V.C. Andrews’ Casteel Series

Some of you may not know that Lifetime did another movie series based on a different book series by V.C. Andrews - the Casteel series. There is a great canon uncle/niece relationship and also a great relationship between cousins who grew up believing they were half-siblings. You can read more about it here, on my wordpress.

But I am so so happy that you have found Flowers in the Attic 🧡🧡🧡 It is an absolute treat to read! A cult classic and lovely gothic horror novel 🧡

Wondering if you have read the others books? FITA is the first book, it has four others namely: Petals in the Wind, If there be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows (prequel story)

Oh! If you love FITA as well, I would def recommend VC Andrew's other series, the Casteel series. It's just as fucked up as FITA lol the first book is Heaven 🧡

The other books are from the ghost writer, but their Landry series captures the VC Andrews vibe very well, so def recommend it as well 🧡

Oh! Oh! Lastly, I want to also invite you to the VCA music lol There's this singer called Nicole Dollanganger (yes, she's VCA inspired) and she made this absolutely lovely song for FITA:

okay ive now read like 3-4 romantasy/fantasy books where its enemies to lovers and like immediately after the main characters decide they love each other and have sex, the MMC betrays her????? like “get naked, i love you” and then boom the third act twist is IMMEDIATE BETRAYAL. usual like public, messy betrayal also. which means the sequel then starts the whole enemies to lovers dynamic over again as the FMC is like rightfully pissed and then the author has to be like “no he had a good reason i promise” just for him to barely redeem himself to the FMC so she can forgive him and they can get back to fucking in between battles. like. once was shocking. twice was like okay sure. THREE TIMES?? FOUR TIMES?? no more. if another enemies to lovers MMC betrays the FMC, i want her to just kill him. if you want to use the enemies to lovers trope to sell your series, simply make it a slow burn, my guy. also i dont buy that she would forgive this like “ultimate betrayal” based on the fact that he has dark hair and shes horny for him. like if hes gonna betray her, stick to your guns and make him evil but nooooo hes always somehow right so she doesnt even get to be mad. its starting to feel like a cop out

I know some people have valid reasons for hating on The Blood and Ash series, but i loooove that series. Sure it has some unnecessary things or confusing world building, but it's really one of the best series I've read in 2022 .

I thought Casteel was gonna be my number 1 fictional bf ,that is until i met NYKTOS.

But still Poppy and Cass are HILARIOUS. everyone in that series is hilarious actually .

Their magic, worlds, war, characters was sooo good. I can’t believe people hate this series 😭
