I am once again thinking about how odysseus who witnessed the horrors that the captured women went through (one of his main duties in the iliad was taking the women back home and making sure they were as comfortable as possible and safe because he was the only one trusted not to violate them further due to his devotion to penelope. And in the odyssey part of the reason circe sent him to the underworld was so that he'd have to listen to all these women's stories (before he could talk to the prophet) ). Who was one of the few that saw women as people and respected their space and opinions. And was then put in those exact same situations. I don't have the motivation right now to do a full literary analysis of this (I'll site the sources too) but oh man one day I'm going to write a full essay on this.

Lost in Localization: Ritsu's Typing Quirks

when texting, Ritsu always use halfwidth punctuations (.) and (,) instead of the fullwidth ones (。) and (、) like how people who types in Japanese normally do.

here you can see how throughout the chat MC (and everyone else tbh) types their punctuations with fullwidth characters while Ritsu doesn't. this, of course, doesn't carry to the English localization because everything is written with halfwidth characters by default.

i'm pretty sure the reason for this choice is because how Ritsu types is also how attorneys in Japan write their legal documents. there's probably a proper explanation why those documents have to be written like that but this trivia is also just something that i vaguely remember learning from watching a random Detective Conan episode eons ago so pls don't quote me too much on this <(´>ω∂`)>

i just think it's neat how the writers actually cared about getting this detail right!

I just think Hunter was obsessed with Willow and didn't even know it during the period from any sport in a storm to labyrinth runners. They maybe don't talk as often as they could, they're both busy and have conflicting schedules, so when they do talk, Hunter absorbs everything she says.

After roughly 3 weeks of texting (hexting? I feel like the kids would call it hexting), He knows that her favorite colour is orange, she likes her tea with extra milk and a bit of honey during winter, she likes working out to the noisiest angriest music in her playlist, her dad Gilbert is a construction witch who specialises in pottery, she used to listen to breakup songs and think about her childhood best friend (Hunter doesn't know it's Amity) and she actually has a mild pollen allergy despite being a plant witch and has to take potions for it.

He casually drops all this info piece by piece during their stay in the human realm and willows like. Well I can't not marry him. It'll have to be a winter or fall wedding to account for her allergies </3

So why did Mycroft send Sherlock and John to take Irene's phone? It was bound to be protected by a passcode, so there wouldn't be much point in having it. And once Irene becomes a fugitive, Mycroft makes no attempts to retrieve the phone again despite knowing where she is.

One possible explanation is that Mycroft really did think that this was about nothing more than the scandalous photographs of a royal family member at the beginning. He only realized how dangerous Irene was when he learned what happened at her house and learned that the CIA agents were after her too.

Another possible theory is that Mycroft knew the CIA agents would go after Irene, so he sent Sherlock and John as quickly as he could because he didn't want the phone to be in the hands of those agents. Working with them for the Bond Air project made him see how awful they were; he couldn't let them have any more power than necessary, and they were clearly moronic brutes who would make a botch of the situation. Unfortunately, Mycroft miscalculated and the CIA agents arrived at Irene's house while Sherlock and John were still there.

In either case, Mycroft must have despised the American agents, and the feeling must have been mutual by the end. That CIA guy Sherlock threw out his window must have complained, but Mycroft could very easily ignore his grievances by using the fact that he had hurt an old civilian lady. CIA guy would have been enraged. . . and then, Sherlock became the biggest security leak of two nations. I'm sure CIA guy enthusiastically demanded his head, but Mycroft Holmes somehow still managed to protect his little brother. How infuriating that must have been.

like there really is something about the genre shift between beard after hours and the rest of the show, the way it goes from ted’s worldview to beard’s worldview …. And how it’s the ONLY episode to take beardjane seriously in any capacity. showing the texts, the interpersonal communication between them, how beard feels about her (“I am under no illusions that she could solve what ails me, but when I’m with her the world just feels…more interesting.”) like,,,,, basically ever episode, beardjane is treated like a comedic punchline. he’ll say something she did, ted makes a joke. he gets high during a match because she left drugged tea out, ted makes a joke about him drinking tea. she shreds his passport, Ted makes a lighthearted comment about how at least he has another passport. Like. Hm.

Jace hair appreciation post: Jace growing his hair out so he can put it up in a little bun or let Porter braid it. He’s pinning it up super messy with alligator clips, he’s weaving beads into it. He loves how his long wavy hair looks when he wears his maxi skirts with one of Porter’s band tee’s tucked into it with a pair of Zara’s adventuring combat boots. He loves seeing his waves turn into loose curls the longer it gets he loves of unruly it looks when he shuffles into the bathroom in the morning to brush his teeth.

He loves when Porter pulls on it or plays with it. He loves when Zara runs her fingers through his scalp. He loves feeling connected to his elven side of his family. Their hair is on the straighter side but on his non-elven side he gets his curls and he adores it. He loves the texture. He loves building out a hair care routine.
