Okay, so I will note that the seven includes the loscar and britcedes stories.

So from here, the Maxiel story will follow the Christian/Toto story. And then I also have the Mick/Jack story brewing. The sixth on the list is Lando and Carlos but, as I have said from the start, whether that ever gets written is not promised and highly dependent on IRL events. And then the seventh is Mark and David's story, to bring the series full-circle back to the beginning of the loscar story.

Let's list some vibes:

Maxiel - meet cute, secret identity, age gap, power imbalance

Mick/Jack - arranged marriage, strangers to friends to fondness, fertility issues

Carlando - against-all-odds, elopement, love at first sight

Mark and David - long-term, secret love, period-typical homophobia and internalised homophobia, They Cannot Spit It Out

Now, that is all that has been planned. I am also contemplating a collection of cutscenes/short scenes both with the main cast and other characters - such as Pierre and Charles, or Esteban and Lance. And of course others may yet appear who haven't yet - a lot of them tend to walk in without being invited.

When I saw the hornywolff fic I squealed with joy, I love your style so much and have to say I'm quite envious of your writing style, whatever you write is just so perfect and your updates always make my day.

Not to sound rude or pushy but just as a general question, do you have plans on posting Seven Stars again soon? Just asking because the world really severely lacks good Schumacher content of any kind (and I also saw so many pictures of Michael and Gina for her birthday a few days ago). Sending lots of love, very excited to read more!

Oh, I would love to post Seven Stars again. I've got half or so of the next chapter written, and there's still loads of plans. I've even got a very certain chapter into the future written. I just struggle to focus on more than one universe at a time. I do want to come back to it!

Thank you! I'm so glad it's got a good reception. I was a little nervous about the Christian and Toto instalment being next but it really felt right, and for me it was imperative that Christian and Toto's story came in at some point because it leads directly into the Maxiel part.

Summary:

i want to ask how you search for historical information for fics, i want to write a fic about 1770s france and forward, but i don’t know where start to searching, do you have any advice?

I'll be honest, it's nothing wildly fancy. The great news is that in this internet age, a lot of historical costumers have blogs, websites, accounts that detail anything and everything your heart desires; cosplayers reconstruct the clothing with painstaking detail.

I'll use Christian's wedding gown as an example, since I posted that last night. The problem with dealing with that era of fashion is that a lot of things changed very rapidly, particularly in regards to fashion. I've also never really fixed an exact year date for the setting, and historically I do do a bit of handwaving. But the idea was that the loscar story was set around 1820 ish.

So to establish what Christian and Toto are wearing in their story, I had to count backwards from there. Daniel is approximately thirty during the loscar story (I aged him down a little from the real-life age gap as I thought him still being unmarried without children at 35 might be stretching the realms of belief a little far when he's the only heir to the throne). So if we subtract 30-ish years from the loscar story timeline, plus a little extra for plot reasons, we arrive at around 1785.

From there, I put into Google "fashion 1780s" and immediately realised what a mistake I had made. Honestly, a lot of it is about throwing phrases into google and finding what works. With how many changes there were across this time period, I eventually put "1785 wedding gown" in and was directed to a sewing blog that studies historical fashion: and to the gown that would be Christian's wedding gown in the story.

(It was a little sad as I originally wrote Christian getting married in a chemise gown, and had a fantastic snarky line about him being married in his underwear which had to go to the cutting room floor. The chemise a la reine will appear later.)

Hiii, I just finished reading your gewis regency fic and I just want to tell you that I LOVED IT, just as I loved the loscar fic. George/Lewis and Logan/Oscar are my top two pairings and I also adore George and Oscar's friendship. Can't wait to read more from this universe!!! :)

You're welcome anon. It's just - I feel like I've been waiting so long for Jack, even more than I was waiting for Oscar, and when they announced him I was so excited for him. Finally, I said. Finally, he'll get to show what he can do.

Because Jack is fast. He is fast and he is clever and he is excellent wheel to wheel. If his chassis wasn't broken for the first third of the 2023 F2 season he would have romped that championship home. He outscored every other driver in the latter two-thirds. Including Pourchaire and Vesti. At the last race of the year, he did FP1 along with a string of other drivers, and the commentators were breathlessly claiming that all the drivers who'd done FP1 would be tired and therefore that would explain underperformance...and Jack put in a flawless lap to put it on pole.

I've seen plenty of those fans try to discredit Jack, to say he's slow, or that he only does well because his father pays, or whatever. I know what I saw. I know I saw Jack's flying lap in FP3 in AD be a tenth off Gasly. I know I saw Jack's first Q1 flying lap be hundredths off Gasly. And I know I saw him put out into traffic.

Jack is good enough for this seat. And I don't care if anyone disagrees or tries to defend it, but hoping for a rookie to fail so your driver can have his seat makes you a HORRIBLE FUCKING PERSON.

We saw exactly this last year, too.

Because Will Buxton spent most of pre-season testing in Bahrain last year talking about Kimi Antonelli and how he would be in the Williams seat the next year.

Because Joe Saward started the rumour just before Miami that Antonelli would be in Logan's seat by Imola.

Because Williams' social media comments were full of people demanding that Logan vacate his seat and give it up to their driver. Calling him names and saying he was useless and slow and bad and their driver was better.

Because the media reported over and over about the pressure Logan was under and the probable replacements and even asked Logan to his face about it. Anything good that Logan did was not reported on.

Does this sound familiar to you?

It should. Because this is what is happening to Jack right now.

Jack has taken Logan's place as the driver people actively cheer to see fail. The driver nobody gives a shit about. "It's only Logan, who cares?" has become "It's only Jack, who cares?" The expendable one who everyone wants to throw away because they think their driver should be the one in his seat.

And even though Logan's treatment was bad enough, this somehow manages to be worse. Because Logan, at least, had a year behind him when this began.

Jack has driven exactly one race, a race in an overweight, broken, un-upgraded car, and he did not disgrace himself. Yet, already it begins. Post after post, report after report. Talking about his testing mileage, talking about the time gap to Gasly in qualifying, the race pace.

Not one media outlet reported on Jack only being one tenth slower than Gasly in the FP3 qualifying simulation laps. Or that Jack's first Q1 run was mere hundredths off Gasly's.

Or that Alpine put Jack into traffic on his second Q1 run, something that, with every movement of Alpine and Briatore since, looks less and less like a coincidence.

Or that Jack's car was Ocon's, the one Ocon had qualified 20th in the week before, over a second off Gasly's pace, the one Ocon insisted had a fundamental issue, the one that hadn't been upgraded in weeks when Gasly's had.

The number of people claiming that five races - something which, by the way, has not been confirmed, yet seems to be repeated endlessly by certain fans as an irrefutable fact - is a completely sufficient number of races to prove a driver's worth is shocking. The number of pundits, podcasters, and other big names in the sport who are agreeing that five races is enough just because they want to put Colapinto in is completely disheartening. Alpine's social media has become completely unusable. Every comment section is filled with hundreds of comments insulting Jack and calling for Colapinto into his seat.

Please, even if you are neutral, even if you don't like him, no matter where you stand - please support Jack.

Because it's not just about Jack, just as it was never just about Logan.

It's about every young driver who deserves a chance. A real chance, a fair chance, a proper chance.

Friendly reminder to F1 media/journalists that Formula One drivers are human beings that deserve respect and to be treated with a sense of basic human decency. And also a reminder that it is possible to ask difficult and/or controversial questions without being a total dickhead.
