We saw exactly this last year, too.

Because Will Buxton spent most of pre-season testing in Bahrain last year talking about Kimi Antonelli and how he would be in the Williams seat the next year.

Because Joe Saward started the rumour just before Miami that Antonelli would be in Logan's seat by Imola.

Because Williams' social media comments were full of people demanding that Logan vacate his seat and give it up to their driver. Calling him names and saying he was useless and slow and bad and their driver was better.

Because the media reported over and over about the pressure Logan was under and the probable replacements and even asked Logan to his face about it. Anything good that Logan did was not reported on.

Does this sound familiar to you?

It should. Because this is what is happening to Jack right now.

Jack has taken Logan's place as the driver people actively cheer to see fail. The driver nobody gives a shit about. "It's only Logan, who cares?" has become "It's only Jack, who cares?" The expendable one who everyone wants to throw away because they think their driver should be the one in his seat.

And even though Logan's treatment was bad enough, this somehow manages to be worse. Because Logan, at least, had a year behind him when this began.

Jack has driven exactly one race, a race in an overweight, broken, un-upgraded car, and he did not disgrace himself. Yet, already it begins. Post after post, report after report. Talking about his testing mileage, talking about the time gap to Gasly in qualifying, the race pace.

Not one media outlet reported on Jack only being one tenth slower than Gasly in the FP3 qualifying simulation laps. Or that Jack's first Q1 run was mere hundredths off Gasly's.

Or that Alpine put Jack into traffic on his second Q1 run, something that, with every movement of Alpine and Briatore since, looks less and less like a coincidence.

Or that Jack's car was Ocon's, the one Ocon had qualified 20th in the week before, over a second off Gasly's pace, the one Ocon insisted had a fundamental issue, the one that hadn't been upgraded in weeks when Gasly's had.

The number of people claiming that five races - something which, by the way, has not been confirmed, yet seems to be repeated endlessly by certain fans as an irrefutable fact - is a completely sufficient number of races to prove a driver's worth is shocking. The number of pundits, podcasters, and other big names in the sport who are agreeing that five races is enough just because they want to put Colapinto in is completely disheartening. Alpine's social media has become completely unusable. Every comment section is filled with hundreds of comments insulting Jack and calling for Colapinto into his seat.

Please, even if you are neutral, even if you don't like him, no matter where you stand - please support Jack.

Because it's not just about Jack, just as it was never just about Logan.

It's about every young driver who deserves a chance. A real chance, a fair chance, a proper chance.

Friendly reminder to F1 media/journalists that Formula One drivers are human beings that deserve respect and to be treated with a sense of basic human decency. And also a reminder that it is possible to ask difficult and/or controversial questions without being a total dickhead.

Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy. Also HOW does he take these on and off. Experts weigh in

Dark Secret

So! Danny was discovered pretty quickly after his first battle against the Lunch Lady. His hair turned white, and his body shape was a little different, but he largely looked very similar to his Human Form, so it was only a matter of time really.

Thankfully he was assumed to be a Metahuman.

He didn't look like any other Ghost, the closest resemblance was his hair and eye color, but even that could be explained away. Also his parents were adamant that he couldn't be a Ghost because he was still Sentient and not Evil, so he must just have powers that just looked similar to Ghost Powers esthetically. Probably as a result of the Portal Accident, which he used as an explanation for how his powers awakened.

Danny also avoided using the more obvious Ghost Powers like Intangiblity and Invisiblity, sticking mostly to the most basic Flight and Energy based Powers he got to be as generic as possible. If anybody saw otherwise, it was a trick of the light or a trick of the Ghosts.

Danny became the Hero of Amity Park, always pretending to be something else. It was his darkest secret.

Unfortunately because the public never saw a Ghost like Phantom on a positive light, their perception of Ghosts never changed. Nobody believed that Ghosts could be anything aside from Evil, and as the knowledge of Ghosts and the Ghost Zone began to spread around the world that perception became more and more commonplace.

If Danny had been revealed in the early days, it could have been salvageable, but nowadays if his secret was revealed he would have to convince the entire world that everything they knew about Ghosts was wrong. It would practically be impossible.

Even when he joined the Justice League when he became an Adult, he still had to hide his secret. Years of hiding made sure he could conceal his true Nature from the magic users on the team, but he still had to be distant from the team just to be sure.

While all this was going on in the Living Realm, his adventures in the Ghost Zone still happened as normal. He saved Pandora and the Acropolis, dethroned the Tyrant King Aragon, managed to defeat Pariah Dark in Single combat, and even became recognized as a Great Warrior by the Far Frozen.

After years of hiding, he actually felt more at home in the Ghost Zone than in the Human Realm. There he could be his true self without having to hide a huge part of his identity, and people accepted him for who he was. Sure he had enemies there, but he also had more real friends outside of Tucker and Sam.

He was content with his double life, acting as a Hero to the Public while hiding his true self, and secretly going to the Ghost Zone to be himself among his friends and even his enemies.

Of course it all came crashing down when he Anti Ecto Acts finally passed.

Now there was a Legal Path for Humans to enter and profit off of the Ghost Zone. Beyond just being able to legally kill and experiment on Ghosts, the Acts also allowed Humans to claim parts of the Ghost Zone as their own Property, enslaving the Ghosts residing there, and destroying the Ecosystem of the Zone because there were no laws preventing it.

And now Danny had a choice.

He could either side with the Humans to which he was a Hero, allowing them to destroy the Ghost Zone and Enslave the denizens living there with the full support of the Government, or he could side with the Ghost Zone, betraying Humanity and the people he had been protecting for years, but trying to save those who had accepted him for his true self years ago.

To him the answer was obvious.

Regulus has his suitcase packed and he’s almost out the door when Sirius stops him.

“Where are you going?” Sirius asks him.

“Italy.” Regulus almost growls.

“Why are you going to Italy?” Sirius asks ignoring Regulus’ tone.

“He asked me to marry him, Sirius!” Regulus says through gritted teeth.

“Yes. I know.” Sirius tells him.

“YOU KNOW?” Regulus is yelling now.

“Yes, of course I know. That still doesn’t explain why you’re going to Italy.” Sirius questions again.

“HE ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM, SIRIUS!?” Still yelling and getting louder.

“Reggie, I still don’t see the connection here.” Sirius says, but before Regulus can answer, James walks out of their bedroom.

“James, Reg is going---” Sirius starts.

“To Italy. I heard… He’ll be back.” James says casually.

“No, I will not!” Regulus says firmly at the same time Sirius asks “What?!” as he looks at James confused.

“He just needs a bit of time to process.” James shrugs, still very calm about the entire situation.

“Why are you not freaking out?” Sirius asks a bit frantically.

“I freaked out when he went to France when I asked him to be my boyfriend, but then he came back a week later and said yes. So, I didn’t freak out when he went to Greece when I told him I loved him. And then he went to… Spain?” He questions and looks at Regulus.

“Yes.” Regulus grits out.

“Spain, when I asked him to move in with me. Italy sounds like it will be nice. Have a good time.” James tells Regulus and gives him a kiss.

“I am not coming back this time, James.” Regulus says very definitively.

“Okay, love. I’ll see you in a week.” James says as he starts to walk towards the kitchen. He pauses and looks over his shoulder, “You have the ring, right?” He asks Regulus.

“Yes.” Regulus says as he walks out and slams the door.

Bruce Wayne had a child that was somehow kidnapped right out of the hospital just hours after being born. He of them ever stopped looking despite how cold the trail had grown.

Years later there is some rouge attack and a civilian child was injured and taken to the hospital. Bruce does a DNA test on the blood found at the scene and concludes that the child is actually his long lost kid.

Dani was planning to sneak out of the hospital the moment the doctors stopped looking at her. Then Bruce Wayne of all people comes in and claims that she is his long lost child. She knows that this is very impossible because she is a clone, but Bruce won't listen to her and she really doesn't want to explain the clone thing to a "normal" stranger.

This does brings up a lot of questions about how Danny ended up living with the Fentons though.

Gray and Graysons

One of the Bats has a secret. Something they never told to the others.

They were so very young but they have memories of a sibling, so small and tiny. They remember the burst of warmth they had in their heart when they held the tiny baby for just a moment.

But they weren’t allowed to keep them, their family couldn’t raise them. Money was tight, just enough for three but not for four, despite their shows always bringing in a crowd it was getting harder and harder for the world to be wowed by them in the new age and their sibling was too small and tiny and needed to be cared in a single place than for them to be on the road. Their lifestyle was not good for his tiny sibling apparently.

They had to watch as their parents gave his sibling away to people in suits, them promising to give his baby brother to a loving family when they find a ‘home’ for him. He watched his parents try to be strong only for his mother to break down once the car left down the road, his father holding her and apologizing, the rest of the circus troupe all silently coming over to give the heartbroken family condolences.

Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson had tears running down his face when he last saw his baby brother.

A brother he got to name before he had to be given away.

Dick never told the others. If anyone dug deep into his past they might find his brother’s birth records maybe, if someone got around to digitizing the paperwork for him but given the fact he was placed in the US childcare systems just a few days after his birth and the fact that Dick was still pretty young they most likely believed he didn’t remember his baby brother now. Not after so many years.

But they were wrong, Dick remembers. And he kept the secret close to his heart and memories.

And the only physical evidence he had was a single picture of him holding his brother, a smile on his tiny face towards their father who had taken the photo of them together. When he had lost his parents, lost most of the things that connected him to them, to his past in the circus that had been his whole life, had been taken from him in Gotham’s ruthless childcare system, he held on tight to the picture in secret. Hid it away from anyone trying to rip it from him, hid it from Bruce when the man took him in days later, hid it from Alfred despite how gentle the butler was towards him. He couldn’t, wouldn’t risk losing his photo at the time, he hadn’t trusted anyone and by the time he did he didn’t have the heart to reveal it.

So yes, the existence of his baby brother Danny was his most guarded and best kept secret.

So that’s why Dick, as Nightwing, nearly died from a heart attack when leaving a Justice League meeting he spotted a familiar face among one of the new engineers working in the Watchtower.

It was like seeing a young version of himself. Only, Dick could see that the young man was more than a copy of him, so much more than a clone. He held many traces of John Grayson but also had a bit more of Mary Grayson than Dick did. Small details that Dick foggely remembers taking note when he had held his baby brother.

“Hey, hurry up with that report Gray!” Shouted the head engineer from down the hall, his hand beckoning the young adult to come over.

“Coming! And boss, I told you Danny is fine!” Danny shouted back before hurriedly leaving a stunned Nightwing.

One of those Hua Cheng reverts to Wuming scenarios where Wuming comes to understand the that 1) He and Xie Lian are sexually and romantically entangled 2) Xie Lian is married to a ghost king named Hua Cheng. The conclusion he derives from this is that he is Xie Lian's lover?? servant he fucks sometimes?? some sort of concubine??? He is trying to figure out how legitimate their affair is.
