I was reading random comments/annotations on Genius lyrics for Meant to Be Yours (some of them are good points, some I don't agree with and also kinda reads ableist unfortunately, but this one makes sense) and came across this user's interpretation and-

a large part Luka's core character thing is all about he has no control in his own life aside from like 1-2 key areas (during performances on the stage, and then he might perceive himself to be in control of Hyuna's life at one point) and this causes him to be extremely controlling, possessive, manipulative and (to his opponents) sadistic so like. literally yeah

it's funny that high school AU!Luka sometimes seems to get assigned fanon characterization that is like "Kyoya Ootori but weirder" because like. on one hand I get it (it might be the glasses + manipulativeness combo), I can see it honestly, and actually I like it too.

on the other hand, my image of high school AU!Luka -- assuming it's in a Luka/Hyuna context, that is -- is more akin to "Jason 'J.D.' Dean if he normally acted more like a Light-esque high achieving straight-A student rather than a delinquent". luka/hyuna is really a lot like JD/veronica in vibes when I think about it

for example: aside from all the stuff in Our Love is God (self-explanatory title and parallel to Ruler of My Heart), later in Meant to Be Yours, he keeps singing "I was meant to be yours" in the chorus until he eventually switches to "You were meant to be mine"

which strikes me as a similar thing to like. Ruler of My Heart where Luka keeps calling "you" (meant to be Hyuna as the song was written for her) his savior and ruler repeatedly, until he sings the line "Make me your god, I can give you everything".
