possible threads that the show deliberately didn't pick because, hello, hello, he is not part of the family. God, I'm BEGGING for the show to give us something that explicitly contradicts as many of Lou's cameos as possible. (Does anyone have a bullet points list of those, because I legit lost track and I'm curious)

I maintain what I said when the hacking drama was happening tho, as your local buddie shipper computer scientist, I speak for all of us that if we were going to hack something, it would be the abc servers to get the karaoke scene. And, also, being a bad person never made a love interest leave the show, why would anyone bother making him look bad?

I'm still giggling at the Tommy/Eddie of it all. Like, if Tommy wanted Eddie and Eddie wanted Tommy and Buck is just a means to an end, and Tommy is a better parent, then what's the purpose of Buck in their heads? Does he just look pretty and gets fucked? This is madness. MADNESS.

Hello! I've seen some posts talk about JC's inferiority complex in MDZS, and there were a few things that kinda puzzled me a bit. The first was talking about how JC treated demonic cultivators post-WWX's death. That him hunting them down and capturing them were just (BS) rumors? That the original Mandarin wording in them implied he didn't really do anything that bad to those he captured? As in, no actual torture? (That he was all bark and no bite, apparently.) Even looking at when JC finally captures WWX, they spun the event to be something like "wow, yes, JC is so great at torturing people! look at him, using just a little dog to scare WWX instead of doing anything else!" What did the novel really say about all that? The other matter was more specific, to ch. 73? When JC and WWX stage their fight and then WWX's defection from the Jiang Sect. How JC then declares WWX as an enemy of the cultivation world? Did he really say something like that in the novel? What were JC and WWX's plans for their stated fight? Did JC follow those plans, or go awry? If the latter, what did he do?

These posts, in my eyes, seem to almost want to make JC look like he really wasn't as bad of a person. That his actions (in regards to WWX) weren't /that/ harmful. Almost of if the rumors in the book (and maybe in the "fandom" too), painted him much worse than he really is. Which, of course all JC stans want to make their "little purple grape" seem like he's so innocent and that even his bad behaviors actually weren't all that bad when you really look at them. (Here's me rolling my eyes.) I'm not a fan of JC, at all; I hate him, actually, lol. But the things these posts mentioned kinda make me pause. Yet given my bias against him, and my terrible memory, I couldn't really recall what truly happened in the novel.

Anon, whoever is saying any of this is just lying. Jc stans lose the battle with canon every time, so they start making up shit to make it seem like Jiang Cheng is actually a good person according to some super secret text only they have access to. Many times, they will even resort to gaslighting, such as with this example. Of all the mxtx novels, mdzs is the most translated by a variety of independent translators on top of the official, and they all say the same thing (with the exception of the official, which is another topic of discussion). You do not need to understand the original Mandarin to know the story, because every translation says the same exact thing. But if you want, we can still go through each point:

1) “Jiang Cheng doesn’t torture people! It’s all rumors!” and 2) “Jiang Cheng only goes after bad people like demonic cultivators!”

Debunked (go to the very last response in the thread): everyone around Jiang Cheng, even Jiang Cheng his damn self, acknowledges that Jiang Cheng kidnaps people to torture to death (because people seem to forget he’s a serial killer when discussing the torture). He also does not go after “demonic cultivators” at all. If he did, he would have sided with Nie Mingjue against the Jin on the Xue Yang situation. He does not. He only attacks people who remind him of Wei Wuxian or are surnamed Wen:

The owner, “No, no. It was his misfortune. The person’s surname was Wen, and that Sect Leader Jiang’s archenemy happened to have the surname of Wen as well. He’s hating on everyone in this world whose surname is Wen. Whenever he sees one, he’d grind his teeth in hatred, wanting to skin them alive. How could he give a single friendly look to...”

3) “Jiang Cheng doesn’t torture Wei Wuxian!”

Debunked: locking someone in a room with something that makes them go blackout with terror counts as torture. Some people liking dogs does not mean that cynophobia isn’t real, and downplaying people’s actual phobias makes you a shit person. Also, Fairy isn’t a “little dog,” she is (apparently according to interviews) a Husky, and her presence is what Jiang Cheng uses to confirm “Mo Xuanyu” is actually Wei Wuxian before he brings her in specifically to torture him. Because once again, he knows how terrified Wei Wuxian is of dogs.

4) What happened during the defection?

Honestly, it would probably be best if you just reread Chapt. 73 because the lead-up to the defection is long and starts at Wei Wuxian having to prevent Jiang Cheng from potentially kicking A-Yuan, Jiang Cheng attempting to re-murderer Wen Ning, then him telling Wei Wuxian to return the Wen to the labor camps because he doesn’t care about fulfilling life debts if it gives him a bad reputation amongst the other sects. This quote is the end of all that convo:

Wei WuXian, “There’s no need to protect me. Just let go.”

Jiang Cheng’s face twisted.

Wei WuXian, “Just let go. Tell the world that I defected. From now on, no matter what Wei WuXian does, it’d have nothing to do with the YunmengJiang Sect.”

Jiang Cheng, “... All for the Wen Sect...? Wei WuXian, do you have a savior complex? Is it that you’ll die if you don’t stand up for someone and stir up some trouble?”

Wei WuXian stayed quiet. A while later, he answered, “So that’s why we should cut ties right now, in case anything I do affects the YunmengJiang Sect in the future.”

Or else, he really couldn’t make any guarantees on what he’d do in the future.

“...” Jiang Cheng murmured, “My mom said that you do nothing but bring our sect trouble. It’s true indeed.” He laughed coldly, talking to himself, “‘To attempt the impossible’? Fine. You understand the YunmengJiang Sect’s motto. Better than I do. Better than all of us do.”

He sheathed Sandu. The sword returned to its sheath with a clang. Jiang Cheng’s tone was indifferent, “Then let’s arrange for a duel.”

Three days later, the leader of the YunmengJiang Sect, Jiang Cheng, arranged for a duel with Wei WuXian.

They fought quite a fight in Yiling. Negotiations failed. Both resorted to violence.

Under Wei WuXian’s command, the fierce corpse Wen Ning struck Jiang Cheng once, breaking one of his arms. Jiang Cheng stabbed Wei WuXian once. Both sides suffered losses. Each spat out a mouthful of blood and left cursing the other. They had finally fallen out with each other.

After the fight, Jiang Cheng told the outside that Wei WuXian defected from the sect and was an enemy to the entire cultivation world. The YunmengJiang Sect had already cast him out. From then on, no ties remained between them —a clear line was drawn. Henceforth, no matter what he did, they’d have nothing to do with the YunmengJiang Sect!

Notice how Wei Wuxian says tell the other clans he defected, and Jiang Cheng changes the statement to "let's arrange a duel." Also, keep in mind that everything after that conversation in the narrative reads like someone telling a legend: "They fought quite a fight. Negotiations failed. Both resorted to violence." The narration is depicting the duel the same way it depicted the opening prologue of Wei Wuxian's death: this is what the world was told about the defection battle after the fact, not necessarily the truth. Why do we know this isn't the truth? Well, Jiang Cheng had his non-dominant arm broken to make the battle seem real but also not to hamper his work too much:

Wei WuXian grinned, “How could it seem realistic if it wasn’t hard enough? It was your left hand anyways. It didn’t hinder you from writing. It takes a hundred days to heal a wound to the bone. It wouldn’t be too much even if you hung it up for three months.”

Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian was gutted, something the legend does not mention at all:

Although he was stabbed in the stomach by Jiang Cheng, Wei WuXian wasn’t concerned at all. He stuffed his intestines back into himself and like nothing ever happened, he even got Wen Ning to hunt down a few malign spirits as he bought a few large bags of potatoes.

Keeping in mind that Jiang Cheng still has a golden core, Wei Wuxian seemed to have put a lot of thought into how to injure Jiang Cheng in such a way that seemed serious but was actually superficial. Wei Wuxian treated the duel like it was staged. Jiang Cheng treated it like it was real and tried to kill Wei Wuxian. The only thing I'll give Jiang Cheng is that his "declaration" wasn't what damned Wei Wuxian; him refusing to stand by Wei Wuxian rescuing the Wen is what damned Wei Wuxian. The declaration was only the official statement that he had cut ties and everyone else could do what they wanted to his former shixiong.

So in short: stop letting jc stans gaslight you just because they're loud and repeat the same lies over and over again with confidence.

Not a single sound could be heard from the room next door, implying that she was working intensely.

(I hope I haven’t made her worry too much.)

A few days ago, I confided my past to Mai.

A few hours after Kicho left the trading post with his men, Mai, who was busy sewing on her own, got a visitor.

Sasuke: "Hello, miss. Thank you for your patronage."

Mai: "No, not at all."

Mai: "Thank you for coming at just the right time. I really need it."

While talking casually, Mai listened for any noises on the other side of the door and signaled Sasuke with her fingers as soon as the footsteps moved away.

Sasuke: "Mai, it's been a few weeks."

Mai: "Yeah. How have you been?"

Sasuke: "As you can see. No matter what kind of mission I'm on, my health comes first, so I pay attention to that."

Sasuke: "Proper sleep, diet, exercise, and metal spikes are crucial."

Mai: "Does the last one have anything to do with health?"

Sasuke: "Of course, just having these things makes a huge difference in how I feel. How about you?"

Mai: "Hehe, I'm okay."

Mai: "By the way, the fact that you came like this today means..."

Sasuke: “Just as you expect. I have a message from Mitsuhide for you.”

Sasuke: “This may sound personal, but I’m grateful I got to talk to Mitsuhide Akechi in person. So don’t worry about it.”

Sasuke's eyes sparkled so brightly that anyone could tell he meant what he said.

Sasuke: “There are almost no skirmishes happening, and Japan is eerily quiet right now.”

Mai: “That can’t be a good thing, right?”

Mai: “Is someone else behind it?”

Sasuke: “Yeah. Something’s going on.”

Sasuke: “It looks like the Oda forces intend to capture Kicho before he can attack them.”

Mai: “Capture!?”

Mai's complexion suddenly turned pale.

Sasuke: “Mai, are you okay?”

She nodded to Sasuke, who looked at her with concern, pretending nothing was wrong.

Sasuke: “Anyway, you’ll be in danger if you stay here.”

Sasuke: “We don’t know what might happen, and he might take you as a hostage.”

Sasuke: "They'll execute the plan tomorrow night, so you need to escape with Mitsuhide."

Mai: "Tomorrow? That's just too sudden."

Sasuke: "Yeah, but it's much better than taking our time to make a plan."

Motonari: “But you’re right. We should have had that thing if we’re going to stock that many.”

Kicho: “What are you talking about?”

Motonari: “Air transportation. Well, I’m sure a ship can carry more than a plane can.”

Motonari: “Or is there some other way to get around in this world that I don’t know about?”

Kicho: “There is no point explaining it to you. In any case, it’s not possible in this era.”

Motonari: “This era, huh?”

Kicho: “Why are you suddenly saying this? You weren’t interested before.”

Motonari: “Yeah, not one bit.”

Motonari: “You’re always talking nonsense like you’ve really seen it with your own eyes, but...”

Pausing briefly, Motonari lit the cigar he had taken out.

As the tip of the cigar lit up with the same color as his eyes, a thin wisp of smoke rose.

As I entered the room, Mai, wearing the dress I gave her, turned around.

The dress was elegantly colored in white, with plenty of fabric to make the hem flow softly.

It was both lovely and mature, which complimented her charm.

I spoke up, almost fawning over her.

Kicho: “How is it?”

Mai: “You look really cool.”

Mai: “The colors are perfect for you. It’s really nice.”

Kicho: “I was asking about your dress. It looks like I didn't say it properly.”

Mai: “What?”

Kicho: “First of all, let me thank you. I guess you went out of your way to prepare this for me, even though you have other work to do.”

Kicho: “I could tell how good you are when I put the sleeves on. You’re very meticulous in your work.”

Mai: “Thank you. I’m glad to hear you say so.”

She gently smiled and blushed.

Mai: “Right. Let me thank you too.”

Mai: “Thank you for the beautiful dress. It fits me perfectly and is very comfortable.”

Kicho: “I’m glad you like it. Now, let’s move on to the finishing touches.”

Mai: “Huh? Finishing touches?”

I put the box I brought from my room on the table containing some cosmetic stuff.

Kicho: “Sit on the chair over there.”

Mai: “O-Okay.”

Looking at Mai, I took out the rouge and white powder one by one and carefully placed them on her soft skin.

Mai: “You know how to put on makeup?”

Kicho: “Yes, my sister taught me.”

Kicho: “Not only makeup but also how to dress, behave, and everything else so that I can live as a woman.”

Mai: “Your sister really cared about you.”

My first book of the year (well, almost, 50 pages to go!) has been Doppelganger by Naomi Klein, which is an absolutely amazing book about the way people get radicalized by alt-right grifters and how that radicalization is fueled subconsciously by very real fear, pain and paranoia fostered on regular people by our system of savage, predatory capitalism. They just don't know where to direct that fear to, so they end up in conspiracy anti-vaxx circles rather than becoming leftists.

I heartily recommend it to anyone. If you've read anything by Klein, you'll love it. She's a masterful writer and she addresses our current issues with incredible insight and in a thoroughly entertaining way. A solid 4.5/5 stars (and that's high praise, I hardly ever give 5 stars to anything). I'm putting the rest of this under a readmore because I need you guys to understand that I honestly really recommend this book:

That being said, I have one complaint:

And it's the way Klein is, not dismissive, just subconsciously doesn't realize or give enough importance to feminism to analyze the issues she's talking about through a feminist lenses. She talks about feminism and about abortion rights and about sexual violence and about women's issues and gender issues but it's all through the lenses of class and not feminism.

For example, she mentions people being marginalized, among other characteristics "because of their gender expression". Trans people are marginalized because of their gender expression, so are some gay people. Women though are marginalized BY gender. Gender expression is (one of) the means, not the motive.

More damningly, in this book she mentions Naomi Wolf a lot (hence the title). Author of The Beauty Myth, now turned conspiracy right-wing, COVID denialist, anti-vaxx grifter. About Wolf's book, Klein claims that she was engaged in conspirational thinking when she claimed that marketing agencies where purposefully keeping women insecure and down so that we were thinking about our bodies and not our power. According to Klein, that's just how capitalism works. And yes, it is but you, Naomi Klein, also go on to claim several paragraphs later that capitalism does indeed function as a conspiracy. And also, the way women and men are marketed to differently, for us emphasizing our powerlessness; for men, their power, is not just a quirk of capitalism. It's a gendered issue. It's MISOGYNY. It's not conspiratorial thinking to watch how misogyny works and how it affects women. It's just watching reality through feminist lenses. Yes, Wolf did wrong in her book by not acknowledging capitalism much, but Klein not acknowledging the misogyny/patriarchy aspect of it (and dismissing the idea as just Naomi Wolf being crazy again, lol) is not much better (and is misogynistic in and of itself). Both of their analyses are tables standing only on two legs.

The next part is just... absolutely bizarre but it really jumped out at me, and it's really an example about what non-feminist sexual "liberation" politics do your brain, even when you're Naomi fucking Klein. When talking about people feeling disempowered and helpless in the face of injustice, oligarchies and reckless capitalism, she goes: "Knowing that this kind of unmasked plutocracy can take root in democratic societies without so much as an effort to hide it is like being forced to watch your spouse cheat on you when that is not your kink"

Like hello, WHAT. What is the need? Why is that disclaimer there? Is this a Twitter thread about problematic shipping? Is this Klein revealing her own kinks? (No one asked!). She's a damn good writer, she knows what sentences are impactful and hit. She KNOWS that putting that disclaimer there at the end inherently makes the statement less impactful. Why would you add it? I cannot wrap my head around it.

Finally, there's the way she off-handedly mentions how her partner was campaigning for a political party and how she took him to look into the way even left wing people were being drawn into conspiracies and how to appeal to them. And the guy just, dismissed her. Like, imagine that, you're THE Naomi Klein, one of the best investigative journalist there are and your partner of however many years dismisses your advice about an issue you have been investigating for years when you're over 20 years into your career producing hit after hit of investigative journalism and books. Just like that. Eventually, he listens to her because he runs into some nut jobs, but like, hello? I wouldn't have put that in the book for the sheer humiliation of it (unless that is your kink, I guess 😭) but a feminist writer MIGHT have had something to say about how this is an example of men never taking women seriously, no matter how much expertise they have.

It's just... Tiny things like this, or not analyzing through a feminist lenses why women so easily fall into wellness conspiracies, or why the cancellation of Wolf which led her to her current grift (which Klein acknowledges) was also made worse because mobs rising up against women online are ALWAYS worse, that let me know that feminism is just not a lenses through which she was analyzing these issues at all. And it's very subtle throughout the book but very much There if you're like me who's a feminist first and foremost. And it's disappointing.

The book is still very much great and I do recommend it though.

bc like. i was there thinking abt worst case scenarios and how none of my new encounters since route 4 (darumaka, yamask, minccino, gothita, cottonee) seemed to leave me with any better options than what i had before aka. myyr the drilbur that cant even evolve for the level cap and just pray i hit those 1hkos on dig and that rock slide (better known as rock miss in some circles) hits emolga and that static and paralysis doesnt fuck me over. but then its like. even putting aside how i Dont want to lose this mon bc excadrill is so good. if myyr falls the answers i would have left against whichever elesas pokemon remained were still ehhh like. zip the herdier with eviolite and dig?? and emolga remains a problem still.

so yeah i was stressed tf out bc. bitch i remember elesa terrorizing me as a kid and that zebstrika never stopped being scary as hell. so i ended up just. looking up if theres maybe some well known and used nuzlocke strat there and. Well. not exactly but an ancient reddit thread had a comment w an Interesting suggestion

So. turns out theres an NPC on route 4 in black 2 that trades a cottonee for a petilil. a mon whose (stone) evolution . Happens to learn a very funny silly move . called quiver dance . within elesas level caps.

.....and im just. hey why the fuck not. so bye bye peony the cottonee it is. hello petulia the petilil (based NPC nickname btw thats so cute) who learns giga drain at lvl 26 and then with sun stone becomes lilligant who gets quiver dance at 28.

atk reducing spd boosting nature and THIRTY-ONE IVs in special atk 💀💀💀 on a quiver dancer??????????? this is a weapon of mass destruction holy Shit. (her speed stat aint half bad either!!!!!)

anyway i was still getting stressed abt it bc like. chances were in the actual fight if i lead w lilligant elesas emolga will just volt switch straight to zebstrika who has flame charge so i. unironically went to relic castle to get enough defense EVs to survive 3 flame charges if necessary too JSJSJSKSKDKSK and bc i didnt know (and did not look up at first) the IVs her team would have i just assumed worst case scenario aka all 31s meaning the initial damage calcs looked Way scarier

bc the way i was looking at this was just. ill obviously have to lead w lilligant (bc a sweeper needs to setup 1 to 2 qdances depending on how many turns i get before zebstrika is in) and have myyr who was originally meant to be the Star against elesa be more the. emolga cleanup crew and/or emergency hidden ace. And bc i actually fucking planned this shit all out so it Could Not Fail (or close to it)

scenario 1: emolga wastes a turn on like. pursuit before volt switching zebstrika in. i get 2 quiver dances up and just win (+2 boosted SpA giga drain from lvl 30 lilligant w miracle seed is just a 1hko every time. Yes i calced it). Almost unfairly easy

scenario 2: emolga volt switches immediately (most likely) and i only get one quiver dance. this means giga drain is 2hko against zebstrika. i will outspeed on the next turn bc petulia at +1 and then i take a flame charge (leaving me outsped w zebstrika at +1 speed). and whats scary is that while i would survive a crit flame charge on that turn (non crits are ez). i Would die to the second one afterward bc zebstrika is faster again. so then itd have to be like. myyr to the rescue. alternatively my giga drain Could high roll the dmg & get zebstrika into hyper potion range which means free quiver dance turn as elesa heals and we outspeed and win again.

but like. okay. these odds are acceptable. best case scenario petulia sweep worst case scenario petulia gets crit and myyr just needs to clean up a fairly scary +2 speed zebstrika thats Luckily below 50% hp. im also still giving zip the eviolite and teaching it dig so we have a 3rd hail mary in the back.

Anyway then i look up the actual in game IVs for bw2 gym leaders and in non-challenge mode theyre all set at 12 💀💀💀💀💀 so like. Scratch all this with the new IVs a +1 boosted giga drain is actually a roll for a 1hko not a guaranteed 2hko KSKSKAJEKSKSKDKEK which means even if i dont 1shot with just one quiver dance elesa Will heal and thats +2 boost.

so yeah i walk in to the gym slightly relieved slightly embarrassed of yet nonetheless taking some pride in my first foray to Proper big nuzlocker strategy planning and looking up damage strats (might be needing those in the future fr) . even if it was due to making way too scary assumptions abt elesas team stats lmao

anyway the fight itself was uhhh. Truly anticlimactic. emolga did volt switch on first turn but petulias +1 giga drain just Casually rolled the 1hko on zebstrika after all and then proceeded to eviscerate flaaffy and then i let myyr handle emolga just for some exp 💀💀💀

Granted kind of unexpected and extreme circumstances, but still, lemons to lemonade if you will. Im not feeling eager for the draw next month..

Honestly it will be interesting now to see/follow any Liz activity while she hits the offseason as college ball starts up soon. Curious to see if any crumbs or reactions come up at all. I really like the Valks HC choice. She's been very effective with the LVAces and I expect that to continue. Same with the recent news we go today of Tyler Marsh with the Sky. I think LVAces coaching staff in general is so strong and them branching off is good for the league and both the Valks and the Sky with these coaches and a little bit of time for player development should eventually be really good. Ultimately the lawsuit is a front office issue and I don't think these two had much to do with it and so until I see issues in their new respective teams, I don't think we can hold it against them.

LIBERTYYYYYYY. So happy for them and of course props to the Lynx. And honestly thank you to both teams for giving us what I think, despite that one foul, is the greatest W finals we've ever had.

Things I Liked:

basically every moment where we got to see Will. I was laughing at so many things that Will said and I missed having that, since I will never get enough of Will's humor.

Seeing Jesse interact with the Merry Thieves. It made me so happy and I love seeing Jesse's dry humor mixed in with the Merry Thieves; he fits in with them so well.

Just human Jesse in general. Everything about him made me so happy. He was so kind and brave and quite funny.

Getting to see more of Anna/Ari. During the first book we got almost nothing of them, partially because of Ari being poisoned but also because Anna was kind of not in the main circle yet.

Christopher visiting Grace and them getting to know each other. It made me so happy that there was someone who could see past what Grace had done and could give her a second chance, and their bond over science was so sweet.

Thomastair. That's it. No explanation needed.

Ghostwriter I thought was pretty well done, but the whole "them kissing would cause Lucie to see demon stuff" was kind of unnecessary.

Things I didn't like:

The whole love triangle. I still don't think that Matthew truly loved Cordelia and i never believed it would be an actual love triangle

the fact that the truth about the bracelet had to be kept secret for so long. it felt kind of unnecessary. there were other ways to draw out the plot than that.

the fact that tatiana exists

Kit's death. I feel like it's so unfair that of all people, he's the one to die. it didn't feel well written, it felt like it had to happen bc she couldn't kill the queer characters and Kit was the only main character left that she COULD kill.

Grace's entire plot being kind of left without an ending.

The lack of mourning/a funeral for kit. (since we didnt get enough mourning, i think im going to write it bc i want to suffer for the purpose of completing the loose ends)

the pacing. the entire plot felt so oddly paced, and it wasn't as much of a mystery like choi or chog.

again, why christopher? i feel like matthew would've been a better choice, or perhaps sona.

magnus kind of getting written out so early

though i love our gay couples and their accepting families, it is a little bit unrealistic. i get that the point is that this particular batch of the families are very kind people in comparison to what their families become a little farther down the road(ie Robert, maryse, etc), but it still feels a little bit unrealistic.

i felt like the whole lucie and cordelia struggling with their friendship thing was a little bit too much to add into this already very full book. (although i loved the wicked cordelia reveal that was fun)

i feel like we didn't fully get the wrap up at the end that we needed. we didn't see enough of them after the battle, as they came to terms with their losses and their wins and how they would continue their lives.

also we never really got to see jesse meeting his cousins/aunts and uncles and i wish we'd gotten that.

Questions I still have:

bridget? whats going on with her? theres a throwaway line in the coda mentioning something is odd abt her, but thats it??

grace. what is going to happen to grace? i wish we could perhaps see her and figure out if she's alright.

Tony..is loved.

Set after Civil War with a prompt i read on Pinterest hope you like it.

Tony was the one alone.

A thought that kept Steve Rogers awake, was one of the major reasons why he left that message on the flip phone. He always felt the need to include Tony more in every team activity in the past; locked up in his lab, working on something or the other which he loved flaunting about to others, but for Steve that was a reflection of his entitlement. But the more he knew him the more he understood the lonely mechanic, the more he spent time with him the more he saw a man in need of affection.

He tried to give him that but Tony never trusted him enough mostly because there was a big gap cause of the attention that Steve got for waking up from the ice at least that's what he thought was the reason. But later he came to know from Natasha about Harward being more obsessed with THE Captain America than worrying about his own child and maybe his coming back triggered some memories, but at heart, Steve still believed that Tony was over that and he just kept his distance from everyone.

And the return of Bucky made this distance worse, Steve fought for what he believed and knew was the right thing but, in the process, he lost the thread of the relationship he had with Tony.

Bucky made Steve's life so much better, the connection with life was back, but he knew how numb it felt not to have that connection and he felt guilty and sympathetic for Stark, he was the one alone. Might have fought with people, he knew Stark went home alone that night. Maybe Tony is surrounded by people with cameras but Steve knows that Stark has a life behind the camera's that is worrying.

These feelings burdened today,

When he was going to the Stark Tower.

To meet him.

People told him that Stark shifted his daily routine to just one floor, no surprises there. So, Steve was nervous to see the state he would find him in because there were times when he found Stark sleeping on paperwork in the basement with five coffee cups.

Walking in as the air hit him, also hit the moments he spent in there.

As he took a lift and it went down his heartbeat went up, and his little phone call...did it even mean anything? Was it even helpful? Will Tony even consider him his friend to ask for help?

Stepped out and lifted an eyebrow...because he was met by a soft smell of baked cookies. Move along, he thought. And then was met by a small cat who had attitude might we add. But that made sure the cat belonged to Tony Stark,

"Um.. hello is any-?"

"Yes! Rogers!" came the Colonel James, or Rodey. He was walking with a limb Steve hit the guilt train very quickly. "Come with me." Rodey commanded, and Steve marched right behind. They walked past something that took Steve's attention and Rodey answered with an eye roll, "Yeah THAT is a wheelchair but I don't need it anymore tony bought it to tease me."

"Sounds like Mr. Stark." a small voice snickered.

"Oh uh..Hello," Captain smiled at the small boy who apparently was Spider-Man...so awkward.

Peter's eyes went wide "Mr. Captain.. Captain..uh Sir? ..."

"Just Cap is fine."

"Yes Sir! Captain Sir!" he threw a salute and marched off. Steve turned to Rodey "Something is fundamentally wrong with that one.." the man whispered shaking his head.

"Alright, Steve wait here let me get those papers for you, uh grab something from the kitchen if you want."

"No thank you, James."

So Captain stood there and got the time to look around for a bit, he saw some books on the countertop, but they weren't that complicated then he saw little doodles on the textbook and named 'Peter B. Parker.' he understood who belonged to,

He looked at the small photo frame in which Tony was standing with Happy smiling and pointing at Peper who rolled her eyes, he assumed it was an old one of them. He looked around more and found small pieces of notes left behind by Pepper.. Some with 'Enough with the Coffee TONY!' and others just 'Tony you have a meeting and yes you are late.' one also said 'Happy we are missing Doritos.' He smiled at that..he remembered that nickname.

Then he could see a small transparent box with glasses which he recognized were Bruce's and he also saw some stickers on the refrigerator with timetables and dates, but these didn't look like just for the meetings..heck this timetable didn't look like for one person.

It looked like it was for a family, with due check-ups, picnic hours, laundry day, and chores day with everyone's name on each one.

His lips formed a smile that he didn't think he was going to have today, he turned around and was met with a small batch of baked cookies with an 'I know you liked them last time' note stuck on them.

Steve sighed.

He, after days, felt relaxed. Truly relaxed.

This place, this floor, wasn't for the tony he thought he knew, this home was for the tony he loved and admired.

His phone call was special but it didn't matter if Tony didn't turn to him for help. No, Stark had a home and place of affection now.

This is when Captain America sighed and realized,

finished main story 10 today and came here like i need to know what zak reptilianraven actualbird thinks about this!!! because everything drove me insane!!!

like I didn't REALIZE it was luke cause i thought it was like the episode opening cont. and not a different scene where the story actually starts. so when he showed up and started agent raven-ing i actually yelped in surprise. MY POOKIE IS HERE???

and I'm so happy that we actually got more of a glimpse into the guys' other activities!! i think the reason they isolated mc in ms9 is more to focus on her personal doubts and how those are playing into the story as we see in ms10 (all the talks with artem and her internal monologues like OHHHHH my sweet baby girl (not babygirl but baby girl iykwim). but i did enjoy seeing what everyone else was getting into while we were busy and shit.

(also no followup to the luke thing but everyone is busy. and im pretty sure rosa thinks it's a chronic illness that's gonna be with him forever not one that's gonna kill him in a few years)

the prank with artem??? celestine u big brain. the lift prank?? hilarious. his cn va did so good i laughed so hard at his voice trying to be scary.

artem and vyn doing Undercover Sneaky Guy Shit was so hot actually. like yes pretend to be a hot villain to the lady ur in love with and be Angry and Mean because they almost killed her :) hot.

although what we've learned about vyn this chapter is actually God Damn what the fuck did he do in his past life to not only be born to separated parents as a mixed child where one is Svartan Royalty and the other is like Stellis Mafia. no wonder he's like that. matthew richter was gorgeous i cannot imagine how stunning his mother is. i will Die once i see her.

marius didn't get as much of a focus but heheh. this is so good. delicious. yummy. More Vyn and Marius Rivalry material. he's so hot when he's being a boss but also he was so sweet and silly about sending us the info. marius 4lyfe i was obsessed with his every scene

all in all im glad that it doesn't seem to be the nxx actually being divided but the plot is getting thick and they're spreading out to deal with separate roots. teamwork <3

on the other boys’ activities: yesssss i adored this too. i love it in any main story chapter when we have like little scene breaks away from the main boy of the chapter to show what the others are up to cuz then those differing threads eventually come together to wrap themselves up again

on luke’s illness: NOW THAT U MENTION IT…..THAT MAKES SENSE, SHE PROBLY DOES THINK IT’S CHRONIC AND NOT TERMINAL. my memory is bad, but yeah im not sure if luke actually fessed that part of his diagnosis/prognosis, he just said he was sick. i think if she did know it was currently deemed to be terminal, she would be much much more worried about it

on the prank with artem: that entire elevator scene is seared into my brain with how hilarious it was. the cn va needs an award for that. he was so good at acting like he was bad at acting jkhVKJAHVFKAJHF

on artem and vyn sneaky guy shit: as disturbing as The Sauna and The Auction were, artem and vyn were—and i cannot stress this enough—SO COOL IN THEIR ACTING. the oscar award goes to them. my favorite bit in the sauna scene was when vyn told mc to threaten him like HOO BOY he knows how to stage a SCENE

on marius being so hot being a boss: marius is indeed so hot when being a boss

on the nxx schism (?): yeah yeah i also got that vibe too!! from ms9’s sheer hostility, ms10 was much more relaxed, probably because none of the boys interacted with each other as much. but i also wonder if ms9’s intense hostility was caused in part because luke was the main partner for that, and he was going through a Pretty Tough And Frustrating Time. here, since there wasnt any interaction between the boys (even between vyn and artem, who were both at the auction. it was ogier who led mc to artem) there wasnt any scene for the prior hostility to play out. so right now, im unsure if this means that the nxx schism is still happening or that we simply didnt get a chance to see it again in action, so it’s got me very interested for how things will play out in the next story, especially now that marius Knows What He Knows

Miraculous AU - Chapter 20 - Connection

            Sunlight streamed into Rose’s room. She scrunched up her face and cracked open her eyes. She looked at the window with the curtains she left open. She rolled over and closed her eyes. She reached out for one of her many stuffed animals but paused when she grabbed one that was warm. She opened her eyes to see a white rabbit that sat with her plushies.

            “Oh, hello. Where did you come from?”

            The rabbit’s ears twitched. It lifted its head, then stood. It hopped over to Rose and sniffed her. She giggled as its whiskers tickled her. She smiled and patted its head.

            “You’re a little cutie, but where did you come from? Oh, are you one of those kwamis? Ladybug said hers was a ladybug before she knew it was a kwami.”

            The rabbit chattered its teeth. It transformed into a rabbit kwami and smiled. “I am indeed. I am Fluff, kwami of connection.”

            Rose sat up and bounced. “Am I going to be a holder?”

            “I would say so. If you want to, of course.”

            “Yes! I’d love to! I could be a hero just like my friends.”

            Fluff smiled and held out her hands. A pair of silver studded earrings appeared. Rose took them and put them on.

            “What can I do? What do I say?”

            “What you can do is small, but important. As connections, you have two powers and a Miraculous you can use with the horse. The first is Communication, which gives you the power of telepathy so you may communicate with anyone you choose. The second, your greater power, is Connection. With this power, you can see the threads that connect people.”

            Oh! Like the red thread of fate?”

            “Yup. Though the red threads are more for lovers. There will be other colors and they have a tendency to change.”

            “What are the other colors? What do they mean?”

            “Let’s see. So, there’s white for developing relationships, yellow for friendships, green for family, pink for admiration or budding love, red for love, purple for those in sexual relationships, and black for toxic relationships.”

            “Can the threads be more than one color?”

            “No. They can change color but are not more than one color.”

            “Do the threads ever break? Like, there one day, gone the next?”

            “Yes. This usually happens when the people end their relationship or if one should die. However, some threads do persist through death.”

            “Ok, last question, for now. Do the people have to be present to see the threads?”

            “Yes, at least for now. As you grow stronger, distance will not hide the threads.”

            “Got it. What about the Miraculous thing you mentioned?”

            “Ah, yes. The Miraculous can only be used with the horse. When activated, the freedom of the horse will grant you the ability to speak with countless people at once through telepathy. Language won’t be a barrier as everyone will understand you and people will get the message all at the same time. However, in using this, some mortals will lose their ability to communicate.”

            “What? Why?”

            “For every miracle, a price. You can’t get something for nothing.”

            “Oh. I see.”

            “Don’t worry about it. The horse hasn’t been activated just yet but will be soon.”

            “It will?”

            “That’s right. One of your friends, if I remember correctly. The angry red head.”

            “Alix? That’s awesome! We really will be a team of super friends. Oh! I need to get ready. I have errands to run today.”

            Rose jumped out of bed and got ready. She grabbed her phone and purse, then ran out into the living room. She looked around, and saw nobody was home. She checked down the hall in her stepfather’s room, but it was empty. She checked the time, and it was eight in the morning. She let out a sigh of relief and put her phone in her purse.

            Fluff joined Rose. “Are you ok?”

            “Huh? Oh, of course. Oh! What food do you like, Fluff?”

            “Bananas.”

            “Bananas? Not carrots?”

            “Carrots are ok, but bananas are delicious.”

            “Ok. Let’s get going.”

            “Would you like to run your errands as a hero?”

            Rose stopped. “That would be fun. May I?”

            “You may. All you have to say is ‘Fluff, hop to it,’ To de-transform, say ‘Fluff, rest.’”

            Rose nodded and put her purse down. “Fluff, hop to it.”

            Fluff disappeared into the earrings. The studs transformed to have a rabbit head around the studs that were now bright blue. The blue was segmented into five parts and Rose transformed.

            Rose’s dress changed into a blue and white ballet tutu. On the tutu, black designs of rabbits decorated it. Tights covered her legs that were blue around her thighs, light blue near her knees, then white the rest of the length. Blue ballet slippers with white puffballs on the tips covered her feet. Around her ankles were blue ribbons that flowed around her. Sleeves covered her arms that were the same colors as her tights. A blue and white neck covering shielded her neck. On her face, a white masquerade mask with a single blue diamond on it appeared. Lastly, a pair a rabbit ears adorned her head and a white parasol appeared on her back.

            Rose gasped and grinned. Tears welled in her eyes as she looked at herself. She dashed towards her room and looked at herself in her mirror. She cried when she saw herself. The transformation, the outfit, it felt like something from her fairytales. She squealed and ran out. She grabbed her purse and tightened the strap. She locked the door behind her and headed downstairs. She leapt down the stairs with ease as she raced through the lobby into the morning light. Some people stopped to gawk at her while she bounced side to side.

            Rose winked to some people that took their cameras out, then leapt into the air. She gasped as she launched herself sky high. She laughed as she landed on a rooftop. She ran along the rooftops but felt no faster than usual. She paused, then smiled. She jumped from the buildings and moved faster than Louve. She grinned as she twirled and danced in the air.

            This was like living out a fairytale. Rose was a princess that was blessed by a fairy. With this blessing, she could be free to do as she wished. She could help her people against the evil sorcerer who plagued them. With her fellow warrior friends, they would keep the city safe. She got her initial quest finished as she retrieved the food for their kwamis. She considered what her next quest was, then headed towards Juleka’s home.

            “Juleka! Where are you?”

            Rose turned the corner, and was cut off by Luka. His eyes widened and he took a step back. She tilted her head as she looked at him. He had dark circles under his eyes that made them look sunken in. His skin was pale and his hair a frazzled mess.

            “Luka, are you ok? You don’t look very well.”

            “Is that really you, Rose?”

            “Yup! Aren’t I cute?” Rose twirled as she asked.

            “I guess? But-.”

            Rose pushed past Luka into the living room. She beamed when she saw Juleka who stood with Anarka. Rose dashed and leapt at Juleka.

            “Jule! My Queen!” Rose crashed into Juleka. She hugged Juleka as they tumbled.

            Juleka stared at Rose and blushed. “Woah.”

            “Right? This is perfect! We all get to be heroes.”

            Luka stood beside Anarka. “Rose, can this wait? We’re in the middle of something.”

            Rose looked up. “Did I interrupt something?”

            Luka opened his mouth, but Anarka held a hand up.

            “Not at all. Actually, I’d like to take a walk with you ladies. Come along.”

            Luka moved to head up, but Anarka stopped him.

            “Girls, Luka. Ye stay here. Unless there’s something ye wish to share with me. I promise, I’ll understand.”

            “What? No.”

            “Then you stay here. Unless ye can transform too.”

            “Of course, I can’t.”

            “Then you stay here. Come along, ladies.”

            Anarka headed up with Rose and Juleka. They all walked along the path beside the Seine.

            “Mom, are you mad?” Juleka asked.

            Anarka shook her head. “Not at all. I was young once too, lass. You and Luka are teens and adults soon. You’ll be finding yourselves and making your own choices before long.”

            “Excuse me, but when did you find out?” Rose butted in.

            Juleka scoffed. “Luka told her last night.”

            “Now, lass, he’s only looking out for ye. However, something’s changed. That boy isn’t my son.”

            “That’s because he’s being affected by the butterfly asshole. The one that’s been changing people into monsters. It’s warping him.”

            Anarka frowned. “Is there a way to save him? To bring our Luka back?”

            “Only the snake can purge the whispers, but Queen Bee made a point last night. If they still hold on to the darkness already in them, then they could just be affected again. And I’m scared cause I think I’m the reason he’s infested.”

            “What? Why? He loves you. You’re his sister, his twin,” Rose said.

            “That’s why. I’ve always been the weak one. He’s always had to protect me from everything. He shoulders both our burdens when he shouldn’t have to anymore. I want him to see that we are equal, that I’m not weak, and we can be strong for each other.”

            Anarka put a hand on Juleka’s shoulder. “And you will show him. If he’s turned into a monster, I’m counting on you to be the one to save him.”

            “Wait, you’re not going to tell me to give this up?”

            Anarka laughed. “Oh, lass, of course not! This is exciting!”

            “But, Luka went on and on about the dangers, and-.”

            “I know and recognize the dangers, however there are so many dangerous things. Battling supervillains is just one of them. It’s not like me when I was your age. I didn’t battle monsters, but boy did I put myself in dangerous situations. I just ask ye promise me one thing.”

            “What’s that?”

            “Look out for each other. Not just for your brother, but for your friends, for the two of ye. Keep each other safe and help one another. Ok?”

            “I will,” Rose and Juleka said together.

            “Good. Now, I have one last thing to offer. Your companion, Queen Bee, was right. Some people won’t be able to let go of the darkness so easily, but sometimes we need to fall in order to stand back up.”

            “Did that happen to you?”

            Anarka nodded. “I had to fall to the very bottom before I could climb out of the pit I was in. If Luka is at that edge, he just may need to fall before he can rise again. And you’ll be there to help remind him that he isn’t alone.”

            Juleka blinked. Remind him. Those words echoed within her. She did that with Alix, and it saved her. The memories and promise of something better. Is that all Luka needed? Could she do the same thing and save him too? What would she need to remind him they were equal? What promises could she make to save him?

            Thank you.”

            Anarka hugged Juleka. “Of course, lass. Of course.”

            “Miss Couffaine, may Juleka and I show our friends that I’m part of the team now?”

            “Aye, of course, young hero. What shall we call you?”

            Rose hummed. “Lapine.”

            “A fine name for ye. Stay safe.”

            Juleka stepped back. “We will. Mullo, get squeaky.”

            Anarka watched as Juleka transformed into Souris Blanche. Pride swelled in her as she watched the girls head off. She smiled and crossed her arms. She returned to her home and headed down into the living room. Luka stood when she arrived.

            “Where is Jule?”

            “She’s off with Rose to see their friends.”

            “Did you tell her that she needed to stop playing hero?”

            “No, Luka, I didn’t.”

            “Why? It’s dangerous. What if she ends up injured or dead?”

            “I know and I am scared for her, but the two of you are nearly adults. It won’t be long before the two of ye are seventeen, then eighteen. Ye are both becoming adults who will make your own choices and are. I’m just glad that it’s not what I was getting myself into at your ages.”

            “But-.”

            “Luka, I’m trusting her that this is the right decision and I ask that you do the same. She will still need you even as she steps into being her own person, but you need to respect her decisions.”

            “I can’t. Not with this. I could lose her. We both could lose her. This has to stop, please. You’re the only one who could convince her.”

            “This isn’t you, Luka. You’ve always respected your sister’s decisions. What’s changed?”

            “What’s changed? She’s out there fighting super villains. Ones that could kill her. Lives have been lost with each attack. Students in our school with Stoneheart, thousands with the storm, and reports of people missing after last night with another confirmed monster attack. How can I possibly respect a decision that puts her directly in harm’s way? How can you?”

            “Luka-.”

            “Forget it. If you won’t stop this, I will. I’ve heard and seen enough to know how to stop her.”

            “Luka, please understand.”

            Luka ignored Anarka as he headed to his room and slammed the door behind him. She sighed and closed her eyes. She sent a silent prayer to Juleka to save her brother, to bring their Luka back to them.

imagine in mha there's this person with a quirk called "therapy" and they can psychoanalyze you and figure out why you are the way you are so all their interactions are like:

Tahara Kichirou was a criminal.

He knew mugging was a crime, he knew the runs he was making were in the less-than-legal territory, he knew everything would eventually catch up and he would get caught and put in jail.

He just hoped his family was well enough off to deal with it when he was gone, what with his wife bedridden and son Quirkless.

He growled at the thought. Society was so fucked up. The fact that his seventeen year old son couldn't get a job because he "wasn't qualified" because he didn't have a quirk was bullshit. Quirkless people could do their jobs just as well as people with Quirks, those pesky things didn't matter.

But apparently they did, to society at least. He could've been working a stable job, too, if he hadn't had a raccoon mutation stopping anyone from hiring him.

He waited in an alley, searching for more well-off people to rob. He was a criminal, but he wasn't a dick. He wasn't going to rob people who were struggling for money like him.

After a family of three in thread-bare coats passed, he spotted a woman in a sleek black dress strutting down the sidewalk, reeking of wealth and privilege. He had found his target.

But before he could move, a voice said, "Hello."

He whipped around, staggering back. He could feel the hair on his body standing up. "When did you get here?" He demanded.

The child— because that's what they were, maybe ten or eleven— ignored his question, simply tilting their head and looking at him. It was a small twitch, but Kichirou could feel himself being analyzed, picked apart, judged.

"I said—"

The kid interrupted him. "Were you not loved as a child?"

Shouta expected to see a crime in progress when he found the source of the sobbing, but it was not, in fact, a crime.

A man was crumpled on the ground, crying, as a child crouched next to him and murmured to his prone body, empathy wafting off of him in heady waves. Shouta watched as the kid said, "—Nothing was wrong with you. Some people are just assholes, and there's nothing we can do to change the past."

"I know, and I'm trying to break the cycle," The man cried, "I would never hurt my family, not like them. But I can't provide for them looking like this." He gestured down to himself, and Shouta noticed his very obvious racoon mutation.

"And my son— He's," The man hiccuped, tear-stained. "He's Quirkless. Do you know how much shit they have to go through, just for living? People are so mean, and I want to protect him, but I can't stop the world." His voice quieted, and when he spoke again, he sounded weary with a weight only Atlas could imagine. "How am I better than my father if I can't even protect my son?"

Shouta watched as the kid snapped their fingers. "Hey," They said softly. When they saw him look up, they said, "Do you love him?"

The man blinked, obviously confused. "Y-Yes, of course!"

"And do you support him?" They continued.

"Yes!"

"And will you try your best to be there for him whenever he needs you?"

"Yes," The man replied, suspicion edging his tone. "Why—"

"Then that's all you can do for him," The kid said. They sighed. "I've got a friend. He's Quirkless, and every step he's made since he was four has been hell. And I can't...do anything." They looked at their hands, inhaling softly. "I can't do anything that seems to matter, anyways. But he told me a little bit ago that me just being there for him has been more than he could ever ask for. He's... He's so incredibly good, even on his off days, and I want to protect him from everything that's ever hurt him...But I can't."

They patted the man's arm. "All we can do is be there for them, sir. And sometimes, it's enough." Then they paused. "Do try and get your family into therapy, though."

The man laughed, tears and snot marring his face, and he affirmed the order with a nod of his head.

The kid pulled out a notebook, scribbling for a little bit before ripping the paper off and handing it to him. "And these are places that will help you get out of the hole you're in. You won't have to do this anymore."

The man stared at him, and began crying in earnest. "You're— You," He sobbed.

The kid murmured reassuring words to him until he calmed down again, and the man sniffled. "You're a good kid," He said. "Thanks."

The kid smiled softly, watching him leave. "I'm just glad I was here," They replied softly, before standing up and brushing off their pants.

Shouta's eyes flashed red, and the kid stopped, turning around.

At first, neither spoke, but then the kid inhaled sharply, threw out a, "Mommy issues!" And bolted down the alley. Shouta swore and chased after.

Hi Chai :~) Chp. 7 of tnt slapped - I enjoyed it SO much. You develop your storylines so sensitively, it's a such dream to read your writing. I know you said you it was tricky to work out how to write the time skips and connect all the threads together but honestly? I think you nailed the pacing, I wouldn't have ever been able to tell that was something you were having to wrestle with. And apart from those yungi texts (although lol, we love a bit of angst) this chapter was such good vibes.

I'm also loving how mc's relationships with wooyoung, san, seonghwa, hongjoong etc are being developed. And I especially love when you drop in characters' scents. You always drop it in when the relationship dynamic between mc and the character in question shifts a bit... when it gets more intimate - and it's such a lovely touch. Mingi's cocoa and cinnamon, yunho's warm rain and cedar - and in this chapter, seonghwa's freshly brewed coffee and woo's fresh linen and summer salt... *Chef's kiss*

I can't even lie, it kinda makes me a bit emo thinking about how well you craft your stories and how much care you put into them - like it really really shows. And I know you've said it's been stressful for you recently with life/work stuff, so to put yet another banger of a chapter out into the world despite all of that is pretty incredible. I hope you're so so proud of yourself and that you're giving yourself lots of good rest. <3 <3

i really appreciate your note on the pacing because that's something i'm so concerned about with this fic. as much as i love these characters, i'm trying not to write 35 chapters of this.... so sometimes i worry that i'm rushing or things won't feel earned, and it means a lot that you noticed that in this chapter. thank you for saying so!

also yes the scents is so fun!! i really take my time thinking about them to figure it out, and also use some inspiration from what the boys have said before or things about their personality that might match. for mingi, i picture him having a bit of a sweet tooth so i think that was a natural fit. for yunho, he's been described as having a clean scent, and when i think clean comfort i think of rain. for seonghwa, he uses black opium for perfume and one of the notes in that is coffee so i used that as a jumping off point. for wooyoung.... i'm not sure what perfume he's using now but omegas scents are typically more sweet and less rich, but it didn't feel right to describe him as having a candy scent? so i thought about what about wooyoung comforts me or might comfort y/n, and i just thought about that warm feeling you get after a long day on the beach when you need a nap and what that kind of smells like and feels like, so that's where his scent comes from.

for y/n.... she smells a little different depending on who she's with. for yunho and mingi she has this rich honey scent with floral/herbal notes like chamomile. but as you'll see described in a future chapter, for hwa, woo, and san, the honey is present but it's more like a baked good for them? sugary, vanilla notes, flour, honey, etc.

a lot of my readers for this fic are new to omegaverse, but something interesting that you'll see is that omegas scents change when they are pregnant. i'm not planning on writing that into this story, but typically when an omegas scent changes to something more creamy or milky, that's an indication that they're pregnant. when i was deciding her scent, i wanted something that would be complimentary for that if i ever did take the story in that direction, so for her, in the future she would get the scent of sweet cream added to those honey notes.

anyways thank you so much! i just thought this might be interesting, i don't think i've ever talked about how i determined their scents before and your ask seemed like the perfect opportunity 😊

to answer your question and concern: yes - i'm sorry to say - it does need to be in there.

(quick note: i'm gonna sound all formal pretty soon here, and as such, my tone may come across as kind of stiff, defensive, or upset to some, and i just want to quickly say that i am NOT upset, stiff, defensive, or intending to be at all LOL. really honestly deeply we are soooo super chill here, it means a LOT to me that people feel comfortable to come forward with questions and concerns like these and i just want to try to answer as best as i can!! this is me taking u seriously as well as this topic and just trying to get my words out good and comprehensible LOL.)

now believe u me!! i DID have some hesitation. i've thought very hard on how and why i depict the characters the way i do. they are each their own mess of roses and thistles and thorns and black widows. but i don't want to do myself any injustice as a writer by holding back on character traits and my developmental intents with the character just because the character is doing something i personally do not condone, and know might make some readers uncomfortable. it's unfair to the story i'm telling, unfair to myself, unfair to readers, and unfair to the entire process of growth and my choice to tell the story as a glacial slowburn in general to withhold the ugly side of a person.

because GOOMT is an enormous glacial slowburn. it's a transformative piece in the effect that the characters are going to need so much time to learn, to practice, to confront, progress and regress, stifle and bash barriers, and all in order to transform themselves - and it is a constant battle.

James is not the same person as he was all those years ago. to say the town changed him is a gross understatement. his ongoing trend of fatphobia towards Harry is 100% intentional from me as a writer, and from him as a character. this is an ugly piece of James that i thought hard on before including, and wouldn't remove.

cuz see, i've done my deep dive masters thesis on the psychology of James Sunderland GOOMT, but this stupid blond sad wet idiot doesn't know a gat dang thing!!! LOL

James sucks. he's kind of a shitty person. and there are reasons for this. MANY reasons, MANY factors, and many that are interconnected intricate!! but one thing to remember is this one piece of complicated, albeit common human nature:

people are mean. they will think mean things about other people, or even say it to their faces with the intention to hurt. there can be any sort of reason WHY they are mean, too.

James is thinking hurtful fatphobic thoughts about Harry because that's how he feels about Harry on the surface level. he's fat: it's disgusting. it's a reason not to like him. has he always felt like this about fat people? who knows :) is this something that has subconsciously altered him with origins that can be connected back to Eddie..?

oh.. who knows? :) ;) but the fact of the matter is that James himself is only taking this on surface level. he's thinking mean things to be mean. it's distancing behavior; and it's absolutely crucial to his character development that i show his ugliness.

all in all, these threads go deeper and farther than simple fatphobia for James. it's superficial and it's stupid and it's so mean and so ugly and it's crucial character and human development to have, and then work through.

i understand and totally sympathize, as well as respect, any opinions that this would seem out of character for James, or would turn anyone off from him or the story somehow, or any other characterization choices i've made in GOOMT thus far. total respect!! this fic is a whole 'nother partyinthemysterymachine in itself and there are totally likely to be plot points and pieces of character development and/or portrayal that could have some people going :\.

and that's totally normal and natural, even if it sucks all around.

but just want to make a quick note here too that should anything in GOOMT ever not jive anymore, that i 100% encourage, and 100% prefer people who are not enjoying GOOMT, or find something that turns them off at any point, to stop reading.

hit the brix!! unbookmark!! never click it again! that's all perfectly okay with me, because your enjoyment factor of what you read or consume should be more important than trying to stick with something just because of whatever. i'm not bothered. i'd be sad to see anyone go, but MUCH happier knowing that they bowed out for themselves. there is no reason to read GOOMT if it doesn't jive or hits the wrong notes on a topic or if the story takes a turn that feels too much to bear.
