Healthy Digestive System
Having a healthy digestive system is crucial for overall well-being and proper nutrient absorption. Here are some tips to promote a healthy digestive system:
: Consume a diet rich in fiber, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Fiber aids digestion and helps prevent constipation, while a diverse range of nutrients supports overall digestive health.
: Drink an adequate amount of water throughout the day to keep your digestive system hydrated. Sufficient hydration helps maintain the elasticity of the digestive tract and promotes regular bowel movements.
: Take time to chew your food properly. Chewing breaks down food into smaller particles, making it easier for digestion and nutrient absorption. It also signals the body to produce digestive enzymes.
: Avoid overeating and practice portion control. Eating large meals can put excessive strain on the digestive system. Instead, have smaller, more frequent meals to aid digestion.
: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support a healthy gut. Include probiotic-rich foods in your diet, such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, and other fermented foods. They help maintain a balanced gut flora and improve digestion.
: Processed foods and high-sugar foods can disrupt the balance of gut bacteria and lead to digestive issues. Opt for whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible to support a healthy digestive system.
: Chronic stress can negatively impact digestion. Practice stress-management techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, or engaging in activities you enjoy promoting a healthy digestive system.
: Regular physical activity helps stimulate digestion and promotes bowel regularity. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week.
: Identify any foods that may trigger digestive discomfort or sensitivity, such as spicy foods, fatty foods, or certain food allergens. Limit or avoid these foods to maintain digestive comfort.
: Sleep plays a crucial role in overall health, including digestion. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to support optimal digestive function.
If you experience persistent digestive issues or have concerns about your digestive health, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and guidance.

aaghh I hate health anxiety ocd (or whatever you call it), it's literally doing nothing other than contributing to make my health worse
... wait actually, does anyone have like, tips/advice for that kind of thing? I really think I need some help with this one
#i (ai)#ocd#vent cw#I also have like severe decision paralysis + procrastination issues so that's great#like. being so scared that i have to choose for something to eat that is nutritious&healthy AND affordable AND eatable#that i delay my eating by many hours every other day (+ combined with many other reasons like general awful schedule)#is not in fact the amazing health plan my instincts apparently think it is for some baffling reason. fucking hell#I consistently have all sorts of digestive system issues and I'm plenty underweight. tbh my adhd meds prob also dont help with this part#....on that note I have severe anxiety with spending money (which I have very little of) too. lmao. just great#during the lockdown years my contamination ocd spiked very badly and it still hadn't fully recovered now#and it was/is really godawful harmful for my physical and mental health alike. like this was worse before but even now it really screws wit#my hydration habits. also its always my top consideration/anxiety to think about 'god would the toilet hygiene be bad'#whenever theres any option for me to go anywhere. so I avoided nearly every possible activity/event/social event I could avoid#that require leaving home for half a day or more. and I freak out badly whenever anyone comes to our home to visit for fear of contaminatio#some family friends used to send kids over to our place for dinner montly-ish & that was always my worst anxiety source for the month#I always dreaded the night terribly and it was awful experience. urgh.#gdi I wish I had less types of ocds like why am I cursed with so many annoying things at once lmao#...anyway ugh. i hate how my parents is about me getting sick/ill/any sort of pains etc. always jump to blame me at once#now I don't even want to tell them about it but I have to and they'll often force me to do chores as usual and/or never stop talking about#how it's so totally my fault for having awful schedules and bad habits etc that I'm sick & that I'm making excuses or whatever the fuck#that i'm an adult its my responsibility etc etc#anyway sorry and thank you if you've read this far lmao

Oh yeah before I head to bed, in good news, all my exams came back ok 😆 had a few minor hitches here and there, but thankfully my efforts to eat healthier have indeed materialized in much better exam results, combined with there being no new health complications related to older problems, this is very good news to end the year on
#i still have my digestive system exams to run through with my doctor this week#to make sure my surgery didn't leave any damage anything plus make sure my pancreas is recovering properly#but at least the overall health seems to be going well~#also i'm happy that i found a good balance of 'healthy diet vs. not giving up on tasty food i love' that#still gives noteworthy positive results

nothing like a mild inconvenience to inform you that you may not be as mentally stable as you thought
#context: i have wanted to get a physical done for. a while.#bc my digestive system frequently chooses violence and i would like to be reassured that i'm not going to melt#and also i haven't gone in years and i want to make sure I'm still. healthy.#also technically I'm supposed to be getting my blood checked periodically bc of my acne meds but that hasn't happened#but bc of how my brain works + mom stuff i've kept putting it off#but today i was finally like OKAY we are going to get the ball rolling on this#only to have them be like 'o you haven't been in for a while idk if you're technically a parient anymore'#so i have to wait to see how the doctor wants to handle it#and like. physicals are usually a couple of months out so i was already going to have to wait#but yeah it's annoying bc i finally spoke up and For What#i mean at least now i know and we're waiting but i wanted to have it Scheduled#and it's been a weird feeling day so i'm stressed about health again#it's compounded by what happened with hamlin too i'm like the monkey puppet sideeye meme now whenever i feel weird for a sec#but yeah tldr finding out i have to Wait More has me big stressed#and i'm like. ah. perhaps my brain fooled me into thinking i am a well-adjusted individual#chilly chats

It became very apparent in the early days of the pandemic, when so many people had to shift quickly to working from home, that having home PC has become a thing of the past. In my department of 100 or so people, I was one of about 5 who had a home desktop. Around half had some kind of laptop, but a good proportion of them were little netbooks or Chromebooks. Everyone else only used tablets or phones at home.
It's not (just) that kids aren't interested in learning to use a PC, it's that an increasing number of households don't even have one available that they could use.
Telling young zoomers to "just switch to linux" is nuts some of these ipad kids have never even heard of a cmd.exe or BIOS you're throwing them to the wolves
#i strongly believe that using a PC is like eating fibre#sure it might not go down as easy as ultra-processed mobile UI pop-tarts#but it's important for a healthy technical digestive system

i was gonna get up and do things today but unfortunately for some reason i am exhausted... it is probably due to the fact that i only got like 2 hours of sleep monday night and 2 hours of sleep tuesday night and i was already running on fumes before monday night so my body is like “bitch we need to rest or we’ll die”
#⟡ — kayleigh’s yapping#and tmi but#my digestive system is still trying to kill me#not as violently as last week but ughhh#my brain is screaming “it’s colon cancer!!!” but like idk about that#i mean i am experiencing a lot of the symptoms but i think my brain is just being paranoid 🤡#if i still have issues on monday i will call and make an appointment with my doctor#it got better a couple days ago but now it’s back again#honestly i think it’s just a combination of stress + anxiety + lack of sleep + lack of eating regularly or properly#because when i do eat unfortunately it isn’t the most healthy or nutritious things#ANYWAYS i fell asleep at 10ish and woke up at 2ish and now i am gonna read fanfic and hopefully pass tf out asap#i gotta work tonight obviously but luckily it isn’t supposed to snow at all whatsoever thursday-monday#which had better be correct because i am sick of driving to/from work in shitty weather conditions#and i am also sick of being stressed re: shoveling#i am excited to see my puppies tomorrow though even though they’re gonna be stinky 🥰#at least until i clean their rooms then it won’t be as stinky obviously ✨#y’all i am RAMBLING in these tags jfc does anyone even ever read these??? probably not 😂#i am big eepy which makes me yap sometimes ahdjanskam
