like there really is something about the genre shift between beard after hours and the rest of the show, the way it goes from ted’s worldview to beard’s worldview …. And how it’s the ONLY episode to take beardjane seriously in any capacity. showing the texts, the interpersonal communication between them, how beard feels about her (“I am under no illusions that she could solve what ails me, but when I’m with her the world just feels…more interesting.”) like,,,,, basically ever episode, beardjane is treated like a comedic punchline. he’ll say something she did, ted makes a joke. he gets high during a match because she left drugged tea out, ted makes a joke about him drinking tea. she shreds his passport, Ted makes a lighthearted comment about how at least he has another passport. Like. Hm.

#the ted vs beard viewpoints are soooo #bah beardjane hits you like a freight train where you can see beard is incredibly mentally ill and pain is something he craves to feel #something. anything. bc there’s something wrong with him and his life isn’t interesting anymore #aka you know. depression.#those texts she sends him. him asking her where she is…..#but in ted viewed episodes it’s just a lighthearted silly couple!!!#their baggage just matches right up!#ted saying that btw is my least favorite thing but to me it also shows how unaware he is about beardjane #but at the same time like. the pub trio and Mae alll know abt her #rebecca knows about her. keeley knows. everyone knows but they don’t care
