their spar is but a dance . there's a muted sound that erupts between their swords as they come into contact , a low vibration traveling all the way down to the hilt . ayaka steps back , eyes narrowed in on the positioning of kaeya's stance as he twirls the weapon in his hand . the lightness of his voice breaks the tension in the air . his words are a compliment to both her physical appearance and her fighting style . admittedly , it catches her off guard and she slackens herself to look at him with a puzzled look . she was used to the niceties of men and women alike , but they were often superficial comments . none ever acknowledged her actual ability when they only saw her as another pretty face put upon a pedestal to admire . their perception of her created her cage , her unwanted idolization . yet , here like this with kaeya , she felt ... free .

a blush creeps over the tops of her cheeks . it's a light pink that dusts over the bridge of her nose and extends to the highs of her cheeks . ❛ you flatter me too much , kaeya , ❜ she says to him , a pause as a smile pulls at the corners of her lips . although she was proper with her manners she enjoyed the flirtatious banter between them . it was surprisingly easy to converse with him , but she had assumed it was simply attributed to his charismatic personality . the shirasagi himegimi circles the training yard , her gaze meeting his . she enjoyed his challenging nature and his spirited company , especially now as the tension between them builds in the form of battle . ❛ you are quite the swordsman , and i still have much to learn , ❜ she comments as she tightens her grip over the hilt to lunge forward at him . another muted sound echoes across the yard as she hones in on him , the entirety of her body pressing into her sword as he blocks her . up close he is utterly beautiful , almost devastatingly so . ❛ perhaps we should plan another sparring date . i admit , i enjoy your company very much and i'd like to see you again . ❜

WIP Wednesday (9/27) | Guardian Angel Neil AU

After he stirs the flavor packet in, Andrew shoves Kevin’s long legs into the floor so he can sit down to eat. 

“Hi, Andrew,” Kevin says, barely glancing at him. Andrew grunts in reply and looks over at the TV screen, where Nicky is absolutely obliterating Aaron. He should be laughing at Aaron’s pisspoor gaming and trying to get a reaction out of him by now. But his entire belief system was just ripped out from under him, so Andrew just sits quietly and stirs at his food.

These last couple months he thought he was essentially talking to himself. But Neil is real. Andrew’s got proof and everything! A feather from an angel’s wing, right under his pillow! That’s kind of creepy of him, isn’t it? Definitely. 

Well. Oopsie. It’s Andrew’s very first time encountering the supernatural, Neil will have to excuse him. Speaking of Neil… Andrew’s got to get back up there. He’s got to… Well, he’s not sure what to do now. He’s got a couple ideas. But kissing an angel silly might just be against the rules.

Then again, it might not be. So Andrew scarfs down his noodles without tasting them at all, then rushes back up to the roof. Predictably, Neil isn’t there. 

“Neil?” Andrew says. Then again. But the angel doesn’t make an appearance. His words from earlier ring in Andrew’s mind, ‘You have other things to do. I want you to take care of yourself. See you tomorrow.’

Andrew chews on his lip then goes back inside without lighting a cigarette. He finishes the assignments he’d let pile up in the last couple weeks then takes a shower and goes to bed at a decent time. And for the first time in what feels like years, he falls asleep quickly.

i just woke up in the middle of the night, started immediately like catastrophising because that’s just what my brain does. and then, not 30 seconds into it, the concept of Jay Ferin was inserted into my mind. i instantly felt better. she’s like my guardian angel <3

I found someone in my classroom!!! She's so cool and I've sat next to her last year and she always loves to talk and I loved to listen to school recent gossip and this year she's on my latin classes and we've been getting back in touch and!!! And!!! We discovered we both have similar ideas!! I'm explaining her anarchist theory and she shares acab media she just discovered, we circle the 13/12 date in the classroom blackboard and run, I send her tutorials I've discovered on how to do moss graffiti and she asks for information about world events and if I don't know about them we investigate together and then we exchange opinions!! And this, this is so special to me, because I've been trying to connect with someone in my surroundings, and there wasn't— interest. Like I talk and there's this tight smile on my friends face. And. And sometimes it breaks my heart? But this. This is so fucking cool.

literally every single one of my ocs (who are dudes, or masc-leaning) are the most doofy-aaaa boyfriend ever. like without fail i don't think i can even write a guy who, regardless of composition and personality, will turn into the most stuttering man-loser the second he's confronted with the sheer beauty/levelheadedness/competency of his boyfriend/wife/girlfriend/whatever

oh here's fun thoughts actually

i'll say that "acceptance", while still part of it, isn't really the main point actually- i realized later. more attention should be paid to the "letting go" part. i more prefer to say "to not cling", though. do not cling to anger, do not cling to sexual desire, connection, food, life

"to not cling" also goes quite well along with my idea of finger removal/not taking things and the strange appearance the echoes' limbs n heads take on. simply accept what is given by life at the time (i'd explain this further but some of it i want to keep for later since it connects closely to Fish's lore)
