After months of saying I'll finish these, they're finally done. Castlevania chibi stickers and badges are up on Etsy. There's three listings, one for the video game characters, one for the cartoon, and one for the cartoon sequel Nocturne. Making these stickers were a reward unlocked in mine and Julia_boo's donothon back in April.

Here is my totally serious prediction for Castlevania: Nocturne season 2

Having finished Harmony of Dissonance (it was a blast to play, much so than Circle of the Moon) and got a taste of Maxim's mode (he's a glass cannon to play, honestly), it reaffirmed my biggest question since I first watched Nocturne:

Headcanon: I'd like to believe that Maxim is a descendant of Grant Danasty. There are a lot of similarities in their character design, with Maxim looking a lot like a pirate.

How in the hell did Maxim Kischine, a lightning-fast ninja who survived both a duel with a powerful magician like Juste and a near-fatal possession by Dracula, just up and dies to a random vampire?

Playing as Maxim, I highly doubt that a classic vampire that the Netflix writers pulled out of obscure literature would be any match for a juggernaut like him.

This is what I've been up to for the last few days lol

I did one sprite as a test. It's best to draw on a bigger canvas and shrink it down. Of course you need to clean it up later but it's much easier than doing it 1:1 scale

Juste, Maxim, and Lydie from Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. They have been living in my head for many years since I first played the game, but this is the first time I draw them. But not the last: I am working on a big piece with them, on which I can pour 15 years of concentrated thoughts about them.

Speaking of finely aged, I did just replay the game, and I will write a longer piece about it on Staircase Spirit later, but a quick thought: this time I am of the opinion that it was just too before its time. When it came out people criticized it as too low-res and too colorful, but now there is a new appreciation for this kind of stuff, and if it came out today, I think everyone would be praising the visuals WITH their pixelation. It's too gorgeous, honestly.
