Audio Drama Sunday - 15th December ✨
I listened to so much audio drama this week and have so many thoughts!! 🫨
🌨️ @thewhitevault (15) First off all, PSA: someone has been leaving negative comments on Spotify instead of hitting pause and moving on with their life like a normal person would. I personally love the split focus between Goshawk and Cairo and really feel like we’re getting closer to finding out what is actually happening to the sites. Sure, it’s a different kind of tension, but if the show followed the same formula every season it wouldn’t be the best in the game, would it? If everyone could show some love to TWV this week, that would be good!!
🌲 @hellofromthehallowoods (177) damn, I’m sorry but I think Mx Wellman needs to teach action-writing because these scenes are so tense but also fluid and easy to follow! I guess we finally know who the quartet are? I think I had been hoping that it wasn’t going to be the people we knew a little as kids but . . . isn’t that just the way in life that people you knew as children grow up and join a corrupt system of oppression that allows them to perpetrate harm!! Shank remains such an interesting character, of course he’s going to go for the Sheriff’s dpt now, why not! And the actual pig memories made my heart hurt a little.
🔎 @224bbaker (13) Had a relisten this week for the general release and, my god, there are too many banger lines in this ep to list them all but no context giggles include: “Push that down, James, it’s probably nothing.” & “balancing the egos of the hogs, you get it”. ALSO thank god for the transcript because tell me why I initially re-evaluated McMurphy as a character when I thought I was referring to his ex: “Joe Caster” 😭😂 Oops. I love Madge’s arc so far this season - so interesting to have a female lead who has some growing to do in the equality department. And a great gentle reminder for us all to stop appeasing the people holding us down xo
🦋 @remnantspod (19) Another fantastic ep! That heart sinking feeling moments into meeting the teacher! Damn, that’s good writing!! Also, if we’re weighing in on whether someone should be judged on their own terms if they make those terms clear and exacting - I don’t think it is actually possible to judge someone without your own bias affecting your judgement. Now, the current almost-clean-slate of the Apprentice makes this interesting but immediately Sir asks him to compare Adelaide to Sid. Can one judge without comparison?? I don’t think so? Maybe the poor Apprentice was just relieved to have someone finally give some guidance on how to measure a soul. I also found it veryyyy interesting that the Apprentice chose to discard this remnant. It did come across a little bit churlish to me, as though he chose to do that to piss Sir off. But it did remind me of his reaction to Jonny in ep 2. Clearly murder is a touchy subject. . .
🎙️WTNV (258 & 259) Listening to Night Vale is always such an easy little treat for me. Sounds like Steve is about to bite off a bit more than he can chew with a car company that’s literally called detour.
🧋 @hinaypod (25&26) Ooough spooky dolls are spooky! My heart just about tied itself in knots hearing Donner and Mari reconnect and him realise she already had a Halloween Date. Then it froze hearing Mari sob 😭 she’s MY goodly witch and you need to stop making her cry!!!
🗺 @tales-from-the-low-city (13) Absolutely gripping!! It might just be me, but I feel like this season is much darker in tone compared to last and this tale about a Fallen assassin fits right in. I adored the music, it added so much to the tension of the writing without being distracting. Loved it.
🍾 @ameliapodcast (38) I love the fantastical eps as much as the plausible ones!! Truth serum, eh? I can’t wait to find out how this goes wrong 😂
🧳 Travelling Light @monstrousproductions (Q+A part 1) so lovely to hear Hero AND Matt answering the questions. The chat about working to deadlines and making peace with producing lots of work that is good but, most-importantly, finished is …. Really something to think about… I also definitely noticed when Óli disappeared from the polls 😂 it was fun to make the choices more mysterious!!
Have a good week, everyone!!

S6e7 thoughts (finally):
Love the subtle Charah worry for each other in the poison scenes.
Charlie: You didn’t come in contact?
Sarah: No, I’m gloved.
Me: Which literally never stops you from constantly touching your face/hair, but okay.
(Side note: How does Sarah look good in a freaking hazmat suit?)
Jesse. Sense of humour on point.
This joking and respectful s6 Jesse and Joe dynamic is my new favourite thing.
Asshole husband could have been treated to a Rex takedown in my ideal world, but given how complex a story the A plot was, I’ll let it slide.
I love the team closing ranks to investigate this one on their own. More team episodes, please.
Adding the CSIS element was fun. Special Agent Liu would make a great recurring character.
It is here where I go on a tangent about how this show could use a shadowy figure/a big bad/some ongoing story arcs, because if they’re planning a longer run, they can’t sustain just standalone episodes. Or maybe they can, what do I know?
There’s another subtle moment where Sarah takes a beat after she hands Charlie the magically procured antidote. (Also I’m gonna go ahead and assume one of those doses is measured for Rex.)
Wardrobe. We need to talk about Charlie in these denim tuxedos.
Love Sarah casually shining a light into Charlie’s eyes as if she’s actually checking him for injury rather than using it as an excuse to seek that reassurance that her boyfriend is okay after once again nearly dying.
Charlie on the phone with Trina…is that…do I detect a hint of actual continuity? From this show? Dare I hope?
And at this point I go a little off the rails as I get really distracted by 1) the reappearance of The House and 2) the unexpected Charah moment.
The Truong family: I’d wondered if her parents or perhaps grandparents were refugees/immigrants given they’d likely be about the right age for either (look up Vietnamese history in Canada for what I’m talking about.) Sounds like Mr. Truong was for sure. Also they can’t keep mentioning him if they’re not going to show him at some point, can they? Give me Truong family, please.
But anyway now Charah are kissing and they’re totally off to have some hot, passionate “thankful you’re alive” sex.
I love how Rex has become forever protective of Sarah BTW. It’s just a given that he lies on her lap for pats now.
I live for Jesse and Sarah banter.
LOL I missed the “CSIS Safe House” on the screen the first time around. Awkward.
Well I guess we aren’t getting Agent Liu as a recurring character…RIP
I wanted more whump from this last action scene.
(I can’t be the only one who half expected Rex to inject Charlie with the antidote can I?)
Charlie stabbing himself right in the chest with the needle, I just…I’m gonna need a minute.
(Also that little hint of chest hair with a few more buttons undone than usual…help.)
Wardrobe pulls off a win at the ballet studio with Sarah’s outfit and Charlie’s casual top.
I want to see Sarah accompany Sadie to New York…okay maybe I just want to see her punch Ryan in his stupid jerk face.
Rex is a ballet fan.
Interesting. Different. Unique. Way to perfectly round out a team episode, writers. Well done.
Sarah is a Bond fan: might have to work that into a fic.
And they settle on watching Black Swan. LOL I knew Rex was going to dance eventually.

My Hero (Dilf! Liam Gallagher X Reader)
Pairing: Dilf ! Liam Gallagher X Reader
Warnings: angst (Reader is being sexually harassed by a man in the street, fight, mention of blood) Fluff, language (because Liam though)
Words: 1051
Summary: Reader has broken up with her ex a year before it happens. Her ex follows her in the street and stucks her in a park where he sexually harasses her. But reader is lucky to have a certain Liam Gallagher passing by and defending her.
A/N: hello there ! Here is the oneshot I promised. First Dilf Liam for y'all ! For once it hasn’t been requested it’s one of mine. It’s Inspired by a song again, My Hero by the Foo Fighters. As you all know it’s been hard for me lately and it still is and I have a lot of work because of college so I’m trying my best to publish something when I can. I’ll be available during the Christmas holidays because teachers never give us homework during this period in general, so I’ll publish more.
Anyway, enjoy!
It was 6 pm and You were walking home after a day of hard work.
Night had fallen, and you were almost arrived at Your place.
You were crossing the park when suddenly someone grabbed You from behind, with his hand on your mouth.
He stuck you against a tree, using all his strength on you.
You had a few ideas of who it could be, and you weren’t wrong when you saw his face.
Joe, leave me alone! How many times do I have to tell you?!
I’ll never leave you alone you little bitch, you’re mine you hear me? You have been for 5 years now!
Joe, you and I are not together anymore! It’s been a year, get over it and stop harassing me! Stop following me everywhere I’m going, stop sleeping in the stairs of my building and stop waiting for me after work! I don’t want to see you anymore! So now fuck off you fucking psychopath or I’m going to complain to the police!
Go on, go to the police, but they won’t find me. And first before you go, I’m going to do this.
Joe started to touch your intimate parts through your clothes, and you begged him to stop, but he didn’t.
So you started screaming for help, and he put his hand on your mouth, depriving you to make any noise than could disturb him in his actions.
-don’t you dare! He said punching you in the face
You fell on your knees, and he got you up by grabbing your hair. Your nose was bleeding.
You started crying, helpless until you heard another masculine voice.
Oi mate, what the fuck do you think you’re doing?
Piss off, it’s none of your business!
I heard her scream, it’s my business. Are ye okay?
No I’m not please help me! You begged
Joe tried to slap you again. You closed your eyes in the process, scared of this hand that was going to hurt your face again.
But you didn’t feel it, and instead you heard grunts.
You opened your eyes and saw the man beating up your ex-boyfriend.
You saw blood spill out of his nose and mouth, your saviour was going to kill him.
-stop please, you’re going to kill him, leave him here. You begged again
You saw the man had trouble to stop punching your ex-boyfriend.
So you put your hand on his shoulder and stopped his first with your other one.
Please, stop. You said, crying
It immediately stopped him.
Your hero stood up. He was taller than you but not a lot. That’s when you recognized him.
-Where are ye living?
- just at the end of the park.
- so we’re neighbours then. Come on, I’ll walk ye home.
- it’s okay Liam, I can…
- no fucking way. After what happened I’m not letting you walk home alone. Once at yer place we’ll call the police.
He walked you home, and even enter your place with you.
Sit down on yer sofa, I’ll bring ye water and…where do ye put the material to treat yerself?
In my bathroom, third door.
I’ll go.
And Liam…
What?
Thank you.
Don’t thank me it’s normal.
Your first thought wasn’t that you were traumatised. It was a song. Liam was your hero. And you thought « there goes my hero, watch him as he goes »
He came back with a glass of water and some alcohol and compresses, to disinfect wounds.
Okay it might hurt a bit, but I saw you’re a strong lady, so you’re gonna be strong yeah?
Yes Liam, I will, it’s not the first time I’ve been hurt you know?
Yeah, well…
He soaked the compress with alcohol and removed the blood from under your nostrils and disinfected the long wound on your nose.
You didn't even wince as the wound stung you badly.
Can I ask ye a question? He said
Go on.
Who was this guy? You seemed to know him.
Huh… he was my ex.
Your ex?! How …
I broke up with him last year, and he keeps following me everywhere I go, he harasses me, I don’t know how to stop this.
Have you been to the police?
No.
Why?
He has something against me.
What?
I can’t tell you, it’s…
Personal, okay, I understand. And during your relationship, was he always like that? Did he beat ye up?
No, not when we were together. But he had things he could reveal about me. So I always had to do as he told.
For duck’s sake, why did you date a man like that?
He wasn’t like this when I started dating him. He was far different. I don’t know what snapped inside him to become like this.
He didn’t become like this. He already was. You just didn’t know.
He finished curing you and threw the compresses on your living room table.
Thank you Liam. You’re my hero.
Don’t call me that. I just did what I had to do that’s all.
I mean it.
Yeah okay, but I’m not your hero. I’m no one’s hero, right? I’m just doing what was needed.
I …
Liam silenced you by crushing his lips on yours. His tongue met yours in a tender kiss. As if he wanted to comfort you.
When he separated from you, you kept your eyes closed for a second.
What was that for? You asked
I love the sounds that come out from this pretty mouth, right? But not when it’s calling me a hero. I hate this fucking word.
Alright I won’t call you a hero anymore then.
Now, call the cops. They need to know.
But what if Joe talks to them? You’ll be arrested!
Don’t worry sweetheart, it won’t be the first time I get arrested. He said winking at you
Yes, I know that.
Now at least, I would have a reason to see you. I know where you live.
Smartass.

look out with me at this beauty
For @nilefreemanweek2021 and the prompt Childhood. While protesting a pipeline, Nile sees something in the distance that reminds her of a family vacation she took as a child. You can read it below or over on my ao3 account here. Gen | Rated G | 1.7k
“You would think,” Nile said in disgust, “that after how many times these things have broken, we wouldn’t have to be right here, protesting them making yet another pipeline.”
“Profits before the people,” Andy said drily from where she was standing next to Nile.
“Ughhhhhhhh,” Nile groaned.
Nicky and Joe returned from giving out water and food to the other protestors and handed over the remaining bottles and granola bars. Nile ripped one open and tore a bite off viciously.
She looked out, past the line of police officers that were attempting to intimidate her and the other protestors standing in the path of the pipeline. In the distance, she could see a piece of higher land going up into the sky. She squinted, but it didn’t become any clearer.
“Hey, guys, what’s that?” she asked, pointing at it.
Andy looked over. “Oh. I remember that place. We were here in the… uh, late 1800s? Trying to push back the expansion of settlers onto the native people’s land. The tribes in the area had many names for it, but the one I remember is Bear Mountain.”
“Bear Mountain…” Nile muttered, pulling out her phone. She typed “Bear Mountain South Dakota” into the search bar and started reading the results. “Oh,” she said quietly.
“What is it, Nile?” Nicky asked.
“It’s also called Bear Butte.”
She swallowed, then said, “My family and I went there when I was a kid.”
“Would you like to tell us about it?” Nicky asked. He kept one eye on the police, but turned most of his attention to Nile.
The others did the same, settling in for the long haul.
_____________________________________
The field of sunflowers whipped past Nile’s window and to her ten-year-old brain, they seemed to go on forever. Jordan was kicking the back of her mom’s seat and she turned to look at him and said, “Child, if you don’t want to walk there, you will stop that right now.”
He stopped, pouting.
“I’m bored,” he said.
“Look outside, Jordan! You can see forever!” Nile said, trying to distract him.
It worked for a few minutes, but then he was kicking again. Nile’s mom looked at the ceiling of the van, and Nile knew that her patience was being tested.
“Hey Jordan, I spy with my little eye, something that starts with the letter S,” Nile said.
Nile’s mom sent her a smile, which Nile returned.
He looked around, taking in the options. “Sky?” he asked.
“Nope!”
“Street?”
“This is a highway, dummy.”
He frowned and opened his mouth to retaliate, but she just said, “C’mon, you can get it! It starts with S!”
Jordan looked out the window and brightened. “SUNFLOWERS!” he shouted at the top of his lungs.
Nile nodded as her parents took deep breaths, then let them out.
“Your turn!” she said.
Their game lasted another hour, then they stopped at a rest area to go to the bathroom. Jordan climbed on the playground while Nile swung on a swing in the kid’s area, as their parents watched from one of the nearby park benches.
They had been driving since early that morning, but her parents had warned that they wouldn’t arrive at the hotel until late.
“So no swimming?” Nile had asked, trying not to pout.
Her dad had laughed. “Maybe not the first night, but I promise we will swim before we come home.”
She nodded, satisfied.
They were going to Bear Butte in South Dakota. Jordan had giggled when he had seen how close butte was to butt. That had started a conversation about how this was a sacred place for the Native Americans in the area, and while the Freeman’s were there, they were to treat the place with respect.
“Dad, if it’s for Native Americans, why are we going there?” Nile had asked, brow furrowed.
“A few guys in my division went there when they were in Sturgis for a big motorcycle rally. Said that it was a beautiful area and that you could feel the history and spirit of the place in the air. I want to see it for myself,” he explained.
Nile didn’t really get it, but she nodded anyway.
Luckily, Jordan had tired himself out on the playground, so he crashed for a while after they got back in the van. Nile pulled out Maniac Magee, the book one of her teachers had recommended at the end of the school year, and began to lose herself in between its pages.
They stopped for food somewhere in South Dakota, but still had a few hours to go. It was getting dark, the sun setting over the fields as they flashed by, and Nile was entranced by the colors streaking across the sky. She pulled out her folder of paper and tried to recreate it with her colored pencils, but the road was bumpy and the colors didn’t do it justice.
Her dad insisted on putting it on the dash anyway.
“Anyone looking at this vehicle will know that there is an artist on board,” he said, smiling at her.
Even Nile was dozing by the time that they pulled into the hotel parking lot. She dragged Jordan behind her, holding onto his hand, until they could get up in the room.
“Whoa…” she said, looking around.
There were two queen sized beds, a giant tv, a microwave, and a fridge in the room. She went to get on the bed, but her mom said, “Wait a minute.”
She took the covers off and put them to the side.
“Alright, now you can get on. But no jumping. There are people below us,” she said.
Nile frowned. Well, that stopped what she was going to do.
Jordan and Nile got one bed and her mom and dad took the other. They had waffles for breakfast and Jordan thought the machine that made them was the coolest thing. Her dad had actually made the waffles, but he had let Jordan flip the griddle, which he did with glee.
They drove a little bit out of town and parked. Nile’s dad shouldered the backpack that Nile’s mom had packed full of water, sunscreen, and snacks.
“Remember, you two, do not touch the pieces of cloth on the trees. They are prayer cloths and they are not to be disturbed. Do not go off the path. And try to be respectful and quiet. Okay?” their dad said.
They nodded, and set off.
It was a gentle slope upwards at first, and then they were pushing themselves up the hills. There were a lot of trees right by the trail, and Nile watched as the pieces of fabric tied to the trees swayed in the breeze. They were pretty.
Then they reached a flatter area with a wooden railing and looked out to see down the hill and out into the fields beyond.
“Cool…” Nile breathed, taking it all in.
They kept going, and Nile eventually stopped looking ahead and just kept looking around, taking in all the trees and grass and fields around her. They crested a hill and Nile looked down the hill and suddenly stopped.
“Dad, why do the trees look like that?” she asked.
There were many trees that were on their sides, barkless and white against the grass.
“There was a fire here in the late 90’s that burnt up a lot of the trees. The grass has grown back, but the trees couldn’t be saved,” he explained.
“Oh,” she said, feeling a sadness she couldn’t really explain. This was all so beautiful. It hurt to see the remnants of destruction here.
“Hey,” he said gently, kneeling beside her. “Look at it this way. All of this,” he said, gesturing to all the nature around them, “went through something terrible, and it managed to come back from that. I think that’s inspiring more than anything. What do you think?”
Nile thought about it, then nodded.
“Good,” he said. “C’mon, Nile. I hear the view from the top is incredible.”
It took a long time for them to get there. They had to stop for water breaks a bunch and a snack break too. But then they finally took the steps to the wooden platform at the top of the Butte and Nile and Jordan ran to the railing to look out over everything.
“Whoa…”
Nile had thought that she could see for miles before. But it was nothing compared to how far she could see now! She and Jordan ran from one side of the platform to the next, looking out at the different angles and what they could see from each.
Eventually, the novelty wore off, and they settled on one of the benches for a few more snacks and some water.
Nile’s dad was still standing at the railing, and Nile joined him after she finished eating.
They didn’t say anything for a while, just looked out together as the wind rushed over them. She leaned into his side and his arm came around her, holding her there. Any chill she would have felt from the breeze was lost in the warmth from her dad’s body.
“This is the kind of thing that I fight to protect,” he said softly.
If Nile wasn’t so close to him, she might not have heard him.
“It’s really pretty,” she agreed.
He blinked, and looked down at her. “I fight to protect you too, my little river,” he said, pulling one of her braids lightly.
They grinned at one another, the moment broken, then left the railing and its beautiful view behind them.
__________________________________
They had done more on the trip, had even gone swimming in the pool at the hotel. But that first day was the thing that stuck most in Nile’s brain, years later.
“Turns out, that was the last time my dad was home before he was killed in action,” Nile finished. “So I’m glad we got to have that time.”
“I am glad we are here,” Nicky said thoughtfully. “Protecting this view the two of you looked out on.”
Nile’s heart clenched, but she nodded.
“He died fighting for places like this,” she said. She turned to the police officers who were closing in. “Let’s make sure none of these people do the same.”

“There’s a huge-ass spider on the ceiling.” jackie and eric!
For context: Jackie and Hyde are helping Donna and Eric move from their apartment to a new house. Hyde and Donna are in the house, moving some furniture around, and they left Eric and Jackie at the apartment to finish packing the rest of the things.
I don’t know why this specific scenario popped in my head, but it did and it sounded fun. Enjoy!
"Careful with the GI Joes, Jackie!" Eric yelled, and Jackie rolled her eyes
"Those are dolls, Eric!"
"Not dolls, action figures!”
“Whatever, I can’t believe Steven made me stay here to help you pack all your horrible clothes and your dolls”
“Well, I’m not very happy about it either, devil,” Eric said as he used duct tape to close a box “I mean, I get why he forbade you from carrying the furniture with him and Donna, since you’re... y’know...”
“Pregnant, Eric” Jackie completed his sentence, rolling her eyes “I’m pregnant. It’s not a curse word”
“Yeah, that” Eric said “But why can’t I help them? I can move some stuff around!”
“No, you can’t” Jackie replied snottily, sitting on top of one of the closed boxes and placing her hand on top of her growing belly “You can barely carry these boxes to Steven’s car! If you tried moving actual furniture, you would probably end up in the hospital”
“You’re exaggerating, I’ve carried heavy stuff before”
“No, you haven’t. You can’t even do a pull-up”
“Hey, I can do half a pull-up, okay?!” Eric said, “And I doubt you can do a pull-up too, so... suck it, yeah!”
“I’m six months pregnant, you idiot! Of course I can’t do a pull-up! And even if I could, Steven wouldn’t let me”
Eric rolled his eyes “You’re probably right, Hyde won’t let you do anything anymore. It’s annoying”
“I think you meant adorable,” Jackie said with a dreamy smile “It just shows how much he cares”
“Donna said that if I act that way in a few years when she’s pregnant, she would kill me” Eric replied “And I don’t doubt that”
“Neither do I,” Jackie said, watching as Eric picked up a closed box in his arms and walked to the door “Hey, can you pick up my purse for me? I packed a few snacks and I really want to eat them. It’s on the kitchen counter”
“Fine” Eric grumbled, opening the door and leaving the room.
Jackie started to examine her nails, her mouth watering at the thought of the kit kat bars she packed on her purse. She was thinking about them all day, and she couldn’t wait to eat them.
Then she heard a girly scream, and she raised her head just in time to see Eric barging inside the room, slamming the door closed behind him.
She raised an eyebrow at the sight of him resting his head against the wall, trying to catch his breath.
“What the hell is going on?!”
“Jackie, there’s a huge-ass spider on the ceiling!” Eric shrieked, pointing at the closed bedroom door
“What?!”
“A spider! There’s a huge spider on the hallway’s ceiling! And it was... It was staring at me, man!” Eric said exasperatedly “It was like, huge, Jackie! And it was going to kill me, I just know it!”
“Oh crap!” Jackie said “What are you waiting for?! Kill it!”
“Why can’t you kill it?”
“I’m terrified of spiders!” Jackie said, “Steven’s the one who kills the spiders at our place!”
“And Donna’s the one who kills the spiders in ours!”
“Oh God... What are we going to do?!”
“Jackie, scream,” Eric said desperately “If you scream, Hyde’s going to show up and kill it for us”
“But Steven won’t be back here for another hour!”
“That doesn’t matter, you know he has a sixth sense! He’s like spiderman when it comes to you, especially now that you’re carrying his evil spawn! If you scream, he’ll know, and he’ll come”
“I’m not going to scream!” Jackie said, “What if it upsets the baby?!”
“You’re upsetting me! I’m kind of a baby!”
Jackie frowned “God, do you hear the things that come out of your mouth?”
“Yeah, I heard it as I was saying it,” Eric said “It did not sound good”
“You think?!”
Eric ran his hands through his face, but he felt a slight glimmer of hope sparking through his chest when he remembered the little treat he brought with him.
He grabbed the Twonkie from his jacket pocket and smiled, nothing than a delicious sugary treat to make him forget about this hellish situation. “What’s that in your hands?” Jackie asked curiously
“A Twonkie” Eric replied “I brought one with me in case I get hungry”
Before Jackie could answer, Eric sighed dejectedly and sat on top of one of the boxes.
“We’re stuck in here for another hour, aren’t we?”
“Yep,” Jackie said, leaning her head against the wall and staring at the ceiling “And I’m hungry. Give me your Twonkie, Eric”
“What?! No!” Eric said, holding the Twonkie protectively against his chest
“If you don’t give me the Twonkie, I’ll tell Steven that you made me cry,” Jackie said
“That’s not fair! You’ve been crying all the time now, and...”
“GIVE ME!” Jackie yelled, and Eric immediately handed her the candy.
“Thank you!” Jackie said sweetly, and Eric buried his head in his hands.
This is going to be a long hour.
*
By the way, the spider was the size of a pea, and Hyde killed it within a second when he arrived with Donna.
Thanks for sending a prompt!

Hiii, can I request something of Ronald Speirs and maybe a German girl that was found in the eagle’s nest or some abandoned buildings just like that?😊 it just come through my mind haha
Happy holiday💕💕
Seeking Refuge // Ronald Speirs Imagine
Taglist: @alienoresimagines @ricksmorty @punkgeekcryptid @hellitwasyoufirstsergeant @valterras @adamantiumdragonfly
Word Count: 3,036
Ronald walked the edge of the destroyed practically destroyed Nazi base. The crunching of the snow beneath his Army Issued boots. His firearm held tight;y within his beaten and calloused fingers. The face paint slicked onto his cheeks as he kept a stern eye. Nazi prisoners walking past them in a long line, their hands up above their heads. Stripped of any weapons and any valuables. A cigarette balanced between his lips. The nicotine slipped down his throat. It was calming things for him.
Peering in rooms, searching around for any Intel. Any prisoners. Really anything to be honest. It was a large base. Multiple large buildings with bunches of small buildings here and there. Soldiers searched all the buildings. Shuffling with papers needed to be translated, snagging things of value of course. Flags, medals, maybe even some pieces of clothing from the prisoners taken and or from the dead that lay around.
Ronald had sat within a building, his feet propped up on the desk in front of him, picking his teeth with a toothpick. His weapon lay on his lap, and his helmet rested on the same old, and beaten wooden desk. Humming to himself, enjoying the small moment of somewhat relaxation. Watching the paratroopers of all types of ranks bustled in and out of the building. The commanding officers stayed within the building, making it their headquarters.
Papers began to pile up, Soldiers coming in to report what the new POWs had told them. Everything was going rather smoothly. It made Ronald a little uneasy. Nothing for these paratroopers ever went easy for them it seemed. And of course, that uneasy feeling seemed to be true when Liebgott, Martin, Perconte and Randleman all came in to stand in front of the officers. The Captain stood and looked to the men. Raising an eyebrow.
“Sir, there is only one last building that has yet to be searched. But we believe there could be some Krauts in there, sir. Men have reported some banging around, some footsteps. We were in need of an officer to be present, sir,” Martin spoke up. Standing at attention of course, along with the rest of the men. Speirs crossed his arms over his chest, as much as he didn’t want to get up, he was going to. It was his job after all.
“All right, let’s head over there then to get it done and over with. We need to get on the move soon anyways,” he responded, Already beginning to make his way past the men. The small group already followed his lead.
///
The old German home the small squad approached was just as worn down and partially destroyed as the others. It was quiet, just like the rest of the town. That was merely a ghost town without the American Military within it.
Speirs took a few steps forward, approaching the front door. “Have you men even been within this home yet?” he asked. Turning to look back over his shoulder at the four paratroopers. All of them shaking their heads. Making the officer scoff slightly and carrying on walking within the building, stepping through the doorway. The old house smelled of mildew and was damp all around the inside. The rainstorms had definitely gotten to this home over it’s time of use. The old furniture matched the disarray of the home. Chairs knocked over. A small table broken to pieces. Shattered plates and cups spreading across the floor and crunching beneath their boots. It wasn’t like they hadn’t seen something like this. The German’s had no care in the world what they did to people’s belongings. Especially within the smaller German cities. They took what they wanted. Valuables, women, lives. Anything. And if they didn’t want it, they merely destroyed it.
Ronald picked up a few silver spoons and forks that spread across the creaky, wooden floorboards of the home. Stuffing them in his bag. He never could turn down some more silver to send back home. Sticky fingers of course. Continuing to search the one floor home. It wasn’t too big, and it wasn’t too small either. It was a good family home, and Ronald imagined what it would look like if it was still normal. No broken furniture, or shattered plates and cups. A happy family merely walking around and enjoying a nice meal at the table. It was something Ronald secretly always did. Imagine what life within these towns and cities would be like if there was no war. What he would do if there was no war. Where would he be?
Ronald and the men were all pulled out of their thoughts and searching when a crash of a pot shattering rang from the basement below. All of their heads snapping to the worn, wooden door that was the only thing that could possibly lead to the basement below. Ronald’s eyes narrowed at the door as he motioned for the men to move up. Liebgott took point and made his way towards the door. Pointing his firearm down at the door. Reaching for the doorknob slowly. His hand only centimetres away.
Leibgott didn’t even get a chance to grab the doorknob, the door flew open and a woman came out screaming. A knife within her grasp. “Fahr zur Hölle, ihr Nazis!” (Go to hell, you Nazis.) She screamed. Knocking Joe right off his feet and slashing his bicep with the knife. Randleman jumped to action and grabbed onto her. Wrapping her arms around her stomach and hoisting her up and yanking her back. Bull fell back against a small table causing the rest of whatever else was on it to fall and crash onto the ground. The woman kicked and screamed while Joe stood and pressed a hand on the new gash on his arm. Ronald went and snatched the knife from her hand and threw it to the side.
“What is she saying, Leib? Gah! Calm down, woman!” Martin yelled, while Ronald went to help Joe stand and grab a random cloth and pressing it against his arm.
“She thinks we are the Germans,” Joe grunted. Looking towards the H/C woman. Approaching her and watching her heave within the arms of Randleman. “Wir sind Amerikaner, keine Nazis,” (We are Americans, not Nazis). Showing the American flag patch on his arm.
Ronald watched as her emotions changed greatly. Staring through the mess of her hair as she panted. “Put me down. I have no more weapons, I will comply now,” the German woman spoke through a heavy accent. Everyone fell silent for a moment. The junior enlisted and NCOs turned towards their Captain for an answer. Ronald thought for a moment and stared at the woman who seemingly relaxed. His eyes meeting hers. He could almost read her with just the look on her face and her eyes.
Her skin was pale, skinnier than she should’ve been. Bruised littered her arms and legs. Her dress was torn and worn down greatly. “Let her go, she needs to go to Doc Roe. Maybe she could give us some information,” he stated. Watching as Bull placed her down gently. She wobbled slightly.
“I’m sorry I cut you, I thought you were the Gestapo. I will give you the little food and medical supplies I have left,” she offered. Her hands folding in front of her. Joe looked down at her and shook his head. He was frustrated, he always had a short temper. But he cooled down.
“It is fine,” he trailed off. He noticed a familiar symbol that rested on a necklace around her neck. A silver Star of David. “You are Jewish? I am too,” he told her. The woman just nodded as they began to walk out.
“How long have you been hiding there?” asked Ronald. He was amazed she held up that long. How the Germans never looked into that basement. The flats she wore were practically worn away.
“I stopped counting after about a month, they never saw me there. And when they searched the basement when they first showed up, I hid in a crawl space my father had made for me when the entirety of the Gestapo began to go around Germany. And when they raided my town, my parents sent me down there. I heard them be taken away, and I hid and stayed quiet. They never found me,” she spoke very quietly. It made her voice harder to understand in a way due to her accent. They all merely listened as they walked. “And when you soldiers came into this home again, I heard all the gunfire, and I thought you guys lost against them. So when I heard footsteps, I knocked that pot over. I thought I was done for. The only weapon I had was that old knife my father gave me,” she paused for a moment. “I would rather die fighting then to be sent where the rest of the Jews in this area went,” the young woman finished.
///
Ronald and the men brought her to Doc who got the small wounds she had and treated them carefully. Along with Leib’s arm wound. Ronald turned and his heart nearly softened at the sight of her. It was clear she knew what really happened to her parents. And now she was alone in this big world. “Martin, run and get her some food. Try to get some warm grub,” he told the NCO that stood besides him. Martin merely nodded with a quick ‘Yes, sir’ and ran off to get her some food. Going to stand in front of the woman while Roe still wrapped up one of her ankles.
“So, what is your name?” he asked. No matter what Ronald Speirs said, or how he said it, he just seemed too intimidating. To anyone really. But the young woman didn’t seem fazed by it at all. He understood it though. She had probably been through, and seen things, more than anyone could ever understand, or even think of in that matter.
“Y/N. My name is Y/N L/N,” she answered tiredly. A steaming cup of coffee within her hand. He watched as she slowly brought it to her lips and tilted it back. It was freezing this time of year, and all she wore was a torn dress and some flats. “You know, I never did like coffee all that much. I usually tea, but this American coffee is just so warm, it is perfect,” Y/N spoke with a chuckle. And without even thinking, the Paratrooper officer began to pull off his field jacket.
“Here, take this for now. I can probably get you some warmer clothes,” Ronald said as he gently draped the jacket around her shoulders. It seemed rather bigger on her no doubt. The young woman was frail, not dangerously skinny, but clear to the eyes that she was definitely underweight.
Y/N hugged the jacket around her body. Looking back up at Spiers. “Thank you. You Americans are so kind to me. I am still very sorry for attacking one of your men,” She stood and walked in front of Ronald. “I am at service to you men, I might be able to help you on where the Germans are and are going to. I believe they have a base just a few miles from here,” Y/N offered. Ronald merely just nodded.
“That sounds good, but why don’t we find you a place to rest first. We are going to be stationed in this town for a little while. I can get you situated where the rest of the officers are staying,” Ronald responded, tossing a thumb over his shoulder. “You can talk to our officer in charge, Major Winter,” he told her.
Y/N just nodded. “That will be fine, should we head over now?” she asked quietly. Her eyes batted at Ronald, her face was tired and you could almost see the sadness she hid just sitting within her eyes. It made Ronald feel something he thought he would never feel for a long time. Remorse.
Ronald nodded and turned on his heels quickly to face away from her. He couldn’t let emotions end up getting in the way of the mission. But, this was different. Was it? Or was he actually feeling for the young female he had just met. Something about her, even though meeting her just a few hours ago, made her stick to him almost. He just tried to push away the feelings all together, or the thoughts.
///
Speirs had gotten Y/N within the officer’s HQ, finding an empty room. It wasn’t much. An old, rickety bed with a thin mattress. It wasn’t much, but with a few extra blankets he had found for her, it would make a halfway decent room until they could find Y/N a way to get into a new city to start over.
Y/N entered the room and looked around. “This was the Rabbi’s home,” she spoke up. Sitting on the bed. “It is a shame I’ll never see them again.” it shocked Ronald at how calm she was saying those words. Her eyes were still soft and sad as she smoothed out her skirt. A sigh escaping her dry and cracked lips.
“How do you know you won’t ever see him again, or the rest of your family?” Ronald asked. Everyone had heard about the work camps. But nothing really solid. But Y/N seemed to understand at least one thing that came out of them. Evil.
“We weren’t the first ones to be deported from here. First they took the foreign Jews. Some were excited to go, but then we realized that they weren’t coming back after seven months. There were rumors that the Hitler had ordered his soldiers to kill them all. And some rumors that they were just working within factories. But when they came to gather the rest of us, it was different. Forcing us out of our homes, pushing and shoving men and women. I watched a woman be hit by the butt of some soldier’s gun. And then a few boys I knew, they were only about nineteen. Making them just four years younger than me, they fought back against a few of the Nazi soldiers. Merely just shoving them. And they shot them. Without hesitation,” taking a shaking breath, she looked back up to Ronald. “We know now that whenever a Jew goes with the Nazis. They aren’t coming back,” she whispered.
Ronald, a man of harshness and lacking the ability to show emotions in a time like this for a civilian. He didn’t exactly know how to respond. He just watched her facial expressions change as she told him the truths of what she saw. And after a few minutes of just silence, Ronald slowly placed a hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“We had prayed you Americans would come. And at least you did now. I think I would freeze to death if I stayed in that basement another week,” she commented. Ronald just nodded and still didn’t have anything to say to her. “Thank you, Captain Speirs. Thank you for your men’s services,” her eyes were soft, and a smile soon appeared on her lips. It was the first time he saw her smile, and Ronald would never forget it. She was pretty. More than pretty, but Ronald just couldn’t find the right word to call it. Even covered in dirt and sweat.
“It.. don’t worry about it,” he said with a nod. “Why don’t you get some rest, we can get you some chow- I mean some hot food in a little while,” he offered. And Y/N merely just nodded. Picking up the blankets and getting beneath it all and rolling onto her side. Hearing one final yawn come from the woman before finally falling asleep.
Ronald stood there in the doorway for a few minutes. Making sure she had actually fallen asleep. That was until Major Winters came and placed a hand on Speirs’ shoulder. Making the Captain turn to look at him.
“Sir,” he said with a nod. Winters returned the nod then went back to the sleeping female.
“So what is the deal with this civilian?” Winters asked. Ronald turned back to the sleeping female. A part of him didn’t want to see her go, and he was kicking himself for it. A small shrug he gave as he took a moment to think.
“She seems to have a lot of information. About the camps, the German forces, even about a base nearby. She is fluent in German and English. In my personal opinion, sir, I think she could be a good help to us,” pausing for a minute to collect himself and place himself in check for a moment. “Then bring her to a refuge center, hospital, or something. There isn’t anything left of this town. And she says her family is most definitely dead,” he added.
Winters just nodded slightly, and a quiet chuckle fell from his lips. Causing a confused look from the officer that stood besides him. “If you believe that is what we must do, we will do it. Just never see you to be soft,” he said with a pat on his shoulder. Ronald’s eyes widened slightly and his mouth opened, wanting to defend himself. To which Major Winters just shook his head slightly, and Ronald closed his mouth. Turning his head away in slight embarrassment. “I won’t say anything, but we’ll take good care of her. You can’t be all tough all the time. I knew you would feel soft for someone eventually,” he snickered. Turning on his heels to walk away from the room.
While shaking his head, Ronald turned back to the woman sleeping in front him. Waiting for Winter’s boots to fade completely. A sigh he made while watching Y/N breathe within her sleep. “Damn,” was all he said. Staring down at the floor then rubbing his face quickly. Looking at the woman once more before turning around and just walking off. Letting her sleep and wanting to figure out how to get himself out of the rut he had placed himself in.
One that made his heart skip a beat.

With upcoming roles in not just in “Cherry,” the British star is also currently filming the still-untitled “Spider-Man” sequel from director Jon Watts. Holland opens up about preparing for his role as a soldier turned drug addict and then turned bank robber, along with what we can expect from the new superhero movie next year, which he calls “the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made.” Finally, he touches upon getting an itch for directing and how his dream role is to play James Bond and work with Maggie Smith. Listen to the podcast below!
Why did you choose “Cherry” for your first project following the MCU films?
Tom Holland: I don’t really know why now. I would have accepted this job; whoever it was, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. And I got to work with the Russos [Anthony and Joe] again. People that I really respect and I look up to and admire their work. The subject matter is really important. I think we’re doing a service to society by shining the light on a problem that is happening on everybody’s doorstep, which is substance abuse, overmedicating people, and not treating PTSD in the correct way. And also, it was a challenge. I love a challenge. I love pushing myself. Hard work is good work. So it was a bit of a no-brainer, this film, and I can’t imagine there was any way in which I would have turned it down and walked away.
As a former child actor, was there a particular film that really inspired you to get into this business?
Holland: That’s a good question. There are definitely films that I’ve watched as a young kid where I’ve gone “Wow, I would love to be able to play a character like that.” I was 11 when I first went on stage for “Billy Elliot,” and I was too young to think about the future of my career. I never decided to become an actor. It’s just something that happened to my life. It happened to me, and I just never stopped. I was just really lucky that I was able to continue doing it for as long as I have been doing it. Working with Naomi Watts on “The Impossible” was the time where I realized that this was something that I could do for a living. The first time I was like, “Oh, wow, I could actually maybe be an actor.”
Is there a film or performance that’s your favorite of all-time?
Holland: “Primal Fear” for me is one of my all-time favorite performances from Edward Norton. I think he is just picture-perfect, and there is not anything about his performance that you could tweak to make it better. So that’s a film I’ve to continue to learn from.
What was it like working with your co-star Ciara Bravo on “Cherry?”
Holland: Let me start by saying what a pleasure it was to work with her and get to know her. She’s an amazing actress, and the film wouldn’t be half the film without the performance that she gives. I remember I wasn’t at all involved in the casting process of Emily’s character. And I remember The Russos sent me Ciara’s audition tape two or three months before we started production. And for the first time in my career, I was so intimidated. I saw her tape, and I was like, “Oh, she’s like, too good,” and I need to do more work, because she’s going to act me off the screen, and no one’s going to want to follow my character. I thought the Russos were going to be like, “fuck you, Tom Holland, we’re rewriting the film with her now.”
I was so intimidated, and we were so lucky that she was so confident. You can only imagine she’s a young actress. She’s working with the two biggest directors, arguably of all time at the moment, and, and she’s working on this really difficult film with the tricky subject matter. She was so confident, brave, talented, and unselfish in the way that she went about making the film.
How did you prepare your unnamed character in “Cherry” in terms of meeting with addicts or veterans?
Holland: We did quite a lot of research. We spent a lot of time at the VA in Cleveland, and we were interviewing veterans who were suffering from PTSD and substance abuse and trying to seek help. It was an amazing process because it really showed me that therapy works. That these men and women were healing, and they were getting better. We met people at the beginning of their treatment, and they were really closed off, and they weren’t quite comfortable enough to share the stories.
We had people in the middle of their treatment who were getting to that stage where they were willing to open up. So some of them didn’t want to open up to a 24-year-old actor making a movie. Then the people at the end of their treatment who have made peace with their decisions and their mistakes were able to own it. They would tell us the stories and almost tell them proudly. I think one of the big problems in our society is that if you say to someone, “I’m going to rehab,” immediately the reaction is like, “Oh my god, that must mean that you’re really messed up.”
But what the reaction should be is, “Congratulations…that’s amazing. I’m really proud of you that you’re seeking help and that you’ve recognized that you’re in trouble.” I’m hoping that this film can do that for some people. And that, we can maybe stop some kids from falling into this trap of addiction in the future.
After working so much with The Russo Brothers, are you getting an itch to direct in the future?
Holland: Yes, absolutely. I’ve been trying to scratch that itch for a really long time. And my younger brother Harry and I have been writing a script together. We managed to acquire the rights to a book series that we loved as kids. So we’ve been sort of chipping away at that. I now have so much more respect for writers because it’s so difficult, man. I mean, trying to put something on the page is really, really quite difficult. I’d love to direct one day. We’re not rushing anything because I think the project we’re working on is amazing and can be quite powerful. So we want to make sure we get it right. But hopefully, within the next five years, you’ll see Harry and I sitting in the director’s chairs shouting action.
Can you tell us anything about the upcoming “Spider-Man” movie that you’re filming?
Holland: Obviously, I can’t really say anything.
You can tell us what happens at the end, right?
Holland: [pauses] What’s funny is like, I nearly told you then. You were so close to getting what you want.
I can say that it’s the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made. You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding. It’s really impressive. I’ve never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it. And I’m just, you know, again, that lucky little shit who happens to be Spider-Man in it. We got a lot more shooting to do. We started before Christmas and shot for like seven weeks. We stopped for the Christmas break, and then we’re starting again. I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it.
What’s a role from a book or a series that you would really like to play?
Holland: I’ve got two roles coming up that I’m playing in the next few years that I’m really excited about, but I can’t talk about them yet. But I mean, ultimately, as a young British lad who loves cinema, I’d love to be James Bond. So, you know, I’m just putting that out there. I look pretty good in a suit.
What actress are you dying to work but haven’t as of yet?
Holland: I really want to work with Maggie Smith. I love her. She’s so like English and just seems so sweet. I’d really love to work with Maggie Smith.
You’re eying the “Downton Abbey” universe now I see.

Okay I'm a little less emotional now and I've processed a bit so here's my disorganized thoughts during and about Lucifer season 6
Massive MASSIVE amount of spoilers under the cut!!
Lucifer has been my favorite show for the last 5 years and I've been through so many ups and downs with it that saying goodbye to it was HARD. The whole season just utterly wrecked me. I think I cried at least twice an episode but the final 2 episodes was non stop sobbing. Non stop.
To me, it felt like this season was one long goodbye and I loved it. Not just the cast and crew saying goodbye to the fans and the show but it gave us a way to say our goodbyes to the characters through them and I'm grateful for that. Did it hurt like a bitch the whole time? Oh yeah. My heart aches. But we got to say goodbye and it's not often we get to do that with tv shows. Even if not everything went the way I wanted to, I'm okay with that. I cried my eyes out the whole time and for hours afterwards but now that my emotions have settled somewhat, I'm okay with it all. I kinda like the bittersweetness of it.
Overall I loved the final season. It had some great funny moments, soooooo much intimate Deckerstar I mean the love between them is palpable every second they're together, and so many great character moments. This was really about the characters and the emotions and less about murders and action and plot. And as a fan of emotional character moments I loved that. And Tom's acting was fucking out of this world. I mean they all were but Tom especially gave the performance of a lifetime in my opinion.
Going into this final season my checklist of things I want to see happen was as follows:
Ella finds out the truth about the celestials
Lucifer does not become God. In fact I want him to focus on changing hell and helping people move on past their guilt and go to Heaven. Like Dan. I want him to help people like Dan. Or just change the system entirely so people like Dan don't end up in Hell
Amenadiel does become God
Linda continues being the therapist to the celestials
No more Maze and Lucifer fighting with each other
Dan moving on to Heaven and being with Charlotte
Ella being happy with Carol
Deckerstar happy and together at the end
That was everything I wanted and you know what? I GOT IT!
Ella not only found out that they were all celestials, she figured it out on her own!! She's so smart! And I love how she was just 100% cool with it all because her faith has always been so strong. It was the fact that they didn't tell her that upset her and yeah I'm upset about that too and I really wish one of them had told her that they didn't tell her because they didn't want to hurt her. Linda and Chloe both knew how difficult it was for them to learn and Lucifer saw how affected they were. So they were in a way trying to protect Ella from pain. She had every right to be mad and upset. But I'm thrilled she is in the know now and the way she ran after Amenadiel to see him fly was amazing.Just the look on her face as she saw an angel fly was perfect.
I liked Linda's boredom with human problems as a therapist and how she's feeling unfulfilled in regular day to day problems. It's something I wondered about last season and I'm glad it was addressed. And I love that she continues to treat celestials like Adam XD. I wonder if her practice will just turn into a celestial therapy practice. Angels, demons, etc. All are welcome and she'd be amazing at it.
This is the best that Lucifer and Maze's relationship has ever been and I am LOVING IT! He asked for her advice and she didn't make fun of him or say something mean, she actual gave him her advice and he listened to it! Maze then supported his awkward ways of trying to get to know Rory and tried to show Rory that's he's trying! And when she asked him for help with Adam he came! And he listened to her!! She said her feelings and he listened!! And reacted appropriately!! AND HELPED HER!! "My best fiends wedding" omg!!! AND THEN!! He openly admits that she's his best friend during his goodbye!! I love it!! And he opens his arms for a hug!! AND THEY ACTUALLY HUGGED!!! Maze and Lucifer this season was so good!!!!
I had a feeling even before going into this season that Lucifer would not end up as God but that Amenadiel would and I am soooo glad that that is what happened! Lucifer as God didn't feel right and I'm glad there was a several episode long arc of Lucifer slowly coming to realize that not only is it not his calling but he doesn't want to do that job. He wants to help people but not like that. I love that growth for him.
I actually really liked Carol and I think he and Ella are cute together and I hope they'll be very happy. I mean the cuteness factor of them doing bad karate moves together nearly killed me. I also loved that Ella's trauma with Pete didn't go away but was embraced. Of course she wouldn't be okay after all that and I'm glad the writers didn't ignore it.
THE DECKERSTAR!!! THIS SEASON WAS PEAK DECKERSTAR AND I AM LIVING!!!! Where do I even start with this?! The Deckerstar love this season was so high that it destroyed me at the end. I mean the touches, the looks, the hugs, the kisses, the dancing, the dates, the beach cuddle, the nose kisses, the forehead kisses, the casual I love yous, the flying together, sexy times, the mutual support for each other, the pure LOVE between was so incredible. The fact that they had to be separated for so long, Lucifer alone in Hell and Chloe raising two kids alone, fucking hurts me heart so damn much but we got so many wonderful moments with them that it will sustain me. I mean their goodbye was so fucking beautiful and I'm devastated. It wouldn't so much if they're love wasn't so beautiful.
Some other things I really enjoyed about the season:
Lucifer geeking out about magic! That was hilarious and I loved how he tried so hard to not know how the tricks worked.
All of Episode 3. I really enjoyed this episode for a variety of reasons. 1 being the funny craziness of the cartoon hell loop. I mean that was bonkers and I couldn't stop laughing. I loved it. I also loved seeing Lucifer under control of the hell loop and how he made it so Jimmy could be with him mom. But what I loved most about it is this glimpse into what I assume Chloe and Lucifer are doing post show (also kinda confirmed by Ildy and Joe). We see the two of them investigating people's (Jimmy Barnes') hell loops for answers to their guilt in order to help them move onto Heaven. I love that with all my heart. They both continue to help people, Lucifer using what he's learned from Linda to help them with their emotions and Chloe using her badass detective skills to find the answers. They're gonna help so many people.
Lucifer's realization that he ends up caring for people he tries to help and how that's actually a good thing. That it's something to embrace. He's come so far emotionally and I'm so proud of him.
Lucifer's to do list made me laugh so much. Look at this:
Become God
Prove I love Rory
Check in with Father Frank
Azrael's blade still secure?
Start calling Dan "Casper"
Rewatch Bones
Visit Sao Paulo
Try Golden Gate with Chloe First of all the second thing is to prove he loves Rory? AORABLE!! But what caught my eye next is check in with Father Frank. FATHER FRANK!! IS HE IN HELL?!?! DOES LUCIFER CHECK IN WITH HIM A LOT??? Rewatch Bones! Call Dan Casper! I don't even want to know what Golden Gate is XD
Dad!Lucifer. Oh my god I never expected to enjoy Lucifer as a dad as much as I did. Lucifer would have been the best dad and he proved that. The presents he would have given his daughter were perfect, the talks between the two of them, the love he has for Rory was palpable and beautiful. I mean he barely knew her for a few moments and he immediately fell in love with her and would do anything for her. He loved Rory so much and he so desperately wanted to be in her life and it KILLS me that he didn't get to do that. His face when she made him promise to not change things was DEVASTATING! He wanted to be her dad. He wanted to see her grow up. And he didn't get that chance!! I HATE THIS!!! He would have been/was the best dad ever! The montage of them spending the day together was perfection. Sumo wrestling, water balloon fights, shopping, snacks, watching Bones together, his face while listening to her talk about More Bones. It was perfect and exactly how Lucifer would be as a Dad. Fun, attentive, caring. I'm heartbroken.
All of Episode 9. This, to me, felt like the episode for us and the cast and the crew to say goodbye and I'm so grateful for it. Lucifer making the round and saying his goodbyes had me sobbing. I loved them all and I love that Lucifer got say all the things he felt to the people he loved most before he had to leave. Each one was so perfect. Him telling Linda how much he loved her and she is the "most wonderful friends that a devil could ever have". Him telling Ella he was sorry and how he didn't want to leave without her knowing again and the "Ella Lopez STEM Initiative"!!!! I'm gonna cry. Even when he's gone she'll never forget him because of this. Him giving Lux to Amenadiel and telling him that "of all our siblings, I am glad it's you I spent all this time on Earth with. Because you are my favorite brother, brother." I'm dead. Him telling Maze that she is his best friend and he's sorry he didn't always treat her that way. THEIR HUG! His final moment with Dan being the clincher in getting him to Heaven. AND THE FINAL BEACH DAY WITH CHLOE AND RORY WAS SO PERFECT I'M CRYING! The three of them on the drive, Chloe drinking too much champaign, the cuddling on the sand, Lucifer and Rory hugging and their whole talk about how he felt after his father abandoned him. I loved it so much. My only complaint is that I wanted a scene with Trixie too.
Lucifer's love of Bones was really on point this season. I love that detail.
Maze and Eve's wedding. WAS. BEAUTIFUL! I loved their dresses, Linda walking Maze down, Eve owning her own person, their vows, their love, their reception, Maze and Trixie doing their handshake, Dan attending, Lucifer and Chloe being all lovey dovey, Maze's demon family attending as zombies. I loved it all!
Ghost Dan was both crazy funny and so fucking sad. I'm glad he was still here this season and got this arc. Him working through his guilt and moving onto Heaven. I knew all along that Dan's guilt he hadn't worked on was him leaving Trixie and not being a good father to her since he avoided seeing her. I loved that he got a chance to talk to her and that she told him he was being a dummy and she loved him so much.
The music choices. I already lost it at Hazy Shade of Winter but then they went and chose BLACK PARADE for the final scene in Hell and as soon as that first note hit, the fucking G note, I sobbed even harder (as if that was possible).
Bob and Katya cameos!!!
And on that note, I loved all of Lucifer's singing moments. Always do.
Dan playing ping pong with Baliol
But for all the things I loved, there were a few I did not. It's bound to happen and even though they're big they don't change my overall positive feelings about the season.
Here are the things I didn't like:
No Trixie. We barely had any Trixie this season and I hate it. I'm very very happy she was at Maze and Eve's wedding but why was that basically it! Luci didn't even say goodbye to her! They should have had a goodbye scene! Actually, he didn't have any scenes with her in the whole season except forthat tiny scene at the wedding when she asks them when they're getting married and he flounders and she laughs. THAT'S ALL WE GOT!!! I WANTED MORE DAMMIT! SHE WASN'T EVEN THERE WHEN CHLOE DIED!! The scene when she talks to Dan killed me though. I loved that.
This is the biggie. The one that gives me an immense amount of pain and anguish when I think about it because it's so damn sad. Lucifer never gets to see his daughter grow up, never gets to have his family, never sees his family again when they're alive, never gets to spend his life with Chloe on Earth. I understand why he needed to go and stay away from Rory. I do. I get it. But it doesn't make it hurt any less that he spent so so long alone in Hell again. That Chloe had to raise Rory on her own. That Lucifer didn't get to be there for Chloe while she was pregnant, didn't get to see Rory be born, didn't get to be there for her first or watch her grow. And he wanted to be there soooooo badly. It hurts to think about. Does he at least get visits from Amenadiel during this time? Does he get to visit with everyone else, Chloe even, if Rory doesn't know about it? Does he get to know how they're doing? Do they all talk about Lucifer and say they miss him and hope he's okay? Does he get to go up to Heaven occasionally and visit Dan and Charlotte and his siblings? He and Chloe sacrificed so much, Lucifer literally giving up EVERYTHING, so that they're daughter would find her peace. I hate this. It hurts so much.
That's about it I guess. I'm pretty satisfied with everything else.
Oh here are some of my headcanons I use to ease the pain in heart (which turns out both Ildy and Joe all but confirmed after I thought of them but before I could post them. So yay for that!):
Lucifer did stop by and visit Earth during those years as long as he was sure Rory wouldn't find out. A few minutes here and there to see Linda and Charlie, Maze and Eve, and if he could, a few moments with Chloe. Maybe sent notes or stole a few minutes alone with her. All that matter was Rory not knowing it. And if that really couldn't happen then....
Amenadiel visits his brother all the time. He tells him about his family in Earth. How they're doing, what they've been up to, if they're safe happy and healthy. He tells him all about chloe and rory and brings tons of photos so even though he can't be there in person, he still knows how their lives are.
After Chloe dies and joins him in hell they occassionally take vacations. Now, chloe can't go to earth cause she's dead but they can go to heaven. So they vacation there. Lucifer flies her up and they visit with their family and then have beach days or dance or whatever their heart desires until they go back. Maybe they all have a party together.
Lux is now a part of Hell and is where they live happily together. Since he has control over hell loops he made one into Lux.
After Chloe dies, Rory flies to be with her family in hell as well and she and Lucifer spend eons making up for the time they both missed out on.
Rory and Lucifer go to Earth and check in on Trixie all the time.
Deckerstar spend an eternity happy, helping people work through their guilt and move on to Heaven.

I’m so so SO sorry this took so long, and I hope you like it 🤞🏻also, I couldn’t do all of them because school has been keeping me very busy. If you want to send another request, and i’ll do more for you when I have time 💕 Enjoy!
Dick Winters
generally very private about his relationship
mom and dad™ of easy co.
i want to say that he puts you on his team during missions, but i feel like he thinks it’s unprofessional
so he probably puts you on a team with someone he trusts and that he knows won’t take unnecessary risks *cough cough* Speirs *cough cough*
doesn’t mean he doesn’t get worried though
give this man a massage please, he’s stressed af
you’d never want to jeopardize his position though, so you’re generally okay with it
however, sometimes you get a little lonely
Dick notices this and tries to clear out a slot in his schedule in order to spend some quality time with you
treats you like any of the other men, except when you’re alone
king of stolen kisses behind crumbling walls before a battle
very healthy relationship overall 12/10 would be an amazing father
secretly wants to get married when the war is over
i’m not saying he definitely proposed on V-E Day but he definitely did it
cries at the wedding, especially since it’s been so long since he’s seen you all dolled up because of the war
also cries because he’s finally getting to marry the love of his life
drunkenly told Nix at his bachelor party about how amazing you would look at your wedding and then went on and on about the specific shade of your eyes
S I M P
Nix never lets him forget it
Lewis Nixon
this man
let’s be for real here
he has NO idea how to display affection at all, especially because of his past
so he does what any rich boy would do
showers you in gifts that you don’t need
it’s not that you’re ungrateful for them, you just wish he would understand that you don’t love him for his money
i feel like everyone forgets that he’s lowkey rich
can’t relate Nix
he will buy you anything he sees you look at for more than a second
always has them delivered by some random Private
the men tease you RELENTLESSLY for it
“hey Y/N, what did that overflowing wallet buy you this week?”
“Shut up Tab”
is always worried about you
especially since he usually isn’t on the battlefield since he moved to staff
you’re fine
you can definitely handle yourself after Sobel’s training what a fucking dick
takes you out on small simple dates when you guys actually have weekend passes
the guys always help you get ready for your dates (they see you as a little sister it’s really cute)
Ron Speirs
this man
oh wow
the flavor
never really got to see you until Dog Co. was basically absorbed by Easy Co.
definitely thinks he’s not good enough for you
when you first introduced the Easy Co. men to him, they thought the exact same thing (they changed their minds after a while though)
REASSURE THIS MAN. EVERY. STINKIN. DAY. THAT HE IS GOOD ENOUGH.
P L E A S E
secretly is a cuddle monster
will 100% sneak into your foxhole to cuddle and will slit anyone’s throat that mentions it
this man has arms and legs like an octopus when it comes to cuddling
will pull you back into his arms even if you need to use the bathroom and will not be letting go
steals you pretty things for absolutely no reason (Ron, no)
the man is like a freakin magpie
the men of Easy Co. grow to like him more when they realize how happy he makes you and how he doesn’t hurt you
he actually values their opinion on your relationship a lot
he knows Easy is like family and you’re like the younger sister
doesn’t show it though
pushes you away when he feels insecure
jealous™
surprisingly domestic
Carwood Lipton
wholesome but to the max™
you’re both so in love i feel like i’m going to throw up rainbows
signed up for the paratroopers together
i feel like Carwood is the type of person to marry his high school sweetheart
so yeah, you guys are that™ couple
best aunt and uncle of easy co.
Lip worries about you just a littleee more than the other men
he’s just a worry wart in general
almost threw hands with Sobel once when Sobel insulted you
he will not stand for anyone insulting his gal
isn’t as private as Dick is with his relationship, but is known to hide it from superior officers other than Nix and Winters
aka Sobel
was 100% willing to get kicked out of the infantry to defend you from Sobel
thinks a lot about how good of a mom you’d be, especially when he sees you caring for the men
is also a cuddler, though not nearly as clingy as Ron
just a loose arm to tuck you into his side, especially during Bastogne
prefers having you on his team, not only because he cares about you, but also because he admires your skill and accuracy
you’re a damn good shot, and he’d scream it from a mountain for all to hear
so proud of his gal
George Luz
you’re either the jokester and the stoic couple, the shy kid and the jokester couple, or the jokester and the jokester couple
there’s no in between
cracks terrible jokes just to see you smile
still tries pick up lines even AFTER you two are dating (even the guys shake their heads)
you two are the entertainment for easy co. let me tell you
you’re also the only person that can get George to shut up
you must thank him in kisses he takes no other currency
clingy baby™
it’s like dating a 12 year old boy sometimes
he can be so immature but it’s kind of endearing at times
everyone is immediately accepting of your relationship because it just makes sense and you’re both good for each other
wants a hug and a kiss even if you’re just leaving the dining hall to go to the bathroom
just give the man what he wants or he’ll pout all day until you kiss his cheek
you guys once had a match of how long you could ignore each other once
he was surprisingly dedicated
but he broke
he snapped like a twig after everyone went to sleep
he dived into your foxhole and begged you to talk to him
he kept snuggling closer to you until you talked to him again
Joe Toye
rough on the outside, soft on the inside
brings you flowers when he asks you out (surprisingly very traditional and respectful when he asks you out)
everyone has a good time when Toye is with you, he loosens up a lot more
loves when you pet his hair and he can just stare up at the stars while laying in your lap
he’s just as bad as Speirs when it comes to cuddling
a cuddle bug but won’t admit it
actually might be worse than Speirs when it comes to cuddling because he can actually sneak into your bunk while you’re sleeping
also wants to fight Sobel when Sobel insults you and actually almost threw hands
he almost got court martialed and was 2 steps away from getting up in Sobel’s face before Guarnere and Luz stopped him
hands down the dumbest thing he has ever done
you were so mad at him for it
you didn’t talk to him for a week
you felt bad because he was always giving you those puppy dog eyes from across the dining hall
Joe gets teased by the guys for being sweet on you
“at least I got a broad! the rest of ya’ can’t really say that much.”
will not hesitate to let you win during arm wrestling
he’s not allowed to arm wrestle with you anymore because the guys know he’s just letting you win
you’re his #1 fan during arm wrestling
look at those arms tho
Joe Liebgott
y’all thought Toye was soft
OH BOY
the way Joe acts around you is definitely bullying material for the other guys
Lieb drinks respect women juice
thinks you’re so cool
would probably walk up to random people and be like “that’s her. she’s my girlfriend. can you believe how lucky i am?”
thinks it’s so cute when you show off your brand new jump wings to him
you just looked so excited
he wasn’t even staring at the wings when you started rambling about how happy you were, he was just making this stupid in love face
definitely grabbed your face and kissed you hard after that
he wants SO many kids????
ya know those lists that lots of girls have on their phones and it’s just a bunch of future baby names??? that’s Joe
this man has 8 names
4 girls names and 4 boy names
he plans to use every name
just wants to live the domestic life with you after the war
will freeze his ass off and take your watch just so you can get some extra sleep
another cuddle monster (they’re multiplying)
whispers really cute things in german to you until you fall asleep
has also almost fought Sobel for shit he said to you
David Webster
you help him fit in more with the other guys
please teach him the art of socializing
yes, the men have stolen his journal to read all his terrible poetry about you
still gets shit for it to this day
shares his chocolate bar with you
longing stares but from across the room
doesn’t actually take you out until the war is over because he wants to do it right dammit
has little to absolutely no relationship experience
please teach him
or better yet, struggle with him and get made fun of by all the guys
they actually accept Web more now that he’s with you
cuz Easy Co. loves you
sends letters all the time when he’s sent to the hospital
everyone teases him that he acts like he’s more likely married to Liebgott than to you
you’re the only reason the men will stop teasing him
definitely more badass then him
you radiate boss energy and that’s what easy co. likes about you
especially Web
everyone’s like “that’s my girl!”
and he just smiles in the corner with the rest of them
Bill Guarnere
DID I SAY SOFT???
S O F T
weak for his girl
arm wrestles just to get your attention (flexes all the time for pete’s sake)
also wants like a gazillion children and talks about it constantly with Liebgott
this man wants an army of little Italian kids
no one makes fun of you or Guarnere for his actions to get your attention because they don’t want his fist in their face
people who have almost punched Sobel for making fun of their girl: let’s add Guarnere to the list
you didn’t ignore him, you just told him off for being an idiot
if i could describe it, he sulked like a puppy that got told no more treats
so proud of you when you get your jump wings
probably makes a toast about it at the celebration
he was so drunk but it was so cute
literally will do anything for your attention
chugging three bottles of whiskey so Y/N will pay attention to me??? pass the bottle bitch
not a massive cuddle monster but enjoys PDA and the occassional ass slap
probably has slapped your ass in front of company before
this boy has no morals smh
don’t worry, you get him back though
Frank Perconte
worry wart but multiply it by 1000x
is always bothering you to brush your teeth
not because he’s scared your breath stinks, but because he cares about you and your oral hygiene
now gets bullied about oral hygiene and his relationship with you
ft Skip. “oh Y/N, take me away my princess. did you brush your little pearly teeth??? i would never want your perfect smile to be ruined.”
Skip has been chased multiple times around Toccoa for this behavior
will fight anyone that thinks you’re not a good shot
is amazed how good you are at darts (knows you’re better than Buck)
does share a foxhole with you
is NOT part of the monster cuddler club because he knows when to stop
has not arm wrestled for your attention but will if so needed
always needs attention
whiny 12 year old boy P.2
sometimes it’s like you’re dating Luz as well
Luz has purposefully third wheeled before
yes, you heard me
ON PURPOSE
likes spontaneous dates
would fight Sobel for you but isn’t stupid enough to almost do it
Buck Compton
realized he had heart eyes for you before his old girl broke it off with him
WAS RELIEVED WHEN SHE SAID SHE WAS DONE WITH HIM IN BASTOGNE
the other Easy men were like “dude, what the hell are you waiting for. GO GET YOUR GIRL!”
let’s you win at darts
is also stupid and needy enough to arm wrestle for your attention
actually wins though
wants you to kiss his guns (absolutely not sir)
jealous and protective
jealous af around Winters
gets teased a lot about it by the other men
but they can see why he’s insecure about it, Winter’s could sweep any girl he wanted to off her feet
indeed a cuddle monster
will only share a foxhole with you in Bastogne
no one else
radiator of heat and thus a good cuddler though
will only let you make fun of him without repercussions
wants you to move in as soon as the war is over
always demands to be in your unit during an attack
will keep you safe at all costs (and one of the reasons why he got shot in the ass again)
Floyd Talbert
THE ABSOLUTE SWEETEST BABY
people use to bully Tab for his condom shipments
now they bully him for the way he acts around you
tough guy??? no. absolute stick of melted butter when around you
thinks you’re a saint
so does the rest of Easy though, so I guess it doesn’t matter
they had everyone from Easy give him a pep talk just to ask you out (Trigger even barked at him)
he was actually worried you would reject him
no one will ever reject that man lol it doesn’t make sense
not necessarily a cuddle monster
DEFINITELY A PDA MONSTER THOUGH
likes when you sit on his lap
can’t explain it, it just makes sense
will also arm wrestle for your attention
will honestly do anything for you
you need me to bring you Jupiter in a jar???
sure babe I’ll be right back
has specific pet names for you
his favorites are buttercup, angel, and beautiful
Babe Heffron
P U R E
does not get bullied for being in a relationship with you because everyone loves him
not a single person in this company, including you, would hesitate to sacrifice their life for that replacement
whines a lot to you when you don’t give him attention
will arm wrestle for your attention and loses
has not had the chance to fight Sobel before but I feel like he could if he wanted to
will tear Dike to shreads if he even mutter one hateful word against you
cuddle monster #2323293
enjoys being the little spoon and the big spoon while in the foxhole
shares his food with you during meals
will not hesitate to get shot in the ass for you
also will not hesitate to get shot for you in general
is like an angry 6 year old baby when you don’t pay attention to him
is known to give the silent treatment when you’re too busy to talk to him for days
MAKE TIME FOR HIM DO IT NOW
wants you to meet his Ma in Philly after the war
has many hopeful dreams that include you after the war
will only share chocolate with you and Gene
give him a hug, even when he says he doesn’t need it
Eugene Roe
HOLY SWEET JESUS
FIRST OFF
NO ONE IN THEIR GODDAMN RIGHT MIND WOULD EVER MAKE FUN OF YOU, ESPECIALLY AROUND DOC
this man has so many pet names
he is not afraid to use them on the battlefield, especially if you’re bleeding out because he’ll know you’ll answer to them
“darlin’, mon amour, ma mie, ma belle, ma chérie”
please stop Gene, it’s embarassing but also like don’t stop
get us a defibrillator his heart stopped while he was looking at you and we need to do CPR NOW-
thinks you’re the most beautiful girl ever
is not dumb enough to arm wrestle for your attention
he just makes this grumpy or upset face and you catch on quickly
he’s also not dumb enough to fight Sobel
BUT HE WILL FIGHT ANY SOLDIER WITH THE AUDACITY TO INSULT YOU
is always worrying about you
especially in Bastogne
always jumping into your foxhole to check for any wounds
probably lost his sizzuhs that way
always has extra bandages just for you
treats you with tender care
Donald Malarkey
THE CUTEST COUPLE EVER
NOT EVEN SKIP HAS THE HEART TO MAKE FUN OF YOU
is not dumb enough to fight Sobel for you
doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to punch him though
is dumb enough to arm wrestle for your attention
it lowkey depends on the day though
i mean
he doesn’t need to arm wrestle for you to admire his arms
like, have you seen that gif of him taking of his shirt???
loves cuddles in your foxhole but is not a cuddle monster
he’s a big baby when he gets tired
loves it when you take care of him
has definitely fallen asleep once on your shoulder during watch
would run up Currahee with full gear 3 times just to see you smile
he needs a hug. give him one now.
likes to rest his chin on your head
also wants you to move in (and maybe get married) after the war
treats you kindly, but he’s still a sarcastic little shit
kiss his muscles
that was literally so long i can’t believe i finished

Movies I watched in January 2021.
(only includes movies I watched for the first time)
A stranger outside (directed by Jake Helgren) – 2018 (12) 2½ stars.
This film is a who is it/who did it movie about a girl named Daphne (played by Brittney Underwood) who is babysitting a young boy called Toby (played by Jet Jurgensmeyer) whose parents are out of town.
I gave it a low rating since I found it very dumb and the acting is not good, a hard movie to take seriously, the characters are also very stupid, and it is an overall very predictable movie.
But saying that, I would still recommend if you want to watch a movie you can make fun of and like seeing family bonds being made (between the babysitter and the boy). It is also a good movie if you want to get into horrors/thrillers or get someone else into them.
*spoilers*
The main reasons I found this a dumb movie is how obvious it was that the maid was the killer, like, what maid only cleans the kitchen and does it in less than 5 minutes? She was also an overall bad killer and felt like a very lazy try.
Also, the girls reaction to everything, I don’t understand why they didn’t lock all the doors and how Daphne walked through the door that she put the windchime, a very dumb move. Also, Daphne’s friends when being killed, I could not wait for the scene to be over, she wasn’t doing a particularly good job at trying to escape.
*spoilers done*
Uncle frank (directed by Alan Ball)– 2020 (15) 5 stars.
This film is about an 18-year-old named Beth (played by Sofia Lillis) who travels back from Manhattan to her hometown Creek Ville, South Carolina, with her uncle Frank (played by Paul Bettany) for a funeral and end up being joined by his boyfriend (Played by Peter Macdissi).
I gave this film such a high rating because of how real this movie feels and how the acting feels so pure and you can tell that they put effort into this. I also just really love family connections in movies. It is just such a beautiful movie, made me cry so much. This film also really highlights how much Frank is terrified of his parents fining out he is gay.
I just highly recommend this movie. Anything I say will not do this film justice.
*spoilers*
The main scenes that really stuck out to me where: 1) The flash back scenes between young Frank and past lover Sam. Mainly the scene where his dad (played by Stephen Root) catches them together one night. And he didn’t the relationship his son had with the other boy, which sends Frank into a panic. This scene also shows the type of man his dad was and how that impacted Frank.
2) The will reading where Frank is outed. This scene really pinpoints how much hatred Franks dad had towards him. In this scene you can also see the sheer panic he has and doesn’t want to stick around and find out what is family will say.
*spoilers done*
Deadly detention (directed by Blair Hayes) – 2017 (15) 1 star.
This film is about 5 high school students; the ‘hot girl’ Lexi (played by Alex Frnka), ‘hot boy’ Barrett (played by Henry Zaga), the ‘sporty female jock’ Jessica (played by Sarah Davenport), ‘the skateboarder’ Taylor (played by Jenifer Robyn Jacobs) and the ‘presumed gay, Christian’ with his bejewelled bible named Kevin (played by Coy Stewart), who all have Saturday detention. Their detention takes place in a now closed prison with someone trying to kill them.
I gave the film such a low rating since its just bad. The script is awful, the characters are written so poorly, I can’t believe this movie was able to be realised, it is also very predictable, you are able to tell who the killer is within the first 10 minutes.
This movie gave me the vibe of a poorly rewrite of ‘the breakfast club’ if it was a horror in prison. But if you want something you can watch to laugh at and not take seriously then you could watch this.
*spoilers*
The main things that really annoyed me with this film are not that the killer was obviously the cop but that:
1) Barrett never stops smiling! Someone is trying to kill him, and he doesn’t even care.
2) Taylor and her skateboard, she can’t even ride properly, she should have left it, it’s not important.
3) Keven and his light up shoes, and how he had to make sure they were on the same colour, he should leave them alone and hide.
4) And just the fact that Barrett and Lexi care more about hooking up than trying to escape a killer, especially when Berrett is already dating Jessica.
*spoilers done*
Deadpool (directed by Tim Miller) – 2016 (15) 4 stars.
This film is about a man named Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds), who wants to get revenge on a man named ajax/Francis (played by Ed Skrein) for experimenting on him to cure Wades cancer and to give him healing abilities, but it ends up leaving him disfigured.
I gave this movie a high rating because of how it managed to include multiple genres at once; for example, this film included, action, a little gore, comedy, raunchy and romance. Also, the uses of breaking the fourth wall, I think was done particularly well.
Other things I like about this film is that he does not call himself a hero, because he does not want to be and at the end of the day, he isn’t one, but he’s also not a villain.
*spoilers*
An example of this is right near the end when Colossus is giving that classic ‘you can be a hero’ hero speech, Deadpool shoots Ajax. Because killing him was what the main plot of the film was.
*spoilers done*
Soul (directed by Pete Doctor) – 2020 (PG) 3½ stars.
This film is about the journey of jazz piano player/middle school teacher, Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx), who experiences a near death experience that gets him trapped in the afterlife, trying to reunite his soul and body, who is landed the responsibility to be the mentor to the soul, 22 (voiced by Tina Fey), who needs to find her spark to be sent to earth.
I gave this movie a middle rating because I like what it portrays – where your dreams come from, where your interests come from, also that for some, it can take a lot longer than others to figure out what they are. However, I feel like this film feel flat the longer it went on, it also feels like the people working on this got bored at the end and did not care anymore. Could as well be due to do with the fact that there were a couple things I thought would happen and make more sense but did not happen.
But its still, at the end of the day a cute, funny, family movie and great for kids to learn that they should do what they love and its okay if they take longer than others to figure out what they love to do.
*spoilers*
Examples of what I thought would happen/hoped would happen that would have made sense to be in the film are:
1) I was expecting that Joe was going to realise that he liked being a teacher. The flash backs really set up that was going to happen but then I just did not.
2) I was hoping that we would get a time skip to a few years later and joe and the person that 22 went into would meet. I was expecting that the happen from the beginning.
*spoilers done*
Adventures in babysitting/A night in the town (directed by Chris Columbus) – 1987 (12 or pg. if you watch the Disney + cut) 4 stars.
This film is about 17-year-old Chris Parker (played by Elisabeth Shue) who is babysitting 8-year-old Sara Anderson (played by Maia Brewton) and her 15-year-old brother, Brad (Played by Keith Coogan), but ends up in a night full of adventures, along with Brad’s friend, Daryl (played by Anthony Rapp), due to Chris needing to pick up her friend, Brenda (played by Penelope Ann Miller).
I gave this movie a high rating because I think it’s a nice funny, sweet movie. I has great family like bonds between them all, which I love to see, and it makes you feel good watching it.
What I liked in this film was that it felt like it wasn’t trying to be realistic and because of that anything so unrealistic that happens feels normal.
I do highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes comedic adventurous films.
*spoilers*
One thing I liked that I found funny was how the gang was trying to capture the kids and Chris all because of the Playboy.
I also really love the scene when we find out Chris’s boyfriend, mike (played by Bradley Whitford), was cheating and after Brads speech about Chris then says he isn’t going to hurt mike because he is a bigger person, Daryl kicks mike. I think the main reason I loved this scene was because it really shows how different each character is from each other, but they still have a great friendship.
One thing that did annoy me about this film was Chris and Dan together at the end. It would have been okay for me, but she broke up with her boyfriend that night. Also, we don’t know how old Dan is, all we know is he is in collage and Chris is 17 in high school.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2018 (pg.) 4½ stars.
This film is about a zombie named Zed (played by Milo Manheim) and a human cheerleader named Addison (played by Meg Donnelly) who become close very quickly and need to hide that due to the fact that humans still believe that zombies are evil monsters.
I gave this film a high rating due to the how this movie made me feel, it quickly became a comfort movie for me, if you watch it you will understand where I’m coming from.
I also want to point out that yes, this is a very cheesy movie but its Disney channel, what else do you expect?
And despite it being the classic Disney channel cheese it is, I would like to pinpoint that it covers issues I think kids should learn about, for example; discrimination, not to pay attention to stereotypes and rumours also not to bully someone and just because they may be ‘different’
Highly recommend to all kids and anyone older if they love cheesy films.
*spoilers*
I have seen that some people don’t like the fact that Addison compared her hair would get her treated the same way Zed gets does, and I can see where they come from but to me, I interpret Addison’s hair and wig as real things people can hide about themselves, so they don’t get treated badly and zombies as something that people can’t hide about themselves.

Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2020 (pg.) 2 ½ stars
This film is about werewolves coming to Seabrook/Zombietown due to their charms running out of their powers, needing to find the moon stone with help from a whitehaired teenager.
I gave this movie a low rating mainly due to how much it disappointed me. I expected much more, especially because of how the first one was amazing. This film felt very fast paced and felt like they didn’t put as much effort into it.
But saying that I do recommend watching, it’s still a fun time watching.
*spoilers*
Examples of what annoyed me in this movie was;
1. How the zombies as well as the humans automatically assumed the werewolves where evil. You would have thought that the zombies would be more understanding since humans thought that about them before and that humans wouldn’t have jumped to that conclusion as they were wrong about zombies.
2. The ban on all monsters when the zombies didn’t do anything wrong.
3. How bucky went back to hating zombies. I don’t understand why because at the end of the first movie he realised zombies aren’t bad.
4. Eliza should have ran for school resident! Mainly due to her having such strong views I feel like she would have taken it very seriously.

Official secrets (directed by Gavin Hood) – 2019 (15) 3¾ stars
This film is about the true events of Katherine Gun (played by Kira Knightly), who is a British intelligence specialist and leaked secret information about an illegal NSA spy operation made to urge the UN security council to give approval for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, to the press hoping to avoid this from happening.
I gave this movie this rating due to how it keeps you engaged in what is happening, despite it being a sort of slow burn. Also, from what I heard it stayed true the real events (I’m 17 so I wasn’t old enough to remember it myself) and I like how it used the actual news footage.
This movie is also easy to follow and to know what’s happening.
I highly recommend this film if you love learning about true events/find them interesting.
The green mile (directed by Frank Darabont) – 1999 (18) 5 stars
This film is about Paul Edgecomb (played by Tom Hanks and Dabbs Greer), the commanding officer of the death row cellblock at Cold Mountain Penitentiary in Louisiana, who meets inmate, John Coffey (played by Michael Clarke Duncan), who has been accused of murdering two young girls. Paul’s life isn’t the same when he discovers John’s special gifts.
I gave this movie such a high rating because it’s just such a masterpiece of a movie. The actors did an amazing job at portraying their characters and made sure you like the characters your meant to like, despite what they did in the past and dislike the characters your meant to dislike.
This movie also gave me so many emotions, for example, one moment I’m really happy and the movie is making me feel good then the next I can’t stop crying.
Despite the rating being an 18+, I would recommend to anyone 15+.
*spoilers*
I would like to state that the mouse, Mr. Jingles is my favourite character so, if you have seen it, you can guess that when Percy (played by Doug Hutchinson) stepped on the poor thing busted into tears and then when John healed him, I started crying even more because I was so happy.
I also thought the ending to the film was very poetic in the way the Paul is still alive and that being his curse, and having to see everyone he cares about die, due to John being executed despite, in the end, being innocent.

Those are all the movies I watched this month. Please know that these are my opinions, and its perfectly okay of you have different ones.
This is the first time I have ever done something like this so please let me know how I can improve. And let me know your thoughts.

man it has been a MINUTE since I made my own post about anything fandom-related on this website but @suzirya is blogging about The Old Guard and I haven’t seen anyone else talking about it really and I’ve got. some thoughts
I had literally never heard of this movie at all until a few nights ago when we were eating dinner in the living room and my dad pulled it up and said ‘hey I want to watch this’ and played the trailer for my brother and me. We were pretty much like yeah, sure, we all enjoy a good action flick, and aside from my other brother (who was occupied with D&D) it ended up being the whole family watching it. and I enjoyed it WAY more than I’d anticipated, especially for something I’d never heard about.
if you don’t know what I’m talking about: drop what you’re doing and go watch The Old Guard on Netflix. (it’s a Netflix original so yes it will be there.) it’s a very fun and good action film based on a series of graphic novels about a small group of immortals trying to do what’s right. there are many selling points but one of them is that it will be very good for your little gay soul, bc Charlize Theron stars (in a character with no explicitly-stated romances but lots of relationships that will make you Feel Things) and two of the other main characters are two men who met during the Crusades and are just amazingly in love with each other. And not in a vague way that the straights can interpret as Powerful Friendship. They are explicitly in love with each other and so devoted and ugh.
ANYWAY. putting the rest of my chattering under a cut bc spoilers and also I’m a wordy piece of shit
1 - early in this movie I was thinking about how glad I am that Charlize Theron has stepped into this role of like... cool female action star, but also, her characters are never super sexed up. almost any female characters I can think of in action movies, if they’re part of the action rather than victims/bystanders, are always made sexy. even when they’re Strong sexy, they’re still... a lot sometimes? I was thinking especially of some Angelina Jolie stuff, Scarlett Johanssen, etc. there are probably lots of exceptions to this that I just don’t know but still - we’ve had Theron in several roles like this recently, and appearance-wise she’s treated with the same respect as her male counterparts, which is so fucking cool and also such a fucking relief. we all love beautiful ladies, obviously, but it’s so SO good to see our female heroes just doing their jobs, without us ever being made aware of their sexuality.
and as the movie went on this was hitting me more and more, and I was also thinking it about... everyone? like. the other female lead, played by KiKi Layne, was arguably more feminine than Theron but not any more sexualised. even once she’s out of her army fatigues she’s dressed with practicality in mind, and again, we never have her female-ness pointed out to us. and I was so about every bit of that. both objectively and as a person whose relationship to female-ness and femininity is kind of weird, it’s such a good thing to see leading women whose gender and appearances and bodies aren’t being focussed on that way.
and as a sidebar to that, while I wouldn’t describe any of the prominent male characters as unattractive by any means, none of them were like... Marvel-actor hot. and I just, idk, especially in action/superhero movies, that’s refreshing to me. a lot of them looked like Regular Dudes in a way that I find very appealing.
2 - can we TALK about Joe and Nicky. holy shit. my brother and I kept leaning over to each other to be like ‘if anything happens to either of them I’ll riot.’ I MEAN.
we got a genuine, explicit, on-screen established romance between these men. it was not implied, it was not just how the actors played it in the hopes that people would catch on - it was right there. they hold each other to sleep, they kiss each other with such love, they talk to other characters about how much they adore each other. they met during the Crusades. they’ve been in love for centuries! and they’re so sweet, so devoted, so adoring! and they never have any arguments or tension to further the plot (one of my personal most-hated plot devices in any story with an established relationship). they just spend this movie loving each other, protecting each other and their weird little family, doing anything they can for each other. they’re taken prisoner and spend their time awake joking and making each other smile. and the one singular bit of casual homophobia they encounter on-screen is met with a declaration of love so heartfelt and intense that the guy who made the shitty comment literally doesn’t know what to say - which is a brief but extremely good scene in the movie, imo.
oh, also worth noting: this romance is biracial and interfaith (inasmuch as either of them may be men of faith after being alive for centuries). just to add to how good this is to see on-screen. all of this on top of them being IMMORTAL AND UNKILLABLE. NO GAYS BURIED HERE
2.5 - can I talk for a second about how goddamn much I love seeing non-hetero romance in genre fiction!!! I know it’s getting easier to find, but still. genre fiction is very much my domain and I love seeing queer romance there, especially when it’s simply an accepted fact and the characters’ queerness isn’t central to the story. narratives about queerness are good and important and serve a function but most of them aren’t really my thing, personally. a story that’s about all kinds of other things but also has queer characters there, being themselves, being in love, is so 1000% my shit.
3 - also? Charlize Theron’s character, Andy?? fascinating from a queer perspective. she doesn’t have any explicitly-stated romance with anyone, but her relationships with other characters are so compelling and so interesting. The backstory about her and another immortal, Quynh, very very distinctly gives you the impression that they were women in love. everything about Andy’s guilt and bitterness over not having been able to find/save Quynh feels so much like there was a romance there. it could have been platonic or familial - they were together, without anyone else, for centuries at least, and therefore obviously developed a very deep love - but the way Andy talks about Quynh it feels so much like there was something left unsaid, or unresolved.
also, her scene with the clerk in the pharmacy. oh my god. this woman clearly recognises that whatever is going on with Andy, something is wrong, and she offers her help, no questions asked. she takes her into the back room and patches up her wound. this scene has such an inherent intimacy because of the close quarters and the privacy and the act taking place, but... there’s also this really interesting connection happening between them, where they recognise something in one another but don’t state it. (personally, I couldn’t help wondering if the clerk was a domestic abuse survivor, maybe? but there are so many ways you could interpret her character from her behaviour and dialogue in that scene, and I’d love to see other people’s takes.)
and then on the other hand you have her relationship with Booker, who’s been with her the longest out of any of the living immortals. they’re incredible. their relationship is so, so interesting and well-depicted! they have such chemistry, that you can easily read as romantic or platonic. they’ve been together for so many hundreds of years and they work together, trust each other, with such a deep understanding and love and respect. and it never quite tips over into the romance you kind of think it will, which imo only makes it that much more compelling - there are so many directions you could take that dynamic.
4 - and then on the topic of Booker: I am SO into the way his betrayal was handled.
he did, undeniably, betray the others. there’s no argument on that fact. his motivations were understandable (and heartbreaking), even to Andy, though certainly not an excuse. so yes, they were furious with him. reasonably so! but... that didn’t actually break their relationships with him. they didn’t leave him behind in the lab, even if in some ways they might have wanted to. and in the ensuing battle, they were still able to work together and trust each other as they always have. the damage done to their larger relationship was put aside to be dealt with after all of this, as it should be. and even when they did deal with it, what they agreed on was just a century of exile from their group. given the lives they’re all living, that seems like such a mild sentence.
but to me, it makes so much sense. again, these people have lived for centuries, and there are so few of them. they need each other. the bonds they’ve formed over all this time together - the trust, the love, the sense of family - would not only be vital to both their survival and their sanity, but also incredibly difficult to truly break. what he did would seem unforgivable from an outside perspective, and even after that century passed I’m certain he’d have to earn back their trust and respect, but it makes absolute sense that they’d be willing to take him back one day.
god. GOD. I’m sure there’s more I could talk about but this is what I can think of right now and I’ve been typing for like forty minutes probably so I’m done for now but.
god.
this movie and its characters GOT ME, guys. I’m really in it. ugh UGH

gif is NOT mine, credit to owners
Y/N was seated in the driver's seat of her Audi R8 with her e/c eyes fixed on the back door of Anavrin, frown lines on her forehead and a fast paced heartbeat. Forty Quinn, her boyfriend of 9 months was inside in a ‘meeting’, as Forty had called it, with his father pitching a new idea to him probably begging for money at this point. He wouldn’t take a direct handout from Y/N even though she has enough money to last a lifetime and he claimed it would be wrong and weird but you knew it was because he craved the approval from his father. She knew how this would end, everybody did but it wasn’t able to be stopped so Y/N offered to take him to the meeting.
Turning up the music a little more and resting your eyes relaxing against the seat, you took a moment to think of life but it was life and that didn’t last for long. Over the almost blaring music, she heard the slam of a door and her eyes blinked open to see Forty storming out with an angered look, clearly unstable. Fuck, Y/N thought to herself. Love Quinn, her boyfriend’s very close sister, was practically jogging to stay close behind him yelling for him to stop. The way she cared about her brother was everything, she was a great sister no matter what their mom said. Joe or Will-frankly, Y/N had no idea what to call him, situation with that was weird-ran after Love, pulling her by the arm to let Forty go and Y/N took this as her opportunity to exit the car.
“Forty?” she called out. The broken expression that was evident on Forty’s face broke his girlfriend’s heart. He had such high hopes going into this meeting, anxious and couldn’t sit still in the passenger seat on the way here with a big smile plastered on his face. That Forty was completely gone and was replaced by the unstable boy. “Oh, honey,”
Forty walked to her, embracing her instantly feeling safe and calmed down slightly. She opened her eyes and caught Love giving her a small smile and mouthed ‘take care of him please’. Y/N nodded, pulling back to escort Forty back to the car and into the passenger's seat. “I just wanted his approval. Just fucking something from him.”
You shut the door to the passenger side and climbed into the driver’s seat putting a hand on his shoulder. “I know you did, baby. I know,” the two buckled their seatbelts and Forty leaned over the middle console to lay his head on his girlfriend’s shoulder as she backed out into the parking lot to get to the street.
~
Forty and Y/N were seated on the couch, a blanket wrapped around them with a fire going. Y/N often kept her house cool since they lived in LA but today was rather cold out so she had her butler light it for her before she got home. She sent him and her maid home for the night off, paying them directly and gestured for Forty to take a seat in the family room. He obliged and curled up with a blanket. Y/N ordered his and hers favorite pizzas and sent a text to Love explaining how he was doing and that you’d call if something was wrong. She quickly sent a heart and thumbs up emoji back.
“I ordered some pizza. Hope you’re hungry.” Forty barely acknowledged his girlfriend and closed his eyes. She sighed heavily, “Honey, c’mon, talk to me.”
“I just wanted his stupid fucking approval but I can never have it! He barely ever has time to listen to my ideas. I mean, do you have any idea how long it took me to get him to meet me today?” she went to say something but Forty was sitting up and continued to vent. “He barely looks at me when we go to those stupid fucking wellness weekends. My mom treats me like a decent human being I guess but is complete shit to Love. Our parents suck, really fucking suck.”
“I kno-”
“And that isn’t the best part! My dad told me I’d never be something, that I’ll just ‘manage’ Anavrin for the rest of my life and live off my girlfriend that will probably leave me in-”
“You finish that sentence, Forty, and I’ll slap the shit out of you.” Y/N said sternly. Taking a hold of Forty’s face, she looked him in the eyes, meaning every word that came out of her mouth. “I love you, Forty. I’m not going anywhere. I have no reason to. I love you for who you are and I’m proud of you. You will become something because you are so determined to do so, I love that about you. So, shut the fuck up and just let me help instead of asking your piece of shit father for anything.”
Forty threw his arms around her, inhaling her familiar scent and melting in her arms. He was thankful to have this woman in his life, he thanked the person above every day for giving her to him. She was perfect for him and made him feel so wanted and loved. He pulled back to kiss her on the lips and she almost immediately kissed back as if she already knew he was going to. He could be predictable sometimes, especially with his timing of kisses. She sighed in absolute bliss as Forty tugged himself away from her addicting lips. Before he could kiss her again, this time more passionately and rough, the doorbell rang and he groaned. Y/N giggled to herself, standing up to grab the pizza she assumed was here and after a few minutes and loud exchanges with the delivery boy, she returned with the pizza.
“Hungry?” she questioned, setting down the pizza on the coffee table.
“Yes,” his eyes gazed at her with lust filled eyes. “For you.”
“Forty Quinn, are you thinking what I think you’re suggesting?” she swayed her hips a little bit, stopping in front of him with a smile and suddenly an even bigger smile appeared. “Forty, do you know what today is?”
Forty shook his head, “No, why?”
“It’s officially been 6 months of sobriety.” Y/N straddled his waist, lightly pushing him back against the cushion and leaned down to whisper in his ear. “You know what that means. Celebration is in order.” she nipped at his ear earning a sharp intake of breath from him.
He felt her soft lips lay gentle kisses down his neck nearly straight away feeling the blood rush to his member and he squirmed underneath her, by now just wanting to rip off her clothes to fuck her into this couch but he sat still letting his girlfriend work her magic. Abruptly, she rose up from her position to take off his tight shirt and ran her fingers over his chest admiring the way he looked once again before leaning back down to trail kisses down his torso. Sliding off his lap and keeping herself upright on her knees, she unbuckled his belt chuckling at his surprised expression telling him to help slide his pants off his legs. He did as he was told, almost tripping over his shoes as he slipped both his pants, boxers, and shoes off while his girlfriend waited patiently with wide open innocent eyes. God, did he love when she looked like that.
Pushing his legs open a bit, she started at his right knee to start kissing up to her final destination loving the way Forty was squirming underneath her longing for her mouth to be elsewhere. An inch from her destination, she switched to the other knee to begin there.
“C’mon, kitten, stop teasing.”
“Shut up,” she demanded not bothering to peek at her boyfriend. He knew once she got to where he really wanted, it’d be worth it but he didn’t want to wait. Not even 10 seconds later, she got there. Taking him into her hand, she licked from the bottom of his shaft to his tip leaving a trail of her saliva behind and she swirled her tongue over the tip collecting the precum that was seeping out. Forty unconsciously bucked his hips upwards and Y/N took it as an opportunity to duck down to his balls kissing them softly. She knew it was going to get her in trouble later for teasing him so much but she looked forward to that because he gets so rough when he's teased and she loves it.
"Fuck, kitten," he sucked in a breath when Y/N licked upwards again. She knew it was enough and slowly took him in her mouth. He was thick, but average, just the perfect size for her and once all of him was in, she gagged a little bit as he hit the back of her throat thrusting forward. She put her hands on his hips to keep him from doing that as she bobbed up and down sucking gently. He let out a loud moan when she went up stopping at the tip sucking slightly harder. That was his weakness and Y/N loved it. It always got the sexiest moan out of him and brought him real close to orgasm. "Just like that,"
She moved her right hand down to his testicles rubbing them softly, going back down his shaft. She gagged, a little saliva running out from her mouth but it didn't stop her from going a little further. She went back up and continued the little routine. Hearing him yell out 'fuck' gave her the signal he was about to cum in her mouth. Y/N went faster, sucking harder and not at all gently working him up to his orgasm. Her hand massaged his balls as quick as her mouth was going before she felt the slight jerk of his hips and the warm liquid entered her mouth. She went into action swallowing each drop that came out until she felt him start to go soft in her mouth and she knew he had finished.
"Happy 6 months of sobriety, my love," she smiled up at him, fluttering her eyelashes.

Adventures of Superman #506 (November 1993)
Superman vs. Superboy! I mean, vs. Superman, since the Kid still insists that Superboy is definitely NOT his name and never will be. The two Supermen meet while the younger, radder one is dealing with some sort of deformed flying babies that are trying to kill him, which is the sort of thing that happens to you when you wear an “S” emblem on your chest.
These turn out to be deformed flying babies THAT EXPLODE, but the Kid is able to push them away with his (very non-Superman-esque) telekinesis powers. He then deduces that these things must have come out of Project Cadmus, the top secret genetic experimentation facility that created him, and brushes off the elder Superman to get back at those geeks by doing what he does best: being a brat on live TV.
So I guess the “top secret” part of Cadmus’ description is no longer accurate, thanks to the Kid. On the other hand, I kinda feel like the people of Metropolis deserved to know that there's a nearby government facility churning out genetic atrocities into their sewers.
The Cadmus gang sends Guardian to bring their wayward creation home so they can talk to him. Obviously the Kid isn't very interested, and for a while it looks like we might get the fight scene teased in the cover, but then Superman the First convinces Superman the Second that he should at least hear them out. And, while at it, ask Cadmus to tell him exactly what the hell he is. If he’s Superman’s clone, why does he have those weird TK powers? The Kid agrees, but... he doesn't like the answers he gets.
The Kid finds out that he's NOT a clone of Superman since, as established a while back, Kryptonians are damn hard to clone. So, since Cadmus was determined to create a new Superman after the original appeared to be dead, they instead took a clone of a regular, non-super man and genetically modified it to approximate Superman's powers (for instance, translating Superman’s “aura” into a telekinetic field). But who was that human DNA donor? Surely it was someone good and cool!
Just after the Kid wonders that, the quite evil and deeply uncool Director Westfield bursts into the lab and demands that this "super-punk" be taken into custody, probably so they can flush him down the toilet like Cadmus' other failed experiments. Superman makes Westfield see that making Cadmus' whistleblower disappear wouldn't look very good right now, but they can't just let him run around unsupervised. So, at Guardian's recommendation, the esteemed telepath Dubbilex is assigned to follow the Kid wherever he goes. I smell a sitcom! (Or a spin-off comic.)
As a last order of business, the Kid decides to give Superman his trademark to the Superman name, which his manager Rex Leech doesn't take too well. So what are they gonna call this teenage “S” emblem-wearing hero now? Superman has an interesting suggestion: SUPERBOY. Our young friend still isn't a fan.
But after storming out and thinking about it for a couple of pages (and trying out the name on some guys robbing a jewelry shop), the Kid realizes he's "earned" the title of Superboy and accepts it. Character development! And just in time for his solo series. ("That Non-Superman Clone Who Also Calls Himself Superman" wouldn't look good on a cover.)
Plotline-Watch:
The final page shows a shadowy figure shaped like the recently introduced Bloodthirst outfitting someone with a weapon-teleporting gizmo, then calling him "Bloodsport"... except that this dude is quite paler than the Bloodsport we met way back in Superman #4 (in an issue inked by current writer Karl Kesel, so you'd think he'd remember the character). This looks nothing like Idris Elba! What gives?!
Superboy is still bummed out because his friend Tana Moon left Metropolis without telling him where she was going, which is now known as "ghosting". In the end, Rex talks about sending Superboy on a promotional tour to establish his new brand, and the first destination of that tour will be... exactly where Tana went to hide from Superboy. This is now known as "time to get a restraining order."
Clark Kent is slowly morphing into a hipster the longer he rooms with Jimmy Olsen. For a long time I assumed all the bands listed in the panel below were made up, but turns out the only non-existing ones are “James Rock” and "Axel Rose". Luckily, Superboy was happy to give Clark's old apartment back to him (apparently only Pulitzer-winning journalists can afford it), so Jimmy won't hipsterize him for much longer.
Westfield gladly assigns Dubbilex to Superboy because it means there won't be a telepath at Cadmus to read his thoughts and find out about his evil plans (like sending the ugly flying babies after Superboy). Very clever, Westfield! Except for the fact that he thought that right in front of Dubbilex, who clearly "heard" the whole thing.
Incidentally, there's an apparent error in this issue when Superboy thinks "They won't take me without a fight!" and Guardian shows up and says "That's too bad, son. Because I don't want to fight you." How did Guardian know what Superboy was thinking? Obviously, Dubbilex patched Guardian through to Superboy's mind to assist in finding him. Now where's my damn Baldy Award?!
Is it me or is this page reminiscent of the cover to Superboy Prime's first appearance during Crisis on Infinite Earths?
Patreon-Watch:
Special thanks to your Patreon pals Aaron, Murray Qualie, Chris “Ace” Hendrix, britneyspearsatemyshorts, Patrick D. Ryall, and Samuel Doran, and welcome aboard to Bheki Latha (our first $6.50 patron ever!), Mark Syp, and Ryan Bush! You are all excellent. This month they got to read a long-ass post entitled 45 Things I Learned by Reading the “Death of Superman” Novel (Part 1), in which I talked about the stuff Roger Stern added to the canon in the first part of the Death and Life of Superman book. This includes Superman’s private thoughts on the JLI (and Guy Gardner in particular), what Lex Jr. calls Supergirl in bed, and Professor Hamilton getting romantic. Find out more at https://www.patreon.com/superman86to99
But now: the Don Sparrow show! Take it away, Don.
Art-Watch (by @donsparrow):
The end of an era, at least temporarily, as Tom Grummett draws his last Adventures of Superman issue, moving onto Superboy (and I think still doing Robin at this time?) with Karl Kesel. He’ll return for the quarterly Superman: Man of Tomorrow and other things, but it’s a long gap until he does.
A pretty good cover, with Superman and Superboy about to tussle. Though it can be seen as cheaping out on the backgrounds, I always love radial rays as an effect.
Inside the issue, we have a great splash page of Superboy getting attacked by botched clones, and I love the gesture here—having his head snapping away from the camera adds to the motion and action. Great stuff.
Though he won’t be drawing her again for a while, Grummett excels at the new, shorter-haired Lois in these pages. Superman soaring to the skies is a great panel as well, and I especially like the way his cape and fist slightly break the panel barrier, giving it a sense of motion, again.
The sequence of Guardian acrobatically flipping from one ledge to another is very well drawn. Ditto the splash on page 13, where Superboy loses his temper. The body language in this whole sequence tells the story very well, as Superman is calm and patient, confident in his ability not only to reach Superboy with his words, but also withstand him physically.
The way Superboy snaps the carpet, but controls it mentally with his Tactile Telekinesis is a great example of his unique powers in use. It reminds me of a technique they tried on the CW Supergirl show (but almost immediately abandoned) where they made like the Kryptonian fabric of their capes was like “smart fabric” and could be used as a weapon.
Lastly, the dreamy, child-like expression on Superboy’s face during the Peter Pan exchange is wonderful, and a fitting end for Tom’s run on the book. [Max: You mean the William Shatner exchange, Don.]
STRAY OBSERVATIONS:
I almost never like it when they reference pop culture stuff in Superman comics, particularly music. Karl Kesel isn’t the worst offender in that department (that would be JM DeMatties a few years down the line, who had Clark Kent bizarrely asserting he loved the Beastie Boys) but Clark’s discussion with Jimmy about an apparently fictional musician working with a rolodex of early nineties names makes me cringe (as does trying to imagine how awful a “Hip Hop Lyle Lovett” or “Grunge Frank Sinatra” would sound).
The car poster on the wall of Jimmy’s bachelor pad looks for all the world like Robin’s Redbird, also a Tom Grummett creation. (Fun fact: Tom once told me he still gets {very small} royalty cheques from the Batman & Robin movie, because Robin’s motorcycle was called the Redbird, though that might no longer be true with Paul Levitz no longer in charge of such matters.)
Superboy (in no less than his third time calling those pink creatures “spuds) references John Candy and Joe Flaherty’s “Farm Film Celebrity Blow Up” where the guests would frequently “blow up real good” and it does my SCTV loving Canadian heart good.
It’s interesting (and a little sad) that they again note that Superboy knows things (pop culture, etc) without ever having experienced it. I feel like there’s a lot they could do with this concept.
This issue reads very much like the end of the Superboy “Reign” issues, as Superman is more of a secondary character to the kid. All of it begs the question of why Superman, or Guardian put up with Cadmus. Superman has said in previous issues that he has moral problems with how Cadmus treats life with their cloning experiments, and they’ve attacked him in the past (and also stole his corpse!) so other than the fact that it’s a launchpad for Superboy’s series, there’s really no reason any of these heroes should associate with Cadmus. Especially Guardian, who comes off as little more than an errand boy here. He wants to bring Superboy in, but won’t promise Superboy won’t be harmed or imprisoned?
Nice to see Superboy return to his “Slammin’” catch phrase!
An interesting bit of foreshadowing when Superboy asks Big Words whose clone he is, and who immediately enters but Westfield. [Max: That’s right, Westfield! Not Luthor! Sorry, sorry.]

Summary: (Y/n) is a good girl from a church-going family and her brother, Joe is trying to put Ben behind bars. But when (Y/n) starts to fall for the dangerous killer, things get complicated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Y/n) glanced over to the clock on the wall for what felt like the hundredth time this morning and all it showed was one minute had ticked by since she had last checked. She wished time would go quicker so she could have an excuse to run out of the house and catch the bus to work, she wanted to drown herself in work at the club and forget everything and go to see Ben. But she had twenty minutes until the bus would arrive that she needed to take to get to the club and she didn't fancy sitting at the bus stop for twenty minutes.
Eating the last bite of her toast, (Y/n) downed the rest of her juice before she leaned her head on her hand and turned to look out of the door in the dining room that led to the back garden. They had a fairly big garden and (Y/n) remembered when she was younger, she would never look out of the back door or the windows into the garden in fear of seeing someone or something out there in the dark.
It seemed so trivial and strange to (Y/n) that she was still cautious of looking out into the large garden at night where anyone could be lurking, yet she was going out with a murderer who didn't scare or worry her one bit.
Maybe there was something wrong with her.
That thought hung around in the back of her mind but it wasn't really bothering her, there most likely was something up with her for going out with someone she knew for definite was a cruel person when he wanted to be. But he was someone else around (Y/n) and if she didn't fear him, why should there be something wrong with her? Why couldn't she love someone who did bad things without being seen as insane?
(Y/n) was quickly pulled from her thoughts when her parents walked into the room and sat down at the respected seats, a plate of toast in her father's hand and a bowl of porridge in her mother's.
Breakfast was always something they used to do together as a family, waking up at the same time and eating all meals together. But now with Joe not living here, Cora working and (Y/n) too working, breakfast wasn't always shared and it was something (Y/n) loved. She loved eating on her own without being watched or hassled or brought into some stupid, irrelevant conversation that really was not worth talking about.
She was starting to feel like she was truly growing up and being at home wasn't as calming or comforting as it used to be. When Ben walked into her life he let her look at her life through a different pair of eyes and it showed (Y/n) what she wanted. She didn't want to be seen as a child or have meal times like she was a little girl, she didn't want to be talked down to or told what she had to do and where she could go.
(Y/n) wanted to wake up and have breakfast either on her own or with Ben who always brightened her day sometimes without having to say anything. He could just smile or smirk at her and she instantly felt uplifted. And he would kiss her a lot in the morning (not to say he didn't kiss her a lot during the rest of the day too) and he enveloped her in hugs she didn't want to escape from and he treated her like a woman, not a girl.
Maybe (Y/n) should focus on saving her money and moving out.
If she moved out, she would have control over when she went to work, when she went out with friends, when she saw Ben and what she ate and what times she did things. She could decorate her own home and have things where she wanted and not have to wait for someone to finish in the bathroom and she wouldn't have people living with her who constantly struck a nerve.
"Earth to (Y/n)."
(Y/n) blinked and leaned her head back when her mother's hand waved in front of her eyes, almost tapping her forehead with the spoon she had tightly grasped between her fingers.
"Sorry, what were you saying?"
Ever since her father struck her two days ago, they had all been playing a game of pretend. Cora pretended she didn't like (Y/n) being told off and also that she didn't know what their father had done. Linda pretended the argument had never taken place and everything was as sweet as honey in the (Y/l/n) household. And (Y/n)'s father pretended he hadn't hurt (Y/n) both with his hand and his words, there was still a small look of guilt in his eyes that (Y/n) caught glimpses of sometimes, but he wasn't changed.
They were still treating her like their little angel who was innocent and naive and knew nothing of the adult world. They still thought she was a little good girl who did whatever they would tell them and was totally devoted to the church like it was her lifeline.
(Y/n) couldn't be bothered to change their minds or their views, it would get her nowhere. She could let her family pretend and she could play her role to a point when she was around them, she would be free whenever she was away from them and that was how it had to be for now.
"Do you know Angeline who helps out at church?" Linda spoke as she mixed some jam into her porridge, her eyes intently focused on (Y/n).
"Yes, what about her?"
"Well, I think you remember her son Carl, he went to school with you."
It took a moment for (Y/n) to put a face to the name but when she found a picture of him stored in the back of her head, she had to stop herself from cringing. Carl was a few months younger than (Y/n) but they had one or two classes together when they had been at school. He was a very tall boy who used to have long shaggy hair before he shaved it which made him look unnatural. He had very defined cheekbones and eyes sunk into the back of his head that reminded everyone at school of a skull.
But it wasn't just his features that made (Y/n) uneasy, he wasn't the best person to get to know. Carl was generally boring, he did well in school even though he could hardly read and he was timid, shy and useless. He was always laughing at the wrong point in a joke, he thought he was in with the cool kids when he hardly had any friends and he didn't have any hobbies or interests that (Y/n) knew of.
(Y/n) didn't know him well because she didn't want to talk to him, he was dull and the kind of person that went along and agreed with whatever someone said even if he didn't like the subject or if he didn't understand. (Y/n) knew she didn't have the most outgoing life but she had her own hobbies and interests and likes and passions and she was so passionate in many ways, she didn't want to go anywhere near Carl who brought down the atmosphere in any room.
He was not the kind of person (Y/n) wanted to be friends with.
"I think so." There was a wary tone to (Y/n)'s voice as she wondered where this was going.
"Well, he goes to church on Sundays like us, and he's said that he would like to take you out after church tomorrow."
"When did he say that?"
(Y/n) leaned back in her seat out of instinct when it felt like she was walking into a trap. Why were her parents so fine with this when they treated her like a child, surely they wouldn't want her to be going out on dates when they thought she was a little fourteen year old? Or maybe they wanted her to start dating, they wanted her to find someone who they deemed suitable and respectable and someone they thought would do well in life.
"Yesterday, we were talking to Angeline. I think you two will be good together."
"You set me up on a date with Carl?" The fury in her voice was evident and it confused and unsettled her parents who stared at her like she had grown a second head. Why did they think she would be okay with this? Why did they think they could rule her life like this when she already told them that they controlled her life far too much?
(Y/n) could feel the edge of the table scraping into her fingers when her nails dug too deeply into the wood. She couldn't go on a date with Carl, she didn't like him, he was an idiot and he was in a different crowd to her growing up, he could very well bore her to death. (Y/n) didn't want to go anywhere near him- especially since she already had Ben.
"Yes, he's a lovely boy-"
"I don't want to go on a date with Carl, mother he's docile and useless- plus he can't even read! Why can't you let me lead my own life, I can find someone I like to date I don't need you to do everything for me."
"Now (Y/n) he wants to go out with you and he's got a good job and he goes to our church, he's a timid but lovely young man. Give the boy a chance that's all he's asking for." Paul took a bite of his toast but his eyes were pleading with (Y/n) in such a way she felt like he was trying to guilt-trip her into doing this.
But there was no way (Y/n) was going to go on a date with someone who didn't read, didn't have his own opinions or thoughts and who didn't know how to even live without needing confirmation for his own thoughts and actions. Ben was (Y/n)'s total opposite but he was so good for her in so many ways. He read a lot of books which gave them common ground, he was kind, loving considerate and charming with (Y/n), he never pushed her to do anything she didn't want to and he took her feelings into high consideration.
Ben may be a murderer but at least he was the best kind of gentleman in regards to dating.
"You mean that's all you're asking for. I don't get along with Carl, are you really so ignorant towards my feelings that you're going to try and force me into this when I don't want to?"
Going on a date with Carl wouldn't be right when he would agree with whatever (Y/n) said and didn't challenge anything about her or what she said. He would be docile and more like a shell of a former self who didn't know what to do. (Y/n) needed Ben, she needed someone who could challenge her and bring out the best in her, not bring her down and just be more of a shadow than a partner.
"Talk to him at church tomorrow, let him help set things up for sermon. Just get to know him and if you really don't want to, then I suppose we can't make you go on a date with him."
His words simply weren't good enough.
(Y/n) knew her parents well enough to know that they wouldn't take it well if she said she wasn't going on a date with him. They would push her to get to know Carl at church and then not listen when she said she didn't want to go out with him, they would turn a blind eye and turn off their ears so that (Y/n) felt she had no choice but to go along with it. But she wouldn't, she wasn't going to get to know Carl tomorrow and she wasn't going to go on any date with him or anyone else in the future.
"I'm going to work."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Smiling at Elliot when she walked through the main door to reception, (Y/n) traded places with him when he stood up and walked out behind the desk to let (Y/n) take his place since she was on reception today for her shift.
She placed her bag under the desk, sitting on the chair as she logged into the computer before looking around the small reception area to find something to focus her mind on until someone needed to come in or out of the club. It was never boring working at the club no matter what kind of work (Y/n) was doing on any of her shifts and it was one of the reasons she was beginning to love working here.
(Y/n) soon realised that she was the only girl who worked in the club, there apparently was an old woman who worked here as a cleaner a while ago but she left before (Y/n) even knew Ben.
When the buzzer sounded signalling the door on the right was opening which led into the main area of the club, (Y/n) turned and a small smile formed on her lips when she saw that it was Ben. He grazed his hand along the desk very lightly as he walked past and turned round the side so he could walk over to her behind the desk.
He seemed to smile at her until he got closer, then his eyes narrowed as he reached his hands out to cup her face.
"Doll... did someone hit you?" Ben smoothed his thumb over her cheek where there was a faint bruise and what looked like a very thin scratch mark. Ben knew that kind of mark and the pattern of the small bruises, he'd caused those kinds of bruises when he hit people and his rings scratched against their skin.
(Y/n) could hear the tense tone of his voice and she could sense the aggression he was trying so hard to hold back because he wasn't angry with her. He was concerned because it looked like someone had hit his girl and he wasn't going to take that lightly if that was the case.
"I-it was my dad, we argued and it got out of hand, it's nothing."
"Doll he hit you that's not nothing, what the fuck did he do that for?"
"Because I didn't back down and let them control me... he didn't mean it and he won't do it again." (Y/n) wrapped her arms around Ben's torso and tucked her face into his chest to try and get him to drop it. She knew he was only angry because he cared about her and she was thankful but it wasn't any use him getting upset when it was a one time thing. Her father was a reverend, he wasn't likely to hit her again, he didn't believe in that kind of punishment.
A sigh passed through Ben's lips as he knitted his hand into her hair and pressed his other hand to her back, holding her against him for a while. When (Y/n) pulled back to look up at him, he noticed something in her eyes like she was worried about something.
He didn't say anything, he just watched her patiently, waiting to see if she would say anything or if the thought dropped from her mind and she wouldn't say anything about it.
"My parents, they're trying to set me up on a date with someone tomorrow after church. I said I wouldn't but I don't think they're gonna let this go."
(Y/n)'s eyes softened when Ben's lips pressed to her forehead, his expression looking like he was contemplating or trying to come up with a plan of action. She didn't know what she was expecting Ben to say or do about this, she was only telling him to get it off her chest but if there was something Ben could say to make her feel better it would make (Y/n) feel more at ease.
"I think I can help with that."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Can you do me a favour, please?"
(Y/n) couldn't believe she was doing this. Her heart was beating erratically in her chest to the point she swore Joe would be able to see it forcing against her ribs. She had never lied to her brother before, she never had any reason to lie to him. Before Ben came along (Y/n) never had any secrets of her own so it meant she had no reason to tell little tales to anyone.
But right now she had a pretty big reason to lie to her brother and it was something she wasn't going to do easily.
(Y/n) couldn't go on a date with Carl today but nothing she told her parents was going to be good enough. They had told Carl she was going on the date before they told her about the date and Carl had been at sermon today which (Y/n) had missed. She had been with Ben all day and it was the first time she had ever missed sermon that she could remember and she didn't even feel guilty. It wasn't a necessity to go to church, she didn't have to and her faith didn't waver just because she didn't go, but in her parent's eyes she was going against their faith by missing the sermon.
Ben was waiting around the corner in his car so he could take (Y/n) out somewhere but she couldn't just go without any warning because her parents would lose their heads.
"(Y/n) where were you? Mum called, you didn't turn up for sermon." Joe leaned against the wall of their house, his eyes glancing over to the church where their family still was, finishing up sermon and about to come home for Sunday lunch. Their mother had called Joe and said (Y/n) wasn't turning up at the church just before sermon but he had no idea where she was either.
"They're trying to set me up with someone but I don't want to, Joe you know what they're like... I didn't want to go and be forced into a date. Listen, can you tell them I've been at work and now I'm going to the station to do work experience with you? If they think I'm going to be with you they won't be mad you know it. Please?"
Joe's eyes narrowed and his head ticked to the side as he smiled like she wad telling him a joke he didn't yet understand. Why was she asking him to lie to their parents for her?
"(Y/n)... I'll tell them if you tell me where you're going?" There was no way Joe could say no, he knew how strict things were for (Y/n) and he knew she deserved to have a normal life without being forced into anything or controlled. (Y/n) had never asked him to do anything like this before so Joe didn't really mind.
(Y/n) glanced her eyes around, spotting the front of Ben's car just around the bend near the church at the end of the road. What was she going to say? Joe knew she had to go somewhere if she didn't want to be seen by their parents and for them to believe that she was with Joe at work.
"I... I'm going out with a guy I met." (Y/n) knew Joe wouldn't ask and she knew he wouldn't tell anything to their parents but the smile on his face and the raised brow he gave her made her heart sink to her stomach. She had lied to him. If she dared to tell him the truth he would hit the roof if he knew who she was going out with.
There was no way Joe could ever find out.
Treasure of all war boys p.2
Pairing: Nux x oc
Summary: A girl is allowed to join the war boys after catching Immortan Joe's attention. After taking the time to get to know who they really are, she makes it her goal to make their lives at least a bit better.
Warnings: suggestive talk, gore (there's a dead body), depressive thoughts (just a tiny bit), argument
A/N: I don't know if anything I wrote about is cannon, I just wrote it how I interpreted it. With the help of the game and my favourite fanfic ^^. If I didn't separate this, it would be too long I think. So here's part 2!
Weasel stuck by Nux after that night. Partly because she felt like she owed him for saving her life and partly because he was like an endless well full of information.
She realized that all this time she was so occupied with her thoughts, that she couldn't see, truly see, those around her. Luckily for her, Nux was very sociable and knew a lot about the war boy hierarchy.
She traded affection for information without him ever realizing and before they knew it, a beautiful friendship bloomed between them.
They were there for each other at all times. He held her close and whispered encouragements in her ear. She was there for him when he discovered his tumors, which he named Larry and Barry. Many nights she spent the whole night wiping sweat from his face when night fevers hit him. On those nights, she let him play with her hands and examine her scars, just to distract him from the pain he was in. He comforted her when others made fun of her third eye, reassured her that it doesn't make her any less fierce or intimidating. "If anything," he said "it makes you even more chrome."
When she felt ready and educated enough, she put her plan to action.
She started off easy, with the youngest pups. Some of them were barely three years old, scared and unknowing, just like she once was. She made sure to be kind to them, play with them, give them affection and sometimes sneak some leftover food for them. Soon, she had her own little army of little pups following her every step, learning everything from her.
This, in the end, helped everyone in the hierarchy. With the youngest cared for, the older, more important war boys, had one worry less.
She also made sure to spar with her peers, learn their names and exchange tips and advice on eachother's techniques, while the youngest observed from the sidelines.
At that point, the war boys acknowledged her existence and didn't put so much work on her, seeing as she became the selftitled mother hen.
But in the end, she always came back to Nux. During the day, when she'd focus on her goal, he spent his time with blackfingers, learning about cars and other machines.
And at night, they would hold eachother close and confess their dreams as well as their fears. They were so proud of one another and they often made it known.
And so they grew. Both of them became war boys and got their markings. Nux had markings on his lips, vertical lines that made him look more like a skeleton, to appear more intimidating and a whole V8 engine on his chest, to show his devotion to cars, machines and drivers, who he had become.
Weasel's markings were simpler. Two canines on her lower lip to represent her name and some details around her third eye, a fake eyebrow and some details on the eyelids, because everybody saw her as the one who watches over all, like a mother and like a friend.
That night, Weasel and Nux laid facing eachother, caressing their new marks with ghostly touches. It was at that moment something in their gazes changed, and even though they felt it, they didn't think much of it.
Now that Weasel was a war boy, she needed to up her game a bit. She still took care of the pups, but mainly teaching the older ones how to take care of the youngest, sometimes training with them in her spare time.
When she wasn't raiding, she challenged other war boys to friendly fights, befriending them in the process. She knew pretty much everyone and soon became a very strong and skilled fighter, often using her quick wit as an advantage and gained respect among young and old alike.
However, she often visited her friends in the Organic mechanic's shop and helped them from boredom or with their treatment.
All of this took a lot of her energy, but even so she still listened to Nux rambling about his day every night, lulled to sleep by his voice.
He didn't mind it at all. She told him what she was trying to do and when he thought about it, she was the only one to treat them like actual living beings. Not even they treated eachother like that. And maybe that's why everyone liked her so much.
Despite her daily activities, Weasel's official position in the army, the war boy hierarchy, was a lancer.
When on a raid, she stood on her perch behind the seats and did things the driver didn't have the time for, like looking out for enemies or protecting the car and the driver in it.
Although she and Nux were in the same pack, she wasn't his lancer. Nux found another friend, a war boy, strong and ambitious, it was no wonder Nux was drawn to him. His name was Slit.
Slit was Nux's lancer. However, unlike other drivers and lancers, these two almost always kept eachother company outside of raids. Some would say they could even be called friends. But Weasel had a knack that Slit would immediately disagree with that statement.
He was an interesting character to her and she liked observing the strange relationship Slit and her dear Nux had together. Slit wanted to be noticed by the Immortan himself, much like every other war boy, but Slit's desire rooted deeper than the rest's. And Nux admired that.
Something inside their souls linked them, creating a strong bond and even after all the years spent as their friend, Weasel found herself completely clueless as to where their bond originated, at times creating a massive tension between the two males.
Perhaps it was the thrill of challenging one another, because both of them were so unpredictable, searching in the other's eyes for their next move.
At the end of the day however, no matter how many times Slit said friendship was for weaklings, he didn't have anyone, and so they welcomed him every night onto their cuddle pile, with Nux holding Weasel and Slit laying haphazardly over them, war pups serving as a good blanket.
The silence in the desert, that used to be an ocean, was interrupted by the majestic roar of V8 engines, red dust thrown into every direction by spiked wheels.
Excited cheers of young war boys filled with bloodlust were just a tad quieter than the singing of their war vehicles. Their pack had been assigned this part of the Great white to be scavenged for parts and other useful items and they took their orders seriously. Well, as seriously as a bunch of young adults can.
So far, it was pretty mediocre. The pack haven't encountered any enemies, but no treasures were found either. For now, they just playfully raced eachother, trying to be faster than everyone else, to be the leader.
Their game was interrupted by the victorious yelling of a lancer on the currently leading car, announcing smoke on the horizon. And there it was, black like the night, signaling a possible car wreck. The drivers willed their machines to go faster and cheers errupted once again as they took off, speeding to their destination.
It seemed that no one got to the wreckage, because it didn't look taken apart. It couldn't have happened too long ago, the two cars that must've collided were emitting black smoke, one of the cars was even aflame.
The war boys knew they had to act quickly, a treasure such as this was bound to attract attention and so they got to work. Most of the pack started throwing sand at the burning car, while others, including Nux, Weasel and Slit, went to search through the other car. Slit went to see the engine, Nux climbed under the car and Weasel pulled open the damaged door to search the inside.
There weren't many useful things inside, a canister of guzzoline and last few drops of water in a flask, which she hid in her pants' pocket to share with her friends back at the Citadel, and a body of a dead man. With nothing better to do, she pulled him out of the wreck and looked him over.
He didn't have any ammo or weapons on him, but he sure as hell had nice clothes. A cool leather jacket, but Weasel didn't want it, it was too hot for that, she wasn't in need of new pants either...
Her eyes fell on the man's firm, brown boots. Weasel smirked to herself, she was going to look so chrome in those. Before she could even reach for the man's legs, a voice suddenly spoke over her shoulder "What'chu got there?" Nux asked, looking at the corpse with interest. "Nothing. 'S just a corpse." Weasel shrugged "But it has a cool jacket, if you want it."
But Nux's attention was on the same boots Weasel wanted, his thoughts not at all different from hers. He crouched down next to the deceased man's legs and undid the laces, before Weasel slapped his hands off, roughly pulling the boots off and cradling them to her chest "Hey, I saw them first! They're mine!" she barked out.
Nux only smirked to himself. Of course she'd want the boots too, they were very chrome after all and he didn't mind fighting a bit for them. "Oh really?" he cocked his head to the side, the smirk still present "Well, I'm a driver, so I deserve them more." and he reached towards her chest.
"And what would you need them for? Pushing pedals? Please, without lancers, you drivers would be dead! I at least need good boots to hold my ground!" Weasel retorted, jumping away from his prying hands.
At that point, everyone turned from whatever they were doing to watch the fight unfold.
Every time Nux tried to grab the boots, Weasel managed to jump away, which left him to chase her around the wrecks to everyone's amusement.
After a few attempts he finally managed to trip her. After she fell onto her stomach, boots still cradled to her chest and the wind knocked out of her lungs, he straddled her lower back, like all those years ago. Then he flipped her onto her back and slid lower so that he was straddling her hips.
Weasel knew that she was practically screwed and if she wanted to keep the boots, she had to stop Nux wrestling them out of her grasp. Her eyes locked to his own, which were set on the boots, sparkling with determination. His eyes were the prettiest blue she's ever seen, playful and deep down even kind. He was grinning at her from above and she found herself drawn to it, to his face, to him.
As if on instinct, her body sprung upwards, stopping centimeters away from his face. Nux felt it more than saw it, the wet sensation that made the time slow as she licked his cheek. Startled, he immediately jumped away from her, one hand placed over his cheek.
Weasel, too, stood up, looking at her friend worriedly. It seemed like she broke him and for a moment she wondered if she went too far. She internally shook her head. No, she just did what she had to, Nux would understand.
With one last and sort of apologetic look towards her confused friend, Weasel took off to her perch to hide.
After a moment of silence, chuckles sounded throughout the pack, increasing in volume, until every last war boy was laughing. Nux felt his cheeks redden and couldn't do anything but stand there like a rock. A heavy pat fell on his shoulder "Careful, before you get a stiffy." Slit smirked at him and slowly, still chuckling, everyone made their way to their vehicles.
Nux didn't join his pack in victorious cheers on the way back to the Citadel, instead he frowned the whole time.
On one hand, he was angry at Weasel. He thought they were just playing around with those boots, she didn't have to embarass him in front of the whole pack. That was not chrome at all.
But on the other hand, when he thought about the feeling that bloomed inside of him when she licked his cheek, he shuddered. But not with disgust, no, more with...longing. He didn't understand it, she made him look weak, why did he want it to happen again??
Weasel felt immense guilt swirl in her gut when they came back and Nux didn't even look at her, instead passing her like she wasn't there, with a frown on his face. Perhaps she did take it too far.
Her feelings even doubled after finding out that the boots were too big for her feet. From that moment she tried to search for him, to apologise, to make up, anything, because frankly, she missed him.
From that raid she rarely ever saw him anymore. During the day he was in the blackfinger's cave, but whenever she went there to visit him, it was as if he was never there.
He even stopped coming to the cuddle pile, spending his nights elsewhere. It worried Weasel. The thought of him suffering through the night fevers alone or worse, with someone else, scared her.
Of course, she couldn't just stop doing her job, so she went through her days, but with a heavy heart and dark thoughts of failure clouding her mind.
It seemed like this fight between the two affected the whole hierarchy. The mood in the caves wasn't busy and cheery like always, instead everyone felt gloomy and under the weather.
After maybe a week, everyone was so fed up, their only wish was for Nux and Weasel to just talk, or fight, it out, for they couldn't stand the tension in the air for a second longer. And so the older war boys made a plan.
Two of them went into Organic mechanic's shop, where Weasel was currently helping tend to wounded and grabbed her by the armpits, while two others did the same to Nux. Nobody interfered, on the contrary, an internal finally crossed everyone's tired minds.
The two of them were thrown into an empty garage, emptied specifically for this mission. Once they were both in the same place, the older war boys left with an accomplised feeling.
The two stared at eachother for a moment, before Nux got up and went for the exit, but Weasel grabbed his wrist. He whirled around, fury and frustration in his movements.
However, he immediately stilled and his eyes went wide when he saw the expression on his dear Weasel's face.
Her eyes held deep guilt, sorrow and desperation, lined with little drops of tears. The way she clung to him, as if she'd lose him if she'd let go, made him week at the knees and he cursed her for it.
But for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to be really angry with her. It was just something about seeing her face again that put him at ease, despite what he believed he should be feeling.
"Please don't go." she whispered, afraid of angering him even further. But Nux's anger was long gone now. "Don't cry." he tried to gently wipe the tears away, but all this was so new for them both, he didn't really know how to be gentle. But as his palm smeared the liquid around her eyes, more than dried them, little giggles escaped her mouth and he knew he did it right.
"I'm sorry." Weasel looked down after smiling at him, her apology raw and sincere. "You should be sorry. That was so mediocre of you." Nux frowned, but only jokingly. She nodded her head and whispered 'I know' in a barely there voice.
Seeing that she was still feeling down, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed her flush against him.
They both froze, not only because they haven't held eachother for so long, but because of the new feeling it awoke in them.
There wasn't just the warmth, physical and emotional, they were used to, but a strange desire as well. As if something inside of them wanted to be closer together, closer than ever before, closer than what was even possible.
If Nux had to be honest, it was the same feeling he felt when she licked his cheek. He thought that maybe by distancing himself he'll get rid of those debilitating feelings, but no. The exact opposite happened, they grew and grew, but now they felt like they were multiplied and Nux just couldn't hold himself back anymore.
Pushing Weasel to the stone ground, he pressed his body on top of hers, legs tangled, hips pressed tightly against hers, pinning her into place, his hands grabbed her wrists and wouldn't let go. Not that she wanted him to.
None of them knew what they were doing, but they both wanted it more than anything in their whole half lives.
He pressed his forehead to hers, his eyes on her lips, parted, and he could hear her shallow breaths through them."You're gonna pay." he whispered and their lips collided in a hungry kiss.
Maybe they would've understood better if only someone would told them about love.
