this scene is right at the end of chapter 3. if you have not read this fic i HIGHLY recommend it! im pretty sure i have recommended it before already HAHA but now i got to draw one of my favorite scenes. i dont want to spoil but it just makes me crazy fr. they're just so...!!! HNNNGHHH!! i've literally read it like 3 times. if you like protective loid + badass yor + the best, coldest serving of revenge justice, you need to read this story! her writing is absolutely amazing and im not gassing this up bc she commissioned me LMAO its genuinely just so good. if ur still reading my little rant pls go read woman in red its 7 chapters and its completed and. Who’s the first ever character you drew and how did they evolve as you started drawing more? 👀👀👀

First character was a Lock named Rippington. I eventually changed his name to Xahvin, because he was named after one of my fav smooth jazz bands at the time. Used to draw him frequently and he hasn't changed much. He is large for a lesser will and is a barely tempered, seething ball of outrage. He acts as diplomat to a particularly contentious empire that alternatively keeps trying to assassinate him and bury him in unnecessary paperwork. He's scarred up for reasons, half probably from the murder attempts and half because he's combative and has tussled with other Locks in the past. Riker (Archaeon) is one of his agents, the hate is mutual.

He also dislikes Scott, the Team, and all Traders. Kitra is still his Bonded Companion and about the only peaceful thing in his existence. Outside of her, he has a fairly agreeable relationship with Vel, a human that was lent to him by Movallo (diplomat to another empire) to help with diplomat duties. Vel earns his respect and they get along OK.

Basically someone does something horrendous or whatever and wants to keep it a secret but Geneva saw it, but don't worry, it's "Our Little Secret".

Then everyone seems to start making odd little pokes at what you did, like everyone knows your secret, Our Little Secret. Killed someone and buried their body in the woods? General murder and killing references like "I could KILL for some ___" and also talking about like "out in the woods", and it gradually increases more and more until they admit to what they did and it turns out no one knew until you said. Now they do all know. Everyone Knows What You Did.

She can be found in the form seen above (thanks again nyx) around the nearest water source and she sees in the same way as the bad Don't Hex the Water thing. She prefers Water Towers because high up and so vantage point (doesn't need it, just seems fitting).

Oh also the wraps have writing on the inside, of which is the secrets that Geneva knows, but only ever the current secrets, when everyone knows she no longer has that wrap. Always has her ears, nose, and mouth covered.

So thank you so much for your message, it helps me keep up my confidence and it warms my heart <3.

I can't deny that the pressure is there, and not just from publishing, which is scary on its own (this is the first time I do that :'D), but also from myself. I want to make sure that the story is properly spelled out, that it's consistent; this is my first large project after all. Thank you for reassuring me that my writing is good at such a stressful time for me :>

Nyx looks entirely the part of a kindly grandmother, but she is in fact one of the strongest guards Amberspire currently employs due to her mastery of magic. It is much more clear at night, when the motes of Arcane energy that float around her at all times become fully visible.

Even by day, people are beguiled by her presence, only to be flooded with terror upon thinking of her in hindsight.

By night... well, that is another story.

i'm gonna be honest, at first i was a little put off by the attitude of Nyx's human. but the more stories you wrote, the more you built up the world and the relationship, i actually grew to like it!! irl im not allowed to be even remotely aggressive, and i certainly don't have the physical capacity for hard labor or anything like that. but the fantasy within the story makes it believable!! like, the cognitive leap from "this is a world with animal hybrid people" to "hey maybe i can be a little mean. as a treat." isn't very dramatic nor does it throw me off of the story. even if something is too far-fetched for my individual reality, it can be justified by saying that that's how Nyx perceived it. and since he's not human, he wouldn't phrase or comprehend the event in the exact same way a human would.

sorry if i rambled but idk, i just really like Nyx and consider that part of the appeal is seeing how he reacts to a partner that he perceives as contrasting to himself.

First I'm so glad you've come to enjoy his stories! I've enjoyed having a series where the humans are perceived as scary and as it's usually a perspective from Nyx he can be an unreliable narrator

Of course, I exaggerate some things bc I can be aggressive and need my own outlet so I use these stories as well, but also I've adored how the world around his stories has grown to a blend of something cohesive and more natural feeling for the setting

I'm glad you can enjoy the scenarios as a lil treat, I'm so glad you sent this because the deep insight to how you feel about what I've written makes me feel so so proud in a way, you know?
