Juste, Maxim, and Lydie from Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. They have been living in my head for many years since I first played the game, but this is the first time I draw them. But not the last: I am working on a big piece with them, on which I can pour 15 years of concentrated thoughts about them.

Speaking of finely aged, I did just replay the game, and I will write a longer piece about it on Staircase Spirit later, but a quick thought: this time I am of the opinion that it was just too before its time. When it came out people criticized it as too low-res and too colorful, but now there is a new appreciation for this kind of stuff, and if it came out today, I think everyone would be praising the visuals WITH their pixelation. It's too gorgeous, honestly.

i had a reeeaaallyyy fucking weird dream last night so i want to get it out

i wish i could say i forgot most of the details but i didn't. it was all so real, i actually felt like i was going to die lmaooo

so basically, it was night time, and i was juste belmont. stay with me here.

it was night time, in some city. just a generic summer night (oh yeah, the plants were all green and a bit damp, as if it had finished raining earlier) in a generic city.

there was some sort of gathering? i don't think i was even told what type of gathering it was, but i'm guessing it was some party. but anyway mr. beast showed up. a MANIC mr. beast showed up. he had this terrible grin on his face and he started fucking shooting everybody. i didn't bother to look at the bodies, i just started to run. before i ran fully out of the clearing, there were fireworks. i'm not even fucking joking, people were launching fireworks at others and at the ground. it was like they were possessed with the homicidal mr. beast spirit or some shit.

anyway i dodged a firework, ran all over the block to the police station, and talked to a female officer. the problem got sorted out and i remember being absolutely horrified. anyway it was a bit foggy after that but then, it was morning, maybe mid-noon. i was in a completely different area (still in the city though) and i was standing in front of this area.

i don't know how to put this simpler, but basically it was a road circling a parking lot with a few hedges, and then there was this white staircase platform. sort of like those sight-seeing platforms with the goggles, but there were no goggles. anyway that was to my side, and there were houses on one end and houses on the other.

anyway lydie erlanger was on the platform EXCEPT her name was lilith instead for some reason?? anyway, considering i was juste and lilith was standing in front of me, i was ecstatic that she was okay. i ran up to her and we hugged and i kissed her forehead and felt really happy! so that was cool. it was kind of weird because i felt like i knew lilith for years. as if i WAS juste lmao

also her parents showed up. they were like a generic old rich people couple. think a weird mix between pacifica northwest and amity blight's parents, except lilith's parents were nice to people.

anyway, after that i heard something about how we were the only survivors from the attack. so yeah :/

not sure how to end this. beware mr. beast?
