My first dog, my childhood pet, Lupus passed yesterday. He was 16, or 112 in dog years. A very very old man, especially for a dalmatian! He was born to be a family pet, he’s been with us through all 6 of our childhoods and a total of 4 toddlers, plus his own 11 puppies for a few very stressful months. He wasn’t very smart, couldn’t walk on hard wood floor or he would slip like bambi, would drip slobber on the floor if you were making anything in the kitchen, once nearly gave us carbon monoxide poisoning in his quest to get the sunday dinner roast chicken left of the back of the hob (he and our other dog who passed did in fact pick that chicken clean and we had to get fish and chips on the way back from the hospital after blood tests), and ultimately, was the perfect dog.

I remember the way he would climb on the sofa, stepping on me several times before settling down and sitting with me every night I couldn’t sleep. He would always be so excited to greet me when I came back to visit after I moved out. He had happy tail for like two years straight. He never barked or growled or bit even when my sister played dot to dot on him with felt tips in the 5 minutes she spent unsupervised, or when my other sister practically hung off his neck in a somewhat violent hug before she was pried off. He was kind of a wimp and our other dog who passed a couple of years ago was definitely in charge, and once when we tried them in separate beds, she kicked him out into the small one and he just tried to fit with no argument (the middle picture in the top row). He was so sweet and so stupid and he was the perfect dog. I miss him so much already, I miss him and Skylo, our other dalmatian who passed, and honestly I’m a little mad that he decided to die right now bc I have exams and a million other things and its kind of inconvenient but he always was - sometimes, he would just stand in your way until you had to move him yourself bc he had no idea he was in your way.

in fairness the original castlevania tv series was always gonna be a tough act to follow and I very much dislike a lot of the themes nocturne touches on anyway, but I'm not very impressed so far.

it feels so juvenile in so many ways. the "philosophical" discussions are mostly one cliché after another, the villains are excruciatingly boring (with perhaps the exception of olrox but tbh is he even really a villain), there's no real sense of the story going anywhere, the pacing is pretty subpar, the so-called plot twists have little emotional weight and aren't very surprising for the most part, and for how powerful the villain is the protagonists don't really feel like underdogs at any point because they barely struggle at all throughout most of the season? and then there's the fact that I know quite a bit more about 18th century france than any century wallachia and have a lot of opinions about it. plus all the petty stuff like how I absolutely hate almost all of the character designs (especially tera ugh), am completely unmoved by the soundtrack (lenore death theme my beloved), and would only have room in my heart for one belmont even if richter wasn't so uninteresting.

I do have to admit, however. that for how much I didn't want any of the characters from the og tv series to even be mentioned (plus how little I care about alucard), alucard's appearance did make me gasp a little bit.

and it is only the first season, so who knows? maybe it'll get better. it's not like it's the worst tv series I've ever seen by any means.

DP x DC: The Dead Man at the Diner

Danny has a hard time maintaining regular jobs. At this point he’s pretty much nocturnal after years of being attacked at night, and possibly just part of his ghostly nature. He’s odd, and a basic google search brings up various news articles about him getting into fist fights with the mayor of a small town. He barely passed high school and college was out of the question, so who in their right mind would hire him?

What’s a job that would work with his odd hours, doesn’t require a college education, and a possible criminal record and a tendency to be ready to throw down is NOT an issue?

Danny is a cook at a 24hour Diner in Gotham

The man just needs to be able to flip a burger and make breakfast food and doesn’t mind a gun in the face because he’s well used to it. So what if the robber was dumb enough to pull that shit next to the fryer. If he didn’t want something to end up extra crispy he should have stayed out of Danny’s kitchen

Just think of all the folks he would meet.

Sure, the vigilantes of the city would be obvious and you can’t tell me spoiler isn’t dragging folks there to eat. Maybe they notice some weird things about the cook, like he doesn’t breath, his eyes reflect light like an animal’s, or the time he accidentally cut off a finger and it was fine the next day, or maybe the time a robber shot him and he just... didn’t react

Technically she’s not supposed to bring the hyenas in, health code and all that, but everyone else is to freaked out to tell her and Danny doesn’t care. Frankly he spends his break petting them and they like him because he smells like food.

Something I like to believe (and in a twisted way of wholesomeness) is that when the NDA found Icardi and Servan, there was some righteous fury approaching them. Like these two (mainly Icardi) dragged their youngest teammate into his plan, framing him as a terrorist, and indirectly sending a psychopathic Peacekeeper onto him. I like to imagine when they find Icardi, they charge right onto their boat (to the point of almost crashing into them), with Desuhiko and Halara jumping on them and tying them up (Icardi may have gotten a few bruises during the scuffle) and Yakou keeps a very close eye on the two (again mainly Icardi).
