I'm going to be burned at the stakes but I don't care I love putting Yaldabaoth and Satanael in domestic situations

Mementos is their giant-ass home actually and it occasionally detaches from the real world and they have peace

They have a normal room where they play normal games instead of god games that would potentially end humanity. They have normal conversations about the weather outside

They do normal things like laundry. Except Yaldy doesn't have clothes he just cuts new pieces of sheet metal to attach to himself

So that victorian cryptid au huh?

It’s still pretty in development but these guys are the main players in this au. If you’re interested I put some notes about each of them and their roles below the cut (:

I’m still working on a name for this au?? My two working titles right now are paranoia or superstitions... but yeah if anyone has any ideas I am open to suggestions cause I’d really like to stop having to type out a long specific name every time I go talk about this au hgfysusis

I guess before I go into detail with characters I should explain the premise a bit. The story is pretty similar to normal p5s, however this au takes place in a victorian/steampunk themed time. And instead of having personas, the phantom thieves are all cryptids in the metaverse..well, also in the real world at the time the metaverse is closest to reality, which just so happens to be during the full moon. Also because the metaverse is so close to reality in this au, knowledge of its existence, as well as a strong cognition, can lend certain people an interesting set of powers that allow them to bend reality by drawing energy from the metaverse (:

Ichinose: Unable to properly express her emotions, Ichinose grew up as a social outcast, many labeling her as a “witch” or a “monster”. In her quest to understand the human heart, she had a run in with the metaverse. With this new, forbidden knowledge, she truly became the witch everybody told her she was, interpreting the incomprehensible metaverse the only way she could: spells and hexes. More isolated than ever, she used her fascination with machinery, as well as her acquired taste in the occult to create humanity’s companion: an assortment of human remains covered in a cutesy, robotic shell. However, she soon became disgusted with her own creation, banishing it to the metaverse. Once again completely isolated, she began to work on a new invention she thought could cure the whole world of their struggles, and maybe, finally, give her some sort of human connection....

EMMA: also known as the Efficacious Miracle Making Automaton, EMMA was the second attempt by Ichinose to combine witchcraft with machinery. EMMA draws power from the metaverse to do what Ichinose programmed her to believe humanity wants, eventually leading her to slowly and subtly steal humanity’s desires. With this seizing of desires, EMMA also implants the fear of monsters and witches, something Ichinose unknowingly imprinted on her creation. Over time, as her power deepens, the people under her influence become more and more paranoid and fearful of the occult, a phenomena that becomes so widespread that the metaverse itself is affected, eventually giving the phantom thieves their monstrous forms. And after she sells EMMA off to a certain wealthy businessman, the implications of her influence only get stronger...

Sophia: humanity’s companion! Sophia resides mostly in the metaverse, but can occasionally pass for a strangely costumed human if needed in the real world. She aids the phantom thieves in their quest to understand the new resurgence and strength of the metaverse and the strange change of heart epidemic. She strives to understand the human heart and does her best to be the best companion she can be!

Zenkichi: He works in law enforcement which, as the superstitions and paranoia ran rampant in his town, eventually converted his job into something more akin to a monster hunter. He is tasked with hunting down the phantom thieves...only to be forced into a position in which he has to work with them to save his daughter. In the process, he travels into the metaverse and awakens as a werewolf, effectively joining the phantom thieves in putting an end to the change of heart epidemic. In the real world, he fights to keep his identity a secret, no longer able to show himself during the full moon, or even being able to interact with many of the holy items used in the crusade against monsters like himself. Eventually Kaburagi finds him out, but decides to help the phantom thieves to finally set things right. In the meantime, he does his best to repair the relationship with his daughter, who just so happens to be a witch.

Akane: after the death of her mother, and the absence of her father, Akane develops a resentment in law enforcement, and eventually, an intense fixation and understanding with creatures of the occult, namely, the phantom thieves of hearts. Because of the general paranoia and taboo of such subjects, she’s quickly ostracized and labeled a witch, leading her to only further pursue her interests. This eventually leads her to the metaverse, and a sticky situation that results in her father’s transformation, as well as her own awakening to witch-like powers. After her rescue, Zenkichi finally explains everything to her, and both werewolf and witch find a way to rekindle their relationship as they hide from the police, help the phantom thieves, and explore their new powers (:

also after ichinose’s inevitable change of heart via Sophia, Zenkichi introduces her to Akane so the two witches can finally have someone who truly understands them...and eventually they all become a happy family (:

I tried keeping it brief but I just have so much to say about this au! I hope it’s not too confusing, I know I’m bad at explaining things and my brain is going at a million miles a minute...I’m just so excited about this au....and while it’s still very much a work in progress I’ve thought out so much about the world building and these 5 characters in particular.....so thank you anyone who read this far for listening me go off my shits about this (:

SHOOTS HIM WITH THE IV GUN 💥💥💥

I've had this AU in my brain for so so long, I've been trying to design Minato first but it wasn't working.. So I started with Ryoji and I'm so obsessed with his design, this was so fun (✿◕‿◕✿)

Caption was going to be "Punts him into Limbo" but he can't go to Limbo so........

Some design rambles because I can

His hair isn't all white because. Because he'd look too similar to the woman who gave it to him..

I didn't mean to take so much inspo from Thanny but it works

This AU is the most self indulgent but I don't care 👊��

I will get Minato's design down soon... I have a few more ideas for him now and I'm very excited!!

Lore stuff I guess (I'm still working on some things but):

He's in charge of Purgatory! He's usually there to greet people when they arrive in the afterlife, he guides them to either the demon or angel realms, whichever they prefer.

He (along with Minato) also make sure people don't get lost in Purgatory and become Husks. If they do, he takes care of them (doesn't have to be killing them, can be making sure they are in a facility that is able to restore their humanity).

Gave Nyx her body back, if he needs to be in his non-human form, it is Thanatos (who is also getting the IV treatment of course).

Ryoji can visit Limbo, but even if he were to stay in the main area, he would not experience any biological changes like deities usually do. He's considered a Temporal-Independent Entity.

He does have quick access to Limbo, should he need it for whatever reason!

I'm gonna sit down eventually and actually plan out the story and how it works after the events of P3 and such, but yeah >:)
