If FTWD had revealed Madison had died when she was shot and she actually what we see of her after is her in the afterlife or a pre-death dream sequence. And the story strand tells Tracy about Madison surviving the shot and saving padre is just to save 8 year old Tracy from the trauma of being a murderer. Making her believe that she inspired Madison to save padre from her fathers horde (which also may be causing her to feel guilt), I’m an attempt to make her believe in goodness and remembering “grandma” Madison in a more positive light.

I mean.. about it, she is reunited with Alicia, who is healthy now and for the record, she should have died on the beach - it makes sense given that Alicia wakes up looking healthy and feeling healthy and once again the colours are brightened as she goes off to help others. Then when we see them watching from above, that part is real and we are actually seeing the other characters alive and well. Madison and Alicia were just seeing that everyone is going to be okay before they move on. When strand sees them he’s seeing their spirits or imagining them. Their journey home to LA is actually their journey to a version of heaven/peace. It also fits in this story, bc they alluded to an afterlife / near death dream when nick died and when grace almost died, but her baby actually died instead. Anyways this is just my stupid thoughts on how to make the finale less of a dumpster fire. I spent too much time on thinking of ways to improve bad storylines.

i do not consider GooH canon at all but i do have like. a fairly in-depth rewrite of it. because of course i do. i like to rewrite the stuff that i will never consider canon just for fun😭 and i’m bored rn so i’m gonna talk about it lol

essentially cutting out the stuff with the historical figures and focusing more on the past. dex is there and actually does something instead of just being a husk; he and johnny (along with dane and kinzie) have to work together to save anteros. part of this comes from the fact that it really feels like they almost wanted dex to have a larger role (i mean they tracked down is original voice actor and everything like). so dex and johnny get to have their long-awaited confrontation, but they gotta put it aside to work together to save someone they ultimately both really care about.

so like i said, instead of the historical figures, the people that help out are actually the husks mentioned in-game: dex, luz, tobias, and—instead of troy—josh birk. because josh birk is not seeing heaven. plus it’s funnier if he’s there bc he really thought he’d get in :/ after he’s done being dramatic he’s like yeah ok i’ll help (surely this is a good enough deed right) and the dewynter sisters help out as well btw. ofc.

the story beats are largely the same with them doing stuff to get satan’s attention. dex and dane pretty much stay at the ultor HQ and work from their base while kinzie and johnny go out and do the dirty work with the help of the three above. tobias, luz, and josh (and i suppose dex and dane and the sisters) are less like. ostracized. like the historical figures were and were more so just large enough figures related to the saints that they’ve kinda just gotten their own special places in hell. which sounds bad but i assure you i genuinely love them. the game implies to me with several lines (and maybe it’s outright stated somewhere and i just Forgot) but i think the saints in the game’s bizarre later canon were large enough forces that they just kinda Got their own special section in hell for them and several of their acquaintances.

ANYWAY. meanwhile anteros is initially like 🤔 at the prospect of marrying satan’s daughter bc in his head he’s imagining big tiddy demon lady but then sees she’s just. um. her. and he’s like umm teehee no thanks! *gets crystallized or whatever happened to the boss in that game*

i just like situations where i can put characters who have never interacted before in a scenario where they do have to talk and work together. but yeah. ok i’m done. can you tell i’m having a slow day today
